《Random Fiction Writing #1》 Chapter 1 The soft wind hits my face. The breeze is subtle, yet surprising. I smell salt in the air, seagulls flying in flocks, looking for food. The ocean pounds the distant rocks off the shore, like a never ending assault. The crashing waves are soothing to me. I inhale deeply, and slowly release the air swirling inside me, its calming. I put one foot out in above the ocean. My eyes are closed. I¡¯m about to lean forward and fall when I hear a familiar voice. ¡°Wait!¡± The mysterious voice cried out. I slowly open my eyes, as if i¡¯m waking up from a coma. The air went cold, and sharp like a razer slicing through me. I turn around slowly, careful not to lose my balance on the slippery rocks. Tears are rolling down this woman¡¯s face. Her red hair glistens in the tender moonlight. ¡°Why?¡± I retort. She is quiet, only for a moment. The rocks are still clashing in the distance, as if the tension has caused the sea to be irritated. ¡°Because¡ Ending your life here won¡¯t solve all the issues in the world. No matter what happens, your life is precious, and ending it now wouldn¡¯t do a thing for anyone.¡± Her words are sting, as if the salt was embedded into her lungs. Right now, life seems pointless. All life has given me is pain, and suffering. ¡°What happened to changing the world for the good?¡± The words sting. I try everyday to make sure that I am a symbol of hope. Without hope, the world would end up like me. I pushed myself past my limit, more than I could handle. I inhale again, hoping words would roll into my head, loading my brain with a sort of film, answers for these hard questions i¡¯m being asked. ¡°You aren¡¯t gone, not yet. No matter what that bullshit mentor tells you. I believe there is still a good side to you.¡± Thunder, and Lightning flash and crackle behind me. The moon is now being overrun by dark storm clouds. The scene instantly went from calming to destructive. ¡°You have to control it, you heard what the sage said, There are two paths for this prophecy, and only you can decide what happens from here.¡± The woman with the red hair starts vanishing. I know she¡¯s right, but just ending my life would be simpler than letting the world fall to chaos because of me. I blink, and in an instant she is gone. I start crying heavily, the thunder and lighting continue to berate the see with each strike. I sit here for awhile, just letting the wind pelt me, eventually the clouds clear. This book was originally published on Royal Road. Check it out there for the real experience.
