《The Hunter and his Companion》
Prologue
Thou shalt open thy eyes, for thy eyes are key
Thou shalt bind thy eyes, for thy brother is the way
~ Inscription on the Sabuth Ruins
There is a lovely little church that sits upon the hills of Ipo. The church was built by the hands of a minister whose religion has long since been lost long ago. Many weddings and many funerals took place inside the small wooden walls. Legend has it that after he built the church, the minister fell in love with a young girl named Ipa, but she had a fiance. The minister dueled her fiance for her hand and although defeated, Ipa went with him anyway. This angered the fiance as he was a grand general and was a man of honor.
The minister seeked refuge from the man¡¯s wrath and he went to Sabuth. The fiance¡¯s army chased after the minister and laid siege to Sabuth. The fiance captured Sabuth, but the minister was nowhere to be found. Angered, he ordered the destruction of the looted city. After he was done, the minister taunted him.
The minister sent a letter by bird to the fiance and told him that god will destroy the fiance. The minister then told him to meet him on a little church he built. It turns out that the minister was hiding there the whole time with Ipa and was loved by the villagers, as he did all the services the villagers needed.. Sadden that his honor was sullied, the fiance committed suicide out of shame.
When Ipa heard of this, she immediately ran from the minister¡¯s arms to the ruins of Sabuth, where she was first born. She didn¡¯t believe it when the fiance would destroy her homeland and she hated both men when they treated her as a prize. Sadden and Enraged, she transformed herself into a being of unimaginable power using Sabuthian arts long forgotten. Unauthorized duplication: this narrative has been taken without consent. Report sightings.
She impregnated herself and gave birth to the first beings we call monsters. Using her monster army, she went and murdered the minister and the villagers. The minister appealed to her, he wanted things to go back to the way it was, but was killed before he could utter his final words. Her hatred of humanity grew even more because the minister did not suffer enough. Using her army, she led the world into a new dark age where humans were on the verge of destruction. The final city in her path, Ikamaru, was the last bastion of humankind.
Desperate, the human king of Ikamaru told his mages to summon a hero using dark arts. After spending countless lives, the hero was summoned and he drove back the monsters and saved humanity. Ipa, now the mother of all monsters, was driven off into the unknown. What became of Ikamaru, the king, or the hero became a mystery that all scholars debate on what happened. Where did they go? What became of the city? No one really knows. The fiance, the king of Ikamaru, the hero, and the minister''s name has long since been lost to time but many claim to be their descendants.
The lovely little church still sits upon the hills of Ipo. On the church¡¯s walls, carvings of prayers and pictures of unknown or unnamed gods. No one knows why or how it still stands today, but it has been deemed by the Andtruvy Theocracy a holy site just a few moons ago. It is heavily guarded and only the pope is allowed to go in. Not even the guards can stand near the little wooden church.
Across the continent, a babe is born on the night of the full moon. Unnamed, the babe is abandoned.

Chapter 1
¡°Honestly, this babe needs to be sent away. We have no need of it. I mean look at it! Her eyes¡. are the marks of Ida¡± ~ Unknown because the name is gone from history. Scholars and historians say who ever that said this was said by a drunk.
The predator silently stalks its prey. After hearing a human sighting him and calling him a ¡°Blade Panther¡± the predator chuckled as the human becomes his next meal. He pounces. He kills.
After picking off the flesh of the human and tearing off his layer of removable fur, he goes and collects it. It has always wondered why humans had some kind of removable fur and why some of them even have a shell. Oh well, the harder kill, is the more glorious to kill in his books.
But this wasn¡¯t an honorable kill, this was too easy of a kill. He wanted a more glorious battle where he and his prey would go toe to toe where he would eventually consume his prey. Oh well, that¡¯s for another day. He walked back to his cozy cave. Nothing lived in it except him. He ate all of it, including the former blade panther that lived here. He cleaned his resting place by wiping all the dust and fell asleep. This novel is published on a different platform. Support the original author by finding the official source.
He dreamed of fear, he dreamed that he was at the top, and he was afraid. He wanted to fight gloriously. He wanted honor. He wanted to live with in the jaws of death. He awoke suddenly, the predator heard something enter his cave. Sharpening his claws in his excitement, he lept out of his bedding and into the cool opening of the cave. He missed and crashed upon the ground. Annoyed, he turned around to look for the challenger.
He kept on looking up, but the next set of cries came from the ground. His eyes then swept the floor, only to discover a small human. It was a pitiful sight. The human did not grow it¡¯s fur or shell yet and it looked as if it was covered with many fresh wounds and marks. It did have some black fur growing on top of its head though.
The predator looked at the small human with contempt, but as soon as he looked at its eyes, he saw determination. He saw the will to survive. He saw a grand destiny behind those eyes. Whatever it was, it was going to give him that glorious battle that he always wanted. He knew this human will not survive for long without him.
The predator ran out and invaded a boar den. As he dragged out the mother-boar, he walked to his cave with the boar in his mouth. When he sensed the small human, he threw the boar to it and motioned for it to eat it. The human accepted.

Chapter 2
¡°The World is a desert, I am the Oasis. Wait, I meant I eat desserts¡ either or¡± ~ The motto of the unknown king of Ikamaru
Emmanuel was dead tired. All he did was stand next to this stupid hill and guard some stupid wooden building. He expected as an Archbishop of the grand Ainsy Theocracy he would be in the frontlines defending all of humanity against the forces of evil. He was dressed in full battle regalia and at his side he held a sword given to him by the grace of Ainsy, his god, himself. ¡°My sheep need me to shepherd them. Obviously the pope is a heretic. He does not want me to strike at the very heart of evil¡± Emmanuel thought. ¡°I must destroy him before he makes humanity dead or worse.¡±
He heard the door to the little church open and came out the pope. The pope was not a large man. He was very short. He has been mistaken for a dwarf many times when he has entered the local pubs but he was able to show proof that he was descended from humans because Ainsy made him pope. Emmanuel was jealous because this dwarf was pope and not him. He wanted the position but nooooooooooooooooooooooooo, it had to go to that stupid dwarf. Emmanuel thought that Ainsy made a mistake in his choice.
Ainsy isn¡¯t a perfect god. He makes mistakes like the rest of us. I must correct him of his mistake¡± Thought Emmanuel.A case of theft: this story is not rightfully on Amazon; if you spot it, report the violation.
The pope walked slowly out and Emmanuel was waiting for the imposter to make a mistake so he can drive his blade into its stomach. Ainsy would reward him greatly Emmanuel thought.
The pope suddenly replied ¡°I¡¯m sure Ainsy would not like what your thoughts are. Your mind is clouded with jealousy.¡± Startled, Emmanuel reeled back, but maintained his composure.
¡°I did not think of anything like that¡ maybe it is an infiltrator that you just heard¡± Emmanuel said. A cold sweat was forming on the Archbishop¡¯s face. If the imposter figured him out, it would be lights out for humanity.
¡°Maybe, but we both know we are in a very safe place¡± The pope replied back.
Both men looked at each other for a moment and looked away.
¡°I suppose you must want to fight¡± said the pope.
Emmanuel said nothing.
The pope continued ¡°I have been just told by our lord Ainsy that an evil beast has awaken on the other side of the continent.¡±
¡°So?¡± Replied the Archbishop. ¡°This happens all the time nowadays. Just send one of our templars or priests to deal with the thing.
¡°Ah, but Ainsy has told me that you must kill them.
¡°Them?¡±
¡°Excuse me, it. I missaid. Anyway, You must go at once¡±
The Archbishop glared at the pope.
¡°I don¡¯t like this.. But alright.¡±
¡°Get going, I don¡¯t like unbelievers.¡±
"Why thanks for the compliment."

Chapter 3
Men shall help other men. Women shall help other women. Parents will help children. Children must be disciplined to help each other. ~ Horacio Chapter 2 Verse 2, this excerpt comes from the Brak, the Ainsy religious book.
The little human was not cooperating one bit. The predator wanted it to hunt along side him, but it only dragged him down. Then again, he really could not speak Human because who gave a crap in the wilderness? No Predator with a sense of self would allow it to disturb them. Whenever human was spoken, it became an organized hunt to devour the meat.
Human meat is good the predator thought. It wasn¡¯t too tough like Wyvern and too soft like slimes. It was just right. The blood also restored his health too. When ever he was injured, he would just prey on an unsuspecting human and devour it. Stolen from its original source, this story is not meant to be on Amazon; report any sightings.
The predator looked at the pitiful human. He looked as the little human stumbled about and fell. The predator just sighed. When he felt the earth shake, his ears perked up. A worthy opponent The Predator thought.
The Predator raised its muzzle and began to sniff. The nostrils open and closed with each scent it took it. The grass, the trees, the rabbits, everything was being found. The unfamiliar competitors had come.
There was four of them, each dressed distinctly different. One had grown a large shiny shell with a long flowing red mane coming from the shoulders. The head was also covered by the shiny shell, but it had slits to see through probably. The next one reminded the Predator of a charmeleon. It was hard to see with eyes and it was armed with a stick with string with another stick with feathers. The predator winced, he did not like those sticks with feathers. Such a waste.
The other two the Predator could not see, but they smelt like white. Water. Holiness. Something more godly than anyone, or anything can imagine. It felt¡ Calming. A few trees away, The little human in the group¡¯s general direction trembled slowly, but shook more and more as they got closer..
