Nothing was going to stop Darwin apart from the referee''s whistle, and that was there to stop him right on time.
It turns out the linesman on the left had his g raised as soon as he caught sight of Darwin receiving the ball in an offside position.
His body was in line with Adolf and Aima''s bodies but his right leg was stretched out a bit and that was what kept him in an offside position.
The referee didn''t see the linesman raise his g immediately and now he had to blow his whistle before Darwin could get to the goalpost with the ball.
"So, he was offside," Jim said.
"Yeah, you can see that his right foot is way past the line, Dave and the entire Unique FC squad will be relieved by that decision," Steve said.
There was nothing Darwin could do other than stomp his feet on the floor in anger before slowly jogging back.
''That was close, who knows what would have happened if he had been on side.'' The goalkeeper said subconsciously before breathing a sigh of relief.
<The highest possibility is him scoring the goal and opening the score but there''s a chance that he could have messed up and you would end up preventing the goal, it would be a wild save>
''Yeah, but I don''t think I want to take that chance.'' The goalkeeper replied subconsciously.
The free kick was taken by Unique FC and y continued.
The guests were holding onto the ball and passing it around smoothly, they didn''t seem to be under any form of pressure from the hosts despite almost conceding a goal.
There were certain situations in football where things like that would be ignored, and the referee wouldn''t even bother to check VAR no matter how many times the victims ask.
Minino received the ball from Martinez and tried to dribble past the midfielder right in front of him before quickly passing it to Carlos who had two yers heading towards.
The winger held on to the ball and tried to find a way past both yers but in the end, one of them ended up sending the ball out for a throw-in.
He could have passed the ball to any of his teammates in the area but he didn''t get the chance to do that.
"The ball is out for a throw-in," Jim said.
"Just look at how Frono FC are keeping tabs on Mateo Smith to make sure that he doesn''t have enough space to do anything dangerous." Steve expressed. "They''ve got the right back and right midfielder watching him, it''s not exactly man-marking, but they are not giving him any space at all."
"Looks like they haven''t gotten over that hat trick yet, let''s see if that will stop Mateo from doing something today," Jim said.
Minino was the one taking the throw and because Frono FC yers were making his teammates close by, he had to throw the ball all the way back to Norman.
"Norman, over here!" The goalkeeper yelled as soon as the right back received the ball.
Norman didn''t hesitate and quickly passed the ball to the goalkeeper because he had an idea of what he had in mind.
Dave quickly received the ball and quickly stretched it further toward the edge of the box with Darwin quickly heading toward him.
"Looks like Dave''s about to do it," Jim said with anticipation boiling in his voice.
Before the striker could get to him, the goalkeeper pulled his leg back and sent the ball flying to the goalpost.
"He has sent it flying!"
The ball was flying down the middle as Frono FC''s goalkeeper retreated toward his goalpost, and just as the ball got closer to the goalpost, it quickly curved toward the left a little.
The goalkeeper dived toward the ball and only managed to get the tip of his glove on it, fortunately for him, that was all that was needed to keep the ball out as it ended up hitting the crossbar before falling over the bar for a corner kick.
"Oh, what a save from Emerson!"<novelnext></novelnext>
After that ball out like that, his teammates quickly gather around him to shake and pat him on the head but most of them were wondering how Dave was able to pull off a shot like that from that far.
"So close." The goalkeeper muttered before stomping his foot on the floor.
He wasn''t angry or frustrated, he was just sad that his shot didn''t go in.
"He didn''t just get better at goalkeeping, but he can do things like that now," Darwin muttered as he stared at the goalkeeper with a shocked expression on his face.
Dave quickly shifted his gaze toward him and when the two made eye contact, the striker quickly turned away from him and began to walk back to his goalpost for the corner kick.
"Dave hasn''t really been able to score with those goalpost shots since he surprisingly started pulling them off during their pre-season matches but they get deadlier every single time, he''s going to get a few if not a couple of goals with them if he can keep pulling them off." Steve articted.
"He did score against Eibar from the center of the pitch, it''s just a matter of time before he scores from the goalpost it may be in this match or not." Jim expressed.
The ball had gone out through the left and now, Mateo stepped up to take the corner kick.
The yers were running around inside the box now and the winger was just waiting for the referee''s whistle.
It didn''t take long before the referee blew his whistle but the winger wasn''t too eager to send the ball in.
He stared at the ball for about five seconds before he slowly took two steps backward.
He quickly closed up on the ball and sent it flying into the box from the top but he didn''t just send it into the middle to nobody in particr, there was someone near the edge of the box, and that was who he sent it to.
By the time Frono FC yers could figure out what was happening, the ball had already gotten to Henry who had already pulled his leg back and mmed the ball with it.
"Henry!"
He sent the volley flying toward the right side of the goalpost as the goalkeeper dived toward the area, but there was no need for that as the ball ended up hitting the floor before hitting the post and rolling out for a goal kick.
"Oh, it hit the post, that was so close to going in," Jim said.
"Unique FC have been getting really good chances but they still have that finishing problem," Steve said. "They need to work on that if they''re going to hold their ground this season attacking-wise."
"Yeah."
The match continued with Unique FC still dominating the game and now their domination intensity had gone up.
Frono FC were lookingckluster now that the first was about toe to an end and Unique FC were using that to the best of their advantage.
Mateo received the through pass from Henry down the middle and without thinking twice, the winger sent the ball flying toward the goalpost from about thirty yards out.
"Mateo!"
