《Im a Divine Flesh Golem?》 A life so short Hannah laid in her hospital bed. 23 years young and about to die from cancer. She had come to terms with her condition long ago. A majority of her life she had spent in hospitals. But now she could feel her time ending. She was surrounded by her friends and family. Through the window of her room she could see the dark night sky. ¡°I wish I could see the stars one last time¡¡± Hannah spoke with her last breath. The heart measurement machine blaring out a monotone sound accompanied by a flat line. Hannah¡¯s life had come to a tragic end. Her friends and family wept for her. For she had brightened the lives of every person she had meet. All at once every light in the city blew out. There in the darkness the still warm body of Hannah began to glow. One of her brothers had the bright idea to take out his phone and begin recording. The light it produced grew brighter and brighter. Ives and her heart monitor fell to the ground. Hannah¡¯s body began to float as if by magic. In the corner of the room a young man who had only know Hannah for about a year turned to face the bed, witnessing the miracle unfolding. ¡°Please¡¡± The boy wept openly as he spoke in a hushed tone, ¡°Even if she cannot come back here, let her live.¡± None in that room heard his words save for the beings no one saw. ¡°For your kindness to this dying girl in her last year.¡± It was then that the veil lifted from his eyes for but a moment. Two figures stood on either side of Hannah¡¯s bed, slowly lifting her up. Each turned their head to look upon him. The first seemed to be made from light. He knew there was a face there but no sooner did he see than his mind had erased it from his memory. The second he new instinctively was death. But he felt no fear as death looked upon him. Instead he felt, comfort. The skeletal visage of death was as white as his hooded cloak. Almost 2 dimensionally white, almost appearing flat. The only distinguishing things he could make out about death was his piercing red eyes and the faintest hints of outlines. They were some of the few things that allowed his brain to tell that this was something 3D instead of an image. The two figures turned once more to the floating body of Hannah. The light was almost blinding now as it reached its climax. As if compelled by magic everyone in the room blinked all at once. When they opened their eyes, they were once more plunged into darkness. As they cried and shouted and flashlights were turned on, Hannah¡¯s body was no were to be found. As neither were the two figures that had been there a moment prior. They smiled as they wept for her, for they knew she was in a better place now. The next morning and for many weeks to come the news would speak of the woman that had succumbed to cancer only to be risen up by god. Many took to saying, ¡°God needed a new angel and so he chose her.¡±This story has been taken without authorization. Report any sightings. The world entered into a new age of faith. Many tried to use this time to benefit themselves with claims of hearing god. All those who attempted such things found their lives in ruin for their arrogance. The darkness had taken Hannah as she had longed for the stars with her final breath. She felt as if she were floating up for a moment. Then all at once her stomach drop. She felt that she were moving toward something at great speed. A voice came to her as she felt a skeletal hand on her right shoulder, ¡°You were a light in the dark word¡even now after your light has been extinguished¡your light still burns in the heart of all those who have meet you.¡± Hannah tried to look to see who was speaking but could not turn her head. She felt as if her eyes were both open and closed. She felt fear but no matter how hard she tried she could not scream. Another hand found its way onto her left shoulder and panic and fear slipped away from her. ¡°We will give you life in a new world that is in desperate need of your light.¡± She felt hands all across her body as she felt her speed triple. ¡°The number of lives you have helped are innumerable. Your light and your name will never be forgotten. Even long after the last of humankind have transcended to join with god. They will still remember your name.¡± Hannah saw a light in the distance approaching rapidly. ¡°David wishes you well. He gave us the idea for the body you will inhabit when you arrive.¡± Hannah felt tear well up and then she felt concern over the mention of a body to inhabit. She felt the hands release her; their work done. She was enveloped in light. Hannah opened her eyes as the world resolved before her. She found herself in a padded chair in the middle of what appeared to be a large magic circle still faintly glowing. The room that held the circle seemed to be a church based upon the pews that were moved against the walls. A woman stepped forward dressed in a white habit, the outfit a nun wears. She spoke, ¡°Welcome Hannah. Our lord speaks highly of you and thus you have been summoned to save the world.¡± Hannah¡¯s face went slack. She could not believe she had just been Isekaid. She straightened up in her chair and asked, ¡°Am I human?¡± The High priestess was taken aback by the question and held off on answering for a moment. Instead a large standing mirror was brought in from off to the side of the large room. The mirror was placed before her by two young priests. As she looked upon herself in the mirror, she found she was smoking hot. She had long blonde hair that almost seemed to glow. Her face was as she remembered it, except she had eyebrows now. She saw her same green eyes. Everything felt different though. She really wondered what was with this body she was in. She slowly leaned forward testing her body. After a moment when she was ready, she stood. Her hand covered her mouth as she closed her eyes and wept with joy. She had been unable to stand for the last several months as one of her many tumors had paralyzed her. One of the priests stepped forward, ¡°Are you alright our hero?¡± Hannah said nothing instead she took a step forward crossing the distance to the priest and embracing him as she wept. As she finished weeping after a long moment, she released the priest, ¡°Thank you.¡± The priest simply smiled and nodded his head as he took a step back. Hannah turned back to look in the mirror and resettle herself it was at this moment that she finally noticed a glaring detail. There was a halo above her head. Hannah¡¯s face once more went slack as she turned to the High Priestess who had stepped forward. Hannah asked, ¡°Am I an angel?¡± The High Priests raised her head as she addressed Hannah. ¡°I cannot say as to your divine status. I have been instructed to explain to you about this new body of yours. I have also been told that you will realize many of the details as soon as I begin.¡± The High Priestess said. Hannah thought for a moment, her eyes unfocusing. The Priestess was slightly concerned by this but seemed to be reassured by an unheard voice. Hannah¡¯s eyes refocused and she nodded. ¡°Your body is that of a Divine flesh golem.¡± Hannah¡¯s jaw hit the floor. Divine Blessings and Revelations Hannah was dumbfounded. There was silence for a moment as everyone present allowed her a moment to process the information. What stirred her from her thoughts was a single priest that began moving to right and past her. As she tracked him turning her head, she saw something in the corner of her eye. Behind the chair she had awoke in, she saw something that made her blood run cold. There behind the chain laying with arms crossed upon its chest, was her old body. Hannah moved faster than anyone thought was possible. In the blink of an eye Hannah had moved from where she stood to kneeling over her old body. Hannah had no words for what was before her. She felt a small hand upon her shoulder. Turning her head and tear-filled eyes to see the High Priestess standing next to her. ¡°Even my lord proclaimed it a miracle that your old body made it here. Most do not make the journey across the void. Even souls are often damaged by the journey.¡± Hannah¡¯s mind was frozen. ¡°I did not think I would have to face this.¡± The Priestess motioned for several more priests from off to the side to advance. ¡°We can dispose of it if you would like.¡± Hannah made a choice in that moment that would send ripples down the course of history. For better or for worst, she chose. ¡°No, I need a shovel and a place to bury it. This is my body, and I will give it a proper burial.¡± Hannah spoke in a low but firm voice. The Priestess motioned for the priests to cease their advance and for several to prepare the necessary materials. ¡°We will abide by your needs.¡± Spoke the Priestess as her hands returned to their resting position clasped by her waist. ¡°Thank you.¡± Was all she could manage at that moment. The tale has been taken without authorization; if you see it on Amazon, report the incident. A place of honor was prepared for her body on the grounds of the church. Hannah watched as several of the priests and gravediggers stood by waiting for orders. None came. Hannah¡¯s old body was wrapped in white cloth and as that was done Hannah began to dig. It took her only 23 minutes to dig a proper grave for what had been her body for all her 23 years. She went and picked up her body when it was prepared. She carried it the half mile to its final resting place. She wept silent tears as she laid her old body to rest within a plain wooden box. The Priestess had tried to argue for a better coffin, but Hannah would not have it. ¡°I will lay it to rest, in what I see as fit.¡± Was all that she said. Hannah picked up the box finding it lighter than she had expected. Then she placed the box into the ground. As she did so the Priestess and the priests had all began to sing hymns and spoke words to sanctify the body she laid to rest. When all was said and done, night was falling. The High Priestess said that they would go through things more the next day. Giving her time to adjust to the new body. Hannah was mentally exhausted. She thought that she would have been tired by now, but she felt capable of running a marathon. Then it dawned on her, ¡°Of course I don¡¯t get tired. I¡¯m a Flesh golem now. Constructs don¡¯t get tired.¡± Hannah laid back in a comfy chair in a room that had been prepared just for her. The room was right out of a fantasy novel. Things were woefully medieval here. The room was dark only illuminated by candlelight and the light of the full moon coming through the open doors that lead onto her balcony. Her final words ran back across her mind, ¡°I wish I could see the stars one last time.¡± Hannah stood and step out onto the balcony and turned her head up. What laid above her was an inferno of light. The stars here were vibrant and clear. She smelled the air and found it fresh and clear. Seldom had she ever had such luxuries back on earth. She often played a game with her friend David. The DMMORPG Yggdrasil. He had told her of his many adventures in the game. How he had to start again after he had lost a fight to another player. It had taken him over a month to appeal his ban. As she stared upon the heavens burning with the light of untold numbers of stars, something clicked in her mind. Hannah was stunned, "This body really is...something.I guess this is my system." She read over the status page several times. She was somewhat surprised to find she could touch the blue screen hanging infront of her. Though she found she did not need to touch it to use it. Hannah tapped the notification about errors.
Your Authority is insufficient to obtain this information.
"?" Hannah was puzzled, "Ill ask the...I never asked her name. That was rude of me. Ill ask my questions tommorrow." As she laid there in bed she made not of several things. She had bars representing her health, stamina, and mana. Even as she marveled at her staus screen she could not help but wonder why was one greyed out and what was with the question marks in her status? Hannah laid down in her somewhat comfortable bed leaving her clothes on as she was not comfortable with the provided night gown. "Maybe I..." Divine inspiration struck her. She could feel her mind expanding and as it did so, knowledge poured in.

A wide bright smile crept across her face, "This is a very welcomed surprise." Hannah''s mind was flooded with how to make higher quality cloths and sheeting for her bed. Hannah not feeling tired decided to stay up watching the stars, and trying for more skills. It was just past the sunrise when a nun came to fetch Hannah. The nun was about to knock on the door but her hand meet only the air. The door was open and there stood hannah with a warming smile. The nun was startled for a moment before relaxing, "Oh i see you are up already. The High Priestess will see you now." As she followed the nun hannah went over the haul of her nights work.

Looking at the notice from her log and the several others she had obtained over the course of the night, she had managed to get Craftswoman up to lvl. 21. Even managing to raise her own level to 23. It seemed that as her skills leveled, she earned EXP. The same thing applied to sub-skills. As they leveled, the skills they derived from would earn a bit of EXP for each time the sub-skill increased its level. Each time any of her skills leveled she earned a bit of EXP. ''It''s probably that the higher a skills level goes the more EXP it gives me when it levels. I dont need to kill anything to level up!'' Hannah raised her arms in her joy, before quickly putting them back down and looking around to make sure no one had seen her do that.
Due to you making the wise decision to use your skill, Wisdom of a Saint, to the fullest your Divine Wisdom stat has increased by 1.
She looked upon the notification with awe and splendor. Most of the sub-skills she had obtained were level 25. The main skills they derived from were then granted to her and their levels changed to reflect the EXP they had obtained from the Sub-skills. It was odd that most of the sub-skills were level 25, the same as her Divine wisdom. "It will probably hit diminishing returns soon. At 100 Divine Wisdom i would probably get skill of level 50 not 100, probably less." There were however one or two outliers from this pattern.

After she had obtained that skill a new small symbol had appeared beneath her three status bars. It was a symbol of a small monk in the lotus position, her Divine wisdom told her. It however showed no bar, and gave no change in her status save for the small amount of EXP obtaining the skill had given her. She had hardly been paying attention to where she was walking and before she knew it they were stood outside a large set of sturdy Redwood doors. And a new notice greated her.

Answers and a Necromancer Hannah dismissed the notice with a thought and stepped through the large door the nun had opened for her. When she was through the door closed behind her, but the nun did not follow her into the room. Before her was the High Priestess sitting at her desk. There were two plush chairs in front of her desk, on already filled. No sooner had the door closed did the figure stand, her head and upper body swiveling around to get a look at Hannah. There was a very girly squeal, as Hannah was immediately set upon by the unknown human woman. However, before she could cross the room to Hannah the Priestess clutched at her holy symbol and after extending out her other hand made a clutching motion. The woman¡¯s body arrested mid step as she began to topple over. Hannah was there in two steps catching the seemingly paralyzed woman. The woman in her arms was about 5¡¯8. She had long dark hair and wore robes of muted colors. Her eyes were green with flecks of gold. The woman simply smiled brightly as Hannah got her upright again. The Priestess relaxed her hand and the woman¡¯s body once more moved. The woman looked ready to pounce once more, but then froze before turning back to look at the Priestess. ¡°Good. Now that you are here miss Hannah there are things we must discuss.¡± Hannah nodded and then looked at the woman who stood a head shorter than her. Hannah kind of liked being tall but being 6¡¯2 would take some getting used to. Hannah extended a hand to the woman, ¡°Hello my name is Hannah Ashborn, what¡¯s yours?¡± The woman extended out her own hand. ¡°I am very excited to meet you. My name is Alexandria. You can call me Alex.¡± They shook hands as Alex practically beamed with excitement. Hannah was very uncomfortable as the woman released her hand and began feeling up her right arm. She was stunned by the action and thus only asked a question for the moment, ¡°What are you doing?¡±Unauthorized usage: this narrative is on Amazon without the author''s consent. Report any sightings. The woman stopped and looked at Hannah¡¯s face for a moment before continuing. ¡°As you may not have been told yet I am the Necromancer who helped craft this body of yours. I am going over it, as I am also tasked with helping to maintain it. That notice made sense now.
Weakness Most healing spells and, healing, potions are half as effective on you. This lesser effectiveness also may include other types of potions.
Hannah looked at the Priestess still sitting at her desk in bewilderment. The priestess simply sat straight up in her chair with her hands cupped on her lap, ¡°She was originally slated to die for her Heresy.¡± Hannah somewhat flinched at that harsh tone and raised voice, but Alex paid it no mind. The Priestess annoyed by this continued. ¡°Our lord Kensivar, lord of light, has informed me upon my insistence as to the reasons for her life being spared. You. She was spared due to you being brought here.¡± Hannah weighted her words for a moment then she continued, ¡°She was arrested for grave robbing and when it was discovered she was a necromancer I handed down the death sentence. But our lord had need of her. She is quite annoying¡¡± Hannah turned her head as Alex was now feeling around her back. ¡°So, you¡¯re my physician?¡± This question actually caused Alex to stop and wonder for a moment, as she looked back at Hannah mumbling to herself. Her mumbling did not last long however as not 10 seconds later she was back at it. Hannah shuddered at Alex¡¯s touch, but she kept her composure as this was not her first physical inspection. Hannah after another moment decided to try and break the awkwardness by speaking to the Priestess. ¡°I¡¯m terribly sorry I never asked your name when I arrived.¡± Hannah said to the Priestess sipping some tea at her desk. The Priestess set her tie down on her desk. ¡°I am High Priestess Penelope Lockheart. It is a pleasure to formally meet you.¡± As she spoke, she pulled up the sides of her long skirt and curtsied. ¡°May I know your full name?¡± ¡°Its Hannah Rodrick Ashborn. You can call me Hannah or miss Ashborn if you would prefer formality.¡± Penelope smiled her first genuine smile in more than a year. ¡°I can see why Kensivar chose you now. In public we will remain formal, but in private¡¡± Hannah smiled it was a nice moment, then she felt Alex¡¯s hands working their way down her right thigh. Answers and a Necromancer pt. 2 Hannah looked down at Alex, ¡°Are you almost finished?¡± Alex stopped for a minute before looking up with a smile. ¡°With this yes. But that doesn¡¯t mean I¡¯m done with you. There is still other tests to be conducted. Still so much for me to learn from you!¡± Alex was ecstatic. ¡°Hannah.¡± Penelope stated plainly and clearly. Hannah immediately shifted her attention to the Priestess before her. ¡°Alexandria, you may conclude your physical examinations at a later hour.¡± She said whilst looking at Alex still crouched next to Hannah¡¯s right leg. Alex turned her head to Penelope for a moment, then her expression became pouting. Alex reluctantly released Hannah¡¯s leg. Standing she walked over and returned to her chair, arms crossed as she mumbled to herself. Hannah simply mouthed, ¡®Thank you¡¯, to Penelope who gave a warm smile in return. Hannah was finally able to sit in the comfortable plush red cushioned chair. Penelope returned to her seat behind her desk next to the large window streaming light into her office. ¡°Now let us go over and exchange some important information. I can see that you have leveled thrice since your arrival here. This is unsurprising.¡± Hannah was a little thrown by the last line. ¡°Unsurprising?¡± ¡°Yes. It is often that on their first days in this world those like you level up more in a week than most people of this world do in 30 years.¡± Hannah weighted that statement, ¡®More than most people do in 30 years. That would mean most people don¡¯t care about leveling or are too scared of the dangers to try. Wait a minute¡¡¯ ¡°You said you could see my level? What skill is that?¡± Penelope gave a small chuckle, ¡°I¡¯m surprised that you have not already discovered this skill. It is the skill Observation Analyze.¡± Penelope waved her fingers in the air for a moment before a familiar small blue box appeared in the air before Hannah.

But never the less a pleasant and ultimately rewarding experience. Hannah was greeted by several notices.

Hannah''s pupil''s dilated. She was speechless for a moment. She searched her mind for the words, but instead found how Penelope had show her that screen earlier. Hannah said, "I have something to show you." She waved her fingers in the air, touching screens only she could she. The screens she was seeing appeared before both Penelope and Alex. "What the ****? ****? ****?!" Alex attempted to swear, but each time she attempted it found the words became something more akin to a birds song. Penelope chuckled, "On these holy grounds, our lord Kensivar have forbidden swearing." Penelope smiled, while alex looked mildly confused and intriged, "****!" Penelope turned to Hannah as her expression became more serious. "The Right Question. I have a similar skill but that is me asking my lord, Kensivar for answers. Yours appears far more...versatile. But i am worried by its mention of consequences. I would suggest that you be very careful with this skill. Put our lords divine gift of wisdom to good use, and don''t get yourself killed by this skill." ''Even if my body is practically immortal, I can still die. Kensivar made a note that weaker people often die from this skill. So if i ask too much this will...'' Hannah weighted that for a moment. Alex remained silent chosing to simply observe for the moment. "Anyway it is time for you to gain full system access, you have undoubtably noticed something missing or strange in your status." "Is that what the question marks are? I don''t have full system access?" "Indeed. Almost every human in this world when they come of age is brought to a church like this one and is given a choice. Of the many options they are given i will try to condense it for you." Hannah leaned in not wanting to miss a single detail. "They are given the three main options with several variations though they are not limited to a single option. One being access to what we refer to as the Roads. The roads were made by our lord and the many other gods that helped him to craft the system. One must work in order to walk down these roads. Most people choose this one. The roads are also called paths, trees, and so on. In the end they all share the fact that they are a means of forward motion in the system." "Two was access to what i believe you would call the stat distribution panel. Practically everyoen chooses this one. Three is status locking." Hannah was thrown for a moment by that option. "Status locking? Do you mean that they intentionally lock themselves out of the system?" Hannah asked, "Yes in a manner of speaking. Many of the systems blessings remain intact however, this option removes ones ability to perceive the... I believe you would call it a H.U.D., a heads up display. Anyway this option is for those who find the idea of the system suspicious." Penelope responded then sipped her tea for a moment before setting it back into place. As much as she didn''t like to admit it, she could understand that perspective. The system was certainly invasive. It had power beyond what most people in this world could grasp. Its was not actually all that surprising that some people people would choose to strip it away from themselves if only a little, were they were given the option. Penelope looked Hannah in the eye as she began a story. "Our lord before he and...the other gods created the world they wandered the void. Occationally they would find other worlds." Penelope took a breath, she had not had too explain these things since she was a lowly nun who worked in the initiation process for the many people who came of age. "Many times those worlds possessed systems like our own, or should i say ours is like theres. Anyway after some unknown amount of time the gods began to gather. Sharing stories of what they had seen. The worlds and their people. The different systems. So it was that our Lord Kensivar put forth that they should craft a world themselves and with it people to live there. He also said that they should take what they had learned from other systems and build their own. One that built upon all they had seen." "The gods of good and those yet to be called the gods of evil worked together and created a system greater than any they had seen. This system took aspects of many other systems and added things they found lacking. Including one of our systems most important aspects." Penelope stood from her chair and leaned over her desk toward Hannah. "Our system takes into consideration ones life experience in calculating their levels." Consequences and a Necromancers Tale "So i suppose the gods of evil made the monster and... Dungeon systems?" Penelope starred at Hannah eyes wide with her her habbit slightly ajar revealing her to have brown hair. "Did they not?" Hannah asked wearily, "I know about a system for monsters, however i have never heard of a system for dungeons." Hannah weighted that for a moment, "That confirms dungeons exist in this world but..." an idea crossed Hannah''s mind. ''The perfect chance to test out my new skill.'' "The right question is, are there dungeon cores in this world?" For a moment nothing happened. Penelope was about to answer her question, but then Hannah''s eyes began to glow with golden light. Hannah felt here mana pool immediately bottom out. She broke out in a cold sweat and her mind went fuzzy. She barely managed to move her eyes to see her mana bar empty. Not only that, her stamina was already a quarter gone. She felt herself about to be sick as her body lerched forward falling onto the floor. Hannah breathed hard, her body burning hot.
Warning! You have lost more than 20% of your stamina total in a single second. You are suffering from exhaustion. Stamina regen is quartered for a time. Continued accumilation of exhaustion can prove fatal!
Then all at once the heat died away. The golden light faded from Hannah''s eyes. There in her mind her answer was presented.
YES
Current count of dungeon cores residing upon Advoria totaling, 1176.
You have earned, 2000 exp.
Hannah felt weak for a moment as Penelope and Alex rushed to check on her. Hannah''s labored breath eased as the minutes passed and her stamina regenerated. Though her mind was still fuzzy. "Why can''t i think?" Hannah asked Penelope not daring to use the skill again, at least so soon. "You probably bottomed out your mana pool. When that happens people often have dificultly thinking until it regenerates a bit." Hannah remained sitting on the floor covered in drying sweat with her back to Penelope''s desk. Hannah placed her hands over her face attempting to wipe away some of the sweat that she had produced during that ordeal. Alex had resumed her personal task of fussing over every detail of Hannah''s body. "Why did i earn experience?" Hannah asked turned to Penelope. "This is part of the life experience that the system calculates for. I mentioned it a moment ago. Anyway one earns experience as they use their skills and body. Health lost, stamina and mana used, so on." Using her new skill had been a sobering experience. ''I think in the end i made the right call. This world is no game.'' Hannah asked one more question, "Can we please do the thing with the system access now?" Penelope simply gave a chuckle while she shook her head. "I will get everthing set, just..." Alex and Penelope helped Hannah up and set her back in her chair. "Stay her and let your stamina regenerate! I mean it." Penelope stepped out going to get things set up for Hannah''s system induction. Hannah rested for about a minute before she stood up and told Alex, "Lets get some more of your test done." After 10 minutes of Alex''s careful examination of Hannah''s body, alex had Hannah begin performing exercises. testing the limits of her well crafted form. It was about this time that Hannah finally got up the courage to ask the question that had been burning in her mind. "How did you make this body and..." Hannah could not even finish the sentence before being cut off by Alex who spoke in a low calm voice. "Listen..." Hannah ceased her question, listeneing intently whilst maintaining her position of having her right foot almost touching the back of her head. "I became a necromancer because i wanted to bring my family back. They were slaughtered by bandit and i was the only survivor. I just wanted them back, and i refused to become a cleric because i would not serve any god that would allow such things to happen." She took a breath and continued. I needed bodies to aid in my research so i began looting cemeteries where people had recently been buried. I dug them up and worked on the secrets of crafting flesh golems. I started this journey 10 years ago. I just wanted..." Alex began to break down as she fell to the floor and wept. Hannah released her position and went over to comfort alex. She crouched down to hold her and rub her back. "I can see why im so important to you now." Alex could only nod through her sobs. Snot and tears running down her face. "I will gladly help you." "You w-w-will?" "Of course. However i still want to know how this body was made." Hannah said with a small smile.Did you know this text is from a different site? Read the official version to support the creator. As Alex was about to wipe her face with her sleeve Hannah snapped her fingers on both hands in unison. The snot and tears rolling down Alex''s face were dissappeared without a trace in an instant. "How did you do that, a skill?" Hannah simply laughed. She held out her open palm to Alex and therein a small flame sparked into existance. "This is a spell i knew of. There is was fiction but here i have made it fact. This is the cantrip utility spell, Prestidigitation." Hannah closed her palm allowing the flame to die. She placed her hands under Alex''s pits and with little trouble lifted her up, placing her back on her feet. "Let''s set the rest of the exam until tommorow. Please let''s sit and you can tell me how this body was made." So it was that they sat and began discussing how here body was created. All the while learning more and more of Alex''s backstory. "I was caught grave robbing several months ago and i was sentenced by the High Priestess, Penelope, to death. However at my execution Kensivar intervened. I was to be executed by guillotine. I heard the executioner cut the rope. The sliding of the metal blade coming down to chop off my head." She paused for a moment. "That moment did not come. I heard the blade stop and assumed that i was dead. But when i opened my eyes there before me was a shining, golden figure, Kensivar. The cheers of the crowd had grown silent as there was their god standing before them. He had caught the blade with his hand. With is other he lifted up the stocks and let me out." Another breathe. "He pardoned me and proclaimed that he had another idea for me. I heard muttering from the crowds as he lead me down the stairs. It was only then that i realized his hand was bleeding." ''I didn''t think that god''s could bleed.'' Hannah thought. "He took me into this church and we began our work, making that vessel." Alex stopped for a moment, "He promised me that if and when my work was done he would bring back everyone in my village. So, i worked diligantly for months with him occationally giving a tweak here or there. We made your body not like how other flesh golems are normally made. Where they are a patchwork of pieces you are a near perfect blending of you pieces." That word peaked her interest. "Near?" "Yes nearly perfect. We had to start with your bones." Alex grasped Hannah''s hand entwining it in her own. "We needed something strong and light. But we could not manufacture bones, nor could we use the bones of the dead. So Kensivar came up with an unorthidox but ultimately effective solution. Have you ever heard of a metal called mithral?" "Yep, so my bones are made of mithral? i can see... one or two issues with that." Hannah said hesitantly, "Yes we found out that is why the first attempt was considered a failure and had to be recycled. We found out that the medal was wearing into the muscles, blood and organs. Essentially your days would have been numbered the second you entered that vessel." "Recycled? So how many tries did it take to get this one?" Hannah asked truly curious as to the answer. "Your vessel was the second. All thanks to one forest dragon who decided to live in a mithral mine." Hannah was thrown for a loop, "I don''t understand, how did that help?" Alex smiled, her green eyes gleaming with excitement still tinged red from her crying. "Some adventurers were sent in to dispatch the dragon but failed. No one died but two of them were forced into early retirement from their injuries. Anyway on the way out their rouge managed to steal some mithral ore from a cart near the dragon after he noticed something strange about it." "When he showed the dwarven mine manager the ore, their parties spellcaster took his party and a messenger to the capital via teleportation magic." Alex stopped for a moment looking expectantly at Hannah. Taking the queue Hannah spoke, "Teleportation move hundreds of miles in the blink of an eye. A very useful traveling spell." Alex smiled before continuing. "The messenger informed the King and the council. Several members of the council used their expertise to divine what had happened to the ore. As it turned out it had interacted with the dragons natural aura and in the process began to display odd properties. Kensivar was eventually given the sample and through his divine means discovered that it could serve as the material for artifical bones. When it is molded into the proper shape and used to replace a normal bone. It would act practically identically to the original. Best of all it could heal like a normal bone and would not be disolved or rejected by a persons body." "So it was decided to enter into negociations with the dragon. The dragon after some persuation agreed to allow for amore ore to be mined out so long as he was allowed to remain. Every month an item made from teh mined ore has to be presented to him to keep him happy. A small price to pay in my opinion. Anyway, his aura effected the surrounding lands making the ground very fertile. Another agreement was worked out and some fields were set up near the mine, while new tree''s were planted for each they cut down to make the fields." "Ok..." Hannah was realizing how much she must love her work, she gave a lot of detail but it was time to move on. "So, that was how you made my bones what about..." Hannah said whilst indicating to the rest of herself. "Right, right, right. We suspended your bones in a solution of alchemical agents and small amounts of... flesh were added to the solution and then magically were made to begin grafting to the bones. As we had already worked out many of the issues the first time around we were able to craft this vessel thrice as fast as the first." Alex''s smile was wide upon her face as she proudly help up three fingers. "Kensivar worked divine magic to ensure the vessel was well suited to housing your soul. It was quite litterally made for you. We sculpted the flesh to a perfect likeness of what you would have looked like had you..." "Not had cancer and lived a longer life?" Alex was uncomfortable with the phrasing and so simply nodded in acknowledgment before continuing. "This is what you would have looked like had things been different." She said her voice one of condolences. Hannah place her hand upon Alex''s shoulder, "I am grateful for all that you and Kensivar have done for me. Don''t worry so much. I laid that life to rest when I buried my old body." Hannah said with a sad smile. Five minutes later an older nun came in to fetch the two of them. "The preperations have been made. You will be joining a group of other youngster as they are also given the choice. The High Priestess sends her regret as she cannot perform a more private ceremony as something has come up." Hannah simply faced the nun as her and Alex approached the door saying, "It is fine. Please lead the way." The nun smiled showing even more of her wrinkles. Hannah and Alex began following the older nun to the ceremony. Ceremony Hannah and Alex followed the nun down the hallways until they reached a large open catherdral. There she saw a several long lines of young men and women being attended to by 7 clerics. There was the sound of many voices speaking blending together into a sort of comforting background noise. No sooner had Hannah and Alex stepped into the large open space did someone shout, drawing all eyes to Hannah and Alex. The young men and women began breaking out of their lines, flooding past the priests. All of them heading towards Hannah and Alex. The priests looked at each other through the crowds and began to mutter words of holy script. the air shimmered about 50 feet from the hero and the necromancer. The advance of the wave was suddenly stopped. As they seemed to have hit a literal wall. Some came away with bloody noses and holding their heads. Others banged on the shimmering wall of mostly see through light that prevented their advance. The wall itself seemed almost gold tinted. "Wall of force cast by clerics, not bad." Hannah said with a smile as she began her advance, motioning for Alex to follow. She could see the hoard turning abruptly to acknowledge a cleric who spoke quite loudly trying to regain order. They threatened that if the people did not get back into their lines quickly they would be kicked out and have to wait a year for their ceremony. They all slowly began walking back toward the clerics and making new lines. As Hannah and alex reached the wall of force she stepped up to it. No sooner did she place her hand upon it then she felt it disappate, her hand passing through the space that had been blocked a moment earlier. Alex and Hannah continued their advance and as they drew within 50 feet of the clerics the large group of people even the a few of the clerics began to cheer. They had been informed that the summoned hero would be attending this ceremony and they were estatic. One of the clerics signaled for a priest to take his place, before walking to meet the duo. "You must be Miss Ashborne, it is my pleasure to meet you." He said with a bow holding out his open palm. Hannah knew what he wanted, so she obliged him. She placed her hand in his and he kissed her hand before releasing it. The cleric stood, "If i had not sworn an oath to chastity, i would gladly ask for your hand in..." He was abruptly cut off by Hannah, "No." She plainly said. The cleric seemingly enthralled by his own ego and self importance found himself blinking in surprise. "I beg your pardon?" He asked genuinly confused. "I said no. If you asked me for my hand, oath or not i would say no. I don''t know you." Relief flushed across his face, as he looked up and then back at Hannah, "Of course you were summoned not to long ago. You probably wouldn''t have heard of..." Again he was interrupted. "I don''t care who your family is." His expression of relief was replaced by furrowed brows. "I am Elowin Elenasto! Heir to the..." Once more she interrupted, "I...Don''t...Care! I knew you were a noble the moment i laid eyes on you. And from the moment you opened your mouth i knew exacly who you would be. Just another hotty, arrogant, egotistical noble." The Elowin''s eyes grew filled with rage, "I will not stand for this when my father..." She took a step forward and slapped the priest, knocking him to the ground. "When your father finds out tell him to come find me and ill put his ass on the floor as well!" Hannah declared defiantly, it was at that moment that a new cheer went up from those in the crowd. Hannah looked upon all those cheering for her. He stood up and began walking away, mumbling, "I cannot believe she did 50 damage with a slap!" Hannah stepped forward and a priestess did as the priest had done, calling over another to take her place before speed walking to intercept hannah. "Miss Ashborne i am terribly sorry for the actions of one of our own, please do forgive him." "No." Hannah simply stated, much to the dismay of the priestess. "Next time i see the High priestess i will see if i can get him kicked out of this church. Men like him should not serve god." The room was silent now, all had heard her proclaimation, including the priest in question. This story is posted elsewhere by the author. Help them out by reading the authentic version. His forcefull footsteps came to an abrupt halt as he heard her. Cold sweat and shivers ran down his spine. He dared not look back, lest he tempt her to make good on that promise. He continued on his way. Anger burning in his heart as he felt the eyes of several other nobles from the crowd falling upon him as he walked into a hallway out of the cathedral. The priestess leaned in for a moment whispering, "I''ll be honest, bout time someone put him in his place." She stepped back before bowing and curtsying to Hannah, "My name is Venesa Smith. I will gladly conduct your ceremony today...Miss Ashborne?" There was a pause for a moment before Hannah answered, "Hannah or miss Ashborne is fine. Can we please start?" The priestess looked ready to object for a moment before obliging her, "Of course. By the light of Kensivar i welcome you." Several notices filled Hannah''s view.

Hannah''s jaw went slack. She hadn''t know what to expect but what was displayed before her was too much. "100,000 Road Points!" Hannah yelled and immediately regreeted it. There was an uproar from the crowd as they were clamoring once more to get at her. Many asking questions though she could not hear any of them over everyone else who was talking. There were too many voices, too many people. ''It''s too much!'' Hannah closed the menu, turned around and ran.
You have been afflicted with panic. In fight or flight your legs carry you swiftly away from its source.
Her legs beat fiercly against the white marble flooring. More notifications pinged in her ears but she ignored them. She had to get away. This was all too much for her right now. She had thought she was ready, only to be thrown into the deepend. Hannah''s legs were swift, and growing swifter. The walk that had taken her and Alex 20 minutes now took her 4 minutes of running. She remembered every turn she had taken. Her new speed grew greater with each passing minute. At 4 minutes she blew past Penelope''s office door''s. The 30 minute walk from her room to Penelope''s office now only took 5 minutes of frantic backtracking. Hannah skidded to a stop in front of the door to her room. She nearly yanked the door from its hinges trying to open it. She got the door open racing through and slamming the door behind her. Her pounding her refusing to settle in her throbing chest. Her tears flowed freely as she locked the door behind her and jumped onto the bed curling into the fetal position as she wept. Her body was so strong but in the end she was still so fragile inside. She wept and through her tears a skill self activated.
Meditation is in effect.
Slowly a peace washed over her. Her breathing growing calmed as did her pounding heart. Nearly an hour and 5 meditation levels later, there was a knock at the door. "Hannah? It''s Alex can you please open the door?" Hannah sat up and wiped away her tears before standing. She walked over and unlocked the door before opening it. There was Alex just as she had been when she ran away. "May i come in?" "Yes." Hannah let Alex into her room before deciding, ''Let me check my status.''

"What''s with the asterisk?" Hannah asked as her eyes began to glow. The first of many Roads Once more Hannah''s mana tanked to 0. She felt a sudden weakness wash over her for a moment as something within her began to change. She leaned against the wall of her bedroom as Alex''s rushed to her side. Sweat dripped from her brow as her body felt like it was burning. Upon seeing the glow in her eye''s Alex realized she had accidentally activated her most dangerous skill. Alex screamed for Hannah to turn off the skill, but she could not hear her over the pounding of her own heart and the roaring sound of blood rushing through her ears. Hannah felt weak and powerless in that moment. Her body was strong but she was not. She just wanted to be stronger. From the bottom of her heart she wanted to be strong so that she could be what her friends and family had been for her. A person willing to lift up others and to give them hope. She wanted to give back for all the love she had received in her life. She wanted to be strong fpr other''s but also for herself. The pain and sound of her raging heart all at once stopped. She opened her eyes to find herself floating in a black void. There before her she saw a singluar orb of radiant white and golden light, no larger than her fist. She looked around in this dark place in which she floated, only to find there was only the orb and herself. Not even her HUD was to be seen in this place. She felt she should panic, but that feeling of existential dread seemed to be held back by something. That was when she felt it. She felt mediation was still in effect, ''What''s happening...'' Hannah''s thoghts interrupted as her eyes flashed once more with golden light. Here, in this place, her answer''s came without pain. Hannah reached out knowing what she was about to obtain. She knew that this was a way for her to get stronger. Not only in a physical way, but spiritually. With this she could have the strength of mind she so desperately needed. Hannah grasped the small orb of randiant light. She felt something new wash over her body. Something that had always been there just beyond her reach. Just beyond her perception. The black space that surrounded her was bathed in the radiant white and golden light as she heard the all too familiar ping of a system notice. If you find this story on Amazon, be aware that it has been stolen. The world spun as she laid on the floor. Her conciousness fading in and out. In the brief moment she had been lucid before slumber took her she saw that her considerable stamina pool, was empty. Her eyes glazed over as her eyes shut, sleep took her. Several times over the following hours did hannah wake for a moment before her exhaustion forced her back to sleep. -------------------------------------------------------- It was morning when Hannah finally stirred from her dreamless slumber. She felt relaxed as if all the tension of her body had been released. As she breathed in she felt something warm within her chest. "A cultivation core." Though it was but a small bead of warmth now she knew it would become so much more down the road. Hannah smiled as she watched the sun rise though the set of glass doors that lead out onto her balcony. The sky was drenched in red and golden light. It was beautiful. It gave her hope. The adventure begins

(Apprentice cloth tailoring has been changed to sewing as, upon some research, it fit more with how she discovered it. The question she asked, so on. Farming skill added retroactively as it being missing was a mistake on my part.) Hannah looked upon her status as she stood on the balcony of her room. Basking in the light of the sunrise. "Well, let''s start distributing our bounty." Hannah placed 10 into each stat with 9 stat points remaining she invested them into luck. A small blue box appeared to confirm her choices to which she reviewed and accepted. Strength of body and clarity of mind washed over Hannah as all her stats jumped up. She viewed her status to confirm, seeing all her stats had been raised, along with the accompaning increases to her resource pools and the regeneration for them.

Satisfied Hannah moved to take her first steps upon the roads. "Roads please." The menu popped up seemingly more compact than it had been the previous time she had seen it.
Road of Beginnings 0/5 Road that Lights the World 0/ 100,000 Road of the Chosen 0/100 Road of the Living Construct 0/50 Road of the Cosmic Traveler 0/1000 Road of the (Humble) Farmer 0/10
Road of the Apprentice III 0/25 Road of the Blessed 0/10 Road of the Seer 0/50 Road of the Tireless 0/20 Road of Many Branches 0/??
Road of the Otherworldly Saint 0/100 Road of the Summoned Hero 0/100 Road of the Craftswoman V 0/10 Road of the Fledgling Mage 0/10 Road of the Cultivation 0/100
(Authors note: The farming road has been retroactively added as it should have been there previously) Hannah took immediate notice of the new roads open to her. She was curious and so she tapped the road instead of attempting to add points to it.
Road of the Cultivation You have discovered the Road of Cultivation by uncovering the Cultivation system. Many have walked this path only to stumble and find themselves unable to continue. Shall you walk this road?
"So tapping the names gives the descriptions, nice." Hannah smiled as she dismissed the path description and focused upon the Road of Beginnings. She placed 5 points into the road, completeing it. The hardest step is often the first, +1 Willpower... The second step brings you farther from where you started, +1 Dexterity... The third step, you have reached halfway. Shall you go on? Only you can decide. +1 Intellect... The fourth step, you are almost there, you see the end of this road and the beginnings of many others. +1 Perception... The fifth step, you feel accomplished. You have chosen and walked a road for yourself. +1 Endurance... Congradulations! You have completed the Road of Begginings! +1 to all stats! +1 to all regens... The first road of man has been completed. There shall always be a road for you and should none be open you may tread forth into the unknown and carve out your own... Hannah smiled the stat boosts were nice, ''I wonder if that road gives something different for everyone?'' Her intuition told her that it was more than likely true. Hannah looked upon the other roads available to her and decided to hold off on the longer roads. She would instead try to complete the shorter roads first. She reviewed the shortest roads available to her. Road of the Apprentice III, Road of the Blessed, Road of the Craftswoman V, Road of the Tireless, Road of the Fledgling Mage, Road of the (Humble) Farmer. She excluded any of the road that required 50 points or more. Hannah decided her next road to walk was that of the Craftswoman. She placed in the first point but nothing happened. She received the notice after putting in the second, and every second after that. Few woman take up a trade, you are among those few. +5 Willpower... You tread forth undaunted by the man who dominate your trade. +3 strength... Your eye for detail is impecable. +4 Perception... Where others use force to get the job done, you use finesse. +3 Dexterity... Among all other things, you make your job look good. +3 Charisma... Congradulations! You have completed the Road of the Craftswomen V! +20 Stamina, +2 Strength, +2 Dexterity!... Hannah''s smile grew wider as she felt her feet tread forth even as in actuality she remained standing where she was. She loved this feeling. In her old life she had always felt as if her life was a dead end street. But now, she truly felt as if the roads before her could lead her onward indefinately. She wanted to invest into the fledgling mage path next but found her attention drawn to the Farmers road. Her smile waning for a moment ''The world doesn''t always need another hero. Sometimes it just needs another humble farmer.'' Hannah''s smile returned smaller this time but still there. As before it gave out notices every second point. You work in the heat that others may eat. +1 Strength... Your work is hard but gratifying. +2 Strength... As you till the earth before you so too do you till the earth within yourself. +3 Willpower You nurture your crop and those that taste it realize the love and care that has gone into it. +2 (Divine) Wisdom As your fields yield the fruits of your labor so too does the land within you. +4 Luck Congradulations! You have completed the Road of the (Humble) Farmer! +4 Strength, +20 stamina! You have learned the skill, Manual Labor Lvl. 1! With every step upon the road she felt something within her grow and at the roads conclusion, she felt it blossom. Tears rolled down her cheeks. She felt a little stronger, and the world a little brighter. But maybe that was just the rising sun. Hannah reviewed her status, noticing she had gained a stat point when she received the Manual Labor skill.

She placed the stat point into her Divine wisdom, and looked over the roads still on her earlier list. Road of the Apprentice III, Road of the Blessed, Road of the Tireless, Road of the Fledgling Mage. Hannah decided she wanted magic, as she had yet to learn a single spell from this world. "Could i use..." Hannah felt "The Right Question" begin to activate at her question. She had felt it several times up to now and upon a second of reflection, deactivated the skill. "That is one question i will find the answer to myself. Besides that seems like a question that you will kill me for." The question still burned in her mind, ''Can i use any spells from D&D?'' It was that burning question that brought her to step down the road of a fledgling mage. The notices came every two points as before. Many seek out magic to gain power over others. You seek magic for it burns in your heart. +5 mana... You tread this path in search of things known already to you. +3 (Divine) Wisdom... You feel yourself growing closer to a break through. +4 Intellect... The words are coming to you but there are still pieces missing. +2 (Divine) Wisdom... The words are on the tip of your tounge. You already know your first spell, which is ERORR!... Uknown spell construction detected... Quantifying... ERORR!... Observation Required! You will Comply!... Hannah smiled as the notices ceased, even with the almost threat. She cupped her hand and spoke the words she had not said in many years, "And on the first day, the lord saw fit to say, Let there be, Light!" No sooner had so said it than she felt something within her move. As if she had used a muscle she had never known was there. The light of the sunrise coalesced there in her cupped hands, forming what seemed to be almost a liquid. A liquid made of light. What is this spell? What is its clasification? You will comply. The system seemed less urgent this time. It seemed more curious. So, she gave it what it wanted. Hannah spoke as tears of joy rolled from her cheeks. "This is the cantrip, Light." Congradulations! You have earned the title of Fledgling mage! You have brought forth a new type of spell from another world! Your contributions to magical knowledge have been duely noted! +50 mana, You have earned the skill, "Mana Manipulation" Lvl. 1
Skill, Mana Manipulation has its skill level set to 10!
Off the Hallowed grounds Hannah looked upon the notice with glee. As she pondered which road to walk next her train of thought was derailed by a knock at the door. "Come in!" Hannah called from her balcony. Turning as she heard the large double doors open she saw Penelope in her usual attire. "I see you are up and around. That''s is a good sign. How are you feeling?" Penelope asked as Hannah walked back into the room from the balcony. The sunrise behind her making it appear almost as if she had a halo. "I feel fine. Great, actually. I completed a few roads. It''s truly amazing that my status could be raised so much by just a few roads." Hannah said a genuine smile resting upon her face. Penelope returned the smile before it wavered, "There are several things that we must discuss. Come sit." Penelope said as she sat down on the edge of Hannah''s bed patting next to her. Hannah walked over and sat upon her bed. "The King and Queen wish to meet with you. They have heard several things about you that has...shall I say, peaked their interests. After that you will have to chose from a group of potential individuals to join your party." Hannah sat there for a moment absorbing the information. "So meet the royal and pick the people who will help me kill the Demon king? Ok. Are we going now?" Penelope''s face was one of concern, but even so she stood and began leading Hannah toward the church enterance. There was silence as they walked. Though Penelope was clearly struggling with something she did not give voice to it. ''She will talk to me when she''s ready.'' Was what Hannah thought. Hannah was lead down the long marble corridors of the church. She once more entered the large open cathedral where she had gained greater system access not too long ago. Still they continued. It took several minutes to walk from one end of the cathedral to the large enterace she had seen when last she was here. A dozen men in plate armor stood at attention in front of the a set of large mahogony double door''s. Hannah wondered for a moment what kind of wood it was. Her eyes blazed gold for but the blink of her eyes before returning to normal. Hannah''s expression becoming one of, ''huh''.Love what you''re reading? Bulgwood Double Door''s
Double door''s made from Bulgwood. Bulgwood is well known for being resistant to most forms of physical damage and even several forms of magical damage. Bulgwood makes for poor firewood in most cases. However, with sufficient heat will burn quite hot for several hours.
Hannah realized her autowalk skill had activated itself sometime ago. She dismissed the blue box as she turned her attention to men in plate armor before her and Penelope. A larger armored man stepped forward. His armor shining like platinum in the light from the large stained as he took off his helm, he spoke. "Lady Lockheart." He said as he took a knee, his right hand pushing down upon the handle of his blade as to prevent its sheath from scraping the floor. The others behind him mimicked this action perfectly, every movement identical. ''These are some well trained paladins.'' Hannah thought. The paladin spoke, addressing Penelope with his head still facing the marble flooring. "It will our honor and privledge to escort you and Lady Ashborn to the royal palace." Penelope''s expression was now blank, giving no hints as too how she felt. "Thanks you sir Terrance. You may all rise." As Terrance stood Hannah could not help but feel she had seen his face somewhere before. Then it dawned on her. ''But it couldn''t be...'' Hannah spoke addressing the paladin before her. "Would your last name happen to be Crews, Sir Terrance?'' The large imposing figure of the paladin before her was a black man. During her many visits to hospitals in her old life she had taken to watching old shows. He was the spitting image of actor from an old comedy about police officers. She remembered his name, Terry Crews. He had died a dozen years before she had even been born. Having lived a long and prosperous life. His eye''s widened at her her question, "Yes my lady. My family name is Crews. I come from a long line of fishermen. I was named for my grandfather. He was a man much like yourself, for he too came her from another world. You know my name, I am honored." The man''s expression becoming relaxed as he went on On the outside Hannah restrined her expression, but on the inside, she was flipping out a bit.
