Dahlia was well aware that Charlie had passed away. Yet, she brought up Charlie over and over again in front of her.
Evelyn was certain that Dahlia had made that call on purpose! She deliberately chose the day of Charlie''s funeral to celebrate Sandy''s nonsensical third-ce win on sports day. She''s putting on this disy for Charlie.
Dahlia enjoyed boasting about how much Charles adored Sandy over Charlie.
When Charlie was alive, Dahlia took advantage of Charles'' absolute favoritism towards her and Sandy and never spared Charlie from difort. Now that Charlie was deceased, they still wouldn''t let Charlie her in peace. What an insult! Dahlia''s actions were unforgivable!
"Evelyn, are you listening?" Dahlia''s voice was still soft.
Evelyn felt utterly disgusted. A cold smile spread across her lips as she responded, "Sure."
Then, she hung up the phone.
As Evelyn stood up, she kissed Charlie''s picture gently. "Charlie, I won''t let you suffer any more indignities."
...
Dahlia''s smile stiffened noticeably when she heard Evelyn say, "Sure." She hadn''t expected Evelyn to actually agree to show up.
"Why did you invite Evelyn to Sandy''s celebration?" Charles frowned upon hearing this.
"Don''t you want to see Charlie?" Dahlia said softly.
Charles didn''t say anything more; indeed, it had been a long time since hest saw her.
Dahlia watched Charles'' reaction, and her hands clenched tighter at her sides. She had done everything in her power to tarnish Charlie''s image in Charles'' heart. She made him dislike Charlie and keep his distance from her by drawing him closer to Sandy instead. Even so, he still cared deeply for her. Blood was thicker than water, after all.
Fortunately, Charlie was dead.
A vicious gleam shed in Dahlia''s eyes.

Half an hourter, Evelyn appeared at Pearl Hotel dressed in ck.
The grand banquet hall in front of her was decorated with colorful flowers and
Dalloons. It
beautiful, like a castle out of a dream.
There was a delicate statue at the
entrance. On it were words engraved in gold Congrattions to c
Sandy for securing Our

The coldness on Evelyn''s lips deepened.
Her daughter was cremated, and Charles rented Disney to watch fireworks with Sandy.
Charlie had just been buried, yet Charles booked the hotel''s banquet hall to celebrate Sandy''s insignificant third-ce win on sports day. He really was a "great" father!
Dahlia saw Evelyn first. She was stunned for a moment, then quickly approached her. "Evelyn, you''re here."
Charles was inside ying with
balloons with Sandy when he heard
the noise outside. He immediately
stood up and strode t
entrance.

He only saw Evelyn standing at the entrance, without Charlie by her side. His gaze darkened, and his expression grew somber. Dahlia caught a glimpse of Charles walking over, and spoke first, "Evelyn, why did youe alone? Where''s Charlie?"
Evelyn faced the pretentious Dahlia, suddenly stepped forward, and raised her hand.
"p!"
"p!"
"p!"
"p!"
Several psnded harshly on Dahlia''s face.
Evelyn''s eyes were bloodshot with hatred. "Dahlia, you knew very well that Charlie is already dead..."
Before Evelyn could finish, Charles interrupted her with a cold voice. "Evelyn, don''t push my limits!"
His face was stern, and his gaze was ominous. He took a fewrge steps, reached Dahlia''s side, and grabbed Evelyn''s wrist.
