Chapter 2:Sister, you are so personality

    Blood flowed freely!

The man stared with bulging eyes, immediately reaching out to grab Shen Yue.

    "Help... please..."

The vines dragged him away rapidly. Shen Yue only had time to wave goodbye.

"What a pity," Shen Yue said, glancing in the direction the vines had disappeared. She quickly turned away, knowing she would be the next target.

Having absorbed the tenant''s energy, those vines would grow increasingly powerful... to a terrifying degree.

    She suddenly looked back again.

    "Something feels off," she muttered.

Despite her words, Shen Yue still chose to leave.

But not long after Shen Yue''s figure vanished, a tall silhouette emerged from the nearby woods.

The newcomer lingered for a few seconds, about to depart when they suddenly stopped.

Because the person who had seemingly left earlier was still there. It turned out Shen Yue hadn''t actually gone. She looked somewhat surprised: "I didn''t expect you to be hiding here?"

"You killed him," the woman stated coldly and calmly.

"You saw it yourself just now, he was dragged away by those vines. What does it have to do with me?"

Shen Yue took a few steps closer, her gaze falling on the other woman''s left shoulder. There was a tear there, with a conspicuous bloodstain on the white garment.

Her eyes lingered there for a moment before Shen Yue said with a smile:

"I even saved him once before, but do you know what he said? He said you were trying to kill him."

"Nonsense," the other party denied flatly, her attitude indifferent.

Shen Yue retreated imperceptibly, neither confirming nor denying.

"But now he''s dead and can''t testify, my beautiful sister. You''re scaring me."

The other woman snorted lightly. "So what?"

"Hmm..." Shen Yue suddenly moved forward quickly again. "So why don''t we go together?"

    Kun Yao: "..."

"Even though I''m scared, you saw earlier that I do have some abilities. My beautiful sister, you''re so gorgeous, let me protect you. Plus, those vines just killed another person, who knows how terrifying they''ve become! It''s better if we look out for each other."

Close enough now, Shen Yue could finally see the other''s face clearly. Her breath caught for a moment, momentarily dazed by the close-up impact of the other''s beauty.

Kun Yao gave her a cold look. "Thanks, but stay away from me."

Shen Yue smiled brightly, her pretty eyes curving into crescents:

    "Oh no, I won''t, I won''t. I''m sticking with you, sister."

She was about to reach out, but Kun Yao immediately dodged and left without looking back. The narrative has been stolen; if detected on Amazon, report the infringement.

Glancing at her outstretched hand, Shen Yue chose to follow.

"Oh sister, you have such personality. I like it."

    ...

On the strange and terrifying small town streets, a few incongruous phrases drifted by.

"Sister, why are you so fast? Wait for me!"

"I''m so tired from walking. Can we rest?"

"Sister must be tired too. Want me to give you a massage? Your shoulders and neck must be sore. I''m very skilled..."

Kun Yao finally snapped: "Don''t you have anything else to say? Do you think you''re on vacation?"

Shen Yue blinked and said with a smile: "No, I know it''s dangerous. By the way, sister, where do you think those terrifying vines dragged people off to? And are all the captured tenants dead?"

Kun Yao''s face turned icy, her voice even colder: "If you keep talking in that voice, I''ll take you to find those vines right now so you can see the results for yourself."

"My voice?" Shen Yue tilted her head. "What''s wrong with it?"

"Do you want to die?" Her tone dropped to freezing.

Shen Yue narrowed her eyes, finally speaking normally: "Not at the moment."

    Kun Yao''s expression softened slightly:

"I don''t want to meddle in your affairs. You don''t need to keep following me. Focus on how to survive."

Shen Yue smiled: "I''m not following you. Is this road only for you to walk on?"

Kun Yao gave a cold laugh without responding further.

Shen Yue still trailed behind her, having noticed Kun Yao was also heading towards the town center.

Turning a corner, a horrifying scene appeared before them.

The two quickly retreated behind the wall.

A vine was dragging a person whose head was already hanging limp. It pulled the corpse swiftly into the darkness.

"How terrifying. Another tenant gone. I wonder how many of us are left."

Kun Yao: "At least you''re still alive and kicking."

    Shen Yue: "..."

Shen Yue followed behind Kun Yao, who suddenly changed direction towards an old European-style building. It was a church, though now dilapidated. In the faint moonlight, it looked even more eerie and sinister.

Shen Yue naturally followed, but saw Kun Yao quickly open the door and enter. When she went in, she was surprised to find light inside.

In the ruined church hall, there were actually a few living people. Seeing them enter, everyone was startled. Then someone warned:

    "Quick, close the door!"

Shen Yue hastily shut the door. Scanning the room, she realized all the windows were tightly covered.

It seemed to be to block the faint light, which came from a thin candle in the center.

This candle illuminated the hall where several people huddled around a broken long table in the middle, their faces filled with anxiety.

They were all tenants Shen Yue had seen before, though her impressions were vague.

Two women and two men. The women were in their twenties, one boy looked barely of age, and there was an older middle-aged man.

"You''re back?" One of the women in the hall, wearing red with short hair, stood up. "Are there any others?"

The speaker was tenant 96, named Ding Jiajia. Beside her was another woman who looked older with naturally curly hair, tenant 94 Xue Yangyang.

Tenant 93 Qi Zeming, the young boy with eye-catching dyed gray hair, sat to the side, scratching his head irritably with an impatient expression.

The only older tenant, 92-year-old Lin Liang, stood silently to one side.

"No more," Kun Yao answered coldly.

Shen Yue found a spot to sit. "I didn''t expect to find a group."

"What''s the use? Are we all just waiting here to die together?"

Ding Jiajia looked very disappointed, slumping back down.

Shen Yue rubbed her chin. "Not necessarily. There might be strength in numbers."

Xue Yangyang chimed in: "But the tenants who''ve come in now may be all that''s left of us."

The boy raised his head, saying seriously: "We can''t just sit here waiting for death. I think we should make a break for it, leave this town."

Shen Yue''s gaze lingered on his distinctive gray hair, thinking: Young people, so full of energy!

    "Well..." Xue Yangyang hesitated.

Lin Liang shook his head. "It won''t work. Those terrifying vines are everywhere, ready to take lives at any moment. Plus, we''re in the town and have no idea what''s outside. What if it''s even more dangerous out there?"

Ding Jiajia agreed: "And it''s dark now. We can''t see the way clearly."

Qi Zeming suddenly asked: "What time is it now?"

Shen Yue checked the time. "7 AM."

Kun Yao''s cold voice rang out: "But it hasn''t gotten light at all."

Indeed, outside was still pitch black.

Everyone''s expressions changed slightly. Suddenly there was silence. They had all noticed this abnormality earlier.

This was a small world, not the normal one. Anything could happen here.

The silence didn''t last long. Seeing everyone frozen, Shen Yue stood up and stretched.

    She glanced upstairs:

"I don''t think we''ll be going out anytime soon. We''ve been running all night, I''m exhausted. Are there any rooms in here?"

"There are, but are they fit for living..." Ding Jiajia''s face showed a hint of disgust.

Shen Yue paused. "I''m not picky, any room will do. I''m too tired, I need to rest for a bit."

With that, she ignored the others'' reactions and headed straight for the creaking wooden stairs leading to the second floor.

Upstairs, she immediately smelled an unpleasant odor of decay.

As Shen Yue frowned, footsteps sounded behind her.
