《Inheritor of the two dragons》


 Prologue

    ¡°You can¡¯t run away from me!¡±


    A person clad in darkness declared as he chased after a heavily injured young man. The young man was bleeding from his chest that was pierced only a few inches away from the heart. The young man although wanting to live and survive this ordeal can¡¯t stop fatigue from kicking in.


    The blood loss and exhaustion coupled with the freezing cold of the night the young man dropped to the ground like a rug.


    The pursuers shadow stopped only a few inches away from the young man and slowly unsheathed his blade.


    ¡°You finally stopped¡±


    The shadow said as he walked towards the young man slowly. The shadow walked in a jagged manner as even he has used up a lot of energy just to chase after the young man. But in the eyes of the man the shadow looked like a demon of hell slowly coming closer.


    ¡°Why?¡±


    The young man asked in a feeble voice as he raised his eyes to glimpse at the shadow face.


    ¡°Why you ask? Isn¡¯t it very clear to you why someone would take your life?¡±


    The shadow answered angrily as he raised his sword preparing to slash down at the young man¡¯s neck. The young man seeing this sighed as his expression turned solemn as he accepted his death. The shadow noticing the change in the young man exploded in anger and stabbed the sword on the ground next to the young man''s face.


    ¡°Aren¡¯t you going to kill me?¡±


    The young man asked the shadow, hearing the young man¡¯s words the shadow was startled and stomped at the ground angrily.


    ¡°You¡¯re gonna die you know! Do you understand what this even means?¡±


    ¡°Yes, with my death you¡¯ve proven to the world that you are the strongest¡­ Al¡±


    The shadow nodded at first but hearing the name that the young man uttered. He reflexively got mad and retorted, ¡°How many time do I have to tell you it¡¯s Allston!¡±


    ¡°haha! you never change do you, my friend¡±


    The man named called Allen finally discovered that his cover was blown. He used his [shadow assault] skill to sneak up on the young man and kill him. It is also a fact that these two people are friends, very close one¡¯s at that.A case of theft: this story is not rightfully on Amazon; if you spot it, report the violation.


    ¡°For you to find out who I am¡­¡±


    ¡°Now now, Allen it was pretty obvious from your skill [shadow assault] and also the way you reacted to my stupid question. In the whole world even the most powerful assassins or figures would show respect to me even when they issue a challenge. Among all the people in this world only you would talk to me in that manner¡±


    ¡°Ugh, I don¡¯t care anymore because this day will be your last Golm!¡±


    As Allen said this, the sound of something huge cutting through the air was heard. He reflexively looked up and what he saw made him click his tongue.


    ¡°Even in the verge of death you are still able use this spell¡­ just what I would expect from you, Golm¡±


    ¡°This shouldn¡¯t have been used if I knew earlier that you were the enemy. If I knew I would have happily accepted my death¡±


    ¡°Hmph! Don¡¯t look down on me I can run away from this easily¡±


    Though just as Allen tried to escape he was snared by dark tentacles that came out of the ground. The tentacles wrapped around his whole body leaving only his head outside. ¡°What¡¯s this?!¡± Allen asked angrily as he glared at Golm.


    ¡°I made this as I fell a pretty great trap wouldn¡¯t you agree, I don¡¯t think even in at my best would I be able to make something like this. The seal is the darkness style [soul shackles] and the approaching meteorite is my light style [starfall]. In all honesty both of us will meet our ends here¡±


    Allen was speechless, his old friend/rival/enemy is able to create something like this at the verge of death in his weakest state. But he on the other hand was could not even kill Golm. This made him feel even more anger, jealousy and frustration as he roared to the heavens.


    ¡°WHY IS IT ALWAYS HIM! I¡¯VE BEEN DOING MY BEST BUT WHY? Why is it always Golm who get¡¯s everything¡±


    His anger turned to sorrow as tears streamed down his face.


    ¡°What do you mean that I get everything?¡±


    Golm asked Allen and to this, ¡°You have everything you could want money, strength and¡­ love. How could you understand me huh!. Since we were kids we always competed against one another but every time you win and become stronger¡±


    Hearing those words Golm remembered the past, he indeed won every time and he does live a better and fulfilled life than than Allen. But that didn¡¯t happen due to fate. Understanding the source of his friends hate he said, ¡°I didn¡¯t get everything you know¡±.


    With that Allen got even more angered, ¡°You say that but have you ever lost a person you loved so dear?¡±


    ¡°Trisha, Alex, Lina, Luna and Claire¡± Golm replied as the dying words of all five women echoed in his head. Allen on the other hand remembered those days when he saw the five girls lying lifeless on his rivals arms. On that day Golm had no emotion in his eyes and he cursed him at that day. But now that he see¡¯s the deep sadness in his friend''s eyes as he said those five names he understood that Golm hid his emotion deep within as that was the day he had to battle against the demon king.


    ¡°Have you ever felt the feeling of loneliness?¡± But Allen didn¡¯t stop he understood that but he still hates Golm and fired another question.


    ¡°You are my only friend¡± Golm with a sincere expression said this as a tear cascaded down his cheeks. His emotions were clearly transmitted and Allen receiving this felt extremely down.


    ¡°You¡­ if I tried looking at you in a different perspective I could have¡­¡±


    Scenes flashed before Allen¡¯s eyes, a scene where he was happily talking with Golm and his party. A scene where the whole City came to protect him and his family. And finally him standing side by side with Golm as they shaped the new world.


    ¡°You don¡¯t need to worry Allen, I¡¯m sure that this world and it¡¯s people will forgive you. After all the only one who could cast this spell is me¡±


    ¡°...¡±


    He didn¡¯t understand at first but soon realized what Golm meant. But before he could say anything the gigantic rock fell from the sky and killed the two weekend friends.


    After their deaths two lights floated out of the gigantic rock. One was a pure black stirp of light that glowed in white, the other was the opposite a white strip of light glowing black. The two lights soon flew to each other and combined creating a yin and yang symbol. Then the two lights shot up to the sky and disappeared from the world.

 Chapter 1: A star without it’s glow

    In the small town of Heinsten ruled by the Kingdom of Clisto, a young boy the age of ten was running. Carrying a lot of weirdly shaped metals and wood works he was running away from an older kid who was twice his size. This young lad is Cedric Joules, the son of a blacksmith and a woodcarver. The thing he holds are obviously his parents works and the kids chasing him are bullies.


    ¡°Cedric! Come back here!¡±


    The boy who looked to be 13 years old shouted at the running Cedric. On the other hand Cedric paid no heed and simply dashed to his house. Soon he arrived and was able to get inside. Inside was his father and mother sipping tea having an afternoon break.


    ¡°Oh Cedric back already? What happened to playing with your friends?¡±


    Cedric¡¯s father Clarence Joules asked his son. After all Cedric a few minutes ago said that he would play with his friends but then he immediately came back. He thought that he was getting bullied again so he looked out the window and saw a group of three boys yelling, ¡°Coward!¡± in front of their house. Closing the window he came closer to his son and comforted him saying.


    ¡°Don¡¯t worry Cedric, when you grow older I¡¯m sure you would become a lot stronger than those kids out there.¡±


    ¡°You keep saying that but that will never happen!¡±


    Cedric knowing that he really will not become strong like his father said ran up to his room and locked himself in.


    ¡°You know you should stop telling him that he will get stronger and make him hope, after all you know very well that our son has Letonia¡±


    The person who said this is Cedric¡¯s mother Mine Joules. And Clarence could only look down in anger as he tightened his fist. Letonia is an illness that only one out of a million people get. This is not a virus but an inborn disability.


    In this world a person is measured on their strength or magic. As it is like this people are born with two energies inside them, Aura and mana. Aura is the energy that seeps into the bodies muscles and makes them able to use martial arts and the like, this aura is in every person and without it a person is considered dead. Mana on the other hand is the energy of a person''s soul, the mana is used to cast spells and use magic without it a person is considered to be without a soul so they are considered dead.


    With this Letonia is a disability wherein the person has a soul and can move but he doesn¡¯t have aura nor mana. This type of person is normally pale and skinny he would easily get tired and is prone to sickness disease and easily injured. That¡¯s why Cedric is criticized not only by the other children but also by the adults in the village.


    ¡°Just because he has Letonia doesn¡¯t mean that he can¡¯t achieve anything!¡±


    ¡°But you do know that if he wants to achieve something he would have to put in more effort than those around him while putting up with the criticism¡±


    ¡°I know that¡±


    The two fell silent and they went into the living room and continued to sip their tea.


    While the couple were thinking of how to help their son get back some confidence, the very person they are worrying about is happily playing with the dolls he created. The metals and woodworks he was carrying are all dolls. But these dolls were not made by his father nor mother but by himself.


    For a while now Cedric knew about his situation unlike other kids his age he was more sensible to his surroundings. He heard his parents talk about his illness and he understood why he was treated as such.The narrative has been taken without permission. Report any sightings.


    ¡°All of those kids can just do what they want, who needs them when I have you guys with me¡±


    He happily conversed with his dolls though this may look weird to some these dolls actually have some sort of life in them. Cedric knew from a young age that he could see things others couldn¡¯t normally see, these are the spirits of nature. They didn¡¯t have any humanoid form only blobs of light but Cedric for some reason could sense their feelings.


    With this Cedric would occasionally asked his mother or father for some materials like iron, copper or wood. He got tools for his 5th birthday that he used to make these dolls. The metals on the other hand was molded with the help of the spirits. These spirits are forces of nature that have high levels of mana and they continuously absorb it from the atmosphere.


    Cedric doesn¡¯t understand it now but soon he will find out that his ability to see and befriend these spirits would be the turning point in his life.


    ¡°Cedric, if you can hear me could you open the door¡±


    A voice Cedric was very familiar with, it belonged to his mother. Although he has no mana or aura his senses are already inhuman, so much that he was able to hear his parents conversation a while ago. This strength of his he awakened it when he was 10 and at the same day he found out about his illness. Walking to the door he signalled the dolls to stop moving and opened the door slightly showing only half of his little face.


    ¡°What is it?¡±


    He gloomily asked his mother in hopes that she would leave him be like usual but what happened next surprised him. His mother Mine would normally go back to the kitchen and make him his favorite foods and then wait for him to go down. And Cedric would also regularly clean his room in a sense his mother rarely entered his room.


    ¡°Oh¡±


    Mine was not able to hide the surprise in her voice when she saw the dolls on top of Cedric¡¯s bed. There are more than a dozen of them and they are all made from either wood or iron. Mine was able to understand her son being able to make this after all they did gift him a tool set in his 5th birthday. But the iron was perfectly shappen and this can only be made in his father¡¯s shop using the heat of the coal.


    ¡°How did you make these?¡± she asked Cedric as she picked up one of the metal dolls.


    ¡°Of course I used the tool kit mom and dad gave me 5 years ago¡± he answered and pretended not to see the iron doll his mother was holding.


    ¡°But those tools could only make wooden dolls¡± she pursued further


    At this time Cedric knew that if he continued his mother would find out about his secret so he pushed her out of the room. He knew this was not something that he should be doing but he didn¡¯t want his mother to know about this. He talked about this with some people and they all said he was going crazy, he doesn¡¯t want his mother to look at him in that way.


    He snatched the doll back and closed the door locking it. Mine who was on the other side was flabbergasted but she understood that whatever her son was doing it was not something she could help him with. When she saw the wooden dolls she was amazed at the details they had, she was also keen enough to see the doll that was modeled after her and Clarence. With the smile of a proud parent she went down stairs and told Clarence the about what she saw.


    ¡°That was close¡±


    Cedric sighed inwardly as he looked at the dolls that started moving again. One of the dolls floated towards Cedric, it was modeled as a little boy the same age as Cedric. It¡¯s had no facial features as Cedric wasn¡¯t able to think about anything good for it. Although almost all dolls had no facial features there were two at the very back of his room that did. The spirits didn¡¯t enter these dolls as they knew who it was modeled after.


    ¡°Hey hey what are you doing?¡±


    The doll that floated towards Cedric started rubbing itself on his body. It was made of metal but the surface was smooth although a little hard Cedric felt the comfort it wanted to give. His expression turned better and he happily continued talking with the spirits.


    ¡°By the way, do you guys know of a way to cure me?¡±


    Cedric understood that these spirits had powers and a large pool of mana so he thought they might be able to help him in some way. But to this the dolls all lowered their heads dejectedly. Cedric understood what they meant but he wasn¡¯t dejected or anything instead a strange light flashed in his eyes and he declared to the spirits, ¡°Well this just proves that nothing is perfect right¡±.


    The dolls then raised their heads and all looked at Cedric. Feeling their gazes Cedric continued.


    ¡°My disease can¡¯t be cured by even the powerful spirits of nature right? Then that means that everything has a flaw, with that as the number of flaws increase so does the number of strengths¡±


    The dolls tilted their heads, with this motion Cedric knew that the spirits didn¡¯t understand his meaning.


    ¡°Well think of tit this way you guys are powerful spirits right but as powerful as you may be you still couldn¡¯t release that magic as you don¡¯t have physical bodies and need to synchronize with humans like you did with me. Also you are bound by the laws of nature which is why you guys are immortal but can¡¯t speak¡±


    With those words the spirits began to understand it and as glided all around Cedric. The boy knew what these spirits were doing as he¡¯s been with them for a long time now and they only do this when he does something good or says something incredible.


    ¡°With that mindset that also means that I have strengths that counteract with my flaws. Even if I have the sickness that prevents me from having mana or aura, I still got to meet you all and even get enhanced senses¡±


    Cedric then lied down on his bed and stared at the ceiling for a while.


    ¡°I can¡¯t use martial arts nor can I cast spells but I can make dolls¡±


    With that thought in mind the boy started studying all the books in his room. They are all books on metallurgy and crafting that came from his parents. If he can¡¯t fight with his power then he would create dolls who could fight for him. Of course the spirits wouldn¡¯t be the ones fighting as he doesn¡¯t want to do that so he wants to find a way to make an autonomous doll that doesn¡¯t need a nature spirit to move it.


    ¡°Okay now time to study!¡±

 Chapter 2: The demon’s attack

    It took Cedric a whole night to come up with a concept for his doll but after a the whole night he still wasn¡¯t able to find a good energy source. In his miniature dolls that the spirits would posses the power source and core are all done by the spirit. But Cedric made it his goal to not use spirits but create something like a core.


    ¡°Hmm~~Ah! I could use this!¡±


    The floating dolls possessed by spirits gathered around Cedric and looked at the page he was staring at. On it was the image of a demon beast, demons beast are beast consumed by demonic energies in the world. But there are some that came directly from the abyss but that is a story for another time. Anyway all demon beast have magic cores, these cores generate and release mana thus making demon beast a frightening existence. Imagine a gigantic wolf suddenly pouncing on you but when you try to fight back it releases a fireball from it¡¯s mouth.


    ¡°But where could I see find one?¡±


    Cedric didn¡¯t mind the danger but what he wanted to know was where he could find a demon beast. After all demon beast are frightening creatures that¡¯s why villages are normally built away from the forest they inhabit.


    But Cedric doesn¡¯t want to give up. He took out a map of the kingdom that he found in his father''s shop. The map clearly shows where his village is at. It was a few kilometers away from a supposed beast sanctuary.


    ¡°Oh I might find some here!¡±


    He said as he pointed at a the sanctuary, these sanctuaries are places that are covered by a barrier. Only humans can freely enter and exit it the beast inside on the other hand are left inside for the materials on their bodies.


    In the world there are 3 types of beast Demon, Mystical and Spirit beast. Spirit beast are beast who have failed to transcend to become a nature spirit. But they retain their original species and instead gain powerups. These beast like demon beast have magic cores. But unlike demon beast that are normally mindless animals, spirit beast have their own consciousness.


    ¡°Hey do you guys know of a fast way to get to this place?¡±


    Cedric asked the spirits but what he got was a no. First of all the spirits want to help Cedric and they know that he can¡¯t take this sanctuary on.


    ¡°What should I do now?¡±


    Cedric was in a slum and didn¡¯t know what to do but as he was down (knock knock) he heard knocking on his door followed by a sweet voice.


    ¡°Cedric it¡¯s time for breakfast!¡±


    ¡°Coming!¡±


    Cedric replied and hid all his work so his mother won¡¯t see it. He then opened the door and made his way to the dining room. In the dining room his father would occasionally take glances towards Cedric, he did this almost everyday but today he was unusually glancing more.


    ¡°Uhm¡­ dad do you have something you want to say to me?¡±


    Cedric already knew the reason for his father¡¯s strange behaviour. His mother saw what he made yesterday and it is most likely that she told his father about it. After all Cedric wasted most of his time in his room.


    ¡°Well I just wanted to say¡­ I¡¯m proud of you son¡±


    Clarence said that and patted Cedric¡¯s head, this was not the first time that Clarence patted Cedric but this was the first time it was for his achievement. Normally he would be patted because he was down or bullied. It was simply done to comfort him but now it was due to his hard work.


    ¡°Don¡¯t worry dad, I will surely make you proud someday!¡±


    He said as he smiled towards Clarence, this smile looks normal but to the couple this was something they rarely see. Cedric since young was despised by the village people so seeing him smile due to genuine happiness is rare. So seeing this smile filled with his feelings the couple were enveloped in joy.


    ¡°Are you sure about this son?¡±


    The couple said as they looked at their son that was heading to town. Today Cedric said he would go around town and look for friends. The couple really wanted their son to have confidence and hoped that he wouldn¡¯t come running home with a face full of snot and tears again. But with the change in Cedric¡¯s atmosphere the two couldn¡¯t help but believe in what he said.


    ¡°Okay now I¡¯m out of their site let¡¯s go guys!¡±


    Although he told his parents that he would go around town the truth is he was heading for the forest. Cedric knew his strengths and weaknesses and that everyone has a flaw but there is no saying that there are no ways to get rid of these flaws.


    Cedric followed the floating dolls as they led Cedric into the forest, soon after a walking a decent amount of distance they arrived at a cave. The cave entrance was small making many large animals and not notice it. Even humans just brush it off because first of all who would fit in there second is what would type of thing would be in there lastly snakes hide in small tight places.


    ¡°Uhm¡­ I will go in there?¡±If you spot this narrative on Amazon, know that it has been stolen. Report the violation.


    Cedric was hesitant as he knew that there would normally be snakes in this place but the spirits entered and so he put his trust on his friends and entered.


    ¡°Wow¡­¡±


    Getting inside the cave and looking around Cedric was filled with awe as he looked at the scenery unfolding in front of him. There is a large lake in the cave, the top of the cave is filled with crystals that release a soft glow illuminating the water and making it sparkle.


    The spirits again gathered around Cedric but this time they carried him and threw him in the water. At first Cedric thought he would drown after all he couldn¡¯t swim but most importantly his physical strength was lower than the weakest person in the world.


    ¡°Huh?¡±


    Cedric then realized he wasn¡¯t drowning but instead his body was filled with energy like he can do anything. He looked at the spirits and seeing them his eyes slowly filled with tears but before they started falling he wiped them off and smiled.


    [this is not the time to cry, they did this so I can try I should not betray their trust!]


    With newfound motivation Cedric began training. He started by feeling the energy in the pool. The pool was not any normal pool it¡¯s a pool of condensed magical energy. In other words mana that took a liquid form. He tried drinking this and when he did he felt his body was revitalized.


    ¡°But I also need Aura energy¡±


    Hearing his small mutter the spirits dejectedly lowered their heads. Cedric comforted them saying, ¡°It¡¯s alright¡±. Well he can¡¯t wish for everything to just magically appear right, especially aura. This type of energy is part of the bodies of all living beings and without this they will lose their energy or power to live.


    This is one of the most important differences in mana and aura, mana is circulated in the atmosphere but this aura is not. It only exist inside living beings and taking it would require killing. Cedric would never want to have the blood of another living being on his hands well¡­ at least for now.


    ¡°Wait if I do this I could reinforce my body using mana!¡±


    Cedrick happily yelled out but after a few trials he immediately found a flaw. Reinforcing his body would require the mana in the lake in other words he would need a huge reservoir of mana and something like this won¡¯t always be present.


    As Cedric was thinking a spirit entered his body. He didn¡¯t mind but then he felt energy circulating around his muscles and blood vessels. He felt his soul was refreshed and his whole being changed. He carefully analyzed this state and began thinking of a way to replicate it.


    The spirit soon exited from Cedric¡¯s body and instead of staying in the water Cedric walked to a corner of the cave and started meditating.


    A few hours after Cedric started meditating he opened his eyes and grasped for air. He then saw that in front of him are the spirits and a pile of fruits. With a smile Cedric partook of the food and began saying his impression.


    ¡°I found that magic circulates in the atmosphere fairly fast and at massive amounts. With this I might be able to use magic but to do this I need to be one with nature. But to do this I need to be a spirit but becoming a spirit is impossible¡±


    The spirits with their doll bodies sat on the ground. Cedric saw this and was taken under the spell of cuteness. He then slapped himself and began thinking again of how to manage the control of mana.


    ¡°Well time to continue¡±


    With those words Cedric began to meditate again.


    A Few hours passed and again Cedric opened his eyes but he was now calm. The reason he stopped meditating is because it was already afternoon and the sun will set soon so he has to get home.


    ¡°Hey have you seen it yet!¡±


    As Cedric was walking back unnoticed he heard the exchange between two adults of the village.


    ¡°No well it¡¯s turning dark so we should head back¡±


    ¡°You¡¯re right but seriously why would a demon beast suddenly appear here?¡±


    ¡°Well this does happen once a year, just pray that you don¡¯t get killed¡±


    ¡°Heh¡­ I¡¯ll pray that useless kid with Letonia get killed¡±


    ¡°Shush, you know who his parents are? Those two are very important to our village what would we do without a woodcarver and a blacksmith¡±


    ¡°Yeah yeah let¡¯s just go I don¡¯t want to be demon food¡±


    Those words were directly targeted at Cedric and he knew that he was hated. But since he had his parents he could still have hopes on a good house to return to.


    Later that night Cedric¡¯s parents didn¡¯t come home, with the new he heard about a demon beast Cedric can¡¯t help but worry all night he prayed that his parent would come home safely.


    ¡°What are we gonna do now!¡±


    ¡°Are you serious?!¡±


    ¡°It¡¯s by the gate¡±


    Early morning Cedric woke up because there was a commotion outside. He looked out and saw that a lot of people were crowding in front of his house. Cedric¡¯s world stopped at that point and his heart was beating fast. He turned pale and did his best to walk out of the house.


    ¡°Hey it¡¯s that kid¡±


    ¡°I heard they went out looking for him because he went missing yesterday¡±


    ¡°Ehhh so he¡¯s the reason for this huh¡±


    Lot¡¯s of voices converged and all said the same thing. Cedric didn¡¯t want to believe it he didn¡¯t want to. They say it but he knew that it was just the town playing tricks on him.


    [It couldn¡¯t be possible right that they died looking for me...]


    Cedric¡¯s mind went blank and he mindlessly walked towards the gate. There what he saw was not his parents smiling at him. But a horrendous bloody pile of flesh and blood, what¡¯s more the clothes on the recognizable body parts were clearly the clothes his parents wore yesterday.


    Cedric didn¡¯t want to believe it and looked around and at the side of the gate there was the proof. Two heads ripped from their bodies were at the side of the gate, they both belonged to people Cedric knew very well it really is his mom and dad.


    ¡°MOTHER! FATHER!¡±


    Cedric screamed as he ran to the two heads but he stumbled on a rock and fell. He raise his head and what he saw was the face of his parents covered in their own blood. Cedric looked at his father''s face.


    [Well I just wanted to say¡­ I¡¯m proud of you son]


    He remembered his father¡¯s words at the same time just yesterday they were happily eating lunch together now he wakes up seeing his father¡¯s bloodied corpse. He then looked at his mother and remembered how she would try to comfort him. Making his favourite food and making him smile his mother did everything for him¡­


    ¡°Mother¡­ Father...¡±


    ¡°Uwaaa~¡±


    He cried the villagers soon went away and headed towards the village chief''s hut. No one cared about the boy crying over his parents death the all simply wanted to run away.


    Night fell and the boys stopped crying, the villagers were all packing their things and putting them in wagons. It is pretty obvious that they plan to leave and run away. Cedric didn¡¯t mind them, after all it was obvious to him that they had no plan to bring him along. The only reason the villagers accepted him was because his father and mother are important to the village. But now that their dead they have no use for the kid.


    ¡°Hey hurry up or the beast might just attack¡±


    ¡°Heh kid you could prove some use now, be the bait and keep the monster here so we could escape. Doing this will give value to your pitiful worthless life¡±


    The village chief told Cedric and soon the caravan left. All that¡¯s left of the village are deserted houses and Cedric. When the people left the spirits gathered around Cedric and were releasing a very apologetic feel, Cedric understood.


    The reason his parents died was because they were looking for him and the reason he wasn¡¯t in the village is he was training with the spirits. Although that was the case the spirits knew nothing of this demons beast and furthermore he knew if he only told his parents the truth then it wouldn¡¯t have turned out like this.


    ¡°Don¡¯t worry instead could you help me bury my parents¡±


    A light brown ball of light flashed and the ground moved to cover his parents. His parents bodies that were mutilated were put back together and buried in one piece. A cross made of stone popped out of the ground and the grave was completed.


    A dark green light flashed and flowers grew on the grave. Cedric thanked the spirits and after paying his respects he made sure that he would get revenge.


    ¡°Tomorrow I will get that beast, even if it¡¯s the last thing I do¡±


    When he said this the spirits went into a frenzy but Cedric calmed them down and asked, ¡°Please help me¡±. The spirits knew that Cedric was serious and they could do nothing but say accept his plan. But if things turn out badly they would do all they can to make sure that Cedric doesn¡¯t die.

 Chapter 3: One with Magic

    ¡°Ughh¡­ I still can¡¯t control it¡±


    Inside the cave with a lake of condensed mana Cedric is scratching his head in frustration next to the lake. This is a fairly common scene that the spirits see everyday after his parents death. It¡¯s been a week since his parents died and he¡¯s gotten over his sadness. But that sadness was replaced with anger and a drive to get revenge.


    ¡°I need to get stronger and get my revenge on that beast¡±


    Cedric once again went into meditation and tried to be one with the mana in the atmosphere.


    Although people can take in mana from the atmosphere and use it to fill their soul the problem is they need to meditate and store it. And if that reservoir inside their bodies are emptied they need to meditate and refill it.


    Normally people would constantly exhaust their mana pools to slowly increase their capacity but for Cedric with Letonia he couldn¡¯t train the same way. But when he was thrown by the spirits into the pool he found out that he was not only gifted with mana or aura when he was born. It did not mean that he can¡¯t have man in his body.


    Though whenever he has mana in his body it easily escapes his body and dissipates into the atmosphere. At first he simply wanted to be able to control mana and use that which is present in the atmosphere. But after meditating for a few days he found out that the mana used by the spirits did not belong to them.


    Cedric was able to sense mana perfectly with his training in a few days. This is a sign of his engenius which he will not realize till later. But in sensing mana he was able to perceive how the spirits used it. The spirits didn¡¯t actually have bodies created by mana instead they are mana itself. Though unlike the free flowing mana spirits have their own thoughts and conscience, in essence they are beings that are one with the mana in the world.


    With that concept in thought Cedric continously meditates for hours on end trying to copy the spirits.


    Seeing as Cedric had returned to meditating on of the spirits floated out of the cave. It was a the fire spirit that helps Cedric make the iron dolls. The spirits would do this everyday, Cedric is still a child and there is a wild beast running loose so the spirits are left to get food for Cedric.


    There are about 20 spirits that are Cedric¡¯s friends, they would take turn on gathering fruits and berries from the forest. Today was the fire spirits turn and it immediately went out.


    The fire spirit soon arrived at an apple tree that he gets the food from. He then looks at the berries that grow around it and started collecting. Spirits have no physical form so they use mana to pick and carry things. If a spirit seer or a mage saw this scene unfolding they would be filled with surprise.


    Spirits are rare existences that only a few people would be able to encounter. This people are called spirit seers and they are people who borrow the spirits magic. But spirits seers don¡¯t befriend spirits they actually use spells and seals to turn these spirits into their own personal slaves.


    ¡°Graaa!¡±


    The roar of a beast resounded through the forest shocking the fire spirit making it drop some of the apples it picked. It looked at the source and saw a huge pillar of fire sprout from the direction of the roar. The spirits immediately picked up the fallen fruits and sped to the cave.

    The fruits were all dropped in front of Cedric as the fire spirit went to the other spirits. The fire spirit floated up and down in front of the other spirits. The other spirits which seem to have understood something began moving. Two earth spirits began covering up the hole with soil, then two nature spirits passed through the wall of earth and covered the cave entrance with thorny bushes. A metal spirit made a lump of iron protruded out of the ground and the fire spirit melted it sealing the closed entrance.


    After that the two nature spirits entered the cave by passing through the walls the two earth spirits then made small holes on the ground for ventilation. Then five wind spirits went into the lake and created a small magic crystal. It was a light yellow and they embedded it in the ceiling. The crystal would creat oxygen from the carbon in the air to help with ventilation.


    ¡°What¡¯s wrong?¡±


    Cedric who should be meditating opened his eyes, he heard a few rumbling sounds and let them pass but then he felt the strange fluctuations of mana and opened his eyes to see what¡¯s happening. He saw the spirits doing some strange things which surprised him. He didn¡¯t just stared at them after seeing their actions instead closed his eyes and felt the fluctuation in mana.


    He found out a lot about how the spirits operate the mana in the atmosphere and how it responds to them. This information added to his idea on becoming one with the world. But once Cedric opened his eyes to thank the spirits he found out that they had blocked the entrance.

    Clenching his fist Cedric was filled with frustration and anger.


    ¡°So I still can¡¯t do anything but hide huh¡±


    Cedric was shown what the fire spirit saw through a mana channel that was directly linked to him from the the spirit. This is how the spirits would usually communicate with him since he was able to sense mana. And what he saw was the huge pillar of fire that sprouted out from a distance in the forest after the roar was heard.


    With this kind of enemy ahead of him Cedric didn¡¯t lose hope but instead was filled with more motivation. He had already set vengeance as his goal and if his target is strong all he has to do is be stronger. What made him sure he could get stronger is the fact he has supporters all around him.


    Well the spirits wanted to take revenge for him but Cedric wanted to do it himself. He couldn¡¯t leave his parents revenge to his friends.


    Also in Cedric¡¯s mind he blames himself for his parents death. If he was just like all the other kids his parent¡¯s wouldn¡¯t have been looking for him in the woods. And if he was more powerful he could¡¯ve done something when he heard about the beast roaming the jungle.


    ¡°I will soon get power and when that time comes I will personally take that beast¡¯ head¡±


    As young as Cedric is his mind is already consumed in darkness. But when he was in this state the spirits gathered around him and sent their feelings towards Cedric. The feelings of the spirits were immediately transmitted to the boy and he shook his head and changed the dark expression on his face.


    ¡°Sorry¡­ I almost got done in by my emotions there¡±


    Cedric snapped out of his confused state and smiled again.

    With that the boy resumed his training while he kept in his mind to never lose his kindness. After all he knows that his parents would want it that way. His parents never despised the village and it¡¯s people no matter how they treated their son. But when things get out of hand they speak up.


    A few days later Cedric was finally able to be one with the mana in the atmosphere. It took him a while to do it but he finally did. To Cedric this was only the beginning as he would slowly become stronger and fight the beast that killed his parents and exact his revenge. But if any other person saw Cedric right now they would not believe their eyes.


    There are only a few races in the world that can be one with nature and none of those races would include humans.


    The world is filled with many different races and only two are able to be in a state similar to spirits but even then these two races could not stay in this state for long. One of these races are the dragons that inhabit the northern continent¡¯s, the dragon race rarely mingle with the other races. But when they do it is either due to an interest in mates or treasure mostly the latter.


    The other race on the other hand are the elves, they inhabit the same continent as the humans and have been living together peacefully. But although they live in peace and harmony there is still racial criticism. Humans are feared due to numbers but these numbers are useless against the elves. Elves have the so called saint state where they become one with nature and have an almost infinite pool of mana. Partnered with their incredibly high magic capabilities and understanding in of the worlds mana flow they are sometimes called demi-gods.


    Due to this the elves always saw humans as lower and not a single elf slave would could be seen in the whole world.


    Cedric didn¡¯t know but right now the simple fact that he became one with the mana in the atmosphere already makes him an existence that will be forever written down in the world''s history books.


    The boy danced around in the air as he occasionally created fireballs in and shot them. Cedric is delighted on what he could do but soon he realized that his body was transparent and he can¡¯t touch anything. He tried going through the walls and he was able to then he realized that he could try fighting the beast like that.


    ¡°Alright time to go¡±


    With shining eyes Cedric floated through the walls but just as he did he heard a voice call out to him.


    ¡°Wait!¡±


    Shocked he turned around only to see the figure of a young girl wearing a green dress. She had short green hair and emerald green eyes. Her lips were a light green while her skin was white and smooth as jade.


    Although it¡¯s the first time Cedric saw the girl he felt a familiar aura coming from her. He unintentionally called out to her.


    ¡°Nature spirit?¡±


    Hearing his words the young girl was delighted and jumped onto him hugging him. If this scene was viewed with the eyes of a regular human they would only see a transparent boy floating in mid air. On the other hand a mage or a spirit seer would only see a transparent boy and a ball of green light intertwined in mid air.


    ¡°Wait if you¡¯re the nature spirit then the others are¡±


    ¡°Yup we all look like this!¡±


    Another voice echoed and he looked behind the nature spirit and saw three other girl looking the same age as the nature spirit.


    ¡°Finally we could talk!¡±


    ¡°Yeah I was thinking when we would be able to talk to each other!¡±

    The three girls were all talking about him making Cedric feel embarrassed. He didn¡¯t think anything was weird after all him being like a ghost is weird enough so seeing this from of the spirits is not something to be surprised about. But what made him flustered was that he took all his clothes to the cave and changed there without minding the spirits. Sometime he would even meditate naked and when he thought about that his face became even more red.


    ¡°Hey Cedric what¡¯s wrong?¡±


    Those words snapped Cedric and he was waving his arms saying ¡°Nothing nothing''s wrong!¡±. But the spirits understood Cedric well, and immediately thought what might be the cause and they realized that if he could converse with them then he could see their true forms.


    ¡°Oh that¡¯s it! Don¡¯t worry you¡¯re still a child so there is nothing to worry about us seeing it¡±


    Hearing those words Cedric realized that although these spirits had the form of young girls in essence they are still spirits that lived for hundred maybe thousand of years. Even if they see his jewels they wouldn¡¯t mind as they probably already saw many in their lifetime. But just as he was calming down one of the spirits spoke.


    ¡°Yeah after all we are the same age so you don¡¯t need to worry¡±


    Then those words made him more shocked. He knew that a relationship between a human and a spirit is not normal but it¡¯s not in any way impossible.


    Though Cedric is still young he already knows about the relationship between a man and a woman. This is because he would regularly hear his parents nighttime activities from his room. It could be said that having heightened senses was a curse in disguise. Though what he heard Cedric was able to understand how human relationships work. So he knew that being seen by the opposite sex was not only embarrassing it was also indecent.


    But when he saw the spirits that all looked so pure and innocent he couldn¡¯t be the act like that so he tried to pretend being pure. But just as he did the fire spirit said.


    ¡°You don¡¯t need to act unlike you we could watch what happens between a man and a woman¡±


    ¡°So you also know¡±


    ¡°Yes¡±


    ¡°Well then I guess I have nothing to worry about¡±


    ¡°Your right, you have nothing to worry about as we will take responsibility for peeping on you!¡±


    The last statement was said by all the spirits at the same time. And those very words shocked Cedric so much that he returned to his original human form and fainted.
