    The sun rose over the horizon, Alassie and Kedi were sleeping until they heard a knocking on the door.


    " Who is it," Kedi said in a sleepy voice.


    " Your mother," said her mother.


    " Oh good morning Mother," Kedi said as her voice turned more happy. She loved her mother and was always excited to see her.


    " Can I come in?" her mother asked.


    " Yes, but Alassie is still asleep so we can''t be too loud," Kedi said quietly laugh. She picture Alassie waking up with her crazy bedhead and being mad. Kedi''s mother opened the door and in her hand she had a tray full of food for her and Alassie.


    " I made you breakfast for you two," Kedi''s mother said smiling.


    " Thank youMother," Kedi said smiling back.


    " Mother I hope you don''t mind me asking, but why are we being locked away in here?" Kedi asked her face turning serious.Her mother took a deep breath and said,


    " Let''s just say there is something going on inour town that effects you in a way that I don''t want them to find you or Alassie." Kedi was a very obedient daughter and hearing her mother say this made her not want to try making any escapes. Her mother soon left the room and Kedi started to eat her breakfast. While eating it her mind began to fill with ideas that could possibly explain what was going on. " Maybe there are killers running lose," she thought but quickly dropped that thought. Her mother would be more concerned if that was the reason.Soon her breakfast was gone and her decided to getdressed, brush her hair, than wake Alassie up. So Kedi walked over to her mirror an began to brush her long blonde hair. Shortly after beginning to brush her hair Alassie woke up. Kedi began to laugh when she saw Alassie blonde hair tangled in the back.

    "Sorry I am just excited because I found a way out of here." Alassie said swallowing her mouth full of food.


    " You what," Kedi said in a shocked voice.


    " I found a way out," Alassie said smiling.

 Chapter 2

    " Why would you want to leave?" Kedi asked


    " Because I am tried of staying in this room. Don''t you agree." Alassie said.


    " Yes, but we are in here for a reason and I am not going to leave until my parents say it''s okay," Kedi said.


    After a few minutes of silence Alassie grabbed one of her dresses and when to go change. Her mind was set on getting out of this place and see the world she used to know. Kedi on the other hand wasn''t so sure. She really wanted to leave but she didn''t want to hurt her parents by disobeying them. Kedi felt torn. She felt like she needed to go with Alassie but she didn''t want to make her parents angry.


    After doing more thinking Kedi made up her mind. Shortly after making up her mind Alassie came up in her dress. The dress very formfitting, blue,and made her look beautiful.


    " Well I am leave so you have fun sitting here and waiting," Alassie said knowing that Kedi would most likely come with her.


    " Wait," Kedi said, " I am going with you."


    " I know that," Alassie said smiling, " But you should probably get dressed." Kedi smiled and grabbed a dress.


    A few minutes later Kedi came out the dress she was wearing was slightly tighter than Alassie''s dress, light pink,and low cut.

    " Okay," Alassie laughed. A few minutes later Kedi called for her mother. Her mother came up stairs and opened the door.


    "Yes, what do you need?" Her mother asked.


    " I just wanted to talked to you," Kedi said while turning to where her mother''s back was to the bathroom door.


    " Where''s Alassie," asked her mother?


    " Oh she is in the bathroom," Kedi said looking at the door givingAlassie the signal to come out.


    " Okay just wanted to make sure shewas still here," said her mother. As they talked Alassie slowly walked toward Kedi''s mother. A few seconds later shehad the keys. Kedi finished up talking to her mother and her mother left.


    " Yes now we can leave," said Alassie smiling.


    " Yep, so where is the way out?" Kedi asked.


    " Behind this huge painting," said Alassie. They had few painting in there room and behind the huge paint was a hole that would lead them out. SoAlassie and Kedi crawled though the hole and soon theyfelt the fresh air brush across their face. Soon trees and clouds filled their eyes.


    " Isn''t this great," said Alassie jumping out of the hole.


    " Yeah," said Kedi smiling.

 Chapter 3

    As they walked something caught Kedi''s eye. All the girls their age were gone, then she saw a paper pinned up. She walked over to a post and pulled a paper off of it and read it. It said,


    " By order of the King everyeligiblewoman should be brought to him." After reading this Kedi turned to Alassie and said,


    " We need to leave now."


    " Why?" Alassie asked. Kedi showed her the paper and there was no discussing it they need to leave now. Sneaking through the trees something caught Alassie''s eye. She saw a white horse and on its back was the king. Alassie quicklygrabbed Kedi and ducked down.


    " Shh," said Alassie putting her finger to her lip. They sit and watched Thranduil come though their town. They both gazed at him as he walk by. They thought he was most handsome. After they watched him walk by then left.They had come back just in time to hear Alassie''s mother knocking on the door.


    " Yes," Alassie said trying not to let her heavy breathing show from running back.


    " Kedi''s mother wanted to know if her keys were in here or not," said Alassie''s mother.


    " I will look for them," said Alassie. While" looking "for the keys Alassie and Kedi changed into clean clothes. Taking the keys from her dress, Alassie called for her mother.

    That night, as they leave sleeping, Kedi woke up. She couldn''t sleep. She got up out of bed and started walking around the room. Soon her mind lead her to step outside. She knew is was dangerous but being outside made her relax. Not walking around very long she founda path that lead somewhere so she decided to follow it. When she reached the end of thetraila castle fill her eyes. As she scan the castle she saw women her age walking around. Her mind became curious, "why were they there," she thought.Then her mind flashed to the paper she read earlier that day. Suddenly she felt someone grab her.

 Chapter 4

    Freezing up, Kedi didn''t move until she heardthe voice of theunknown person.


    " What are you doing out here," said Alassie. A sigh of relief come over Kedi.


    " I couldn''t sleep," said Kedi.


    " Well you know how dangerous it is out here. So why did you come out here," Alassie in a stern voice but not making her sound like a parent, but more of a caring stern.


    " Because it relaxes me," said Kedi turning an facing her.


    " Well we should go back," said Alassie.


    " Yes," said Kedi, "but I think I found out where all the other women went."


    " Where," said Alassie as she stood up and turn to her.


    " In that castle," Kedi said pointing to the castle behind while standing up.


    " Okay, but we need to go back now. It''s not safe,"said Alassie


    " I heard you the first time," saidKedi laughing a little to loud.


    " Shh," said Alassie, but it was too late someone had hear them.


    "Who is out there," said a graceful manly voice. On hear thisAlassie and Kedi fled.


    After Thranduil heard the talking he decidedto follow the voices. He followed the path that Alassie and Kedi went on and saw the two girls crawling into a hole. He know right away what had happened. They were hiding from him. So he left and went back to the castle where he made plans toraidthe house where thegirls were staying.


    The next morning the girls woke up. They had an odd feeling that they werebeing watched. Soon both of their fathers were walking though the door. They know that something bad was about o happen.

On the other hand Kedi was thinking that she should do whatever she needed todo without causing any trouble.


    " Why were you hiding them from me," said Thranduil.


    " Because we love them and don''t want them to leave us, said Kedi''smother. Thranduil smiled and said,


    " Do you not trust me to take care of them." But before Kedi''s mother could answer Thranduil said,


    " I will pay for the damage and will now take these lovely women from you." Alassie saw this as her chance to run and she did. Kedi tried to stop her but she was to fast. Soon Alassie was outside but there were guard all round the house. So she turned around and jumped onto the roof. Thranduil was watching and he was impressed by her moves, but was also impressed that the other lady wasn''t trying to escape. Grabbing her by the hand he takes her to his horse where they ride away, while Alassie made her escape through the wood where she wouldn''t be found.

 Chapter 5

    Kedi remained silence on the ride until they reach the castle were Thranduil says,


    " Why did you not try to leave."


    " Because I didn''t want to cause trouble," Kedi said while not look him in the eyes.


    " Interesting," he said, " Take her to her room." "Great another room," she thought, but when she entered her room the room was beautiful. She looked around in the room and found the dresses then decided that she should probably change out of her sleeping clothes and get something to eat. Meanwhile Alassie was making a plan to get Kedi out of the castle, but she was hungry and she forgot to grab food before she ran. Soon she heard moving in the trees and she saw elvenguards coming her way followed by Thranduil. She stood up and got ready to ran but she was surrounded.


    " There you are," said Thranduil in a gentle voice trying not to scare her, " why did you run?"


    " Because I didn''t want to beforced to do something I didn''t want to do," said Alassie.


    " What would I be forcing you to do besides come to my castle,"said Thranduil


    " Go to your castle and I hope you are going to keep your promise of paying for all the damage you did to my parent''shouse," Alassie had her voice turn slightly angry but she held her tongue from speaking too much.


    " I will keep my promise," he said smiling, " Now please don''t try to run and get on my horse."

    " Okaylets go," saidThranduil putting his horse into a canter. Alassie loves going fast so when they went into a canter she was excited. So she kicked her horse gentle into acanter. Thranduil watched her pull ahead from him and the wind go through her hair and couldn''t help but challenger her to a race. As they race Alassiebegan to forget about all that had gone on the morning and was enjoying the moment. Soon the castle was near so they slowed the horses down. They both agreed that it was a tie. Alassie dismounted and was shown to her room where she was greeted by Kedi who had changed into along mint green, dressthat made her look beautiful.


    " Wow! You look beautiful," said Alassie.


    " I wish I could say the same thing to you," Kedi said laughing. Alassie laughed as well.


    " Well I am going to shower, change, then eat breakfast," said Alassie.


    " Okay. I am going to walk around and check out this place," said Kedi.


    " Okay. I will join you when I am done," said Alassie.

 Chapter 6

    Kedi walked out of the room and saw all the other woman. She thought that they were more beautiful and defiantly richer than her. So she decided to go out on the deck and take a nap. When she got there and watched the wind sway the treesshe began to fall asleep. Soon, to Kedi,she was woken by Alassie.


    " How long have you been out here?" asked Alassie.


    " I don''t know I just went to asleep," said Kedi.


    " Well it''s time for lunch," Alassie said smiling.


    " Good, because I am hungry," Kedi said as her stomach growled, then she laughed.


    As they sit at the table, all the other woman around them looked not friendly at all. So Alassie and Kedi got up and atetogether at their own table.


    " What do you say, we go to the stables after lunch?" asked Alassie.


    " Sounds great," said Kedi. So they continued to eat while talking about the events that hadwent on that morning. They finally finished their supper and saw that they were the only two left. They laughed, usually they are the first ones done at their house. After cleaning up there mess, they headed to the stables.


    When they arrived at the stables they saw Thranduil dismounting his horse. AsThranduil walked by them andbowed.

    " I want the most misbehaved horse than no one wants to ride" said Alassie. This didn''t surprise Kedi. She knew that Alassie loved themisbehaved horse that no one rides.


    " Well that would be Duke. No one can ride him," said Thranduil not showing his concern for her.


    " What about you," he said looking at Kedi.


    " I want the most calm one," she said smiling.


    " Okay then go find your horses," said Thranduil. Kedi found a horse named Bell and decided to ride her. Alassie found Duke and saw that he was scared. Alassie gently approached him trying to calm him andlet him know that she wasn''t going to harm his. Alassie was in the stall with him and would only pet him whenhe would relax and put his ears up.


    " You coming," said Thranduil rounding the corner.


    " I will catch up withyou later. I want Duke to get used to me before I ride him.


    " Okay," said Thranduil.So Thranduil and Kedi left to ride.

 Chapter 7

    " So what is your name," said Thranduil.


    " Kedi," said Kedi.


    " That is a beautiful name," said Thranduil smiling.


    " Thank you," said Kedi blushing. They rode in silence for a few minutes. Then Thranduil asked


    " Would you like to see the kingdom?"


    " Sure," said Kedi. Kedi wanted toride with him on the same horse as Thranduil, so she made up an excuse to ride with him.


    " But my horse is tried," she lied.


    " Oh well I guess you will have to ride with me," he said even though he could read though her lie. So Kedi dismounted and Thranduil helped her up on his horse and began to tour the outside of the castle. Meanwhile Alassie was becoming more acquainted with Duke. She was now leading himaroundoutside and he was perfectly calm. He was already used to a saddle but no one would ride him.A half an hour later Alassie decided she would ride him.


    Thranduil andKedi had finished up there tour around the outside part of the castle, Kedi went off to find Alassie who wasn''t in the stables where they last saw her and so did Thranduil.     Alassie had gotten the saddle on him with no troubles so decided to get on him. At first he was slightly tense but it got better. She walked him for a little bit and decided to put him into a trot. When she did Duke reared up and she fell off his back, but instead offalling onto the ground she felt hands catch her. When she looked up it was Thranduil.


    " Thanks for catching me," she said blushing. Duke shot off in a run. Alassie slide out of Thranduil''s arms and said,


    " I better go after him," Alassie said turning away.


    " Do you need me to come with you?" asked Thranduil.


    " No, but thanks for asking," she said run away from him. She had just realized that she really liked him but she wanted to be friends with him first but she took the next step. Thranduil was confused. Something wasn''t right about her but he didn''t worry about it.


    Alassie foundDuke grazing on some grass and slowly walked up to him.He greeted her and the look onhim almost seem as if he was sorry formaking her fall to the ground. She grabbed his reigns and brought him back to the stables and brushed him down. When she was finished she set out to find Thranduil and tell him that she wanted to start out being friends before they went any further in the relationship.

 Chapter 8

    As she looked from him she realized that she should probably shower before she talked to him, because she stunk from the stables. When she reached her room she saw that Kedi wasn''t there. So she quickly showered and instead of looking for Thranduil she went looking for Kedi. After hours of searching she began to worry, but soonher mind would be on something else.


    After lookingin several rooms,she came upon a room where she could heresomething but wasn''t sureif it was talking or something else. When she opened the door she saw Thranduil and a girl kissing. When she saw the girl it was Kedi.


    " I am sorry," she said turning and shutting the door behind her. Even though she wanted to startout just asfriends seeing someone kiss him made her mad. While she was walking away she her the voice of Thranduil coming behind her. Not wanting to talk to him she ran until she didn''t she him behind her. When she reached her room and shut it and locked it. She didn''t cry but shewalked heavily around the room. Trying to calm herself down and telling her that its something she doesn''t need to be mad about, but in fact that she needed to be happy for Kedi.The pacing somewhat help but she thought that seeing Duke might help. So she went down to the stables where she talked toDuke. She felt a lot better and went back to her room where she would get ready forbed.


    The next morning she got up before Kedi did which was unusually for herbut decided she would write a note to Kedi saying sorry for the way she acted last night. After she finished writing it she saw a note the was slide under the door.It was address to her. When she open it she read the note. Thranduil wanted to meet up with her at the stables.So she showered, got dressed,ate breakfast, and headed to the stables. When she got there she saw Thranduil. Before he could talk Alassie said,

    " Well you can try," he said smiling.Alassie smiled and headed for Duke''s stall, but he wasn''t there. She turned around to see Thranduil holding Duke''s reigns and he was all saddle up.


    " Thanks," said Alassiesmiling. She grabbed the saddle horn and got up ontoDuke. He almost seemed as if he wanted to be ridden. Thranduil went over tohis horse and got up on him. Then they started off riding. After a few minute of walking the horses Thranduil said,


    " You want to gofast?"


    "Is that even a question," she laughed, "of course I do." Thranduil laughed as well. A littlenervous Alassie kicked Duke, butthis time she didn''t fall off. They both races around the castle. This time Alassie won by a lot. Her and Duke made a great team.After that, they starting walking their horsesto cool them down,then they talked about things they did and didn''t like.

 Chapter 9

    Months went on and both Kedi''s and Alassie''s relationship grew stronger with Thranduil. There were only three woman left until Thranduil would have a queen. Alassie became worried that the relationship wasn''t strong enough even though she was ready to take the next step into courting. Kedi was confident in hers. Kedi had gotten a letter to meet with Thranduil to dine with him. Kedi was excited and Alassie was happy for her. While Kedi was getting Alassie decided she would go for a walk. While on her walk she ran into Thranduil.


    " Hello," she said smiling.


    " Hello," he said smiling, " where are you off to?"


    " Oh just walking around and getting ready to go practice my fighting skills," she said still smiling.


    " May I join you," he asked.


    " Sure," she said. So they walked and talked until they reached the training area. When they walked in Alassie grabbed a sword and so did Thranduil. They circled around each other watching each other closely. Alassie swung under and Thranduil block it. Thranduil swung to the left Alassie blocked then swung up and knocking his sword away. Thranduil kicked her sword out of her hand now they both were going after their swords.Their battle went on until they both were able to get the sword to each others chest. They laughed then draw back. They stared at each other then leaned in and kiss. The kiss gave her hope that there relationship was perfectly fine. When the kiss was over Thranduil realized that he need to get ready for his date with Kedi.


    " I wish we could battle more but I have to go," he said.


    " That''s okay I need to work Duke anyway," said Alassie. Thranduil smiled than turned away. Alassiethen started walking toward the stables. When she arrived Duke was happy to greeted her.     Kedi was excited todine with Thranduil. She put on a long purple, dress on and prepared herself to greet him. She wished that Alassie was here as she could calm her, but it was time togo. She was escorted to the dinning room where Thranduil was sitting.


    " Please sit," he said pointing to the sit next to him thanstanding up and pulling it out from her.


    " Thank you," she said. After eating a few bites of food she said,


    "This meal is delicious."


    " Thank you," he said smiling. Kedi smiled back. Thranduil grabbed her hand and said,


    " Kedi I really like you and I want to get to know you even more than we have."


    " Me too," she said smiling. After that they kissed. The kiss was very intense. One could say it came very close to a make out, but Kedi wouldn''t let it go that far. After supper was over Kedi came back to her room where she found Alassie painting.


    " What are you painting," Kedi said.


    " Oh just the sun set," Alassiereplied, " How did your date go?"


    " It wasbeyond words,"Kedi said smiling, " as is your painting.


    " Thank you," she said smiling. There was a knock on the door thentwo letters were slipped under the door. Both were address to them.


    " You open yours first," saidAlassie.


    "Okay," said Kedi. Her face light up as she read it in her head.


    " Well what does it say?" asked Alassie.


    " I get to stay," said Kedi.


    " Good for you," Alassie said smiling.


    " Open yours now," Kedi said.


    " Okay I will,"Alassie said. After readingher mouth dropped openand tears came toher eyes.


    " What does it say?" Kedi said smiling.

 Chapter 10

    "I would be leaving, but Thranduil wants me to be Captain of the Guard. So you could say this is a good thing," Alassie saidtrying to hold back moretear, " and Duke is my horse." That made her smile.


    " Oh I so sorry for the Thranduil thing but I am happy that you will still be here with me and that your Captain of the Guard now," said Kedi. After a few minutes of silence Alassie said,


    " I am going to go to bed."


    " Okay," said Kedi," but are you sure your okay and not need to talk."


    " Yes, I am sure," Alassie said slightly laughing.


    The next morning they got up, ate breakfast, then got dressed.


    " So what do you plan on doing today?" Alassie asked.


    " I was actually thinking about hanging out with you. We haven''t done that in awhile," said Kedi.


    " That sound great," Alassie said smiling.


    " So what do want to do?" asked Alassie.


    " Well I would like to learn how to fight with a sword. I am already great with a bow," said Kedi.


    " Okay," Alassie said, " this day is already sounding fun."


    When they arrived at the training area Alassie asked,


    " Are you the only woman left?"


    " No, there''s another woman"Kedi said.


    " Oh," Alassie said. Changing the subject Alassie said,


    " So shall I teach you how to fight with asword."


    " Yes," Kedi said smiling.Theyboth grabbed a sword.


    " Now in sword fighting you have to watch theopponent. The best way to do that is circling them." Kedi nodded and the both started to circle them. Alassie swung slowly to the left and told Kedi to block it. But before she could go any further in training, Fern was sent togetAlassiewho wasassigned to her first mission.


    " I am sorry but I have to go," said Alassie.


    " Oh it''s okay," said Kedi. Alassieput the sword she was using awayand startedback to themeeting room where she was introduce to some other elves she would be working with along with Fern.

    " Well done," Alassie said to the other elves, " you fought well, now we shall head back." And they did so. When they reached the castle Fern said,


    " Don''t forget you have to tell the King about what happen."


    " I won''t," she said trying not to show how she didn''t want to talk to him.


    After she finished her supper she prepared herself to tell Thranduilthereport on the spiders. She stood up and began to walk to his cambers. After taking a few steps she stop. She couldn''t do it, but she swallowed her fear and disregarded all the feeling she used to have for him and began to walk to his camber. When she arrived she knocked on the door.


    " Come in," came a gentle voice. Alassie opened the door and walked in.


    " I am here to give you the reports on the spiders," she said. Thranduil nodded for her to continue on. Looking him in the eyes she said,


    " We cleared them all as ordered and are ready forour next assignment."
