Chapter 1207

    ?Chapter 1207:

Laney looked radiant, almost otherworldly, like a nymph stepping out of a dream. “Cliff, do I look good?” she asked softly, her eyes shimmering with anticipation.

Cliff’s expression remained calm, but his gaze lingered on her for a moment longer than usual. “Yes,” he replied simply.

Once inside the car, Cliff closed the doors and rolled up the tinted windows. Without a word, he leaned over and kissed Laney, catching herpletely off guard.

Laney’s breath hitched, her heart pounding as his lips pressed against hers. The faint taste of tobo mixed with something uniquely his left her both thrilled and disoriented.

When they finally pulled apart, Cliff looked at her with a faint, teasing smile. “It’s the first time you’re wearing this dress, and you’re already thinking about wetting it?”

Laney’s cheeks turned scarlet. “Stop exaggerating—it’s not like that!”

Cliff chuckled but didn’t reply. He knew better. Her allure was undeniable, and it had a way of leaving him off bnce.

By the time they reached the restaurant, Cliff hadposed himself. He led Laney to Madison’s side and stepped back, letting Madison escort Laney inside. Curious, Laney looked up at Madison and asked, “Why isn’t Cliffing in with us?”

Madison gave her a knowing smile. “He’s being a gentleman, escorting Miss Foster inside. Laney, Miss Foster will be part of our family soon. You should make an effort to get along with her.”

Laney’s heart sank. A sharp ache coursed through her as she turned to nce at Cliff. He stood tall andposed, as captivating as ever, but for the first time, he felt so distant.

Not long after, the Foster family’s car arrived.

Juliet stepped out gracefully, wearing an elegant dark green V-neck dress. Her beauty was undeniable, her aura poised and confident. Spotting Cliff, she smiled as she approached him. “Is your adorable little cousin here tonight?” she asked, her tone light and yful.

Cliff’s expression darkened slightly, his voice sharp. “Why do you care?”

“I’m just curious. You’ve spent the past month having fun with her while I was stuck managing our parents. Don’t you think you owe me for that?” Juliet replied, linking her arm with his. Cliff gently removed her arm and remained silent.

Juliet’s gaze fell on a small hair tie around his wrist. Its delicate pendant unmistakably resembled Laney’s style. A knowing smile spread across Juliet’s face.

With a sly tone, Juliet said, “You know, when we talkedst, you said you needed a few months to figure things out with Laney before moving forward with me.”

“I thought you meant you’d put some distance between you two, but now…” She let out a softugh. “It seems like you’ve only grown closer. Tell me, Cliff—when we get married, who do you think will be more heartbroken? You or her?”
