Chapter 120:
? ? ? ? ?
Just as Alice was about to put the grapefruit in her mouth, Caden leaned down and snatched it away with his mouth.
Their lips brushed for a brief moment before quickly separating from each other.
Alice froze.
She stared at Caden''s stunning face, just inches from her own.
The unexpected closeness made her heart pound. She feltpletely nervous.
Caden hovered over her, chewing the fruit slowly. His eyes locked with hers, his expression unreadable.
Alice''s heartbeat was quickening with every passing moment. Their chests were almost touching, and she feared he could sense her growing restlessness. Carefully, she reached out, trying to put some space between them.
Caden''s Adam''s apple bobbed as he swallowed the grapefruit.
The fresh citrus scent floated between them, filling the small space between their faces.
“There are two pieces left. “Will you feed them to me, or should I steal another kiss from you?” Caden asked.
Alice felt the tension rising inside her. Trying not to lose control, she quickly replied, “I’ll feed you.”
Caden smiled. “With your mouth?” I have joked.
"No! “With my hand!” answered Alice aloud.
Caden stepped back, finally giving her some space. Alicia took a moment topose herself. She grabbed thest two pieces of fruit and walked over to feed her.
He fed her without dy, making sure there was no unnecessary contact. The interaction was simple and quick.
Fortunately, Caden behaved well.
As the tension began to ease, Alice felt the atmosphere bing more pleasant again. She decided to speak up. “How does it taste? Do you like it?”
Caden looked straight at her. “It''s not that impressive. To be honest, it’s so-so,” he replied.
Caden had never been a fan of fruit. Grapefruit, in particr, had always seemed soft and annoying to him.
But today, as I ate it, I found it unexpectedly satisfying.
Alice grumbled under her breath, “Just so-so? “I’ve picked out the sweetest one for you.”
Caden turned his head and looked at her.
“It''s sweet, but not too sweet. It’s quite juicy,” he said, taking his time with each word. “I’d rate it a solid seven out of ten.”
Alice remained silent, not knowing what to say.
She had a strong suspicion that hisment had a double meaning. The way he said it made her almost certain of it.
He gave her thest piece of grapefruit. His eyes were fixed on the television, pletely absorbed in what was happening.
Alice followed his gaze and noticed the scene. The couple on the screen was kissing.
The sudden intimacy between the characters made her feel ufortable.
A moment ago they had been crying and arguing. Now, suddenly, they were kissing and getting closer. The change left her ufortable and confused.
There wasn''t even any background music. The only sound in the living room was the exaggerated thumping of the couple''s kiss on the television. The awkward silence made Alice feel ufortable. She quickly grabbed the remote, wanting to change the channel.
Cadenmented, “His kissing skills are pretty average, but still better than yours.”
Alice''s lips twitched in annoyance. "Why are youparing them to me?" she asked.
Caden looked at her calmly. “I''m just being honest,” he said.
Alice rolled her eyes, deciding to respond with equal frankness. “Maybe his kissing skills are better than mine, but yours are definitely worse. What do you think?”
Caden raised an eyebrow, amused by her response. “I see,” he said. “Looks like I need to practice a little more.” His words caught Alicia off guard.
Then, without wasting a second, Caden added, “Since you im your skills are better, why don''t you teach me?”
Alicia choked on her own breath, stunned by how direct he had been.
She red at him. He wasn''t being innocent; he was definitely up to no good.
Alice refused to fall into her trap. “I’m not interested in teaching anyone,” she said sternly.
Caden remained calm. He spoke slowly. “Just admit that your kissing skills aren''t that great. “We know each other well enough, and I won’t make fun of you by being honest.”
Alicia was easy to provoke most of the time, but this time, she stood her ground. “Laugh all you want. It won''t change my mind. “I’m not teaching you anything.”
“Okay. I understand. You’re just used to being second best.”
Caden was teasing her again.
Alice raised her head at his words. She took the bait without hesitation. “What do you mean by that?”
Caden kept his expression straight, making his ridiculous ims sound almost believable. “When ites to kissing skills, that male lead on TV is first, and you are second. It''s like our oldpetitions. For over a decade, you were always second.”
Alice stared at him,pletely speechless.
Caden had seeded in igniting Alicia''s anger. He made no effort to calm her down. Instead, he sat, watching with amusement as she slowly lost her temper.
Alice couldn''t hold back any longer. She leaned forward and bit her lips.
At first, his actions were filled with fierce determination. But as the moment dragged on, she felt shame welling up, mixed with a surge of nervous excitement. Her resolve began to waver, and she wanted to pull away.
Before she could do so, Caden wrapped his long arms around her and lifted her onto hisp. He used just enough strength to hold her close, making any escape impossible.
Their eyes met in silence.
Caden''s gaze was deep and unwavering. His voice held a hint of defiance. “If you''re going to teach me, do it well. Don’t make me look down on your efforts.”
Alice''s body stiffened for a moment, swallowing anxiously.
She was snuggledfortably in Caden''s arms. The heat from his body radiated through his thin shirt, making it difficult for her to think clearly.
Maybe he really had lost his mind.
At that moment, she found Caden undeniably attractive. I have watched her silently, solemnly. He wasn''t making any yful advances or teasing her. It was his natural presence and striking features that attracted her.
Slowly, Alice raised her hand and ran her fingers through her hair.
Caden''s temper was as stubborn as his hair. The roots were firm and the strands felt clean and soft against his skin. He had to make an effort to hold them as they slipped lightly through his fingers.
Alice leaned down and pressed her lips against his.
Her mind went nk. She wasn''t sure how to kiss him properly, and her movements were awkward and stiff, even more so than thest time they''d kissed. When she tried to continue, the bridge of her nose got in the way.
I have brushed against it repeatedly.
It was starting to frustrate her. She finally pushed her hand against her nose, trying to adjust.
Caden was speechless for a moment. “What are you doing?” I asked, sounding both confused and amused.
