Keith woke up in a bed. It was strange because he did not remember going to bed or even leaving work, for that matter. He tiredly sat up in the bed... and promptly fell down again. His muscles felt very weak. This was when he realized something was very wrong.
He warily glanced around the room. The room that he was in- His? No, not his. This couldn''t be his room. Still, a nagging feeling told him otherwise. The room was a standard, yet slightly old styled, bedroom with an elegant bed that he was in, a bookshelf with many different books and titles that he could not read, and a polished mirror with a table and chair underneath.
A masculine figure opened the door and walked into the room. He was about 5''7 with a goatee and some kind of noble clothes with colors of blue and red. He walked up to me and positively beamed at my face.
"Honey, Come look! Our child''s awake!"
The sound of rustling fabric came from the doorway before an absolutely gorgeous woman entered the room. She wore the same kind of noble clothes with a frilly dress and the same colors of red and blue. She walked up to me before gasping. If you stumble upon this narrative on Amazon, it''s taken without the author''s consent. Report it.
She turned to the man. "Is it normal for him to be not crying?"
That was when it struck him. That he had died from exhaustion and been turned into a baby, his long dreams of getting a good job that pays well and enjoying myself for once gone, and the revelation that these people were his parents. That was what made him cry. However, it was not like any normal baby cry. He just sat there in complete silence while a stream of tears fell from his eyes and drenched the bedsheets.
This was a cry you made when you were so close to achieving the thing you thought you would never get, never have, and always see wherever you went, yet weren''t able to grasp.
His (new) Dad put his hand over his mouth at this sight while his (still new) Mom swept him up in her arms and rocked him a bit before setting him down on the bed and tucking him in. They both did a little wave before walking out of the room. As he relaxed a bit at the comfy pillows and the not-so-comfy mattress, a blue box appeared at the edge of his vision.

Keith looked at the stats- HIS stats, in wonder. He would have been surprised, but after all this, he just accepted it as a part of his world now. This is kind of like those lit.. lit-something books. They were apparently like video games. Another joy that Keith never got time to experience. With that thought, Kael went to sleep.
