FAMILY REUNION

Three years ago, the world seemed to hold its breath. Kin Takashi, the wealthiest man alive—a figure so powerful his name was whispered with equal parts awe and envy—was found dead. A heart attack, they said, sudden and unexpected. His death struck like a thunderclap, leaving nations reeling and economies trembling.

On that day, the skies wept. A heavy rain poured for hours, drumming against windows and flooding streets, as though the earth was mourning. Kin wasn’t just a man of wealth; he was a man of purpose. His fortune had been a lifeline to countless charities, and his handouts had kept entire communities afloat. To the destitute, he was a savior. To the ambitious, he was an idol. And now, he was gone.

A year later, the unthinkable happened again. Yui Yukina, Kin’s wife and the woman who had inherited his empire, was found dead in eerily similar circumstances. Another heart attack, the doctors claimed. The same fate. The same story. The same loss. Yui had carried her husband’s legacy with grace, funneling wealth into the hands of those in need. But her death felt different. Stranger. Darker.

Speculation erupted like wildfire. Conspiracy theories filled every corner of the world, from bustling city streets to quiet rural towns. Some whispered of divine punishment—two mortals struck down for their hubris. Others insisted it was murder, a silent assassin who had poisoned them both. A few dared to suggest suicide, though the idea seemed absurd to those who had seen the couple’s public devotion to life and each other.

The authorities, however, silenced the noise with a simple verdict: natural causes. They dismissed the murmurs and closed the book. But not everyone was convinced.

The Takashi legacy was far from over. Kin and Yui had left behind ten children, each born into unimaginable privilege and power. Nine had seamlessly stepped into their parents’ shoes: business tycoons, politicians, and cultural icons. They exuded confidence and control, and every action was scrutinized by a media group hungry for more of the Takashi story.

But there was one sibling everyone thought of as a failure, Takashi Kenzo, a writer.

    FAMILY REUNION

Kenzo sat hunched over his cluttered desk, aggressively scribbling into a worn notebook. Papers lay scattered everywhere, some crumpled and discarded, others barely legible with half-formed thoughts and ink smudges. He swept his long, unkempt hair back in frustration, his brow furrowed. Stopping abruptly, he glanced at the page before him and frowned deeply. You could be reading stolen content. Head to Royal Road for the genuine story.

“This isn’t it!” he muttered angrily, crumpling the paper into a tight ball and tossing it across the room. It struck someone on the shoulder before landing on the floor.

“Kenzo, when are you going to stop wasting your time with these ridiculous novels?” A sharp voice cut through the tense silence. A woman in a sleek black suit, her hair tied back in a flawless bun, stood with her hands on her hips. “You could be running a business empire—hell, you could dominate entire cities if you wanted.”

It was Kym, his personal bodyguard and childhood friend. Her family had served the world’s wealthiest for generations, and as a gesture of loyalty, their eldest child was given to the Takashi family. That child had grown into Kym—loyal, sharp-tongued, and fiercely protective.

Kenzo leaned back in his chair, his eyes narrowing as he replied, “Passion isn’t something you achieve with money, Kym. It’s built through—”

“Yeah, yeah, hard work,” she interrupted with a dismissive wave of her hand before plopping down on the couch. “Whatever you say.” Grabbing the remote, she turned on the TV.

“Breaking news,” a reporter’s voice announced, the tone grim. “The infamous underworld leader known as Bull Dog has been found dead in the sewers of Shinjuku. The body showed multiple stab wounds and gunshot injuries. Authorities also confirmed that his heart was missing...”

Kenzo paused, his gaze shifting from the TV to the ceiling as a sudden thought struck him. His expression shifted from frustration to clarity, and he bolted upright.

“I’ve got it!” he exclaimed, his voice echoing in the room.

Kym’s eyes widened in surprise. “Got what?”

Kenzo’s grin spread as he turned to her. “Call a family meeting. I need to talk to everyone.”

Kym raised an eyebrow, crossing her arms. “A family meeting? For you? They won’t show up just because you ask.”

Kenzo hesitated, tapping a finger against his temple. Then a mischievous glint sparked in his eyes. “Tell them I’m getting married. That should do the trick.”

Kym blinked, visibly stunned. “You’re what?!”

“Just say it,” he replied with a smirk, leaning back in his chair confidently.

“You’re insane,” Kym muttered, shaking her head as she got up. “Fine, but don’t blame me when they’re pissed.”

“Don’t worry,” Kenzo said, watching her leave. As the door clicked shut, his smirk faded, replaced by a pensive expression. His mind churned, piecing together a plan he couldn’t yet fully see but knew he had to pursue. Something big was coming—and for the first time, Kenzo felt ready
