《Tribular》 Prologue + Chapter 1 The world isn¡¯t like it used to be anymore. No there was no apocalypse but the environment is no longer supportive of human life. Disregard of global warming and the use of fuels as an energy source cause a massive fluctuation in the atmosphere. The oxygen in the air was now pretty much nonexistent. Many of the species that inhabited Earth died off and those that didn¡¯t went through a massive evolution. The most prevalent species now was the insects. They grew to titanic sizes and quickly claimed the planet as their own. Now the humans did survive but their way of life drastically changed. At first seventy five percent of the population died from asphyxiation or were just eaten by various insects. After this the remaining vestiges of humanity banded together in large metal cities that were covered in a half circle metal wall that covered their houses as well. In essence the humans went under ground. The main source of food was grown indoors under UV lights. They supplied themselves with oxygen by having algae farms all throughout their cities. Water was in abundance as well. Through advanced filtering techniques they were able to filter the toxic waters that they had created. Sadly this also affected the birth rate in the human population. It was now extremely hard to conceive a child but they managed. The birth rate was high enough to supplement the race so that they were no longer in a decline but it was still a precarious situation. On the bright side technology boomed from all of this. Everything was now automated. The crops were taken care of by robots and the water was monitored by a computer. Every house had a robot butler that made food and scheduled regular visits to the doctor or dentist. Honestly it became a utopia. Energy also became a thing of the past. Fusion technology was perfected long before the Earth went to shit. Now every city had a large fusion reactor and had no worry about being in the dark and dying off completely. Since humans no longer had to worry about work or food the entertainment side of things grew rapidly as well. This also became the way to make a living. This was also the best way for humanity to escape the disparity of life in a confined area. The governments had collapsed from the change so the richest people on earth now controlled humanity and the cities they lived in. Now because these people thrived on wealth all they cared about was money and living a peaceful life. This ended war and disease for humanity. Those in control realised that having healthy and happy people produced the best results in advancing the cities. In the end they decided that to make sure the people were happy they needed to make sure that no one was able to start off in a better position than anyone else. This made gaming a very lucrative and enjoyable event for all since it was only on the individual to prosper. The engineers of the gaming side devised a way to take any and all ideas in games and make them into reality, with the exception of magic and fantasy of course. This in turn made the advancement of science to skyrocket. Eventually they reached a peak though. No more advancements could be made and every component that could break down would be changed before it was even noticed. This led to gaming currency to be the only form of wealth. Your in game account would be linked to a digital bank that would let you buy more furniture or other random things in the real world or IRL. No one needed to buy anything extra so most saved what they had and stayed in game. Now gaming took place in virtual reality and many genres were available to all. It ranged all the way from fantasy to space travel. These virtual pods had a gel based platform inside that would melt once you entered and fully surround you. Inside this gel was nanobots that took out waste from your body and fed you all the vitamins and minerals that you needed to survive. Because of this you could actually stay in game indefinitely if you wanted to. Of course this became a problem in advancing the human species. Too many people wanted to stay in the game and never see IRL again. Thus an incentive was made for those that had one or no children. The incentive was a large sum of ingame currency so that you would leave the capsule and have children. Most people found a partner in game for this but others had little to no drive to make that sort of connection. This led to a single game be created that was in essence a dating simulator. You would go into that game find someone you connected with and then leave and meet IRL. An age requirement was created for this so that anyone who reached eighteen years old would go and have a child. This worked well at first but as humanity often shows us it also went bad. One group of parents went back into gaming and left their newborn out and alone. Thankfully the child was found by a robot worker quickly so the child did not die. However the parents were promptly executed for their negligence. Now it was required to stay with your child until they became five years old. At that time the child was inducted into virtual reality and they got an education on their past. Often times the child would chose to join their parents in game so that they were not alone in the world. Other children joined a game on their own and would try to live life as they wanted. Chapter 1 The year is 2198 and I am about to join a new game. My name used to be John but i have decided to give that up. I am twenty years old and alone. It wasn¡¯t always like this. I used to have parent but they both died yesterday. They had a heart attack. Simple but deadly. You¡¯d think with our technology nowadays we would have fixed that issue. I was in the game Terra with them when it happened. Terra is a space adventure game and we were in our own little ship that was easily piloted by three people. I remember looking over to my dad as we flew past a new sun that had yet to be named. He looked to me and said. ¡°What should we name it son?¡± Before I could answer him he faded out of the game. I looked to my mother and she was gone as well. I quickly pulled out their contact info to see if they were off line. All I saw was nothing. I couldn''t find them anywhere. It was as if they no longer existed. I log off and feel the gel in my capsule slough off of me. I laid there waiting for the capsule to open. When it finally does I jump out and run to the room next to me. Inside that room I saw two capsules sitting wide open. In either one I saw the faces of my parents lying there. Both were very peaceful but at the same time they were very dead. Fast forward a little and here I am. Sitting at their funeral. The policy of the city was to cremate the remains. It added nutrients to the soil and helped the crops grow. As there bodies burned I said my last goodbyes. I inherited their house. We were lucky, if I''m being honest. Most lived in apartments but my family was able to save enough to buy a place outright. Although we were a ways out from the center of the city it was still luxurious. It was a two story three bedroom with the whole bottom level open. It had a nice kitchen and the latest robotic butler. My parents and I went by our in game name. I won''t put theirs down and mine doesn''t matter anymore. I needed a new life. A new name. I was going to get married to the woman that had my children but she is crazy. So that didn''t work out. We had a boy and a girl. They visit me from time to time. I figure I''ll send them my name in my new life so they can''t stop by if they want. I sat down on a couch in the living room on the bottom floor of my parent, no, my house and turn on the tv. It''s been awhile since a new game had come out so I figure there might be some sort of news out. As I scrolled through the channels I saw hundreds of people playing and streaming their game. I laugh a little at myself. Game operate at a time ration of 1:10 so one hour in game is ten IRL. So if I wanted to watch someone in game and I watched for a year straight then they would be ten years ahead of me. I always thought that our society is crazy in that sense. Thanks to medical advancements I could live till I was about three hundred and fifty. That''s thousands of years game time. As I keep flipping through the channels I finally come to the ¡°News¡±. It was all game updates. As I wait for the add to end and get back to the main programming my butler comes in with a big bowl of cheesy potatoes with what looks like bacon in it. Now it''s not bacon but a vegetable substitute. Still good though. Finally the news comes back on. ¡°Alright! Now what you''ve all been waiting for! The new game this decade is a good one! It sports a fully functional AI that profiles each player. This profiling can give you bonus stats based on your performance. It will also go off of your body type so that your character looks exactly like you do, well for the most part. Hahahaha.¡± A news man said. I tried listening to the rest of what he said but his great big mustache was way too distracting. The only thing I got was the name, Tribular. Odd name but who cares! It opened in thirty minutes. I quickly look up the stats to see the basics of the game. Now the only real info you get from a game nowadays is basic stat info. Since the game is a literal universe in itself things are changing constantly. The only constant thing is the base stats and how they work. I¡¯ve actually seen the leveling system change randomly. Anyways this is what I found. Primary Atts. STR(Strength) Every point increases carry weight by one pound and increases attack by one, Every ten points increases the amount of attack gained by one. CONS(Constitution) Every point increases Health by 10 and increases Defence by 1, increases regen by .1 per second Every ten points increases the amount of regen gained by .1. DEX(Dexterity) Every point increases Endurance by 10, increases regen by .1 per second Every ten points increases the amount of regen gained by .1. CHA(Charisma) Every point increases the way others view at you, Every 10 points increases the chance of favorable actions towards you by 1 %. INT(Intelligence) Every point increases Mana pool by 10, Also allows for easier learning, Every 10 points increases EXP gained by 5%. WIS(Wisdom) Every point increases Mana Regen by .1 per second, Every ten points increases the amount of regen gained by .1. Level is determined by EXP(Experience) to gain a level EXP gained must be current level x10 Secondary Atts. Health Represented as HP. Health Regen Mana Represented as MP Mana Regen Endurance Represented as END Endurance Regen Attack-Weapons add their damage to the base attack. All attack is calculated and represented as a whole. Defense-Defense is subtracted from attack received and remaining value is taken as damage, Armor defense is added. Special Att Luck-This increases chance encounters and loot drops, also affects chance at a critical hit, every point increases crit chance by 1% with a Max of 99, Can not be increased with stat points. Races Dwarf-Small mountain people that get a bonus in all things crafting, very secluded. Human-Stereo typical Human that has no benefits or setbacks. Elf-Elves are a knowledge base community that excel in magic and learning. High Elf-The nobility of all elves that specialize in holy magic. Dark Elf-The black sheep of the elven family that specialize in dark magic. Wood Elf-Nomadic elves that specialize in healing and nature magic. Orc-Brutal fighters that thirst for battle. Beastkin-Nomadic tribesmen that are often looked down upon, their beast half increases their attributes IE Bear types get more strength and constitution, cat types get more dexterity and so on. Giant-Not as large as some would think with a max height of 15 feet. Strong and actually quite smart, also a very combat oriented race. Mixed race-This is a toss up. You can not chose the races that you are mixed with so all benefits are random. Gods Zedd-God of the Light and War. Morgana-Goddess of the Dark and Beauty. Bob-God of luck and all encounters. Skills are earned by actions and can be influenced by ability outside of the game. All skills are directly relatable to outside the game as well. Huh it will actually improve my abilities IRL? That¡¯s pretty awesome. I checked the clock ad saw that I had about 15 minutes until the game launched. I get up off the couch and make myself a nice sandwich. Word of the wise, never start a VR game without eating something first. The food in the beginning is terrible because you have no money and are just beginning. With that out of the way I go up to my room and hop in my capsule. I feel the gel start to melt after I closed the lid. It slowly started to envelop me but before it covered my mouth my vision went black. Less than a second later I was in a room. This was my personal hub. All around the ten foot by ten foot room were doors to different games that I played. There were a total of eight doors but one was blank. The blank one was Tribular, normally a door would stay blank and have no door knob on it so you couldn¡¯t access the game until it launched. I looked at the time, 2 minutes left. In the middle of the room was a chair, room wasn¡¯t that big and I wasn¡¯t in here all that often. So I pop a squat and wait. Luckily I didn¡¯t have to wait long till the door changed. It was all black with a tai chi symbol for a door knob. The symbol was made up of the four elements. I walk over to it and twist the knob. I saw lights flash by me as I was transported to the main screen.
Welcome to Tribular! A world of fantasy and action awaits you! Or not if you don¡¯t like action. Either way have fun!
Well that¡¯s an odd welcoming. A couple options were available to me, well one really and that was to create a new character. I select it and next thing I know I¡¯m sitting before a very businesslike man. He was decked out in a full tux and was looking at some papers in front of him. ¡°Hello!¡± He greeted me without looking up. ¡°So as of now you are the only one to join the game. I would like to introduce myself. I am AX13384219934765310D, you can call me Alex. I am the Ai in charge. Have you looked at the info that was put out?¡± I nod my head in affirmation. ¡°Good! Well then let''s get some basic tests out of the way first. These will just be to gauge how your gaming character should be aligned. We have already done a full body scan so that your main appearance will stay the same.¡± He said casually. ¡°Uhm. Ok.¡± Was all I could really muster at this point. ¡°Now! You see a damsel in distress! She is being attacked by a pack of vicious rats. What do you do?¡± ¡°Try to save her while killing all the rats. EXP is always good.¡± I answer. ¡°Hmm. yes, yes. Very good! Now next scenario. You see a child in the street being beaten by a corrupt noble. Now before you answer you need to know that you will have to kill all of the nobles men if you intervene.¡± ¡°Who cares. It¡¯s a child. They should always be protected.¡± ¡°Great! Well that¡¯s it!¡± He said joyfully. ¡°But I thought..¡± I start to say.A case of theft: this story is not rightfully on Amazon; if you spot it, report the violation. ¡°No please. Don¡¯t think. Better for everyone involved.¡± He cuts me off. Well he''s a bit of an ass. ¡°On to character creation! Now you know the choices so please chose one from the list in front of you.¡± As he finishes I see a list of races pop up before me. Each race shows me what I would look like if I chose it. I scroll all the way to the bottom and chose mixed race. Never been a fan of one singular race. ¡°Oh a risk taker huh?¡± He laughs. Alex stands up and the room we were in changes from a typical job interview scenario to a roulette table. Each tile had combinations on it. Out of nowhere Alex hands me a metal ball to toss in. I casually toss it in and watch it start to go round and round. After about a minute the wheel starts to slow down. Once it stops the ball can be seen going round and round the outside. As it starts to slow down I forget to breath as it starts to hit the barriers between the tiles. It jumps around a couple of time before landing on the half dwarf and half giant tile. ¡°Huh. Hey you ever wonder how that would work? Like was the dad a giant? Cuz if so he had to be like really small in the um¡ male department. Oh and if the mom was a giant then the dwarf had to have been HUGE!!! I¡¯m talkin tripod here! Hahahaha!¡± Alex asked. I must say that this AI is nuts. ¡°I don¡¯t really want to know¡¡± I replied. ¡°Oh well. Look over your character and adjust your muscle mass and height. Then let¡¯s be done with this! I want to watch you as you play. Since you are the only player still I can give you my full attention.¡± Ok. Not sure how I feel about him watching me constantly but oh well. I select customize on the screen that appeared before me. What I saw was a hulking monster of a man. My basic features were there. Startlingly blue eyes with a strong chin and strong brow. I had high cheek bones that were on the verge of being prominent. The height bar was set in the middle but it was still seven feet tall. Honestly I wanted to be a tad bit taller so I started moving the slider up. I ended up almost at max and was at a solid eight feet. Next was muscle size. I always liked being the strong type of person in fantasy games so I maxed that out. The shoulders were probably about three feet wide and every muscle was bulging under my skin. I noticed that my hands and feet looked like they could crush a horse if I felt like it. Sadly I couldn¡¯t change the size on them. After that I went onto hair and made myself have a nice buzz cut with about two inches of hair on top. I also gave myself a respectable beard that was a solid foot long with two braids going down the sides. All in all I was literally a giant dwarf. ¡°All done.¡± I told Alex. ¡°Great! Now if you make the right choices you will look exactly like the character you just made! Good luck and have fun!¡± He said right as he spartan kicked me in the chest. I tried to scream as I plummeted downwards but no sound escaped my mouth. At first all I could see was darkness but then light started to emerge. Then I passed through clouds. I was falling faster than I could comprehend so I wasn¡¯t able to get many details. The next moment I slammed into something. That something was my body. I was now fully merged with my body but I could sense something was off. I tried to look around but I couldn¡¯t move. It wasn¡¯t until I saw a huge woman loom over me that made everything click into place. I was a baby. I had to start this game as a fucking child and grow up normally! The behemoth of a woman started talking but I couldn¡¯t understand anything. I tried to let her know but since I was a baby all that came out was a wail. A concerned look crossed her face before she picked me up in her mammoth hands and pulled me towards her chest. I could only stare on in horror as she pulled out a breast that had to be larger than a volkswagen car from the old days. As my face was pressed against the nipple, much to my dismay. I barely got the thing in my mouth. I knew that I needed to eat so is sucked just a little bit. Unfortunately her milk flooded my mouth. It had to have been a gallons worth! I started choking immediately. She pulled me away and started patting my back as I coughed and sputtered. I finally cleared my lungs out and realized that I felt as if I had gained a pound. With a full belly I promptly shat myself and went to sleep. I got one little bit of satisfaction as I saw her nose scrunch up in disgust from the smell before I passed out. My days went by in a blur. All I did was eat sleep and shit. It wasn¡¯t until my third birthday that I met my father. He was a dwarf, obviously. The only reason I knew he was my father was because he told me so. By the time I was five I was so bored with this game that I was about to just quit. I literally did nothing but play around and be a child. I did learn my mother and father''s backstory though. So my mom and dad used to be adventurers but they weren¡¯t in the same group or anything. It was the exact opposite actually. Both of them were in rival parties that always competed with each other. One day both parties took the same quest. The quest was to kill a corrupt politician that had defected. Well while they were on the mission they got overwhelmed and all but my father and mother were killed. Mom and Dad ran away never to look back. sad ly the quest had to be completed otherwise they could never come back. They decided that the quest wasn¡¯t worth it and hid out in a forest. Eventually they came to love each other and well when a man loves a woman things happen. Next was me being born. Back to the present time of meeting my dad, finally, he decided that it was time to find out my aptitude at fighting. However I needed to train first. ¡°Hello son. Today is your big day huh? Big ol five. Yea i know that this is awkward¡ sorry about that. Anyways let¡¯s get started. Being your dad I need to show you about the world and how it works. First is that we all have a status page that can only be accessed once you are five.¡± ¡°Now this may not make any sense at first but really it is good for everyone. You see once you get access to the status page you then have access to modifying it after you level up and get quests. Now imagine a newborn leveling up. Soon he¡¯d be able to lift a table when he can¡¯t even walk.¡± ¡°Anyways. Go ahead and open up your status. You will see your base numbers and you can even show them to me if you want. Don¡¯t just show everyone though. Keep that stuff secret.¡± I pull up my status menu.
Name- Odin Race-Mixed Half Dwarf Half Giant

I show my dad my stats as well. ¡°Well Odin! Those are some pretty good base stats! Now normally everything is a base 5 but being half dwarf and half giant gave you an extra four in those three. Now we need to train you. Your stat page will update the more you train. You can get titles and classes. You can even get professions if you want. That would be blacksmithing and other things that help you earn coin.¡± My dad said. ¡°Ok so first thing first is deciding on the path you want to go down. But first I have to try something. You see there are a rare breed of people out there that learn skills just by seeing them. Anything from a fireball to cooking a fish. We call these people Blue Mages. It¡¯s a simple test, all you need to do is watch me do something and see if you learn it.¡± He explained. ¡°Um why dad? Wouldn¡¯t my status page just tell me?¡± I asked. Honestly it made no sense to have such a cheat character in a game. As I was thinking this Alex messaged me. [Yes it you Odin. However there will always be a cheat character in every game. That is why I added this. First was because I LOVE D&D. Second was because this eliminated all other cheat characters and allowed me to keep the stat OP characters out of the game. Made it balanced. Also this is COMPLETELY random. So who knows if you get it. Chao Alex.] Well that cleared that part up. Still don¡¯t know why we HAVE to try it though. ¡°Son the reason is because of the damage that can be caused by someone who doesn''t know they are a blue mage. One girl managed to learn Meteor and leveled a country. Now no more talking. Let¡¯s do this.¡± With that we walk out to the front yard. As I am walking around, for the first time I might add, I start looking at all the trees around me. Sadly I didn¡¯t get a skill like identify but oh well. Dad stops about forty feet from the house and instructs me to stop by him and watch. ¡°Now watch closely son. I am going to make a fireball. If you are a blue mage you will get a notification, we just call them windows, saying that you learned the spell fireball. Now sometimes it takes a couple times to learn it otherwise you won¡¯t learn it at all.¡± He said. He squared his feet and prepared to cast fireball. As soon as he did a window popped up.
You have learned Mana Manipulation! Mana Manipulation is a passive skill that allows you to move Mana in any way you see fit. As it goes up in level you will gain a percentage increase in ease of manipulation.
I decide to wait and watch my dad. More skills means being a better character. I already know now that I am a blue mage so what does it hurt? With a huff my dad casts fireball. It was huge, at least a foot across and hot as hell. He cast it at a tree and it instantly went up in flames.
You have learned Voiceless Casting! Voiceless Casting is a passive skill that allows you to move cast without a chant. No level as it is at max level from the start. Many go decades without learning this amazing ability so feel good about your luck!
You have learned Fireball! Fireball is the perfect spell to burn your enemies or cook your food. As an active skill you must decide to use the skill before it can be activated by saying Fireball, or if you are a cheat, you can simply think it. Base attack is 10 with an additional 10 for every 10 levels and Mana cost is 20. Skill changes the higher level you get.
¡°Alright son. I will do it a couple more times for you just to make sure.¡± Dad says. I stop him before he can start. ¡°No need dad. Here. Look at my stats.¡± I show him my stat page and laugh as his eyes pop open.
Active skills Passive skills
Fireball. Level 1. Attack 10. Cost 20. Mana Manipulation. Level 1: 1% easier to manipulate Mana.
Voiceless Casting. Max Level.
Hahahahahahaha! Bow before my awesomeness! ¡°How? How did you learn Mana Manipulation and Voiceless Cast? Oh shit I did do that didn¡¯t I?¡± He turns to me completely flabbergasted. ¡°You know that a Blue Mage hasn¡¯t been seen in centuries right? No of course you don¡¯t. You¡¯re only five afterall. Shit. you have so much potential as a mage son. We need to get you out learning all the spells you can and increase your intelligence¡¡± He starts mumbling to himself. I interrupt his thoughts before he could go really overboard. ¡°Dad. I also want to learn how to fight with a sword as well. I don¡¯t want to be just a mage. I want to be more.¡± ¡°Really?¡± He asked as his eyes lit up even more. ¡°Yea. how else am I supposed to defend against an assassin or something?¡± I reply. ¡°How do you know about assassin''s?¡± He asked with a troubled look on his face. ¡°Don¡¯t worry about it!¡± I laugh as I try to wave it off. He grumbles slightly but decides to not push any further. ¡°Anyways! Dad lets focus on training!¡± I try to get him going so he doesn¡¯t think too hard about the assassin comment. ¡°Yea. Ok well what type of fighter do you want to be? You have three options for a starter. First is Warrior. It¡¯s your all around fighter that branches off the higher you get. Then there is Scout that deals with long range attacks. The last is the Rogue type. This one is tailored towards combat with knives and picking pockets. Well that¡¯s the beginning three. What will it be? Normally you would have Mage as well but you are already a Blue Mage.¡± Dad told me. This is a big decision. I used to be a long range attacker so that is out the window. New life after all, so new decisions. Now either Rouge or Warrior. I don¡¯t think I can be too sneaky with my size so really I only have one option. I have no idea why I even thought about it. ¡°I will go with Warrior Dad.¡± ¡°Good. After all no respecting Dwarf or Giant would chose anything but that. Now first order of business is to run! Follow me!¡± With that my dad set of sprinting through the forest. I followed close behind thanks to my long legs. I was already taller than him due to my Giant heritage. After a solid five minutes I was too tired to go on. I started to fall behind. As soon as I did my Dad started to yell at me. ¡°Keep it up ya large Goblin! Push until you can¡¯t and then push some more! We''re gonna do this for an hour so you are far from done. Now MOVE!¡± I willed my legs to continue. Windows came but i waved them off so I could focus on running. I hit my limit ten times in that run and broke through each of them! I felt amazing! However i also felt like I was gonna die! My END was empty. After we had stopped I collapsed to the ground and tried to catch my breath. It wasn¡¯t until my END came up to half that I felt better. ¡°That was terribly Dad.¡± I said as I propped myself up on my elbows. ¡°We ain''t done yet son. Look at the windows you dismissed. Yes I know you dismissed them, which is good! If you are going to be a Warrior you have to be smart enough not to look at windows while fighting.¡± I reopen the windows and see that they all condensed into one.
You have pushed your body past its normal limits and increased your CONS and DEX by 10! This is truly the way to strengthen yourself. Be warned though that this will not always be that way. It gets harder the higher you get!
You have 10 in CONS and DEX. Stat points have been updated into an easy reference that you can look at for all of your stats. It shows level and what the benefits are.
You have learned the passive skill Running! Each level reduces the amount of END needed while running. Super Basic but hey all basic bitches need something like this right?
Hold on! Did the AI just call me a basic bitch? Whatever I need skills so it¡¯s fine. Time to pull up that compiled list.
Stat Level 9 STR Carry weight and attack+1 For each stat point
Stat Level 10 CONS Health +20, Defence +2 and regen +.2 for every stat point
Stat Level 10 DEX END +20 and regen +.2 for every stat point
Stat Level 5 CHA +0% chance for favorable actions
Stat Level 5 INT MANA +10
Stat Level 5 WIS MANA Regen +.1 for every stat point
Stat Level 10 LUCK +10% chance Crit and random stuff
Nice that is actually very nice. Now I know how much I will gain and what my chance percentages are. My Dad sees that I am finished so he waves me over. I begrudgingly get up and head over to him. ¡°We are going to do pushups and squats now. One hour like the run. Go!¡± I drop to the ground after twenty and force myself back up to continue on. The hour that passed was more like a year in my mind. I hurt everywhere and had no desire to do it again after we finished. I will say that I was smart enough to have the system show me the changes after everything was done. Really I just set it on ¡®Notify when safe¡¯. Super convenient.
You have pushed your body past its normal limits and increased your CONS Has gone up by 5 and STR by 10! This is truly the way to strengthen yourself. Be warned though that this will not always be that way. It gets harder the higher you get!
You have passed 10 in STR and 20 in CONS!
Whew! That was actually worth it. Now how do I train the others? ¡°Hey Dad! How do I train INT, WIS and CHA?¡± Yea I said them as if they were abbreviated. Sounds silly actually. ¡°First off don¡¯t abbreviate them. It¡¯s fine to read but you sound like an idiot if you say it outloud. Intelligence is improved by reading, Wisdom by applying the knowledge you have gained but it is easier to just dump Stat points into it. Charisma is by growing up and investing Stat poins but you won''t need to worry about that since your dad is a looker and you will be to!¡± At this point I realize at how ¡®handsome¡¯ my dad was. He was a solid four feet tall and almost as wide. He had a beard that went all the way down to his waist. He looked like he was made of pure muscle. I could see them through his clothes. His eyes were a startling green and his eyebrows were super bushy. Honestly he would probably be a good looking dwarf. My mom was right behind him as well she was actually a very fair looking woman. Standing around nineteen feet with a very womanly body and long light hair. Everything about her screamed mature woman. She had a fair face that would make models cry at unfairness and eyes as deep as the ocean but as sharp as lightning. ¡°And what have you two been up to?¡± She asked. My dad jumped and I laughed. ¡°Oh! Dear I had no idea you were there! You shouldn¡¯t scare me like that. Anyways we were just finishing up the physical part of the training.¡± ¡°The physical part? What do you mean by that?¡± She queried. At this point I decided to jump into the conversation. ¡°I¡¯m a Blue Mage! I also want to train as a warrior!¡± I just dumped that on her to see how she would react. For a moment she just had a stunned look on her face. ¡°Did you say Blue Mage?¡± I smiled and nodded. She heaved a big sigh before getting a determined look on her face. ¡°You will have much to do son. I have a hundred books that you will read that cover everything from all animals and monsters of our world all the way to politics. This will be your intelligence training. After you have read all the books you will watch us cast all our spells and perform all of our skills. It will be a lot but if you finish you will be as strong as we can possibly make you. Honestly this is the best thing that could happen to us!¡± She squealed. She thundered off to the house. I reluctantly got up and followed her inside. Once inside I heard her call me from the dining room. ¡°Come in and we shall get started on your studies! First up is the monster book. You will read a book a day and every sixth day will be a day off.¡± I sigh again for the umpteenth time today as I sit down at our huge ass table. Oh did I mention how inconvenient it was to have a nineteen foot tall mother? No? Well allow me to elaborate before I read this book. Imagine you are alice in wonderland and you are super small. I¡¯m talking ant to a dog small. No imagine all of your house is made for the dog and you just live in the house that is meant for the dog. That is what it¡¯s like. Infuriating. Now the book was normal sized so that was a bonus. I won¡¯t bore you with the detail but it covered everything. It took me four hours to read and I must say that it was actually fascinating. All fantasy creatures were in this game so I would always have unique experiences. After I finished I got another four to INT so that was nice. Dinner was a nice giant boar with various herbs from our garden and a sweat loaf of bread. The food was divine and I even got the cooking skill since I watched my dad prepare the last bit of food.
You have learned Cooking! This is a passive skill that increases the bonuses and taste of the food by 1% for each level.
I showed my dad and he congratulated me. He also said that from now on I would be making the food. That is fine with me since I enjoy cooking. I began to think though, what is the level cap for passive skills? Could I get cooking up to a thousand? More? ¡°Dad. What is the level cap for skills like cooking and stuff like that?¡± ¡°Ah good question. Well it¡¯s like this. At first you are a no named cook, cooking is going to be the example. Once you reach level twenty it goes up to novice. After twenty again it goes up to advanced. Then expert and finally master. Each level has extra bonuses. I once heard of a master cook that was max level. He was able to make a soup that rendered you immortal.¡± He said. Wow. That would be great! I could keep this character forever if I wanted! [Hey Odin! I don¡¯t know if I told you but this latest game sports a solid 1000:1 ratio for this game''s time to real world time! Have fun!] Holy shit! A year out there is a thousand here! That means I''ve only spent about two days here! I decide to go to bed and continue this amazing game. I wasn¡¯t sure about this whole growing up thing but the time ratio made it worth it. Bidding my mom and dad good night i head off to bed. Chapter 2 A year passed and I was now six years old. Mom found a lot more books so I wasn¡¯t able to just finish in a hundred days. I also learned a bunch of skills. My stats hit a soft cap of eighty each. Oh did I mention that I was still level one? Well I am. Here''s what they look like.

I have some huge spells but they were from watching two monsters fight from far away. It was so cool! The explosions almost gave me a chub. Not gonna lie. I was eating breakfast as my dad came up to me. ¡°Hey son. Listen we can¡¯t teach you anything else and the monsters here are way too strong for you to fight. Sadly all those types of monsters are near towns and well, you see, your mom and I can¡¯t go near them.¡± I knew that but what I didn¡¯t understand was why they didn¡¯t just go finish the mission. ¡°Dad how about we go finish the mission you never completed. Then we could move to the city! I mean haven''t you passed the requirements for the quest?¡± He ponders for a moment. ¡°Babe! Get in here!¡± I hear rapid pounding as my mom comes running in. I could barely stay on my chair as the ground shakes. ¡°What? Are you ok? Is Odin hurt? What is it?¡± She asked frantically. ¡°No. I¡¯m sorry but Odin brought up a great point.¡± He said while soothing her. Which was hilarious watching such a small man rub a giantesses shin. ¡°Ok tell me. I¡¯m calm now.¡± She sighed. ¡°Odin reminded me that we are well past the requirements for the quest. Look at it. We could even take him with us! It would be a great family outing. Then we can move back to the city and provide him with a great school and better life.¡± Dad cast child guilt spell. ¡°Well it would be better for him. The quest marker isn¡¯t that far either. I suppose we should. Especially for our son.¡± Spell was godly effective! ¡°Yes! I''ll go grab my things. Put our stuff into your inventory honey and then we can go.¡± Dad said as he practically jumped for joy. The next hour was a whirlwind of commotion as mom and dad equipped their best armor. Mom then packed literally everything into her inventory. I don''t even want to fathom what her strength was. Then again she is a GIANT! Even with everything packed up mom was able to carry us on her shoulders as we headed west through the forest we were in. According to them it would take us five hours to reach our destination. I decided that it would be a good time to take a nap. I was shaken awake by my dad. ¡°Hey son were here. Jus sit on this rock and wait for us. If it takes longer than an hour head north. In a couple days you will reach a town. Here is some gold just in case.¡± I nod slightly as I take the bag of gold he handed me. I won¡¯t even open it. I can¡¯t because they have to come back and take the gold and me to the city. As my dad leaves I¡¯m just sitting here twiddling my thumbs. Soon I heard my mother''s yell and crashing as stuff started to get destroyed. I figure now is a good time to talk to Alex if I can. [What ya want? I¡¯m busy.] I just wanna know if any more people joined the game and if all the NPC¡¯s are AI as well. [Ah. First question is no second is yes. We done?] I mean sure I guess. Kinda bored right now. Sorry. [That¡¯s fine. We can talk later. Oh and don¡¯t forget to chose a God or Goddess when you can. Super helpful.] Well that went about as well as I could have hoped. He is still a little crazy though, or he could just be at a whore house in game. No one knows. After about fifteen more minutes my mom and dad came back. Smiles lit their faces as they walked up to me. Dad was on mom¡¯s shoulder and he looked like a child that got a bag full of candies. If you discover this narrative on Amazon, be aware that it has been stolen. Please report the violation. ¡°Well Odin were done here! Shoulda done this ages ago! Haha! Come and hop on, it¡¯s time to head out to the city.¡± My dad shouted. I hop onto my mom''s shoulder and we head out. She stomped through the forest and it took us thirty minutes to come out of it. It probably would have taken me a good three hours to traverse what she crushed under her colossal feet. A large prairie was in front of us and if you looked closely you could see a castle in the distance. Mom was traveling at probably twenty miles an hour, long legs. Thanks to mom¡¯s super speed the outline of the city came out more and more. The city wasn¡¯t much to look at. Typical medieval one story and two story homes. Some places were mansions and some places were just rundown shacks. What really standed out was the castle. It was magnificent. Think old school castle in a round formation but three times the size from history. The towers seemed to touch the heavens as they soared upwards. I could now faintly hear the hustle and bustle of everyday life. We passed a lot of horned bunnies on the way up to the gates. I could hear my dad shout out to me. ¡°Those are the starting creatures that you will have to fight. Easy to kill and give a decent amount of experience.¡± I just nodded my head. We were at the city gates now so I focused on the guard that blocked my mom. ¡°Halt giant! I remember you. Have you completed the quest so you can come back to normal society?¡± He asked. My mom nodded her head. ¡°Yes Sebastian. Sadly our parties were killed so my husband and I needed to grow stronger first. We also had a son! Meet Odin.¡± He studied me closely. ¡°Well met Odin. it is rare that we get half breeds here and rarer to have a dwarf and giant! Be good and don¡¯t make any trouble here.¡± ¡°Yes sir.¡± I replied. ¡°Now off with ya. Don¡¯t forget to stop by the Adventurers guild to turn in your quest.¡± he said as he waved us past. ¡°Mom. How did he know about your quest?¡± this was a new concept to me. Normally quests were only known by the quest giver and the taker. ¡°Some quests are world wide quests. Those are for everyone to see so that they can know if you are trust worthy and all that.¡± She replied in a sage like voice. Dad and I hopped down off of mom¡¯s shoulders as we headed to the guild so they could turn in their quest. We walked for about thirty minutes down the main road before we got to a giant friendly building that had a large sign on it the read ¡®Adventurer''s Guild¡¯ in bright red paint. Inside the building was a front desk in the middle of an open room. An extremely cute Elf stood at the front desk. Everywhere else was a bunch of tables and one wall had a poster board on it with a ton of sheets of paper. We walked up to the receptionist. And were greeted with a warm smile. ¡°What can I do for you?¡± She asked in a sing song voice. ¡°We are just turning in a quest. Then we need to buy a house that is giant friendly. If you have any suggestions we would love it.¡± My dad said. ¡°Certainly! First just press your thumbs to the scanner. Great! Your ranks have been updated and the gold has been transfered to your accounts. Sadly I see that many of your company died so we will send their cuts to the surviving family members.¡± ¡°Thank you so much. Now about the house issue.¡± My mom replied. ¡°Ah yes well. You see we actually have a mansion that is up for sale. The guild master bought it to try and get into the house flipping business. Sadly she failed horribly and now no one wants it. She reworked it to accommodate all races and that puts a lot of the smaller sized races off. If you want I can take you up and introduce you?¡± ¡°Perfect!¡± My dad boomed. ¡°We need to talk to the guild master anyways.¡± ¡°Oh really? May I ask why?¡± The receptionist asked. ¡°Sorry but not right now. You will probably find out in the near future though.¡± My mom said. The receptionist lets out a sigh and leads us up a flight of stairs. There was only one flight of stairs but the building looked to be multiple stories tall because it was outfitted for all races. At the top of the stairs was another open layout area anin in the dead centre sat a well aged woman. She was going through paperwork on her desk and only looked up for a brief second. There were multiple chairs around the outside of the room that were designed for different races. The receptionist grabbed one large one for mom. One with a step stool for dad, cuz he''s vertically challenged and a regular one for me. Soon I would need a large one though. I was already pushing six feet. I wonder when I will be full grown. [Seven years old.] You always pop up at random times. So weird. [Am not.] I am not starting this childish shit. They are talking about the house right now! [Spoiler alert! Your parents are rich and you get the house. But pay attention to the next bit. Bye.] ¡°Awesome! Thank you for buying the house! You and your son will love it.¡± the guild master finished. ¡°No thank you. We have one more thing to discuss though.¡± My mom replied. ¡°Oh really and what would that be?¡± She asked. My dad seemed to be sitting out of this completely. Probably because he had a step ladder on his chair. ¡°My son is special.¡± My mom said cryptically. ¡°Well yea. He¡¯s half dwarf and half giant. Of course he¡¯s special.¡± She replied. ¡°Odin can you show her your status?¡± My mom asked me. ¡°Why should I?¡± I replied. The guild master turned to me. ¡°I swear by the Gods and Goddess above that I will not divulge anything you don''t want me to.¡± She reassured me. I heard a ding as a Window popped up.
A heaven binding contract has been activated! Breaking this contract will cause severe pain then death.
I showed her my status since that would be the best reassurance I would ever get that someone wouldn¡¯t betray me. ¡°Your stats are amazing! Did you train them the hard way?¡± She looked at my mom then dad. ¡°Of course you did. No one does that anymore! Oh well. Wait. What the fuck is this?¡± She turned to my mom with a look of utter shock on her face. ¡°You know what this means right?¡± My mom asked. ¡°He needs the best teachers possible. Mages preferably.¡± She started to get into it. ¡°No. Not just mages.¡± I interjected. ¡°What? Why?¡± She asked. ¡°I want to be a warrior as well.¡± I replied smugly. I gave the look of not budging. I won''t let someone else dictate my life. It seemed like she could see the fire in my eyes. That or maybe it was because my mom was nodding in agreement. I¡¯m gonna go with fire in my eyes. ¡°Fine. We will have to get you a good mentor. I have just the person.¡± She replied with a wicked smile on her face. ¡°You will also go to a magic academy until you are seven. By then you will be an official adult. Other than your mentor and magical teacher you shouldn¡¯t tell anyone about this. Now go to your new home. I assume that you will want to increase your strength so here is a beginners quest to slay some bunnies.¡± With that we left the guild. I did stop by the reception desk and registered as an adventurer. All I had to do was press my thumb to a scanner and it recorded everything down. It was all confidential so that was good. Once outside we decided to head to a restaurant and get some food. After asking around we found a nice little place called the Giant Sizzle. They specialized in grilled foods and were giant friendly, hence the name. Once inside we were given the option of having the food brought to a table like a normal place or having a table with a fire in the middle of it. We chose the latter. As we sat down a waitress, who was a deep green orc asked us what we wanted to eat. I had read about a robust animal called a Hafgufa that was a giant whale with the flesh akin to a nice steak. I ordered that. It was expensive but my parents assured me that it was fine. As we waited for the food to arrive we heard a loud voice coming from the front. ¡°What do you mean our table is taken? Who the fuck do you think I am? Move them and I won¡¯t have to destroy this place.¡± The hostess seemed to be frantic as she tried to figure out what to do. The manager had even come out and was trying to calm the man down. He wouldn¡¯t have it though and ended up coming over to our table. ¡°Get out of here! That¡¯s my table and you aren''t welcome here you stone gnome and you thunderfoot!¡± He shouted at my parents. I guess he forgot about me and since my parents were too stunned to speak I got up. I knew he was using racial slurs for my parents and it lit a fire in my belly. ¡°You should take that back.¡± I growled. My voice sounded like boulders falling down a mountain. Full of danger and hate. :Fuck that you inbred piece of shit.¡± I cocked back my arm and punched him square in the jaw. I guess he wasn¡¯t that strong because I heard an audible snap come from him as he flew five feet away and crashed into a table. His thug friends got up in my face and tried to fight me as well. After a few more well placed punches they were all knocked out on the ground. Some had broken jaws while others had cracked ribs. The manager apologized profusely over the commotion and gave us our meal for free. As we ate our meal in peace my mom scolded me. ¡°You shouldn¡¯t go and start fights like that honey. They were only level ten and your stats make them childsplay for you.¡± My dad however couldn¡¯t be happier. ¡°What do ya mean? He did great. Solid hits I must say and he even defended our honor. Couldn¡¯t ask for a better son!¡± He clapped me on the back. ¡®Well yes that was nice but try not to do it again. At the very least make sure you don¡¯t start the fight!¡± Mom said. ¡°I will.¡± I assured her. Once we were done with the food we left a decent tip for the waitress and headed to our new home. It was situated in the centre of the city and was very lavish looking. It was made out of all brick and had a large yard surrounding it. At least fifty feet tall and once we were inside I realized that it was only two stories tall. I was too tired from the day so I decided to head to bed. The house was furnished so I just went upstairs and claimed a bedroom as my own. As soon as my head hit the pillow i was out. Chapter 3 I woke up to my mother calling me down for breakfast. ¡°Coming!¡± I yelled out. I ran down the stairs ready for a new day. I was going to an academy now! This game really had everything in it. It actually brought back memories from before I was allowed to game. I and about twenty other children were sitting in a semicircle around an elderly man.this was school before we were taught online when we were five. ¡°Long before the domes we roamed this planet. Our lives were short but we made large strides in technology and life. We were pioneers!¡± He said enthusiastically. ¡°Sadly we abused the resources that this planet gave to us. We took and took without care or concern. This was our downfall children and it is something you should always remember. There were many warnings about the end of life as we knew it. However we still continued with what we knew. ¡°Humans you see are creatures of habit and we are scared of the unknown, even now we are scared. When the atmosphere began to change the whole world went into a panic. It was only through the vast fortune of the top class of society and their unwillingness to die that saved us. ¡°They all threw everything they had into developing the ability to house people in domes that would create the perfect environment to survive. We struggled at first and lost many but we managed. Then the bugs came. ¡°They were huge. Rapid evolution from the ozone deteriorating and radiation from space made this possible. Now at first we tried to fight back. We made large machines that we could pilot but the atmosphere rusted them before we could use them. The only thing that would survive was humans with a special breathing apparatus. This was an impossible task since no human could match the strength of these goliaths. Instead we fled inwards and down, content to live under a dome. Glimpses into the outside world has shown us that the bugs are still there but the atmosphere has stabilized. However it is still unable to support us.¡± He sighed as he finished the story. It was a tale that still shook me to the core. It made me rethink the an analyse our life here. I wanted so badly to see the outside world. Feel the sun kiss my skin. It would never be though. I arrived at the table slightly morose, which my mother picked up on immediately. ¡°What¡¯s wrong?¡± She asked. ¡°Nothing mother. I was just wondering about how life is going to go now. I understand that I will be an adult at seven but that seems strange to me. I¡¯ll only be seven! I feel like I should be a kid still.¡± I replied. ¡°Oh well that is actually pretty easy to explain. You see we consider you an adult when your body stops growing. This usually happens around the age of seven. So it just became the norm. Also because so many races have a long lifespan age is really just considered a number. We do have a few milestones for age though. They are about every twenty years.¡± She explained briefly. I really don¡¯t get why it''s like that though. It will make many people feel awkward. [Simple. No one wants to spend so long playing a game and not get to the ¡°GOOD¡± parts. Hehehe.] Ah that makes sense. Well I will just remember to not ask about age then. Now time to get to school! ¡°Mom. When will I meet my mentor and go to school?¡± ¡°Oh should be anytime now¡¡± She said. ¡°Knock knock knock!¡± I get up and run to the front door. I made it there in record time. I open it and and immediately realise it was just someone delivering mail. With a grunt I take the mail and thank the courier and close the door. As soon as I turn away another knock comes from the door. I open it back up and see one of the most amazing looking women I have ever seen. Could have been love at first sight. No It definitely was! She was an orc but was very feminine. She had long blueish green arms with slender fingers. At a solid seven feet tall I was slightly taller than her, I was growing really fast. Her eyes were a dark and deep chocolate color and she had two tiny fangs jutting up from her lower jaw. ¡°How may I help you mam?¡± I asked in my most suave voice possible. ¡°Where are your parents boy?¡± She grunted. Oh a woman after my heart. ¡°Please come in! I will show you to them fair lady.¡± I laid it on thick. ¡°Grow some hair and kill some things then we can talk. Until then shut up.¡± Oh I want to try so hard now. I lead her to the kitchen where my mother and father are sitting. As soon as she sees my mom she introduces herself. ¡°I am Korga. I am here to train the boy until he turns seven. I also know about his class and will use that to train him better.¡± ¡°Ah¡ well good then. He leaves to the academy in an hour so you can start your training for a little while if you want. We have a large yard out back.¡± My mom replied. ¡°Very well. Come boy.¡± I follow her through the house and we were soon in the back yard facing each other. ¡°I will show you my three skills now. Make sure you follow closely so you can learn them you damn cheat.¡± She grumbled. Ah! No I¡¯m not a cheat I swear. I felt my heart break a little inside. ¡°The three skills I will teach you are Swordsmanship, Heavy Swing and Triple Strike. These are the basics for a swordsman and warrior. We will then begin your active training so that you can gain the actual skill in using them. These three skills I have mastered completely and are the only ones I have.¡± She said with pride. Oh boy this is gonna be awkward. ¡°Um Korga¡¡± ¡°Call me teacher.¡± She interrupted. ¡°Ah. Ok. Well teacher the thing is that I already have those skills. I learned them from my father awhile ago¡ so I don¡¯t really know what to do¡¡± I said awkwardly. She just stared at me for a while. ¡°You¡¯re a damn cheat.¡± With that she walked back inside leaving me alone in the yard. I just sighed and walked back inside. The blue mage class makes me feel like the game is sort of unfair to others around me. I moped around as I packed away a couple clothing items before I left. When the time came to leave we all left the house. It was quiet as we walked across the city. The walk was long and I admit that I was still butt hurt from the cheat comments. We arrived at the academy before I knew it and I must say that it wasn¡¯t very impressive. My dad could tell how I felt. ¡°It may be small but that is only because people are taught the most basic of spells for their element. This normally takes a year so the longest anyone stays is a yer. It¡¯s perfect for you really. Once you meet your teacher you will learn many good spells.¡± My dad told me. ¡°Ah well that is all well and good¡ but tell me why it looks empty.¡± I said. I seriously could hear nothing and could see nothing. ¡°Well I¡¯m sure they are all just learning earnestly!¡± He scoffed. Yea¡ I doubt it. It is way too quiet to have kids in there learning magic. We all walk up to the building that looked like a run down orphanage. One story tall with broken windows and made entirely out of wood. Once inside we see that, just as I thought, there was no one here except an older man sitting in a chair at a desk. When he realizes that we had entered he stands up with excitement clear in his eyes. ¡°Welcome to the magic academy! I am the headmaster here. How may I help you?¡± ¡°Our son is here to study until he turns seven.¡± My father replies. ¡°Ah! You must be Odin then. Yes the guild master has informed me about everything. I have many things for you to learn but let me tell you our rules first.¡± The headmaster said.Taken from Royal Road, this narrative should be reported if found on Amazon. ¡°First rule is that all aspiring mages need to learn their affinities for the elements. Second is that no large magic may be performed on the academy grounds. Lastly is that all orders must be followed without exception! Is that clear?¡± He asked. ¡°Yes headmaster!¡± I replied. ¡°Good now you may all follow me for the affinities test. This will be the last time you see your son for a while.¡± He said towards my parents. He escorted us through the front meeting area and to a door in the back. Behind the door was a small room that had three shrines in it. All were made of marble and fairly plain looking. He stopped in the middle of the three and turned towards us. ¡°This is the shrine of the trinity. They are the two Gods and Goddess that rule over our world. Here is where you chose the deity that you will follow. When you chose you will then sacrifice at the most fifty points of your Mana, Health and Endurance constantly. They will then show you your affinities and grant you access to them. This is the first step in becoming a mage.¡± He told me. ¡°Ok but why is that so important?¡± I asked. ¡°Well unless you have the affinity unlocked you can¡¯t use the spells effectively. Sure they will be wieldable but they will never reach their full potential. Say you have a hundred percent affinity in water, that means that all water attacks do an extra hundred percent damage. You would also take a hundred percent less elemental damage. However elemental attacks still do a base amount of damage that can only be negated by defence. Kind of like a light breeze won¡¯t hurt you but a stick that is carried by the wind will hurt.¡± He explained. ¡°Ah that makes sense. Thank you headmaster. Oh, how many affinities can you have?¡± I asked. ¡°Well there are thirteen in total and generally you will only get 4 from a single deity.¡± ¡°Do I have to chose only one?¡± I see a loophole. ¡°Uh¡ no I suppose not. I just.. Actually that¡¯s pretty genius. You can¡¯t change deity after you have chosen so why not all three? I like it.¡± He stammered.
You have used your intelligence to come up with a way to get more affinities! Your wisdom has gone up by 5!
Yes! More regen. ¡°So how do we do this?¡± I ask ready to start. ¡°Simple just kneel and pray. In the middle of course.¡± He instructed me. I walk to the center and get on my knees. I bow my head out of respect. ¡®Hey. Um I¡¯m not too sure how to do this but I would like to chose all three of you to guide me. If that is ok of course.¡¯ ¡®Hah! Finally someone thought of it!¡¯ A voice sounded out in my head. ¡®Well just so that we won¡¯t confuse you we will designate one of us to talk to you at all times. Do you have a preference?¡¯ Oh I get a choice huh? ¡®Honestly that is really difficult Zedd, Morgana and Bob. I don¡¯t think I can really chose. I don¡¯t know you all and don¡¯t want to single someone out. How about I just leave it as is? I will suggest that you tell me who is talking first. That would eliminate any issues.¡¯ ¡®This is Bob. I love it. It is not often that I find something unexpected happening to me! Ha! Normally it is me doing that to others. Tell ya what. I¡¯m bumping your Luck to twenty.¡¯ ¡®Thank you Bob! That is most generous of you!¡¯ I praised. Definitely stay on their good sides! ¡®My turn I guess. I am Zedd. I can not give you any bonuses but I will increase your affinities by a little. Let me just move the slider a tad and¡ fuck.¡¯ ¡®What? Is everything ok? Did I do something wrong?¡¯ I ask frantically. ¡®Ah no I just¡ um¡ well you will find out soon. Just work extra hard for me. Ok?¡¯ ¡®Yes absolutely!¡¯ I reply. ¡®Really Zedd? Well he really is gonna have to work hard now! JUST TO ESCAPE! Oh well not much we can do about it now. Anyways young Odin I am Morgana. I seem to have been left with the job of explaining how it all works. Well you got the affinity part from the headmaster right?¡¯ she asked me. ¡®Yup.¡¯ I replied. ¡®Ok well when you chose a God or Goddess you get a title and we then set your affinity level. After that we give you some small blessings and what not. Since you are the first to chose all three you will get the title Hero of Three! It pretty much just lets everyone know that you are our chosen hero. It doesn¡¯t give you anything else other than a pass with those that worship any one of us. Now as for my small blessing I will increase your Charisma by an extra one per level up. Can¡¯t have an ugly hero right?¡¯ ¡®I guess not¡ didn¡¯t really think I was or will be ugly¡¡¯ I moped. ¡®That¡¯s not what I meant and you know it. Now open your eyes and take the test. Have a good one. We will contact you at a later time.¡¯ With that they all said goodbye and left. As I open my eyes I see the headmaster holding a stone. His mouth was agape as he stared at my new title. ¡°I didn¡¯t think that would work.¡± Was all he said. After a couple minutes of everybody probably rethinking their life decisions the headmaster snapped out of the self hating haze he was in. ¡°Well then. Let us finish this little bit yes? All you need to do is place your hand on this stone and we will know how to teach you. I will let you know that no matter the affinity that I can show you the basics of all the elements. That¡¯s actually all I can do. Hahahaha.¡± I placed my hand on the stone. At first a light glow spread through it. Then it started to get brighter and brighter. ¡°BOOM¡± The stone shattered leaving everyone, including me, in shock. The next thing that happened was a new screen that showed up. It was mine and it was the affinities list.

¡°How?¡± Everyone said at the same time. ¡°You really are a damn cheat.¡± My mentor added. No! So cruel. ¡°I am not¡¡± I mumbled. ¡°Well we can teach you everything easily¡ but I am not sure how long it will take. Since you are a blue mage teaching you the skills will be easy but training ALL of them will take a while. Honestly it is the opposite of what we normally do. I think practical experience will be best.¡± The headmaster told me. ¡°Ok well when can we start?¡± I asked. ¡°Tomorrow. For now say goodbye to your family and then follow me to your new room. Your mentor will get a room next to you as well. We can go over the details later.¡± I turn to my parents. With tears in their eyes I say goodbye for now and follow the headmaster out of the building only to go into another barracks like building in the back. It was comprised of stone with small six foot by six food rooms inside of it. All empty as well. ¡°Why is there no one here?¡± I asked. ¡°Just not too many kids right now I guess. We will probably get some soon though.¡± He replied. ¡°Now your training starts tomorrow morning. Korga will teach you swordsmanship in the morning for two hours. Then breakfast followed by spell learning. After that will be lunch and then free time for whatever you want. The next day will be training from Korga then heading out and practicing your spells on monsters. That will become the norm until you turn seven. Sound good?¡± ¡°Sounds great to me.¡± I answer. I would actually prefer that anyways. I can level up and get a great headstart on the game.besides the obvious advantage I have now. ¡°Good now go set up your room then head back to the main building for dinner. It¡¯s in the room next to the shrine of the trinity. See you there.¡± With that he left me to my own devices. As I said before, my room is six feet by six feet. On window that looked out to the city. I was able to see people busily going to and fro. It was actually quite nice. Now I may prefer being in the woods or out of the city period but seeing others was pleasant. I had a bed in the middle of the room and a locked trunk at the foot of the bed. Honestly it was too small. Oh well it will only get worse. At least it¡¯s only my feet that hang off at the at the moment. I sigh at the thought of getting bigger. On the other hand I will be more intimidating. I look at my stats real quick. Why is there a soft cap until level ten? It didn¡¯t make sense when I was told about it. [It is based on the max a body can be before they pass the normal threshold. It¡¯s kinda like upgrading your body. When you level up you force your body to change by spending stat points but naturally advancing your stats means that you hit a limit. This limit is always an extra eighty points in all stats unless you are using the level up stat points. It makes players strive harder.] Ah thanks. [No prob. Also you really have found a way to cheat the system. Although that damn God messed up the affinity not you so it is ok for now. You are supposed to build it up over time so we are taking away the slider that the Gods have.] Well at least I improved the game. With that I head to dinner. It was a small dinner comprised of duck and potatoes. Not bad but really not the best I have ever had. After dinner I head to bed because Korga told me we would start my training as the sun rose overhead. Chapter 4 Training was simple but tiring. All we did was spar for hours. I was told that I needed to bring my Swordsmanship level up. Sadly I got nothing out of this training, I did feel a little more comfortable with a sword though. After that was going and watching the headmaster showed me the basic spells for all of the elements. There was no fanfare or anything cool like that. It was simple and since all he needed to do was show me once we were done in two hours. My spell list was pretty hefty now.

With all my new spells I was getting quite concerned on how I would level everything up. Seemed a little daunting to me. Then again I could literally live in this game for a thousand years for one year outside. The headmaster was sitting in a chair regaining all the mana he had spent and was looking at me with a odd look on his face. ¡°What¡¯s wrong?¡± I ask. ¡°Well I honestly have nothing else for you to learn. For now just go and exterminate the monsters around the city. I do have a request though.¡± He said. ¡°Yes?¡± ¡°Well if you could teach the students we might have while you are here that would be great. As you could probably tell we have no instructors at the moment. That coupled with the fact that you have max affinity in everything means that you wouldn¡¯t be hurt from stray spells.¡± He said. This ass wants me to be a magical punching bag! Might as well though, see no reason not to. Plus he did show me all the basics. ¡°Sure. I better get paid though.¡± ¡°Of course! How does a Gold a month sound?¡± He asked. I nod my head and leave. It seems my life would become way more chaotic in the future. Oh well. Korga was waiting for me at the dining area. ¡°What are we to do now Odin?¡± She asked me once I came up to her. ¡°Oh just monster killing now. The headmaster did ask me to teach once the academy gets more trainees though.¡± ¡®Oh well that will be good for training yous spells.¡± She replied while nodding her head. ¡°Yea it will. I just don¡¯t want to be in charge all that much. Anyways, where should we go to kill monsters?¡± I ask. ¡°Well we can go to the adventurer''s guild and pick up a monster culling quest. They have one for the rabbits outside the walls. That quest is never ending since they breed so rapidly. Or we can just go and adventure around.¡± She informed me. ¡°Let¡¯s get the quest.¡± With that we left the academy and headed to the guild. Once again we were greeted by the receptionist in the guild. ¡°Hello and what can I help you with today?¡± The receptionist asked. This book is hosted on another platform. Read the official version and support the author''s work. ¡°I would like to get the rabbit horde quest please.¡± I say. ¡°Very well. Please place your thumb on the scanner and it will be recorded.¡± I place my thumb and a screen appears before me.
New Quest
Rabbit Hord. Rabbits plague the area surrounding the city. Kill ten rabbits and turn in an ear for each rabbit. Quest duration: Repeatable/Infinite. Rewards: 100 EXP and 10 Copper.
After getting the quest we head out of the city to the fields with the rabbits. It took us no time at all to reach the furry little things. I wonder if they taste good. These little bastards were as cute as could be and they almost made me want to not kill them, even though they had a random horn on their head. I needed the experience though. Gotta level and all that good stuff. I draw my sword and rush the nearest rabbit. A bar popped up over it with its name, level and health. It was just a faint line of script that you could perceive if you focused. Wild Rabbit. LVl 1. 45 HP This thing should go down in one hit at least. I thrust my sword and pierce it through the chest. OVERKILL! Popped up over the wild rabbit. A window popped up as well.
For killing Wild Rabbit you have gained 10 EXP with a bonus of 40% for 80 INT the total gained is 14 EXP! Would you like to disable further notifications for EXP gains? Y N
I chose yes and went over to the slain rabbit to gather any loot from it. Odd thing was that the rabbit was now gone. It was there then it just wasn¡¯t anymore. ¡°The loot from kills automatically goes into your inventory.¡± Korga Spoke up behind me. ¡°Ah thanks.¡± I replied. I check my inventory and see that I got one rabbit pelt and 2 copper. I got no rabbit meat so I wasn¡¯t able to make any food at the moment. We headed to more rabbits and slew them whenever we met one. Honestly I was way too strong for this field. After killing seven more rabbits I leveled up to two. I got four stat points to distribute as I wanted. I put two in STR and CHA. With that we kept going and killing rabbits. I found that they always dropped two copper and a rabbit pelt. Each pelt weighed a pound so I figured I would kill until I was at the limit of my carrying capacity. I sighed as I looked at the amount of rabbits I would have to slaughter. Three hundred and seventy to be exact. I decide then that all my future stat points need to go into CHA or WIS just to be safe. I became a rabbit killing machine and started sprinting along. I was able to kill one every minute since they were so plentiful. After 14 more rabbits killed I got another level up. This time I put all four points into CHA. By the time I had filled up my inventory and maxed out my carry limit I was level ten. I now had twenty in CHA and twenty nine in WIS. feeling pretty pleased with myself I headed back to the guild. Korga had been silent this entire time so I was slightly surprised when she stopped me at the front of the guild. ¡°I have decided that you no longer need me to help you or train you. I will go let your parents know and I won¡¯t be bothering you anymore. Honestly you should have had a lot of trouble with the rabbits out there but you are just too strong. Don¡¯t forget to train your body now that you hit level ten. Have a good one Odin.¡± She said as she left me. I just shrugged my shoulders and went inside. Not like she helped much in the first place. [Hey she was supposed to be your guide and possible companion!] Well that¡¯s dumb. That is like a handicap for new players. Pretty lame if you are reading a story and the main character has such a nice handicap! [Don¡¯t care! I like those kind of stories.] Whatever. Hey what is the level cap? [There isn¡¯t one. Never liked em. Seems silly having a level seventy character slaying a dragon! Besides once you leave this planet you will face things at level three thousand and above!] Leave this planet? [Nothing!] With that Alex left. I would say that he spilled a very important spoiler. Either way it didn¡¯t matter since I had a long ways to go. I walk into the guild, alone, and walk up to the receptionist. ¡°What can I do for you?¡± She asked me. ¡°I would like to turn in my quest.¡± ¡°Certainly. Just press down your thumb please. And¡. got it. Wait um you have completed the quest thirty seven times. I need to get the guild master for this.¡± She stammered before she left. I waited patiently in the guild as she went to get the guild master. A couple groups were in the main hall chatting it up before they headed out. I paid them no mind. The guild master came down the hall took one look at me and went back upstairs. The receptionist just walked over to me slowly. ¡°Ok so here''s how it works. Endless quest like these complete every time you complete the quest since you completed it thirty seven times you will get the rewards of all of it. I just had to make sure that the guild master knew. Anyways all completed. Have a good day.¡± she said as she dismissed me. Honestly that made me happy since I needed the money and experience. I see one window pop up followed by the notification of a level up. I raised my CHA and Wis and saw that I now had over eleven silver. Seems like it takes a hundred copper to make a silver gold will probably be the same. What really confuses me though was the EXP gained by the rabbits stayed the same. I walk back up to the receptionist to ask her. ¡°Hey why didn¡¯t I get less EXp from killing the rabbits when I got to a higher level? Also could you tell me where to sell my rabbit pelts?¡± ¡°Ok well to answer your first question. Monsters will only give a base amount of EXP and it never changes. Sure you could farm the monsters but you would be so strong that you would never advance your skills since you have to be actually fighting to increase them. Second question would be to go to the leatherworker down the street.¡± She curtly replied. ¡°Thanks.¡± I said as I walked away. I headed out the guild and went down the street. I found the leatherworker easily and entered the shop. At the counter a lithe elven man manned the shop. ¡°Welcome! What can I do for you?¡± He asked me. ¡°I need to sell my rabbit furs if you don''t mind.¡± ¡°Sure how many ya got?¡± ¡°I have three hundred and seventy eight.¡± I replied. ¡°Wow¡ Um I can give ya ten silver for the lot.¡± ¡°Sounds good to me. Have a good day.¡± With that I went back to the academy. My days now revolved around training in the morning and going out in the evening to slaughter more rabbits. It was a good system. The new soft cap until I hit level twenty was a hundred and forty for my stats. The only problem was that I needed weights now to increase my strength and everything. The days flew by and I was able to hit level twenty before my birthday. I didn¡¯t even have to teach anyone at the academy. No kids had shown any aptitude or want to use magic. I hadn¡¯t turned in my quest though because I wanted to do it all at once and then drop the quest. I had trained with the headmaster and he was able to make some wights out of magic so my physical stats grew well and all the books in the academy raised my intelligence as well. All in all I was super strong and had a huge mana pool now. I did sell the pelts and in total I managed to get a gold from the leatherworker. My birthday was pretty uneventful. My parents came and congratulated me on my drastic increase and wished me safe travels as I did my thing in the world. In the end I went and turned in the quest for the rabbit slaughter. It totalled a hundred and ten times which brought me up to level twenty five. I chit chatted with the receptionist for a little bit afterwards and dropped the quest. While talking I found out that most people that were adventurers left the town after level ten so I was way overdue to get out of here. Now that I was an adult I could go and do whatever I want. I could take over a kingdom or whatever. Not that I was going to but, you know,I could. I left the guild and went back to my parents house. After a lot of hugs and a couple of baths from the tears my mom spilled I said goodbye. It was time to really start my adventure. I left the house and headed out. I didn¡¯t know what I would get into but I was sure excited about it.
