“Nessy, just stop it for now. Vulpix seems to at least have resigned that she can’t escape, but it won’t let itself get captured either.”
Vanessa and Vulpix had a less then Epic showdown, wir one side throwing Pokéballs and the other shooting Embers at them.
Said Vulpix refrained from attacking the Vines holding it down and Bulbasaur, Sabrina let them, but has told Bulbasaur to be a bit more gentle.
And indeed, Vulpix doesn’t look as uncomfortable now, even having recovered a bit.
The glowing Effect of Flash Fire also long ended, making Ember a bit weaker, but still sufficient for the Pokéballs.
Besides the one were Vannesa threw it with all her mind, but the tragedies still deflect and missed Vulpix by a small margin.
If it weren’t for the Ball shattering upon impact, Vanessa would have probably tried again.
”Feeling Better? I am really sorry about that.”
While supervising Vanessa, she took out her new Pokémon, treating its wound on the forehead.
Or at least spoiling him, as there doesn’t seem to be much wound.
But after talking nicely to him, giving him treats and a caring attitude, Abra seems to be less repudiating.
He is still not very amicable, but more in a wait-and- see approach way.
The acknowledgment of Genders is because Sabrina remembered her Pokédex, and how it can give General Information about an individual specific.
Bulbasaur, Abra and Growlithe are male, making Vulpix the only female Pokémon of them.
Vulpux meanwhile, slowly draws her gaze to Sabrina and Abra increasing more often.
She can’t distinguish exactly what she wants, but at least doesn’t seem to want to play anymore.
”Okay, Bulbasaur, could you let her down?”
”Bul?”
”It’s fine. Even if she is going to run away, it won’t be something bad. Not that I think she will.”
”Bulbasaur.”
The little Fire Pokemon was let down without complication, only Vanessa sending Sabrina a little Glare.
More of a Pout, actually. Trying to glare while pouting..
Sabrina doesn’t give them or her panting any attention.
Not being able to conserve strength is her Problem, for now at least.
With that thought, Sabrina moves her gaze to Vulpix, who approaches them in a speed mindful of potential injuries.
”You two are Friends, right?”
Vulpix looks up to Sabrina a bit, which is easier because she knees and is a bit away, before slowly nodding.
Seeing Vulpux answering like that, Abra moves his Head to in strong affirmative.
”Encore and Disable, was that both you?
You should already be able to use Disable, while you used Encore for certain.”
A shake to the left and right.
”Encore was you, Disable someone targeting ore attacking you? Both or one of you specifically?”
From her Gaze it’s easy to guess she doesn’t like how pinpointed Sabrina’s question is, but nods nonetheless.
”Your Encore, it was taught to you right? Locking Growlithe down on Ember was probably around your second time outside of learning or practicing it.”
Yep, she doesn’t like it all.
”A Game of Chase, I presume. Something in that Abra would be a formidable Opponent.
You generally had someone teach you Moves, as Telekinesis isn’t something a wild Abra would normally learn.
They are to reliant on their mind reading and teleport ability, while sleeping much of the time, so without an Incentive, he wouldn’t learn more Moves.”Reading on Amazon or a pirate site? This novel is from Royal Road. Support the author by reading it there.
That’s something Sabrina learned from the Pokédex.
The Move Pool she know or at least can remember is only for Moves wild Pokémon are guaranteed to learn as they grow stronger and older.
At their own initiative, they can learn other moves, even though it isn’t uncommon that it will be one they would learn anyway with Time.
On the other Hand, the Pokédex Information about Abra also said that it’s highly likely that it will learn anything in the Wild since it can feed itself from berries and always escape predators.
Not always always, but between winning the Lottery two times and an Healthy Abra getting surprised before it can react in its natural Habit, one should bet for the Lottery.
Well, that is also heavily influenced by the Numbers of Abra’s compared to the of Lotteries, but one gets the Gist.
With Mind Reading even picking up Ill Intent while Sleeping, which it does 18 Hours a Day, and an instinctual Teleport which every Abra can, catching it is supposed to be hard.
…. Not her Fault when it teleported directly in the trajectory of the Pokéball!
Oh, Abra gives her Glare.
Probably wanting to say not everyone misses at such a big Margin from the intended Target.
”Hey, not my Fault! Everyone can make mistakes!”
*clap*
”Anyway, you were suddenly ambushed. Abra managed to get away somehow, while his ability to levitate seems to be cut off.
Dunno how that works, but good Job.
You probably chased after him or searched for him, meeting us hovering over him.
Were it Humans that attacked you, by chance?”
Seeing how it steps back and the unpleasant expression, yes it were.
And skilled enough to determine an Encore while using the Chance for Disable.
Huh, I really have no Idea.
Well, not entirely true but…
”So, you both have some elder of some kind which took care of you.
Otherwise you wouldn’t be so overly cautious with your injury. At least, I take it a totally wild Pokémon doesn’t have the Luxury.
You were also ready to talk with me after being caught in a Trap, not trying to dislodge yourself or anything.
I can’t guess how many there are of you, but it will probably be a child loving Pokémon, as both of you are pretty young.
Neither of you also showed to behave yourself like thinking it’s you two against the world, with only the Elder as an ally.
Which you probably should have developed if he was permanently shielding you or otherwise got all the Time the impression the world is hostile.
It can be that you just learned things differently, but that Mindset would be the easiest one on the Mind.
Which makes me think you have regular friendly interactions with other Pokémon.
In the End, I can’t say anything for sure, besides your confidence that everything will be fine, even after meeting hostile Humans which didn’t follow you until here.”
Vulpix scoffs at the last Sentence, but grew visible tense while she explained.
Abra looks at the Ground before himself, before nodding.
He then lifts five of his six fingers, indicating the Number of Pokémon.
”I take it you counted yourself and Vulpix too?”
A Nod. The more it goes on, the more concerned Sabrina grew.
She couldn’t pinpoint it, but something made her restless.
”Amazing! You are like the Pikachu from the new Movie!”
Vanessa was really amazed by how Sabrina pointed out details and deduction she wouldn’t have thought about.
Sabrina, on the other Hand feels like she made 20% deductions, 30% gut feeling and 50% fantasising about stuff and then finding a reason why it’s true.
Which isn’t wrong, since she noticed the oddities, found an explanation in an Elder who took care of them, which was just a stray thought that popped into her Head, which she then tried to rationalise.
”Okay, let’s go. I hate to say, but we, or at least you two, should find the Elder we just talked about.
I have a bad feeling, even if that is a very bad reason.”
Vulpix looked offended at that, but Abra looked her deeply in the eyes, probably doing some psychic stuff, before nodding.
The little Fox looked betrayed, but the emotion was overshadowed by concern as Abra looks at her.
Somehow, they talked with each others it seems.
As the little Fire Pokemon was ready to jump of into the Forrest, Abra took hold of her with Telekinesis.
She could probably have spooked it off, but didn’t move because of her trust in Abra.
Abra meanwhile, took a Pokéball from Sabrina’s belt, in which are the ones ready to throw.
Shocked, Vulpix gets hit by the Pokéball directly in the Face, having used Telekinesis while putting force behind it.
Naturally, some resistance was offered, but it seems Vulpix gave it up after the saving blinking, as the light and movement of the Ball decreased significantly.
Without hesitation, Abra used Telekinesis again to to move the Pokéball in Sabrina’s Hand and then took her other Hand.
Before realising what is going on, Abra already used the Move which was the biggest Factor for Sabrina to catch it.
Teleport.
