Chapter 345:
Ciara remarked, “Caden always moves with such precision and caution.
It’s rare to see him slip up.” Except for that one time when he lost control and attacked Joshua.
When Caden first returned, Joshua’s arrogance had been unbearable, but Caden chose to endure it.
That was until Joshua crossed the line by kidnapping and tormenting Alicia.
Caden could not let that go.
For her sake, he broke his own rules.
Alicia lowered her gaze, memories of their blissful time at the mountain lodge surfacing, filling her with a familiar, dull ache.
Their connection had always been strong—undeniable.
But at its core, their bond was delicate, easily fractured by life’splications.
Without the physical aspect of their rtionship, she knew Caden had little reason to keep showing her kindness.
Why, then, was he so concerned about Shelia’s threats against her?
Pushing the confusion aside, Alicia refocused on the matter at hand.
She leaned closer to Ciara and quietly shared a few words with her.
Ciara nodded, her expression confident.
“That sounds like a solid n.
It’s Shelia’s Achilles’ heel.”
She then added, “Allow me to handle the model arrangements.
I’m more familiar with the situation, and it will be easier for me to manage.”
Alicia couldn’t help but feel a sense of relief at Ciara’s eagerness and epted the offer without hesitation.
By the end of the day, Ciara announced that everything was set and was simply waiting for Alicia’s instructions.
Alicia strategically spread the word about ate-night gathering, knowing it would attract attention.
After the event concluded, she yed her part wlessly, feigning drunkenness as she stumbled out the door.
Her assistant rushed to her side, eximing, “Ms.
Bet, you really shouldn’t have had so much to drink.
You know your limits!”
Alicia, taken aback by the outburst, automatically replied, “I’m sorry.
I promise I won’t overdo it next time.”
The assistant leaned in closer, whispering conspiratorially, “Ms.
Bet, remember, we’re just putting on a show.”
Alicia paused, momentarily shocked.
Then it dawned on her: she hadn’t consumed any alcohol at all.
So why was she feeling this wave of guilt?
Alicia let out a softugh and checked the rearview mirror, confirming that Shelia was indeed tailing them.
She exchanged a meaningful nce with her assistant.
“Seriously? You’re nning to head back to the office? It’s sote! Why would you want to pull an all-nighter?” her assistant said.
Alicia muttered a vague response.
With a mock frown, her assistant mmed the car door shut.
“Fine then! Go back by yourself.
I’m not spending the night working with you!”
Without another word, Alicia hit the gas and sped away.
Shelia,ser-focused, elerated to keep up with Alicia in her own vehicle.
Alicia’s assistant slipped out from her hiding spot and sent a quick text: “She’s on your tail.
Stay alert, Ms.
Bet.
I’ll catch up soon.”Content rights by N?velDr//ama.Org.
