    Lu Jia’er was at the Jin’s residence again. Jin Shengping and Jin Xiann were here and they were just as hospitable towards her as before. On the surface, everything was the same. On the other hand, they were looking at her with different eyes, with judgment and curiosity.


    Everyone took seats in the living room and Jin Xiann poured Lu Jia’er some juice.


    Lu Jia’er, who was a bit nervous, took a sip and put the ss down. She then looked up at Jin Shengping and Jin Xiann who were checking her up and down and said, “Mr. Jin, Professor Jin, my identity must havee as a shock to you.”


    “To some extent!” Jin Shengping admitted it.


    “I am sorry to have frightened you.” Lu Jia’er apologized.


    Jin Shengping gazed at her. “But I am curious. Can you read people’s minds like Xiangdong mentioned?”


    “Yes!” Lu Jia’er nodded.


    “Then tell me what I was thinking,” Jin Shengping asked.


    Looking at Jin Shengping, Lu Jia’er said slowly, “Mr. Jin, there is nothing on your mind.”


    A smile climbed to Jin Shengping’s face. He appeared to be approachable and kind. Yet, in his eyes, there was something unfathomable.


    Having sensed this, Lu Jia’er asked, “Mr. Jin, you don’t seem to believe me, do you?”


    Jin Shengping waved his hand. “I do believe you. Yes, just now, there was nothing on my mind.”


    Then, Lu Jia’er turned to Jin Xiann. “Professor Jin, your mind is settled as still water as well. However, when I was conversing with Mr. Jin, you were wondering whether my brain was put into a machine or if a chip was imnted in me.”


    Jin Xiannughed. “So I see that you can read people’s minds.”


    “As for your question, the answer is that a chip is imnted in my body.” Lu Jia’er went on.


    “I am looking forward to your physical exam tomorrow!” Jin Xiann was excited about this. “I heard that you can perform hypnosis?” She continued.


    “Yes, if you want to give it a go, I can demonstrate it for you.” Lu Jia’er proposed.


    Jin Xiann shook her head. “It is not necessary. I believe you!”


    Lu Jia’er was surprised that Jin Xiann would reject it so readily. “Professor Jin, you are unwilling to be hypnotized?”


    Jin Xiann nodded. “A little bit.”


    Lu Jia’er looked at Jin Xiann and nodded. “That is natural. Usually, people are resistant to being hypnotized. But don’t worry. You are the type of person that can only be hypnotized in very specific situations.”


    Jin Xiann was startled. “Did you just... hypnotize me?”


    “I tried to but failed. I am sorry!” Lu Jia’er took the initiative to apologize to Jin Xiann.


    Jin Xiann was rmed which merelysted for a brief moment but that did not escape Lu Jia’er’s attention. “Now, do you find me terrifying?” Lu Jia’er probed.


    Hearing this, Jin Xiann let her guard down. “I would be lying if I said no.”


    Lu Jia’er smiled since Jin Xiann was being sincere. “I have to apologize to Mr. Jin. Last time when I was here, I hypnotized the nanny and erased a small part of her memory. If it is possible, I want to apologize to her in person!”


    Lu Jia’er told Jin Shengping about the incidentst time. His eyes flickered. Then, he said calmly, “It is dreadful to perform hypnosis without approval. However, to avoid new problems cropping up unexpectedly, we will be the only informed ones. Let’s stop it there!”


    Lu Jia’er nodded. Indeed, she wouldn’t want to deliberately create new problems. That being said, she had some suspicions. The Jin family had been too calm with her identity. She found their calmness unbelievable and she could not help but have second thoughts.
