Chapter 82:
? ? ? ? ?
Alicia spoke, her gaze lost.
She didn''t want to meet Caden''s gaze.
Caden, on the other hand, seemedpletely rxed. He leaned casually against the wall, arms crossed. “What do you mean by that?”
She hadn''t expected him to ask that question.
Considering how things used to go between them, shouldn''t they just strip down and move on? He''d give her what she wanted, and then he''d leave.
But since he was questioning her, she couldn''t help herself and had to address him directly. "Can you stop acting like you''re not aware?" With all his games, it was clear that he had a lot of experience at this.
Why did he pretend otherwise?
Caden began to walk towards her at a leisurely pace. But for some reason, he felt as if each step was weighing on his heart, stirring up conflicting emotions within him. He took the bag from her hand and opened it.
He looked at her with a mocking smile. “Condoms? Is that what you bought?”
Alice blushed when she heard hisughter.
She looked up, noticing the weight of his broad shoulders looming over her, his presence creating a pressure that frayed her already frayed nerves.
His eyes had a slight smile on their faces, which made them even more striking.
Trying to maintain herposure, she replied, “What''s wrong? Isn’t that what you wanted?”
Caden casually pulled out the small box. In his hands, it looked even smaller.
Her embarrassment increased, and the way Caden fiddled with the box felt even more suggestive than before.
“Who said I wanted this?” Caden looked at the box, then back at her. “I asked for cold medicine, not this.”
Alice stood there,pletely stunned.
His face was a mixture of shock and embarrassment.
“Huh? “Cold medicine?” he stammered, almost biting his tongue. “But that''s not what you implied.”
Caden smirked. “Did I imply that you should buy condoms?”
“You coughed,” she replied. “Obviously, you were too shy to say it openly, so you gave me a hint.”
"I just reminded you that I still have a cold and a sore throat."
Alice''s face burned with shame.
The first thing he did was try to take the box away.
Caden effortlessly raised his arm, dodging her attempt with ease. He nonchntly slipped the condoms into his pocket.
“Don''t get too excited. “We’ll use themter,” he joked.
Alice''s face turned red. "I''m not excited. I just don''t want you to have them."
Caden turned around and headed inside.
“You don''t want me to use them?” he sneered, twisting his words. “Miss Bet, are you more into up-close, direct contact?”
Alice was not naive. She immediately understood his insinuation and replied: "In your dreams!" Then she hard pushed against his back.
However, he barely moved, and she almost slipped because she was barefoot.
Caden reacted quickly, grabbing her by the waist and pulling her into his arms.
This caused his face to collide with his chest.
Ignoring the awkwardness, she reached for her pocket. Caden grabbed her wrist before she could reach it.
"Are you that desperate for them?"
Alice tried to pull her hand back, but her grip held firm.
Frustrated, she stomped on her foot.
Caden effortlessly dodged it.
Her bare foot mmed into the hard ground, sending a sharp pain shooting up her leg, making her gasp.
Caden''s gaze sharpened. "Rx. I’m starving and too tired to take care of you right now.”
His abrupt words caught Alice off guard once again.
Secondster, he let go of her.
“Feed me first,” he said, sliding his hand down her waist through her clothes. “When I’m satisfied, I’ll take care of you.”
Alice stood there,pletely speechless.
He despised the ease with which she understood what he meant.
And she hated even more how her body involuntarily responded to his flirtation, her thoughts wandering to indecent ces.
Unable to respond to his suggestivements and desperate to avoid further embarrassment, she pushed him away and ran to the bathroom.
Caden watched Alicia''s frantic escape, fighting the urge tough. Theughter bubbled up but quickly turned into a loud cough. His throat throbbed with difort. He rubbed his forehead, realizing his cold hadsted too long. Resigned, he ordered some cold medicine on his phone.
Alicia stood in the bathroom for a while. Looking at her reflection in the mirror, she muttered to herself, “It''s just sex. It''s nothing to write home about. Rx." She continued, “With a man like Caden, the more I fear him, the more arrogant he bes and the more he tries to boss me around. Why should I give him an advantage?” Taking a deep breath, Alicia walked out, regaining her usualposure.
Caden was lying on the couch, his head propped up and his eyes half-closed.
The weather soon turned cool, and feeling the freshness on the soles of her feet, Alice walked over and put on her slippers. Caden opened his eyes slightly, watching her every move.
“Did I say you could wear them?” I have asked.
Alice chose to ignore him, yfully rubbing her feet inside her shoes. So you''re a neat freak? Let''s see how you manage this, she thought.
Caden was speechless.
Ignoring his indifferent expression, Alice adopted a matter-of-fact tone and asked, “What would you like to eat?”
“You decide,” Caden replied.
She rolled her eyes and plopped down into a chair. “I don''t know how to cook. Should we order takeout?”
Caden didn''t move. "You didn''t cook during your marriage?"
"Yes, but I wasn''t very good at it," Alice replied.
She had learned to cook and make desserts, hoping to make Joshua feel wee when he came home. However, he often stayed out all night, leaving her alone to eat, which eventually made her lose interest in cooking.
Caden wasn''t about to budge. "I don''t eat takeout."N?vel(D)ra/ma.Org exclusive ? material.
Alice tried to convince him: “What I cook is worse than takeaway food. You may not survive. Think about it carefully.”
Unfazed, Caden calmly replied, “A culinary catastrophe? Sounds exciting. Now I’m really curious.”
She stared at him,pletely speechless.
