Chapter 115

    Chapter 115:

    ? ? ? ? ?

Alice immediately shook her head. "No."

Caden raised an eyebrow. “So he doesn''t want to?” Or is he impotent?”

Alice hesitated before answering: "At the moment, it''s a bit of both."

Caden let out a quietugh. “I expected more from him.” Feeling his resolve waver, he didn''t press further. Instead, he asked, “What size underwear do you wear?”

Alice stood still for a second, then answered awkwardly, "Monica willeter. I''ll ask her to buy me something."

"Do you want him to know that you peed on yourself?" I have asked.

Alice blushed at her question. “No one would know if we kept it between us!”

"What if he asks you where your underwear is? What would you say?"

    Alice remained silent.

After a few moments, she sighed in resignation. “I’m wearing a size M.”

    "Medium, huh?"

Caden looked at her waist and legs. Both were slim, though with a little more flesh around the hips. Size M seemed reasonable.

He agreed and left the room.

Once he was gone, Alice closed her eyes, waiting for a moment of rest.

A few minutester, the door creaked open.

Hearing the unmistakable sound of leather shoes, Alice instinctively assumed it was Caden. “Are you back?” She sat up and pulled back the curtain, only to freeze.

    It was Joshua.

    He had brought food.

Joshua put the food down on the table and looked directly at her. “Who were you talking to?”

Alicia did her best to keep herposure. “I thought it was the nurseing.”

She reached for her phone under the nket, hoping to text Caden and dy hising upstairs.

Joshua, however, moved closer to the bed, keeping his eyes fixed on her, watching her every move. There was no way she could reach the phone without him noticing.

“How do you feel now?” Joshua asked with a frown.

Alice gave him a disdainful look. “Why are you here? Didn’t you say it was a delicate moment for you?”

Joshua replied, “The Gray family told me you were seriously injured. “I had toe check on you.”

Alicia was not convinced. She had seen him do this kind of theater before.

He opened the food container, revealing a seafood soup he had gone out of his way to buy. Next to it was a small bag of jewelry.

“I can''t stay long,” he added, looking at the bandage on her head and her paleplexion. “I have to leave soon. But Randolph has gone too far this time. Don’t worry, I’ll make sure things get sorted out.”

Although he had never shown much interest in her during their two years of marriage, Joshua had never allowed her to endure this level of abuse.

"The Gray family really went too far this time."

Alice lowered her eyelids, looking tired. “Let it be. “You have enough on your te.”

“This is different,” Joshua said, genuinely believing she was in pain and trying to show her kindness. “Have some of the soup. Do you want me to feed you?”

"I''m not hungry," Alice mumbled, closing her eyes.

At that moment, footsteps echoed from the hallway. Alicia instantly recognized them as Caden''s and let out a forced cough, hoping he would get the signal not to enter.

Joshua kicked him on the back. “Why are you coughing? Are you okay?”

You hear him, right, Caden? Don''t go in. Don''t go in! she thought desperately.

However, Caden didn''t seem to care.

As soon as she noticed Joshua was in the room, she not only refused to avoid the situation, but quickened her pace and walked straight in.

They quickly came face to face.

Alice''s heart sank, feeling the tension in the room instantly skyrocket.

    Joshua stood up. “Caden?”

Caden calmly put down the shopping bag he was carrying. “Word seems to spread fast. “You got here in no time.”

Joshua shifted ufortably, sensing that something was wrong.

For some reason, the atmosphere made him feel like Caden and Alicia were the couple, and he was the outsider.

“Looks like we’re both fast,” Joshua said, ncing at the bag. “Since when did you and Alicia get so close?”

Alicia didn''t want Caden to say anything that might escte the situation, so she spoke quickly. "He was at the Gray family home when I got hurt. He took me to the hospital afterwards."Content is property of N?velDrama.Org.

Caden gave him a cold look, making it clear he wasn''t interested in humoring him.

Joshua maintained his polite demeanor. “Oh, yeah? Thanks for that, Caden.”

Alicia spoke quickly, trying to get Caden away. “Mr. Ward, if you have other things to attend to, you may leave. “Thank you for today.”

Before Caden could respond, Joshua interjected, “What''s the rush? “We rarely get a chance to catch up.”

He pulled out a chair for Caden and smiled. “Caden, why don''t you sit down?”

However, it seemed like Caden had no interest in ying along.

"No need. I''m too busy for that," he replied.

Joshua walked over to the head of the bed and took Alicia''s hand. "I wanted to ask you how she is. Is she seriously hurt?"

Caden''s eyes lingered on their joined hands.

Feeling ufortable, Alice quickly pulled her hand away.

“Talk to the doctor. “I can give you all the details,” Caden said firmly.

Recognizing the tension, Joshua acknowledged. “Fair enough, Caden. “We won’t keep you any longer.”

When Caden reached the door, I heard Joshua''s voice. "I''ll stay with you tonight to keep youpany. How about that?"
