《Icebound Immortal》 Chapter 1: Inheritance An island loomed lonely across a mighty sea, waves crashed against it cliffs, cliffs that was a full hundred meters high. Yet the waves splashed so high that water still splattered on flat land, the island stretched for miles upon miles, the human eye could defiantly not catch its entirety. Upon the flat land laid giant palaces, depicturing an azure hue that sparkled with the rare sight of a bright sun. Some palaces were small, other¡¯s massive as entire cities, on particular azure sparkled palace, a giant serpent slithered its peaks, and it might breathtaking to any normal man. Inside this particular palace, in a hall with over two hundred meters in height, a black haired youth was seated in a meditative position; the youth had a hint of excitement lingering in his eyes. His features delicate and arrogant were highly contradictory to how his actions depictured him. Across him sat an old man, wrinkles of time lithered his face, he was smiling slightly as he continued to stroke his short beard, both wore azure colored robes, with a picture of a mighty serpent slithering across its front. ¡°Senior Ming, could you tell me about the Azure Serpent again?¡± The youth said as a hint of excitement still lingered across his youthful face, his hand was rubbing together in anticipation. ¡°Inanis, again?¡± Senior Ming said as he sighted slightly, a coy smile still lingered across his face. ¡°If you don¡¯t mind Senior Ming!¡± Inanis said enthusiastically as he had problems sitting still. ¡°I don¡¯t mind, but I have told this story a couple of times before already¡± Senior Ming said as he scratched his head. ¡°But I guess youth does bring a sense of curiosity and awe in all things¡± Senior Ming said as he lingered in old memories for a split second. ¡°One quiet night, not so different from this very night, in a place not actually far from here, a female azure serpent quietly struggled at the bottom of the azure sea.¡± ¡°Her belly pushed and shoved, as one would expect when giving birth, but this particular child was having a harder time then its siblings, it struggled for days before it finally drew its first breath!¡± The old man declared as it was a matter of fact. ¡°Senior Ming, how could you possible know if the ancestor struggled during birth?¡± ¡°And how can you draw a breath under water?¡± Inanis questioned with a slight frown across his face. ¡°Stop questioning this great Elder Ming!¡± ¡°Obviously everything that comes out of my mouth is the absolute truth!¡± Senior Ming said as he had a slight chuckle after. ¡°Ah right, go on great elder Ming!¡± Inanis said enthusiastically, feinting ignorance to the arrogant yet sarcastic remarks. ¡°As you know, Azure Serpents does not have particular amazing potential regarding martial cultivation. They ingest the azure seas energy cultivating the ocean itself, but harvesting this energy is as one would imagine chaotic and tyrannical not gentle and fluid as the Ki of the stars or the heaven and earth.¡± ¡°Most Azure Serpents use up all their potential before even stepping in to the realm of a Tyrant, therefore has no hope of severing mortality and becoming eternal. This particular Serpent was not like everyone else though, as of a hundred years he had already become a tyrant. His potential was unrivaled in the entire azure seas, young beautiful serpent females would travel hundreds of miles just to be in his very presence!¡± Inanis could help but chuckle at the sudden remark. ¡°If father heard your interpretation of the great ancestor, not even I could save you Senior Ming¡± Senior Ming swallowed a mouthful of saliva at the young man¡¯s remark. ¡°I hope you won¡¯t tell on me young master¡± ¡°You¡¯re safe¡± Inanis said as he sent a small wink in the senior¡¯s direction. Rasping his mouth Senior Ming continued ¡°The azure serpent, with a combination of luck and an unparalleled talent continued to strive towards being eternal and immortal in all ages. As the years passed the serpent grew closer and closer to the threshold to immortality, through battle and tempering he strived, he was drawn to the concept of always testing himself, pushing himself further and further towards his goal. On one particular evening, in the vast Heavenly Continent he finally achieved his goal of reaching immortality; he threw away the shackles of mortality and was finally eternal.¡± ¡°But the years passed as he remained unparalleled in the realm, he grew distant and depressed as his true nature of always testing himself and progressing further could not be fulfilled. He decided it was time to finally leave, leave for the realm of the gods, for greater challenges and further testing.¡± ¡°But before leaving, he returned to his home. His home here in the azure sea, he knew that he wouldn¡¯t be able to return for a very long time, maybe even forever, so he left his descendants on this very island, he left his legacy, everything he had learnt and seen was left here for us to see and experience.¡±Ensure your favorite authors get the support they deserve. An eternal being of pure darkness and destruction descended from the skies, from the very heavens itself. It too was a lonely existent, it cultivated not by testing itself but by devouring and slaughter. Obviously as noble as the Azure Serpent was he rode into battle, determined to eliminate this imminent threat on both his descendants but also the world that nurtured him.¡± ¡°The battle lasted for seven days, and the very brim of existence tore as they were sent into space. It is said that by sacrificing his life the Azure Serpent defeated the being and ultimately saved the world!¡± Senior Ming said with a smug smile. ¡°The end.¡± Senior Ming said as he took up the cup of tea he had placed to his left and took a big gulf. ¡°That¡¯s most likely the shortest version you have told to date.¡± Inanis said as he sneered slightly. Inanis shook it of quickly as another question popped into his head. ¡°Senior Ming, the ancestor was an Azure Serpent, correct?¡± Senior Ming nodded in response as he opened his mouth ¡°Correct he was an Azure Serpent, why we appear humans is because of every beings ability to change form at will when reaching a certain level of strength.¡± ¡°As to why he chose Human, because they are the dominant race? It¡¯s hard to determine what thoughts went through his mind¡± ¡°As expect Senior anticipated my question.¡± Inanis said nodding his head. ¡°Do you think I will ever be able to sever my mortality and become eternal like the great ancestor?¡± Inanis said as he stared Senior Ming straight in the eyes. ¡°Dreams and desires are a gift yet the curse of every being, regarding whet ever you could achieve immortality only time will tell.¡± Senior Ming said as he returned the gaze with a small smile across his face. ¡°But don¡¯t be discouraged Inanis, your potential is great even by the Azure Palace¡¯s standards¡± A bright smile bloomed on the youth¡¯s face as those words left Elder Ming¡¯s mouth. A chance, a chance of immortality, that was all he needs to grow excessively excited. Inanis leaned forwards nodding enthusiastically while a smile still plastered across his face ¡°Elder Ming can¡¯t you teach some more advanced techniques, maybe one of those legendary Tyrant level profound arts¡± Elder Ming only frowned in response as he calmly shook his head ¡°A Tyrant Profound technique, when you haven¡¯t even laid your martial foundation and reached the foundation realm?¡± ¡°Don¡¯t be absurd young man; the technique would tear you asunder, leaving only a gushy pool of blood left!¡± Elder Ming said as stood up tall and clasped his hands behind his back. Inanis could only gasp in response, he had heard on multiple occasions that training techniques that were too far above your realm was impossible, but never had he imagine that it would actually have that kind of outcome. ¡°But don¡®t fret young one, many techniques have different stages meant for different realms, steadily preparing you for releasing its peak power.¡± ¡°Cultivating different energies gives different kind of powers and techniques can become as unique and rare as the stars that lithers our very sky. [Repressive ocean one profound] art is an obviously a progressive art!¡± Since childhood [Repressive Ocean One Profound] Art was what Inanis cultivated, it was a set of movements that increased affinity with the tyrannical Azure Sea, enabling a cultivator to absorb the chaotic energy of the ocean. It wasn¡¯t as gentle as the energy of heaven and earth, nor was it as mysterious as the energy of the millions of astral bodies, but it was wild and unrestrained. ¡°But the [Repressive Ocean One Profound Art] only purpose is gathering energy, how am I supposed to battle?¡± Inanis said as he fidgeted quietly with one of his fingers. ¡°You are correct, the technique is only meant to gather energy¡± ¡°But what nature your energy possesses can determine the difference between life and death. The energy gathered by the [Repressive Ocean One Profound Art] is hard to absorb and gain affinity with, but it¡¯s defiantly more violent than most energies. You could actually say it is meant for battle!¡± Elder Ming said as he narrowed his eyes while sitting down once again. ¡°As for battle techniques, what¡¯s the point of learning any when you can¡¯t materialize energy outside your body?¡± Elder Ming said as he sneered deeply, while dismissively waving his hand. The Ki gathering realm was the first realm in every cultivator¡¯s long journey towards immortality. Gathering energy could be done by a wide different kind of methods, the normal approach was gathering energy from heaven and earth, some gathered energy from mighty star constellation while others gathered energy from the oceans. Most energy gathered by these techniques would pass right through you without leaving a trace, but sometimes a small amount would make the cultivators body their home. The energy would then be used to strengthen a simple fist into something terrifying. After the The Ki Gathering Realm was the Spirit Realm, where the energy would slowly disperse across the cultivator body, seeping into her or his muscles, bones and finally internal organs, strengthening them. Foundation Realm represented that a cultivator body was finally ready to materialize energy outside their bodies; they could then turn their energy into a specific nature, at hot as a volcano or as cold as freezing cold, the possibilities regarding this subject was actually unimaginable. ¡°Foundation realm huh¡± Inanis said as his eyes lost focus. ¡°I am already in the 9th level of the Spirit Realm, a single leap and I can materialize energy!¡± Inanis said as he rubbed his hands together. A small grin placed itself on Elder Ming¡¯s old stricken face ¡°Temptation is a great motivational tool¡± He thought internally. ¡°Senior Ming, I need to go!¡± Inanis said as he stood up with a grin on his face. He turned around before getting Elder Ming¡¯s confirmation, determined to walk towards the cultivation hall his father had gifted him 13 years ago. The distances between every building on Azure Profound Island was wide to a terrifying degree, so as to decrease the distances for servants, clan members and citizens, teleportation arrays had been placed in almost every large establishment. Inanis took mere moments before the wide teleportation array came into view. The teleportation array was located in a wide hall which was littered with profound characters and lines drawn on ground, walls and roof. Inanis had once asked his father regarding the meaning of these lines and characters, the answer he received was ¡°The ancestor laid down these ancient arrays, not even Grand Elder Mulong knows every one of them!¡± This was a shocking fact, because Grand Elder Mulong was the unquestionable number one in the clan regarding Arrays, in a clan with over ten millions members. As Inanis took a step inside the hall, the halls mysterious pressure enveloped his entire body. The pressure was by no means dangerous, but still instilled a sense of grandeur and fear. The walls rugged and cracked with age, the wood that was thought eternal was beginning to crack under constant use. The hall had no widows, so the delightful light of the sun couldn¡¯t light up its sullen and damp atmosphere. Instead floating light crystals lithered the halls ¡°Sky¡± giving one the illusion of stars. ¡°Young master!¡± One of the men stationed there instantly recognized the young man¡¯s silhouette. The men behind him straightened their backs as he slowly approached. Once he was in line of sight they hurriedly bowed. ¡°Open the array; send me to One Profound Hall!¡± The young man proclaimed out loud. He appeared by all eyes cold and determined. ¡°Yes Young Master!¡± The twenty servants answered in unisons, still holding their graceful bowing position. Due to the large amount of profound energy needed to conduct a short teleportation, the array only opened on set schedule to save resources, but obviously this rule did not apply to this young man. A brief explosion of blistered the servant eyes as they opened the teleportation array, a second later the room return to its sullen atmosphere. ¡°Young Master Inanis always seems so distant.¡± A female servant remarked out loud while she leaned back against one of the walls. ¡°Well he is Grand Elder Kurain¡¯s son, it¡¯s as expected.¡± A man with clear signs of age said quietly. Every servant nodded in response. ¡°And his cultivation speed is unimaginable.¡± A stern middle aged man said he crossed his arms with a sour expression. ¡°Yufang, don¡¯t be discouraged, he has access to unlimited resources and was gifted with a pure bloodline since brith.¡± The old man proclaimed loudly as he gently patted the middle aged man named Yufang¡¯s shoulder. Chapter 2: Young Master of a great clan When Inanis opened his eyes he was met by the familiar view of the One Profound Hall. It was surprisingly much smaller than the wide hall he had met with Elder Ming. Its height fifty meter high and its width three hundred and two hundred meters respectively. The walls were littered with paintings depicturing warriors taking up a wide array of stances; everyone had one thing in common, wearing an azure robe. The floor was oceanic oak, a material sturdy and by evidence eternal. It was pristine, not a single particle of dust could be seen. At the end of the hall the largest painting in the entire hall hung, it was enormous and carried a sense overbearing might. The picture was a detailed version of their ancestor, the one and only Azure Serpent of legends. He cruised over the tyrannical Azure Sea, by all means unhindered by its mighty waves. ¡°Welcome back young master!¡± A man suddenly came into view. The man had black hair and appeared to be middle aged, no wrinkles of age lithered his pristine face, and his features seemed heroic yet cold and distant. Those not familiar with him would describe him as a statue of ice, not reflecting anything their way. He lowered his head in respect as he waited for the young master¡¯s response. ¡°Greeting Old Hai¡± ¡°The hall has been kept in pristine shape, as expected¡± Old Hai nodded in response ¡°As requested¡± ¡°Pick me up a, Oceanic Devouring Pill, will you?¡± Inanis said with grin lingering on his youthful face. Oceanic Devouring Pill was a pill concocted by gathering a large amount of ingredients that held high affinity with the Azure Sea, the result was something that could temporary increase your cultivation speed by sizeable margin. The higher affinity you had towards one specific energy the faster you would gather it, it was self-explanatory. Some pill could even store a large amount of energy inside them which could be used to directly cultivate, but those pills only worked towards the less aggressive energies. Mere seconds Old Hai returned with the azure pill in hand. His speed was so terrifying that Inanis had no way too followed him with his eyes. As Inanis took the pill out of the old servant hand ¡°Old Hai is there no short cut in gaining enlightenment on the Azure Sea concept?¡± Inanis said as he starred towards the painting depicturing their great ancestor of old. ¡°No¡± Old Hai simply said shaking his head. ¡°Some may take two years, other might take a millennium. It¡¯s all about insight and luck.¡± Inanis frowned as he heard the words coming out of the old servant mouth. A concept was an illustrious and mysterious way of cultivating; some concepts would increase your power by terrifying degrees while others would only support you mildly. Cultivators that had gained enlightenment regarding a concept was excessively rare, but was in the entire realm regarded as unquestionable geniuses. ¡°Didn¡¯t father understand the Azure Sea Concept when he was young?¡± Inanis said as he swallowed a mouthful. ¡°Yes, when he was nineteen.¡± Old Hai simply stated, not catching the meaning of the young masters remark. Inanis gritted his teeth as he popped the pill inside his mouth and swallowed. He then walked in front of the painting and took a steadfast meditational position. He stared intently on the painting for an hour long, his eyes tried its hardest not to blink during the entire duration. Still not a whiff of enlightenment came fleeting inside his mind; he tried to ponder on the oceans interaction with the great ancestor but could not find any logical explanation why the water seemed to fear his very presence. ¡°I guess it¡¯s helpless¡± Inanis said as he pouted. ¡°And Old Hai can¡¯t seem to grasp the state of my heart¡± Inanis thought internally. His servant, Old Hai had mentored his father before him several hundred years ago and was therefore naturally placed to take care of Inanis. Still he didn¡¯t spend much time here and often went to visit Senior Ming instead, the reason, he couldn¡¯t understand the underlying meaning in anything that he said. He was not unpleasant in his presence, the man didn¡¯t say much to begin with, but it was definitely not pleasant. ¡®Did father not have any self-doubt?¡¯ were thoughts that sometimes plundered his mind. This story has been unlawfully obtained without the author''s consent. Report any appearances on Amazon. ¡°Old Hai, prepare a couple of more Oceanic Devouring Pill¡¯s, I will not leave here until I have reached the foundation realm!¡± Inanis said as he closed his fist tightly. ¡°Yes¡± The Old man said disappearing in a flash. A drop of sweat fell from the black haired youth¡¯s face as he was immersed in a set of movement. The movements were fierce and direct yet unpredictable in their nature. The normal observer, which had not cultivated in their life, might describe them as beautiful and graceful, which in its essence they need to be as it was a way to cascade to the mighty ocean, hoping to gain its favor. Inanis continued for an entire day, which based on the intensity of the movement would be far beyond what any normal person could tolerate, but he was by no means normal with cultivation in the late stages of the Spirit Realm. Already a caterpillar awaiting that one moment that he could finally hatch and gain wings. The tyrannical energy of the sea turreted with every movement he made slowly seeping inside his skin, passing through the interweaving veins and finally storing itself inside his Dantian, or what Old Hai would call it, the center of his being. The terrifying and overbearing energy would slowly sooth down as it was entering his skin, its ferocity could not be completely tamed under the fierceness of his movements. [Repressive Ocean One Profound Art] contained nine completely different stances and changing between them required both needle like precision but also unwavering determination and certainty. It was not an art you could casually pick up and train in, the discipline and skill needed years of training to getting to a high level. Obviously there were many genius es in the realm that had the capability to grasp this particular set of moves and the Azure serpent¡¯s descendants had a strong bloodline connection with Azure Seas to begin with. Which meant that many disciples of the Azure Palace could quiet easily grasp these moves. As the sullen atmosphere of a dark night laid its grasp over the world, Inanis quietly sat down in a meditative position. He grasped for air as he breath was by all means exhausted, sweat poured down his face as continued to catch his breath. ¡°Old Hai¡± Inanis said as his breathing quieted down. ¡°What is 3rd cousins cultivation at?¡± He said as he stared intently towards the Azure Serpent painting. ¡°He stepped in to the foundation realm recently. He should be stabilizing his realm as we speak¡± Old Hai said as he stood straight, his exterior was distant to the extreme. He had watched the young master performing the [Repressive Ocean One Profound Art] for hours on end and had still not left his position. ¡°Tsk¡± Inanis could only pout and frown in response. His 3rd cousin was his only competition in the clans younger generation. The bloodline of the Azure Serpent had excessively hard to give birth to descendant, especially those that belong to the ¡°Main¡± bloodline. By estimation only a single child would be born from the main bloodline every one hundred years. More than ninety-nine percent of clan members living on Azure Profound Island were a result of mixed blood, some had so little of the ancestor¡¯s blood running through their veins that it was hard to tell if they even belong to the Azure Serpent Clan. Only those that belonged to the main bloodline would have the privilege of entering the main clan¡¯s sect, The Azure Palace. The resources at their disposal was like the difference between heaven and earth, compared to the other cultivation clans located on Azure Profound Island, which there were several of. On occasion some highly talented branch members would gain entrance and acceptance into the Azure Palace, but that was rare and they were already part of the ¡°older generation¡±. Inanis was fourteen and his 3rd cousin Yunre was fifteen, two people born during a single century was especially rare, which beckoned a great celebration lasting for thirty days. Both had learned of their circumstances and had instantly become competitive, which one would expect from youngsters. ¡°3rd Cousin is eleven month¡¯s older, I should therefore be considered more talented, at least in term of speed.¡± Inanis thought reassuringly. Still he couldn¡¯t help but narrow his eyes and frowning slightly. ¡°Old Hai, am I close?¡± Inanis asked darting eyes. ¡°Yes, the energy has settled. In a day or two you should be ready to spiral your energy.¡± Old Hai said as he kept his posture, expressionless. Foundation Establishment required you to spiral your energy into what was called the ¡°Ki Cyclone¡±, which would increase the speed you could circulate your energy across your veins. ¡°Which method do you recommend?¡± Even though Inanis didn¡¯t particular like this old servant, he was certain that his knowledge regarding cultivation was at the top of the entire clan. Obviously he trusted his judgment. ¡°[Abyssal Heavenly Cyclone Foundation].¡± Old Hai said keeping his posture straight. ¡°Why?¡± Inanis said as his eyes widened slightly. The Azure Palace had a number of Foundation Establishment methods, everyone with a wide array of effect on what foundation would be laid for said cultivator. It was therefore surprising to have such certainty, and this method was in his opinion not suitable. ¡°It¡¯s what your father cultivated.¡± Old Hai said simply not stating anything else. ¡°So what?¡± Inanis tilted his head and furrowed his brows, with a questioning look on his face. ¡°The way you cultivate is compatible¡± ¡°Sight¡± Inanis couldn¡¯t help but sight out loud; getting a satisfying answer out of this old nut was under certain circumstances hard. Inanis sometimes questioned if this Old Hai was the ideal character to teach, I mean he had difficulties explaining his though process into simple and direct terms. But every times those thoughts came bubbling up in his mind he would shut them down. He clearly remembered his father¡¯s remarks regarding this man ¡°trust in Old Hai, he will not lead you astray¡± This old man had received such high words from his father. A figure with even higher status then the current patriarch of the Azure Serpent Clan, a figure that hardly gave a single being a word of praise, to not speak of trusting someone. ¡°I¡¯ll trust in Old Hai¡¯s judgment!¡± He said as he met Old Hai¡¯s eyes. The man only nodded slightly in response as he continued to stand still in the same position. ¡°Old Hai, prepare the [Abyssal Heavenly Cyclone Foundation]¡± ¡°Yes, young master!¡± Old Hai said as he suddenly disappeared out of sight. Inanis slightly rubbed his eyes as he stared into space. As his eyes wandered across the mighty depicture of his grand ancestor, his heart couldn¡¯t help pounding slightly faster. ¡°Obsessed with testing himself, while always progressing¡± He couldn¡¯t help but feel a hint of envy creeping up, something he who had everything laid before him since birth, envied. ¡°The constant silence, the lack of adversaries, the lack of excitement, indeed takes a small toll on the heart.¡± Inanis said tugging his ears as he laid flat on his back. The celling was littered with black dragons slithering across a black sky. ¡°They must also be lonely in that black empty sky¡± He said quietly as he closed his eyes immersed in dreams of adventure and excitement. Chapter 3: Icebound Fate A turbulent clump of energy, of Ki, span at increasingly higher degrees. It twisted and bent in a seemingly completely random direction, this region could only be described as a cluster of complete chaos. Still determination glowed in Inanis eyes as he continued to trust energy in a specific pattern, most of the time the energy would simply not bow down before his commands, and instead trust itself in directions were it carried momentum. [Abyssal Heavenly Cyclone Foundation], was what was classified as a chaotic method, instead of setting up arrays in the cultivators Dantian in calm and collected manner eventually triggering a chain reaction of energy completing their cyclone, one had to spin the energy in certain patterns. The arrays set up by so called controlled methods, were setup by setting up ancient arrays, triggering the energy to react in certain ways, not very different from how the ancient ancestor set up the teleportation ¡°portals¡±. Still there were an abundant of chaotic methods, these methods required above average control of you energy and was considered to be the hard choice when laying your foundation. The effect of every method was in essence different, chaotic methods were generally assumed to cultivate a more wild and uncontrollable Ki. Therefore after a cultivator laid their foundation, their Ki could be gentle, mysterious, cold, hot or overbearing. Obviously if one cultivated a Fire method it would not be ideal to build a foundation based on cooler Ki, the same could be said in reverse. The praxis in the cultivation world was therefore to not limit your Ki to an attribute but instead building it in a special nature, regularly which related to your personality. [Abyssal Heavenly Cyclone Foundation] was a superb method of cultivating suppressive Ki, in Azure Palace it was considered top five of all methods they currently had, which was almost a hundred by this point, a collective of almost a hundred thousand years. A drop of sweat slowly slid down Inanis face as he gritted his teeth tightly. The minutes passed before he finally collapsed on the floor, a small pool sweat had accumulated on the hard wooden floor in response to his constant attempts. ¡°Old Hai, [Abyssal Heavenly Cyclone Foundation] is so taxing.¡± Inanis said as he sighted exasperated. ¡°The energy moves by a complex set of patterns at a high speed, it¡¯s as expected.¡± Old Hai said without a hint of an expression. ¡°Let¡¯s continue then!¡± Inanis gritted his teeth tightly as sweat continued to run down his delicate face. He couldn¡¯t help but furrow his brow as he felt his bodies¡¯ heaviness looming of his every action. He felt the energy moving as fast as before and even more precise but couldn¡¯t help but grimace in pain every time the energy rebounded across his body. These last two days had not been without improvement, but the mental difficulty of not reaching his goal sooner was exhausting his concentration slightly. The hours passed as Inanis felt his body externally shake in a wave of exhaustion, still his determination regarding finally learning battle techniques kept reverberating across his mind. As the hours had passed the energy rebound had also decreased drastically, the energy was by no means moving in a completely organized manner but it visible in reach by this point. As the minutes passed he couldn¡¯t hold on any longer, as he hastily passed out on the floor. His heavy breath was loud to the extent of almost echoing across the vast hall. ¡°I need to sleep¡± Inanis said in a quiet voice as he simply decided to sleep, right where he lay. Old Hai, stood quietly and watched as his young master was slowly descending into sleep. A rare and barely noticeable smile was plastered across his otherwise cold and empty face. ¡°How is he?¡± a cold voice suddenly resounded quietly beside the old servant right ear. The sound was so mulled and quiets it actually only managed to reach his ear, not leaving a sound in the vast hall. ¡°Even more talented than you, at that age.¡± Old Hai simply responded. ¡°I¡¯m happy¡± the voice that responded this time was instead looming with happiness, not a hint of cold remained. Old Hai nodded as he continued to stare at Inanis exhausted body. The next morning Inanis once again continued his exhausting endeavor and he felt that he kept getting closer and closer. The energy rebound was getting so miniscule that he barely noticed anything and the toll on his body had decreased by a noticeable amount. Suddenly something finally clicked, the energy was not rebounding, and the path was it travelled was correct and precise. Inanis currently having his conciseness inside his mind could feel the miniscule improvements constantly, as the image of a cyclone was slowly coming to fruit his energy was breaming in happiness. As a certain amount of energy finally passed through a complete cycle, the white powder of Ki instead diluted and transformed. Gone were the gentle and kind energy if old, instead he was greeted by a murky blue Ki, almost black, it carried with it a terrifying pressure. It felt like a pressure one only felt only tens of thousands of meter down the oceanic abyss, it was suffocating and heavy. Amazingly enough Inanis felt it pleasant instead of what it appeared to be, it was completely in his control. As the minutes passed Inanis continued to observe as his Ki was quickly transforming, his meditating position was steady and a bright grin was looming on his face. As he opened his eyes, his was met by the familiar cold face of Old Hai ¡°Congratulation young master¡± Old Hai said quietly. ¡°I feel light and powerful¡± Inanis said with a bright smile. He kept touching all over his body, trying to get a firmer grasp on his current condition. Old Hai only nodded in response. ¡°Was I faster than father?¡± Inanis said with a proud grin hanging across his face. ¡°About the same¡± Old Hai said quietly. ¡°I am ready to learn a battle technique!¡± Inanis said as he jumped to his feet. The huge grin from before was still clearly present on his face. His eyes almost glittering as he stared intensely in the old servant¡¯s direction. ¡°What type of technique would you like me to pass on?¡± Old Hai said as met the young master¡¯s eyes straight on. Inanis rubbed his head slightly. He had sought after the foundation realm for better part of his life, battle techniques was one part of it. People had kept telling him; get to the foundation realm before learning them and now he was finally there. He had read up on battle techniques in anticipation for this moment, the clan did restrict him from reading about the more dangerous once though, at least until he met the correct realm. This narrative has been unlawfully taken from Royal Road. If you see it on Amazon, please report it. ¡°In your opinion what techniques is most suitable for me to learn?¡± Inanis asked with a grin still looming across his face. ¡°Young master, do you prefer any weapon?¡± Weapons were a great funnel for executing techniques; if the grade of your weapon was also high it could be a lethal combination. Still not everyone preferred to use weapons; some relied only on external Ki to strike with elemental attacks, such as ice or fire, while other dealt in bizarre techniques such a mind techniques. Inanis had during his childhood been briefly introduced to different kind of weapons but had not developed any particular preference. ¡°Not really¡± Inanis said honestly. ¡°Then [Ode of the Icebound God], it goes good with your [Repressive Ocean One Profound] which is water in nature¡± He said as a hint of glitter sparkled in the old servants other almost dead eyes. ¡°[Ode of the Icebound God] huh..¡± Inanis said as he rubbed his shin. This was a technique he was completely unfamiliar with, but he could gather from the name that it quiet the technique. Inanis had never heard of a master that had the courage to actually put the word God in their training methods. ¡°It¡¯s sounds powerful..¡± Inanis said as a grin rested on his delicate face. ¡°Old Hai, why have I never heard of such a technique?¡± Having such a name and not being famous across the clan was odd, even if it wasn¡¯t consider a peerless technique, it would still had caught lots of attention and it couldn¡¯t be one of those techniques trained at tyrant level, why otherwise would Old Hai even mention it? ¡°It¡¯s rather dangerous and unconventional¡± Old Hai said as he showed a glare of awe in his eyes. ¡°But I believe now is the time for it to pass on its inheritance¡± A small grin loomed on Old Hai¡¯s face. Inanis couldn¡¯t help but frown as he saw the old servant have a grin across his face, this was actually the third time in his entire life he had seen the old servant showing any kind of emotion on his otherwise completely cold face. What is going through this old servants mind.. ¡°Then I won¡¯t train in it!¡± Inanis said as he stood tall. He couldn¡¯t help but feel suspicious towards the old servant sudden change in demeanor. ¡°It¡¯s your choice young master.¡± Old Hai said as his cold demeanor returned. ¡°But in terms of potential, this technique should be the clan¡¯s undisputed number one, even superior to art your ancestor the Azure Serpent left behind.¡± Old Hai said as he slowly put his hand behind his back. Inanis couldn¡¯t help but gasp in response as he froze and stared with wide eyes towards Old Hai¡¯s sudden remark. A seed of intrigue suddenly bloomed and expanded inside Inanis mind, a technique which was superior to the ancestor¡¯s art? Wouldn¡¯t this make him superior to even his father in the future? ¡°If you cultivate this, even your father will be a match once you reach a certain stage!¡± Old Hai reclaimed loudly. A small laugh left Inanis mouth as he continued to think about the possibilities. ¡°Old Hai, what are the consequences? What are the dangers?¡± Inanis said staring intensely in the old servants eyes. ¡°You need to understand a concept of frost, any concept would do..¡± Old Hai said as he took a breath highlighting the seriousness of his next sentence ¡°Otherwise you will simply freeze¡± Inanis frowned. ¡°What do you mean freeze?¡± ¡°Freeze to death, Icebound forever¡± Inanis took a step back as the words left the old servants mouth, he couldn¡¯t help but freeze in surprise. ¡°Dea..th¡± he managed to stammer out. ¡°But if you cultivate this art I will assure your safety, I promise!¡± Old Hai said with a stern face. ¡°I need to see my father¡± Inanis said as cold sweat was beginning to take form. ¡°Do you not trust in me?¡± Old Hai said as he frowned deeply. ¡°It¡¯s not that..¡± Inanis said rather embarrassed. ¡°A concept, I have studied the painting of the ancestor for several years, still I am not even close to understanding it.¡± Inanis said as he frowned and looked towards that majestic painting. ¡°That concept is not easy to grasp, even your father took several years.¡± ¡°When you study a frost concept obviously you do not need to choose such a hard one.¡± Old Hai said with a reassuring smile. ¡°Still..¡± ¡°Death¡± Inanis said with wide eyes. ¡°Didn¡¯t your father tell you to trust me?¡± Inanis could only nod in response, confirming the assumption. ¡°Then you have nothing to worry about¡± Old Hai said as a matter of fact. Inanis couldn¡¯t help but nod. ¡°Then..¡± Old Hai said as he instantly appeared before Inanis. As his finger touched lightly on Inanis forehead a stream of information kept pouring into his mind. Inanis couldn¡¯t help but closing his eyes in response, this was a soul transfer and a large one, something that needed complete concentration to receive. As he finished Old Hai spoke up again ¡°Condense the Heart of Ice!¡± ¡°Yes!¡± Inanis said as his doubt had been pushed far back in his head. The information kept pouring inside his head, the Heart of Ice was a large clump of Ki condensed into a specific array. This clump would then slowly begin to transform, transform into something of extreme cold, the Heart of Ice. As Old Hai saw that Inanis was currently in deep meditation a big grin loomed on his face. ¡°Haha¡± he couldn¡¯t help but laugh, but mere moments later he suddenly disappeared, out of sight. In another large hall, lithered with statues of giant serpent slithering across the walls and ceiling, with blue flames lighting its dark interior, stood a man that looked a lot like Inanis. He had black hair dark blue eyes and delicate facial features, there was a big different though, his exterior was completely cold, not much from Old Hai. The vast hall seemed brooding and dark, its air was suffocating and overbearing, there was therefore not a single servant in sight. Suddenly a black shadow entered through the halls giant iron gates; he pushed open those massive gates weighing as much as smaller mountains as easy as moving a pebble. ¡°Senior Hai, why have you come?¡± The middle aged man said facing towards this ancient elder. A rare smile crept up the old Servant face as he laughed slightly ¡°I taught your son [Ode of the Icebound God]!¡± He said while clasping his hands behind his back. ¡°WHAT!!¡± The middle aged man that appeared by most eyes mortal suddenly exploded as he clenched his hand terrifyingly hard. The hall filled with an unprecedented aura of suffocation, Inanis standing there would simply have exploded in blood and gore from its very presence. It didn¡¯t seem to slow down either, the aura was claiming higher and higher getting fiercer and fiercer. The walls made by almost unbreakable material were beginning to give in by its pressure. The old servant who seemed by all means unaffected frowned slightly as he dismissively waved his hand in the air. The terrifying pressure slowly grew weaker as the hand once again fell to his side. ¡°Before you try to attack me, you should know that he has already begun condensing the Heart of Ice¡± That did not comfort any of the middle aged man¡¯s anger. A dragon head, as large as this entire hall suddenly materialized in front of him. Its blue scale¡¯s and red eyes brought a sense death and suffering. The dragon was entirely made up of water but for some reason it appeared almost real. ¡°To think that you cared for him to this extent¡± Old Hai frowned as he once again waved his hand in dismissal. The might water dragon suddenly disappeared out of thin air. The energy and sense of death crumbled easily before the middle aged man¡¯s eyes. ¡°Two hundred years..¡± ¡°That¡¯s when you will surpass me..¡± ¡°Until then listen¡± Old Hai said as he had a frown on his face. The middle aged man was just about to open his mouth before Old Hai once again spoke ¡°You should know more than anyone what the future holds!¡± The middle aged angry face turned darker and darker by Old Hai¡¯s sudden remark. He gritted his teeth and anger before opening his mouth ¡°What does that have to do with my son?¡± He almost screamed those words in the old Servants face. ¡°He was born with the Tyrannical Divine Veins.. ¡° Old Hai said slowly as he meant the words to slowly sink in. ¡°What?¡± The middle aged man said his mouth suddenly opened, staring with wide eyes towards the old servant. ¡°Yes. He is the ultimate vessel.¡± Old Hai said quietly. The middle aged man anger disappeared slightly as he slowly sat down on the floor. Clearly this news had taken a rather big toll on him. Signs of shock will still visible on his delicate face. ¡°My son is too careful to throw his life away so easily. Did you trick him?¡± Anger was still very much present on his now rather pale face. ¡°Too a degree, yes.¡± ¡°Did you know he has deep seated desire to surpass you?¡± Old Hai said as he laughed lightly. ¡°Maybe I have been too cold towards him¡± The middle aged man said as he scratched his head and lowered his head. ¡°I only told him regarding the condition for the first level, if I told him the whole truth there is no way he would have listened.¡± ¡°Also he has a deep trust in me. A seed planted since childhood¡± Old Hai said as he stroked his chin. ¡°And a gentle mind technique certainly helped¡± Old Hai said as he laughed slightly ¡°Even if he has the Tyrannical Divine Veins, you must take good care of him!¡± The middle aged man said with clear concern across his face. His anger had quietly calmed down, he knew that he could do nothing to this Old Servant and even if he called up one of his senior elders it would be unlikely they would act on his regard. Since the Ice of Heart was already initiated there was no turning back and honestly there was none better than this old servant to take of him. ¡°Of course! This concerns the future of the clan, I wouldn¡¯t dare slack off.¡± Old Hai said with certainty in his voice. ¡°Frost concept is the first step if I am not mistaken¡¡± The middle aged man said lost in thought as he stared towards old servant intensely. ¡°Yes. But before that he needs experience. He does not understand the world.¡± Old Hai said as he scratched his head. ¡°The Tyrannical Divine Veins should keep the curse in check for a while...¡± ¡°I¡¯ll take him to the main land.¡± Old Hai said as clasped his hand together before once again disappearing in a flash. The middle aged man only stared into empty space as a sense of helplessness overcame him. ¡°Inanis¡¡± he said softly Chapter 4: The beginning of a journey Inanis could feel a sudden cold slowly but surely accumulating inside him. The ¡°Heart of Ice¡± which it was called was slowly but steadily taking form inside his Dantian. It was white and condense as an egg, but it sparkled with a light and lively feeling, the cold was terrifying but he did not feel himself in any kind of danger. His murky blue almost black Ki was slowly turning brighter and brighter as a small line of pure white was slithering in the middle of it, like a cluster of stars in complete darkness. The stars were not hot as those in the night sky, but instead colder than the coldest of winters. As the transformation had finally completed a delightful smile plastered across Inanis face as he opened his eyes, what met his view was the stone cold face of the one and only Old Hai. ¡°I went from the first level of the foundation realm, straight up to the third!¡± Inanis said with a beaming smile lingering on his face. This was not what he expect, a delightful surprise to say the least. ¡°How do you feel?¡± Old Hai said. ¡°I feel cold, yet no cold. It¡¯s hard to explain¡± Inanis said truthfully as he was pondering regarding his current condition. He definitely felt cold, but for some reason it didn¡¯t appear unpleasant or displeasing in any of the usual ways one might expect. Inanis took a quick look towards his hand, as expect he didn¡¯t shiver one bit, a humans normal response to such low degree¡¯s would definitely make one shiver., but he did shiver one bit, he felt as comfortable as he usually was. ¡°My hands are so pale!¡± Inanis almost shouted out has caught a glance of his skin tone. A deep frown plastered itself on his delicate face. ¡°You should consider yourself lucky¡± Old Hai thought internally before he decided to open his mouth. ¡°Your body cannot completely handle the cold¡± ¡°Is this normal?!¡± Inanis said as he quickly lifted his and met Old Hai¡¯s eyes, his eyes wide and shaken. ¡°Yes. No need for concern.¡± ¡°How long do I have?¡± Inanis kept Old Hai¡¯s gaze as he spoke seriously. ¡°Two years at least!¡± Old Hai declared with confidence as he put both his hands behind his back. ¡°That¡¯s good.¡± Inanis said as his smile crept back on his face. He couldn¡¯t help but laugh happily, as he thought about his miserable third cousin who he now had surpassed by quite a bit. The mere thought of informing him of his sudden rise to prominence was enough to calm his nervousness. ¡°Did you speak with father?¡± Inanis said as he thought back towards his conversation with Old Hai before. He had taken a decision quite rashly something he had not done in a very long time. ¡°Yes, he is fine with it!¡± Old Hai said as nodded with reassurance. ¡°But the condition is that we will leave towards the main land.¡± ¡°What? Why? The resources here should be better, I mean this is our clan¡± Inanis said with a frown on his face. ¡°What you need now is not resources for cultivation, but experience.¡± ¡°Otherwise how are you to understand a frost concept?¡± ¡°Experience huh..¡± Inanis said as pondered quietly. He couldn¡¯t help but tilt his head towards those dragons swimming across a vast black sky. ¡°Old Hai, what is the main land like?¡± Inanis knew only what he had read. The books told of a vast continent filled with hundred thousands of sects and clans, massive empires and eternal struggles for supremacy. Only entities such as the Azure Serpent clan were left untouched by constant struggles of mortality, the constant struggle for power. ¡°The heavenly continent, it¡¯s vast, spawning five hundred ¡°domains¡±.¡± ¡°It¡¯s lithered with war and struggles, but there is also much to be seen, much to be experienced.¡± ¡°When I was just a youngster I wandered there for a hundred years fighting and improving, it wasn¡¯t until I met a certain person in your clan that I finally settled down on this tiny island.¡± Old Hai said as his eyes were a bit unfocused. A couple of seconds passed before Old Hai once again turned back towards the present. ¡°I have packed you things, we are leaving today. Follow me¡± Said with a stern voice as he turned around walking towards the exit. ¡°What? Right now?¡± ¡°Shouldn¡¯t I talk to father first?¡± Inanis said as he rose to his feet hurriedly catching up to Old Hai. ¡°I told your father I would take you first thing!¡± Old Hai said as he turned around and stared into the young master¡¯s eyes. Inanis couldn¡¯t help but frown in response. ¡°Aren¡¯t you my servant? Why are you suddenly ordering me around?¡± ¡°I was ordered to keep an eye on you, now I have been tasked with taking care of you. There is big difference.¡± Old Hai simply said as he turned a corner and walked into the room hosting the strange teleportation array. ¡°hmph¡± Inanis frowned slightly. Old Hai had suddenly begun acting extensively more active, he had usually only spoken when spoken too and always in a respectable manner. Now he suddenly commanded him and ordered him around, obviously it was slightly uncomfortable. But Old Hai¡¯s cultivation was unfathomable and even his father valued this figure highly so he couldn¡¯t gain the courage to object further. ¡°Young master!¡± The servant in the room shouted in unison, before bowing deeply in respect. Old Hai turned and faced Inanis ¡°Before heading over to the main continent we have to do a quick stop.¡± Old Hai said ¡°Where?¡± Inanis asked. ¡°There is a young genius rarely seen in a thousand years at Azure Sanctuary¡± Inanis frowned. Azure Sanctuary was one of the azure Clans many branch sects, Azure Sanctuary was the most well-known. They had created multiple talented members that had gained access to the main sects resources, some of them had even gained proper acceptance into the Azure Palace, which was exceptionally rare. ¡°Why do we need to visit this genius?¡± Inanis said as he continued to have a slight frown plastered across his face. ¡°Azure Sanctuary pleads absolute fealty to our Azure Palace, the purpose is pick up a follower.¡± Old Hai said.If you spot this story on Amazon, know that it has been stolen. Report the violation. ¡°And the Azure Sanctuary usually send their youngster to train in the continent¡± ¡°Why would I need a follower when I have Old Hai by my side?¡± Inanis said as he tilted his head in confusion. ¡°You won¡¯t gain any real experience by holding your hand the whole time, experience can only be gained by tempering yourself.¡± ¡°If I am there, it would be much different from taking a walk in the gardens near your One Profound Hall¡± Old Hai said sneering. Inanis sighted out loud as he shacked his head. ¡°As you wish old servant.¡± Old Hai not catching or ignoring the sarcastic remarks spitted his way turned towards the bowing servant and speaking loudly ¡°Azure Sanctuary!¡± In palace not much different from the one Inanis and Old Hai had previously wandered in a young man currently sprinted in direction towards one of larger halls this establishment had. On his way he met with different people of all ages starring at him in confusion, still no guard which was lithered everywhere stopped him or even called out to him. The reason was that he was waving a small letter and shouting ¡°Patriarch!¡± ¡°Patriarch!¡± ¡°Patriarch!¡± When he finally arrived before the biggest hall in the entire hall he was met by a vast sea of people, some wore the iconic guard outfit, a heavy mail chest, and purple in color with a slithering serpent on its chest. Others wore simple robes, the ages were varied from young to old, in middle of this gathering an old man wrinkled with signs of time and scars of old, and he appeared refined and calm. The entire gathering was keeping a close eye on this figure; a hint of awe was caught in their lingering gazes. As words Patriarch was heard across a far distant the old man had already readied himself to receive this young man. ¡°Word from the main branch I assume?¡± The Patriarch of Azure Sanctuary said lightly. ¡°Yes!¡± The young man said. ¡°And something as old fashion as a letter. It must be from that old monster Hai!¡± The Patriarch declared in a loud voice. ¡°Everyone get in position!¡± The old Patriarch spoke out loud. A sense of unurgency and reluctance reigned supreme across many of the people in this hall. Whispers of different kind lithered the room ¡°We the mighty Azure Sanctuary have to bow our head; it¡¯s simply outrageous even if it is the main clan¡± ¡°I can¡¯t help but agree¡± Another youth said. Their robe depictured a meditating student cascading before the mighty ancestor. Obviously these youngsters belonged to the younger generation of the Azure Sanctuary. The room lithered with them, there was at least two hundred youngsters present and most of them belonged to the sect, these usually arrogant and contempt disciples couldn¡¯t help but voice out their dissatisfaction. ¡°I heard the main clan is bringing a young master!¡± A small girl with freckles lithering her face said with a coy smile on her face. ¡°Why bring a member from the younger generation?¡± Another disciple said quietly. ¡°With elder brother Yang here they wouldn¡¯t dare to act arrogant!¡± A disciple said with a cold smile. ¡°Any disciple present here aren¡¯t to be trifled with¡± The same discipline said. As the whispers continued to flood through the giant hall the Patriarch frowned as he suddenly spoked up loudly ¡°Quiet they are here!¡± The Patriarch had heard the teleportation array activating from the other side of the mansion, and spoken out quiet the crowd. By his side stood the clans seventeen elders, and the room was filled with the sect¡¯s most promising disciples and senior cultivators. This was the least of preparation he could tolerate when welcome something as prestige full as Senior Hai, he who had reputation and strength no less than many of main branch¡¯s Grand Elders. Welcoming him was the same as welcoming the main branch¡¯s patriarch; therefore he wouldn¡¯t dare making fewer preparations. He couldn¡¯t help but quietly ponder the purpose of Senior Hai¡¯s visit; all he had heard was that he had an interest in their most talented disciple, Yang. Would he gain acceptance into main branch? That was the question that kept haunting his mind. The azure palace had never accepted any junior disciple into their ranks, it was there for unlikely, but a strand of hope still lingered in the back of his mind. As the crowd caught sight of the two people slowly strolling into the hall, nobody said a word as they were slowly observing them. One of them was Old Hai, middle aged, and cold distant and by all appearances completely mortal, not a hint of any aura or Ki was leaking from his body. This either meant he had superb control of his Ki or that he was truly and by all means mortal. But the crowd new better, this remark couldn¡¯t help but terrifying them slightly. The other one was Inanis, he appeared calm, comfortable and carefree like he was taking a stroll in his own garden. Yet when everyone laid their eyes of him a certain amount of weight laid itself on everyone that did not have sufficient cultivation. Like they had suddenly been submerged in deep water, even worse was the piercing cold his body radiated, the temperature in the room had visibly sunken. It wasn¡¯t powerful enough to have any real effect on their bodies; the terrifying part was that this was aura he radiated without actually circulating his Ki! ¡°So this is the main branch¡± A disciple quietly whispered as he had a serious expression on his face. Almost every disciple subconsciously turned their heads towards the three disciples closest to the patriarch. One had a slight smile on his face as his red hair hung chaotically in every direction; he was small height, still his face showed sign of maturity. The second person had deep frown on her face as her almost golden hair hung neatly parted in a side cut; her face was angelic and mesmerizing , her body delicate and enticing. A hint of hatred and shock still lingered on her face as she stared intensely towards Inanis. The third and last person was a blank state, as cold and distant as Old Hai, his face would be considered handsome but combined with such a cold and distant expression he would appear unreachable. His eyes were arrogant, and conceited, like an emperor overlooking all being from a higher plane. These three were the Azure Sanctuaries absolute peak disciples. The last person mention was Yang, a person far above the other two, a genius not seen in a thousand years. Inanis didn¡¯t care about the intense stares he got glued on his body, since he was born the son of a grand elder such occurrences were rather commonplace. The main branch had over fifty thousand servants; many of them would stare at him with these kinds of gazes. A kind smile lingered on the Patriarch face as came face to face with Old Hai ¡°Patriarch Sun greets Senior Hai!¡± The Patriarch said while bowing slightly. Those of the crowd that didn¡¯t know why they had gathered such a large crowd suddenly understood, as a hint of awe spread across the crowd. Monster Hai was a terrifying existence that had been on good terms with their first generation patriarch. What did this mean? He had prolonged his life for over twenty thousand years¡ That said enough about this man¡¯s cultivation realm. Old Hai made a slight bow in return, a sign of respect for their first patriarch and the clan he had fostered. ¡°Who is this young master?¡± The patriarch said with respect as he gazed towards the young man standing beside Old Hai. He knew instantly that a person that walked casually around with Old Hai would be someone and high statues, that coupled with his impressive cultivation was all he needed to get conformation. ¡°This is the young master, I have in my care¡± Old Hai stated as he nodded in approval. ¡°That explains why this young man such an outstanding cultivation.¡± The Patriarch nodded in approval. ¡°Bring out your disciple, Yang Su!¡± Old Hai said loudly not waiting a second to get to the heart of the matter. Many in the crowd had slight frowns on their face when they heard this remark. Still this was Senior Hai a monster that had lived for over twenty thousand years; they could on gulp down their complaints and keep quiet. ¡°Disciple Yang Su, come forth!¡± The Patriarch said as he turned and faced the cold and arrogant black haired young man standing not far from him. Yang Su, dusted off his robe slightly before appearing beside the patriarch directly facing Inanis and Old Hai. His eyes still carried the same arrogance as before as he stood and stared towards Inanis slightly intrigued. This was a disciple of the main branch, obviously he was slightly interested, he often taught that if he had been born in the main branch his future would be immeasurable; therefore he couldn¡¯t help but hold Inanis in conceit. ¡°Disciple greets Senior Hai¡± Yang Su said as he bowed respectfully towards him. ¡°Yang Su, I need to you to follow this young man when he is wandering continent¡± Old Hai said cutting straight to the point. A deep frown of disapproval plastered across Yang Su¡¯s face as he starred towards this so called young master. He then turned his head towards his patriarch; he stared back and only nodded in response to his questioning gaze. ¡°Can disciple disagree?¡± Yang Su said as he stared respectfully towards Old Hai. A grimace of anger flared up on the old patriarch aged face as he was about to refute his disciple But before he could speak up Old Hai spoke up ¡°Why?¡± He simply said as he stared towards the young man. ¡°Are concern about serving someone weaker.¡± ¡°The younger generations are always arrogant; it¡¯s part of being a youth.¡± Old Hai nodded in understanding. Inanis could instantly see through this Yang Su¡¯s cultivation and what he saw pitiful in comparison to his own, so he did not actually take anything said to heart. ¡°Inanis circulate your Ki through the Heart of Ice.¡± Old Hai said he faced towards Inanis. ¡°Are you sure?¡± Inanis said with uncertainty. This was something he had never tried before, he could only speculate about the effects. The Heart of Ice was like a catalyst if Ki was channeled through it, it would gain a terrifying degree of cold. ¡°Yes!¡± Old Hai said as clasped his hands behind his back. Inanis only nodded in response. As soon as the nod was completed a visible sign frost and ice crept itself up on the floor, the center was where Inanis was standing. In mere thirty meter all around Inanis a layer of thick frost had laid itself, and the temperature kept dropping and dropping. A second later it was at least as cold as standing alone in heavy blizzard, visible lines of ice was materializing on every person clothing that was standing inside his radius. Worst off were those that stood directly next to Inanis himself and among them was the previous arrogant Yang Su who was visibly shaking from the cold. Hastily circulating his Ki he wasn¡¯t actually harmed, but clear signs of shock were present on his face. His eyes were wide and his mouth slightly a gape, as he gained his posture he hastily left the radius by jumping backwards. Everyone that was not of the senior generation did exactly the same. The beautiful girl disciple consider to the entire sect a peerless genius, only overshadowed by the terrifying Yang Su couldn¡¯t help but exclaim out loud while she was outside Inanis ¡°area¡± ¡°Monster!¡± She said as she frowned. She couldn¡¯t help but a have sour expression on her face as she crossed her arms. This person was the same age as her, yet he was so terrifying. A disciple situated in the middle of the area suddenly spoke out in terror ¡°Not only is it tyrannically cold to the extent of slowing down the circulation of Ki, but the pressure is so heavy.¡± He said has kept rubbing his hands to warm them up. ¡°Enough¡± Old Hai simply said as stood in coldest of zones, not affected at all. The frost slowly melted as the cold atmosphere quietly grew calm. ¡°Haha¡± The old patriarch couldn¡¯t help but laugh. He was by no means affected by the sudden drop temperature. ¡°Foundation Realm and can have already completely grasped a concept!¡± As those words echoed across the hall, some had a sour expression, had wide eyes staring into space while others laughed awkwardly. ¡°Foundation Realm I expected but understanding a concept as such a young age, is simply unconceivable.¡± The old Patriarch laughed again. A quiet whisper suddenly entered Inanis ear ¡°Don¡¯t correct them¡± It was old Hai¡¯s voice. ¡°Now would you become a follower? You¡¯re seventh level of spirit realm is indeed impressive though¡± Old Hai said laughing while turning to the shock stricken Yang Su. ¡°Obviously, the main branch wont treat it¡¯s followers unkindly¡± Yang Su frowned in response before getting his bearing back and responding in a respectful manner. ¡°I wouldn¡¯t dare refute Senior again.¡± He said bowing.
