 Chapter 1-Interview

    The heat from the sweltering sun was hitting the city of Reinhart hard much like Mumbai in the other world.


    This heat was particularly hard hitting for Max who was walking to his job interview dressed formally.


    The only reason he was even able to get out of the house in this kind of heat was the fact that in his previous life he was an engineer in India.


    Max walked ahead feeling very nervous knowing that this might be the only chance he has of getting a suitable job.


    As he walked,he reached his destination , a mighty 20 meter tall building in front of him.


    He walked ahead confused as to where to go in the campus that seemed to be built like a maze.


    As he walked trying to figure out where to go he bumped into a man dressed in fine clothes.


    "I am very sorry" said Max


    "It''s ok ,you look confused are you trying to find someplace" said the gentlemen


    "Yes, I am here to interview for the position of teacher in the Mechanical department" said Max


    "Oh , it''s the building straight ahead " said the gentlemen but a slight look of distain could be seen in his eyes


    "Thank you" replied Max


    As soon as Max entered the building he saw that there were only three people and one of them seemed to be the interviewer


    Max was surprised by this, even though he expected that few people will apply for this job (that''s why he even tried), he was surprised by the scene in front of him.


    As soon as the interviewer saw him coming he told Max to take the seat in front of him


    ''What is your name'' asked the interviewer


    ''My name is Maxwell Avery, but you can call me Max'' said Max


    ''Ok, so Max what are your qualification'' asked the interviewer


    ''I have attended the Worker School and have worked in the iron mine for 4 months'' said Max


    ''Ok,so as you know as part of your duties you will instruct the Production Engineering class and will perform maintenance and repair work on regular machines in the university'' said the interviewer


    ''Yes, I am aware'' replied Max


    ''Your pay will be 120 gold coins each year that comes up to 10 gold coins per month'' said the interviewer


    ''So, can you come to work from tomorrow'' asked the interviewer


    ''Yes'' replied Max


    ''Ok then see you tomorrow'' said the interviewer


    ''Ok'' replied Max as he stood up ready to go


    As Max left the building he was surprised how easy it was.Even though in 10 gold coins per month he would just manage to not starve and have a stable life. Well, at least it was a start

    You see Max was not originally from this world he was from Earth and was a engineer in India but unlike other countries engineer was not a glorious job in India,it could even be said that there are more engineers in India than cows, therefore in such an overcrowded market after much searching he had found a job in a small factory as production manager.He was living well until one day when he was walking back from work,he was hit by a truck and he woke up to find that he had transmigrated to another world.


    At first,he thought that he was gonna be like the protagonist in one of those novels, easily revolutionizing the world, become super rich and have a huge harem but life was brutal.Stolen from its rightful place, this narrative is not meant to be on Amazon; report any sightings.


    After he woke up from his fantasies,he found out that he was a son of a worker family, although they couldn''t be called rich they could at least feed themselves and have some savings leftover.


    He was then enrolled into the worker school and completed the normal two year course in 1 year. You would think that this was enough for him to be recognized but no in reality the course was just too easy , it was just basic introduction to all types of tools , their normal everyday usage,everyday economics etc


    While in school he discovered something that rocked him to his very core, it was the fact that this was a magical world, there was all kinds of magic in the world but unlike those novels magic wasn''t powerful to the level that one magician can destroy the country but rather to the level that one of the most powerful magicians if he were to go all out could destroy a neighbourhood


    Even this would be OP if it weren''t for a crucial fact that very few people could practise magic and those who could had a limited amount of magical power


    Therefore magicians were more akin to nobles and performed very specialized and important tasks and common people performed all the daily and non-crucial tasks.


    Unluckily for Max he couldn''t perform magic thus he was enrolled in the worker school


    But then tragedy struck and both of his parents died and he was left all alone


    Even though he was an adult at that time, it still made him feel a little sad since he was starting to think of them more like a family everyday but still at the time he was confident about his ability and his protagonist power.


    So,he started to look for work with big merchant houses and workshops telling ideas that they hadn''t heard till now from the future but in return almost all of them ridiculed him and laughed him off as crazy.


    It was then he realized that all those ideas were from the future and carried a lot of risk, to make them real he would have to develop them himself but at that time the call of hunger was much more urgent to him since he ran out of his parents saving and had no source of income


    So, he looked for any job he could find at first he worked at a farm from where he fired for not meeting his harvest quota then he worked at the mine , where the sheer amount of the labour involved made his bones ache but from there to he was fired for not meeting his daily quota.It was here that one of the worker feeling sorry for him told him about the teaching job at Anatolia University


    From his experience till now,Max realised that he couldn''t do as much manual work as people from this world since he was born in the modern world , so the job of a teacher seemed to be most suited to him.Thus, he went to the interview

    It was night by the time Max returned to his home , by that that Max was so tired that he went straight to his bed still feeling perplexed about how easily he got the job and fell asleep.

 Chapter 2-Start Of The Job

    As max woke up from his sleep,he realised that he was late, since there was no alarm clock on this world people rarely had an accurate estimate of time and worked based of just estimation of time by the sundial.


    After getting ready and having his breakfast, he rushed off to the Anatolia University after all he didn''t wanted to be late for his first class


    As soon as he arrived in the university he reported to the department head of the Mechanical department


    The department head was a large,strong man with short blonde hair and a tan face


    As the department head saw Max coming he said


    ''Hello , are you the Production Engineer reacher''


    ''Yes I am'' replied Max


    ''And who might you be''


    ''Oh forgive me ,my name is Wayland and I serve as this department''s head''


    ''Oh I am sorry , my name is Max and I will be the new teacher''


    ''Ok, so your class will start after two hours, so you should get to know about it first''


    ''Ok'' said Max


    ''There are 30 students in your class , 4 of them are nobles so pay special attention to them.Your course will comprise of Introduction to hammering in which you will go through the basics of blacksmithing like what temperature to forge at, which metals to use etc''


    After explaining to Max his duties, Wayland sat down and said


    ''So, since you will be working under me , let''s get to know each other''


    ''Ok'' replied Max


    After taking to Wayland for 1 and half hours, Max found out a lot of stuff like the fact that Wayland was once a very highly regarded sacred blacksmith in the capital city but after working for so long his eyesight had gone slightly bad and he couldn''t forge at the level of a sacred blacksmith anymore ,so one of his friends referred him for this job


    After that Max , asked the question that was on his mind since Yesterday why did he got this job so easily.


    To this Wayland told him that this was a highly prestigious university but its main source of income was tution fees from its students (as compared to other universities who get royal grants and funds) and the only people who can pay high tuition fees are nobles and rich merchants and they only care about magic.


    Thus, all the noble and rich kids are enrolled in the Magic department and it gets most of the university''s funding , you know even its lowest ladder teacher makes more than me a department head.


    But after the competition in trade due to relaxation of tension and regulation with the eastern continent more and more merchant houses are concerned about efficiency to stay competitive in the market thus they generally send some children who have no chance of succeeding the house , to the university to learn about the basics of business like how there goods are made , so they can be useful in the futureUnauthorized use: this story is on Amazon without permission from the author.     But,you see they don''t want to invest much in these children thus they pay very low fees, thus the salary of the teacher is accordingly low but even a regular blacksmith makes at least 30 gold coins a month outside thus no one would come here to teach for 10 gold coins per month


    Therefore you were the only one who had applied who had attended worker school at least. Thus, you got the job


    After hearing this Max was both surprised and understood, after all if it wasn''t for his physique he would have also been a regular blacksmith earning three times as now


    But what most surprised him was the other thing that Wayland had said , he couldn''t understand it at all , what was the eastern empire , relaxation of regulation. It seemed that he knew nothing about this world


    After all it made sense since he attended only worker school and they only thought him basics about his profession and he couldn''t ask anything else this either. It seemed that Max would have to go to the library after the class to pick up some common knowledge


    As he walked into the class he saw that the class was still empty, it seemed he had arrived early


    After taking his seat he started preparing his notes for his lecture


    After some time the students started coming in the class and soon the class was full


    It was afternoon by the time he left the university , the class had gone fine , the students seemed fine but one of them caught his attention he was dressed in a very torn down robe and his materials didn''t seemed new either.It seemed that he had some difficult circumstances but he seemed to pay attention so Max moved on


    After his class he had gone to the library and borrowed some books like history of the western continent and some other history books to acquire some common knowledge

    Few days passed like this with Max on his regular schedule.From home to university and university to home. It was the time for Max to collect his payment for the first week 2 gold and 50 silver coins


    As Wayland and Max were sitting in Wayland''s office awaiting for their salary. Wayland suddenly said


    ''It''s been way too hot recently''


    ''Yes,some people say that is because the foresters have been cutting more and more woods''


    ''I wish we were like magicians then we could cast wind magic and get rid of this heat''


    ''Yeah , only if we could, said Max


    Then suddenly he was struck with an idea, how about making a fan


    When he arrived home , he started giving his thoughts some real ideas . At first he was perplexed by the idea of making a fan without electricity but then he started thinking of when his mother would


    told him about her childhood days when there was no electricity in her village and how they would use a hand crank fan


    Max started giving it a thought and then started drawing the models for it


    When Max woke up the next day his heart was beating fast and he was very excited


    As he walked towards the university he couldn''t help but feel more and more nervous undecided at the same time


    As Mac entered Wayland''s office he said to Wayland


    ''Wayland, you were a sacred blacksmith in the capital right''


    ''Yes'' replied Wayland


    ''But you haven''t forged for so long how do you know your skills are still at that level'' said Max


    ''Hey , I will let you know that my skills are just as sharp as ever and if it wasn''t for my damm eye I


    would still have my sacred blacksmith rank''


    ''Ok then can you do me a small favour , I need some small parts forged for me can you do it''


    ''Yes , I can'' replied Wayland, feeling as to somehow he had been tricked


    Max then handed Wayland the design he had drawn last night for the blade, the crank and the shaft


    ''The design seems simple and the weight should be no more than 1 kg , including all the cost it


    should not cost you more than 50 silver''


    Max handed Wayland 50 silvers


    ''Ok , I will have it ready for you by tomorrow''


    ''Ok'' replied Max


    Two days had passed since then and Max had collected all the parts from Wayland and assembled


    them in his home into a functional fan.

 Chapter 3-Fan In The Fantasy World

    It was hot outside when students started coming in the class for their lecture . Although the lecture wasn''t that boring the sheer heat made it impossible to focus on studying


    The most unbearable fact was that it was just them the students of production class who were suffering while every magic class had cooling magic array installed so they wouldn''t had to bear the heat


    As the students walked into the classroom they saw a strange metal object in the table of the teacher


    It wasn''t like anything that any of them had seen before in their life


    As soon as they sat down Max started the lecture . After some time when Max told the students to copy what he had written. He sat on his table and started the fan by rotating the crank


    As soon he started rotating the crank a cool breeze of air started flowing from the farm


    As soon as the air collected with sweat on his body, Max started feeling cool and gradually the heat could be felt lessening


    As the air gradually moved the students, they were so shocked by this that started making a commotion and gathered around Max''s desk


    ''Teacher what is that'' one of the kid asked


    ''This is a fan that I made for cooling.


    What are you all doing go back to your seats'' Max said to the children


    At first they were overwhelmed by their fascination but soon they calmed down and got back to their seats. Still the fascination in their heart was not quelled and they started asking Max all sorts of questions


    Max tried answering their questions one by one. Even he was surprised at how much curiosity the kids had towards the fan


    It reminded him of the days when he was an engineering student and the teacher did practical experiments


    Suddenly one kid asked '' Teacher how much are you willing to sell this thing for''


    Max was surprised by this , even he had some thoughts of selling the fans and earning money but he didn''t expect that his first customers would be his own students but after all they all belonged to merchant families so it seemed that trade was in their blood


    ''Why what do you need it for'' asked Max

    ''Ok , sold . Meet me after the class with 2 gold coins and this fan is yours'' said Max


    Suddenly a shout came from the back ''Teacher I also want one''


    ''I also want one''


    Suddenly a lot of kids started shouting


    ''Well , I only have this one piece'' said Max


    ''It''s not fair , I also want one'' yelled another kid


    ''Yeah , lets have an auction.The highest bid wins'' yelled another kid


    ''No, its not fair , I already bought it its mine '' said the first kid


    Then a lot of kids started arguing


    Max hadn''t anticipated this response but if he could use it well he could earn himself a nice little profit


    ''Ok , calm down, we will do it like this everyone who wants to buy the a fan will pay an advance deposit of 1 gold and the rest when I will give you the fan 8 days later''


    ''Ok, then , but what about this one'' one of the kids yelled pointing at the fan


    ''I will keep it for my personal use'' said Max


    After the class 20 kids paid him the deposit and the rest seemed to be thinking of ways of collecting the money somehow


    After the class Max went to Wayland''s Office and asked him to make 20 more pieces of the fan parts


    Wayland was surprised by it


    '' Why do you need that many more parts did the one I made broke already'' said Wayland


    ''No, they are fine but '' and then Max told Wayland all the details about what had happened in his class


    At first Wayland was surprised by the fan but then after using it he was surprised by it, such a simple design could have such effectiveness . But after that he said


    '' Well Max the thing is making one was fine by me but making 20 all by myself is a bit too much, why don''t I have it made by a friend of mine who runs a blacksmith workshop''


    ''Well , what do you think it will cost me'' asked Max


    ''Thinking about it Mayland replied about 70 silver coins per piece and he should have it ready in five days '' said Mayland


    ''Ok then, but tell him that I will pick it up in batches of two , first in four days and the other in the next four days, then pieces each time'' said Max


    This was because he realized that he didn''t had enough money to pay for them . He had collected advance from the students at estimating the cost at 50 silver coins but maybe it was too presumptuous of him since the first was a favor from Wayland and he must have only charged him for the raw materials, this left a good impression of Wayland in Max''s mind. But in the future he would have to be careful about professional and personal relationship between them


    ''Ok , this is the address at which you can pick the parts four days later '' said Wayland giving him the address of the blacksmith''s workshop


    After this 10 days had passed , Max had delivered all the fans to the students and received the balance payment from them. Also, 5 more students had given him new order during this time which he had promptly delivered to them

    As Max sat in his desk in his home he calculated that he had earned 32 gold and 50 silver coins from this deal


    He soon started pondering whether he could do this full time and finally make a good life for himself


    This would need more calculation but at least for now he had a little spare money in his pocket
