《DiamonFTW's collection of OneShots》 One Shot #1: For Vengence ¡°You! You fucking bastard! I¡¯m going to kill you!¡± Shouts an enraged man as he raises his already bloodied pipe. While he swings it down, the man being attacked thinks, ¡®You can¡¯t! You can¡¯t! You! I¡¯ll destroy your life if I ever remain!¡¯ And then the sickening crunch of a person''s head cracking. And another sickening crunch and another. Until the enraged man comes to his sense. ¡°I¡¯ve, I¡¯ve got to hide the body. Oh no, what have I done? I didn¡¯t. I didn¡¯t mean to kill him!¡± Dragging the body away, the man puts the mutilated body into a trash bag, ties it up, and throws the bag into the river. ¡°Hopefully the police don¡¯t find the bag. But even then, they can¡¯t trace it back to me, right. They can¡¯t trace it.¡± Mutters the man. The man mutters the whole way to his house. But he should have stayed a moment longer. As the spirit of the man he just killed, had returned to the land of the living. ¡°GRAAAAHHHHHH¡± Howls the mutilated spirit towards the moon. This spirit has come back in the exact image of when the body died, with a mutilated head with wet, dripping water. The man had actually still been alive when he had been thrown into the river. Now, this man is a vengeful spirit. So the only thing retained, is their desire for revenge. The only thing that has remained, burning this feeling, this need into its very being. There was no way this newly awakened spirit would ever rest until this man died a terrible death. And when the man died, the vengeful spirit would bring it to hell with him. At this thought, the vengeful spirit grinned a twisted smile, he would kill the man. Kill him! Kill him! KILL HIM! Howling one more time at the moon, the vengeful spirit slips off into the night, searching for his prey. With it¡¯s head to the ground, the spirit looked as if it was following a trail, or a scent like a dog would. But how could that be? The spirit wasn¡¯t a dog afterall. But nonetheless. The spirit arrived at the door of his killer. Grinning maliciously, the spirit slinked into the man¡¯s yard, moaning, ¡°How could you? How could you kill me? I will have my revenge¡ You can never escape me¡ I will turn your life into a living hell before I kill you!¡± The spirit grinned. It would toy with its prey before dragging the man to hell with it. ===================================================================== Waking up in a cold sweat, the killer sat up in bed. And looked into his yard. When he caught a glimpse of a floating figure with a mutilated head. And he realized that it looked exactly like what he had done earlier to another man. But that man had it coming! He had destroyed his livelihood! His entire life¡¯s work! Everything! He deserved it! Glaring back, the man refused to show fear to this unknown entity. But then he started to feel a chill creeping up his arms. As if they were slowly freezing, and this is when he noticed that the mist the spirit was giving off was slowly freezing everything. Already, his breath came out as a plume of steam. You could be reading stolen content. Head to the original site for the genuine story. Panicking the man lashed out, hoping to somehow damage the spirit, but was unable to do so. Afterall, how could the physical effect the spiritual? It wouldn¡¯t work. Seeing as lashing out didn¡¯t work, the man leapt out of bed. And ran for his exit out of the house. But before being able to jump out the window, he was grabbed at the legs and he flopped against the floor. Tearing at the floor, refusing to give into the spirit, the man struggled towards the window. His salvation. But then he looked back. And this made him feel true fear as the spirit was right behind him, grinning maliciously. ¡°You cannot escape me.¡± whispers the ghost, ¡°YOU CANNOT ESCAPE ME!¡± Howl''s the ghost. Some way or another, the man is able to break free of the ghosts control and he leaps out of his two story building and lands without any trouble. Gasping for breath, the man quickly makes his way towards the nearest train station. Even at this late hour, there should be a train heading for the airport. Stumbling forwards with unsteady feet, the man takes out his phone, and books passage on an airport out of the country. Even though his life was ruined by the dead man, and even his spirit still made life difficult. He would still live. He would live! Sure, he hadn¡¯t meant to kill the damned man, but he would be lying if he hadn¡¯t enjoyed beating the man who ruined his life, his career. But now wasn¡¯t the time for that, he had to board the train. ===================================================================== The spirit was still in the house. It was unable to comprehend how the man was able to slip past it¡¯s grasp. How had the man escaped? It thought. No matter. The man will die. He will live the remainder of his life in fear of me. I will kill him! KILL HIM! KILL HIM! KILL HIM! Again, the spirit howls at the moon. But this time, the neighborhood dogs start to bark, the pets all go berserk and wake their owners. The pets were able to detect the blood lust let off by the spirit, but that didn¡¯t matter. The spirit was on the man¡¯s trail again. He would never escape. The spirit would always find the man no matter where he ran. Always and forever until the day the man died. And when the man died, the spirit would drag the man with him to hell. Author¡¯s Note: Yeah! One Shot are awesome! Anyways. I left the story open ended for a reason. Afterall, this way, you guys can come up with endings yourself. But I had a moral for this story. For all you kids out there, the world isn¡¯t black and white. There is good and bad. A murderer can kill someone for a reason, no matter how petty. A reason is a reason. And humans usually only need a reason to enact something. Anyways, moral of the story is, don¡¯t piss anyone off, who knows if they will come and kill you. And for those who are thinking about killing someone. Don¡¯t. You never know how that action could bite you in the ass one day. OneShot #2: Reincarnation ¡°By the decree of the Council of Souls, you are sentenced to a hundred deaths before the age of 30 for your acts of homicide in your previous life! You will not remember this moment in time or any of your previous lives until the moment before your death!¡± With this, the judge in a white flowing robe with a balding head smashed his hammer down with his wrinkled hands. The shockwave caused by the smash caused the man that was being judged to fly out of the room. Smashing a wall upon exiting the room, the black haired green eyed man slowly slid down the wall until he lay slumped at the bottom. ¡°Damn,¡± said the man, ¡°I only killed a couple thousand and they sentence me to this kind of sentence? I¡¯ve never heard of this happening throughout my millions of lives!¡± Groaning, the man slowly climbed to his feet and looked at his standard but wrinkled, clothes of the dead. The man noticing a speck on his immaculate white robe, flicked it off before heading off. ¡°Might as well get drunk as hell before getting reincarnated.¡± ===================================================================== ¡°NO!!! No I don¡¯t want to die!¡± Sobbed a girl as she lay struggling against her restraints. But the man with startling green eyes ignored her cries and continued to torture the poor girl until the girl opened her pale blue eyes with her wild brown hair covering her face. ¡°This¡ I¡¯m my first victim?¡± the girl quietly whispered. And then the torturer swung his blade one more time and then the girl died soon after blood loss. ===================================================================== ¡°You damn old man! How could you reincarnate me into one of my own victims! Now I have the girls stupid memories to go with my others! HOW COULD YOU?!¡± An enraged man screamed as he was pulled out of a building. The building was built atop a high mountain, and had large white walls. The man was soon threw off of the mountain. ¡°This is your punishment for all of those unnecessary deaths.¡± An old man in a white flowing robe whispered. ===================================================================== ¡°AHHH! I have a wife! Please, please just let me go!¡± Pleaded a man as he was held above a tank infested with sharks. ¡°What if I said no?¡± Said the man with startling green eyes that didn¡¯t seem to go with his black hair. Upon falling into the water, the man in the water widened his eyes. ¡®This is my twentieth victim? But how?! People shouldn¡¯t reincarnate into the past!¡¯ The man thought as his flesh was torn to pieces by the sharks in the water. ===================================================================== High atop a mountain in an elegant white building. A flash of light appeared. And a man with startling green eyes and black hair stepped out. ¡°Damn it, what is that old man doing?¡± Was the first thing that he said before he was dragged off again by men in golden plated armor with faint blue lines travelling throughout. As if the armor had veins coursing through it. But the faint blue light was actually mana. ¡°I¡¯m going to have my revenge, you hear that? I¡¯ve lived millions of lives! I¡¯m going to make you all regret this!¡± Shouted the man as he was dragged to the edge of the mountain. But the men in armor ignored him and threw him off the mountain again. ===================================================================== A baby opened it¡¯s eyes just before catching a glimpse of a man throwing him off a bridge and thought. ¡®At least this life was short, less memories to deal with.¡¯ And then the baby hit the cold river water and was quickly sucked below and drowned. ===================================================================== ¡°Alright, I understand, I killed a lot of people! But it was all for the sake of knowledge! You have to understand that knowledge of the soul is a big deal!¡± The man attempted to reason as he was dragged off again. ¡°I was doing everything I did for the sake of knowledge. I¡¯ve lived millions of lives and I still don¡¯t know much about souls!¡± The man continued as he was once again, brought to the edge of the mountain. ¡°Even after millions of lives, you should know that some souls don¡¯t make it here, of the thousands of people you killed, a majority of them never even made it here! They were lost forever!¡± Said the man in armor while he shoved the man, still protesting, off of the mountain. ===================================================================== ¡°Damn, 99th death so far.¡± Muttered the man as he stood at the bottom of a cliff that seemed to go on forever. ¡°But fuck, my challenge this time is this cliff? This is going to take a while.¡± Sighed the man as he began to climb the cliff. Occasionally the man would lose his grip, and nearly fall while he would curse out. While he neared the top of the cliff, the man held his breath until he climbed over the edge. ¡°Damn, why is the guardian this guy?¡± The man sighed as he sighted the massive red dragon that reared onto its hind legs and roared. Tensing his legs, the man jumped out of the way just as the dragon breathed out fire onto where the man stood before. Calling onto his mana, the man summoned a simple shield and spear. But the odd thing with these weapons were that they were clad in a blue light. These weapons were made of mana. And the longer ones soul survived, the stronger and more mana one had. The story has been illicitly taken; should you find it on Amazon, report the infringement. The mana continued to rush out of the man as he started to use the mana to make a suit of plated armor. The armor pulsed with a sinister pale blue light. Seeing the man fully suited up, the dragon let out another roar before it was cut short by a glowing blue spear in it¡¯s eye where the roar turned into a cry of pain. Clawing at the spear the dragon fell down until it realized the man was still there. Standing back up, it couldn¡¯t see the man until it felt something was off. And that was when the dragon¡¯s head fell clean off. The blood of the dragon spurted out and wherever it landed corroded the object. A few drops landed on the man''s armor and started to corrode his armor, but the man repaired his armor with mana. With a flash of light, a door appeared and the man walked through with a grimace on his face. ===================================================================== ¡°I¡¯ve completed my hundred lives as your punishment said, are you happy now?¡± Growled the man as he stood behind a podium in his standard white robe of the dead. ¡°You still don¡¯t feel remorse even after 100 deaths, but that is to be expected of an elder soul¡ But the punishment was already given, but be warned. The next time you commit an act such as this. We will hunt you down! You have been warned!¡± Shouted the judge who still had the same balding head and flowing robes. ¡°Huh, that¡¯s if you can find me!¡± The man with startling green eyes snorted as he turned out and walked to the official path of reincarnation. ===================================================================== ¡°I was so close to the concept of reincarnation before you punished me¡ You¡¯ll never see me again! I can swear on it!¡± A man shouted as he jumped off a mountain. ===================================================================== ¡°How?! How did you find me?¡± A man shouted his green eyes flashing with anger. ¡°You think we didn¡¯t notice the sudden increase in souls talking of murder? You think we wouldn¡¯t be able to link it back to you?¡± A man in golden plated armor shouted. Faint trails of mana could be seen leaking between the seams of the armor. ¡°Hah! I knew the Council would find out, just not this quickly. But it¡¯s too late!¡± The man said as his eyes flashed with a dangerous light. But he was stabbed in the heart, resulting in an implosion of mana occurring in the body. All that was left of the body were bloody smears on the floor. ===================================================================== A flash of light appeared in an arena in a coliseum. On the other side was a gate that slowly opened. Stepping out was a monstrosity. A being half man and half bull. A minotaur. Roaring out, the beast leapt at the man who was strangely standing still and wasn¡¯t even making a point to dodge the attack. It was at this moment, however, that the Minotaur knew that he fucked up. The man sprung into action just before the minotaur landed dodging the impact of collision and called upon his mana to form a pale blue spear which he threw at the minotaur¡¯s face. Still dazed with his crash, the minotaur sat there dumbly while it¡¯s brain splattered all over the arena. Opening his eyes, he revealed startling green eyes. And he received the cheering crowd with a smile before men in gold armor stormed into the arena. ¡°I didn¡¯t know you had the jurisdiction to interfere with a challenge.¡± Said the green eyed man as he slowly started to materialize the rest of his armor. ¡°We told you we wouldn¡¯t allow you to reincarnate after what you¡¯ve done. Now you will pay, and you will pay with the destruction of your soul!¡± The man who seemed to be the leader shouted. ¡°Hah, but I guess you never knew what happens to a destroyed soul.¡± The man snickers. Enraged that the man who would die would laugh in their faces, the men in gold charged the lone man with the cheers of the audience in the background. They would enjoy this. For afterall. No one could die in a challenge. That was simply the belief that everyone had after passing the Challenge. This belief that dying in a Challenge came about through the fear that no one had experienced death in a Challenge and returned to the Mountain of Souls. But what really happened upon death in a Challenge was that the soul was simply sent to another plane until it was deemed strong enough to survive, before being sent back out. Upon being sent out, these new souls were abnormal. Being deemed Abnormal. However, Abnormal souls were extremely powerful, and the Council of Souls feared them. So they ordered that all Abnormal souls that were sighted were to be destroyed the moment they made it to the Mountain of Souls. This man knew of this secret and knew this would be his chance to go to this new plane and hide in wait. He would bide his time. He would wait for a moment when the Council was weak. Afterall, his research was still ongoing and he was so, so close to completing actual immortality. Author¡¯s Note: Hey guys¡ Another OneShot, what fun. Anyways, same deal as before, I will continue this story when I feel like my quality will remain constant. You might ask. ¡°Why did you make this if you weren¡¯t going to continue it?¡± Well the answer to that would be, I kind of want your opinion on that, do you think this story is worth it to continue? But be warned¡ I¡¯m a bad writer... And also, I made this because the idea just popped up in my head, and I felt like writing it down. OneShot #3: Cursed Once upon a time in a land far far away. There was a boy stuck in class. The boy sat in the back row of the class and silently took down notes whenever new material came up. And every now and then, he''d look up to his left and look out the window, and daydream. Not to mention that his startling green eyes dulled whenever he looked out. "What a boring class" he muttered to himself, "I wonder when it''ll end?" Taking a glance at his watch, it read 1:17 PM. "Damn, this is going to take a long time, eight more minutes, huh." Taking his time, the boy slowly started to pack up, when he, once again, glanced out the window. But, something was wrong. The sky was... Cracking. The skies split and then a massive glowing meteor came screaming down. No... It wasn''t a meteor, it wasn''t a meteor because it was floating in the air. It had stopped moments before hitting the ground. And then the Meteor cracked. "Hey guys? Do you see that?" the boy asked. "What? See what?" asked a classmate. "The Meteor, don''t you see it?" said the boy pointing out the window. Just as the boys classmates noticed the oddity, something flashed into their line of sight.
Hello to you sentient and non sentient beings! Be honored that I, ¡°World¡±, have decided to pay your puny little planet a little love. So if you would please accept this new world, please hit the yes button. Yes/No
¡°Fuck no" said the boy as he slapped the no button.
Wow! You and 145,234,234,231 others have decided to press the ¡°No¡± option. For this, I, World, shall curse you! For being unwilling to change with the times, I curse you to become an ¡°Unchanging One¡±! Even as an Unchanging One, I, in my benevolent greatness shall allow you to access your status window! Be glad!
¡°The hell? Status Window?¡± Said the boy in bewilderment.

¡°My name isn¡¯t Collateral Damage! What is this joke, you damn World!¡± shouted the boy, who we shall now know as Collateral.
Wow Collateral! I didn¡¯t expect you to curse me again! For this great show of love for me, I shall give you a little information on what your race has as small little perks. As you will have seen, there are levels, and there are going to be skills. Too bad for you though, you didn¡¯t decide to change so you can¡¯t learn skills, you can¡¯t earn skills and you can¡¯t level up. The good thing about this is that you will never feel hungry, you won¡¯t have any desires, you pretty much can¡¯t die, and you never age! As you have seen, your HP and Mana gauges are just nothing.
¡°Those benefits sound a lot better than those skills¡¡± The boy muttered to himself. Looking up, he glances around the room to look at the others in his class, some are enveloped in a white light, while some are enveloped in a dark light, only he, is awake. Collateral¡¯s friend: Amy¡¯s POV:
Hello to you sentient and non sentient beings! Be honored that I, ¡°World¡±, have decided to pay your puny little planet a little love. So if you would please accept this new world, please hit the yes button. Yes/No
¡°A new change?¡± Muttered the girl with straight brown hair. Squinting her brown eyes she hesitantly pressed Yes.
Congratulations! You and 238,193,209,209,159 others have decided to change with the new world! As a sentient resident of this new world, you will be allowed to be remade into another sentient being of my choice. What is my choice you ask? I don¡¯t actually care, so it¡¯ll be by chance. Just note that being rolled as a human is also a chance as humans are, after all, sentient, unless you so choose to disagree. Roll the dice of fate? Yes/No.
Hesitating yet again, the girl reached out and pressed Yes.
Wonderful! You and 1,459 others have rolled for the species: ¡°Mana Eater¡±! As you are a new resident, you won¡¯t understand your new species, so I¡¯ll help out a bit, you no longer rely on Health to live, but you draw your energy from mana. When the mana you have runs out, you die. So be careful of your mana usage. Also consider the fact that your species doesn¡¯t actually have a physical body, you can look like whatever you want, although that will take some time to get used to. As a plus, because you depend on mana, you are ageless, but you can improve, so rejoice!
Considering the fact that a friend of yours has pressed the No button, you two will be forced into the same party that can''t be dissolved, why? I felt like it. You can think of this as being made a pair, although other people can join this party, you two will always ALWAYS be in the same party. Have fun in the new world! Best regards, World.
¡°Ah?¡± said the girl after reading the barrage of messages. Pausing a moment to take in the information, she looks up and notices that her friend is already awake. Narrator POV: No but really, it¡¯s World. Now I suppose this is when the boy and girl go out and explore the new world, but since I, World, want a bit of fun, I made it so that everyone but the people who pressed Yes, can view their status. That¡¯s right! Only the people have who pressed No can view their status, harsh? No, of course not. The best I can say to them is, deal with it, I¡¯m World the most awesome thing there is. If you¡¯re wondering why I¡¯m talking to you, well. Because I¡¯m going to go visit your world as well! So have a little faith, and wait until this story is complete. Actual third person POV: For real this time. ¡°Did you get that weird notification Amy?¡± asked Collateral. ¡°Yes, I did¡ I heard you pressed the No button?¡± ¡°Yeah, I¡¯m in a party with you.¡± the boy said shrugging. ¡°And this may seem a bit weird but¡ My name changed, the new name is Collateral Damage¡± Reading on Amazon or a pirate site? This novel is from Royal Road. Support the author by reading it there. ¡°That¡ That seems like a joke to me¡¡± ¡°It is a joke, that damn World.¡±
Oh gosh! You cursed me three times! As a reward, I¡¯m going to give you more curses! Have fun!
Gained Curse: ¡°The all Seeing Eye¡±
¡°I¡ You... You f*cking World, is my life a joke to you?¡±
Congrats! For cursing me for the fourth time, I¡¯ll give you a little hint about this cure. You can¡¯t turn it off. What does this mean? This means that you will always know what the person you¡¯re looking at is thinking, you will be able to tell how their feeling, and other fun stuff.
The boy glances at Amy. Name: Amy Race: Mana Eater Level: 1 Emotions: Fear, Curiosity, Affection ¡°I could get used to this¡± ¡°Get used to what?¡± Thoughts: Get used to what? ¡°Ah, nothing.¡± ¡°If you say so.¡± Thoughts: You damn idiot, just tell me what your thinking! ¡°I sense a great disparity between what she¡¯s saying and her thoughts¡¡± The boy muttered darkly to himself. ¡°Would you guys like to party up? Partying up sounds like fun¡± A voice says. Name: Random Dude Race: Half Orc Half Mana Eater Level: 1 Emotions: Anger, Jealousy Thoughts: You damn bastard, you can¡¯t keep Amy to yourself! ¡°Yeah¡ I really do sense a great disparity in thoughts¡¡± Once again, muttering. ¡°What¡¯s that?¡± Said the other boy. Thoughts: What a wimp, I don¡¯t see what Amy has to see in this guy.
Yes, I agree Random Dude, I also don¡¯t see what Amy has to see in this guy.
¡°Wow World, I can see that your naming sense has improved a bit.¡±
Why thanks Collateral Damage.
¡°That was sarcasm¡±
I know.
¡°Shouldn¡¯t you pay more attention to others?¡±
I am, when you get as awesome as me, you can split your conscience, oh wait. You can¡¯t cause you¡¯re an Unchanging One! Nyahahahaha, oh, that¡¯s great. Also, you look like you¡¯re talking to yourself
¡°Oh damn, right.¡± Said Collateral. Looking towards Random Dude he says, ¡°Yeah sure, you can join the party.¡± ¡°Thanks, I wouldn¡¯t want to be on my own, I wonder if the government knows what¡¯s going on?¡± Thoughts: Now I can protect Amy¡¯s chastity without fear! ¡®Why are you worrying about that in the first place¡¯ The boy thinks in his head while raising an eyebrow, ¡®and dude, I thought we were friends! Was the only reason we hung out together because of these thoughts?¡¯ ¡°I¡¯m sure that the government knows what¡¯s going on, I¡¯m sure they¡¯ll issue a warning or something really soon.¡± says Amy. ¡°Hey! I don¡¯t have cell reception¡± a voice cries out in fear. Looking over, Collateral sees a girl staring down at her phone. Name: Some Girl Race: Half Elf Half Troll Level: 1 Emotions: Despair Thoughts: MY FOLLOWERS!!!!!! ¡°Without any cell reception, I won¡¯t have data and I won¡¯t be able to update my blog! Noooo! My followers will hate me¡ *sob*¡± ¡ ¡ After a moment, the girl¡¯s friend walks over and starts to comfort her. ¡°Let¡¯s ignore them shall we?¡± offers Random. ¡°Yeah, that seems like a good idea. So, what race did you guys get?¡± Asks Collateral ¡°I became a Mana Eater, I¡¯m technically without form and I can live for, pretty much eternity.¡± Nodding, Collateral glanced at Random. Nodding at Collateral, Random said, ¡°I¡¯m a Half Orc Half Mana Eater, what this means is that although I have a physical form, I can dematerialize for a short while. And I don¡¯t have the benefits a full Mana Eater would have, but I can live for a long time and Mana can sustain me for a very long time before I¡¯ll need to eat again.¡± ¡®Hmmm¡ Half Orc Half Mana Eater huh¡ I wonder what happens when you make a Half Unchanging One Half Mana Eater?¡¯ Thought Collateral.
That¡¯s a very good question my friend! What happens is that we have an Unchanging One that can use mana, but still can¡¯t level up.
¡®That was a rhetorical question World¡¡¯
Too bad, I still answered it.
¡ ¡°Alright you guys, let¡¯s wait it out for the government shall we?¡± ¡°Hey wait, you didn¡¯t tell us what your race was!¡± said Random. Thoughts: You think you can hide from me? ¡°Oh me? I¡¯m just a normal human, I¡¯m not like you with big creepy fangs and sh*t¡± ¡°Oh¡± Thoughts: So he¡¯s just a normal human? I guess he rolled unfortunately.
Alright everyone, I assume you¡¯re all used to your features? No? Too bad. I¡¯ll begin changing your world now, so have a nice little sleep.
OneShot #4: A Story ¡°Would you like to hear a story?¡± says a grizzled old man with dazzling white hair and a broken nose. ¡°Yes! Yes! I love your stories Grandpa!¡± Says a bright young child with startling green eyes, and black hair. ¡°Haha, yes. Well, the story goes like this, Once upon a time¡¡± Begins the old man as he settles in for a story. Once upon a time, in a country called Autem, who was at war with a country a small country called Verraad who was allied with a country called Socius. Now, Verraad was a small country, however, they were highly militarized, but their biggest weakness was that they had no land to farm. Socius, was a country which excelled at farming, but had a weak military. This alliance was a perfect fit. And like this, they were able to band together. With plenty of food for armies, and the ability to protect those farms, Socius and Verrand were able to defeat Autem. A country known for their great cities and merchants. Of course, during the war, many of the merchants left, but after the war, they quickly returned. And returned to their previous jobs. However, this short peace only lasted for a short while. As another country called Avaritia, who, with their already abundant farms, wanted more. And thus invaded Socius. Calling upon their ally, the Verrand, the Socius weren¡¯t worried in the least. They started to worry however, when their enemy had amassed a large army at their border and Verrand had not replied. Growing more and more uneased, Socius turned to other countries for help. They turned to the prideful country Gloria and Superbia, but upon hearing that Socius was associating with the other, they both denied their assistance. ¡°Grandpa, this story is boring, don¡¯t you have another one?¡± The boy whined. ¡°Be patient, be patient, this story will become more interesting.¡± Replies the old man as he pats the head of the young boy. Socius was finally invaded but their men stood up. The men with their national pride, their patriotism. But it was of no use. No matter how many civilians stood to protect their country, they were all cut down. The farmers had no military training afterall. The country, growing more and more desperate as they were losing both men and land, came up with a desperate plan. They would perform a summoning. But not any summoning. They would summon a greater demon. The likes that the whole world had never seen before. The king gathered his magicians and nobles into his castle and told his people to buy time, time that would be used for the summoning. The people, encouraged that their was a possibility to save their land, fought to the bitter end. Nonetheless, they were still slaughtered. But it wasn¡¯t the country of Avaritia, no, it was their previous ally, Verrand. At first, the people were hopeful when they saw the flags of Verrand, but that all ended when they saw the men of Verrand draw their bows, and fired. Verrand had wanted the land of Socius all along. But had never found the best point in time to do so. Of course, they could have stayed as allies, but how could you trust someone not of your own? But they also couldn¡¯t openly attack the country openly. So they waited, and waited for them to take some sort of desperate measure. For the country of Socius to do something forbidden by every single country.Stolen from Royal Road, this story should be reported if encountered on Amazon. The act of summoning. Summoning was forbidden no matter if you were summoning a human, an angel, a demon or devil. All acts of summoning were forbidden, and upon hearing word that the king had retrieved all his magicians. Verrand grew excited, their king eagerly sent his armies forth. To quell the country of it¡¯s horrible act of summoning. But the plan didn¡¯t go as well. Upon entering castle, they saw that the walls were painted with blood. The floor was littered with the mangled, dried husks of what used to be human. And as the army of Verrand opened the castle, the mangled bodies rose. One by one, the bodies moaned. And as one, lunged at the surprised army of Verrand. The commander at the time, quickly took control and ordered his men to form a circle, to keep the creatures within. Whatever Socius had summoned, had turned its inhabitants into bloodthirsty corpses. But yet again, something went wrong. After quelling the initial group of corpses, the army slowly stepped into the castle. Their footsteps, squeaked with every step. The blood on the floor, clinging to their boots. As the men walked in one by one until the last stepped through, the door closed abruptly. The men turned in bewilderment only to realize that the door would be the last thing they saw as they felt a cold breath at their necks. And they finally realized what monstrosity the country of Socius had summoned. An elder lamia. Known for their need to suck blood, turning their victims into ghouls, and that their lower bodies were that of snakes. The men who fell, rose again, cold, pale, and without emotion. As one, the fallen lept at their comrades. Until the last one standing was the commander, who, using his magic in a time of desperation, sent a message throughout the world with his life energy. That the country of Socius was ruled by an elder lamia. And the country of Socius was then known to be the country of the dead. A millenia passed, the people had slowly grown used to living close to the country of the dead. But that all ended when the elder lamia decided that the small country wasn¡¯t enough. It wanted the world. Unable to deal with the threat that the elder lamia, all the countries came and formed one massive union. And sent their greatest thinkers to discover what secrets the past had to hint at how elder lamias had been defeated before. And the thinkers finally discovered what they needed. They only had to send hundreds of sacrifices, to appease the elder lamia. Considering the dwindling population, one hundred sacrifices would have a larger effect on the general population. So the union sent their countries out, to find one hundred sacrifices. All one hundred sacrifices were found soon after. The union, pushed the sacrifices to the elder lamia, without thinking of their consequences. They were glad they had found a method to end this world ending catastrophe. But after sending their sacrifices out, they all felt a chill they had never felt before. They felt the chill for 100 consecutive days. The same number of sacrifices that were sent. The chill they had felt was the souls of those devoured crying out, crying for help. Those who felt the chill were cursed with a terrible illness, and soon disappeared. The world recuperated slowly. Slowly but surely, humanity spread out and soon regained their former glory. Another millenia then passed, when a mysterious group of men appeared. The group of men toppled whole countries, their might was overwhelming. They spread fear throughout the people, but no matter how many times they tried to kill the men. The men refused to die. The group of men had been the ones who were cursed, the curse of immortality. And with the passing of time, strengthened their souls and deepened their mana pool. The group of men had returned to the face of the world, to stop the world from making the same mistake they had before. War. Upon destroying the final country, they spoke to the new world leaders, that if they ever decided on the path of war. They would be struck down. The new world leaders nodded, glad to be alive, and soon started to rebuild what was destroyed. But as time goes on, humanity forgets its old fears, old fears turning into legends. Even then, the elder lamia had been forgotten. And the mysterious group of men were considered a legend. The neighboring countries soon started eyeing each other''s land. But that was when a group of men appeared. Just as the legends had stated, and again, they spared the new world leaders, and warned them that if they strove for war, they would be struck down. ¡°Grandpa, that isn¡¯t a story. That¡¯s just a glorified history story¡± Whined the boy yet again. ¡°Ah, but this is a story. You see, my boy. Classes have a lesson yes, but do they truly convey that? What do you think what I¡¯ve told you says?¡± Smiled the old man. ¡°My history teacher said that people should learn from their mistakes, this is what this story is saying.¡± Answered the boy confidently. ¡°No. You¡¯re wrong, my boy. Oh, you are so wrong!¡± Laughed the old man. ¡°How? The people were beaten up, and promised to never do war again! How isn¡¯t that learning from a mistake?¡± Said the young boy. ¡°The moral of this story, is that with time, humanity forgets its old fears, so in the very end, humanity has never learned from its mistakes. We have learned that wars are devastating, taking hundreds of lives, yet we continue to war. Why? Because of greed, the need to improve, the want to be the first. And because there is no one to keep agencies in check.¡± Said the old man with a faraway look in his eyes. ¡°So if someone were to rule the world with an iron fist, there would be no conflict?¡± Asked the young boy innocently. ¡°If such a person existed, the people would rebel, for there would never be a world that did not have a conflict amongst themselves. Even within a small country, there are conflicts, rebels. There is no way for true peace.¡± Said the old man with a sigh, as if remembering old memories. ¡°It is time for you to sleep, my boy. Tomorrow will be a long day.¡± Said the old man as he patted the young boy on the head. Tucked him in, quenched the small candle light, and closed the door. Leaving the room in darkness. ¡°I¡¯m sure if I tried, I could do it.¡± Said a pair of gleaming green eyes pulsing at the edges, with a faint blue hue. But the small little boy, never heard of the ending of the story. Afterall, what happened to the lamia? OneShot#5: A Peaceful Farmer I open my door to a wide open area. The sky is clear and beautiful, another great day to farm. Before me lays neat little rows of my crops, with a scarecrow scattered intermittently throughout the field. I grab my trusty shovel, plow and a bag of seeds. Today I¡¯ll be making another row of plants. A beautiful row of gorgeous gorgeous creations. The more time passes, the better the outcome is. Truly like fermenting wine, in a sense. Today will be the 952nd row of plants. The day I harvest what I sowed 864 days ago will be a truly great day. Oh¡ I cannot wait for that time to come! I really must praise Liquesco for the great harvest to come! But first, to begin this new row. Stretching my hand out, I concentrate and kindly ask the sprites around me for their help. And they kindly come forth! They are simply too kind to help this poor poor farmer. Look at those cheerful faces as they push themselves, fighting for a chance to help me! With another flick of my hand the plow sets off to work, going at the dirt diligently. Oh how their hard work warms my bones. I¡¯ve always been blessed by the sprites, always so willing to help¡ I really must go and travel one day to thank the sprite king for his help! When my work here as a farmer is done, of course. It would be simply irresponsible of me if I were to leave without properly taking care of my seedlings no? Yes¡ A tinkling can be heard of in the far off distance, ah yes. It must be the man who brings me new seeds to plant. My seed supplier, I should probably go greet them, yes? Yes¡ I straighten my back, and a sharp crack rings out. Oh my, these dusty old bones of mine¡ What a dilemma¡ No matter, I can still greet them. Taking my time, walking through the misty field, truly a beautiful sight, I approach the man in the wagon. The horse huffs at me and I truly have to smile. No matter how many times I see it, it¡¯s a beautiful specimen, those legs, truly awe inspiring. ¡°My seeds?¡± ¡°In the back.¡± I nod at the driver, it¡¯s as per usual. I open the back and a couple of seeds fall out with a thud. Oh deary me, they¡¯re in such bad condition¡ I lift one up and closely examine it, there are some parts that are falling off but it should be fine. Well, when I plant them I¡¯ll be sure to fix them up, for now, I¡¯ll have to place them in my storage shed. What does my storage shed look like? Why it¡¯s that cheery building over there. I built it in my free time, and now it¡¯s indispensable! I even reinforced it with sprites, cheery little fellows indeed, always so eager to help. Did I say that yet? Oh my, my memory really is failing me, and I¡¯m only 21! Truly, what a horrific dilemma this is. Mmm¡ Yes¡ Look at these beautiful goods. Look at these beautiful beautiful rows upon rows of good little seedlings. Growing more beautiful by the day. Mmm¡ Yes¡ Oh where was I? Hmmm, the seeds have been stored. And the sprites were so kind as to help plant the 952nd row of seeds! How nice, mmm¡ Truly delightful, it seems I can pass the rest of the day on my nice little rocking chair. With the sprites singing delightful little songs, mmm¡ Very nice¡ Oh?This text was taken from Royal Road. Help the author by reading the original version there. It seems as if there¡¯s another visiter today. How odd, the seed bringer has already come today¡ Whoever could it be? Standing up, I slowly make my way to the source ringing, the breach in the barrier that I had set up. It seems to be a small little girl. Aww¡ Poor little thing, there¡¯s no reason to be afraid of me right? Here, have a cheerful little sprite. Hmmm¡ That seems to have frightened her more, perhaps she hasn¡¯t seen magic before? No matter, oh? There are two cheerful little sprites around this little girl already? It seems like she¡¯s already being cherished, no need for my own hmmm? I pick her up gently, little children can be so fragile yes? An accidental squeeze and you might kill them. Gentle handling is crucial for small creatures to survive, yes, yes indeed. Mmmm¡ Small problem, I¡¯ve nowhere to put her for now, ah¡ No matter, I¡¯ll use those two cheerful little sprites from this girl to enchant a new bed, yes¡ Yes¡ That is a good idea, yes¡ Mmm¡ Cheer up little girl, you aren¡¯t alone. I pat her on the head. Yes¡ Cheer up, being sad is no good. Smile more, see, I¡¯m smiling all the time. Stop looking like you¡¯re on the verge of tears, tearing up is no good see? I pat her on the head again. ¡°Cheer up.¡± I set her to bed, and pat her on the head again. I can see the sprite that came with her, imbued into this bed, is already curling protectively around her, mmm¡ How nice, how nice. She seems a bit frightened, so I suppose I should ask her of her situation when I wake up again. Lying down in my own bed, I fall asleep peacefully to the gentle gentle singing of sprites. Yeah no. My eyes fly open yet again. It seems like today is a truly busy day. I have more visitors! At this rate I¡¯m going to have to check my fences again to make sure they¡¯re doing their job properly. Honestly¡ These old bones of mine really can¡¯t take this you know? I need my beauty sleep yes? Yes¡ Rising from my bed, my the sound of joints popping fills the room. Nothing like a good old stretch no? I stretch my hand out and grab my stave, always have a weapon within reaching distance of the bed is a great idiom. Is that even an idiom? No matter. Words to live by also works. Opening my modest creaky door I step out to greet the sky. Mmm¡ Still a beautiful day, with beautiful rolling waves of mist coming and going. Truly beautiful, where was I? Oh right, those visitors. I grow weary of visitors today, I suppose a thwack to the head or two will be enough to dissuade them? Mmmm¡ I¡¯ve always wanted to do that, be the cranky old man waving a cane. Although in my case, it shall be the young me, only 21 years old, waving my stave at people my age presumably. Mmm¡ I¡¯m truly most definitely a young man, indeed. A good smack to the head¡ Approaching them slowly I raise my hand in a peaceful greeting ¡°Intruders, what is your business?¡± ¡°Die! Demon king!¡± ¡°No.¡± With a wave of my hand, the seedlings from my 88th row burst forth from the soil completely in a raging screech. Calmly pointing my hand at the party of four, my beautiful harvest rushes them. In moments they are overwhelmed. No wait, I didn''t smack them in the head like I wanted to! Regardless... Mmm¡ Truly a beautiful sight. And look, four nice little seeds. OneShot #6: Flesh In the infinite darkness in the shadows above the skies, a hideous Being spoke. No visible orifice served as the conduit for its speech but yet... A thrumming noise capable of bringing any who heard it down to their knees clutching their heads in pain rang out. Opening one of its many hands, the figure dropped a squirming red mass of flesh down into one of the many worlds below. Closing its murky black eyes, the figure turned away if it could be called so. The mass of its being shifted, its flesh moved within and through its body as if freed from the confines of the 3rd dimension. The figure¡¯s attention was already elsewhere, far away.
The squirming mass of flesh descended upon Earth. The mass of flesh passed through the mesosphere without fanfare but the mass of flesh began to spread out into a fine layer. Like pollen, it silently covered a quiet forest as the moon hung silently in the background.
Upon landing upon landing on leaves, the flesh burrowed into the leaves, dyeing the veins a red color. It was hungry, and It would feed. By the time dawn arrived, the once green forest was covered in the red leaves of autumn. The roots of the trees replaced by pulsing veins, far underground. And at the center of the forest, deep down below, further than the deepest point of the pond, a large proportion of Its body resided. It steadily gained more mass and energy from the leaves it had long replaced. Soon, it would create flowers, and blossom, and spread itself even further.
¡°You know, when you said that we¡¯d be hiking through a nice green forest I thought you were telling the truth.¡± Said a man. He was dressed conventionally for hiking. ¡°Well, I¡¯m not from around here either you know? I was told this place had some nice scenery this time of year, I guess they meant by how it had an early autumn?¡± Said the other man, also dressed for hiking. The two men paused, soaking in the sounds of the forest. The creaking of branches, the crack of small animals in the underbrush. The creaking of branches? The two men looked up in surprise as two branches rushed down and pierced both men through the eyes.
A limb from It twisted itself out of this dimension and back in at the outskirts of the forest as It took hold of Its new drones. Two drones. Serviceable to scout out this new world beyond Its domain. The furthest range it could travel so far with these two drones, thus sustained by Its leaves, was two days of travel out. Any further and It risked stretching Its limbs farther than they could bear. Unsteadily, It controlled a drone to walk forth. Stumbling every few steps, It quickly learned how to control these limited limbs. Manipulating the arms, It controlled the drone to rip out its tongue and quickly staunch the flow of blood. Tossing the mangled tongue to the ground carelessly, It sent the drone towards the tall metal buildings in the distance. Pleased with Itself on sending a drone to collect information, It redirected Its attention back towards the second drone. It sent a limb through this drone''s body, collecting information on the makeup of this body. It scanned the organs straight down to the individual strands of DNA. Experimentally, the main core of It pulsed faster and faster, and a pustule like growth grew out of Its side. The ripping noise of flesh sounded out as a baby like human tore Its way out of the pustule. The eyes opened, devoid of emotion and stood. It was pleased yet again. Its experiment proved successful. Quickly more pustules grew out and silently. Row by row, standing, eyes eerily facing one direction 100 such ¡°babies¡± stood. They all faced the nearest city. Soon, It would have enough energy to support sending these ¡°babies¡± towards that city and expand Its domain. But not yet, it needed more trees. The second drone sat on the side, already forgotten. The drone whimpered silently.
The first drone finally reached the city upon the ending of the first day of its travel. It stumbled into the city, blood drenching the front of its clothing and face. Horrified, the first person walked up and supported the drone. ¡°Sir, are you okay? You¡¯re covered in blood! Let me call an ambulance!¡± The man said. The drone stared blankly but opened its mouth as if to speak, but all that could be seen was a missing tongue. ¡°Oh god! What happened to your tongue?! Excuse me? I need an ambulance now!¡± The man pushed the drone down to sit on the ground. It complied. Within moments, an ambulance rolled up and a paramedic hopped out and rushed towards the drone. It decided now would be a good time for the drone to lose conscious and thus ordered it so.
It commanded the drone to awaken just as the next dawn approached. Noticing the drone¡¯s awakening, a lady left the room and quickly returned with a man. ¡°Good morning, uh¡ Mr.Albert, can you give me a nod if you understand me?¡± A man asked. It stared through the drone, looking over the motions of the mouth and tongue closely. Back in the forest deep underground It proceeded with Its next experiment. Simultaneously, all 100 of the ¡°babies¡± said, ¡°Good morning, uh¡ Mr.Albert, can you give me a nod if you understand me?¡± It was pleased yet again. Back in the room, the man could be seen scribbling onto a clipboard, muttering to himself as he did so, ¡°Patient awake but not responsive to name. Possible brain damage¡± The man took a few more notes after glancing at the machines surrounding Mr.Albert and quickly left the room. The nurse followed soon after. It was pleased, It felt that It had successfully infiltrated the society of the dominant species of this planet. After collecting information on how much of a threat this species possessed it would move on to the next phase. But before then, it would have to lay low. It decided that Mr.Albert being unable to speak would not be optimal to obtain information, there was the possibility that Mr.Albert would fight for control and alert others of its species but that was a risk It was willing to risk. Although that was initially why It had torn the tongue out. Accelerating the growth of cells far past what would be humanly possible, a new tongue quickly grew out of his mouth. As It rooted through the brain network of Mr.Albert for a rudimentary understanding of the local language, the body spasmed wildly and the monitors hooked up to him went off before It finally stopped, satisfied by the knowledge it now possessed. Moments later the previous doctor and nurse rushed back in only to see the monitors now displaying a stable patient. ¡°He-hello?¡± Mr.Albert said. The doctor stared in shock. ¡°His tongue is healed? When he came in his tongue was completely ripped out right?! And he¡¯s clearly conscious now¡ Maybe he was a bit out of it when I first came in?¡± The doctor said. He turned to the nurse and his notes before quickly bringing his attention back to Mr.Albert. ¡°Ummm...¡± The nurse said. ¡°Do you know why your tongue healed?¡± The doctor asked. Mr.Albert stiffly shook his head. ¡°He doesn¡¯t know how he healed so fast¡ Maybe an instinct type mage?¡± The doctor whispered to himself. It would not have caught the doctor¡¯s words had It not enhanced Mr.Albert¡¯s hearing to the limit based on the genetic information available to It. It was confused, there was no term such as instinct type mage in any of Mr.Albert¡¯s memories. It rooted through Mr.Albert¡¯s brain again to double-check which caused the man to spasm uncontrollably. It stopped rummaging through his brain when the second pass came up with no knowledge yet again. It found Mr.Albert lying down on the hospital bed yet again, with the doctor¡¯s hand hovering inches from Mr.Albert¡¯s brain, specks of light continued to escape from the doctor¡¯s hand. Without hesitation, Mr.Albert bit the doctor and It stretched Itself through Mr.Albert and into the doctor.Stolen novel; please report. Without wasting any time, It quickly moved to seize control of the doctor¡¯s brain before Its advance was halted from a different dimension. The doctor''s face scrunched in pain as light slowly escaped from his eyes. It was confused, according to Mr.Albert there shouldn¡¯t have been any way for beings from this planet to operate on a different dimension. But here was a situation contrary to that, It understood that it would have to find a more suitable source of information. Like this doctor. The main core of It pulsed wildly as it sent more limbs through its own dimension to assist in the take over of the doctor. All of a sudden, all resistance on the doctor¡¯s face faded and it returned to a calm blank slate before immediately tearing up in pain as It rummaged through the doctor¡¯s brain while recording his genetic makeup while It had the time. And finally, It understood. A different tier in humanity, a step in evolution from humans to reach towards higher dimensions. The doctor called its own species as mages. Some mages were more mature and were very capable of dealing and even traversing through the fourth dimension, appearing to normal people to be capable of teleportation when it was simply walking through a different dimension to appear at a different axis in the third dimension. The doctor seemed to think Mr.Albert was just a newborn mage, called the instinct type, because all interactions with the fourth dimension weren¡¯t done consciously. It had to reconsider Its choices now. It had believed that humans were only capable of using weapons like firearms. Nukes had the possibility of being harmful even in different dimensions as energy traveled through the different dimensions in strange manners, but that was not something It deemed a threat. The appearance of mages, however, was a different story. If there was a human evolved enough to reach the dimension that It housed Itself in, that could become dangerous. For now, It would have to retreat with this new drone. It controlled Mr.Albert and the Doctor to stand and leave the hospital and begin the trek back towards the red forest. It had initially wanted to use Mr.Albert to gain knowledge, but if there were beings capable of spotting It before it reached the full potential of Its power, that would be of no use to It. It needed to use this planet as a power source for future endeavors. It quickly recalled the ¡°babies¡± and remodeled them according to the Doctor¡¯s genetic makeup so that they too could become capable of making use of the fourth dimension. While It could use Its own powers to mimic such abilities, if they appeared without Its meddling, It would be able to fool the inhabitants of this world better. But first, It would consolidate Its power before sending the Doctor out to a mage settlement to gather information from more mature mages. Focusing Its attention back to Its body of red trees, in the two days that had passed the red forest had visibly doubled in size, greatly enhancing the energy available to It. If a being capable of looking through different dimensions saw this forest, they would truly be shocked. The trees seemed to grow through each other, and even doubling themselves over the same position multiple times over. Even the way the light hit the trees was strange as different wavelengths of light were caught at different dimensions. In essence, the forest had more than doubled in size. Such a glaring atrocity to nature would have surely caught the notice of any mature mage, but It did not know that this was abnormal. This was normal for It, and It had no knowledge available to It to know that such a transformation was an abomination of the natural order. The Doctor was not a newborn nor a mature mage, simply an adolescent, thus the knowledge available still paled in comparison to what was truly out there. It burrowed deeper into the crust of the Earth. Even across the multiple dimensions, the core of It seemed to grow even more distant. Such a distance becomes manageable now that is had such energy available. For now, it would focus on distance before establishing a faction among the mages and maybe the humans. The flesh of It pulsed in an emotion similar to that of displeasure. The shockwaves of Its anger could be felt from the many dimensions it resided in, but it quickly stilled itself as its emotion reached the fourth and lower dimensions. It disliked being restrained to moving in tempo with time local to this area, but It had no choice. The flesh of It trembled again in anger, before stilling quickly. It would create a force formidable enough to deal with such paltry issues soon enough. Pulling data from Its own flesh it focused Its attention on the ¡°babies¡±. It needed to be able to spread Its influence without doing so consciously like the forest It had modified. It slightly changed the genetic makeup of the ¡°babies¡± yet again. So while capable of acting and looking like an adolescent mage on the outside, the inside would be completely remade. Passively absorbing light waves at even higher dimensions while not as efficient was a sneaky way to get energy, red leaves blended itself through Its new creation. Viewed from a higher dimension the red leaves burst from the flesh at the eyes and any other orifice, and at the highest of dimensions, the leaves could be seen completely covering the body. These ¡°babies¡± would be able to easily subvert newborn mages and humans without Its support, for the creations that come in contact with an adolescent or mature mage It would step in Itself for the subversion. It was pleased. Even viewed from the fourth dimension Its creation looked normal. The perfect cover had been created now, to infiltrate human and mage society. Before It stood 100 seemingly normal humans, however, after a bit of observation it could be observed that something was off. Perhaps it was the fact that there was not even a sliver of an indication of movement or maybe it was the fact that the chests did not rise and fall. Or maybe it was the ethereal quality of them all. Off to the side, three drones stood out like a sore thumb. It singled out the Doctor, it would need the Doctor to put a word in for the 100 adolescent mages who appeared from nowhere. It rummaged through the memories it had of factions. As far as It understood, big factions had thousands of newborns, about 100 adolescents, and a single mature mage. Therefore, the appearance of 101 adolescent mages would be sufficient for a moderately powerful faction that wouldn¡¯t be unduly bothered. Its first move would be to single out a single mature mage and overpower him or her with Its army and Itself. It took another moment to think. If 100 adolescent mages was already considered a large force, then the rate of evolution for humanity truly was quite slow, the time it would take for humanity to fully step into the next dimension would take at least a million years.
It blinked opened its eyes. According to human customs, its name was Bob. While it sounded like a false name and was completely generic, Bob liked its name. It was the runt of the litter after all. Therefore, this normal name fit it perfectly. Even in the magnanimity and power of It, even in Its perfection, Bob was weaker than his 99 other siblings. Bob explored his own powers and reveled in the senses available to him only because of It.
It was pleased. It had initially sent Mr.Albert to find more information in what humans called 2001, but was then set back 18 years. The implementation of humans and the data that made up It was complex and had taken time; but now, nothing would stop it. Its forest didn¡¯t seem to have grown much, but the forest had definitely grown far more in-depth than it was possible for the mind to understand.
It was pleased. A year after releasing its minions and they were entrenched within society. The establishment of Its own faction within the evolved humans was proceeding as planned. With a number of natural disasters, it was able to easily gain the trust of the local authorities when Its minions lent their aid. Since it had solidified Its position, it would be the perfect time to spread Its influence. Through the tethers is created it spread Its command. The faction would begin recruiting more members, who would be specially inducted. Perhaps It would oust some members under the guise of betrayal to begin spreading Its influence into the larger factions. Already, Its control had reached many leading figures within humanity, it was only a matter of time before the mages fell to It. In addition, It had more room to grow Its forest. The territory of Its faction was free for It to use. And thus, multiple cores were created, greatly reducing the chances of being obliterated in one fell swoop. With such a large network It was able to spread Its influence passively to the parts of humanity that held no power. Only going about their days as little drones, little cogs in the great machinery of their society. With this, the majority of humanity had already fallen to It. If It really wanted to, it could simply order for a massive rush from humanity on the mages, but It was displeased. That would simply not be fit for entertainment. It wished to witness the despair during the mages'' last moments in the world. That moment when they finally realized that planet Earth had fallen to It. And then It would finally begin to spread Its reach across the stars, all over this galaxy, all over this universe. And maintain Its foothold here as Its anchor as it conquered dimension by dimension. It would slowly pincer in the remaining dimensions from the lowest of the low to the highest of high. Nothing would escape Its grasp. But first, the mages. Change of plans, It no longer wished to play with this world. It ordered the destruction of the mages. Almost simultaneously, missiles were launched by almost every human military, each one targeted to eliminate areas where the mages had holed up. With this planet conquered, it could finally move on.
