SELLING THE ARMOR

"The earth is soplicated, and you didn''t tell me anything about money; now I have to sell my armor to rent a house." Lucinda said with a frown, as if she were seeing him. "Don''t worry; when youe, I will make you a new armor. Money is part of humans'' daily lives; they do a lot of nasty things for it; they can even kill for it." Lucifer remarked. "How are you talking to me without being here, and can Medusa hear us?" She inquired, turning to look at Medusa, who was ncing at the armor in the bag.

"No, she can''t. It''s between us, husband and wife. I just wanted to see how you are; it seems you are doing fine," Lucifer stated.

"All the men..." She paused, hesitating to speak. "I havee across people on earth who can''t take their eyes off me," she muttered.

"That''s because you are extremely beautiful, and your skin is more wless than a human''s," he assured. Medusa patted her on the shoulder.

    "Are you sleeping?" she asked.

"No, I''m not. I was just talking to my husband." Lucinda replied, gazing at Medusa.

"Oh, I almost forgot, husband and wife who are bonded together canmunicate with each other without seeing each other; I think that''s one of the reasons he was able to let you go..." Medusa said she was biting her lower lip. "You are so brilliant; I like you, and I didn''t know." Lucinda said, amazed, with a beaming smile on her face.

"I have to help and educate you. I am literally your bodyguard," she said, and Lucinda nodded and smirked.

"For some reason, I think this strange ce feels like home, with the different air and colors of the world. Back at home, you can only see mes and darkness, no daylight." Lucindamented, pursing her lips.

"Our daylight is the fire that we see all day; I must admit the colors on earth are beautiful," Medusa said, cupping Lucinda''s cheek with her hand. "Your eyes are the most captivating on earth; no wonder humans can''t take their eyes off you. Did you cut your hair?" She asked bluntly.

"So, you are just noticing; gosh, I didn''t cut it; you know it''s magical; I asked it to be short." Lucinda replied, stroking her hair.

"Wow, you have started mastering your unique powers." Medusa mumbled.

"Miss, we are here," the driver said, parking in front of a jewelry store.

Medusa and Lucinda both got down from the taxi and walked into the jewelry store carrying the shopping bags as they made their way into the store.

"Wee, miss. How may I help you?" The shopkeeper asked, standing behind a counter. He was examining other jewels on his desk.

"I would like to sell gold in exchange for money." Medusa said, dropping a few shopping bags on the floor next to Lucinda and cing the stic bag on the desk. The shopkeeper pushed up his sses, cing his hand on the bag. "How much gold are we talking about here?" he inquired, raising a brow.

"It''s on the table; see for yourself," she stated.

The man reluctantly opened the stic bag and adjusting his sses.

"Are you sure this is gold?" He asked, taking out the armor.

"Yes." Lucinda replied. He examined the armor for a few minutes with his mouth wide open.

"I...Wow! It is indeed gold. Where did you get this much gold?" he asked.

"It''s none of your business, so how much are you paying?" Medusa inquired.

"Er...I will offer you three hundred thousand dors for the gold," he beamed holding tightly to the armor.

"That little money for all this much gold, are you kidding me?" Lucinda asked, pissed. Although she didn''t know how money works, she was right, Medusa held her hand, blinking her eyes at her.

"I will take it from here." Medusa said, giving her a reassuring smile.

"I would like to sell it for four thousand dors instead." Medusa spoke authoritatively, looking at the man with a lot of confidence.

"I already offered you a big deal, but since you can''t take it, I am afraid I would have to ask you to leave; the door is that way." The man said rudely pointing at the main door of the jewelry store as other customers started walking in. "Let''s go to another jewelry store." Lucinda insisted. Medusa leaned in and whispered in her ear.

"Since he is ying hard to get, I will have to hypnotize him. Do I have your permission, my queen?" Medusa asked in a respectful tone.

"Go on; I''m not stopping you." Lucinda muttered. Medusa smirked and ced her hand on the counter. Moving her face closer to the man, she looked into his eyes; her eyes started disying different colors, and the man fell prey with his eyes also changing. Lucinda watched the two of them lost for words.

"You will give us five hundred thousand dors for the gold." Medusa dered staring immensely at him.

"I will give you five hundred thousand dors for the gold." The man repeated. As if he wasn''t in control of his body, he bowed, opened the top drawer, and started counting the money. Medusa smiled as she watched him. He shoved all the money in a ck polythene bag and handed it to her. She quickly took the money from him and pushed it into the small bag she was carrying.

"Alright, Lucy, let''s get out of here." Medusa said she was picking up the shopping bags from the floor. Lucinda giggled, looking at the man who was still trapped in Medusa''s spell. Medusa snapped her finger on his face, freeing him from her trap as they both strolled out of the jewelry store.

"I thought only my husband could do that," Lucinda said.

"He is not the only one. You can also do it; I learned from the best by the time the man realized he had been duped; we would be long gone." Medusa said. She stood close to the road, trying to stop a taxi.Published by N?v''elD/rama.Org.
