Chapter 215

    ?Chapter 215:

Alicia remembered the excitement she felt when she bought the scarf, her heart fluttering with excitement and anticipation.

    But life was unpredictable.

That same day, she had a heated argument with Caden.

    She tried to console herself.

It was just a scarf, after all.

She had already given it to Caden; it was his to do with as he pleased.

Yet she couldn''t shake the image of him handing it to Ynda.

Maybe he had carelessly thrown it at her, mocking Alicia in her presence.

Although Ynda knew nothing of the scarf''s significance, the way Alice looked at it said it all.

Alice couldn''t take her eyes off it, and upon noticing it, Ynda smiled and asked, "Oh, do you admire this scarf too, Miss Bet?"

Alice calmly dried her hands and replied with an indifferent expression: "Not really.

    Men''s scarves aren''t my style.

    "

    “Fair enough,” Ynda replied softly.

“But it’s not just about scarves.

    Everything has to fit together.

Forcing things just because you want them only wastes time and effort.

    ”

Alicia immediately picked up on the underlying message.

Staring at Ynda, she replied firmly: “You may be exaggerating.

I assure you that I have no interest in anything that belongs to you.

    ”

    Ynda chuckled.

“What are you implying, Miss Bet? I must admit I’m a little lost.

    ”

Alicia smiled weakly, acknowledging Ynda''s skill at pretending.

Clearly, Ynda excelled in the art of keeping up appearances.

Not wanting to keep Caden waiting any longer, Ynda gracefully pulled a business card from her purse and offered it to Alicia.

“At dinner, Caden mentioned that you had designed a new product for hispany,” she said, keeping her smile serene.

    “I work with him.

If any problems arise with the products in the future, I would appreciate your guidance, Mrs.

    Bet.

    ”

Alice looked down and epted the card.

The name on the card read Ynda Moss, a senior chip development engineer who had been specially invited by Blizzard Group.

Alicia replied modestly: “I appreciate that, Miss Moss, but I don’t think I’m qualified to advise someone of your calibre.

The project was just a little side venture of mine.

” Ynda did not reply immediately.

An idea seemed to have just urred to him as he asked, “Miss Bet, do you happen to know why Caden returned to the country?”

It was clear that Ynda already knew the answer: a bluff veiled as a question, an implicit challenge.

Unfazed, Alicia replied, “Caden and I aren’t close enough to talk about these things.

    ”

“Really?” Ynda replied, momentarily surprised by Alicia’s calm.

Regaining herposure, she added politely, “Since it’s a secret, perhaps I shouldn’t say more.

    Goodbye, Mrs.

    Bet.

    ”

Alicia watched her leave, but did not follow her.

Her gaze returned to the business card in her hand.

On impulse, she pulled out her phone and searched for Ynda on the Inte.

Coming out of the bathroom, Alicia tried to contact her assistant, but saw a message from Caden: “Come out and find me.

    ”

Confused by his request, she chose not to respond.

Lost in her thoughts, she returned to the restaurant to meet with her assistant.

“Are you feeling unwell?” her assistant asked worriedly.

“You seem a little out of sorts.

    ”

Alicia shook her head and smiled reassuringly.

    “I’m fine.

    Thanks for tonight.

You should go home and rest.

    ”

Her assistant sighed in relief and nodded.

After saying goodbye, Alice looked around but didn''t see Caden anywhere.

However, as she walked down the stairs, she finally saw him.

Amidst a sea of ??luxury cars and bustling people, Caden stood out effortlessly.

He stood a few feet away, deep in conversation with Ynda.

Ynda held a steaming cup of hot beverage, smiling as she took a sip, but immediately flinched as the liquid scalded her.

Startled, she spilled the drink all over her clothes and herposure gave way to panic.

Caden frowned and quickly removed the scarf from Ynda''s neck, using it to wipe the hot drink off her hands to prevent burns.

Ynda''s eyes instantly reddened, biting her lip to hold back the pain, lookingpletely distraught.

After a few moments, Caden finished cleaning her hands and tossed the tissue into a nearby trash can.

    She paused, something bothering her.

    The scarf looked familiar.

Alicia watched his actions from a distance, her eyes blinking as she observed his seemingly nonchnt removal of the scarf.

She decided not to linger and stepped away from the unfolding drama.

Just as she was about to leave, Caden noticed her.

He narrowed his eyes slightly before turning to Ynda.

"Have the driver take you to the hospital to get that checked out," he ordered.

Ynda''s voice trembled.N?velDrama.Org is the owner.

    "Caden, what about you?"

"I have things to take care of.

Don''t worry about me," he replied, signaling to the driver, who immediately opened the car door for Ynda.

After seeing the client off, Alicia noticed Caden approaching her.

He looked determined, and she realized there was no escape now.

“Haven’t you seen my message?” Caden asked.

    Alice kept her gaze downcast.

    “I’ve seen it.

What do you want?” Her cold, distant response seemed to irritate him.

A few days ago, their conversations had been flirtatious and filled withughter, but now she acted as if he were a stranger.

“Nothing serious; I just wanted to catch up,” Caden said, his eyes subtly scanning her exposed neck and arms.

He was relieved to see no signs of an allergic reaction.

Then he asked, lowering his voice: "Did the investment go well?"

    Alice nodded.

    “Yes.

    ”

    Caden frowned, his impatience growing.

“Is your neck stiff? Why won’t you look at me? Look up.

    ”

She remained silent, her gaze fixed downward.

Feeling frustrated, Caden reached out, trying to tilt her chin up, but Alicia quickly stepped back, dodging his touch.

    His face immediately darkened.

“What’s that supposed to mean?” Caden asked.
