《Songs of the unknown》 Chapter 1: the birth of Thane ¡°There you go.¡± My nurse said as he placed me in the pod. ¡°Thanks.¡± I said as he closed the lid. Today was the day that they¡¯d let me play S.O.T.U. for the first time and the game hadn¡¯t even launched yet. While in most VRMMORPG you¡¯d get the chance to create your own character right? Well I did not, my character would be Thanatos and did I mention that he¡¯s also one of the games end bosses? When they first introduced Thanatos to me I was kind of surprised he wasn¡¯t a player character but a boss monster¡­the god of death. Ironically Thanatos was of the Angelic race, although in game they were called Celestials; winged humanoids with fair skin and light colored eyes. Reading on this site? Luckily to save me some time they created a teleport feature since the world of S.O.T.U or Sutoria is quite big. I called it Sutoria since there doesn''t seem to be an official name. I also decided on an alias since well a name like Thanatos tends to attract unwanted attention so I chose Thane... I looked around now standing more firm on feet, still surrounded by the scary looking fokes.'' Guess I need to get rid of this name tag, but how hmm'' I turned towards one of the less scary looking Npcs and raised my hand." Uhm... E-Excus-..." before I could finish my sentence the guards raised their swords. " Don''t let that monster curse you with it''s honeyed words! Cease him!" Still not comfortable moving my new body, I didn''t have the chance to resist. That''s how I ended up in a prison cell chained to the wall. Oh did I mention there are 2 beast tamers and a young man that seems to be the court magician judging by robes he''s wearing. Surprised by my lack of resistance they send them over to my cell to get me checked I guess. Oh I forgot to introduce myself I''m Gregory call me Greg if you like" he said while putting up that fake smile.'' Well at least he''s trying'' I thought to my self as I looked down." ....T-Thane..." I said in a small voice. He looked at me surprised and then he smiled but this time it wasn''t a forced smile. He looked genuinely happy. " So you can speak I thought you had gone mute hahaha, nice to meet you Thane." I looked up to him dropping my poker face." Uhm... Gregory-san... I woul-" ." Hush no need to say anything you''re the new hidden GM right? I knew you where coming I just didn''t imagine you would be... well..." This time I interrupted him " A monster?" I asked starring at him." Well I was going to say this pretty... but yes I guess you could be classified as a monster." I looked at him confused.'' Pretty? He knows I''m a guy right?''. So remember last time I got locked up right? Well Gregory got me out somehow and made me do all kind of errands. The people laughed at my clumsiness,but at least they don''t try to kill me anymore. Gregory even tried to make me do lewd stuff... '' Gregory is so getting punched'' I walked over to his chambers and kicked open the door there he sat on his chair with that fake smile on his face. I glared at him and before I could do anything he opened his mouth " oh Thane I wanted to speak to you. Listen I found a way to remove that name tag of yours" he chuckled noticing my anger knowing I couldn''t hit him right now. I clenched my fist and to calmed down."Alright so what do you have" I said while putting on a poker face. He smirked and tossed me a skill book. "It''s the for the skill called lie or deception it makes it easier covering that impressive title of yours " I looked through the pages and a message appeared.

I asked with my poker face on although that somewhat became my default expression. "Nothing nothing my dear I''m just happy that now nobody will know your real beauty and that you''ll always be my little angel" that last word flipped the switch a few seconds later Gregory was down with his nose bleeding he looked at my with those sad puppy eyes. ''That guy...'' I bit my lips feeling a bit guilty. I looked down away from the direction he was in." Y-you were asking for it" I said quietly. He stood up with his face bleeding "You''re so cute when you''re like that dear." He said while hugging me. I felt paralyzed again and in that very moment a tear rolled down my cheek which he carefully wiped of with his thumb. Silently I whispered "Gregory you''re an idiot..." Chapter 4 First confrontation with Gregorys enemies Chapter 4 First confrontation with Gregory''s enemies A few days ago the migration event started ( aka launch day) to add more of a realistic feeling to the game they only allowed players to spawn at certain areas. The village where I spawned Gremora wasn''t included so staying here to long might cause problems. Oh yeah I finally got my user ID, this way I don''t have to risk getting unmasked for now, but when Azura unlocks it''s open season... great I''ll get chased around by the entire player community *sighs*. Players are definitely worse than most monsters probably because it''s just a game for them. I tend to forget that this world is a game it''s just on that level realism or I am just that desperate to forget the real world... "Hey Thane wake up" I heard Greg''s voice in the distance, followed by me getting shaked by my shoulders. " Thane wake up already or do you need a kiss to wake up!" I slowly opened my eyes and saw Gregory''s face closing in almost by instinct I tried punch him but he stopped my hand and kissed it. I looked at him my eyes wide open in surprise (still poker facing), he smiled at me." Good morning princess." I got up brushing the leaves of my clothes. Gregory reached toward my head and picked a leaf out of my hair. " We should get going to a bigger village"he said looking at the map. " Is it okay?" I asked. He looked at me blankly " What do you mean?". "Well you''re a court magician right?" he put on his cat smile. "The village elders decided it would be better if I looked after you to prevent further danger." I shrugged. "Ah ...I see". ''Like I ever caused any danger pfff''. The streets where full of players most where still novices but there where a few higher leveled ones and they had already noticed us I could feel them starring at me. Well Gregory wasn''t going unnoticed either with his flashy court mage uniform. " those two must be pretty high level huh, but what are they doing in a place like this" I heard one of them say. To be honest human form is only level 6 but my true form; Thanatos is at the level-cap. Don''t know what level Gregory is though. After wandering through the streets two girls approached us" Could we come and hunt with you guys we''re only level 12 but we''ll do our best" they declared with hope in their eyes. ''Level 12?? I''m only level 6...'' before I could say anything Gregory stood and front of me and looked at me with a devilish smile, turned towards the girls and said:" I''m sorry my fair ladies but I have to deny your request." They stared at us and asked"Why?". Gregory continued:"Well because we would only be a bother to you since we are of lower level and pretty boy behind me is well...MINE..." The girls blushed when they looked at me as they passed. When I finally realized what had happened all I could do was stare at Gregory blankly. He noticed and chuckled" What are you starring for?" He took my hand and dragged me along... Chapter 5: New friends? After wandering through town aimlessly, we stopped at the adventurers guild. "Interested in becoming a hero Thane?" Gregory asked. I looked at him and chuckled. "The god of death becoming a hero pfff..." Gregory opened the door and guided me in and then pointed at a nearby table, "Wait here for me and don''t go starting a fight on me okay?" Confused I looked up at him "Where are you going?" He smiled "I''m going to hand in my report on you we wouldn''t want the guild coming after you right?" I nodded and watched him leave. Soon young man joined me at the table" Hi there are you alone?" I looked at him"Well you''re sitting here right? But no I''m not here out of my own account, my ''friend'' went to meet the guild-head." He opened his eyes wide in surprise. "The guild-head huh?" he muttered to himself. "Uhm anyway I''m Killian, my party and I were looking for 1 or 2 extra teammates..." I continued staring. " Thane I''m back" Gregory suddenly called out of nowhere. "Oh who might this person be?" I glanced at Gregory who was hugging me from behind." His name is Killian he wants us to join his party..." Gregory sat down beside me and put on a serious face. "And for what purpose?" Killian answered just as serious"To find stuff and places before everyone else especially the the current end boss Thanatos, now that I think about it I guess I approached you because you remind me of him Thane..." I looked him eyes wide open in surprise. '' Damn he''s sharp...'' Gregory came closer to my ear and whispered. "That might be an advantage for us... if they succeed..." Gregory put on his fake smile again and looked at Killian "Sounds like fun count us in." Stolen novel; please report. We followed Killian to the outskirts of the city and entered an abandoned looking cabin 3 people where sitting at the big table in the middle of the cabin a big though looking guy with short blonde hair. Next to him 2 girls; a wood elf and a dark elf hybrid by the look of it. Surprisingly the cabin looked pretty good on the inside. As we came closer the blonde guy look surprised" Whoa he really does look a lot like Azura''s prince." I glanced at him a bit irritated. ''What''s with these people???'' All 3 of them stood up. Killian turned to the 3 " These are our new members." he said while waving his hands in our direction. There was a short silence which Gregory broke " I guess I''ll start with introducing myself I am Gregory and I''m one of the court''s mages Mr. Poker-face over here is called Thane don''t worry he doesn''t bite *Glaring at Gregory* ...Well unless you piss him off of course. Please take care of us" He said with fake smile. Killian followed suit: "I''m Killian I have the Hero profession and I specialize in one-handed swords" Blonde dude was next." I''m Keath and I have the Guardian profession I use the shield and spear. The wood elf was spacing out in my direction Killian quickly noticed " Psst Ellis it''s your turn" She snapped out of it."... oh sorry I''m Ellis and I''m a healer type mage I can handle the mace as well." The dark elf glanced at me and briefly smiled and went back to poker-facing "I''m Netch... I''m a rogue..." '' What class am I anyway hmm I can''t go and say God of death right?'' I cleared my throat "I''m a Necromancer." ''Close enough...'' I thought shrugging.
