Being a Valkyrie is not without its luxuries. They may be bound by an endless set of rules, but it is ensured that they live a good life and have a share in the luxury that surrounds them. Each Valkyrie has her own maid who looks after her devotedly. They ensure that the Valkyrie is always in good condition—tidy, healthy and in high spirits. These maids have an open ear for the Valkyrie''s worries and troubles. They comb and braid their hair into the required braided hairstyle, and they also clean their armor, their body, and arrange everything else. The Valkyries do not have to worry about all these mundane things. They can fully focus on their task alone.
Seraphina has not done much yet, but her place in history is already guaranteed. She was added to the annals of the Empire, and a portrait of her was painted, immortalizing her beauty on a canvas forever. Surely people in the future would look back at her in awe. Other Valkyries will see her image, and train hard to be just like her—similar as she did when she saw these awe inspiring portraits and statues of past Valkyries and heroes. She got along with everyone, and they all looked up to her. From lowly servants, simple soldiers, captains, noblemen, to the Emperor''s closest followers—they all very much respected and loved her. All around her, whispers of admiration echoed. Seraphina always adhered to protocol, and it quickly became clear that she indeed was a wonderful addition to the Valkyries.
As Seraphina got to know the other Valkyries closer, they formed a strong bond among themselves. Their shared purpose as protectors of the Empire forged an unbreakable camaraderie. They trained together, fought together, and faced adversity as an united front. Despite their individual strengths, it was this collective unity that made them truly formidable. Seraphina found comfort in their friendship, finding solace amidst her newfound responsibilities.
All in all, Seraphina got along fine. But a little sting in her heart remained. Every time she would walk past an emblem of Kasthra, her old home province, she would feel it. The severed connections to her past life, the love she had known, and the friends she had left behind lingered like a bittersweet abstract melody, secretly haunting her thoughts amidst the grandeur of her new life as a Valkyrie.
