 Our new life

    I was watching a Youtube video review on a popular video game when I heard a voice in my head.


    "Humans of Earth we the Galaxian''s Protectors of life bearing planets have found that Earth is in danger of irreversible damage. We have found your leaders incapable of fixing this issue, so we have no choice but to digitize all humans into their choice of simulation. You have three days to choose, by that time, we will choose for you if you have not chosen."


    I was in shock but also weirdly ecstatic. Ok, not so weirdly. I have dreamed of something like this for a while now, a way to escape my reality. That''s why I failed to notice my phone ringing. I quickly answered the phone and when I did I heard my mom''s voice.


    Mom "Alex don''t choose yet we have to talk about it first."


    Alex "Uh how do you choose?"


    Mom "Were you on the computer?"


    Alex "Yes."


    Mom "Then look on your computer."


    I did just that and I saw it switched to a new website, one with a list of simulations. There was only five: a fantasy one, a sci-fi one, a post-apocalyptic one, a constant vacation one, and an earth one. Needless to say, I wanted to choose the fantasy one. I knew mom might like sci-fi better so I asked her.


    Alex "Mom you want to do the sci-fi one, don''t you."


    Mom "Yes but this scares me. I don''t want to be by myself... wait, the site changed, why did the site change?"


    I looked at the site and saw an update to the world selection and more information. The post-apocalyptic one was changed to a prison world and with a statement that said:


    ''Due to a new understanding of the human race, we have changed the system. Anyone within the simulation that does anything we deem inhumane will be sent here after a trial made by the system.''


    Then I saw a disclaimer at the bottom of the page that said the simulation chosen above is your home simulation and that for those that wish to visit family members may do so through the tourist system.


    Alex "Hey mom, it said we can visit one another so I can join fantasy and you and Hyp can join sci-fi."


    Mom "Thank god! I thought I might lose you forever."


    Alex  "No Ma if this wasn\''t the case I would have chosen sci-fi. Well, tell everyone I\''m going into the fantasy world."


    Mom "Ok sweetie, I can''t stop you."


    Alex "Bye Mom."


    Mom "Bye!"


    I hung up and clicked on the Fantasy world option. Then my vision went dark. I awoke to feel lighter. Then I remembered, so I looked down at my body and found myself at age 17, my physical prime. I was admiring my new found muscle when I heard a feminine voice.


    ??? "Are you done admiring yourself or would you like me to clone you so you could continue where this might lead?"


    In front of me stood a gorgeous woman made up of circuits and machinery. Gold skin and silver eyes.


    Alex "Sorry, I just haven''t had muscle in years. My name is Alex, what''s your name?"


    ??? "I am Adessa the Admin of the system meant to be your new home. I want to meet every human to help them adjust to the system we have built. You have chosen the fantasy simulation which means you must create a character."


    Alex "What if my mom or other family members want to visit me?"


    Adessa "All transferred humans will have a personal home space where you can take your original form that others may visit at any time."


    Alex "Then ok, this is acceptable, so how do I create a character?"


    Adessa "What race or mix of races have you always wanted to be in a fantasy world"


    Alex "A half elf half silver dragon from D&D."


    Adessa "We can make that happen, though, our System is different than D&D. Keep in mind if you choose to be that, then your EXP gain will be 3x slower than a human''s."


    Adessa "Our world does not have stats you can see but you will be able to see your skills and abilities. You can choose one ability to start with. Everything else must be learned through hard work. So what would you like?"


    Alex "Synergy* the magic ability to combine two or more things and deconstruct them."


    Adessa "Very well enjoy your time in Dromia!"


    Alex "Thank you."


    A light surrounded me and I found myself in a town. A blue screen appeared in front of me

    Hyp "Well, I think you should call your parents and see what they are doing."


    Hinwyn "Ok."

    Pops  "I don''t know them aliens gave her a different choice after she asked them. You should see a Pokemon simulation going up soon on their stupid notifications. I can''t even finish watching the game!"


    Hinwyn "Wow, they created a whole simulation on one girl''s request? I wonder why they didn''t just make a simulation on every franchise instead of mixing all of the same genre''s together?"


    Pops "I don''t care! I just want to enjoy what little life I got left. As long as the kids are happy and well-taken care of, I don''t have to worry."


    Hinwyn "Ok Dad, see you in three days."


    Pops "I''m not gonna be there."


    He hung up. God, why does he have to be so stubborn? Here he is given a chance to live with his family forever and he wants death. I looked over to Hyp to see that he finished reading the information.


    Hyp "I think we should go for the sci-fi one."


    Hinwyn "Ok, let''s go."


    We clicked on the digitized sci-fi button and I found myself looking like I was 18 and beside me was my husband looking like when he joined the army. In front of us stood a mechanical woman that had a smile on her face.


    Adessa "What is it with humans and the need to check over their body, I will never know."


    Hinwyn "It helps us adjust to them when they suddenly change."


    Hyp "More importantly, how are we both here?"


    Adessa "Why? Would you rather be with your old mate than your current one?"


    Hyp "Like I would want to live with her."


    Adessa "Well the reason why both of you are here is that the brain scan found that you both are current mates."


    Hinwyn "Wait now that my tubes are no longer tied what if I don''t want to have children?"


    Adessa "You can find a personal options screen that allows you to turn off certain bodily functions like hunger and waste removal as well as the chance for childbirth."


    Hinwyn "Oh thank god!"


    Adessa "You''re welcome, though, I prefer goddess."


    Hyp "You''re not god."


    Adessa "The god of the Christian religion I am not. The goddess of the simulations you find yourself in I am."


    Hyp "Well as long as you understand that."


    Hinwyn "HYP, you''re being rude."


    Adessa "No not at all but I would like to get to the debriefing."


    Hinwyn "Go ahead."


    Adessa "As you will be living in a universe modeled on your species Sci-fi novels there is information that you need to know instead of having you go to school for things anyone would know we are going to download data packages into your head. This might sound scary but it will not harm you."


    Hyp "You won''t brainwash us, right?"


    Adessa "If we wanted to do that we would have forced humankind to be exactly like us instead of digitizing you. But it is against our morals to do so."


    Hyp "Ok, I guess."


    Hinwyn "Wait, what about our dogs?"


    Adessa "You will find all your pets in your home simulation waiting for you. I am surprised your son didn''t ask about his dog."


    Hinwyn "He is just excited about this is all. He has been desperate for an escape from reality."


    Adessa "Yes most humans I have talked to today have been such. Though a majority of humans still have not digitized and some are demanding we leave the human race alone."


    Hinwyn "Most humans are not as adaptable as us. To be honest, I would not be here if my children were not already digitized."


    Adessa "Yes, your daughter was hard to digitize as she was not healthy. Same with your sons. In all three we have found physical and psychological abnormalities. It was hard to keep their personality intact while fixing these issues."


    Hinwyn "You mean they''re cured, have you got rid of mine?"


    Adessa "Yes they''re cured and so are you. We care about the human race."


    Hinwyn "You know with a little bit of guidance we as a species could have changed."


    Adessa "I know young one but the council has decided. Some were for that very idea, I''m sorry."


    Hinwyn "It''s ok, as long as I get to live with my family, I''m alright."


    Hyp "What about my daughters and their family, are they ok?"


    Adessa "I am talking to them now. They have chosen to be on the vacation simulation."


    Hinwyn "How nice!"


    Adessa "So, would you like to download the data packages now?"


    Hyp "Sure."


    Hinwyn "Ok."


    I felt a slight tingling in my mind as math, science, and languages flowed in my mind. Then she continued speaking.


    Adessa "Now you can choose a profession package. What would you like to be?"


    Hinwyn "I''d like to be a healer and travel the galaxies."


    Hyp "I want to be a droid engineer and starship mechanic."


    Adessa "Very well, you will be given a specialized profession package."


    More information went into my brain. I now knew how to diagnose and cure people as well as pilot a starship, she then continued.


    Adessa "Now do you have a weapon preference?"


    Hinwyn "Yes pistols."


    Hyp "Rifles."


    Adessa "Very well, you will be given information on how to repair and maintain your weapons as well as one weapon apiece."


    Hinwyn "Thank you!"


    Adessa "You''re welcome young one, now it is time for you to go."


    And just like that, our adventure had begun.

    After renting a room in the Dragon Bone Inn, a cheep inn situated in the rougher part of town, I made my way to the local training yards near the Adventurers Guild to find someone to teach me a martial art in addition to my magic. I figured with my claws could be an efficient weapon with the right training.


    As I reached the trainers a fight was happening in the arena. Two middle aged men with wildly different styles were having what appeared to be a friendly but fierce bout. One of the men was wearing nothing but a pair of training pants and a long black belt he was fighting mainly with his legs with a few punches here and there. The other man was wearing causal clothes like any one would wear; in fact it was kind of odd, how can a fantasy world have t-shirts and blue jeans? Well the man in the causal clothes fought by grappling and throwing with punches going towards vulnerable spots. He had a set of training katar''s on so I knew it was a martial art that could work with my claws.


    The bout was soon over ending in the first man''s win, and soon all the viewers of this bout had all but dispersed. I walked over there and struck a conversation with the two men.


    Alex "Well fought you both are great fighters."


    Man 1 "Yes we know we wouldn''t be masters of our respective fighting styles if we weren''t now would we."


    Man 2 "Oh just take the complement like a man Jacob he means no harm if he wanted to eat you you would be frozen solid by now"


    Jacob "I''m surprised the guard let him in town you know how they are Tim all smiling eye''s at first then the fangs come out."


    Tim "You will have to excuse Jacob he doesn''t like anyone not even me I mean we get on well enough but that''s beside the point what can we do for a young Immortal like yourself"


    Alex "immortal?"


    Tim "Yes Immortal those that can not die and live in a higher realm then us mortals. The king of Dromia has requested us masters to teach the new beings whatever they so desire as long as it benefits us that is. Some like me will teach anyone for free but only the basics while others like Jacob will teach you every thing he knows but you must physically learn it over years of hard work. None of the instant transfer of skill I like to use. While some wont teach you at all if it doesn''t benefit them to do so."


    Alex "So you will teach me how to fight like that?"


    Tim"sure the basics but you''ll have to figure the rest out on your own; come here let me lay my hand on your head"


    I did as he said and knowledge of the forms and exercises of the martial art was beamed in my head

    Tim "Only masters in a skill or an ability may make a new skill based on the one before it the Goddess have put this limitation exist for all beings even Immortals. I have tried in my youth to do such a thing and though I could see how to change the skill Judo to Judo/katar I could not do so. I came to learn the Goddess was preventing me from doing so till I became a master in both Judo and Katar "


    Jacob "Yes we all know the story, the point is kid it just isn''t done at your skill level."


    Alex "Ok I guess I will take those training katars then."


    Tim "Here you go kid now we got to get training our regulars so see you later. Feel free to use the training dummies in the back."


    Jacob "Yeah Git!"

    And just like that the two masters went off to have another bout. I went back to The Dragon Bone Inn to see what I could do with my Abilities but first I stooped by the Market to pick up some materials. At the market I saw a vendor unlike the rest he was mainly selling loot he got from the local dungeon, rusty daggers, monster cores and core fragments, tattered armor and the like, he wanted 2 silver for the lot of it. I obliged him even though it meant I could only stay two more day''s in the inn.


    In my room with my new found junk I decided to use Synergy to deconstruct the metal bits that were too damaged. I was left with five small bars of copper and two slightly rusty copper daggers. While I practicing deconstructing I noticed a draining sensation coming from somewhere near my heart. That''s when a system noticed appeared.

    I used one hundred mana on five daggers so that means each use of synergy cost twenty mana. I combined the two rusty daggers into one dagger I then used identify on it.

    I looked at my materials to see what might combine with the copper dagger, to settle on monster cores. After looking through the monster cores I settled on a fist sized one that was pure green. After using Identify on it I found it was a slime core. I used synergy to combine the two to find one hundred of my mana gone, it must take more amounts based on what your trying to do.


    I was left with a copper dagger that was sickly green. I used identify on it.

    Hyp "We can call up our menu with a gesture like swiping a smart phone. We should link our home servers together, Its this worlds version of a marriage."


    We did just that and went to our home server. Blue particles appeared surrounding us then my vision went dark then we was in a white void. Hyp went to work creating our space while I greeted the girls who were panicking being left alone.


    Hinyn "Were you scared all alone baby''s?"


    The two boxer mixes jumped all over me whining, wanting to be loved on. After the girls were comforted I looked up to see Hyp putting the finish touches on our little world It was a recreation of our house on earth complete with a back yard. Soon there was no whit left and the whole space looked like a nice country home.


    Inside the house was all our old stuff recreated from memory my books and computer his computer as well as everything else we owned. Wait if we have a computer does that mean there''s internet. I immediately  logged on to my computer and brought up the internet to find no websites made yet except by the aliens. It looks like people are going to have to recreate the internet.


    Hinyn "Hon I''m going to visit Luna why don''t you go see your daughters."


    Hyp "Ok lets go"


    I brought up the the family list i saw on the main menu and clicked Luna''s name. Soon I was in a quaint little town where I saw my daughter playing with a Pokemon she always liked, Evee. Luna who looked to be about fifteen years old and thinner then she ever been, looked up at me, barely recognizing me and exclaimed "Mom!", and ran over to me.


    Hinyn "Hi sweety are you enjoying your self."


    Luna "Yes I have an evee I always wanted one! I Was just about to go adventuring. where''s Alex and Justin?"


    Hinyn "I think they are both In the fantasy world I''m going to visit them want to come?"


    Luna "No you go ahead I want to stay here."


    Hinyn "Can I have a hug before I go?"


    Luna "Sure."


    I hugged my daughter  goodbye and went to see my two sons.

 Question (not a chapter)

    I work on this story pretty much non-stop (I dont have a job or school i''m disabled) and am doing this for fun part of my fun comes from having new ideas and i love for others to be part of my creative work so before i start on the next chapter I would like to see what you the reader would like to see. I do want to keep it family friendly though.

 Chapter 3(cant think of a good title)

    After selling the dagger to a adventurers guild store and applying to be an adventurer, I had 3gp and was ready to go on a incursion into the dungeon. My Natural magic like Dragon Magic and Elf Magic was more instinctual then learned I could use Magic based on spheres of influence using my natural well of magic my racial ancestry provided. A teacher in magic taught me how to do so, now I have Access to the ice, water and nature spheres that allowed me to manipulate those elements limited by my mana.


    With the knowledge came a new skill called Sphere Control that the more I leveled it up the easier my spheres was to use and the less mana they took.


    I learned that my mana increases with every ten levels of magic based skills in a scaling way. At level ten I get one hundred more mana, at level twenty two hundred more mana and so forth. Another thing I learned is that there is no cap on skills just an ever increasing challenge of reaching the next level, and with my racial debuff of three times slower experience it would be three times as hard.


    When I arrived at the beginner dungeon, which is instanced for learning purposes, I Got a message from my little brother Justin

    Dang it I was just about to have my first combat experience well if i go now i''ll have enough time get to the Jolly Giant before he arrives.


    On my way to the Jolly Giant I found myself tinkering with the monster core of a slime trying to identify it i learned that monster cores are hard to identify not for what they are I can see it is a slime core but I can''t see the stats it had in life. I was focused on the core when finally I had an idea what if i synergise the core with the identify skill, could be worth a shot who knows. I held the core up while identifying it and used synergy to find the core gone and an option screen in front of me.

    This was surprising though what would I expect it only worked on physical things before why would it work with both a physical thing and a skill. Although what if I syenrgise two skills after all, It did allow me to select a skill in the first place.


    Now on to the choice It was a tough one Assimilation could be a work around for my racial debuff but it could bite me in the butt. who knows how much experience a single core gives or what rank I would need to keep growing my skills. Though the Acidic Touch would give me a better weapon I could accidentally kill someone else if I wasn''t careful. I chose Assimilation though it might make it harder for me in the long run It was better than accidentally killing someone else.


    I arrived at the Jolly Giant to find my brother sort of. I mean it looked like my brother but with fur in select parts of his body he had wolf ears and a wolf tail basically he was a beast kin.


    Justin "Hey Alex you look different without your beard, and with scales claws ,and elf ears."


    Alex "I Don''t Have A Beard???"


    Justin "Surly you didn''t think you would be able to keep it choosing an elf race did you?"


    Alex .......


    Justin "you did didn''t you?"


    Alex "I forgot that elves can''t grow beards."


    Alex "what about you are you ok being a beast kin, you do know they are one of the most slaved race''s in fantasy."


    Justin "Players can''t be slaves."


    Alex "How so?"


    Justin "the system sends players to the jail world if they commit one of the three cardinal sins to other players, slavery, murder, and, rape."


    Alex "Does it protect you against NPCs?"


    Justin "I didn''t think of that."


    Justin "You know me I always wanted to be a wolf man."


    Alex "So what build are you going for?"


    Justin "Ranger I already bought a bow and a pair of swords and picked up the skills for them"


    Justin "What unique skill did you choose?"


    Alex "Synergy. What about you?"


    Justin "Soul Binding."


    Alex "What does that do?"


    Justin "It''s like taming but a lot more potent. I can bind a pets soul with mine and we gain benefits based on the level of the skill. right now if i were to bind a wolf to me it would have the same resurrection as a player as well as sharing exp. The skill levels up the longer I have a soul bound companion. What does synergy do?"


    Alex "I can combine two or more things or deconstruct something."


    Hinyn "There you two are I have been looking around for you."


    My mom said as she approached us or a guess this is our mom she looked like this in her photos when she was young.


    Alex "Mom?"


    Hinyn "yes sweetheart it''s me how are you both doing?"


    Justin "Good, you got to try the cheese cake mom that this place serves."


    Hinyn "Ok lets talk over some food then."


    We went in to the Jolly Giant to find it crowded with other players making me glade I chose a inn that was out of the way. The inn also had a restaurant I didn''t like crowds so we chose a table a little out of the way in corner of the restaurant. Soon a pretty young waitress came to take our orders. I ordered the roasted boar stew and a chocolate cream cake. Both my mom and Justin ordered a cheesecake. After a couple of minutes the two of them were eating cheesecake and my stew was on the way. Mom was the first to strike up a conversation.


    Hinyn "Do you know how long you two are going to be playing?''


    Alex "Forever."


    Justin "I don''t know."


    Hinyn "Remember to take breaks and boys your dogs are in your home server it would be wise to go to them as soon as possible."

    After eating my dinner I told Justin to meet me back here in an hour so we could go dungeoneering and promised mom I would visit all of the family. Then I went to my home server to find Percy my dog crouched in the corner of the white room. Once he saw me he came running as happy as he could be. After petting him I experimented with the home server options found that I could Link this realm to the game realm this would turn this home server into a grassland with a log house in it and I could buy upgrades like crafting stations library''s arcane research room training grounds, and resource nodes like mines forest and herb gardens. This would provide an in game benefit but I would be limited by my money no more god like powers here in this realm.

    After Alex left to tend to Percy, Justin and I went to training grounds where Justin had to finish a quest he explained that he already went to his home sever and tended to Colleen and now he needed to finish his quest to get some holy magic spells so he could heal his future companion.


    He was talking to a young priest and just like Alex could''t tell when someone was flirting with him too absorbed in what they were doing. Honestly I''m never going to get grand children am I? After Justin came back he said he was going to meet up with Alex, and I made him promise to visit his other family members otherwise those two would be at this forever never giving a thought that there family was missing them.


    I returned home and decided to check the internet to see if anyone created any websites, honestly I wanted to get to Bestine or Mos Eisley Cantina, I know that world like the back of my hand I could make quite a bit of credit offering cures for the rich people coming in contact with the Wamp Rats or other vermin. That planet was in constent danger and often needed the help of a medic. Soon  would be able to buy a star ship and we could make money bringing passengers to different worlds. I hate this the aliens got me addicted already. I have to remember that no matter what family comes first.


    Soon Hyp Came back From visiting his daughters with half of a funnel cake for me. He always thought I had more of a sweet tooth then I really did but I haven''t had funnel cakes in a while, I thankedhim for the funnel cakes and after I ate we decided to head back to Tatooine.


    Now on Tatooine we arrived in Bestine, I went straight to the clinic while hyp went to the junk yard. Our goal was to make enough credits to buy a star ship by the end of the month. As I arrived at the clinic the doctors there were in a panic with consent traffic of injured patients coming in and out. One tall lanky doctor came to me and said.


    Doctor "If your not injured please leave we have enough trouble fixing these patients without gawkers blocking the hallway."


    Hinyn "I can help I have medical training."


    Doctor "Thank god I need all the help I can get go to the medical supplies room get the stim packs and treat what ever patient comes your way.''


    Hinyn "Yes ok doctor ahh?"


    Doctor "Herbert Doctor Herbert now go we don''t have much time."


    Hinyn "Yes Doctor Herbert."


    For the rest of the day I worked on setting bone knitting flesh and other medical practices. By the end of the day I was bone tired and have made a few thousand credits. I also learned what caused the injures of the men coming in a mine collapsed not far from here.


    I meet up with Hyp and we returned to our home server with two droids chaises and a bunch of parts for him to work on. Though he couldn''t use his own tools for the droids so we bought tools at the grand bazaar. If he could build two functioning droids we could purchase a star ship in about two weeks.


    Now on my computer to see several forums up about the simulations and a few forums about trying to get out of the simulations and taking down our alien overlords. I Was reading a article about nanobot''s and how a medic character can do combat with them when I got a message that my father arrived at the earth simulation. The earth simulation was unique in that citizens could chose to get rid of their immortality and pass away naturally. No doubt he wished to live the rest of his days with mom without us needing him all the time the old worrywart. He never did want to live forever like the rest of the old timers. I guess I better visit him.


    Hinyn "Hon I''m going to visit dad and mom at the earth simulation."


    Hyp "Ok have fun."


    I arrived at their new hos to see mom and dad young again and enjoying each others company with the dogs in their lap and the cat''s at their feet. Wait the cats where are my cats?I looked in my main menu to find my storage two pet crates, with a message saying they were afraid the dogs would hurt them.


    With a sigh of relief I jaunted on up towards mom and pop Mom Was the first to see me.


    Mom "High isn''t this wonderful we are young again, hon do you want to go shopping."


    Dad "Whats the point when you could snap your fingers and get whatever you want."


    Mom "Still sour about being forced in here aren''t you dad?"

    Sorry about the wait I have been helping some friends move were still not done but I managed to write this small chapter

    After Alex and mom left I went to work gathering money by picking the pockets of the wealthy npcs that came to stay at the Jolly Giant. It was a skill I picked up from someone trying to do the same to me, only to find that I had higher senses then he expected. He taught me how as an apology and I''ve been using it to afford the supplies needed to tame an animal companion. After a hard day''s of work and almost being caught by a guardsmen, Alex finally arrived.


    Justin "About time you got back."


    Alex "I had some things to do besides you didn''t have to wait for me."


    Justin "Cool now are we going to the dungeon now?"


    Alex "Not yet let me see your weapons first."


    Justin "Why?"


    Alex "Do you want awesome weapons or not?"


    Man this is so infuriating he never tells me what he''s going to do and it almost always backfires on me when I allow him to do it, but he does have that unique skill synergy maybe ...


    Justin "Fine just don''t break them!"


    Alex "Yeah right."


    He took out three monster cores and a bright light enveloped the weapons the next thing I knew the weapons now were solid black he handed them to me.


    Alex "There better be happy those are worth more money then most players have at the moment."


    And he wasn''t kidding one weapon alone was worth three gold pieces I used identify on it.

    He''s right it''s the only way you start with an edge in this place, speaking of I wonder if I can bind the bow to me. I tried just that since I can have three bound companions to me at my skill level I can still have my wolf companion.


    It succeeded now well share experience so my bow will get stronger quicker.


    Alex "So Are we going to the dungeon or what?"


    Justin "Yeah let''s go"


    I followed Alex to the newbie dungeon but before we went in he looked at me and said


    Alex "Now before we go in I want all the monster cores in return I will turn one third of them into weapons and we split the proceeds down the middle agreed?"


    Justin "Sure but you know the boss cores are worth a lot too"


    Alex "I need those ok."


    Justin "Ok but if we come across a wolf or other animal I want don''t kill it."


    Alex "Deal."


    We went in the dungeon instance after starting a party to find the first enemies were slimes green regular slimes with a few acid slimes mixed in.

    Alex "Normally yes but I want those cores but they are weak to elemental weapons so your swords should do the trick at least on the regular green slimes."


    Justin "What about the acid slimes?"


    Alex "I''ll take care of those with magic."


    Alex shot several bolts of ice at the acid slimes avoiding the cores. I went and guarded him from the slimes with my twin long blades. Soon the room was clear and I had around 40cp and two health potions. It seems like the party loot sent most of the loot to my brother, he better do what he promised to do.


    Alex "How much copper did you get?"


    Justin "forty how much did you get?"


    Alex "None I set it so that all crafting material, monster cores, and half of the restorative items come to me while the money and the rest go to you. The weapons go to a shared inventory so that I can synergise them later."


    Justin "Why do you get all the crafting material?"


    Alex "So I can have synergy material."


    Justin "Fine but I get two thirds of the money after this delve."


    Alex "Ok go ahead I can make more later."


    Good I will be able to afford lots of skill books at the book store and I don''t have to do half the work it would usually take. Alex I love you but you are too generous for your own good. I should really learn that skill maybe if I teach him my skill would he teach me his? The goddess did say guard our secrets well does that mean they evolve overtime?


    By the time I stopped thinking we cleared almost all of the first floor seeing as they were slimes and some bats all that''s left is the floor boss. We arrived at the boss room to find a Green Slime Knight one of the lower tier slime bosses still powerful though. It was a green see through man with armor and a shield and sword combo.


    Justin "I''ll take point you back me up with healing and Ice bolts."


    Alex "Fine but who made you the boss?"


    Justin "Your mom."


    Alex "You know that joke doesn''t work when we share mothers right?"


    I ignored his jab and charged the knight it met me with a clang of metal. It was fast it was all I could do to just to dodge the bash of it''s shield.  It slashed down with a heavy strike of it''s blade too fast for me to dodge but before it hit me a arrow made up of ice slammed into it''s chest sending it back by about two feet, I took the opportunity to attack it with a double slash  towards it exposed face. It hit before he could recover from the slow debuff. Slimes started forming around the boss as he stood there recovering. A storm of ice rained down on the new emerging slimes as Alex called for me to get back I did just in time for the boss to recover from the first debuff and the little slimes to die.


    Now the boss with yet another slow debuff lurched towards Alex. I rushed in and slashed at any exposing slime flesh that I could reach. The battle continued like this for about thirty more minutes before the slime started showing signs of damage and a weird icon appeared above it.


    Alex "Get down it''s going to blow!"


    I ducked as an ice shield appeared in front of me and I heard Alex collapse behind me from mana exhaustion but I was saved from the explosion of metal that could of killed me.

    Alex "Good job buddy lets use them when we get back I want to beat the second floor now."

 Chapter 5

    i stayed up late to write this since tomorrow I still have to help my friend move or pack as it were and I wont be able to write most of the day

    My name is Alissa I was working at the Jolly Giant when I saw it, two men were talking I thought they were mildly cute nothing to write home about but they were interesting. One of them was stealing from the rich pigs that I waited on I''m glad they are a few gold lighter, show''s them. I hate some of the local customers that think just because their rich they think they can grab my ass. the other one though did something unbelievable he turned shoddy gear the new adventurers often use into magic weapons but he didn''t use any enchanting equipment. One of them was even a living weapon in the right shops you could sell that for a few thousand gold. You could tell it is a living weapon by the aura it gives off not everyone can read auras but any mage worth their salt picks it up.


    It''s been a couple of days since then and now new people in town appear in a flash of light, people are calling them immortals as they don''t die permanently they are also really stupid I have seen them all over town but most come here to stay the night. They usually only have enough money to stay one night as this is a upper class establishment. Then after they spend all their money here they don''t have enough to buy training or have a place to stay so you see them all over town living like hobos, begging other immortals for money. Though the first wave was smart like those two men, knowing exactly what to do, the wolf man only stayed here so he could steal from the rich and the dragon spawn went to a lower class inn, no one is stupid enough to harass a dragon, even a half.


    They returned today but before they went to the adventures store that was famous for ripping people off I stopped them.


    Alissa "Hey you two over here."


    They looked over at me with a look on their face that spoke of amusement making me mad.


    Alex "Yes what do you need?"


    Alissa "I thought you could use some help, meet me in the back and well talk."


    Justin "What do you think Alex?"

    They followed me to the back of the store where I put up a sound barrier.


    Alissa "Ok you two If you listen to me we could be rich, richer then even the mayor of this town."

    Alissa "Your friend there is capable of making living weapons so we sell those to the right merchant and we could make thousands of gold enough for me to finish my schooling and for you two to become merchant kings."


    Alex "Their worth that much? The adventurers guild only gave me three gold for one of course the recite only said enchanted weapon."


    Alissa "The adventurers guild is famous for cheating it''s customers, also to my knowledge they don''t have anyone capable of reading auras."


    Alex "Auras?"


    Alissa "Yes auras the spiritual representation of the soul, mana and what magical ability one has. For instance you are carrying six living weapons and two companion eggs. and you are carrying three companion eggs."


    Justin "But why should we include you in this we would make more money without you in the mix."


    Alex "JUSTIN!! She is trying to help us that isn''t appropriate, I''m sorry miss ahh?"


    He''s naive that is the right kind of question to be asking in this situation.


    Alissa "Alissa and it''s fine I will answer the question why I should be in the cut. First off I can have you both arrested you for stealing." I point to the wolf kin "And you for association." I point at the dragon.


    Alex "Justin you didn''t?"


    Justin "Yeah I did but I didn''t know someone was watching, so what''s the second thing?"


    Alissa "I''m the only one here that has any contacts with the right buyers."

    Alex "There it''s agreed we will split the first shipment two ways you and Alissa. then me and Alissa will split it two ways after this from then on."


    Justin "Why just one shipment?"


    Alex "your share of the dungeon delve, afterwards me and her will go into business together BUT I will give you money for cores."

    Alex "I''m the only one that can make them besides your getting two shares that''s a lot of money, you need to strike it on your own anyways little brother."


    Justin "Fine I guess I do, I will adventure from now on I didn''t want to be a merchant or a wizard like you anyways."


    Alissa "Good now let''s get this down in writing, not that I don''t trust you but I would like a contract first."


    I wrote up a contract stating that I Alissa Jones and him Alex Damion will be equal partners in the sale of weapons, armor, and other magic items. Him making them and me selling them as well as handling the finances. We would send two thirds of the profits back into the business while we would split the other third down the middle. He read over the contract so he wasn''t dumb just naive, then he signed it.


    Alissa "Good now I need you to move to the Jolly Giant and we need to buy the materials."


    Alex "Sure can I get a copy of the contract though with both our signatures?"


    Alissa "Sure." he really isn''t dumb


    After making up the second contract we dispersed and I went to my uncle who was on his way to the capital.


    Alissa "Uncle Xerone I hit it big you need to sell these weapons to the Wizard Guild in the capital. Six of them are living weapons you can have half for this shipment but I need the money as soon as possible."


    Xerone "Sure sweetie but where did you get them?"

    Now let''s get to the two prizes for today the boss cores. They are significantly bigger then their counterparts. The question is, what do I do with them since I can only gain exp by eating monster cores I should eat one but they might have a cool effect if I synergise them with my body, but the downside is that there is no take backs if I get bad options I am stuck with them. The slime knight core is bound to have something to do with the martial path while the kasthan mage core will have something to do with the arcane path, well I''ll just go for it.


    I synergised them with my body one at a time first the slime knight.

    I went to the market to buy everything I needed to outfit my companions.

    Hey sorry for the length of this chapter I will try better tomorrow

    I was back in my room at the Jolly Giant waiting for my two companions to dress in their equipment it was newbie gear enhanced with a few monster cores I tried synergizing more than one core at a time to great failure. The weapons that already had a soul exploded from the force of having another soul heaped on top of it. If it wasn''t for my newly acquired natural armor I would have died. But they were wearing good equipment.


    The First to finish dressing was Sara she now was wearing holy armor over a tunic and trousers. The armor was made from newb platmaille and holy water, same with the sword and shield she had. I gave her a skill book on healing so that she can be more like a paladin. Xander now wore dark leather armor and had four daggers each of the shadow alignment.


    A few days have passed and by talking to Alissa I have learned that the skills and spells most adventurers learn from the trainers are the bare bones and the so called ''wizards'' that are adventurers don''t have a fine control of a true spell caster, as they don''t learn the meaning behind the chants and runes that they use. She also said that the only way to become a true spellcaster is to go to a Arcane University where they teach it. I was interested in going but she said one needs to have a basic understanding of magic first, so I asked her to teach me, she agreed for more money. She began by teaching me how to read auras which took a day, after that she began teaching me all she knows about magic, theory, history, spell formations, the runic alphabet,and much more. I also  spent the time learning crafts from the master artisans around town a locals recommendation goes a long way.


    A week passed by and finally the money arrived. I now have enough money to get Justin to do what I want, I''m such a evil brother. After giving the money I owed Justin we bought enough material for me to make one hundred magic items but out of all the one hundred only forty-five  became living. I had fifty cores left ranging from grade F to grade A so I ate them gaining a total of one-hundred-thousand and twenty-two experience.

    New knowledge flooded my mind giving me a headache so strong I was on my knees in pain, after a few minutes I recovered enough to stand, my Npc companions there to help me. It looks like I will have to be careful of how much knowledge I gain at once I could die from that amount of pain.


    I began looking for a university for me to go to.

    Now that I have my three companions a Slime Wizard a Kasath Warrior and a Frogmen Rouge I decided to head to a new dungeon in the hope of getting more companion eggs since I can have only four active I will find a healer acrhtype to keep and sell the rest Alex probably would like two more as well. Well I''ll make sure to charge him extra cutting me out of the deal, probably because I forced him to give me his share of the dungeon delve. Though he will probably give me whatever I need though he''ll hold it over me for the rest of my life.

    The first floor was a Serpents den with snake people controlling them. We were having a hard time because of the poison I only bought enough cure for a few hours of fighting but we have been at it for an hour already and we haven''t even found the boss room. Two hours have passed Ally the slime is the only one strong enough to get us out of here the poison have all but parylized the rest of us the boss of the floor is a B Rank boss we didn''t stand a chance it was a young green dragon I need help.At the exit of the dungeon I saw another party of adventurers players like me though they had a glitchy particle effect around them once they saw me they shouted


    Group "Death to the alien lover"


    And promptly killed us.


    The next thing we saw was the town spawn portal where we spawned in the same position I quickly messaged Alex telling him what happened and to meet with me. He arrived and took me to the Jolly Giant.


    Alex "So Players killed you and company right?"


    Justin "Yes and the thing is I feel week like I have the flue."


    Alex "What! That should not be possible you should be healthy. Let''s call the admin."


    Justin "What if she deletes me?"


    Alex "I don''t think she will but I wont let her if she tries."


    He made a swiping gesture accessing the main menu he called up the gm and the next thing we knew we were in a white void with the admin in front of us


    Adessa "This is worse than I imagined to think someone corrupted your code the only thing I can do is reset you that means you will lose all of your ability''s skills and items."


    Justin "No please I worked so hard for those and what about Ally, Xactue, and Gribble?"


    Adessa "I will give you new skills and ability''s and those three will be reverted to egg form."


    Justin "Fine I want something powerful though."


    Adessa "I can give you a skill or ability on a power level equaling all your skills and ability''s up to date."


    Justin "How about whenever I kill something I can turn it into a summon that is under my control?"


    Adessa "Very well you shall have Soul Summon."


    Adessa "Now onto a more pressing matter you say players did this to you? odd I have no logs of a crime happening yet."

    Alex is going to experiment more heavily with synergy next chapter and I would like suggestions on what he should  do. He will try to synergise his skills so possible combinations would be nice.
