Chapter 28: Kun Yao Silently Turned Her Head

"I picked them up near that coffin," Kun Yao said quickly.

"What kind of lie is that? How come I couldn''t pick any up?" Shen Yue looked at the object in her hand with confusion.

This bone knife had clearly been polished, but there was a red tinge at the tip. Shen Yue touched it and found that while the entire bone knife was cold, only the tip was hot.

"It''s from the female ghost who scratched me. She tried to drag me in, but I almost pulled her out instead. This is her arm bone."

Kun Yao''s tone was calm, but her words were chilling.

Fan Quguang was stunned. His mouth hung open as he looked from Kun Yao to Shen Yue and back again.

"Hey, why are you looking at us like that?" Shen Yue noticed Fan Quguang''s gaze.

"Nothing, nothing. It''s a look of admiration," Fan Quguang quickly said.

"Wait a minute, something seems off..." Shen Yue suddenly looked ahead.

"Shit, they''re all coming this way!" Fan Quguang peeked out and realized that all the living dead villagers were walking towards them from about a hundred meters away.

    They had been discovered.

Although they had weapons, there were too many puppets on the other side. The group chose to retreat.

    "Run!"

At this moment, Fan Quguang ran the fastest, directly to the front. The little ghost on his shoulder couldn''t stay put and ended up clinging to Fan Quguang''s neck, hanging on his back.

So the situation became: Shen Yue and Kun Yao were at the back, covering the retreat, running and killing the living dead that caught up.

A living dead villager caught up!

Shen Yue took the bone knife Kun Yao gave her and lightly stabbed it. The villager convulsed all over, then began to rot from the wound. In just a few seconds, the villager disappeared into thin air without even making a sound.

"Oh? This works great," Shen Yue was delighted.

She experimented again, this time just cutting the living dead''s arm. The result was the same.

Fan Quguang, running ahead, felt something was off. He looked back and saw Kun Yao had stopped, watching Shen Yue behind her.

Following her gaze, he saw Shen Yue holding the bone knife, harvesting living dead villagers almost one by one.

Shen Yue was like popping bubbles. When a living dead caught up, she would lightly poke it, and it would dissipate into the air.

"My God, she''s playing with them. Is that thing really that effective?" Fan Quguang was shocked, and his courage grew. He stopped running.Support creative writers by reading their stories on Royal Road, not stolen versions.

He also took out the bone knife Kun Yao had given him, waiting for a villager to catch up.

    He stabbed twice.

But there was no reaction. The villager just dodged Fan Quguang''s bone knife and continued to lunge at him.

Seeing this, Kun Yao silently turned her head away.

"No way?" Fan Quguang, who had been waiting for the villager to die completely, was startled. His eyes were full of disbelief.

"Hurry up, what are you doing?" Shen Yue quickly pulled him away.

There were more and more living dead villagers. It wasn''t clear where so many villagers came from - there weren''t that many coffins, how could they fit so many people? Yet so many had crawled out.

There were too many of them; she couldn''t handle them all.

No wonder Number 75 wanted to make a deal with them.

"Hey, why are our knives different?" Fan Quguang was still focused on this question.

"What? Hurry up and run!" Shen Yue had no time for his nonsense.

Number 75 and his group had discovered them and were chasing after them. If they didn''t run, they''d be waiting for death.

The three of them ran quickly towards the back mountain, but more and more living dead villagers were chasing them.

"Damn, we''ve really stirred up a hornet''s nest!" Shen Yue looked back and felt her scalp tingle.

"We can''t keep running like this, the road ahead is even harder!" Fan Quguang felt he could barely run anymore.

Kun Yao said nothing, running behind the two.

"Then what do you suggest?" Shen Yue was also starting to lose strength.

"The exit is just ahead. Follow me," Fan Quguang suddenly sped up, running quickly behind a huge rock.

These few steps were too fast.

When Shen Yue and Kun Yao followed, they couldn''t see Fan Quguang. It was as if he had vanished into thin air.

    "Quick, come over here!"

They could still hear Fan Quguang''s voice.

Shen Yue and Kun Yao exchanged a glance, both seeing surprise in each other''s eyes.

The two walked forward a few steps and suddenly saw Fan Quguang, though his appearance was quite comical.

He was standing inside a smooth large ball, his arms supporting it.

    "Come in quickly! Hurry!"

After Shen Yue and Kun Yao entered, they realized the ball was transparent from the inside. Shen Yue immediately understood this was Fan Quguang''s furball.

    It had actually saved them.

But there was no time to dwell on this. The living dead villagers had already rushed over.

Just as they were getting nervous, Shen Yue suddenly realized the villagers could no longer see or touch them. The people hiding in this furball seemed to have entered another space.

"Where are they?" Number 75 appeared, followed by Chen Si and Zhou Tongting.

However, behind them was something else - a blood-red coffin floating in mid-air.

The living dead villagers couldn''t answer his question. They just stood there like puppets that had lost their target.

"Where the hell did they run off to?" Number 75 asked angrily, but no one responded.

"Big brother, don''t be anxious. They must be hiding somewhere. Let them search some more," Chen Si hurriedly said.

    "Search! All of you, search!"

Shen Yue and the others sat in the ball watching the living and dead people walking back and forth outside, almost tearing the place apart, but they couldn''t see or find them.

"Well, your thing is really useful," Shen Yue finally relaxed, patting Fan Quguang''s shoulder.

"Don''t touch me," Fan Quguang''s face was flushed red.

"He''s almost out of strength. This thing needs to absorb his power to maintain its state," Kun Yao immediately noticed Fan Quguang''s condition.

"Cough, I can barely hold on. Help me," Fan Quguang said through gritted teeth.

"How can we help you?" Shen Yue asked hurriedly.

They were now in the middle of the living dead villagers. If they were exposed now, wouldn''t they be dead for sure?

"Just hold it up," Fan Quguang looked at them with pleading eyes.

"I''ll do it," Kun Yao suddenly said, and quickly took action.

Fan Quguang was replaced. He let out a long breath.

"This thing needs to absorb energy," Shen Yue touched the wall of the ball, feeling empathetic. This ball was just like her, needing energy to sustain itself.

"We''ve been through life and death together, so we''re familiar now. Let me tell you something," Fan Quguang said.

    Shen Yue: "?"

Kun Yao also looked at him.

Fan Quguang sighed: "This thing not only absorbs energy, but it also makes people age."

"What?" Shen Yue was stunned. She quickly looked at Kun Yao, then asked, "Makes people age? You look about forty, how old are you actually?"

Fan Quguang''s face fell: "I just celebrated my 25th birthday last month."
