《Discontiuned-Troubled Cat》


 Chapter 1: The New Cat

    "Hu.." the boy sighed deeply as he looked into the mirrior of the bathroom his bright blue eyes staring back at him and his messed up black hair that closely resembled a cats ears "I hope this dosen''t end like the other times" the boy brooded remebering everything that had happened to him up to this point "This has to work.." he said "It just has to" he said looking sadly at his reflection in the mirrior. He looked himself over he was fairly short and he didn''t have a very masculine face and unlike other boys his age his voice had not become any deeper then it already was he then looked over his clothes he was wearing a school uniorm which was a simple white collared button up shirt with a school badge pinned to it paired with a black slack pants. Over that he wore a black jacket that was zipped up half-way it was a secially desinged jacket ot had cat ears attached to the hood and it had a cat tail attached to the back his eyes glossed over the small cat head decal that had been sown onto it and placed a hand over it and smiled "At least your with me.." he said lowly he then took a deep breath and stared at himself in the mirrior "Let''s get this over with.." he said and he made his way out the bathroom into a hallway with many other boys and girls wearing school uniforms and then as he stepped away from the door a bell rang and they all started moving. As he walked he could already feal their eyes one him he took in a quick breath and continued along and as he was coming to a turn in the hallway two girls who were walking together came into view as he passed them by he could feal them staring at him and just out of earshot he heard one of them say "Did you see him!?" and the other responded with "Yeah! He''s so cute!!" and a small squell was heard the boy sighed "And so it beginns.." he said lowly to himself as he made his way to his classroom and the start of his new life in a new town,and in a new school with one small thought swimming through his head ''how long is it going to last this time?''. The boy made his way to his classroom constantly looking down at the note he held in his hand "Room 3-B" he repeated for the third time to himself he then looked up at the signs "2-A, 2-B, 3-A.." he read as he passed each classroom "Ah, 3-B!" he said finally reading ''3-B'' on a sign he took a deep breath and stopped at the door inside some students were already seated while others were standing talking amongst each other and at the front was a women looking over a folder flipping through papers. Then for a split second she looked around and then she saw the boy standing in the doorway she smiled and made her way towards the door she stepped outside and closed the door behind her she turned to hims with a smile "So,you must be the new transfer" she said "Yes Sensei" the boy replied "Ohh! You are just to cute!!" the teacher said "Thank you sensei" the boy said "All the girls are going to love you!!" she said with a smile the boy nodded and smiled back "Alright, wait here I''ll call you in after I call roll" she said and she went back into the room and closed the door. Through the shut door the boy could here the teacher calling name after name then he heard her say "Now class, I''m going to introduce a new student to you" fallowed by "You can come in now" she called.The boy took a breath and pulled the door open and walked in he walked to the teachers desk and stood beside it he then turned and face the class a collective ''Aw'' came from the girls fallowed by groans from the boys "Well, go ahead introduce yourself" the teacher "Alright" he said a few snickers came from the boys fallowed by some coo''s of girls "My name is Youado" he said "Please say your full name" the teacher said the boy sighed "Fine.." he then took a breath "My name is Youado...Youado Nekoichi" the boy said and he cringed the classroom erupted into girls swooning "Thats so cute!" a girl shouted Nekoichi shrank back "He''s so adorable!" another girl shoutes. "He''s so tiny!" another said "Look at his jacket!" another said pointing at him all the grils looked and another collective ''Aw'' came from the girls "That''s so cute!" one exclaimed soon the room was filled with the clamoring girls "Okay, that''s enough now!" the teacher said clapping her hands together "Now, Youado-kun, lets see where you''ll sit?" the teacher said looking around the room "Ah! over there in the back" she said pointing to an open desk in the back of the room Nekoichi nodded and started towards the desk he quickly noticed that the girls were still looking at him and he could also feal the stares of the boys "It''s the same again" he thought "Just like all the others.." he said remebering the other schools he had been to this was the fifth school he transfered to "It''s going to end the same way" he sulked. "Alright, class let''s begin shall we" the teacher said and she started teaching after hours of the theacher droning on and on along with the sound of pens scratching on paper and flipping pages Nekoichi craned his neck so that he could see over the person in front of hims head and looking back down at his notebook to write down what he read he could he snickers from some of the boys but, he ingnored it after a while the bell rang and the teacher stopped writing on the board she the turned and faced the class "Alright lunch time" she annouced and she walked out the classroom fallowed by other students inside the class some of the other students were arranging desks and putting away notebooks "Aw,man" Nekoichi groaned he looked up at the board and half of what he needed to write had been erased he groaned he hadn''t been able to copy everything down "Something wrong?" came a feamle voice. Nekoichi looked and saw a girl with long dirty blonde hair and she had eyes that were a mix of green and brown Nekoichi was caught off gaurd "Yeah, I wasn''t able to copy all the notes" Nekoichi said "Oh, you want to copy mine?" she asked "Yeah sure!" Nekoichi said "Alright wait here" she said she went to her desk and she then quickly came back with her own notebook "Here copy what you don''t have" the girl said "Thanks uh.." Nekoichi said "Koromi...Koromi Rei" the girl introduced herself "Oh. then thank you Rei" Nekoichi said and he quickly copied down what he needed and then handed Rei her notebook. "Thanks again" Nekoichi said "No problem" Rei said putting the notebook under her arm "So what are you doing for lunch?" she asked "Oh, well I didn''t really think about lunch" Nekoichi said "Well would you consider going to the cafeteria with me?" Rei asked "Ah, well.. sure I guess if it''s really alright" Nekoichi said "Yep,now come on your new here so you should fallow me" Rei said Nekoichi nodded and stood up he then noticed he and Rei were around the same height and he heard some muffeled laughs from the other students Nekoichi cringed  but he ingnored the muffeled laughter and fallowed behind Rei she stopped to put her notebook away and the two of the walked out the classroom.  Chapter 2:The Cats New Friend?-Part 1-

    Nekoichi closely fallowed behind Rei his new acquaintance as they made their way to the caefetria there were many whispering voices as they passed through the hallway Nekoichi tried his best to ingnore the voices and the eyes on him "So, if you don''t mind me asking" Rei started Nekoichi focused on Rei "Hmm?" he said "What?" he added "Uhm, I was wondering why you transfered here" Rei said "Oh.." Nekoichi responded and he shrank back a bit  "It''s okay if you don''t want to talk about it" Rei said "Sorry" she added Nekoichi nodded. "She''d never understand.." he thought to himself "It''s just I was a transfer student last year" Rei said Nekoichi stayed quiet "She wouldn''t understand.." he thought Rei felt nervous so she quickly changed the subject "Hey!" she said "Your jackets really cute!" she said "Yeah, I guess so" Nekoichi resonded "It was made for me to match my name" he added "Oh, I see.." Rei said and silence feel between the two of them. "So.." Rei said trying to pick up a conversation but Nekoichi looked uniterested so she said nothing else and they continued their walk in silence as they rounded a corner the caefetria came into view "Well, here it is" Rei said Nekoichi looked and saw a small counter where a middle-aged woman stood behind "It''s really small" Nekoichi said "Yeah, but the foods not that bad" she smiled "Come on lets go get some food" she said walking towards the counter Nekoichi fallowed behind her "Yes, what can I get you two?" the lady asked "I''ll have the pork cutlet with rice" Rei said "Of course dear" she said "And you sweetie?" she asked turning to Nekoichi "Uhm, shrimp fried rice please" Nekoichi said "Alright I''ll be out in a bit" she said and she walked off Nekoichi and Rei waited for a few seconds and she came back with a plate of pork cutlet with rice and a plate of shrimp fried rice "Here you go" she said handing them the plates. "Enjoy" she said with a smile Rei and Nekoichi took their plates and bowed and walked away from the counter "Now where''s an open table?" Rei said looking all over the lunchroom "Over there" Nekoichi said pointing Rei looked and saw an empty tabel at the back wall "Wow, I never saw it" Rei said in surprise "You have really good eyes" she added "Yeah, I guess so" Nekoichi said blushing "Well come on lets go" Rei said making her way over to the empty table Nekoichi fallowed her and the quickly sat down again Nekoichi felt eyes on him he could slightly hear some girls talking he knew that they were talking about him and Rei as well. "It''s just like last time.." Nekoichi thought and a sad looked grew on his face "Hm? What''s wrong?" Rei asked taking notice " Nothing..." Nekoichi said and he started to pick at his food "You sure?" Rei asked in concern Nekoichi nodded "Alright" She said and she started picking at her food "So?" she said after swallowing "Hm?" Nekoichi said with a mouthfull "Is it alright to know where you lived before?" Rei asked Nekoichi swallowed "Nagano.." Nekoichi said "Oh that''s pretty far from here" Rei said "Hokkaido.." Nekoichi said "What?" Rei said confused "Osaka.." Nekoichi went on "Chiba.." Rei was silent "Wow" she said "You''ve lived in alot of places" Rei said "Yeah, this is the fifth town I''ve moved to" Nekoichi said "What?" Rei said Nekoichi jumped he just let out something he didn''t want know "You''ve moved five times?" Rei asked. Nekoichi sighed and nodded "Did one of your parents have an important job that you had to keep moving?" Rei asked Nekoichi didn''t answer "Sorry, am I prying to much?" she asked Nekoichi gave a nod "Sorry" she aplogized "Well, it doesn''t matter your here now" she said with a smile "Yeah, but for how long..." Nekoichi blurted out "What?" Rei said "Nothing.." he said trying no change the subject he went back to picking at his food "So, you said that jacket was made for you" Rei said "Yeah, what about it?" Nekoichi asked "Well, who made it for you? It looks well done" she said "A friend made it for me.." Nekoichi said blushing "A friend?" Rei said "Yes a friend" Nekoichi said "Oh, I see" Rei said and she dropped the subject "Man, he''s really hard to talk to" Rei thought "You must think I''m hard to talk to" Nekoichi said "Huh!?Wha!?"Rei gasped "I don''t like talking about my past other then that I''m fine" Nekoichi said "Ah, I see.."Rei said. "So, how''s the food?" she asked Nekoichi looked up "Your right It''s really good even though the caefetria''s so small" Nekoichi said taking a bite "Told you!" Rei said "So, do you like it here?" she asked "Hmm, well I guess I haven''t really seen much around here" Nekoichi said "I know the town a good bit I could show you around" Rei offered "Hmm, I guess I''d have to ask someone at home first" Nekoichi said "Are your parents strict?" Rei asked "No, they''re just overprotective of me since I''m their only child" Nekoichi said "My parents are like that as well they call me on my cell when I''m out too late to see if anything happened to me" Rei said "Wow, my parents let me stay out as long as I want because they trust that I''ll come home" Nekoichi said "Man, I wish my parents were like that" Rei sighed "They just love you, that''s why they do it" Nekoichi said "Hehe, your right I can''t be mad at them for loving me" Rei laughed Nekoichi smiled and soon the two hand fallen into a full blown conversation while they ate "So you like to eat fish, drink milk, and sleep during the morning?" Rei asked "Yeah, why?" Nekoichi asked "Well, that sounds like a cat" Rei said "I eat fish because it''s delicious, I drink milk so I can get taller, and I stay up playing videogames all night that''s why I sleep during the morning" Nekoichi said blushing "It has nothing to do with my name" he added "Alright, alright I got it" Rei laughed "But, milk won''t help you to get taller you need to stretch!" Rei said "No, I tried that and I''m still the same height" Nekoichi sulked "Hey don''t sulk like that! I''m short too!" Rei laughed "Yeah, I believe me and you are the same height" Nekoichi said "Yeah, I noticed that in class" Rei said "Don''t worry! Me and you will get taller one of these days!" Rei said "I guess I just wish it would happen now" Nekoichi sighed. "Sounds you have a height complex" Rei joked "No I don''t!" Nekoichi shouted Rei raised an eyebrow "Yeah,I do" he admitted "I''ve been the same height since middle school" Nekoichi said "I think the gods are playing with me" he added with a groan Rei laughed.  Chapter 2: The Cats New Friend?-Part 2-

    Rei laughed as Nekoichi blushed "Oh yeah go ahead laugh I don''t care!" Nekoichi huffed turning his head to the side "Sorry, sorry!" Rei said through a snicker she then quitened herself down "So, why the cat themed name?" Rei asked "Oh, that?" Nekoichi replied "My grandmother said that our ancestors worshipped cats as symbols of good luck" Nekoichi said "So, they decided to add Neko to their names thinking it would increase their luck" Nekoichi said then he sighed "And it would seem that tradition wasn''t forgotten" he gumbled "That''s really crazy" Rei giggled "Tell me about it, I have a sister named Nekohana, and a mother named Nekohara" Nekoichi said "Wow, sounds like a whole cat family" Rei said a bit in awe. "Yeah, it gets confusing when calling someone at home" Nekoichi replied "One time I was calling my sister and she and my Mom answered" Nekoichi complained "I see.." Rei smiled "He must have a really hard time at home" Rei thought to herself "Does your Dad have a cat themed name?" Rei asked "Hm, no he has a normal name" Nekoichi replied "Oh, so it''s just you, your mother and sister that have cat themed names?" Rei aksed "Yeah,since were all from the same clan unlike my Dad" Nekoichi said. Nekoichi and Rei had eaten almost half of what they had gotten for lunch while they continued to talk thats when the bell signaling the end of the lunch period rang "Oh the bell, we should get back to class" Rei said "Alright" Nekoichi said and they picked up their half empty plates and went place them alongside other plates left by other students and they walked out of the lunchroom together and continued talking and that''s when a though came across Nekoichi''s head "Uh Rei?" he said "Hm? What is it?" Rei asked raising an eyebrow "Uhm, you said that you were a new student last year, right?" Nekoichi asked "Yeah" Rei replied "And?" she asked "Well, shouldn''t you be a second year?" Nekoichi asked "Oh..That.." Rei said a bit of sadness in her tone "I''m sorry, am I asking too much I mean I only just met you" Nekoichi said with an apologetic look. "No, no, It''s alright" Rei said with a smile "The reason I''m still a first year is that because I was absent from school alot" Rei said "Were you really sick or something?" Nekoichi asked with a concerned look "Oh, no! That''s not the reason" Rei said "It was because I was scared being the new kid at a different school" Rei said "I was so scared to come to school because I didn''t know anybody here at all" Rei went on "And so, I stayed home because I was scared of being alone" Rei frowned Nekoichi said nothing but he knew what Rei was talking about he to had done the same thing but, for a different reason "So, when I saw you keeping quiet and to yourself in class I.." Rei paused "I was reminded of myself" Rei said looking at Nekoichi "And that made me want to go over and talk with you" Rei said "And I''m glad I did" Rei added "Huh, Why?" Nekoichi asked "Because, now I know you and I can become friends" Rei said with a bright smile Nekoichi blushed and felt his heart skip a beat "Oh, I see" Nekoichi looked away from Rei''s smiling face. Never in his life had someone called him their friend especially a girl usually girls wanted to be his friends because they said he was cute but Rei didn''t seem to have that motive behind her and it made Nekoichi''s heart beat wildly "Uhm, if were friends then what should I call you?" Nekoichi asked looking at Rei still slightly blushing "Oh, well, let me see?" Rei thought a answer dinged in her head "How about you call me Rei-chan?" Rei proposed "Okay, that sounds fine, Rei-chan" Nekoichi said with a smile Rei felt her face grow hot she quickly looked away from Nekoichi''s smiling face her heart pounding like crazy in her chest she fake coughed and turned and looked at Nekoichi "So, then, can I call you Neko-kun?" Rei asked Nekoichi made a hissing sound like a cat who was displeased Rei laughed nervously "Uhm, Ichi-kun?" Rei said Nekoichi''s spikey hair flickered like a cat''s ears would when happy and the cowlick on his head shook like a happy cats tail "Yeah, that sounds okay" Nekoichi said "Okay then, Ichi-kun" Rei said and the two smiled at each other and laughed as they made their way back to class. When the got back to class it was back to writing notes and Nekoichi craning his neck to see what was written on the board Rei laughed seeing Nekoichi strane his neck to see over the student in front of hims head. Soon after the bell for the end of the day rang and everyone in class started moving packing their bags and putting books back into their desks and some noisily heading out the door as Nekoichi was packing his notebook into his bag when Rei walked up to his desk "Hey, Ichi-kun?" Rei asked wiggling around with her hands behind her back "Yeah? What is it Rei-chan?" Nekoichi asked with a smile "Uhm,I was wondering if you wanted to walk home together?" she asked blushing her eyes wandered a bit like she was trying not to make eye contact with him "Sure, where do you live?" Nekoichi asked "Wha?" Rei said finally making eye contact she was blushing harder "Why do you need to know that?" Rei asked "So I know if we live in the same area so that we can walk the whole way home" Nekoichi asked and suddenly he blushed realizing what he just said "Oh, uh, I live a bit to the east of the school" Rei said "Oh, I live around their to!" Nekoichi said "Really? Where?" Rei asked "We live in an apartment complex that''s east of the conveniance store" Nekoichi replied "I know that place!" Rei said "What apartment number do you live in?" she asked with a smile on her face "Apartment 207" Nekoichi said. "Uh, would it be weird if I came visit sometime?" Rei asked her whole face was red her question caused Nekoichi to grow redder in the face as well "Ah, sure just let me know whenever you want to come over" he said "O..Okay" Rei said it seemed like a wave a heat was coming from both of them together from how hot their faces were becoming the longer they talked with one another. "Uh, so you wanna get going?" Rei asked fidgeting "Ah, sure let''s go!"Nekoichi said with a start and he shot up from his desk and the two of them walked out the classroom side by side. As they walked to the exit they could feal eyes on them Nekoichi felt it more then Rei did but being with her made him somehow forget people were even looking "Why am I like this?" Nekoichi asked himself "I just met this girl and yet whenever I talk to her my face gets hot, and my heart starts pounding" he wondered what had come over him Rei was thinking the same thing as she glanced over at Nekoichi ocassianlly "Why is it that a boy I just met is making me so nervous?" she asked herself "Whenever I''m near him my heart starts beating in my chest" she added Nekoichi could feal Rei looking at him "Is something the matter?" he asked "Huh? uh? no! Nothing!" she said flustered they soon exited the school building and they started their walk home together as they did nither one said a thing to the other they were avoiding eye contact with one another hiding the furiously red faces Nekochin gulped and decided to break the silence "So, how long have you live here?" Nekoichi asked "Huh? Oh! uh" Rei stuttered looking at Nekoichi "Well, we moved her last year so we really haven''t lived here that long" Rei said "I''m still learning how to get around town" Rei laughed "Oh, but since you''ve been here longer then I have, could you show me around sometime?" Nekoichi asked "Wha?"Rei gasped she felt her face grow even hotter then it already was "Sorry, am I asking too much of you?" Nekoichi asked with an apologetic face "Oh, No, No! It''s no trouble! Sure, how about on saturday? There''s no school on Saturday" Rei said "Sure, Saturday" Nekoichi said he blushed hard after his reply "Alright then, I''ll show you around town Saturday!" Rei said with a smile then she too blushed hard and silence formed between them again and lasted until the got to an intersection "Alright, I live this way" Rei said pointing to the left of the intersection "And I live that way" Nekoichi said pointing straight "Oh, then see you at school tommorow Ichi-kun" Rei said "Sure, see ya Rei-chan" Nekoichi said "Don''t forget about Saturday!" Rei said as she ran off with a wave "Okay! I won''t!" Nekoichi said waving back then the sudden realization hit him "Did I just ask Rei-chan on a date?" he asked himself and he felt his face get really hot if he were in a anime steam would be coming off his head as Rei walked home her face was also red hot "Did me and Ichi-kun agree to go on a date?" she asked herself. Nekoichi got home later that evening when he went into his familes apartment he called out "I''m home!" he yelled happily "Welcome home onii-chan" said a female voice and in walked his sister she was short like him and she had the same spikey hair that resembled cat ears and she had a long ponytail that reached down to her waist with the way it moved it was like a cats tail shaking around her neck was a string necklace with a bell tied to the end "Hey Hana-chan" Nekoichi said petting his sister on the head she blushed his sisters full name was Nekohana but Nekoichi liked to call her Hana-chan "You seem happy onii-chan" Nekohana said with a smile "I do?" he asked "Yeah, this morning you seemed kinda sad but now you seem really happy about something" Nekohana replied "Did something good happen at school?" she asked with a smile "You could say that" Nekoichi said with a bright smile Nekohana smiled seeing her brother so happy for once "Welcome home dear" came his mothers voice as she enetred the room "Hey Mom" Nekoichi said "My, my, don''t you sound happy!" his mother said with a smile "Come on Mom, Hana said that too" Nekoichi said "Well it''s true!" his mother said "I''ve never heard you sound so happy before!" his mother said "Did something happen that made you so happy?" his mother asked "He said something happened at school that made him really happy" Nekohana said "Oh, is that so?" his mother said with a big smile "Hana!" Nekoichi shouted blushing "Come on Nekochin! Tell your mother whats made you so happy?" she said with a hum "Well, I made a friend at school" Nekoichi said blushing harder "Ah! You made a friend on your first day at your new school!" his mother said happily "That make me so happy!" she added "And it''s a girl" Nekoichi said his face growing redder "Not only did you make a friend but it''s a girl as well!" his mother squelled "What''s her name!?"she asked excitedly her tied up hair in back of her swung back and forth like a cats tail "Uhm, Rei, her names Rei" Nekoichi said "She''s a girl in my class" Nekoichi said "And she''s in the same class as you!" his mother said with shining eyes "You mother is so happy for you!" she said "And, on Saturday me and her are going to walk around together on our day off from school" Nekoici said "Aw! You two just met and your already going out on a date!" his mother said "Mom!" Nekoichi shouted blushing furiosly "She''s just showing me around town because she''s lived here longer then me!" Nekoichi said "Whatever you say dear!" his mother said with a smile and a hum "Can you beleive it Hana-chan! Your brother has a date with a girl!" his mother said happily but for some reason Nekohana didn''t seem happy at all "Yeah, that''s amazing good for you onii-chan" Nekohana said a hint of sadness in her tone "Hana?" Nekoichi said concerned "I''m going to go lay down in my room" Nekohana said and she walked off "Hana-chan?" Nekoichi said with a sad lookon his face what made his sister become so sad all of a sudden "Wait until your father hears about this when he gets home from work!" his mother giggled and walked off "Mom! Please!" Nekoichi shouted running after his mother. Nekohana walked into her bedroom and she closed the door behind her and she walked over to her bed and she slumped down onto it she was stiffling a cry she uncovered her face and lowly she said "Stupid onii-chan!" with tears in her eyes and her face red holding the bell tied to the necklace around her neck.
