《Full Attribute Fragments Start》
Chapter 1
C1 ¨C My Woman Actually Likes You I¡¯ll Kill You!
In a deste town, five men stood at a distance in front of a residential building, their faces etched with gravity.
Though it was midday, the sky was overcast, and a thin veil of gray mist hung in the air.
The surrounding ruins cast a somber mood over the group.
¡°We haven¡¯t been here before. There should be supplies inside.¡±
Among them, a man with a face marred by blemishes nced at the building and directed the young man next to him, ¡°Tan Chong, you scout ahead and assess the situation.¡±
¡°Why is it always me who has to scout, Chen Dong?¡± Tan Chong asked, his brow furrowed and his expression dark.
Tan Chong, a seventeen-year-old, had once been a high school student on Earth before a car ident catapulted him into this post-apocalyptic world.
Here, zombies and Mutated Beasts lurked at every turn, presenting constant peril.
The residential building likely harbored zombies. Venturing in alone would be recklessly dangerous.
¡°Tan Chong, follow the captain¡¯s orders and cut the chatter,¡± a round-faced man next to Chen Dong chided sharply.
Biting back his frustration, Tan Chong protested, ¡°I¡¯ve done this several times before. Shouldn¡¯t it be someone else¡¯s turn by now?¡±
Chen Dong had tasked Tan Chong with this perilous job yet again, clearly singling him out. Tan Chong was no longer willing to tolerate it.
Chen Dong retorted with a coldugh, ¡°You¡¯re free to stay out, Tan Chong. But when we get back, I¡¯ll be sure to inform the captain of your insubordination. If you don¡¯t follow my orders, forget about staying in the Gathering Land.¡±
Tan Chong went silent upon hearing this.
Surviving in this harsh new world was impossible without a secure haven.
Tan Chong¡¯s refuge, the Celestial South Gathering Land, was a fortified enve housing thousands. Its armed forces were formidable, more than a match for the average zombie or Mutated Beast.
?Chen Dong¡¯s father held the influential position of Vice Leader within Celestial South Gathering Land.
If Tan Chong defied Chen Dong now, expulsion from the Gathering Land was certain.
Without a safe haven, surviving alone in the post-apocalyptic world would be incredibly challenging.
After much deliberation, Tan Chong clenched his jaw and dered, ¡°I¡¯ll go.¡±
Chen Dong offered a reassuring smile. ¡°Tan Chong, don¡¯t worry. If you run into any trouble, we¡¯ll definitelye to your rescue.¡±
¡°Why would you be so generous?¡± Tan Chong thought with a silent scoff, but he kept his thoughts to himself. Clutching his Chopping de, he cautiously made his way toward the residential building.
Once Tan Chong had entered the building and was out of sight, Chen Dong¡¯s expression darkened. He inwardly sneered, ¡°My woman fancies you? I¡¯ll make sure you¡¯re dead!¡±
In the Celestial South Gathering Land, there was a stunning woman named Jiang Qiu.
Chen Dong had long been smitten with Jiang Qiu, repeatedly professing his love, only to be met with rejection each time.
Jiang Qiu¡¯s reason was straightforward: she liked Tan Chong.
?This infuriated Chen Dong, who couldn¡¯t fathom why. Tan Chong held no sway in the Celestial South Gathering Land, and his martial arts skills were mediocre at best. Aside from his good looks, he had no notable qualities.
Could his handsome face fill their bellies?
Ultimately, it was power and martial prowess that ensured survival.
?Unable to win Jiang Qiu¡¯s heart, Chen Dong directed his rage toward Tan Chong. He assigned Tan Chong the most perilous tasks during their resource-gathering expeditions, hoping to get rid of him.
Yet, Tan Chong had been fortunate, managing to survive mission after mission.
Chen Dong was unconcerned. If he couldn¡¯t kill Tan Chong on one mission, he¡¯d simply keep trying until he seeded.
As long as Tan Chong remained in the Celestial South Gathering Land, Chen Dong was convinced he could find a way to silently eliminate him..
Chapter 2
C2 ¨C Golden Fragment!
The lighting inside the residential building was faint, casting an eerie silence throughout the structure that was permeated with an unsettling atmosphere.
?Tan Chong clutched the Chopping de tightly, his palms slick with sweat from the tension. After a quick sweep of the first-floor corridor revealed no zombies, he inhaled deeply and made his way up to the second floor with slow, deliberate steps.
As he neared the second floor, a sudden ¡°crack¡± echoed in the stillness. Tan Chong had inadvertently stepped on something hard, causing a faint snapping noise.
?¡±Damn it!¡± he thought, his heart racing.
Zombies had incredibly sharp hearing; if one was lurking nearby, it would surelyunch a ferocious attack upon hearing the noise. As expected, a zombie¡¯s roar soon emanated from the second floor.
?Tan Chong¡¯s scalp tingled with fear, and he instinctively turned and bolted down to the first-floor corridor. ncing over his shoulder, he was taken aback.
?¡±Why is there only one zombie?¡± he wondered.
The cacophony of roars from the second floor suggested the presence of at least a dozen zombies, yet only one had descended. It was a Female Zombie, her appearance disheveled and grotesque, with one leg broken, causing her to stagger and move at a snail¡¯s pace.
Confronted with the severely wounded Female Zombie, Tan Chong¡¯s eyes narrowed. Zombies harbored an Energy Stone in their hearts¡ªa valuablemodity in this world. It could enhance martial prowess and purchase necessities like food and weapons. The Energy Stone was a prize worth a fortune, and Tan Chong was intent on ying the zombie to im it.
?As the Female Zombie closed in, Tan Chong sidestepped her lunge. Simultaneously, as he evaded her attempted bite, he brought the Chopping de down on her head.
?The de lodged itself into the back of the Female Zombie¡¯s skull. Aiming for the head was the most effective way to kill a zombie quickly.
Yet, the skull was significantly tougher than the rest of the body. Tan Chong¡¯s strike hadn¡¯t been fatal; it merely inflicted a grave injury. The Female Zombie, now severely wounded, let out a frenzied howl and iled her arms wildly, but she couldn¡¯ty a finger on Tan Chong.
?Tan Chong delivered a forceful kick to the Female Zombie, toppling her over, and then drew his Chopping de to furiously hack at her skull.
After several strikes, the Female Zombie¡¯s head was finally cleaved apart. She convulsed on the ground a few times before bing motionless.
Tan Chong swiftly extracted a peanut-sized Energy Stone from her heart. As he was preparing to leave, a golden glow caught his eye emanating from the Female Zombie¡¯s corpse.
¡°A fragment?¡± Tan Chong was taken aback.
He saw that the glow was from a golden fragment shaped like a musical note.
¡°What is this?¡±
Tan Chong had in many zombies before but had never encountered such a fragment. He examined it closely, then extended his hand toward the golden fragment.
The moment his fingertips made contact with the fragment, it vanished. Simultaneously, an odd voice resonated in his mind.
¡°You have collected a Level 1 All-attribute Fragment. You have enough fragment number to use it.¡±
¡°Use it.¡±
Tan Chong instinctively responded, and a vision shed through his mind.
Host: Tan Chong.
Evolver Level: Level 1.
Psychokinesis Master Level: 0.
Divine Psychokinesis Master Level: 1.
Magic Psychokinesis Master Level: 1, General Psykeeper.
Chapter 3
C3 ¨C Use the Psychic Force!
Tan Chong was beyond being shocked at this point.
He sensed a subtle transformation within his body; he was significantly stronger than before, as if a tremendous force was coursing through him.
Simultaneously, his mind was filled with newfound knowledge on how to wield psychic force and Magic Power.
¡°This is incredibly powerful!¡± Tan Chong eximed, his face a mask of astonishment.
In this world, there were two exceptionally powerful professions.
One was the Evolver, and the other, the Psychokinesis Master.
Evolvers concentrated on strengthening their physical form.
The Psychokinesis Master was further categorized into the Psychic Psychokinesis Master, who focused on the cultivation of psychic force, and the Magic Psychokinesis Master, who honed Magic Power.
Tan Chong had never imagined that stumbling upon a golden fragment would not only turn him into a Level 1 Evolver but also a Psychokinesis Master.
¡°Is this even real?¡±
The joy was so overwhelming that Tan Chong started to question its reality.
To test its authenticity, he manipted the psychic force as per the knowledge in his brain.
¡°Mr. Dong, Tan Chong has been inside for quite a while now. He hasn¡¯t been taken out by the zombies, has he?¡± The chubby-faced man approached Chen Dong and murmured.
A barrage of zombie roars had earlier erupted from the apartment building, but they had swiftly died down.
The chubby man was concerned that Tan Chong might have fallen to the zombies.
¡°No rush, we¡¯ll check on him in a bit,¡± Chen Dong replied, his eyes narrowed as he gazed at the building, a sinister smile ying on his lips.
If the zombies had taken Tan Chong out, it would be the ideal scenario.
And if Tan Chong had survived, Chen Dong was in no hurry to intervene. He believed Tan Chong needed to endure some hardship first.
Tan Chong unleashed his psychic force, and an image of the inside of the residential building materialized in his mind, far clearer than what his eyes could see.
Furthermore, as he continued to project his psychic force, his observational range expanded to approximately ten meters.
¡°I¡¯ve actually be a Level 1 Divine Psychokinesis Master!¡± Tan Chong was thrilled.
Though a Level 1 Divine Psychokinesis Mastercked attack power, he could still scout his surroundings effectively.
Through this experience, Tan Chong was certain that he was indeed a Level 1 Divine Psychokinesis Master.
Bolstered by his psychic force, Tan Chong felt emboldened and made his way to the second floor.
He had previously heard numerous zombies roaring, but when he probed the second-floor corridor with his psychic force, he discovered not a single zombie.
Upon reaching the second floor, he quickly surveyed the area and noticed that two room doors were firmly closed.
¡°Could all the zombies be inside these rooms?¡± Tan Chong wondered, and he decided to use his psychic force to search the rooms.
In no time, he spotted seven or eight zombies huddled in the room to his left, and two more in the room on his right.
¡°They were all trapped inside the rooms,¡± he realized.
With a clearer understanding of the situation, Tan Chong proceeded towards the third floor.
The residential building had originally been at least ten stories high, but the upper levels had copsed, leaving only three floors intact.
The third floor contained just one room, also with a securely closed door.
Using his psychic force, Tan Chong could see that, aside from two zombies, the room was filled with a stockpile of food, predominantly canned goods.
At this sight, Tan Chong¡¯s eyes sparkled with excitement.
In a post-apocalyptic world, food was exceedingly rare.
The stash of food in the room represented an immense wealth. If he could secure it all, he wouldn¡¯t need to venture out in search of resources for a considerable time.
Tan Chong took a few deep breaths, striving to stayposed, as a new idea suddenly emerged in his mind.
Chapter 4
C4 ¨C He Entered the Residential Building!
Tan Chong didn¡¯t linger long. He slipped away from the residential building quietly.
?¡±Mr. Dong, Tan Chong hase out,¡± the fat-faced man reported, his gaze never straying from the building. Upon spotting Tan Chong, he promptly informed Chen Dong.
A flicker of disappointment crossed Chen Dong¡¯s face as he watched Tan Chong emerge unscathed from the building, but it quickly morphed into a menacing look. ¡°Tan Chong, did you actually go in to check? Or were you just hiding in a corner trying to bluff your way through?¡±
?As Tan Chong approached, the fat man stepped forward to confront him directly. ¡°We all heard the zombies¡¯ roars just now. Tan Chong, be honest with me, were you too scared to go in and investigate?¡± interjected a sleazy-looking man.
Among their group of five, Tan Chong was the least capable. He might struggle to defeat even a single zombie on his own. And with the roars that had echoed from the building, indicating the presence of several zombies, how could Tan Chong possibly have made it out alive?
?Chen Dong¡¯s expression grew stormy. He red at Tan Chong and threatened, ¡°If you dare to ck off on the task I gave you, don¡¯t expect me to be lenient.¡±
A glint of resolve shed in Tan Chong¡¯s eyes. He inhaled deeply and reported, ¡°I¡¯ve thoroughly scouted the inside. The second floor has two rooms full of zombies, but they¡¯re all trapped and can¡¯t escape.¡±
¡°Besides the two zombies on the third floor, I also discovered a substantial amount of food in one of the rooms there.¡±
¡°You found what? Arge stash of food?¡± Chen Dong¡¯sposure wavered.
?The other three men¡¯s eyes bulged with anticipation. In their world, the significance of food was undeniable. If Tan Chong¡¯s ims held true, securing this food supply would be a monumental achievement, catapulting their standing within the Celestial South Gathering Land.
¡°Tan Chong, are you telling the truth?¡± Chen Dong asked, seeking confirmation of Tan Chong¡¯s ount.
Tan Chong nodded emphatically, assuring him, ¡°Every word I¡¯ve said is the truth.¡±
¡°Tan Chong, you¡¯ve done exceptionally well this time. Upon our return to the Gathering Land, I¡¯ll make sure to inform the leader of your deeds,¡± Chen Dong eximed, his voice brimming with tion as hemended Tan Chong.
Of course, he was merely paying lip service. Deep down, he loathed Tan Chong with a passion.
Considering Tan Chong¡¯smendable performance this time, he decided to spare his life for a few more days. There would be another opportunity to eliminate Tan Chong on a future mission.
¡°Thank you very much.¡± Tan Chong managed a strained smile.
He was acutely aware of the kind of man Chen Dong was. Tan Chong paid no mind to Chen Dong¡¯s remarks.
¡°Tan Chong, you take the lead,¡± urged Chen Dong, growing impatient.
Without further ado, Tan Chong turned and jogged toward the apartment building.
Chen Dong and the other three trailed closely behind him.
Upon entering the building, Tan Chong gestured for silence and motioned for the four to follow him.
Reaching the third floor, Tan Chong pointed to a door and whispered, ¡°It¡¯s this one.¡±
¡°Tan Chong, are you sure there are only two zombies in there?¡± Chen Dong asked, his anxiety evident.
With just two zombies, the five of them could easily dispatch them.
But if there were more, they could be in trouble.
¡°I¡¯m certain. There are only two zombies inside, and I¡¯ve even shut the door,¡± Tan Chong rified.
Chen Dong nodded andmanded, ¡°Everyone, be ready. Tan Chong, go open the door quickly.¡±
Tan Chong approached the door, grasping the doorknob.
Using his psychic force, Tan Chong detected that the door was locked, making it impossible to open it effortlessly.
But as a Level 1 Evolver, Tan Chong possessed immense strength. With a forceful twist, he opened the door.
The two zombies inside, alerted by the noise, snarled and charged toward the door.
Tan Chong swung the door wide open and swiftly stepped aside.
Chapter 5
C5 ¨C The Zombie Invasion!
¡°Attack!¡±
Simultaneously, Chen Dong and hispanionsunched an assault on the zombies.
Typically, zombies are quite aggressive, and Non-evolved individuals stand little chance against them.
However, Chen Dong¡¯s group was extraordinarily seasoned, and they quickly overpowered the two zombies.
Tan Chong stood to the side, nced over, and silently made his way down to the second floor.
With a series of sharp cracks, the two zombies were effortlessly dispatched.
¡°Mr. Dong, Tan Chong seems to have disappeared.¡±
The heavyset man pried the Energy Stone from the corpse of a zombie and nced towards the door, but Tan Chong was nowhere to be seen. He hurriedly informed Chen Dong.
¡°Forget about him. Let¡¯s focus on moving the stuff.¡±
Chen Dong was preupied with the contents of the room, showing no concern for Tan Chong.
The room was stocked with food, predominantly canned meats.
The plump man and his twopanions eagerly dove into the stash of cans.
¡°All of this is ours. Grab the canned food first,¡± Chen Dong called out.
Tan Chong, standing outside a second-floor room, heard themotion from above and a smile crossed his face.
With a forceful kick, he sent the door flying off its hinges.
?The zombies inside were momentarily stunned before they furiously charged at Tan Chong.
Without hesitation, Tan Chong spun around and dashed up to the third floor.
There, the stout man,den with a heap of canned food, nearly collided with Tan Chong.
His face nched as he spotted the horde of zombies trailing Tan Chong, and the cans tumbled from his grasp.
Cursing under his breath, he spun around and sprinted back into the room.
The sudden influx of zombies in the hallway was undoubtedly Tan Chong¡¯s doing.
The reasons behind his actions were not something the stout man had time to ponder.
As the man attempted to flee, Tan Chong extended his hand and pointed. A beam of green light shot out, striking the man¡¯s feet and transforming into a vine that entangled his ankles.
Tan Chong had employed a minor magic skill of the Magic Psychokinesis Master, the Wood Type Interwining Arts.
Rooted to the spot, the stout man stumbled and fell to the ground.
¡°Mr. Dong, save me!¡± The hefty man sprawled on the ground, screaming in desperation.
The zombies that surged forward immediately lunged at him.
One of the zombies, with its gaping maw, mped down on the man¡¯s thigh.
Blood, bright and crimson, spurted out, quickly filling the corridor with the reek of gore.
Chen Dong and his twopanions, alerted by the noise, dashed out of the room.
Their faces turned pale at the sight of the fat man¡¯s plight and the horde of zombies in the hallway.
Chen Dong steeled himself, striving forposure. He drew his machete and struck at a zombie.
The other two brandished their weapons, unching a coordinated assault on the undead.
The zombies, upon spotting Chen Dong and his allies, charged with increased ferocity. Even those feasting on the fat man scrambled to join the fray.
Tan Chong was crouched in a corner of the corridor when a zombie spotted him and barreled in his direction.
Chapter 6
C6 ¨C Storage Bag
¡°You¡¯re asking for it!¡±
Tan Chong raised his hand and delivered a swift chop, channeling the formidable power of an Evolver into the de. With a single strike, he cleaved a zombie¡¯s head in two, killing it instantly.
After dispatching the zombie, Tan Chong refrained from further attacks, as the remaining zombies were all swarming Chen Dong and the other two.
A sleazy man managed to y one zombie, only to be tackled to the ground by another. His neck was instantly torn open, gushing bright red blood.
With the sleazy man¡¯sbat abilities gone, Chen Dong and the other man suddenly found themselves under increased pressure. They were driven back by the zombies and had retreated into the room.
¡°Tan Chong, what the hell are you doing? Get over here and help!¡± Chen Dong shouted furiously, watching Tan Chong stand by idly.
Tan Chong observed with a detached gaze, unmoved by the chaos.
Chen Dong had always been antagonistic toward him. Tan Chong was far from foolish; he was well aware of Chen Dong¡¯s repeated attempts on his life.
Previously, with his weaker abilities, he had no choice but to yield.
But now, the tables had turned. Not only was he an Evolver, but he was also a Psychokinesis Master. He had all the power he needed to confront Chen Dong.
His purpose in drawing the zombies here was precisely to eliminate Chen Dong and his aplices. Why would he lift a finger to assist them?
¡°Save me¡¡± At that moment, another agonizing scream pierced the air.
The man next to Chen Dong was also overwhelmed by the zombies. They rapidly tore into him, and blood gushed forth from multiple wounds.
¡°You¡¯re all going to die!¡± Chen Dong, in a state of panic, brandished his machete, felling two zombies.
But there were seven in total. The remaining three zombiesunched a frenzied assault on Chen Dong.
Despite his strength, Chen Dong couldn¡¯t fend off the trio of zombies and was quickly brought down.
Pinned to the ground, Chen Dong¡¯s screams of despair filled the air.
The three zombies were relentless, continuing to tear at his flesh.
In moments, Chen Dong was drenched in blood, his body convulsing uncontrobly.
Tan Chong didn¡¯t want Chen Dong to die so effortlessly. He stepped forward, flicked his wrist, andunched a fireball that exploded one zombie¡¯s head into oblivion.
The two zombies that had been draped over Chen Dong¡¯s body let out a howl and charged at Tan Chong.
With a flick of his finger, Tan Chong sent a gray wind de slicing through the air.
The leading zombie was struck by the wind de, its head splitting in two before it copsed lifelessly to the ground.
The final zombie, just as it reached Tan Chong, was swiftly cleaved in half by his de.
Chen Dong was still alive. Witnessing Tan Chong effortlessly dispatch three zombies, his eyes widened and he spoke with a shaky voice, ¡°You¡¯re an Evolver, and also a Magic Psychokinesis Master¡¡±
Tan Chong seemed to pay no heed to Chen Dong¡¯s words. His focus was entirely on thest zombie, as another white fragment had caught his eye.
¡°A white fragment!¡± Tan Chong eximed with delight.
He had previously found a golden fragment, which had transformed him into an Evolver and a Psychokinesis Master.
The sight of another fragment thrilled him.
Taking a deep breath, Tan Chong reached out and grasped the white fragment.
¡°You have collected a ten cubic meter Storage Bag fragment. The fragment number isplete, and it is now usable.¡±
¡°I choose to use it.¡±
No sooner had he spoken than a palm-sized gray pouch materialized in Tan Chong¡¯s hand.
Simultaneously, knowledge on how to use the Storage Bag flooded his mind.
Tan Chong channeled a wisp of psychic force into the Storage Bag and proceeded to insert the Chopping de into it.
The Chopping de, over a meter in length, would normally never fit into such a pouch.
Yet, the Storage Bag seemed to defy reality, swallowing the Chopping de with ease.
Chapter 7
C7 ¨C Antidote for the Virus!
Upon seeing this, a glimmer of joy flickered across Tan Chong¡¯s face. He was now certain that the yellow cloth bag in his hand was akin to a storage space. Heposed himself, carefully stowed the storage bag, and then made his way directly to Chen Dong.
¡°Tan Chong, why didn¡¯t you save us?¡± Chen Dong red at him, his voiceced with anger and usation. Despite Tan Chong¡¯s evident strength, he had stood by as Chen Dong was attacked by zombies, fueling his rage to its peak.
?Tan Chong smirked with disdain. ¡°Weren¡¯t you plotting against me? Why on earth would I save you?¡±
¡°You¡¯re heartless,¡± Chen Dong spat, his eyes brimming with venomous spite, while regret gnawed at him. Had he known this day woulde, he would have taken Tan Chong¡¯s life sooner.
?¡±Conserve your energy; you¡¯ll be a zombie soon enough,¡± Tan Chong said nonchntly, rubbing his nose. Once bitten by a zombie, unless one dies immediately, infection sets in, turning the victim into a zombie. The more severe the wounds, the quicker the transformation.
Chen Dong, riddled with injuries, wouldn¡¯tst long before sumbing to the change. His face paled at the thought. Bing a zombie meant losing all sense of self, reduced to a mere shell of existence.
¡°I¡¯d rather die than be one of them,¡± Chen Dong pleaded desperately. ¡°Tan Chong, for the sake of our shared origins from the Gathering Land, end my life.¡±
¡°Rest assured, I¡¯ll kill you, but not just yet,¡± Tan Chong responded with conviction.
?¡±What do you mean?¡± Chen Dong¡¯s fear escted as he realized Tan Chong intended to wait until the transformation wasplete before striking. Such malice was chilling.
¡°It was you who sought my downfall. Now, you reap what you¡¯ve sown,¡± Tan Chong taunted.
¡°I¡¯ll haunt you forever!¡± Chen Dong bellowed, his voice abruptly cutting off. His face twisted in agony, dark veins webbing across his skin as the transformation took hold.
?Knowing the danger, Tan Chong prepared for the worst. He retrieved the Chopping de from the storage bag, ready to defend himself against the inevitable.
Chen Dong was seized by a violent tremor. As his eyes filled with a blood-red hue, he leaped from the ground and, with a ferocious roar, charged at Tan Chong.
With a swift strike of his Chopping de, Tan Chong cleanly severed Chen Dong¡¯s head.
Chen Dong¡¯s headless body toppled to the ground, and from it, a red beam of light emerged.
¡°Another fragment!¡± eximed Tan Chong, his excitement palpable.
This red fragment made it his third find of the day.
Originally, Tan Chong had nned to wait until Chen Dong turned into a zombie before killing him. He wanted not only revenge but also an additional Energy Stone. He hadn¡¯t anticipated finding another fragment; it was an unexpected delight.
Grasping the red fragment, Tan Chong heard the peculiar voice echo in his mind.
¡°Antiviral liquid medicine fragment collected. Fragment number isplete. Ready for use.¡±
¡°Activate.¡±
Instantly, a small transparent ss bottle materialized in Tan Chong¡¯s hand, filled with a mysterious blue liquid.
Simultaneously, new information flooded his mind.
The antiviral liquid medicine was effective against the zombie virus. If he were bitten by a zombie, timely consumption of the medicine would prevent him from turning into one.
¡°This is great!¡± Tan Chong couldn¡¯t hide his joy.
Surviving in the apocalypse, his greatest fear was a zombie bite. Now, with the antiviral liquid medicine in his possession, it was as if he had gained an extra life.
Clearly, the antiviral liquid medicine was as valuable as the storage bag, if not more so.
Shortly thereafter, Tan Chong carefully stowed the antiviral liquid medicine into his storage bag and proceeded to extract Energy Stones from the zombie¡¯s remains.
With eight Energy Stones now in his possession, Tan Chong was overjoyed.
This substantial haul meant that even without taking on any missions for a month, he could livefortably in the Celestial South Gathering Land.
Chapter 8
C8 ¨C Greed!
Tan Chong slipped the Energy Stone into his storage bag. As he was about to start gathering food, he faintly heard footsteps from downstairs.
He immediately unleashed his psychic force to scan the area below.
Through his psychic perception, Tan Chong noticed two men and a woman making their way up the stairs, each armed with a weapon. They were likely out scavenging for supplies as well.
Tan Chong was familiar with the various teams from the Celestial South Gathering Land that searched for resources, but these three were strangers to him, clearly not from his own Gathering Land.
?Gripping his Chopping de tightly, he braced himself for their arrival, aware of the harsh realities of survival in this world.
Even within the same Gathering Land, people would fight over a significant find of resources, let alone with strangers.
¡°Who are you? Are you responsible for all these zombie corpses?¡± they asked, visibly taken aback by the scene before them.
?¡±I took them down. What do you need?¡± Tan Chong replied coolly, appraising the trio.
¡°You managed to kill all these zombies by yourself?¡± The woman, in her twenties and dressed in a ck vest that entuated her figure, looked at him with wide eyes, astonished.
?The two men were equally astounded as they turned their gaze to Tan Chong.
Not even an Evolver was guaranteed to dispatch so many zombies in such a confined space, and Tan Chong, young and slight of build, hardly fit the image of a powerful Evolver.
?¡±Maybe he¡¯s new here? Perhaps he didn¡¯t kill these zombies?¡±
The men spected among themselves.
¡°It was my team and I who killed them. But I wasn¡¯t as fortunate as my teammates; they all fell to the zombies,¡± Tan Chong responded, without disclosing his status as an Evolver.
A nce at the ground confirmed their suspicions, revealing the bodies of three men.
¡°Captain, the Energy Stones from the zombies are gone,¡± the woman said, turning to the bearded man beside her.
¡°You¡¯re the one who took the Energy Stones, aren¡¯t you?¡± the man used, fixing Tan Chong with a hostile stare.
He could see clearly that there were eight zombies in the vicinity, which meant Tan Chong possessed eight Energy Stones¡ªa significant fortune by any measure.
¡°Why shouldn¡¯t I take the Energy Stones if I¡¯m the one who killed the zombies?¡± Tan Chong said, smiling.
¡°So, you do have the Energy Stones on you,¡± the man said, licking his lips as his face turned grim.
¡°Captain, there¡¯s a treasure trove of canned food in here!¡± another man eximed upon spotting the cans scattered around the room.
The other two quickly turned their attention to the room.
¡°There¡¯s so much food!¡± the woman said, her excitement palpable as she made a beeline for the room.
Tan Chong¡¯s brow furrowed, and he positioned himself in front of the doorway. ¡°I discovered this ce first.¡±
The man with the beard chuckled.
Having secured eight Energy Stones, Tan Chong was not about to let his guard down. With the discovery of the abundant food supply, it was even more imperative that he protect his im.
¡°Hand over the Energy Stones, and I¡¯ll ensure you¡¯re left with an intact body,¡± the man said, hisughter fading into a menacing snarl.
¡°So, you¡¯ve decided not to spare me?¡± Tan Chong¡¯s voice was ice-cold.
Chapter 9
C9 ¨C Tan Chong Killed All of Them!
Tan Chong was acutely aware that the three bearded men were intent on killing him for the supplies. He certainly wasn¡¯t going to sit around and wait for death.
His desire to kill surged uncontrobly.
¡°Since you¡¯re too foolish to see reason, I have no choice but to eliminate you!¡± The bearded man sneered, lifting his massive axe and bellowing, ¡°Attack together!¡±
Despite Tan Chong¡¯s seemingly frail appearance, he decided to take no chances and resolved to dispatch his adversary with swift and decisive action.
¡°Kill!¡±
The sinister man was the first to strike, gripping a metal rod and aiming a blow at Tan Chong¡¯s head.
¡°You¡¯re asking for death!¡± Tan Chong retorted with a cold huff.
As the sinister man made his move, Tan Chong counterattacked with his de.
Being a Level 1 Evolver, Tan Chong was not only significantly stronger but also much quicker.
The moment the sinister man raised his metal rod, Tan Chong¡¯s Chopping de struck first, nding precisely on his neck.
Arge head tumbled to the ground instantly.
Tan Chong¡¯s speed was so great that the sinister man couldn¡¯t even let out a scream before being decapitated.
The severed head, with eyes bulging in terror and disbelief,y on the ground.
¡°You¡¯re an Evolver!¡± The bearded man¡¯s face twisted in horror as he shouted.
The attack was so sudden that before he could react, his ally had been cleaved by the de.
It was clear that Tan Chong was unmistakably an Evolver.
The realization that he had attempted to rob an Evolver of his resources and even boasted of killing him sent a chill through the bearded man¡¯s spine.
¡°You¡¯re too slow on the uptake,¡± Tan Chong scoffed, swinging his de in another attack.
The bearded man, no stranger to dangerous encounters, refused to sumb to a powerful Evolver without a fight.
As Tan Chong¡¯s de descended, he countered with his axe, aiming for a mutual destruction.
But Tan Chong had no intention of amodating him. He deftly sidestepped, transforming the downward sh of his de into a sweeping horizontal cut.
A thunderous crash echoed.
The bearded man¡¯s axe mmed into the ground, while a deep gash was carved across his chest, blood quickly soaking his clothes.
Ignoring the pain, the bearded man hastily retreated, putting distance between himself and Tan Chong.
¡°Stop, we¡¯ll leave this instant. All of this is yours,¡± gasped the bearded man, terror etched on his face.
He had sustained a severe injury at the onset of their sh, now acutely aware of the Evolver¡¯s fearsome power.
He realized that if he continued to engage Tan Chong, he would undoubtedly be dead within three moves.
¡°You¡¯ve realized your mistake toote,¡± Tan Chong said coldly, advancing with his Chopping de at the ready.
Had the bearded man assessed the situation and left promptly, Tan Chong would not have pursued them.
But since the bearded man had made his hostile intentions clear, Tan Chong was not about to let him off the hook.
¡°We¡¯ll take him on!¡±
Realizing Tan Chong had no intention of sparing him, the bearded man clenched his teeth and shouted at the alluring woman behind him.
The woman¡¯s expression flickered with uncertainty, seemingly deaf to the bearded man¡¯s plea. After a brief hesitation, she turned and fled downstairs.
?Betrayed, the bearded man seethed with the urge to curse her, but before he could utter a word, Tan Chong was upon him, cleaving his head in two.
Having dispatched the bearded man, Tan Chong nced down the stairs, spotting the alluring woman already halfway along the second-floor corridor.
¡°Think you can escape?¡± Tan Chong taunted, snapping his fingers. A green beam of light shot out, striking the ground right by the woman¡¯s feet.
Chapter 10
C10 ¨C Go to Hell!!
The alluring woman, previously sprinting wildly, stumbled and fell to the ground.
¡°Intertwining Technique!¡±
She felt her feet ensnared by something. Despite her frantic efforts, she couldn¡¯t break free. In a panic, she looked down at her feet.
Her face went ashen when she realized that the entanglement was green vines¡ªa magic skill attack from a Magic Psychokinesis Master.
?Tan Chong descended the stairs from the third floor, each step light and deliberate.
With every step, the alluring woman¡¯s heart skipped a beat.
¡°You¡¯re an Evolver and a Magic Psychokinesis Master,¡± she gasped, lying prone on the ground, her eyes bulging and her mind in turmoil.
Both Evolvers and Magic Psychokinesis Masters were revered as the epitome of strength in the post-apocalyptic world, awe-inspiring to many.
Yet, bing an Evolver or a Magic Psychokinesis Master was no small feat.
One needed not only talent but also a significant amount of resources.
The alluring woman hailed from Blue Sea Gathering Land, home to over ten thousand humans, yet among them, there were only nine Evolvers and a single Magic Psychokinesis Master.
This scarcity highlighted just how rare and exceptional these individuals were.
And Tan Chong, so young to have achieved the status of both Evolver and Magic Psychokinesis Master, was nothing short of extraordinary.
Realizing she had antagonized a being of such formidable power, the alluring woman¡¯s face drained of color, and she began to shake uncontrobly.
Tan Chong merely smiled, not uttering a word, as he raised his Chopping de halfway into the air.
¡°Wait, please, don¡¯t kill me,¡± she pleaded, sensing the imminence of death.
¡°What use are you?¡± Tan Chong inquired, the Chopping de poised and still.
Slowly rising, the alluring woman knelt at Tan Chong¡¯s feet, her face radiating seduction as she cooed, ¡°I¡¯m very skilled at attending to others.¡±
With those words, she started to disrobe.
Tan Chong suddenly felt a wave of cold wash over him, apanied by a wave of nausea.
The alluring woman had her charms, with a figure to match. Yet, Tan Chong couldn¡¯t shake the thought that she had likely been intimate with numerous men.
¡°Go to hell!¡±
Without waiting for her to disrobe, Tan Chong showed no mercy as he brought his Chopping de down in a swift strike.
To herst breath, the alluring woman couldn¡¯t fathom why Tan Chong had decided to end her life.
Her head was cleaved in two, marking the end of her sordid existence.
Tan Chong spat on the corpse of the alluring woman before turning to make his way back to the third floor.
He still needed to search the bodies of the two men there, not to mention collect the supplies.
As for the possibility of the alluring woman carrying Energy Stones or anything of value, Tan Chong had no intention of searching her. Her body was too tainted for his liking.
Ten minutester, Tan Chong was back on the second floor.
He had found two Energy Stones, a wee bonus to his haul.
He also cleared out the food from the room, stowing everything in his storage bag.
In another room on the second floor lurked two zombies. Since finding the shards, Tan Chong¡¯s interest in dispatching zombies had only grown.
He kicked the door open and charged in, de at the ready.
With two swift shes, Tan Chong dispatched the zombies with lethal precision.
Regrettably, no shards were to be found this time.
After retrieving two more Energy Stones, Tan Chong left the apartment building.
Chapter 11
C11 ¨C Return to Celestial South Gathering Land!
Tan Chong nced at the sky and decided it was time to head back to Celestial South Gathering Land.
He needed at least two hours to make it back to the Gathering Land. If he didn¡¯t make it back before nightfall, he¡¯d be in danger, as zombies were known to be more active at night.
?Even an Evolver like himself wasn¡¯t safe from the threat of arge horde of zombies.
With that in mind, Tan Chong made haste toward Celestial South Gathering Land.
Along the way, he swiftly dispatched any lone zombies he encountered. Despite killing several, he hadn¡¯t managed to find any fragments.
?Yet, Tan Chong wasn¡¯t overly disappointed. He understood that there was always a chance to find fragments, and if not this time, perhaps he¡¯d have better luck on his next outing.
Besides, he had already found three fragments today, which left him feeling quite satisfied.
?As dusk settled four hourster, Tan Chong finally reached the gates of Celestial South Gathering Land. The settlement was established on a vast in, encircled by towering walls made of massive green stones, each wall standing seven to eight meters high.
Ordinary zombies and Mutated Beasts would find it nearly impossible to scale such heights, especially with guards vigntly monitoring the walls around the clock.
Life within Celestial South Gathering Land was exceedingly safe, with residents free from the worry of zombie and Mutated Beast attacks.
The management of the Gathering Land, however, was stringent. At night, the gates were firmly shut, only opening for individuals of particr importance.
As an unremarkable figure, Tan Chong certainly didn¡¯t qualify for such privileges.
?Upon reaching the gate, he was stopped by a guard whose duties included verifying the identities of those entering the Gathering Land and ensuring no one was injured or bitten by zombies, as such individuals were strictly forbidden entry.
¡°Tan Chong, why are you returning alone? Where are Chen Dong and the others?¡± inquired the guard while examining Tan Chong for injuries.
?¡±Have they not returned yet?¡± Tan Chong asked, his face etched with concern.
He had already devised a n on his return journey, given the unique status of Chen Dong.
¡°None of them, including Chen Dong, havee back. What¡¯s happening?¡± The guard grasped the gravity of the situation.
¡°We ventured into a deserted city intending to scavenge for supplies, but it was swarming with zombies, so we were forced to scatter,¡± Tan Chong exined.
¡°Are Captain Chen and the others still alive?¡± the guard inquired anxiously.
Tan Chong could only shake his head, his expression one of uncertainty.
¡°This is grave. You must report to your superiors immediately,¡± the guard said, swiftly allowing Tan Chong to pass.
Acknowledging with a nod, Tan Chong made his way quickly toward the heart of the Gathering Land.
Teams like Tan Chong¡¯s, dedicated to resource collection, were known as Mercenary Teams.
The headquarters of the Tiannan Mercenary Team was situated a short distance from the Gathering Land¡¯s main gate. The head of the team was Ming Dong, a rugged-looking middle-aged man with formidable strength.
?Ming Dong was a Level 1 Evolver.
Upon reporting the situation to Ming Dong at the Mercenary Team headquarters, Ming Dong¡¯s demeanor took on a note of concern.
¡°Tan Chong, are you certain of this?¡± Ming Dong looked intently at Tan Chong and questioned.

Chapter 12
C12 ¨C Ask!
Chen Dong was the son of Chen Haiyang. Should any misfortune befall him, even Ming Dong would struggle to justify it to Chen Haiyang.
¡°It¡¯s all true,¡± Tan Chong affirmed with emphasis.
Ming Dong observed Tan Chong¡¯s demeanor and sensed no deception. He let out a deep sigh and called out to a guard, ¡°Someone, fetch Deputy Chief Ming, please.¡±
¡°Right away.¡± The guard responded and quickly departed.
Tan Chong stood to the side, hisposure intact.
Before long, an irate Chen Haiyang arrived. He burst through the door and bellowed at Ming Dong, ¡°What in the world is going on? Why hasn¡¯t my son returned?¡±
Ming Dong¡¯s brow creased slightly, clearly displeased with Chen Haiyang¡¯s tone, yet he managed to keep his cool and exined, ¡°Chen Dong and his group were overwhelmed by a horde of zombies. It¡¯s likely they¡¯re trapped and can¡¯t break free.¡±
Ming Dong delivered his exnation with a soft touch, though everyone understood the grim reality: being encircled by a swarm of zombies often meant certain death.
Chen Haiyang was visibly unsatisfied with Ming Dong¡¯s ount. His face tensed with anger as he fixed a menacing stare on Tan Chong. ¡°If my son is trapped, how did you manage to return alive?¡±
Tan Chong had been on the same team as Chen Dong. Having met him before, Chen Haiyang recognized Tan Chong immediately.
After a brief pause, Tan Chong responded, ¡°When we were dispersed by the zombies, it¡¯s possible that Chen Dong and the others weren¡¯t actually surrounded. They might have found safety somewhere and are simply unable to make it back at the moment.¡±
?¡±Really?¡± Chen Haiyang scoffed, stepping closer to Tan Chong with a piercing look in his eyes. ¡°If Chen Dong and the rest are stronger than you, howe you¡¯re here and they¡¯re not? What exactly are you hiding from me?¡±
Chen Haiyang was seething with rage. Regardless of the truth in Tan Chong¡¯s words, he was intent on giving him a hard time.
Tan Chong¡¯s pupils contracted sharply, a fleeting hint of murderous intent passing through them.
To him, with his current capabilities, Chen Haiyang was inconsequential.
But he was mindful of the fact that Chen Haiyang was a Level 1 Evolver with considerable influence in the Celestial South Gathering Land. Should he kill Chen Haiyang, he would instantly be the adversary of the entire Celestial South Gathering Land.
At that point, he would be the target of a relentless pursuit by a host of skilled individuals. It would be increasingly difficult for him to remain in the Celestial South Gathering Land.
¡°If you don¡¯t believe me, there¡¯s nothing I can do,¡± Tan Chong said as he withdrew his aggressive stance and spread his hands in a gesture of resignation, disregarding Chen Haiyang¡¯s intimidation.
Chen Haiyang, observing Tan Chong¡¯s undaunted demeanor, was infuriated. He menacingly threatened, ¡°It seems that unless I resort to severe measures, you¡¯re not going to speak the truth.¡±
No sooner had he spoken than he lifted his hand, ready to discipline Tan Chong.
Ming Dong could not stand idly by. While Chen Haiyang¡¯s domineering behavior might be tolerated in his own domain, it was uneptable for him to publicly reprimand Ming Dong¡¯s subordinate.
Should word of this incident spread, it would undermine his authority as the team captain. How would hemand the respect of his subordinates thereafter?
¡°Vice Leader, please, this isn¡¯t the way!¡± Ming Dong stepped in front of Tan Chong.
¡°Ming Dong, are you trying to protect him?¡± Chen Haiyang, teeth clenched, his expression growing increasingly fierce.
Ming Dong¡¯s patience had reached its limit. He had held Chen Haiyang in high regard, but he never imagined Chen Haiyang would so tantly disregard his dignity.
Ming Dong¡¯s standing within the Celestial South Gathering Land was no less than Chen Haiyang¡¯s.
Ming Dong, with a stern expression, said icily, ¡°Vice Leader, you cannot harm Tan Chong until the facts are clear. That¡¯s thew of the Celestial South Gathering Land.¡±
Chen Haiyang, realizing Ming Dong¡¯s change in attitude, regained hisposure.
Indeed, such a regtion existed within the Celestial South Gathering Land. Without evidence, no one was permitted to harm its members.
This immutable rule was established by the leader, Jin Cuoshi.
Even as Vice Leader, Chen Haiyang would not dare to flout this rule.
After all, Jin Cuoshi was a Level 2 Evolver, and Chen Haiyang could not afford to face the repercussions of his wrath.

Chapter 13
C13 ¨C I¡¯ll Wait for You!
Chen Haiyang, struggling to contain his fury, said, ¡°Ming Dong, I¡¯m showing you respect today. But Tan Chong has to be detained. Until I find out where my son is, he¡¯s not going anywhere.¡±
Ming Dong nodded in agreement.
As the Vice Leader of the Celestial South Gathering Land, Chen Haiyang¡¯s demand was entirely within reason.
Tan Chong let out a scornfulugh and challenged, ¡°On what grounds are you imprisoning me?¡±
Why should Chen Haiyang imprison him without a shred of evidence?
Others might fear Chen Haiyang¡¯s status, but Tan Chong couldn¡¯t care less.
Ming Dong was taken aback by Tan Chong¡¯s audacity.
He couldn¡¯t fathom why Tan Chong would address Chen Haiyang with such insolence. Was there something wrong with his reasoning?
Chen Haiyang¡¯s mouth twitched slightly, his face darkening. Clenching his teeth, he said, ¡°Because I am the Vice Leader of the Celestial South Gathering Land.¡±
¡°So being the Vice Leader means you can flout the rules and oppress the weak?¡±
Tan Chong¡¯s lips twisted into a mocking sneer. ¡°Judging by the way you talk, one might mistake you for the Leader.¡±
Ming Dong was speechless.
Tan Chong was a changed man. It was as if he had be someone entirely different.
Facing the formidable Chen Haiyang, Tan Chong showed not a hint of fear, not even deigning to acknowledge his high status.
Was he truly without fear?
Ming Dong was at a loss for words.
Chen Haiyang¡¯s expression was stormy, his fists clenched. A palpable aura of malice enveloped him.
Tan Chong was a nobody; how dare he be so brazen? Were it not for the mercenary headquarters, Chen Haiyang would have in Tan Chong without hesitation.
Seeing Chen Haiyang¡¯s escting anger, Ming Dong quickly intervened, ¡°Vice Leader, perhaps we should keep Tan Chong confined to his home. Until we get to the bottom of this, it¡¯s best he doesn¡¯t roam free.¡±
Chen Haiyang¡¯s teeth remained gritted, his gaze sharp and menacing. He gave Tan Chong a cold once-over and huffed, ¡°You¡¯ve got nerve. We¡¯ll see how this ys out.¡±
After finishing his statement, he waved his hand and stepped outside.
Eliminating Tan Chong in such a setting was challenging, but as long as Tan Chong remained within the Celestial South Gathering Land, Chen Haiyang had numerous strategies to handle him.
Furthermore, Chen Haiyang had no intention of letting Tan Chong die swiftly. He yearned to make Tan Chong endure a life more torturous than death to soothe the fury in his heart.
As Chen Haiyang was about to exit the room, Tan Chong¡¯s voice rang out, ¡°I¡¯ll be waiting for you!¡± Having already severed ties with Chen Haiyang, Tan Chong figured he might as well keep provoking him.
?Should Chen Haiyang make a reckless move, Tan Chong would seize the chance to eliminate him. The worst consequence would be that he¡¯d be confined to the Celestial South Gathering Land.
Chen Haiyang nearly stumbled upon hearing Tan Chong¡¯s challenge. Yet, he remained silent and departed without turning back.
?At that moment, Ming Dong approached Tan Chong, offering a wry smile, ¡°Tan Chong, you¡¯ve acted too rashly.¡±
Tan Chong had just thoroughly antagonized Chen Haiyang by showing him no respect. Given Chen Haiyang¡¯s vengeful nature, he was bound to seek retribution. Tan Chong¡¯s life could be at risk because of it.
With a slight smile, Tan Chong responded, ¡°Captain Ming, I¡¯m heading back now.¡±
Ming Dong nodded and murmured a caution, ¡°Be very careful!¡±
¡°Don¡¯t worry,¡± Tan Chong assured him, then turned and walked away.
Ming Dong watched Tan Chong¡¯s retreating figure, sighing softly, ¡°He¡¯s so young.¡±
Tan Chong¡¯s home was a modest, rundown house. Despite its dpidated appearance, it was his sanctuary.
Back at home, he opened his storage bag and retrieved a can of food, beginning to eat leisurely.
Suddenly, cries erupted from outside, ¡°The zombies are attacking!¡±
¡°Too many zombies, run for your lives!¡±
Tan Chong had barely started on his meal when the disturbance outside erupted.
Chapter 14
C14 ¨C Attack!
¡°What¡¯s happening? Have zombies actually breached the Gathering Land?¡± Tan Chong¡¯s face showed a hint of concern as his mind raced for answers.
Logically, the walls of the Celestial South Gathering Land were tall and sturdy, imprable to ordinary zombies. Could it be that High Level Zombies hadunched an attack on Celestial South Gathering Land?
Zombies, like humans, were categorized by levels. The formidable ones were akin to Evolvers among humans.
Moreover, the higher the level of the zombie, the greater their intelligence.
If the Celestial South Gathering Land had indeed beenpromised, Tan Chong suspected that High Level Zombies must be involved.
¡°Tan Chong.¡± Just then, a young woman with a lithe figure and stunning looks burst in, her face etched with panic.
¡°Jiang Qiu, what brings you here?¡± Tan Chong¡¯s eyes brightened at her sight.
Jiang Qiu was among the most sought-after beauties in Celestial South Gathering Land, with no shortage of admirers. Yet she showed little interest in anyone but Tan Chong.
Over the course of a year, as they gradually got to know each other, their rapport had grown, and their affection deepened.
Jiang Qiu had be the person Tan Chong cared for most in these apocalyptic times.
¡°Tan Chong, it¡¯s terrible! The Gathering Land has been overrun, zombies are everywhere. We need to run,¡± Jiang Qiu panted as she exined.
¡°Let¡¯s go!¡±
Without wasting time on further questions, Tan Chong quickly got to his feet and pulled Jiang Qiu towards the exit.
Outside, the sounds of fiercebat indicated that the Celestial South Gathering Land might be swarming with zombies. Any dy could mean greater danger.
Unexpectedly, just as they reached the courtyard entrance, they were confronted.
¡°Tan Chong, tell me where my son is, or I swear I¡¯ll kill you!¡±
The man blocking their way was Chen Haiyang, his expression menacing as he brandished arge axe.
¡°Vice Leader, the ce is infested with zombies, we need to get out of here and discuss thister,¡± Jiang Qiu urged, her voiceced with urgency.
She didn¡¯t understand Chen Haiyang¡¯s demand, but with the situation so dire, her only thought was to flee.
¡°If you don¡¯t want to die, move aside!¡± Tan Chong¡¯s expression darkened; he had no interest in offering an exnation.
Celestial South Gathering Land had been overrun. Chen Haiyang, as the Vice Leader, chose not tobat the zombies. Instead, he sought to cause trouble for Tan Chong.
Tan Chong was deeply displeased. Should Chen Haiyang persist in hindering him, Tan Chong was ready to eliminate him.
¡°You¡¯re quite bold! Today, I¡¯ll see just how strong you are,¡± Chen Haiyang bellowed, lifting his massive axe, his gaze emanating a brutal intent.
?No sooner had he spoken than his axe was already cleaving down towards Tan Chong.
Jiang Qiu¡¯s face nched with terror, and she let out a scream.
Tan Chong had been anticipating Chen Haiyang¡¯s assault. In that moment, he acted, pulling Jiang Qiu back with him.
A thunderous crash echoed as the axe fell, viciously striking the spot where Tan Chong had stood moments before, gouging a vast fissure in the earth.
¡°How can this be?¡± Chen Haiyang¡¯s eyelids twitched in disbelief.
Tan Chong had managed to evade his lethal strike, catching himpletely off guard.
?¡±You¡¯re going to be killed by me!¡± Tan Chong dered, his eyes glinting with a frosty resolve. He lifted his hand, and a wind de flew forth.
¡°This is a magic skill. You¡¯re a Magic Psychokinesis Master!¡± Jiang Qiu¡¯s eyes were wide with astonishment, her expression dazed.
She had clearly witnessed the wind de that Tan Chong had unleashed, a hallmark attack of a Magic Psychokinesis Master.
Yet, having been with Tan Chong for a year, she had never seen him employ a magic skill, nor had she ever heard him im to be a Magic Psychokinesis Master.
¡°Magic skill!¡± Chen Haiyang was startled, hastily retracting his axe to shield himself.
The wind de struck the axe, sparking a cascade of sparks. Chen Haiyang waspelled to stagger back several steps.
Though unharmed, fear had taken root in his heart.
Tan Chong was indeed a Magic Psychokinesis Master, an unforeseen revtion to Chen Haiyang.
By now, Tan Chong had closed in on Chen Haiyang, brandishing his de in a sweeping horizontal strike.
¡°What¡¯s happening?¡± Chen Haiyang¡¯s heart quivered with trepidation.
Tan Chong¡¯s speed was astonishing. He was not any slower than his opponent.
Could Tan Chong be an Evolver?
Chen Haiyang¡¯s mind was riddled with doubts, yet there was no time to ponder. He grasped the giant axe and positioned it to intercept the iing Chopping de attack.
The Chopping de and the axe shed with a thunderous crash.
Chen Haiyang felt an immense force and involuntarily staggered backward two steps. Mid-retreat, he eximed in shock, ¡°You¡¯re actually an Evolver!¡±
The hallmark of a human bing an Evolver was a marked increase in speed and a surge in immense strength.
Tan Chong possessed both traits; he was clearly an Evolver.
¡°Evolver.¡± The word echoed chaotically in Jiang Qiu¡¯s head.
Meanwhile, Tan Chong also stepped back twice. Once he steadied himself, he lifted his hands.
A fireball the size of a fist hurtled towards Chen Haiyang, followed by a green tendril of light targeting his feet.
¡°Fire Ball Arts.¡± Chen Haiyang¡¯s face registered utter disbelief.
Typically, Magic Psychokinesis Masters could wield only one attribute of magic skill inbat. A dual-attribute practitioner like Tan Chong was exceedingly rare.
Realizing that Tan Chong was also an Evolver, Chen Haiyang was consumed by an overwhelming sense of dread. He cast aside his axe and turned to flee.
Chapter 15
C15 ¨C The Zombie Invasion!
The giant axe shed with the fireball, erupting in a thunderous boom. Sparks scattered everywhere.
Chen Haiyang was about to flee when he suddenly realized his feet were ensnared. He waspletely immobilized.
¡°What is this?¡±
Chen Haiyang instinctively looked down and terror washed over his face as he saw a green vine entwining his feet.
¡°Wood Type Interwining Arts!¡± The thought barely crossed Chen Haiyang¡¯s mind before he saw Tan Chong bring down the Chopping de with both hands.
It was toote for Chen Haiyang to evade; he screamed in utter despair.
Tan Chong¡¯s de came down, cleaving Chen Haiyang¡¯s head in two.
Chen Haiyang¡¯s body copsed to the ground.
¡°He¡¯s dead, just like that?¡± Jiang Qiu whispered to herself, her face a mask of shock.
The fight between Tan Chong and Chen Haiyang had been swift.
In such a brief span, a Level 1 Evolver had been in by Tan Chong.
Even though Jiang Qiu had witnessed it firsthand, she found it hard to believe.
¡°Jiang Qiu, we need to move, now!¡± Tan Chong called out, noticing her shock.
Snapping out of it, Jiang Qiu quickly ran to join Tan Chong.
?As they exited, they were greeted by a harrowing sight. The entire Gathering Land was engulfed in mes, the sky above dyed a fiery red.
Zombies and humans were locked in a fierce battle, the scene one of utter chaos.
Tan Chong could see the humans were losing ground. With the relentless onught of zombies, their fate seemed sealed.
¡°Tan Chong, what do we do?¡± Jiang Qiu had never been exposed to such carnage and terror.
¡°Come with me!¡±
Tan Chong scanned the surroundings and pulled Jiang Qiu towards the outskirts of the city.
In these dire circumstances, their only chance was to flee the Gathering Land as quickly as possible.
He was ready to risk everything.
¡°Watch out!¡±
Out of nowhere, two zombies lunged at Jiang Qiu. Tan Chong¡¯s reflexes were swift; he yanked Jiang Qiu aside while his other hand brandished the Chopping de.
The heads of both zombies tumbled to the ground.
As one of the zombies fell, a blue light emanated from its body.
¡°Fragment!¡± Tan Chong¡¯s eyes sparkled.
Despite the perilous situation, he was determined not to abandon the fragment. He dashed forward and scooped it up.
¡°You¡¯ve retrieved a Level 1 Pulse Pistol fragment. You can use it now.¡±
¡°I want to use it!¡±
Instantly, a silver pistol materialized in Tan Chong¡¯s hands.
Simultaneously, knowledge on how to operate the Pulse Pistol flooded his mind.
Tan Chong nced at it and promptly stowed the Pulse Pistol in his storage bag.
¡°Tan Chong, what are you up to?¡±
Jiang Qiu noticed the unfamiliar object in Tan Chong¡¯s grasp and was utterly baffled.
¡°Can¡¯t you see the fragment?¡± Tan Chong inquired.
The blue shard had emitted a conspicuous glow; Jiang Qiu should have definitely been able to see it.
¡°What fragment? I didn¡¯t see anything!¡± Jiang Qiu¡¯s confusion deepened.
Chapter 16
C16 ¨C I Won¡¯t Leave You Behind!
Tan Chong surmised that he might be the only one able to see the shard.
¡°Let¡¯s go.¡±
There was no time for Tan Chong to exin to Jiang Qiu. A horde of zombies was charging toward them.
He grabbed Jiang Qiu¡¯s hand and sprinted toward the gate of the Gathering Land.
Outside the gate, hundreds of humans were amassed, clearly seeking an escape.
Yet, a formidable throng of zombies was also present, engaged in fiercebat with the humans. Casualties were falling on both sides.
?Tan Chong realized that their only chance of survival was to break through the gate.
As he charged forward, heunched a fireball with a swift gesture of his hand.
The fireball detonated among the Zombie Group, scattering several zombies.
Currently a Level 1 Magic Psychokinesis Master, Tan Chong knew the Fire Ball Arts he wielded were not overwhelmingly powerful, but they had a significant impact.
¡°Brothers, we¡¯ve got a Magic Psychokinesis Master here! Let¡¯s push forward together!¡±
The sight of a Magic Psychokinesis Master joining the fray galvanized the humans, who surged toward the zombies with renewed vigor.
This newfound momentum allowed them to break through the siege.
Tan Chong, with Jiang Qiu in tow, followed the others, periodically casting fireballs and wind des to provide substantial support to their human allies.
Their escape from the Gathering Land, however, did not mean they were out of danger.
The area was swarming with zombies, and it wasn¡¯t long before they were encircled once again.
Tan Chong instructed Jiang Qiu to stay close behind him as he took the lead, relentlessly swinging his Chopping de and ying numerous zombies.
Inspired by Tan Chong¡¯s prowess, the people around them tapped into their deepest reserves of strength.
Eventually, after Tan Chong dispatched another zombie, they found no more zombies blocking their path.
¡°We¡¯ve finally made it out.¡±
Covered in blood and panting from exhaustion, Tan Chong surveyed the few survivors, including Jiang Qiu, who numbered barely a dozen.
¡°Tan Chong, there are more zombiesing up from behind.¡±
Jiang Qiu¡¯s warning came just as Tan Chong was trying to catch his breath.
He spun around to see arge horde of zombies bearing down on them, numbering well over a hundred.
Though they had broken free from the encirclement, the zombies were evidently not willing to give up their pursuit.
¡°The zombies areing, run for it!¡±
People nearby were terrified, scattering in all directions.
¡°Let¡¯s move.¡±
Tan Chong clenched his jaw and, grabbing Jiang Qiu¡¯s hand, sprinted forward with her.
¡°Help me!¡±
The chilling screams reverberated through the night, heightening Tan Chong¡¯s anxiety.
Ordinary humans simply couldn¡¯t outrun zombies. Those screams signified that the zombies had overtaken the fleeing individuals.
¡°Tan Chong, stop worrying about me! Just go!¡±
As the zombies drew nearer, Jiang Qiu became increasingly desperate.
As an Evolver, Tan Chong could easily outpace the zombies.
If she remained by his side, she would drastically reduce his speed, and continuing like this, they would both perish.
¡°Even at the risk of my own life, I won¡¯t abandon you,¡± Tan Chong dered resolutely, gripping Jiang Qiu¡¯s hand so tightly as if he feared she might slip away.
Tears welled up in Jiang Qiu¡¯s eyes. She was deeply moved, yet overwhelmed with guilt.
Because of her, Tan Chong might meet his end as well.
Chapter 17
C17 ¨C Ming Dong Came to Help!
Tan Chong gripped Jiang Qiu¡¯s hand as they sprinted over a hundred meters, yet the zombies inevitably caught up with them.
Protecting Jiang Qiu, Tan Chong licked his parched lips and slowly lifted the Chopping de.
¡°Tan Chong, are we going to die?¡±
Jiang Qiu nestled against Tan Chong, feeling an extraordinary warmth. She wasn¡¯t scared; instead, she felt a deep reluctance to leave Tan Chong behind.
¡°They¡¯re just a bunch of walking corpses,¡± Tan Chong dered, bursting into wildughter as he hurled a fireball with a flick of his wrist.
?The leading zombie was sted in half, but the others, undeterred, continued their frenzied charge toward Tan Chong.
The sight of their grotesque and fearsome faces induced a suffocating terror. Jiang Qiu was already ashen-faced, her body shaking uncontrobly.
Yet Tan Chong stood resolute, fearless. He unleashed a wind de, severing the heads of two zombies.
As more zombies closed in, Tan Chong¡¯s Chopping de swept through them, its violent power radiating from the de¡¯s edge, and in an instant, five more zombiesy dead.
A ck beam of light emanated from one of the fallen zombies.
¡°ck fragment!¡±
Tan Chong had never seen a ck fragment before. He was eager to retrieve it, but the overwhelming number of zombies made it impossible to spare a moment for it.
With another powerful sh, the de¡¯s fierce wind howled.
The sound of bones shattering filled the air as several more zombies, attempting to advance, were in.
But the zombies were too numerous. They quickly hemmed Jiang Qiu and Tan Chong into a tight space.
In that dire moment, a beam of light pierced the darkness, followed by the thunderous sound of an engine.
¡°The Base Car from Celestial South Gathering Land! Tan Chong, we¡¯re going to make it!¡± Jiang Qiu eximed, overjoyed.
Tan Chong¡¯s heart surged with excitement.
The Base Car from Celestial South Gathering Land was roughly the size of a van from his past life, its body armored with thick steel tes capable of withstanding a small horde of zombies.
The Base Car moved swiftly, a beacon of safety in the apocalyptic world.
In the Celestial South Gathering Land, there were only three such Base Cars.
The Base Car¡¯s arrival instantly drew the zombies¡¯ attention. The horde that had been encircling Tan Chong split, with half of them charging toward the vehicle.
As the Base Car plowed forward, any zombie that attempted to block its path was sent flying.
With a screech of the brakes, the Base Car swerved to a halt beside Tan Chong.
¡°Tan Chong, get in!¡±
As the door swung open, a rugged man burst out. It was none other than Captain Ming, leader of the Celestial South Gathering Land¡¯s Mercenary Team.
¡°Captain Ming!¡± Tan Chong¡¯s face registered surprise.
He hadn¡¯t expected Ming Dong to survive the ordeal at the Gathering Land, much lesse to his aid.
¡°Get on, quick!¡±
Captain Ming bellowed, gripping a hefty Chopping de in his hands, swinging it savagely. Zombies daring to draw near were cleaved down without mercy.
Tan Chong, snapping to action, covered for Jiang Qiu to board the Base Car first, while he remained outside, showing no signs of wanting to get in.
¡°Tan Chong,e on, get in!¡± Jiang Qiu, seeing him hesitate, called out in desperation.
¡°Tan Chong, it¡¯s now or never!¡±
Besides Jiang Qiu, there were two other men in the Base Car, who were also yelling at Tan Chong.
¡°Seal the door,¡± Tan Chong replied, then turned to Captain Ming, ¡°Let¡¯s take these zombies down together!¡±
¡°What? Have you lost your mind?¡± Captain Ming was taken aback, almost disbelieving his ears.
With over seventy zombies encircling them, could they truly take them all out?
This was a recipe for disaster.
In that instant, Captain Ming even wondered if Tan Chong had lost his sanity.

¡°Tan Chong has lost his mind! Does he really think he¡¯s an Evolver? Even if he were, there¡¯s no way he could take down that many zombies, right?¡± jeered one of the two men in the car, a gaunt figure with a sleazy appearance.
They hadn¡¯t witnessed Tan Chong taking out any zombies on their way over, so they had no idea about the extent of his capabilities.
Tan Chong was determined to eliminate this horde of zombies not only to collect over a hundred Energy Stones but also to acquire the fragments. Of course, taking out such arge number of zombies was no simple feat.
?Considering his abilities as both a Psychokinesis Master and an Evolver, and with Ming Dong¡¯s support, Tan Chong was confident they could wipe out the zombie group. And if they couldn¡¯t hold off the zombie onught, they could always jump in the car and make a quick getaway.
?To convince Ming Dong of his strength, Tan Chong decided to demonstrate his power. Heunched a fireball with a flick of his hand, and with a thunderous explosion, a zombie¡¯s head was obliterated.
?Tan Chong then charged forward, de in hand. His sword glinted as he mowed down zombies with ease, like reaping wheat. In just moments, he had in over a dozen.
¡°Oh my God!¡±
?Ming Dong watched in utter astonishment. He had always thought of Tan Chong as the weakest link in their Mercenary Team. How had his strength surged so dramatically in such a short time?
Tan Chong was not only a Magic Psychokinesis Master but also an Evolver. Ming Dong didn¡¯t know much about the former, so he couldn¡¯t gauge how formidable Tan Chong was in that role. However, as a Level 1 Evolver himself, Ming Dong could deeply appreciate Tan Chong¡¯s prowess as an Evolver.
?Tan Chong dispatched zombies with the same ease as slicing through vegetables, proving to be even more formidable than Ming Dong. Now, he had no doubts about Tan Chong¡¯s ability to annihte the horde. Gripping his own de, he joined Tan Chong in the fray.
¡°Why has he be so powerful?¡± The sleazy man inside the car scowled, his face darkening. He was part of the Mercenary Team too, and although not on Tan Chong¡¯s squad, they were acquainted.
?Previously, both he and Tan Chong were seen as the weakest among their peers.
Yet, he never imagined Tan Chong would be so formidable, reaching heights that forced him to look up in awe.
This vast disparity ignited a deep-seated jealousy within him, his eyes betraying a flicker of resentment and bitterness.
¡°Tan Chong is incredibly powerful. He¡¯s nothing short of a prodigy in cultivation!¡±
Standing next to Jiang Qiu was a short, muscr man, not nearly as malicious as the sleazy one. Upon witnessing Tan Chong¡¯s abilities, he couldn¡¯t help but exim with excitement.
He had never encountered or even heard of someone who could be both a Magic Psychokinesis Master and an Evolver, yet Tan Chong had achieved just that.
In his mind, the term ¡®genius¡¯ seemed inadequate to describe Tan Chong; ¡®phenomenon¡¯ might be a more fittingbel.
Jiang Qiu¡¯s lips were pursed lightly, her eyes gleaming with excitement.
She had been aware of Tan Chong¡¯s strength, but in this moment, her emotions surged with exhration.
When she had chosen Tan Chong as her boyfriend, many had counseled her to abandon the thought, iming he wasn¡¯t good enough for her.
But what caught her eye were Tan Chong¡¯sposure, intelligence, and sense of responsibility. She resolutely chose to stand by him.
She had always had faith that Tan Chong would someday achieve greatness andmand the admiration of many.
She just hadn¡¯t expected that day to arrive so swiftly.
Right then, Jiang Qiu was itching to scream at the top of her lungs.
She wanted to dere, ¡°Take a good look at how exceptional the man I chose is!
Are you all green with envy? Filled with regret?
But it¡¯s toote now, because Tan Chong is my man, and nobody can take him away from me!¡±

Chapter 19
C19 ¨C Tan Chong Collected Ten Pieces!
Outside the Base Car, Tan Chong and Ming Dong had sessfully eliminated most of the zombies, leaving the few survivors posing no real threat to them.
¡°Let¡¯s give it our all, Captain Ming!¡± Tan Chong eximed, relentlessly swinging his Chopping de and cutting down countless zombies.
¡°Right! Let¡¯s not leave a single one alive!¡± Ming Dong replied, his excitement palpable.
Since bing the head of the Mercenary Team, he seldom had the chance to hunt zombies outside. The fervor of his youth for the hunt had gradually diminished over time.
Now, fighting alongside Tan Chong, he felt a resurgence of his youthful vigor.
In that moment, he was like a lion reawakened, his full strength on disy, dispatching zombies even more swiftly than Tan Chong.
In under five minutes, the pair had ughtered the remaining zombies.
Tan Chong and Ming Dong stood tall among the fallen, surrounded by the lifeless bodies of their foes.
¡°Unbelievable! Tan Chong and Captain Ming actually pulled it off!¡± The stocky man¡¯s mouth hung open in astonishment.
Had he not witnessed it himself, he would never have believed that just the two of them could take down so many zombies.
Their incredible feat was something that might be met with skepticism if shared.
Tan Chong¡¯s eyes narrowed as he scanned the area, spotting ten beams of light shining from the corpses.
¡°Ten fragments!¡± he eximed, a hint of excitement in his voice.
He hadn¡¯t anticipated such a bounty of fragments all at once.
Taking a deep breath to steady himself, Tan Chong turned to Ming Dong and suggested, ¡°Captain Ming, we should start collecting the Energy Stones now.¡±
Over a hundred zombie bodies meant over a hundred Energy Stones¡ªa veritable fortune that would tempt anyone.
¡°Mao Zhe, Cao Rann,e down and lend a hand,¡± Ming Dong called out to the others in the car, leading the way in harvesting the Energy Stones.
Mao Zhe and Cao Rann eagerly jumped out of the car, with Jiang Qiu following suit.
Tan Chong took his time, his attention on the ten fragments still up for grabs.
He picked up a ck fragment, and a voice echoed in his mind: ¡°You have picked up a fragment from the Doomsday Merchant Shop. It cannot be used at the moment.¡±
?Tan Chong had never before encountered a situation with iplete fragments. He paused briefly in surprise before dashing towards the location of the other shards.
¡°Tan Chong, what are you up to?¡±
Cao Rann watched as Tan Chong zigzagged around, asionally snatching at the air, and asked with curiosity.
?¡±Just leave him be. We should focus on mining the Energy Stones,¡± suggested Jiang Qiu, who suspected Tan Chong was collecting the ¡®fragments¡¯ he had mentioned earlier. She kept his secret to herself, though.
Meanwhile, Tan Chong continued to gather fragments, with a bizarre voice resounding in his mind:
¡°You have collected a fragment of the Intelligent Chariot. It is currently unusable.¡±
¡°You have collected a fragment of the No-level Gatlin Machine Gun (1/3). It is currently unusable.¡±
¡°You have collected a fragment of the Hard Fruit Seed (1/1). You may use it.¡±
¡°You have collected a fragment of the Pet Medicinal Water (1/1). You may use it.¡±
¡°You have collected a fragment of the Heavenly Astral Star Fragments (1/10). It is currently unusable.¡±
¡°You have collected a fragment of the Level 1 Mechanical Battle Soldier (1/10). It is currently unusable.¡±
¡°You have collected a fragment of the Super Electric Drill (1/1). You may use it.¡±
¡°You¡¯ve collected a fragment of the Doomsday Merchant Shop (2/10). It is currently unusable.¡±
¡°You have collected a fragment of the antiviral liquid medicine (1/1). You may use it.¡±
Out of the ten fragments, four could be used immediately, while the remaining six were not yet avable for use.

Chapter 20
C20 ¨C Distribute the Energy Stone!
The usable fragments included the Hard Fruit Seed, Pet Medicinal Water, Super Electric Drill, and antiviral liquid medicine. The Hard Fruit Seed resembled a melon seed but was the size of a palm and yellow in color. Once nted, it would swiftly grow into a Hard Fruit approximately two meters tall and a meter wide. This Hard Fruit was as unbreakable as rock, impervious to damage from ordinary weapons.
Tan Chong considered that with an abundance of Hard Fruit Seeds, he could construct a small shelter. However, with only one seed, its usefulness would be limited. Pet Medicinal Water came in a small ss vial filled with a green liquid. If a Mutated Beast consumed it, the creature would bepletely loyal to its master. This prospect greatly appealed to Tan Chong, especially since Mutated Beasts were numerous and formidable in the apocalypse, rivaling even the Evolvers in strength.
He envisioned using the Pet Medicinal Water to tame Mutated Beasts continuously, potentially forming an army of them. Such a loyal force could enable him to dominate the post-apocalyptic world. The Super Electric Drill, about a meter in length, resembled a standard drill but was powered by an Energy Stone rather than electricity. Once the Energy Stone was fitted and the switch activated, the drill¡¯s potent force could easily prate even the toughest rocks.
?Tan Chong had previously acquired a bottle of the lifesaving antiviral liquid medicine. In addition to this, he had fragments from the Doomsday Merchant Shop, a No-level Gatlin Machine Gun, a Celestial Astral Star Breaking Stone, a Level 1 Mechanical Battle Soldier, and an Intelligent Chariot. Although he couldn¡¯t utilize these fragments immediately, he wasn¡¯t overly disheartened, knowing that as he continued to eliminate zombies, he would eventually gather them all.
Having collected the ten fragments, Tan Chong proceeded to excavate the Energy Stones. Within minutes, all the stones were extracted. The group then boarded the Base Car and swiftly departed.
Under Tan Chong¡¯s leadership, the group began allocating Energy Stones inside the Base Car. With a total of 130 zombies killed, there were an equal number of Energy Stones avable. Tan Chong, having in the most zombies, received the lion¡¯s share of 60 Energy Stones. Ming Dong also had a significant kill count, earning himself 40 Energy Stones. The remaining 30 Energy Stones were divided equally among Jiang Qiu and two others, with each receiving ten.
Cao Rann clutched his ten Energy Stones, his face alight with happiness. Never in his past as a mercenary had he acquired so many at once. For him, ten Energy Stones represented a substantial ie. Both Jiang Qiu and Ming Dong shared in the joy.
Among the five, only Mao Zhe seemed downcast. While ten Energy Stones was not an insignificant number, his envy surfaced whenever he considered Tan Chong¡¯s haul of sixty. Yet, respecting Tan Chong¡¯s formidable abilities, he kept his feelings to himself.
?¡±Tan Chong, when did you be a Magic Psychokinesis Master and an Evolver?¡± Ming Dong inquired, having secured his Energy Stones. The rest of the group, equally curious, fell silent and listened intently.
?¡±A year ago,¡± Tan Chong replied nonchntly. ¡°But I prefer to keep a low profile, so I¡¯ve kept it under wraps.¡± He chose not to mention his method of enhancing his strength through collecting fragments; it was a tale too oundish to share, and one that would likely be met with disbelief.
¡°You really know how to stay under the radar,¡± Ming Dongmented with a smile. He was skeptical of Tan Chong¡¯s story, but he understood that everyone has their secrets and didn¡¯t press further.

Chapter 21
C21 ¨C Vajra City
¡°Jiang Qiu certainly has an eye for talent!¡± Cao Rann remarked appreciatively from the side.
At first, when Jiang Qiu decided to date Tan Chong, he shared the same doubts as everyone else. He couldn¡¯t fathom why Jiang Qiu was drawn to Tan Chong, who back then seemed weak and unremarkable, with no noteworthy background.
?But now, it was clear that Jiang Qiu¡¯s insight was incredibly astute.
No one could have imagined that Tan Chong, seemingly so average, had such depth to him.
Jiang Qiu beamed, gazing at Tan Chong with deep affection.
She also felt a wave of relief wash over her. She was thankful that Tan Chong had kept his true abilities under wraps; otherwise, he would have undoubtedly captured the hearts of numerous women in Celestial South Gathering Land, and she might not have had the chance to be with him.
?Tan Chong, scratching his nose, was suddenly struck by a thought. ¡°Captain Ming, howe there are so many zombies in Celestial South Gathering Land?¡± he inquired.
The fortifications of Celestial South Gathering Land were formidable, and the defenses were rigorous. It seemed imusible that zombies could have breached such a stronghold.
He was still puzzled over how Celestial South Gathering Land had fallen.
¡°It¡¯s because Jin Cuoshi turned into a zombie,¡± Ming Dong stated gravely.
¡°What?¡± Tan Chong eximed in disbelief.
Jin Cuoshi was not only the leader of Celestial South Gathering Land but also a powerful Level 2 Evolver. How could someone of his caliber turn into a zombie?
Ming Dong exhaled deeply and continued, ¡°It appears that Jin Cuoshi deliberately allowed himself to be a zombie. If he hadn¡¯t, he would have died.¡±
Bing a zombie wasn¡¯t entirely negative. At the very least, one¡¯s lifespan became indefinite, able to endure as long as they weren¡¯t killed.
¡°But to be a zombie is to be a mindless, shambling husk, which seems more agonizing than death itself. Why would he choose such a fate?¡± Tan Chong struggled with the concept.
Ming Dong inhaled sharply before responding, ¡°It¡¯s not necessarily as you describe. There¡¯s a small chance that a person can retain their memories and consciousness during the transformation into a zombie. However, the likelihood is exceedingly rare.¡±
¡°So Jin Cuoshi has be a zombie with intelligence?¡± Tan Chong¡¯s eyelids twitched at the thought.
Once a zombie acquires intelligence, it has the potential to ascend to the status of a Corpse King. In time, it couldmand a horde of zombies and be humanity¡¯s foe.
¡°Exactly. I realized this and immediately fled the Celestial South Gathering Land, fortunate enough to make it out alive,¡± Ming Dong recounted with a shudder.
¡°I see,¡± Tan Chong said, the pieces falling into ce.
Jin Cuoshi was already a Level 2 Evolver before his transformation. As a zombie, his strength only increased.
With his retained intelligence post-transformation, he was an unstoppable force within the Celestial South Gathering Land.
¡°Captain Ming, what¡¯s our next move?¡± Tan Chong inquired, after a moment to collect himself.
With the Celestial South Gathering Land overrun by Jin Cuoshi and a swarm of zombies, returning was out of the question.
Without the sanctuary of the Celestial South Gathering Land, they were left to wander. Encountering arge Zombie Group would pose a grave threat.
¡°We¡¯ll head to Vajra City,¡± Ming Dong decided after a brief pause.
Vajra City is an immense Gathering Land, over ten times the size of Celestial South Gathering Land, boasting a poption of two hundred thousand.
The city is teeming with formidable figures, and its lord, Huang Cann, is a powerful Level 3 Evolver.
Vajra City is undoubtedly the safest haven in the region. It would stand strong even against an onught led by a Corpse King.
¡°Why not consider the Blue Sea Gathering Land?¡± Cao Rann interjected, puzzled.
Vajra City, while secure, was farther away. The Blue Sea Gathering Land, by contrast, was much closer.
Tan Chong was familiar with the Blue Sea Gathering Land; the three individuals he had in were from there.

Chapter 22
C22 ¨C The Zombie Wolf Attacked!
The Blue Sea Gathering Land, much like the Celestial South Gathering Land, is a minor hub. Jin Cuoshi has rallied the Zombie Army, and it¡¯s certain that his next move will be to strike the Blue Sea Gathering Land,¡± Ming Dong said with a heavy heart.
¡°How can you be so certain?¡± Tan Chong asked, his brow furrowed.
The others looked at Ming Dong, equally puzzled.
¡°Jin Cuoshi has always been full of ambition. He¡¯s tried several times to absorb other Gathering Lands to expand his power, but was always held back by his limited strength. Now that he¡¯s be a zombie and still possesses his intellect, he¡¯ll undoubtedly set his sights on the Blue Sea Gathering Land,¡± Ming Dong exined, his voice tinged with concern.
?Tan Chong and the rest looked grim upon hearing this. They had no reason to question Ming Dong¡¯s credibility. As a high-ranking member of the Celestial South Gathering Land, it made sense for him to have ess to such information, and they saw no reason for him to deceive them.
¡°Humanity is on the brink of yet another disaster,¡± Cao Rannmented, his mind conjuring images of Jin Cuoshi leading the Zombie Army in a relentless conquest of Gathering Lands, leaving a trail of human carnage in his wake.
¡°I¡¯m in favor of heading to Vajra City,¡± Tan Chong dered, after considering Ming Dong¡¯s reasoning.
Jiang Qiu and the others nodded in agreement.
¡°Very well, if there are no objections, we¡¯ll set course for Vajra City.¡±
?At Ming Dong¡¯smand, Mao Zhe steered the Base Car toward Vajra City. They encountered several zombie attacks along the way, but the groups were small¡ªthergest numbering only about a dozen¡ªso Tan Chong dispatched them swiftly.
Their victories yielded dozens of Energy Stones and three ck fragments. One was a fragment of a No-level Gatlin Machine Gun, while the other two were pieces of an Intelligent Chariot. Tan Chong now had three fragments of the Intelligent Chariot, but he needed ten to make it operational.
After over three hours of travel across the expansive ins, night had fallen. Ming Dong proposed they rest for the night. But just as they turned off the Base Car¡¯s engine, a shadowy figure darted past the front of the vehicle.
¡°Is that a zombie?¡±
Tan Chong spotted the figure and felt a sudden twitch in his eyelids.
Ordinary zombies definitely didn¡¯t move that fast. Could it be a High Level Zombie?
Doubtful, Tan Chong extended his psychic force to take a closer look outside.
As his psychic force reached about five meters beyond the car, his face turned pale.
Surrounding the vehicle were numerous massive wolves cloaked in ck fur, each with a ferocious and terrifying appearance.
Each wolf was agile and measured over two meters in length, their eyes emitting a sinister green glow.
¡°We¡¯ve got Zombie Wolves outside!¡± Tan Chong cried out.
Zombie Wolves were a type of zombie, transformed from Mutated Wolves after being infected with Corpse Poison.
Inparison to regr zombies, Zombie Wolves were several times more powerful, nearly on par with a Level 1 Evolver.
They were incredibly fast, possessed immense strength, and had razor-sharp ws capable of piercing through thick metal.
¡°This is bad, get the car moving!¡± Ming Dong¡¯s face twisted in rm as he yelled to Mao Zhe.
He too had noticed the presence of the Zombie Wolves and estimated there were at least twenty of them.
Against more than twenty Zombie Wolves, each as formidable as a Level 1 Evolver, the Base Car¡¯s defenses would be utterly insufficient.

Chapter 23
C23 ¨C He Was Ready to Fight!
Mao Zhe was terrified, nearly wetting himself as he hastily started the Base Car. mming on the gas, the vehicle surged forward like a bolt of lightning. The sound of impact echoed twice as two Zombie Wolves blocking the path were sent flying by the collision.
?The front of the Base Car, however, was left with a significant dent, a testament to the Zombie Wolves¡¯ far superior strengthpared to regr zombies.
Realizing their prey was attempting to flee, the remaining Zombie Wolves let out ferocious roars and gave chase with a maddening fervor.
¡°We need to break out of here, now!¡± Ming Dong yelled urgently to Mao Zhe.
The Zombie Wolves were nearly as fast as the Base Car. If they didn¡¯t break through the encirclement before the creatures had a chance to react, their fate would be sealed.
¡°Captain, the Base Car is already at top speed,¡± Mao Zhe said through clenched teeth, his hands shaking on the steering wheel from the intense stress.
¡°They¡¯re on us!¡± Cao Rann eximed, looking back at the horde of Zombie Wolves in hot pursuit, his face ashen.
?Jiang Qiu¡¯splexion also drained of color, but she refrained from screaming. Instead, her gaze settled on Tan Chong, finding sce in his presence. In her heart, she believed that with Tan Chong by her side, she could face any hardship or danger.
?In contrast to the others, Tan Chong remainedposed. His psychic force reached out to a ten-meter radius, revealing at least fifty Zombie Wolves on their tail. He knew that brute force alone wouldn¡¯t be enough to fend them off.
?¡±It looks like I¡¯ll have to depend on this to hold off the Zombie Wolves,¡± Tan Chong muttered, eyes narrowing with determination. As he withdrew his psychic force, he opened his storage bag and pulled out the Level 1 Pulse Pistol.
?The Level 1 Pulse Pistol operated simrly to the firearms of his past life, with the exception that it used Energy Stones instead of bullets for ammunition. Furthermore, its magazine functioned like a storage bag, capable of holding an infinite supply of Energy Stones. Each stone was equivalent to one bullet, meaning that with a sufficient supply of Energy Stones, the Pulse Pistol could fire endlessly.
?The Pulse Pistol packed enough punch to take down a Level 1 Zombie, and it was more than capable of handling a Zombie Wolf.
Tan Chong then proceeded to load the Pulse Pistol¡¯s magazine with Energy Stones.
To be on the safe side, he loaded a total of 70 Energy Stones, ensuring he had enough firepower to eliminate 70 Zombie Wolves.
¡°Tan Chong, what¡¯s that you¡¯re holding?¡± Cao Rann noticed the unfamiliar object in Tan Chong¡¯s hand, now being loaded with Energy Stones, and asked with a furrowed brow.
In this world, while advanced transportation like the Base Car existed, firearms and simr weapons did not.
Thus, Cao Rann was clueless about what Tan Chong was holding.
¡°Weapon,¡± Tan Chong responded sinctly, his attention fixed on the Pulse Pistol, offering no further exnation.
At that moment, the Base Car was struck with a violent blow, sending plumes of ck smoke billowing from the front.
Inside, Tan Chong and the other three passengers nearly toppled over from the sheer force of the impact.
¡°Mao Zhe, what¡¯s going on with your driving?¡± Ming Dong, regaining his bnce, bellowed at Mao Zhe.
¡°Captain, it wasn¡¯t intentional,¡± Mao Zhe eximed, on the verge of tears.
Ovee by nerves, he had been driving the Base Car haphazardly and failed to spot arge rock ahead, resulting in the collision.
¡°What are you doing just standing there? Get moving, drive!¡± Ming Dong snapped.
Their dy had allowed the Zombie Wolves to catch up and now they had encircled the Base Car.
¡°It¡¯s no use! The Base Car won¡¯t start,¡± Mao Zhemented, nearly breaking down as he repeatedly tried and failed to start the vehicle.
Meanwhile, the Zombie Wolves began their assault on the Base Car.
With each hit, the vehicle rocked violently, its exterior bing riddled with dents. It seemed likely that it would be breached before long.

Chapter 24
C24 ¨C The Power of the Pulse Pistol
¡°We¡¯re done for today!¡± Cao Rann eximed, his eyes clouded with defeat.
It seemed he foresaw the Base Car¡¯s imminent destruction and their tragic end at the ws of the Zombie Wolf.
¡°Tan Chong.¡± Jiang Qiu approached Tan Chong, her gaze fixed on him.
She was aware that their fate was sealed, but the thought of dying alongside her beloved brought her a strange sense of contentment.
¡°Don¡¯t worry. As long as I¡¯m here, no one will die,¡± Tan Chong reassured her with a smile, then turned to Ming Dong.
Ming Dong let out a sigh, his hand caressing the broad saber. ¡°We need to get ready for battle,¡± he dered with conviction.
Tan Chong gave a slight nod. ¡°Captain Ming, open the car door. I¡¯ll take care of the Zombie Wolf.¡±
He couldn¡¯t afford to wait until the Base Car was destroyed. By then, Jiang Qiu would have nowhere to hide, and even with the Pulse Pistol in hand, he might not be able to ensure her safety.
But if they opened the door, the Zombie Wolf would surely charge in, and the Base Car could be spared.
¡°You can¡¯t open the door!¡± Mao Zhe cried out in terror. ¡°Tan Chong, what are you doing? Are you trying to get us killed?¡±
¡°Be quiet. If you spout one more word of nonsense, I¡¯ll throw you out myself,¡± Tan Chong warned, giving Mao Zhe a chilling re.
Under Tan Chong¡¯s intense stare, Mao Zhe shivered, feeling a deep cold envelop him.
¡°Tan Chong, are you really going to open the door?¡± Ming Dong probed.
¡°Trust me,¡± Tan Chong urged, nodding emphatically.
With resolve, Ming Dong no longer hesitated and swung the door open.
As soon as the door opened, an eager Zombie Wolf lunged at the opening.
Ming Dong, clutching his broadsword, was ready to strike when suddenly a gunshot echoed inside the car.
Tan Chong, with the Pulse Pistol in hand, squeezed the trigger. A burst of me erupted as the shot rang out.
The Zombie Wolf, barely having stuck its head through, had its head blown to pieces, copsing into a headless heap outside the car.
¡°You¡¯re incredible!¡±
Ming Dong was utterly astonished; he had never before encountered such a fearsome weapon. A single loud explosion had taken down a Zombie Wolf, a creature on par with a Level 1 Evolver.
¡°Captain Ming, please step aside.¡±
Tan Chong could eliminate a Zombie Wolf with a single shot, which brought him a sense of relief. He confidently made his way toward the Base Car door.
Without a second thought, Ming Dong moved aside. With Tan Chong wielding such a formidable weapon, dispatching zombies was a breeze. There was no need for Ming Dong to intervene.
The remaining Zombie Wolves outside became enraged upon seeing their fallenrades. They recklessly mmed into the car door.
This time, two Zombie Wolves charged at once.
?Tan Chong fired twice. One bullet struck a Zombie Wolf in the neck, decapitating it. The other bullet tore a bowl-sized hole in the chest of the second Zombie Wolf, killing it instantly.
In an instant, three Zombie Wolvesy dead.
Yet, the Zombie Wolves showed no fear. The more of them that died, the more furious the rest became.
All the Zombie Wolves snarled and relentlessly attacked the car door.
Gunshots pierced the stillness of the night, each one iming the life of another Zombie Wolf.
Tan Chong lost count of how many rounds he had fired, but soon the ground outside the car was strewn with a mound of Zombie Wolf corpses. Meanwhile, seven or eight beams of light in various hues shone brilliantly.
?¡±He¡¯s incredibly powerful!¡± Ming Dong eximed, his voice filled with awe.
Tan Chong was already formidable, but this terrifying weapon elevated his prowess beyond that of a Level 2 Evolver.
¡°Tan Chong, you¡¯re amazing!¡± Cao Rann couldn¡¯t contain his excitement, practically dancing with joy. He greatly admired Tan Chong.
He had feared the worst for them today, but Tan Chong¡¯s introduction of an unusual weapon had dramatically turned the tables. Now, the Zombie Wolves were the ones being hunted.

Chapter 25
C25 ¨C Kill Them All!
Jiang Qiu lightly nibbled her lower lip, her eyes fixed on Tan Chong with palpable excitement.
Mao Zhe, lurking in a corner, had a face that shifted between shades of discontent. Despite the crisis being averted, he couldn¡¯t muster any joy. The reason was straightforward: Tan Chong¡¯s excellence was so profound itmanded respect, deepening Mao Zhe¡¯s envy.
In his mind, Mao Zhe was screaming, ¡°Why is Tan Chong so powerful? Why does he have a beautiful woman by his side? Why am I worth nothing? It¡¯s just not fair!¡±
Meanwhile, Tan Chong unleashed his psychic force in a sweeping motion, detecting seven Zombie Wolves outside. The wolves, unable to attack through the blocked door, had begun gnawing at the Base Car from other angles.
?Tan Chong wouldn¡¯t stand for the Zombie Wolves wreaking havoc on the Base Car. He booted the one blocking the door and charged out. Ming Dong, gripping hisrge saber, was quick to back him up.
?Tan Chong took down five Zombie Wolves with a series of shots before holstering his Pulse Pistol. Not wanting to further deplete his Energy Stones, he decided to conserve resources.
?With just two Zombie Wolves remaining, Tan Chong and Ming Dong each took one down with ease.
Once the threat was neutralized, Cao Rann leaped out of the car, eager to announce, ¡°I¡¯ll help extract the Energy Stones.¡± Having done this before, he was adept at the task and, not to mention, stood to gain a share of the stones.
Jiang Qiu exhaled in relief and stepped out to lend a hand.
Mao Zhe wavered briefly before finally deciding to join the others.
Tan Chong surveyed the surroundings for any signs of danger before beginning to collect fragments.
¡°Collected one Doomsday Merchant Shop fragment (3/10). The fragment is iplete and cannot be used.¡±
¡°Collected one Bread Tree Seed fragment (1/1). The fragment isplete and ready for use.¡±
¡°Collected one Enchantment Divine de fragment (1/3). The fragment is iplete and cannot be used.¡±
¡°Acquired aplete Extreme Speed Battle Boots fragment (1/1). The fragment isplete, and the item is ready for use.¡±
¡°Acquired an Intelligent Chariot fragment (7/10). The fragment set is iplete, and the item cannot be used.¡±
Tan Chong heard eight peculiar sounds in his mind and consequently received eight items.
However, the only items Tan Chong could immediately use were the Bread Tree Seed and the Extreme Speed Battle Boots.
The Bread Tree Seed resembled the Hard Fruit Seed in shape. Once nted, it would swiftly grow into a two-meter-tall nt.
Additionally, it would yield ten fruits, each asrge as a watermelon.
Remarkably, the Bread Tree Seed¡¯s growth cycle was a mere 24 hours.
Meaning, just one day after harvesting the fruit, the tree would be ready to bear fruit again.
In the post-apocalyptic world, survival hinges not only on evading zombies but also on securing food.
With the Bread Tree Seed, Tan Chong would never have to fret over food again.
The Extreme Speed Battle Boots, a pair of purple shoes, were designed to enhance speed, potentially doubling it. These boots were an excellent tool for survival.
The remaining three items were iplete fragments.
One was a fragment of the Doomsday Merchant Shop, and Tan Chong also received a fragment of the Enchantment Divine de.
The other four fragments belonged to the Intelligent Chariot. Coupled with the three fragments Tan Chong had previously acquired, he now had a total of seven fragments.
After collecting the fragments, Tan Chong began to excavate Energy Stones.
Within ten minutes, he had unearthed fifty-seven Energy Stones.
Since Tan Chong had in nearly all the Zombie Wolves, he imed forty Energy Stones for himself. Ming Dong took eight, while Jiang Qiu, Cao Rann, and Mao Zhe each received three.
Back at the Base Car, Tan Chong loaded all forty of his Energy Stones into the Level 1 Pulse Pistol.
¡°Tan Chong, where did you get that thing?¡± Ming Dong inquired tentatively.
Having seen the Pulse Pistol¡¯s formidable power firsthand, Ming Dong knew that possessing one would not only ensure his survival in the apocalypse but also empower him to dominate his foes.

Chapter 26
C26 ¨C Danger
¡°I found it,¡± Tan Chong said, his smile carrying a deeper meaning.
He wasn¡¯t lying this time; he had indeed acquired the Pulse Pistol by collecting fragments.
Whether Ming Dong believed him or not was of no concern to him.
Ming Dong was taken aback.
He coveted the Pulse Pistol as well.
He yearned to grow stronger!
Meanwhile, Cao Rann and Mao Zhe were diligently repairing the Base Car.
The cars from Tan Chong¡¯s past life were incrediblyplex.
The Base Car, however, was a different story. It ran on Energy Stones, which made its design much simpler and easier to fix.
¡°Tan Chong, take all my Energy Stones,¡± Jiang Qiu offered, presenting her Energy Stones to him.
Despite their value, she found them of little use to herself.
Tan Chong nodded in eptance, not turning her down.
They might not be married, but in their hearts, they had long considered each other partners.
Besides, if Tan Chong had refused, it might have led Jiang Qiu to worry unnecessarily.
Seeing that he epted, Jiang Qiu¡¯s face lit up with a radiant smile.
¡°Mao Zhe, how much longer to fix the Base Car?¡± Ming Dong inquired, a sense of urgency in his voice.
The noise they made while dispatching the Zombie Wolf had been significant. If more zombies were drawn to them and the Base Car wasn¡¯t operational, they would be in grave danger.
¡°About five minutes,¡± Mao Zhe responded.
¡°Good, but let¡¯s keep the pace up,¡± Ming Dong said, his tension easing slightly.
At that moment, Tan Chong faintly detected the sound of footsteps.
With each passing second, the sound grew louder.
¡°Zombies are approaching!¡± Tan Chong furrowed his brow and peered outside the car.
The starlight outside was faint.
Using the dim light, Tan Chong quickly spotted a multitude of zombies.
He saw thousands of zombies!
¡°Zombie Tide!¡± Ming Dong also noticed the zombies, his face turning pale with fear.
A Zombie Tide was a massive swarm of zombies, with the minimum number being 10,000.
And a gathering of 10,000 zombies was merely considered a Small-scale Zombie Tide.
Some Zombie Tides could swell to several hundred thousand, even reaching into the millions.
A Zombie Tide with millions of zombies was termed a Super Zombie Tide.
Even arge settlement like Vajra City could be ttened in an instant by a Super Zombie Tide.
¡°What do we do?¡± Ming Dong asked, his voice trembling.
Despite having faced countless hardships, he was still incredibly nervous in the face of a Zombie Tide.
Cao Rann and Mao Zhe stopped worrying about repairing the Base Car, their faces darkening with dread.
¡°We¡¯re as good as dead,¡± Mao Zhe wailed.
¡°Shut up!¡±
Tan Chong stepped forward and silenced him with a swift kick, knocking him out cold.
Zombies have exceptionally sharp hearing, and Mao Zhe¡¯s loud crying could easily draw their attention.

Chapter 27
C27 ¨C To Lure away the Zombies
¡°Tan Chong, it¡¯s futile. Even if we¡¯re silent, the zombies will still crush the Base Car. We¡¯re not getting out of this alive,¡± Ming Dong whispered.
Tan Chong was well aware of this, his mind racing with thoughts.
¡°The zombies are almost here¡¡±
Cao Rann¡¯s voice shook as he warned that the zombies were less than ten meters from the Base Car.
With such an enormous Zombie Group bearing down on them, abandoning the car and running was no longer an option.
The true horror of the Zombie Tidey not only in its sheer numbers but also in the presence of High Level Zombies.
A High Level Zombie was as formidable as an Evolver. Tan Chong could certainly escape, but the others stood no chance.
¡°I¡¯ll go out and draw the zombies away. You all stay hidden in the car and keep quiet,¡± Tan Chong instructed in a hushed tone.
His n was risky, but he was full of confidence.
With the Extreme Speed Battle Boots, he could outrun the zombies with ease.
And with his Pulse Pistol, he could keep taking them down, no matter how many there were.
¡°No!¡± Jiang Qiu¡¯s face went pale, and she immediately protested.
She couldn¡¯t bear the thought of Tan Chong risking his life against the overwhelming horde.
¡°Don¡¯t worry. The zombies won¡¯t get me,¡± Tan Chong reassured her with a smile, then added, ¡°Once I¡¯ve drawn them off, head straight for Vajra City. I¡¯ll shake the zombies and meet you there.¡±
Without waiting for a response, Tan Chong dashed out of the Base Car.
The zombies, now less than five meters away, were instantly drawn to his sudden emergence.
To the zombies, humans were not just prey but also sustenance.
The sight of potential food set off a frenzied chorus of roars that thundered across the open ins.
?Ming Dong and the rest shivered in terror, too frightened to even draw breath.
Tan Chong, undaunted, raised his hand andunched a fireball into the fray.
Amidst the violent explosion, the zombie nearest to Tan Chong was sted in half.
Tan Chong¡¯s actions had thoroughly enraged the zombies, and they charged at him in a frenzied assault.
One zombie, in particr, disyed exceptional agility and speed, surpassing the others. It was rapidly closing in on Tan Chong.
¡°Think you¡¯re tough, Level 1 Zombie?¡± Tan Chong sneered and raised his pulse pistol, firing a shot.
The Level 1 Zombie¡¯s head was blown to smithereens. It stumbled forward a couple of steps before copsing powerlessly at Tan Chong¡¯s feet.
Then, a red beam of light emanated from the corpse.
¡°A fragment!¡± Tan Chong¡¯s eyes lit up as he snatched it.
¡°Pick up the fragment of the healing potion, and you can use it.¡±
¡°Use.¡±
A ss bottle materialized in Tan Chong¡¯s hand, filled with a green liquid, and knowledge about the healing potion flooded his mind.
The healing potion was meant for treating wounds.
Tan Chong slipped the healing potion into his storage bag. After dispatching several zombies, he began to retreat at a measured pace.
To draw all the zombies away, Tan Chong didn¡¯t sprint at full speed. Instead, he would periodically stop to eliminate a group of zombies after creating some distance.
In this manner, Tan Chong managed to attract all the zombies.
Meanwhile, on the ins, a bizarre spectacle unfolded as numerous zombies pursued Tan Chong with all their might, yet they couldn¡¯t manage to catch him.
Whenever a group of zombies managed to close the gap slightly, they were ruthlessly gunned down.

Chapter 28
C28 ¨C Escape
After a considerable amount of time had passed and the area around the Base Car had once again fallen into silence, Jiang Qiu turned to Ming Dong with a look of concern. ¡°Captain Ming, Tan Chong will be okay, right?¡±
He had been up against tens of thousands of zombies on his own. Without the speed of a Level 3 Evolver, his chances of escape would be slim.
Ming Dong had initially believed that Tan Chong¡¯s situation was hopeless, but to his surprise, he discovered that Tan Chong¡¯s speed was incredibly fast, nearly matching that of a Level 3 Evolver.
Forget the ordinary zombies; even Level 1 and Level 2 Zombies couldn¡¯t keep up with him.
Tan Chong was formidable and equipped with a powerful weapon, giving him a strong likelihood of making it out alive.
¡°Don¡¯t worry. Given Tan Chong¡¯s abilities and speed, the zombies definitely won¡¯t be able to catch him,¡± Ming Dong assured her with gravity.
His tone was decisive, prompting a relieved exhale from Jiang Qiu.
¡°Cao Rann, get on with fixing the car. We need to get out of here as quickly as possible,¡± Ming Dongmanded.
Mao Zhe had been knocked out cold by Tan Chong¡¯s kick and showed no signs ofing to. Thus, the responsibility of repairing the car now rested on Cao Rann.
¡°Captain Ming, shouldn¡¯t we wait for Tan Chong?¡± Jiang Qiu¡¯s brow creased with worry.
Cao Rann paused, taken aback.
In their view, Tan Chong had risked his life to save them.
If they were to leave now that the zombies had dispersed, abandoning Tan Chong, it would be excessively cruel.
¡°Tan Chong told us to meet him in Vajra City. We¡¯ll follow his instructions,¡± Ming Dong rified.
At this point, his respect and trust in Tan Chong were boundless.
When Tan Chong had set out to kill eighty zombies, Ming Dong had doubted him, thinking he was out of his mind. Yet, Tan Chong had aplished the feat with ease.
Later, when Tan Chong faced the Zombie Wolf, Ming Dong was again skeptical. But Tan Chong had simply drawn his weapon and dispatched the creature as effortlessly as one would squash an ant.
Furthermore, Tan Chong had promised to draw the zombies away before he left, and he had delivered on that promise.
Through these actions, Ming Dong was convinced that Tan Chong¡¯s decisions were never made lightly; he always had absolute certainty in his actions.
Indeed, Ming Dong could vividly recall every single word Tan Chong had ever spoken.
Since Tan Chong had instructed them to head to Vajra City, there was no reason for hesitation. They simply followed his orders.
As dawn was breaking, Tan Chong had already led the Zombie Army across hundreds of miles to the fringe of a mountain range. Throughout this time, he unleashed a variety of magic skills, and with the assistance of his Pulse Pistol, he managed to eliminate at least a few hundred zombies. In the process, he was able to collect ten fragments.
There were certainly more than ten fragments that appeared, but Tan Chong was overwhelmed by the sheer number of zombies and couldn¡¯t gather them all.
?After several hours of intensebat, Tan Chong was utterly fatigued. The Energy Stone in his Pulse Pistol was depleted, and his Magic Power was drained. He had no desire to continue the skirmish with the zombies.
Using the Extreme Speed Battle Boots, Tan Chong swiftly evaded the pursuing zombies and made his way into the expansive mountain range.
As Tan Chong vanished from their view, the zombies were filled with rage, yet they could only emit a few roars to express their frustration.
Meanwhile, Tan Chong reached the summit of a small hill and gazed back at the Zombie Tide. Without his presence, the tens of thousands of zombies began to slowly scatter.
Witnessing this, Tan Chong couldn¡¯t help but feel an immense sense of pride. He had single-handedly confronted tens of thousands of zombies, not only emerging unscathed but also annihting hundreds of them.
This extraordinary achievement was unparalleled, and it was uncertain if anyone could ever surpass it.

Chapter 29
C29 ¨C Deste Swamp Mountain Range
After some time, Tan Chong reached the base of the mountain. He settled into a spot and quietly mused, ¡°Jiang Qiu and the others must have left by now, right?¡±
He had lured the Zombie Group away, aiding Jiang Qiu and the rest in their escape and buying them precious time.
He was confident that Ming Dong and the others were en route to Vajra City by now.
With that thought, Tan Chong breathed a sigh of relief.
He quickly grabbed a bite to eat and was about to catch some sleep when he noticed a young man, around fourteen or fifteen, approaching him.
¡°Big brother, this ce is very dangerous. You shouldn¡¯t sleep here,¡± the youth warned, noticing Tan Chong¡¯s drowsy state.
¡°Danger?¡± Tan Chong said, surprised. He gave the young man an interested nce and chuckled, ¡°If it¡¯s dangerous, why did youe here by yourself?¡±
He had already scoped out the area and hadn¡¯t detected any threats. He was curious about the young man¡¯s caution.
The young man exined, ¡°Zombies often wander around here. If you fall asleep, it could be risky. I frequently traverse this area and always prepare in advance if any zombies show up.¡±
Realization dawned on Tan Chong, and he inquired, ¡°What ce is this? Is there somewhere safe nearby?¡±
After a night¡¯s ordeal, all he wanted was a good ce to sleep.
¡°This is the Deste Swamp Mountain Range. You cane back with me if you want, but my ce is small, so you¡¯ll need to move on after a short rest,¡± the young man offered.
¡°Deste Swamp Mountain Range,¡± Tan Chong repeated, pondering.
He recalled hearing about the numerous Mutated Beasts deep within the range and the small human settlements on the periphery, forming a modest Gathering Land.
¡°Thank you,¡± Tan Chong expressed his gratitude, managing a weary smile. ¡°I¡¯m Tan Chong. What¡¯s your name?¡±
Worn out and without a decent ce to rest, he decided to follow the young man.
¡°Mr. Tan, hello. I¡¯m Qiu Hanh,¡± Qiu Hanh replied with a smile.
Tan Chong was slightly lost in thought. Since his arrival in this new world, he hadn¡¯t encountered such an innocent smile. For a brief moment, he felt transported back to his former life, a sense of warmth flooding his heart.
?¡±Mr. Tan, what¡¯s on your mind?¡± Qiu Hanh inquired, noticing Tan Chong¡¯s distant gaze.
¡°It¡¯s nothing,¡± Tan Chong replied, ing back to the present with a light cough. ¡°Let¡¯s get moving.¡±
Guided by Qiu Hanh, they chatted as they walked. Half an hourter, they arrived at a valley encircled by mountains.
Tan Chong surveyed the surroundings with a critical eye and gave a slight nod of approval. ¡°Nice setting,¡± hemented.
The valley wasn¡¯trge, just a few hundred square meters, but it was filled with an abundance of crops.
Around the base of the mountains, more than thirty stone caves were arranged, each entrance barred by wooden fences. Initially, Tan Chong was puzzled about the purpose of these caves until Qiu Hanh¡¯s exnation made it clear: each cave was a human residence, home to a single family.
¡°Mr. Tan, this is my ce. Let me show you around,¡± Qiu Hanh said, gesturing toward one of the caves.
?Inside the cave, Tan Chong took in the sparse interior and shook his head. The space was about ten square meters, furnished with just two rudimentary wooden beds and a handful of cooking utensils. It was even more spartan than the dpidated house Tan Chong had in the Celestial South Gathering Land.
?¡±My sister is out at the moment, Mr. Tan. You might want to rest while you can. She might not be keen on having you stay once she¡¯s back,¡± Qiu Hanh advised.
Tan Chong nodded, settled onto one of the beds, and closed his eyes. Though heavy with sleep, he dared not let himself drift off. Theplexities of human nature in this world were not lost on him; despite Qiu Hanh seeming trustworthy, Tan Chong remained vignt.
He rested for a couple of hours until a statuesque woman with striking features and long, dark hair entered the cave.
She appeared to be under 20 years old.

Chapter 30
C30 ¨C Protective Fee
¡°Sis, you¡¯re back,¡± Qiu Hanh called out as she entered.
The woman nodded, her attention quickly drawn to a stranger lying on the bed. With a furrowed brow, she pointed at Tan Chong and demanded, ¡°Who is this?¡±
¡°He¡¯s Tan Chong, a friend I met on the road,¡± Qiu Hanh exined. ¡°He seemed exhausted, so I let him rest here for a bit.¡±
Stirred by the voices, Tan Chong sat up.
Blinking away his grogginess, he caught sight of the woman and blurted out in disbelief, ¡°Dilraba?¡±
She bore an uncanny resemnce to a celebrity named Dilraba from his past life, leading him to wonder if she, too, had traveled through time.
The woman gave Tan Chong a once-over, her beautiful face clouding with irritation. ¡°What are you rambling about? My name is Qiu Jing, not Dilraba.¡±
Tan Chong¡¯s handsome features had initially made a good impression.
Yet, the look in his eyes carried an odd significance, leaving her feeling uneasy.
¡°My apologies, I mistook you for someone else,¡± Tan Chong said, rubbing his nose with an embarrassed grin.
Qiu Jing, Qiu Hanh¡¯s sister, had grown up in the Deste Swamp Mountain Range. Qiu Hanh had filled him in on this during their journey back. So, while Qiu Jing resembled Dilraba, she was certainly not the same person.
?¡±Now that you¡¯re awake, please leave,¡± Qiu Jing instructed Tan Chong.
In these apocalyptic times, trust was a luxury. She was unfamiliar with Tan Chong¡¯s past.
What if he posed a threat? That could spell disaster for her and her brother.
Qiu Hanh¡¯s discontent was palpable as he grumbled, ¡°Sis, Mr. Tan has juste to and hasn¡¯t even eaten. Isn¡¯t it heartless to send him away so soon?¡±
He hadn¡¯t known Tan Chong long, but he didn¡¯t believe him to be malicious. He couldn¡¯t fathom his sister¡¯s rush to expel their guest.
¡°I actually have some urgent matters to attend to,¡± Tan Chong interjected with a sheepish smile, seizing the opportunity to excuse himself.
In a world where caution was the norm, he couldn¡¯t fault Qiu Jing for her wariness.
Before he departed, he feltpelled to leave something behind for them.
He had rested here for several hours, after all, and these items could serve as payment for his stay.
The storage bag was filled with an abundance of food and a few Energy Stones. As Tan Chong was retrieving items from the bag, the wooden fence at the cave entrance was suddenly kicked open.
Two haughty men strode into the cave.
The leader was a man in his twenties, marred by an ugly face riddled with bumps, rivaling Chen Dong in unattractiveness.
Upon noticing Tan Chong seated on the wooden bed, the ugly man¡¯s demeanor shifted. He pointed at Tan Chong¡¯s nose and barked, ¡°Who are you? And why are you here?¡±
¡°What does it have to do with you?¡±
Tan Chong, observing the man¡¯s aggressive demeanor and nasty attitude, frowned and let out a cold huff.
¡°How dare you speak to him like that? Do you have a death wish?¡± The ugly man¡¯spanion, a young man with a buzz cut, red and spat out a curse, ready to charge at Tan Chong.
¡°Liu Wei, he¡¯s our friend. What are you trying to do?¡± Qiu Jing positioned herself in front of Tan Chong, intent on protecting him.
She might not have known Tan Chong well, but she refused to let him be mistreated.
Liu Wei gestured to the buzz-cut youth to hold back, scoffing, ¡°I¡¯m not here to cause trouble. I¡¯vee to collect the protection fee.¡±
Qiu Jing extended an Energy Stone towards Liu Wei, ¡°Take this Energy Stone and leave my home immediately.¡±
Feigning interest in the Energy Stone, Liu Wei instead seized Qiu Jing¡¯s hand.

Chapter 31
C31 ¨C Stupid Dream
¡°What are you doing?¡±
Qiu Jing¡¯s face drained of color. As she jerked her hand away, she stumbled several steps backward.
Liu Wei narrowed his eyes and brought her hand to his nose for a sniff. With a look of rapture, he sighed, ¡°Your hand smells so good!¡±
¡°Shameless!¡±
Qiu Jing bit her lip, her cheeks flushed with a mix of embarrassment and anger.
¡°Liu Wei, we¡¯ve already paid the protection fee. Why haven¡¯t you left?¡± Qiu Hanh¡¯s hands were clenched tightly, his handsome face reddened with evident fury at Liu Wei¡¯s behavior.
Liu Wei let out a sly chuckle, ¡°The protection fee has gone up.¡±
¡°What?¡±
Both Qiu Jing and Qiu Hanh¡¯s expressions darkened.
For ordinary people like them, zombies posed a great danger. Managing to kill two or three a month was already an achievement.
After trading for necessities and paying an Energy Stone as a protection fee, they were stretched to their limit.
Liu Wei was obviously making life difficult for them.
Tan Chong¡¯s eyes narrowed upon hearing this.
Residents of the Celestial South Gathering Land also had to pay protection fees, but they were nowhere near this steep.
Demanding one Energy Stone per month was simply extortion.
¡°Liu Wei, you¡¯re going too far. The Deste Swamp Mountain Range isn¡¯t yours to control. Why are you demanding so many Energy Stones from us?¡± Qiu Hanh shouted, his voice thick with anger.
Liu Wei¡¯s expression was icy as he scoffed, ¡°I call the shots in the Deste Swamp Mountain Range. If you don¡¯t pay up, forget about living here!¡±
Qiu Jing clenched her teeth, ¡°We don¡¯t have any Energy Stones left. We¡¯ll get them to you next month.¡±
Reluctantly, she saw no other option but to yield to a thug like Liu Wei.
Liu Wei licked his lips, his eyes gleaming with a predatory glow as he spoke softly, ¡°Qiu Jing, if you agree to be my woman, you won¡¯t have to worry about the protection fee, and you¡¯ll get to enjoy life¡¡±
He was cut off mid-sentence by Qiu Jing¡¯s fierce retort, ¡°Shut your mouth! I¡¯d rather die than be with you!¡±
Liu Wei was notoriouslyscivious in the Deste Swamp Mountain Range.
¡°Mr. Wei, since she doesn¡¯t appreciate what¡¯s good for her, you could just force yourself on her,¡± someone suggested with a malicious tone.
Liu Wei remained silent, but his eyes began to shift deviously.
¡°If you dare, my father will never forgive you. He¡¯s a Level 1 Evolver!¡± Qiu Hanh, sensing Liu Wei¡¯s sinister thoughts, quickly interjected.
Liu Wei¡¯s face darkened at the mention.
Qiu Chudao was indeed a Level 1 Evolver, but he had vanished without a trace after venturing into Wolf Valley six months prior.
Liu Wei had been lusting after Qiu Jing for some time, but he had refrained from acting because he feared Qiu Chudao. He couldn¡¯t be certain whether Qiu Chudao had perished in Wolf Valley.
However, he then remembered his own father was also a Level 1 Evolver, manding numerous followers. Even if Qiu Chudao were alive, there was nothing for him to fear.
¡°Don¡¯t try to intimidate me with Qiu Chudao. If you can¡¯te up with the protection money today, then your sister will have no choice but to be my woman,¡± Liu Wei threatened, his face contorted with menace.
¡°You¡¯re not fit to be with Qiu Jing,¡± Tan Chong said with a lightugh, rising to his feet.
Qiu Jing paused, taken aback. Once she gathered her thoughts, she shot Tan Chong a warning nce. ¡°Tan Chong, this matter doesn¡¯t concern you.¡±
She was moved that Tan Chong was willing to defend her in such a moment, yet her concern outweighed her gratitude.
Given Liu Wei¡¯s merciless nature, Tan Chong was likely risking his life by speaking out.
¡°What did you just say?¡± Liu Wei¡¯s lips quivered, his eyes brimming with a thirst for blood.
In the Deste Swamp Mountain Range, he was the undisputed ruler.
This stranger had the audacity to insult him to his face ¨C it was a death wish!
¡°Did you go deaf?¡± Tan Chong retorted sharply, then added with a smirk, ¡°Considering your looks, I was actually being quite generous with my words.¡±

Chapter 32
C32 ¨C Purpose
Liu Wei¡¯s chest rose and fell with fury, his face twisting in rage. He bared his teeth and bellowed, ¡°Kill him!¡±
A malicious sneer spread across the face of the crew-cut youth as he charged at Tan Chong, swinging a vicious punch.
Qiu Jing let out a terrified shriek, unable to watch Tan Chong possibly get struck down. She shut her eyes tightly.
A glint of icy determination shed in Tan Chong¡¯s eyes, and he deftly delivered a kick.
Apanied by a pitiful scream, the crew-cut youth was sent flying out of the cave, leaving a trail of blood in midair.
As a Level 1 Evolver, Tan Chong¡¯s speed and strengthpletely overpowered him.
The crew-cut youth had foolishly attacked without knowing Tan Chong¡¯s capabilities, bringing shame upon himself.
¡°Mr. Tan is actually this formidable?¡± Qiu Hanh¡¯s eyes bulged with incredulity.
To think that Liu Wei¡¯s top enforcer was so easily sent soaring through the air by a mere kick from Tan Chong.
Even with his own eyes as witnesses, Qiu Hanh questioned whether he had been mistaken.
¡°What just happened?¡±
Upon hearing Qiu Hanh¡¯s bewildered mutter, Qiu Jing opened her eyes. The sight of the crew-cut youth sprawled on the ground like a lifeless dog, with Tan Chong standing unscathed, left her utterly stunned.
¡°Tan Chong, you dare to strike my man?¡±
Liu Wei shook with anger, his eyes darting to the crew-cut youth lying on the ground, his lips quivering with fury.
Tan Chong had not only verbally insulted him but had also physically disciplined his underling. This was something Liu Wei could not tolerate.
In that moment, he silently vowed to eliminate Tan Chong that very day to quell the burning resentment within him.
Tan Chong approached with a grin and, without any forewarning, delivered a resounding p.
The sharp crack of the p echoed through the cave.
Liu Wei spun in ce from the force, his cheek swelling up immediately.
His already grotesque face now resembled that of a swollen pig¡¯s head.
Witnessing this, Qiu Jing and Qiu Hanh¡¯s jaws dropped, their minds thrown into disarray.
It was one thing for Tan Chong to discipline the crew-cut youth, but to strike Liu Wei himself? Tan Chong was now in deep trouble.
¡°You actually dared to hit me? I¡¯m Liu Wei, and my dad is Liu Shirong. How could you dare to hit me?¡± Liu Wei clutched his face, his words tumbling out in a jumble.
¡°Scram! Say another word, and I¡¯ll end you!¡± Tan Chong¡¯s eyes shed with a deadly re.
Intimidated by Tan Chong¡¯s imposing presence, Liu Wei shuddered in fear. He obediently mped his mouth shut and scurried off without a backward nce.
¡°I won¡¯t let this go. Just you wait,¡± Liu Wei spat out the threat as he ran into the distance.
Tan Chong couldn¡¯t be bothered with him and settled back onto the wooden bed. He had no intention of leaving after this confrontation.
?Qiu Jing cast a nce at the unperturbed Tan Chong and sighed, ¡°You¡¯ve hit Liu Wei, and his father will surely seek revenge. You¡¯d better make a run for it.¡±
Liu Shirong was a Level 1 Evolver and the top powerhouse in the Deste Swamp Mountain Range. Even her father, Chen Lingtian, couldn¡¯t stand against him.
Although Tan Chong was strong, Qiu Jing believed he was no Evolver, certainly not a match for Liu Shirong. Staying would mean certain death.
¡°Mr. Tan, my sister is right. You should really get out of here,¡± Qiu Hanh chimed in.
¡°And if I go, what happens to you?¡± Tan Chong asked, rubbing his nose.
He had no ns to leave. In fact, letting Liu Wei escape was a ploy to draw out those behind him.
By ensnaring them all, he could finally rest easy.
¡°They wouldn¡¯t dare harm us. But if you don¡¯t leave soon, you¡¯re a dead man,¡± Qiu Jing said, her voice tinged with urgency.
Tan Chong had stood up for them and offended Liu Wei. She couldn¡¯t just stand by and watch Tan Chong walk into a death trap.
¡°Liu Shirong is a Level 1 Evolver?¡± Tan Chong remained unfazed, his expression steady.

Chapter 33
C33 ¨C Intuition
¡°He¡¯s a Level 1 Evolver. You need to get out of here fast!¡±
Qiu Jing couldn¡¯t understand why Tan Chong was so unafraid, and she was deeply worried.
Tan Chong nodded, casually pulling out a Pulse Pistol from his storage bag and began to load it with an Energy Stone.
Having killed Level 1 Evolvers and numerous Level 1 Zombies before, he wasn¡¯t concerned about Liu Shirong in the slightest.
But feeling a bit weary now, he decided to rely on the Pulse Pistol.
¡°Mr. Tan, what¡¯s that thing you¡¯re holding?¡± Qiu Hanh inquired, his curiosity piqued by the unusual object in Tan Chong¡¯s hand.
¡°It¡¯s a very powerful weapon that can take down a Level 1 Evolver,¡± Tan Chong replied with a smile.
¡°Really? It¡¯s that strong?¡± Qiu Hanh¡¯s eyes sparkled with excitement.
Qiu Jing nced at the Pulse Pistol skeptically.
¡°Don¡¯t get ahead of yourself. You probably haven¡¯t seen how formidable a Level 1 Evolver can be. You¡¯re going to regret itter,¡± she cautioned.
Tan Chong just rubbed his nose, offering no further exnation.
¡°Who hit my son?¡± An angry bellow echoed from outside the cave at that moment.
¡°Liu Shirong is here!¡± Qiu Jing¡¯splexion turned ashen.
With Liu Shirong arriving in person, Tan Chong had no chance to flee.
And if Liu Shirong caught him, the oue was all too predictable.
¡°Stay here and don¡¯te out,¡± Tan Chong instructed before heading towards the cave entrance.
Stepping outside, Tan Chong was met with over a dozen menacing men brandishing weapons, Liu Wei among them.
?Their disturbance had drawn considerable attention, with many onlookers from other caves peering out and some gathering to murmur amongst themselves.
¡°Why has Liu Shironge?¡±
¡°I heard someone beat up Liu Wei. Liu Shirong must be out for revenge.¡±
Liu Wei glowered at Tan Chong and then addressed the muscr, bald man beside him, ¡°Dad, he¡¯s the one who hit me.¡±
The bald man, appearing to be in his fifties and standing roughly 1.9 meters tall, was muscr and had a particrly fierce demeanor. He gave Tan Chong a contemptuous look andmanded sternly, ¡°Kneel!¡±
¡°You¡¯re Liu Shirong, aren¡¯t you?¡± Tan Chong retorted, before adding dismissively, ¡°And just who do you think you are?¡±
His words stirred up a flurry of excitement among the onlookers.
¡°Look at his nerve! He¡¯s got the gall to insult Liu Shirong!¡±
¡°He¡¯s going to have a grim end, that¡¯s for sure!¡±
The consensus was that Tan Chong was a dead man walking. Given Liu Shirong¡¯s temperament, it was a given that Tan Chong would suffer greatly before his demise.
¡°Dad, just kill him already!¡± Liu Wei bellowed with a savage snarl.
Tan Chong¡¯s audacity in the presence of his father was more than Liu Wei could bear.
Liu Shirong¡¯s men red with menacing intent, ready to leap at Tan Chong and rip him apart at a word from their leader.
¡°Hold on a second,¡± Liu Shirong gestured to his men, signaling them to hold off. He turned his attention back to Tan Chong.
Tan Chong remainedposed throughout, which puzzled Liu Shirong. ¡°Could he be concealing his true power?¡±
Based on the report from Liu Wei, Liu Shirong had assessed that Tan Chong was not weak, but he hadn¡¯t reached the status of an Evolver.
Yet, Tan Chong¡¯s youthfulposure added to Liu Shirong¡¯s bewilderment.
Liu Shirong¡¯s long reign over the Deste Swamp Mountain Range was not just due to his formidable strength; he was also adept at reading people.
His instincts warned him: there was more to Tan Chong than met the eye.

Chapter 34
C34 ¨C Tan Chong Caught All of Them
¡°Kid, where did you hail from?¡±
For safety¡¯s sake, Liu Shirong decided to first figure out Tan Chong¡¯s background.
¡°There¡¯s no need for you to know.¡±
A sinister smile crept onto Tan Chong¡¯s face as he pointed the Pulse Pistol at Liu Shirong and fired.
The gunshot reverberated throughout the valley.
¡°This is bad!¡±
Liu Shirong¡¯s instincts warned him of impending danger, and he threw up his hand in defense.
A burst of fire shot through his palm and then mmed into his chest, creating a massive bloody cavity.
Liu Shirong felt his strength ebbing away. He swallowed hard a few times before copsing to the ground, lifeless.
Even in death, his eyes were wide open, brimming with defiance and regret.
As Liu Shirong hit the ground, an eerie silence enveloped the valley.
¡°Liu Shirong is dead.¡±
Those who had seen Liu Shirong¡¯s demise firsthand were still in disbelief.
Could a Level 1 Evolver, the Extreme Expert of the Deste Swamp Mountain Range, be so easily dispatched?
Wasn¡¯t that a bit too far-fetched?
¡°Is this just a dream?¡± Some even wondered if they were still asleep.
¡°Dad, you can¡¯t be dead! Please, get up!¡± Liu Wei cried out in despair as he rushed to Liu Shirong¡¯s lifeless body.
¡°The boss has been killed.¡±
The rest of the subordinates were stunned, their fear palpable.
Liu Shirong¡¯s death had shaken them to their core, and their psychological defenses crumbled in that instant.
¡°Run for it!¡±
After a brief exchange of looks, they scattered in all directions.
Tan Chong¡¯s formidable power had taken everyone by surprise. He made eliminating a Level 1 Evolver look as effortless as slicing through vegetables. To him, these ordinary folks were less significant than ants.
If they didn¡¯t escape quickly, how could they hope to survive?
¡°Do you really think you can get away?¡± Tan Chong scoffed.
He was intent on capturing them all, determined not to let anyone slip through his grasp.
Propelled by the Extreme Speed Battle Boots, Tan Chong pursued them like a whirlwind.
Apanied by a series of screams, a dozen bodies soony strewn across the valley floor.
He, too, was an Evolver!
Unstoppably powerful!
Invincible!
It was too brutal!
The onlookers were shaken as they watched Tan Chong eliminate more than a dozen people, their emotions churning and unable to settle for a long while.
Elsewhere, Liu Wei had intended to flee, but paralyzing fear had seized his legs, leaving him unable to take even a single step.
Tan Chong advanced slowly, the Chopping de in his hand glinting with a blinding chill.
¡°Don¡¯te any closer!¡± Liu Wei, trembling with terror, copsed to the ground.
¡°You can go to hell and join your father,¡± Tan Chong said mockingly.
¡°Please, I beg you, don¡¯t kill me!¡± As Tan Chong drew near, resembling a Killing God, Liu Weipletely fell apart. He knelt on the ground, weeping and wailing as he pleaded for mercy.
Tan Chong remained impassive. With a swift motion, he brought the Chopping de down from above, and arge head tumbled to the ground.
Qiu Jing and Qiu Hanh, upon hearing the scream, dashed out from the cave just in time to see Tan Chong execute Liu Wei.
¡°He killed Liu Wei!¡± Qiu Jing eximed, her hand over her mouth, her face etched with horror.
¡°Sis, Liu Shirong is dead too,¡± Qiu Hanh said, tugging at Qiu Jing¡¯s sleeve and pointing shakily at Liu Shirong¡¯s body.

Chapter 35
C35 ¨C Nether Blue Fruit
Qiu Jing gasped upon seeing Liu Shirong¡¯s lifeless body, rooted to the spot in shock.
Initially, she had dismissed Tan Chong¡¯s ims as mere bravado, never truly believing he possessed the power to y a Level 1 Evolver.
Her gaze towards Tan Chong now held a mix of emotions.
¡°The trouble¡¯s been dealt with. Come on in; I need to ask you both something,¡± Tan Chong announced before heading back into the cave.
Exchanging a nce, Qiu Jing and Qiu Hanh followed in Tan Chong¡¯s footsteps.
¡°Tan Chong, how did you manage to kill Liu Shirong? Was it really with that bizarre weapon?¡± Qiu Jing inquired the moment they stepped into the cave.
She had intended to take another look at the Pulse Pistol, but to her surprise, it was no longer in Tan Chong¡¯s possession.
Tan Chong simply nodded, offering no further exnation. He then shifted the conversation, ¡°I¡¯ve heard your father is trapped in Wolf Valley. Are there many Mutated Wolves there?¡±
¡°In Wolf Valley, there are just three Mutated Wolves, but they¡¯re all Level 1 Mutated Beasts. They¡¯re incredibly powerful,¡± Qiu Hanh rified.
Tan Chong fell into a thoughtful silence, his eyes beginning to sparkle with intrigue.
Typically, Mutated Beasts of the same level posed a greater threat than human Evolvers.
His interest in the Mutated Wolves stemmed from the bottle of Pet Medicinal Water he carried. Capturing one could significantly enhance his strength.
¡°Why did your father venture into Wolf Valley?¡± Tan Chong asked, puzzled.
?Without reservation, Qiu Jing revealed, ¡°Wolf Valley is home to the Nether Blue Fruit. Consuming it greatly increases the odds of bing a Psychic Psychokinesis Master. My father went there seeking the fruit.¡±
Tan Chong¡¯s eyes shone with anticipation.
Bing a Psychic Psychokinesis Master was an arduous task for the average person.
At the Tiannan Gathering ce, among the dozen or so Evolvers, there was only one Magic Psychokinesis Master and not a single Psychic Psychokinesis Master.
Should the Nether Blue Fruit indeed have the potential to turn someone into a Psychic Psychokinesis Master, its worth would be beyond measure.
While Tan Chong could enhance his abilities by collecting fragments and had no need for the Nether Blue Fruit, Jiang Qiu could certainly benefit from it.
The Nether Blue Fruit held immense value.
¡°Tan Chong, are you interested in the Nether Blue Fruit?¡± Qiu Jing asked, her curiosity piqued by Tan Chong¡¯s sudden inquiries about Wolf Valley.
¡°Yes,¡± Tan Chong confirmed with a nod.
Tan Chong¡¯s initial goal had been the Mutated Wolf, and if Qiu Chudao were still alive, he intended to rescue him as well.
Learning about the Nether Blue Fruit in Wolf Valley only strengthened Tan Chong¡¯s resolve to venture there.
¡°There are three Mutated Wolves in Wolf Valley. My father went in half a year ago and we haven¡¯t heard from him since. Please, don¡¯t act recklessly,¡± Qiu Jing expressed her concern.
Tan Chong was capable of defeating a Level 1 Evolver, but Mutated Wolves were a greater threat. She doubted his ability to handle three of them.
¡°I¡¯m not going to rush in,¡± Tan Chong assured her.
He was confident in his ability to take on three Level 1 Mutated Wolves.
His hesitation stemmed from a desire to tame all three wolves, but he was currently limited by having only one bottle of Pet Medicinal Water. He nned to wait until he had collected three bottles before making his move.
¡°That¡¯s a relief,¡± Qiu Jing breathed easier, forted by his caution.

Chapter 36
C36 ¨C There Are Tons of Canned Food
¡°Do you have anything to eat?¡± Tan Chong inquired.
He had only managed a small bite to eat that morning since the previous night and was feeling quite peckish.
Though the storage bag was well-stocked with food, Tan Chong, being new to the Deste Swamp Mountain Range, was eager to sample the local cuisine as a novel experience.
¡°Yes, I¡¯ll fetch some right away.¡±
Qiu Hanh quickly served up a bowl of something dark and set it before Tan Chong.
?After tasting it, Tan Chong subtly shook his head. The contents of the bowl were not only sticky but also bitterly unptable.
¡°Mr. Tan, how¡¯s the vor?¡± Qiu Hanh watched him with hopeful eyes, inadvertently swallowing his saliva.
¡°It¡¯s not bad,¡± Tan Chong replied nonchntly, then asked, ¡°Why aren¡¯t you two eating?¡±
¡°We¡¯re not hungry,¡± Qiu Hanh said, scratching his head and offering a simple smile, though his stomach betrayed him with a loud grumble.
Truth be told, Qiu Hanh was famished, but the only edible thing in his house was that unappetizing bowl of paste.
Tan Chong chuckled and set aside his bowl, pulling out three cans from the storage bag. ¡°Try these.¡±
?¡±Mr. Tan, what are these? How did you get them out of there?¡± Qiu Hanh was astounded to see Tan Chong produce three metal cans from a pocket norger than a hand.
Having spent his life in the Deste Swamp Mountain Range, Qiu Hanh had never encountered canned food.
¡°These are cans of braised pork,¡± Tan Chong exined as he opened each can.
A savory aroma of meat quickly filled the cave.
¡°Meat! It¡¯s all meat!¡± Qiu Hanh¡¯s eyes gleamed, and he began to salivate.
Since Qiu Chudao had been stranded in Wolf Valley, they had been struggling with hunger, with meat being a distant memory.
¡°Go ahead and eat,¡± Tan Chong said with a smile, handing a can to both Qiu Hanh and Qiu Jing.
¡°Thank you, Mr. Tan,¡± Qiu Hanh gratefully epted the can, devouring its contents hungrily.
¡°Tan Chong, this is too valuable for me to ept,¡± Qiu Jing protested, attempting to return the can to Tan Chong.
Even with Energy Stones, such meat was a rarity and the cans were exceedingly precious. Qiu Jing felt it improper to ept such generosity.
Tan Chong returned the items with a faint smile and reassured them, ¡°Go ahead and eat. I have plenty.¡±
To put Qiu Jing at ease, Tan Chong pulled out a few more cans from his storage bag.
¡°Wow, that¡¯s a lot!¡± Qiu Hanh¡¯s eyes nearly popped out in astonishment.
Qiu Jing was equally amazed, not only because she hadn¡¯t expected Tan Chong to have so many cans, but also because she was intrigued by the small cloth bag he was carrying.
Qiu Jing noticed that the bag was only palm-sized, which logically shouldn¡¯t be able to fit so many cans.
¡°Tan Chong, how can your cloth bag hold so much?¡± Qiu Jing asked, her curiosity piqued.
Tan Chong, in front of Qiu Jing and Qiu Hanh, had no intention of keeping secrets and exined, ¡°This is a storage space with ten cubic meters inside.¡±
¡°There¡¯s such a magical thing in the world!¡± Qiu Jing eximed, taken aback.
She had never heard of such a storage space before and was clearly impressed by this revtion.
Tan Chong encouraged them, ¡°Eat up. Once you¡¯re done, I have some questions for you.¡±
Seeing that Tan Chong had an ample supply, Qiu Jing no longer hesitated to ept his generosity.
After finishing two cans, Tan Chong wiped his mouth and inquired, ¡°Where nearby are there a lot of zombies?¡±
To gather three bottles of Pet Medicinal Water, Tan Chong knew he needed to continuously hunt zombies to collect the necessary fragments.
Moreover, Tan Chong¡¯s Intelligent Chariot was just one fragment short ofpletion. If he could find it, his journey to Vajra City would be much quicker.
¡°Mr. Tan, are you nning to hunt zombies?¡± Qiu Hanh, after polishing off three cans, asked with a satisfied burp.
Tan Chong nodded, ¡°Yes, I need to hunt zombies. It¡¯s the fastest way to increase my strength.¡±
Qiu Hanh responded, ¡°About twenty miles from here, there¡¯s arge mining pit swarming with zombies. That¡¯s where we usually go to hunt them.¡±

Chapter 37
C37 ¨C Exclusive Divine Artifact
¡°How many zombies are there?¡± Tan Chong inquired swiftly.
¡°Roughly ten thousand,¡± Qiu Hanh responded casually.
¡°You¡¯re actually going to hunt them?¡± Tan Chong was astounded.
A group of ten thousand zombies constituted a Small-scale Zombie Tide. Even a Level 2 Evolver might not escape unharmed.
Realizing the misunderstanding, Qiu Hanh rified, ¡°Not all the zombies wille out at once. At most, we¡¯ll face twenty or thirty at a time.¡±
Understanding dawned on Tan Chong, and he nodded. ¡°Take me with you to hunt zombies tomorrow.¡±
¡°Sure thing, Mr. Tan,¡± Qiu Hanh replied with enthusiasm.
Hunting zombies was risky, but they had managed to kill some recently and had gained a bit of experience.
With Tan Chong¡¯s prowess, the danger would be significantly lessened.
¡°Qiu Hanh, is every cave outside upied?¡±
ncing around the cave, Tan Chong suddenly realized he had yet to find a ce to stay.
¡°Yes,¡± Qiu Hanh answered, then nced at Qiu Jing, seemingly suggesting, ¡°Perhaps we could offer Mr. Tan a ce to stay here?¡±
Qiu Jing nibbled her lip, wrestling with the idea, but ultimately nodded in consent.
Her reasoning was straightforward. If Tan Chong could defeat Liu Shirong, he would be doing them a huge favor; she couldn¡¯t just leave him out in the open.
Yet, her consent would bring its own set of pressures.
If she shared her cave with Tan Chong, rumors would inevitably circte.
Qiu Hanh, oblivious to these concerns, joyfully eximed, ¡°Mr. Tan, my sister agrees! You can stay with us.¡±
Tan Chong paused, turning to Qiu Jing.
He remembered her previous dismissal and wondered about her sudden change of heart.
A flush crept onto Qiu Jing¡¯s cheeks, and as she felt Tan Chong¡¯s gaze, she quickly averted her eyes, unable to meet his.
¡°Never mind, I¡¯ll just dig out a spot outside,¡± Tan Chong decided, rubbing his nose.
The cave¡¯s space was limited, and his presence would indeed be inconvenient.
Upon hearing this, Qiu Jing¡¯s expression grewplex.
She appeared to breathe a sigh of relief, yet there was a sense of disappointment in her demeanor.
¡°Mr. Tan, carving out a cave isn¡¯t exactly a walk in the park. Those rocks are incredibly tough; it could take a good ten days to half a month to make any headway,¡± Qiu Hanh said with a furrowed brow, offering a word of caution.
For most, excavating a cave would be a daunting task, but for Tan Chong, it was child¡¯s y. He had a Super Electric Drill stashed away in his storage bag.
?¡±It¡¯s a minor issue,¡± Tan Chong assured him with a wink. As they headed outside, he added, ¡°Just pick out a nice spot for me.¡±
Puzzled, Qiu Hanh shook his head but followed suit.
They roamed the valley, and Tan Chong eventually chose a spot not too far from Qiu Hanh¡¯s own cave. The stone walls here were exceptionally smooth, ideal for establishing a cave.
?¡±Mr. Tan, perhaps consider a different spot? The stone here is significantly harder than elsewhere. Even with a month of effort, sess isn¡¯t guaranteed,¡± Qiu Hanh advised with a sigh.
It dawned on Tan Chong why there were no other caves in this area¡ªthe stone was exceedingly hard.
¡°No need to change; this spot will do.¡±
Tan Chong smiled, retrieved the Super Electric Drill from his storage bag, and began fitting an Energy Stone into it, all under Qiu Hanh¡¯s amazed gaze.
¡°Mr. Tan, what on earth is that contraption?¡± Qiu Hanh asked, his eyes wide with curiosity as he noticed the peculiar device in Tan Chong¡¯s hand.
¡°It¡¯s the Divine Artifact specifically designed for boring holes.¡±
?With a sly grin, Tan Chong pressed the Super Electric Drill against the stone wall. To their amazement, the seemingly imprable stone crumbled effortlessly under the drill¡¯s force, as if it were made of paper.
¡°My goodness!¡± eximed Qiu Hanh, utterly astounded.

Chapter 38
C38 ¨C Prepare to Hunt the Zombies
In just one hour, a stone cave measuring ten square meters had been carved out. It wasn¡¯t particrly spacious, but it was perfectly adequate for a single upant. With Qiu Hanh¡¯s assistance, they constructed a rudimentary wooden door and bed, and Tan Chong could now say he had a ce of his own in the Deste Swamp Mountain Range.
After supper, Tan Chong reclined on the wooden bed, his thoughts drifting to Jiang Qiu. Despite it being only a day since they¡¯dst seen each other, he was filled with longing for her. ¡°Don¡¯t worry, I¡¯ll be heading to Vajra City to see you soon!¡± Tan Chong whispered to himself, eyes squinting with determination.
He intended to spend three days in the Deste Swamp Mountain Range. During this time, he nned not only to hunt zombies but also to secure the coveted Nether Blue Fruit from Wolf Valley. As soon as the three days passed, he would set off for Vajra City without dy.
The following morning, under the guidance of Qiu Hanh and Qiu Jing, Tan Chong set out to hunt zombies. Over an hourter, they found themselves in a sparse grove of trees. A massive mining pity a few hundred meters from the grove, from which they could faintly hear the guttural roars of zombies.
¡°How do you typically go about hunting zombies?¡± Tan Chong inquired, growing impatient as they waited without any sign of the creatures.
?¡±Mr. Tan, patience is key when hunting zombies,¡± Qiu Hanh advised. He pointed to a spot ahead and exined, ¡°We¡¯ve set a trap up there. If a solitary zombiees along, we can draw it into the trap and eliminate it.¡±
Tan Chong nodded in agreement. The strategy might be simple, but it was a safer approach for them as ordinary people. However, he wasn¡¯t keen on waiting around; he needed to eliminate a significant number of zombies to collect more fragments.
?¡±Is there a way to draw out some of the zombies from the pit?¡± Tan Chong inquired.
¡°We can, but the number of zombies thate out is unpredictable. It could be dangerous if too many are lured out at once,¡± Qiu Hanh replied, his face showing a hint of concern.
Qiu Jing, picking up on Tan Chong¡¯s intent, quickly cautioned him, ¡°Tan Chong, please don¡¯t consider attracting the zombies. Others have tried before, and one person ended up drawing out hundreds at once. They were ripped apart, and it led to many others being put in harm¡¯s way.¡±
Upon hearing the news, Tan Chong remained unimpressed.
A mere hundred zombies were nothing to him, let alone a Small-scale Zombie Tide numbering in the tens of thousands.
His concern was for Qiu Jing and Qiu Hanh, whose strength was not up to par. He worried they might be a liability, so he decided to wait a bit longer to assess the situation.
If the zombies failed to show up or their numbers were too few, he would send Qiu Jing and Qiu Hanh away and draw the zombies¡¯ attention himself.
Half an hourter, a single zombie emerged from the mine.
Tan Chong, gripping his Chopping de, charged at it.
But before he could close the distance, a figure darted out in front of him and hurled a rock at the zombie.
The zombie, provoked by the attack, charged furiously at the figure.
Tan Chong could see that the figure was a frail little boy, even younger than Qiu Hanh.
Terrified, the boy ran for his life, but as he neared a small forest, he abruptly stopped.
The zombie, closing in on the boy, plummeted into a pit just three meters away from him.
Several armed men then burst from the forest andunched an assault on the trapped zombie, quickly dispatching it.
Witnessing the scene, Tan Chong shook his head and made his way back to the forest.
¡°Qiu Hanh, are there many people hunting zombies around here?¡± Tan Chong inquired.
Qiu Hanh nodded, ¡°There are several groups in the vicinity.¡±
¡°With so many hunters nearby, how many zombies can you take down in a day?¡± Tan Chong asked, his brow furrowed.
They had been there for over an hour and had encountered just one zombie.
And with the area teeming with hunters, there simply weren¡¯t enough zombies to go around.

Chapter 39
C39 ¨C Tan Chong Did Not Put in Much Effort
Qiu Hanh gave a wry smile and said, ¡°Mr. Tan, we¡¯re not Evolvers. Managing to kill three or four zombies a month is quite an achievement for us.¡±
Three or four zombies meant three or four Energy Stones. After paying off the protection fees, they could barely scrape by on the food they exchanged for the remaining stones.
For Qiu Hanh and hispanions, this was a satisfactory oue.
But for Tan Chong, killing three or four zombies a month was nothing. He would find even thirty or forty a day insufficient.
¡°It looks like I¡¯ll have to resort to luring the zombies,¡± Tan Chong resolved silently.
Based on Qiu Hanh¡¯s ount, passively waiting could result in gaining nothing.
And with only three days at his disposal, Tan Chong couldn¡¯t afford to waste a single moment.
¡°There¡¯s a big Zombie Group approaching,¡± Qiu Hanh suddenly alerted him.
Tan Chong¡¯s eyes brightened. He turned to look ahead and, sure enough, he saw about thirty zombies.
¡°Stay here. I¡¯m going to take out those zombies,¡± Tan Chong instructed as he grabbed his Chopping de and charged forward once more.
¡°Tan Chong, don¡¯t be reckless!¡±
Qiu Jing attempted to hold Tan Chong back, but she was unable to restrain him. In her urgency, she stamped her foot in frustration.
¡°Mr. Tan is really going overboard,¡± Qiu Hanh muttered, his throat tight.
To him, Tan Chong¡¯s boldness was excessive; even a Level 1 Evolver would steer clear of thirty zombies.
Meanwhile, other groups hunting zombies watched Tan Chong¡¯s audacious move and were astounded.
¡°Who is this lunatic?¡±
¡°He¡¯s taking on thirty zombies? Does he have a death wish?¡±
¡°His mind must be broken. If he¡¯s seeking death, it¡¯s his own fault.¡±
As the onlookers buzzed withments, Tan Chong had already charged to the forefront of the Zombie Group. With a swift swing of his Chopping de, a gleaming arc cut through the air, and five zombies were beheaded.
A dark glow emanated from one of the zombies.
The appearance of fragments from the outset was thrilling for Tan Chong.
But he didn¡¯t rush to collect them. With over twenty zombies left, there would be time to gather the spoils after he had dispatched them all.
The death of hispanion sent the remaining zombies into a rage. They viciously attacked Tan Chong.
Tan Chong had dispatched hundreds of zombies, amassing a wealth of experience.
To him, a mere twenty or so zombies were no threat at all.
He didn¡¯t even need to resort to magic skills or his Pulse Pistol. Armed with only his Chopping de, he could easily reap the lives of the zombies.
Tan Chong swung the Chopping de relentlessly, each stroke iming the lives of at least two zombies.
The zombies didn¡¯t stand a chance to evene close to Tan Chong, falling dead where they stood.
Before long, under Tan Chong¡¯s ruthless onught, all thirty zombiesy vanquished.
¡°Six Energy Stones!¡±
Tan Chong squinted as he surveyed the area, a slight smile forming when he spotted the six shimmering beams of light.
¡°He¡¯s incredibly powerful!¡±
¡°He¡¯s got to be an Evolver. Since when did the Deste Swamp Mountain Range harbor such a formidable figure?¡±
¡°Thirty zombies! Even a Level 1 Evolver wouldn¡¯t be that fierce!¡±
The Corpse Hunters watching from afar werepletely unsettled by Tan Chong¡¯s swift annihtion of the thirty zombies.
¡°Mr. Tan has be so powerful!¡± Qiu Hanh was astounded.
Tan Chong dispatched all the zombies effortlessly, disying a level of strength that left him feeling unsettled for a long time.
¡°He really is that strong!¡± Qiu Jing, standing nearby, was equally stunned.
Initially, she had believed Tan Chong¡¯s ability to kill Liu Shirong was mainly due to the Pulse Pistol.
But having seen Tan Chong eliminate thirty zombies with just the Chopping de, she fully recognized the extent of Tan Chong¡¯s capabilities.

Chapter 40
C40 ¨C Enchantment Divine de
Tan Chong exhaled a sigh of relief and gestured towards the small grove where Qiu Hanh was located.
Once all the zombies were eliminated, what remained was collecting the fragments and extracting Energy Stones. He called Qiu Hanh and Qiu Jing over to lend a hand. In return, he could share some Energy Stones with them.
¡°Sis, Mr. Tan is signaling us. Let¡¯s hurry over,¡± Qiu Hanh called out excitedly from within the grove, quickly making his way towards Tan Chong.
Qiu Jing paused briefly, then followed in Qiu Hanh¡¯s footsteps.
Tan Chong turned his attention back to the fragments. Out of the six pieces, four were ck, and two were yellow.
Having collected numerous fragments, he had gained a general understanding of what the different colors signified.
The ck fragments needed to be umted in sufficient numbers to be used. They were associated with items like the Doomsday Merchant Shop and the No-level Gatlin Machine Gun, among others.
The yellow fragments, on the other hand, symbolized things like seeds, which could be used immediately.
Tan Chong¡¯s heart raced at the thought that he was just one ck fragment shy ofpleting a set. He picked up a ck fragment.
¡°Collect the Doomsday Merchant Shop fragment. You cannot use it.¡±
The first ck fragment belonged to the Doomsday Merchant Shop. He still needed several more toplete the set.
Tan Chong felt a twinge of disappointment but quickly reached for the second ck fragment.
¡°Collect the Enchantment Divine de fragment. You can use it.¡±
¡°Activate!¡± Tan Chong¡¯s face lit up, and he spoke decisively.
No sooner had the words left his mouth than a sleek, ck battle de materialized in his grasp. It resembled the Chopping de he already held, appearing quite unremarkable.
Yet the feedback flooding his mind was cause for tion.
The Enchantment Divine de¡¯s key attribute was its ability to be infused with Magic Power. This meant that with each sh, not only could he channel an Evolver¡¯s strength, but he could also weave in the Magic Power of a Magic Psychokinesis Master.
In its ss, this weapon was nearly unbeatable!
¡°Impressive!¡±
Tan Chong gripped his fist tightly, barely containing hisughter.
With the Enchantment Divine de in hand, his power had significantly increased.
Tan Chong then stowed the Enchantment Divine de in his storage bag and proceeded to gather the remaining fragments.
The two remaining ck fragments were both Level 1 Mechanical Battle Soldier pieces, bringing the total to three. However, they weren¡¯t usable at the moment.
The two yellow fragments, on the other hand, were Hard Fruit Seeds. Tan Chong nonchntly tossed them into his storage bag.
After collecting all the fragments, Qiu Hanh and Qiu Jing approached Tan Chong.
¡°Mr. Tan, you¡¯re incredibly powerful!¡± Qiu Hanh eximed, his eyes wide as he surveyed the scattered zombie corpses, a tremor of awe in his voice.
¡°Just average,¡± Tan Chong replied with a modest smile.
What were thirty zombies to him? He had faced off against thousands. To Tan Chong, dispatching thirty zombies was hardly noteworthy.
¡°So, you¡¯re not just any Level 1 Evolver; you¡¯re far stronger than the typical one!¡± Qiu Jing said, her gaze fixed on Tan Chong with an odd glint in her eyes.
Feeling the peculiarity of Qiu Jing¡¯s stare, Tan Chong rubbed his nose and deftly steered the conversation elsewhere. ¡°Let¡¯s get to work on mining those Energy Stones, shall we?¡±
¡°Sounds good.¡±
Qiu Hanh rolled up his sleeves and pulled out a dagger, ready to dig in.
While Tan Chong and hispanions sharedughs and dug for Energy Stones, three men approached them. Their eyes lit up with avarice at the sight of the zombie corpses littering the ground.
