Chapter 84

    Chapter 84:

    ? ? ? ? ?

Alicia started and spun around. At some point, Caden must have silently moved behind her. His gaze was as cold as ice.

Feeling a surge of guilt, she almost dropped the cup she was holding. She forced a smile and said, “Didn''t I ask you to stay in the kitchen? What are you doing here?”

Caden replied ominously, “If I hadn''te, would I have discovered the big surprise you''ve prepared for me?”

Alice found herself speechless. Even though her prank had been an impromptu idea, she remained cautious. Still, she managed to catch her.

Sensing the icy tension radiating from Caden, Alicia knew better than to argue. With a reluctant sigh, she poured the toilet water down the drain. Then, she stood up straight and put her hands behind her back. She bowed her head and remained silent.

Caden towered over her, his broad chest making him look even more imposing. When his expression changed to one of stern authority, he looked like a strict schoolteacher reprimanding a misbehaving student.

Alice remained silent and obedient, but her defiant posture showed that she would not back down. She stared at his hand.

“Why are you still holding that cup?” I have asked. “What? Are you going to refill it when I leave you alone?”

Alicia''s lips twitched slightly as she threw the cup aside. She could tell that Caden was really angry, but after knowing him for so many years, she had witnessed his worst moods and felt no fear.

Her curiosity got the best of her. “How did you know I was nning to y a prank on you?”

Caden felt a wave of nausea as he recalled the earlier scene. At first, he hadn''t suspected anything, but something in his gut urged him to check on Alicia.

When Caden saw her fetching water from the toilet, his expression instantly darkened. He was relieved that he had walked in when she did. What would have happened if he hadn''t?

Honestly, she was looking forward to the pear soup. If she had identally consumed it, her obsessive cleanliness would have made her vomit for days. Caden''s voice was icy as he spoke tersely. “Wash your hands thoroughly before returning to the kitchen.”

Alicemented: “You still haven''t exined how you knew!”

Caden snapped, “Your stupid eyes gave you away!”

Alice felt a surge of anger. “Your eyes are even sillier!”

After the previous incident, Caden scrutinized her every move. Alicia also felt wary of him. She kept her behavior under control.

Before long, the shrimp were finished cooking, and Alicia even found time to prepare a dipping sauce. The dish was a vibrant mix of color, aroma, and vor. Caden stood behind her, watching her skillful movements. He was fully aware that she had perfected this routine over time. She had practiced tirelessly, all for Joshua.Content rights by N?velDr//ama.Org.

When Alicia picked up a te, she quickly stepped away, realizing the rim was too hot. Caden stepped in effortlessly, lifting the te with one hand.

Alice touched her ear and went to get the cutlery. The dining table was not big by any means. Once seated, they ced themselves at just the right distance from each other.

Alicia, hungry, dove into her food without hesitation. She ate slowly, gracefully and confidently, without rushing. With a shrimp in her mouth, she looked at Caden, who sat motionless.

“Why aren''t you eating anything?” he asked tentatively. “Is it not to your liking?”

Earlier, while she was cooking, he seemed quite satisfied. Caden kept a neutral expression and asked, “Is it too hot for you?”

Alice moved the food around in her mouth and blew lightly. "Forks."

"So tell me this: if I put my hand on the te, would it burn?"

Alice thought her question was strange and cocked her head in confusion. Instinctively she looked at her hands, but they were empty.

Then it hit her. “Oh, I’m just used to serving myself.”

Herment unexpectedly softened Caden''s demeanor. He stood up and took the cutlery for himself. Noticing Caden savoring his food, Alice saw her opportunity to ask, “When will you give me the rest?”

Caden continued eating calmly and replied, “The work is not finished yet. There is no need to hurry.”

Alice counterattacked: “But you promised you wouldn''t sleep with me!”

Caden looked up slightly. “I wasn''t saying that. “I was referring to the pear soup.”

Alice found herself momentarily speechless. Frustrated, she eximed, “Can you please stop giving me mixed signals?”

Caden calmly replied, “Which of my words misled you? Did I say anything that alluded to sex?”

Alice replied, “You knew exactly what you were suggesting.”

“I can''t speak for that, but your mind certainly seems to wander,” Caden replied after taking a leisurely sip of his soup. “But I understand. “With my abilities, it’s only natural that women can’t resist me after we’ve been intimate.”

Hisment left Alice speechless. Did that imply that he has been with many women? She gripped her fork tightly and asked, “Have you been with many?”

Caden smirked and asked, “What do you think?”

Alice studied his handsome face, trying to gauge his response. He was a handsome man in the prime of his life. Honestly, he looked like a yboy with a string of affairs and possibly even illegitimate children all over the world. He might even have an STD.

The fact that she had lost her virginity to someone so vile made her feel ufortable.

So when he brought her the pear soup, her movements were somewhat clumsy. “Eat this and then pay off your debt to me,” he said, his impatience showing.

Noticing his irritated expression, Caden remained motionless. “I’m too exhausted,” he replied.

Alice frowned. “What do you mean by that?”

    "Feed me," he said.
