Chapter 211

Dahlia stood before Charlie''s gravestone, and her re twisted with anguish as she stared at the etched image of her youthful face. Her heart was aze with fury, all of it directed at Charlie. With a swift kick, she scattered the fresh flowers and fruit that Evelyn had lovingly ced there just two days ago.

As she kicked, she spat venomously, "Curse you, you miserable little brat! Even in death, you haunt me! If you won''t let me live in peace, I''ll make sure you never rest easy!"

She sneered, "Your pathetic mother went to such lengths to get you this prime burial spot, hoping you''d roll into a better life next time. I''d like to see you try!"

Dahlia chuckled darkly, bending down to grab a hefty container she had brought along. As she twisted the cap off, she taunted Charlie''s memory. "Know what this is?"

"This is animal blood, just for you. And I''ve spent big bucks on some charms to curse you."

"Once these charms are soaked in the blood, you''ll never find peace in the afterlife. Never!"

She mocked, knowing that Evelyn, the wretch, had Rosa''s protection. Charles hadn''t entirely given up on Evelyn either. She couldn''t openly target Evelyn, so she''d target the child Evelyn had brought into this world instead.

"If there''s anyone to me, it''s your bad luck being born to Evelyn. Next life... Oh wait, you don''t get a next life! Ha!"

Herughter was low and sinister, more chilling than any ghost story. Sometimes, human malice was scarier than any ghost.

As she prepared to pour the blood over the gravestone, a furious voice rang out, "Dahlia, stop right there!"

    ine

Evelyn charged at her, eyes zing with rage. Dahlia hadn''t expected her to show up at the graveyard sote. Dahlia was startled and knocked off her feet, nding hard on the ground. The bottle of animal blood slipped from her grasp, sttering over her clothes.

"Ugh!" Dahlia shrieked in disgust, flinging the bottle aside. She scrambled up, grabbing tissues from her bag to wipe herself clean. It might not harm the living, but it was utterly revolting.

While she was busy cleaning up, Evelyn delivered a fierce kick to Dahlia''s back. Caught off guard, Dahlia stumbled forward. Before Dahlia could steady herself, Evelyn struck again, hitting the back of her knees. Pain shot through her, and she crumpled in front of Charlie''s gravestone.

Furious and humiliated, Dahlia''s expression hardened. How dare Evelyn make her kneel here? "Evelyn, you wretched woman!" she spat.

With no one around but the silent dead, Evelyn''s murderous re revealed she had heard everything. Dahlia dropped all pretenses and was ready to fight. But Evelyn, fueled by an unexpected strength, moved swiftly, grabbing Dahlia''s hair.

"Whap, whap, whap-" A flurry of ps left Dahlia reeling, her mind spinning.

Evelyn''s eyes burned with hatred. Dahlia was vile beyond measure. Not only had she caused Charlie''s death, but now she wanted to trap her soul forever.

    The deep-seated helplessness that

Evelyn had buried surged to the surface. In that moment, all she wanted was justice for Charlie.

    Dahlia dazed and defenseless With

Evelyn yanked her hair, forcing her head down against Charlie''s gravestone.

"Thud!" She made Dahlia pay her respects, whether she liked it or not.
