《The Last Nightmare Dragon》 Prologue. Kytes Release Near the village of Azgoth A nearby farmer was out working in the field when he started to feel the ground start to shift. Without thinking he dropped everything he was doing to go find his wife and take shelter. Earthquakes are a common occurence in the Poy kingdom, due to all the magical essence that interacts here. As soon as he got to his house he new something was wrong, the sheer magnitude of this quake was far bigger than any he ever experienced in his whole lifetime. Grimacing as he tripped over a fallen chair he rushed down to his cellar to find his wife already waiting there for him huddled in a corner. After closing the door he and his wife huddled together to wait it out like they normally do. After close to 5 minutes of constant shaking it finally ended. After waiting antoher 10 more minutes after that, he finally managed to get enough courage to peak outside at the damage. What he saw truly horrified him, his field that had been growing potatoes was gone, replaced by a seemingly empty void. Looking down he could not see the bottom, but he could feel the fierce coldness that bit at his face. Retreating back into his house he pulled out a coat that he usually only wears in the winter. Looking around the edges of the chasm he found a winding path that lead down. Following the path down, he created a small ball of light. He did not have enough magical abilities to do combat, but he was able to continously keep this orb up. Lighting up the darkness, he finally found the bottom. When he reached the bottom however, he was utterly flabergasted. When he turned to his left he was looking straight into the eyes of a frozen reptilian. Never before seeing this creature, and thanking god that he did not see this creature when it was alive. It looked like a ball of black muscle that could easily overpower anyone his size. Looking at it again this creature only seemed around 3 meters in length and around 2 meters in height. Noticing that this was just a juvenile made him rejoice again because he could not imagine what this creature would look like as an adult.Ensure your favorite authors get the support they deserve. Utter terror filled his eyes when he slowly turned around and prayed that the noise he hear was not from the ice that beast was in. Sure enoguh when he turned around he saw a paw extend out of the ice and down onto the ground, followed by the rest of the body. The creature glared up at the poor little farmer and blasted out a deafening roar. Kytes POV Holy Shit that was long, how long was I in there for? Stretching out my muscles for once in however many years its been felt amazing. Feeling almost every single bone in my body cracked made me shudder with bliss. Looking up, I managed to spot what I think was a human, just for fun I let out a loud roar that probably scared him half to death. Yep, he just passed out. Humans and their fraile little bodies. After so long in the ice Kyte checked out his stats again just to see if anything changed. Name: Kyte Race: Nightmare Dragon Level: 12 Titles: The Last One HP: 250 MP: 0 Looking at his stats he noticed that he now had a title and he almost instantly knew what it meant. He indeed was the last of his race, he had been suspecting this because they had been targeted in the race war however many years ago it was, but now it was confirmed. Just reading it made his heart throb, everyone of his family all gone just like that. He also noticed that the Nightmare dragons not having mana was true, he had been hoping to be able to use magic, but it was just shot down. Nightmare dragons are physically stronger than any other dragon out there, so to balnce it out they had no mana whatsoever. Feeling his stomach trying to eats it was out, he determined that it was finally time to get something to eat. He unferled his wings and darted up at the past out human. Chapter 1. Stuff from Nightmares Upon reaching the already knocked out farmer, it was easy for me to devour him in only two bites. It was quick and it didn''t fill Kyte up at all. Thinking back to before the great war, that was named, "The Calamity," he remembered how he almost never had to hunt because almost all of the food he got was from Elves giving tributes to his parents. Now however, he had nobody that was lining up to give him food, and the reason? Nobody even knew he existed, well short for a female farmer that is not going to be in this world for long. Ravaging through the entire herds of livestock and even killing some lower level monsters after he was done to fill his ravenous belly. Surprisingly after he ate almost everything around him in a kilometer radius he finally settled down for a little slumber. Juvenile dragons require a lot more sleep than adolescent or even adult dragon simply because they are constantly growing and improving themselves. Especially so for Nightmare Dragons, since they are more physically attributed, they require more amounts of sleep and food than other dragons in the juvenile age group. The body of Kyte consists of black scales that have hints of purple radiating through them. If anyone found a single scale of this dragon it would surely fetch a hefty price due to its unprecidented beauty. 14 Days Later Awakening from his "short" slumber Kyte stood up and slowly stretched out his body only to feel it a little different, not much, but still different. He noticed his muscles bulged more when he walked and he also noticed his eye level was about a half a meter higher than what he last remembered. Also moving his tail he wound that it tore into the ground, curious he lifted it up to see his tip of his tail was now covered in black spikes that started up by the back of his neck.Unauthorized duplication: this narrative has been taken without consent. Report sightings. Spreading out his wings he found that his wingspan was now around 7 meters long. Batting his wings up and down he started to lift off the ground, flying upwards. Testing out his limits he figured out that he could only get about 30-40 meters off the ground before he started to fall, and fall he did. Smashing into the ground so hard that it even dazed Kyte and left a hefty crater where he now lays. Stumbling out and reminding himself never to do that again he set to the skies, but made sure he only few about 20 meters high so he didn''t risk falling again. Flying over the grassland that the farm was located on he found a small village come into sight on the horizon, and after a 14 day-long sleep he needed something to snack on. Flying evermore closer to the village, with his advanced hearing, he could already here scared shouts and alarm bells going off. Picking up his speed, Kyte flew directly into the middle of the village and landed thunderously and filled the courtyard with smoke. Villager POV "Hey have you heard from Jared recently?" "Nope, i don''t think anybody has. I think they are sending out a search party tomorrow to go out to his farm and see if anything is wrong." "Well I just hope nothing bad happ-" Just before I could finish my sentence a loud ear piercing bell rang out. Ding. Ding. Ding. Flinching from the noise and holding my head to try and cover my hears, I turned to see something black heading straight towards the village. Dread instantly filled my heart, just the sheer speed that it was flying was outright terrifying. It almost flew directly overtop of me, but just as it was about to it seemed to slow and come to a stop about 20 meters away from me. It plummeted straight down and hit the ground causing it to shake momentarily. That wasn''t the scariest part however, when the dust started to recede and I was able to get a glimpse of what it was I felt my entire being start to yell danger. And looking at its head I saw its piercing gaze directed solely at me!
