《The Warmhearted You》
Chapter 1: A coffee shop on a rainy day
Chapter 1: A coffee shop on a rainy day
It was the end of August, around dusk, when an unexpected rainstorm began. The pedestrians, caught off guard, sought shelter in the tea or coffee shops lined in the nearby streets.
However, for He Yu, the rain was an unexpected boon as more customers arrived, and the coffee shop¡¯s profits increased more than it did yesterday.
Stopping outside the shop¡¯s ss door, a customer carrying a ck messenger bag over her shoulder shook the rain from her clothing before entering. She had shoulder-length hair and was around 175 meters tall. She wore a simple outfit of a white t-shirt with camouge overalls, and the water dripped from her clothes, forming a steady puddle on the floor.
He Yu recognized the girl, although not by name, she knew the girl was a student from a nearby university and a frequent customer.
¡°ck Coffee, no sugar.¡± the girl ordered.
The usual order. However, the girl¡¯s voice sounded scratchy and rough, perhaps due to her difort from the rain. If she didn¡¯t change out of her wet clothes soon, she would catch a cold.
He Yu frowned as the wet hair stuck to the girl¡¯s face, and she softly said,
¡°Student, there is an umbre behind the door. Why don¡¯t you go ahead and take it? Go home and change into a pair of warmer clothes. You can return the umbre at another time.¡±
The other party heard her words, paused, and then took out a cell phone to pay for her coffee.
¡°Ok.¡± the girl said, and before He Yu could reply, she took the umbre and rushed into the rain.
He Yu stared at the girl¡¯s retreating figure and thought, what a weird person.
After a little over half an hour, when He Yu was making the coffee, the girl returned. She sat at a table near the bar, her hair now half-dry and no longer sticking to her face. With the hair out of the way, a noble face revealed itself. Her thin lips and high nose bridge, bined with a pair of eyes light in color that lifted at the ends, made her look very eye-catching.
To put it simply, she was beautiful.
He Yu carried the coffee over to the girl: ¡°Here¡¯s your ck coffee.¡±
¡°Thanks.¡±
¡°Your wee. Enjoy.¡± He Yu replied and returned to the counter.
This customer was not one for words and could be considered the quiet type. Except for ordering or delivering the coffee, the two rarely exchanged any other words.
Due to the rain, except for the rush of customers from earlier, no new customers wereing in. So He Yu could only whittle away the time by sitting behind the counter and checking her phone. She had received a message from her friend, Jiang Yun, inviting her to eat hot pot Sunday night at Guan Yin Qiao.
She thought about it and replied- ¡°Ok, but only if you can drive me there after work.¡±
She pressed the ¡°send¡± button, and a shadow covered her screen, she looked up-
¡°Hello, is there anything you need?¡± He Yu asked as she ced her phone down and stood up to greet the girl.
¡°En.¡± the other person nodded, her face tense and unsmiling ¡°I don¡¯t have any money left on my WeChat. Could I use some cash to exchange for 200 credits?¡±
¡°It¡¯s urgent,¡± the girl added.
¡°Ok, let me scan your phone.¡± He Yu responded, quitting out of her chatbox and clicking on the ¡°scan¡± option.
The other person¡¯s QR code required a friend request to ess, and so without thinking much about it, He Yu clicked and directly sent a friend invite.
The other side immediately epted the request.
¡°What¡¯s your name?¡± He Yu asked as she transferred the money.
¡°Ye Xun.¡±
¡°Ok, my name is He Yu.¡±
¡°En. Thank you.¡± Ye Xun still didn¡¯t say much and handed 200 yuan to He Yu before returning to her table.
_______________________________________________________________
The coffee shop closed exactly at ten pm. He Yu locked up the shop and walked home.
He Yu had rented a ce only a few minutes away. She lived in a gatedmunity, on the fifteenth floor of a tall apartment building, in apartment 1504. There were only two spaces rented out on this floor, so the apartment across from hers, 1503, was empty.
After taking a shower, she checked her phone and saw a notification on WeChat from Ye Xun. Drying her hair with a towel in one hand, she responded to the message with the other.
Ye Xun: Are you busy?
He Yu: No, just getting ready to blow dry my hair and go to sleep.
Ye Xun: En.
Their entire conversation was only three sentences. It seemed like there was nothing else for the two to talk about, so without a second thought, He Yu casually threw her phone onto the bed and took out a blow dryer.
He Yu¡¯s hair was dark and voluminous, and reached to her waist, making her soft and thin waist look even more tantalizing. When women reach the age of twenty-five, they needed to put in more effort to maintain their figures, and at the age of twenty-six, He Yu was no exception. She spent her time doing yoga, going to fitness sses, and patronized the local beauty salon, allowing her to maintain a fit, toned, and healthy body.
Although He Yu wasn¡¯t considered tall, with her height barely passing the 160 cm mark, her perfect proportions made up for it. Her pale skinplimented her thin waist, round hips, and C-cup breasts. ording to her friend Jiang Yun, He Yu¡¯s looks could even make a woman like her fall in love. Along with He Yu¡¯s gentle personality, she was almost perfect, and someone others can only attain in their dreams.
After her hair was dry, He Yu, out of habit, checked her phone onest time before going to bed. When she saw the message the other party sent, she was stunned.
Ye Xun: Do you have a boyfriend?
Chapter 2: The red mole on her collarbone
Chapter 2: The red mole on her corbone
¡°No, I don¡¯t have a boyfriend.¡±
He Yu had decided to text back truthfully.
The other party had read the text, for the screen indicated they were typing a response. However, they were taking a long time to do so. While waiting for the message, He Yu noticed the person¡¯s profile picture was rather strange. It seemed like a selfie, but there was no face showing, only what looked like a hand ced right below the corbone could be seen.
He Yu clicked on the picture for a better look.
In the picture, a drop of water slid down a finger, and more drops had scattered across the front of the chest, corbone, and a slightly raised neck. It looked like there was a mole beneath the left vicle; however, the lighting wasn¡¯t perfect, and it was half-covered by the hand, so He Yu wasn¡¯t quite sure.
He Yu closed the picture with a click and returned to the chat.
The response that took Ye Xun so long to type had finally been sent, and it contained only two words-
Good night.
He Yu nonchntly replied: ¡°Good night to you too.¡±
Then she set her room temperature to 26 degrees Celsius, lifted her covers, and went to sleep.
_______________________________________________________________
The next day.
Due to the rain yesterday, the air this morning was refreshing and colder than usual. Unlike her chaotic university days when she pulled all-nighters, He Yu¡¯s current healthy lifestyle was nice and stable. He Yu had woken up at around 7:30 am and washed her face before going outside to run ap or two. Then a little after eight, she took a shower, ate breakfast, dabbed on some light makeup, and was out the door by 9.
The path from her neighborhood to the shop was a simple one-way street. The sun had cast shadows through the inteced branches of the lush trees that lined both sides of the road.
The shop opened at 9:30, but because of the recent hot weather, there were usually little to no customers before noon. Most of the nearby residents were hesitant to travel outside under the hot sun, and the nearby schools were in session at this time, so no students would be out either.
When He Yu arrived at the shop, she first wiped down the bar counter. Then she cleaned the machine and prepared the ingredients she needed in advance. She knew the shop¡¯s busiest time was from noon to three pm, so as the only person working there, she had to make extra preparations.
Around twelve, she received a message telling her the new batch of books had arrived. Seeing how there were no customers, and the location was only a few minutes away, He Yu decided to lock up the shop and went to pick up the books.
The weather at noon was scathing, you could fry an egg on the pavement, and He Yu felt like she was in a sauna. She tried to stay in the shade of the trees, but as she walked back, the heat flushed her face red.
She was only gone for a little while, but there were already quite a few customers waiting outside the entrance. Seeing this, He Yu hurried forward, and she tried to bnce the books under one arm as she searched her pockets for the keys.
¡°Give it to me.¡±
An arm stretched out from behind her and took the books from her hand. As the other person grabbed the books, their slightly cold hand identally brushed against He Yu¡¯s flushed skin.
He Yu nced back.
It was Ye Xun.
He Yu thanked her and unlocked the door. The shop¡¯s air conditioning soothed her skin as she walked in.
¡°Should I put the books directly on the shelf or set them down for now?¡± Ye Xun asked.
¡°On the bookshelf, please. To the right of the second row.¡±
Before He Yu could do anything else, the customers behind her had already started ordering, so she hurried to the bar.
Ye Xun lifted the books onto the shelf and then sat at her usual table. She waited until the crowd lessened before walking up to order.
Before Ye Xun could say anything, He Yu said: ¡°ck coffee with no sugar, right?¡±
Ye Xun nodded.
¡°No afternoon ss today?¡± He Yu asked as she bent over to grab a bag of coffee beans under the counter, her light gray vest hugging her body¡¯s excellent outline tightly.
¡°There are no sses for the first week.¡± Ye Xun replied, tilting her head a bit. From this angle, Ye Xun had a clear view of the other¡¯s soft and dedicated expression as she makes the coffee.
¡°You could study the materials beforehand.¡±
¡°We¡¯ll see.¡±
He Yu smiled, her dimples appearing as she softly asked, ¡°What grade are you in?¡±
¡°University, year three.¡± Ye Xun looked at her with eyes half-closed.
¡°Year three is the most tiring one, and there will be an endless amount of coursework.¡± He Yu said and straightened her body when her eyes carelessly wandered over Ye Xun¡¯s corbone.
Ah, He Yu thought, so there was a mole there, a dark red one.
Chapter 3: Homemade lemonade
Chapter 3: Homemade lemonade
¡°Yeah,st year was easier.¡±
¡°Listen to your teacher during ss, and don¡¯t forget to ask questions. It will make the end of the term more bearable.¡± He Yu lectured as she lifted her eyes from Ye Xun¡¯s corbone.
¡°Ok.¡±
¡°Are you an engineering major?¡± He Yu had once seen her working with a drawing of some machine¡¯s frame on theputer. The nearby C University ced in the nation¡¯s top ten for mechanical engineering, so He Yu guessed that Ye Xun was probably studying that major.
¡°Yeah, mechanical engineering.¡±
¡°Wow, that¡¯s awesome.¡± He Yu said, ¡°Ok, please wait a bit. I¡¯ll start on your order after I deliver this to table three.¡±
¡°No rush.¡± Ye Xun replied as she watched He Yu walk away.
He Yu returned to the counter and was about to make the coffee when she nced at the ss pitcher full of lemonade that sat under the bar. He Yu personally preferred lemonade over coffee, especially when the weather was hot, so she always had a pitcher or two¡¯s worth of lemonade prepared beforehand. She had let this pitcher of lemonade sit for a while so that the ingredients could mix and settle. It should be ready now.
¡°Do you want to try a ss of lemonade?¡± He Yu lifted the pitcher of lemonade and removed the lid. A light, yet fragrant smell wafted into the air from the fermented lemonade. ¡°I made it myself.¡±
Ye Xun nodded: ¡°Sure. Thanks.¡±
Ye Xun was in her third year of university, so that meant she was around twenty years old, only about six to seven years younger than He Yu. However, her demeanor and speakingcked the passion that many others her age showed. Even when He Yu tried to converse with her multiple times, she only responded with a few words at most.
As the store became more crowded, He Yu quickly poured Ye Xun arge ss of lemonade and hurried off to tend to other customers.
With so many customers to serve, time flew by quickly. In a blink of an eye, it was already three.
He Yu took a break to catch her breath and looked up the weather forecast. The forecast earlier this morning had said it would be only 37-40¡ã C. It was currently around 43¡ã C (109.4 F). Not to mention, because this building wasn¡¯t near any shade, and the sun was notorious for being extra hot in Chongqing, it probably felt like it was closer to 50¡ã C. Anyone stuck outside during this weather would probably die.
Scrolling through WeChat, He Yu¡¯s family group chat was quite lively. Her sister-inw had just given birth to her second child in mid-June and had sent a picture of the cute little one-month-old in the group chat.
He Yu couldn¡¯t resistmenting:
He Yu: The baby looks cute.
Immediately a reply popped up.
Cousin: If you hurry up and get married, you can have a baby as well!!!!
A few more people joined in as well, telling her to find a partner. All of the rtives around her age, both men and women, had settled down, some with children already. She was the only one left, and although people marryingte is a moremon trend now; still very few took that route.
Not to mention, she was different.*
For people like her, forget marriage, finding someone was hard enough already.
During her university days, she had been in a few rtionships, but each one had failed. The reality was not like the stories, just finding someone doesn¡¯t mean she¡¯ll fall in love.
This world is full of unexpected elements, with so many different twists and turns¡¡
He Yu set her phone down and brushed a piece of hair behind her ear. She sat there wiping down the cups, silently.
She sighed and thought, how long has it been since I was in a rtionship?
Maybe around the time when she graduated from university? That rtionship ended in less than a month, and both parties never met again.
By that estimate, she has been single for about three to four years now.
Jiang Yun had often lectured her about it. Saying that she should enjoy her youth and live freely, doing whatever the hell she wanted to do. Otherwise, she would be like a nun in a convent, always restricting herself.
While the idea of ¡°doing whatever she wanted¡± sounded easy enough, it was hard to put it into practice. He Yu sighed again and threw those thoughts to the back of her mind, choosing to focus on work instead.
¡ª¡ª¡ª¡ª¡ª¡ª¡ª¡ª¡ª¡ª¡ª¡ª¡ª¡ª¡ª¡ª¡ª¡ª¡ª¡ª¡ª¡ª¡ª¡ª¡ª¡ª¡ª¡ª¡ª¡ª¡ª¡ª¡ª¡ª¡ª¡ª¡ª¡ª¡ª
Around ten o¡¯clock that evening, before she could even take her shoes off, He Yu received a call from Jiang Yun.
Jiang Yun asked He Yu for a favor. She wanted He Yu to let her cousin and the cousin¡¯s roommate stay at He Yu¡¯s ce tonight.
Jiang Yun¡¯s cousin went to C University and had missed the curfew because she was outte partying. C University¡¯s had a strict curfew policy, so if the cousin and her roommate returned to the dorms, they would be caught, and disciplinary actions would be taken.
He Yu thought about it and agreed to the favor. She climbed downstairs to greet the troublemakers at the gate. The entrance was dimly lit, but she could make out two shadows, one tall and one short. When they came closer, He Yu was surprised. She recognized the tall one. It was Ye Xun. She never thought that Ye Xun would be the cousin¡¯s roommate and stared as they approached.
And Ye Xun, her face half-covered by the shadows, stared back at He Yu.
Chapter 4: Tenderness in the middle of the night
Chapter 4: Tenderness in the middle of the night
It waste at night.
He Yu couldn¡¯t sleep, the more she wanted to, the less tired she felt.
She tossed and turned, but sleep still eluded her. Then she heard a knock on her door. At first, He Yu thought she was hallucinating because it was the middle of the night, but then a second knock sounded, and she lifted herself from the bed.
She grabbed whatever she could find and put it on. It was a simple shirt, but it was long andrge enough that it reached just above her pale thighs.
Due to her half-clothed state, she didn¡¯t turn on the lights and answered the door. She opened the door wide enough that only half of her body could be seen.
¡°What¡¯s the matter?¡± She whispered.
¡°Can¡¯t sleep. Ah-Ning snores too loudly and talks in her sleep. Mind if I stay here instead?¡± asked Ye Xun, her head slightly bowed.
Since she was in a hurry, He Yu hadn¡¯t put her shirt on properly. The buttons were all mismatched, and the neckline was loosened wide, and although there were no lights on, the moonlight was very bright. So when Ye Xun lowered her eyes, she could see everything.
Ye Xun looked away, turned her head slightly to the side, and the tips of her ears were turning red.
He Yu hesitated for a while and then nodded her head: ¡°Ok, but wait outside a bit.¡±
¡°Ok.¡± Ye Xun replied.
He Yu closed the door gently and quickly threw on some outer clothing, tugging on a pair of shorts. Then she dug around for some extra nkets, shook the dust off, and finally let Ye Xune in.
But she still refused to turn the lights on.
She felt feverish and hot, her head was spinning as her thoughts jumbled together. She knew she shouldn¡¯t have opened the door, let alone agree to the proposal, but she did it anyway.
It¡¯s probably because of theck of sleep, she thought.
¡°Sleep.¡± said He Yu as she grabbed a nket andid down in the bed. She turned to her side, her back facing Ye Xun, and left as much space as possible between them.
Ye Xun didn¡¯t say a word as sheid down next to He Yu.
Too tired to care anymore, exhaustion washed over her, and He Yu closed her eyes.
_______________________________________________________________
He Yu woke up 5 minutes before 7:30. Her daily lifestyle had ingrained it into her so that she no longer needed an rm clock to wake up. She jolted when she felt a pair of hands wrapped around her waist. Her eyes shifted from her waist to nce at the person beside her.
Ye Xun was still fast asleep and breathing softly, her chest rising up and down.
He Yu heaved a sigh of relief and slowly lifted the hands off her waist. She got out of bed and opened her closet in search of an outfit. She first put on a pair of undergarments, and after changing into the outfit she picked, she tiptoed out of the room.
Meanwhile, the still fast asleep Ye Xun suddenly opened her eyes. There was not a hint of drowsiness in her eyes. She rolled over onto her back, looked up at the ceiling, and thought about what had just happened.
She clenched and unclenched her hands, as though she could still feel that soft and silky waist, the feeling lingering on her palms. Remembering the body that was next to her, the skin so tender and smooth, made her heart skip a beat.
_______________________________________________________________
Since there were two extra people to feed, He Yu skipped her morning job to cook breakfast instead. When she finished, she called the two children to get up and eat.
She was no longer confused or feverish this morning and watched impassively as the two students ate. He Yu barely spoke, hoping that they would finish eating and leave quickly.
The cousin seemed like she was in a hurry and ate quickly. She then thanked He Yu for her hospitality and rushed out the door, dragging Ye Xun with her. The door closed, and He Yu let out a sigh of relief she didn¡¯t know she was holding.
Chapter 5: Drunkenness
Chapter 5: Drunkenness
During the next two days, probably because sses had started, Ye Xun did note to the store.
He Yu had closed the shop early at six o¡¯clock and went home to change into a fancier outfit. Tonight was when He Yu agreed to eat hot pot with Jiang Yun and a few others at Guan Yin Qiao.
She changed into a white suspender skirt, one thatplimented her figure and had an stic band within the dress that perfectly entuates her delicate waist.
Jiang Yun currently worked for a local privatepany and was recently promoted, so it was normal for her to be working overtime on the weekends. Jiang Yun originally agreed to pick her up around eight, but when it was 7:30, she sent a message of apology to He Yu. Jiang Yun was unable to leave work early, so she had sent someone else to pick up He Yu.
¡°The license te number is BXXXXX, and it¡¯s a ck Land Rover. Just meet them downstairs, and they¡¯ll drive you to the restaurant. Go ahead and order without me, I¡¯ll try to get there as soon as I can.¡± Jiang Yun exined over the phone.
He Yu understood that Jiang Yun was busy, so she whispered a few words of encouragement and hung up.
She walked out of her building in heels, and stood at the gated entrance, waiting for her ride. The sun was setting, and the night wind blew gently through the air, cooling down the summer heat.
After a while, a ck Land Rover could be seen on the horizon. The car stopped outside the gate, and He Yu stepped forward, but when she saw the driver, she froze.
Ye Xun sat in the driver¡¯s seat, wearing a ck t-shirt and overalls. However, today she wore her hair up, with a red and ck striped hairband on her forehead, and pieces of hair hanging out on both sides.
Ye Xun tilted her head and looked at He Yu, leaned forward, and opened the passenger side¡¯s door with one hand: ¡°Get in.¡±
He Yu shook herself from a daze, bent forward, lifted her legs, sat down, and whispered: ¡°Thanks.¡±
I didn¡¯t expect it to be her.
Ye Xun hummed in response but didn¡¯t say anything else.
He Yu lifted her hand and brushed her hair while turning away to look outside. There were many pedestrians on the streets today, and the neon lights of the stores made the atmosphere outside seem bright and lively. Suddenly, Ye Xun reached over and fastened He Yu¡¯s seatbelt, her hand identally touching He Yu¡¯s thigh. He Yu tensed a bit at the touch, almost jumping in her seat.
Ye Xun didn¡¯t seem to notice and retracted her hand after the seatbelt was secured. She grabbed the wheel and started driving to the restaurant. The car was silent; no one spoke during the drive.
When they finally arrived at the hot pot restaurant, the little cousin from before was waiting for them at the door. Inside the restaurant, He Yu recognized a few people, and some of them greeted her. There were a few friends, and when everyone saw He Yu they greeted each other.
He Yu smiled back softly, and woman in yellow called out to her, pointing at the seat beside her.
The seat was at a round table, and if He Yu sat there, the table would be full.
When Ye Xun saw this, her face turned dark and sullen.
But before He Yu could move, the little cousin said to the woman in yellow: ¡°Sister Chen, I want to sit with you! I haven¡¯t seen you for so long. I miss you ~.¡±
The girl¡¯s ttering and sweet words made everyone at the tableugh. Someone even teased her: ¡°You miss your sister Chen, but what about the rest of us? Did you forget about us?¡±
The cousin grinned and said, ¡°Of course I didn¡¯t forget about you guys. I miss all of you so much!¡± She walked over and sat next to the woman in yellow.
Since the little cousin took her seat, He Yu sat at another table, and Ye Xun sat down next to her.
By the time Jiang Yun had arrived, it was about an hourter, and the food was almost all finished. Jiang Yun apologized profusely and paid the bill, and even invited everyone out to karaoke.
The little cousin and Ye Xun didn¡¯t have any sses tomorrow morning, so they agreed toe along as well.
_______________________________________________________________
Inside the KTV room, the dim lights flickered as few people sang their hearts out. He Yu was quiet and gentle by nature, so she didn¡¯t handle these events very well. She sat silently in the corner, sipping her drink.
Jiang Yun sat with her for a bit, drinking arge bottle of wine with her.
By the time half of the bottle was gone, the alcohol was already showing its effects. He Yu knew her limit and stopped herself from drinking any more. However, Jiang Yun had a higher level of tolerance and wanted to drink more, so she left He Yu to seek out other people willing to drink with her.
The woman in yellow nced at the drunk and now alone He Yu and was about to sit down when Ye Xun beat her to it, stealing the spot next to He Yu.
The woman got the message, lifted her drink towards Ye Xun, and gulped down the ss in one shot.
Ye Xun ignored the woman.
He Yu felt lightheaded and dizzy, so she leaned against the couch with her eyes closed. When she felt somebody sit next to her, she wearily opened her eyes.
¡°Ufortable?¡± Ye Xun asked, whispering in her ear, ¡°Do you want me to drive you home?¡±
Ye Xun¡¯s body was very close to hers, almost touching, but there was still a distance between them. He Yu¡¯s eyelids trembled. Just now, when Ye Xun spoke, her warm breath caressed her neck, making her feel hot. He Yu shook her head and murmured, ¡°I¡¯m fine¡¡±
Then sheid her head back down to rest.
Suddenly, she felt something grab her waist, pulling her. Then a pair of hands rubbed gently against her temples.
Instantly she felt a lot better.
He Yu had no strength left in her and was toozy to move. Instead, she enjoyed the massage and leaned deeper into Ye Xun¡¯s arms.
Around half-past two, everyone slowly left the karaoke ce. The cousin went with Jiang Yun, and Ye Xun was responsible for driving He Yu home.
_______________________________________________________________
He Yu¡¯s building, underground garage.
In the backseat of the Land Rover, the atmosphere was heating up.
Maybe it was because of the alcohol, or the confusion from staying up sote. Either way, He Yu had no idea how she ended up in this situation.
She was straddling Ye Xun¡¯sp, their bodies hugging as they kissed each other deeply.
The night time was when desires were at their peak; a small spark can turn it into a raging me.
However, He Yu still had a bit of reason left in her as she stopped Ye Xun¡¯s hand from wandering down.
Ye Xun¡¯s lips broke away from hers. Ye Xun wrapped her hands around that slender waist, and nted kisses on He Yu¡¯s throat, whispering, ¡°We won¡¯t go all the way¡¡±
Those words sent an electric shock up her spine and finding the excuse she needed, and He Yu let herself go.
_______________________________________________________________
Early the next morning, it was raining, and it cooled down the summer heat.
The indoor temperature was 21C; one could sleepfortably until noon.
At eleven o¡¯clock, He Xun woke up and sat up.
Although she drankst night, she still remembered everything. Her face turned red; the remaining feelings of lust remind her how crazy she was to do this.
Her body felt sore, and she couldn¡¯t lift her arms at all.
Even if they didn¡¯t go all the way.
She was stunned for a long time before putting on her clothes and getting out of bed. The hangover caused her to wake up with a headache, so she poured herself a ss of cold water.
She thought aboutst night, remembering Ye Xun¡¯s awkward movements. She could tell Ye Xun was not very experienced, and she had to teach her most of it.
Afterward, she felt so weak that Ye Xun carried her home. Then they took a shower together, and she almost couldn¡¯t stop herself.
Ye Xun had left early. She had sses in the afternoon.
Which is good, He Yu thought, it makes it less awkward if I don¡¯t have to see her.
The smell of food came from the kitchen; it was from the pot of porridge on the stove.
He Yu felt hungry, so she grabbed herself a bowl after she showered. Then she quickly cleaned up everything and grabbed her bag. Today she was supposed to visit her family, and she wanted to arrive before lunch.
As she changed into her shoes at the entrance, she incidentally looked up and found a light green sticky note on the door. She took it off, and it said-
¡°You were beautifulst night.¡±
Chapter 6: Picking up the keys
Chapter 6: Picking up the keys
The tips of He Yu¡¯s ears turned red, and she huffed in rage. She wanted to crumple up the note and throw it away, but she put in the end, she put it securely in her bag.
He Yu¡¯s family lived about 10 minutes away from the store, so she decided to walk there from her apartment. When she arrived, her mother was making food in the kitchen, and her brother was still at work. Her sister-inw greeted her at the front door with a baby in her arms.
¡°Sister-inw.¡±
The baby heard her voice and grinned, reaching out his arms towards her. He Yu set her bags down and lifted the baby.
¡°Mother is going to lecture you. You bought too many gifts again, it¡¯s just a house visit.¡±, her sister-inw said yfully, ¡°Mom¡¯s been in the kitchen all morning, since she heard you wereing, cooking up all kinds of food. Talk to herter.¡±
¡°En.¡± He Yu replied, ¡°I know.¡±
For the past few years, He Yu rarely visited home. She and Mother He didn¡¯t agree on a lot of things, the mother and daughter pair could barely say more than three words to each other. He Yu disliked having to argue with her mother every day, so she had moved out to live on her own. Now, she only went home about 1-2 times a month.
However, despite the distance, nothing has changed between the two.
Before Mother He married to Father He, she came from a wealthy household and was brought up on more traditional education. Although she could be gentle or kind, Mother He was rather stubborn about traditions and rules.
After Father He left, she never remarried and had single-handedly raised her children. When they were kids, she never had to worry about them, and they never disobeyed her. Later, her son had be a prosperous young man with a good wife and a child, but it was her daughter that gave her headaches. Her daughter¡¯s preferencespletely shed against Mother He¡¯s traditional values; this was uneptable to her.
Mother He thought it might¡¯ve been a phase and that He Yu would eventually return to normal, but every time she saw He Yu, she would just get more frustrated.
¡°You should stay for dinner. Your brother has been busy recently and hasn¡¯t seen you in a while.¡± Sister-inw said.
He Yu patted the baby¡¯s back, and paused, ¡°We¡¯ll see¡.¡±
Her sister-inw couldn¡¯t say anything more to persuade her and walked away to go clean up the baby¡¯s things.
He Yu sat on the sofa and put the baby in herp, and teased, ¡°Cutie, have you missed your aunt?¡±
The baby giggled at He Yu, and drool started dripping from the corners of his mouth.
He Yu reached for the tissues on the table and then looked up to see her mother at the kitchen door, staring at her.
¡°Mom,¡± said He Yu.
Mother He nodded her head mutely.
The sister-inw came back and noticed the awkward silence before helping the pair serve the meal. The three of them sat there silently before halfway through, the baby started crying, and sister-inw lifted him.
¡°He should be hungry; I¡¯ll go ahead and feed him in my room. You two should eat without me.¡± Sister-inw then hurried away, carrying the baby back to a room and allowing the pair to talk, alone.
Mother He picked up her chopsticks and reached for a bowl, nced at He Zhe, and asked, ¡°Still the same?¡±
¡°Can¡¯t change it,¡± replied He Yu, staring down her te and quietly chewing her food.
Mother He¡¯s face hardened.
¡°Don¡¯t leave until dinner is over, your brother hasn¡¯t seen you in a while.¡±
¡°Ok.¡±
_______________________________________________________________
By the time she left, it was well past midnight, and her brother drove her to the gate of her building.
¡°Don¡¯t worry too much about what Mom said.¡±
He Yu nodded her head, ¡°I won¡¯t.¡±
¡°Try ande home often, for although she doesn¡¯t show it, she misses you. The words she says may sound harsh, but she¡¯s just concerned for you, her heart is softer than you think.¡±
¡°I know.¡±
¡°Ok then, it¡¯ste, you should go home,¡± her brother said.
He Yu grabbed her bag and stepped out, ¡° Drive safely.¡±
¡°Yeah.¡±
He Yu swiped her keycard, walked through the gate, and into the shadows. She stepped into the elevator, exhaled, and pressed the button for the fifteenth floor.
This time at night, most of the lights were turned off. Only the hallways were still brightly illuminated. He Yu absentmindedly rubbed her keys as she stepped out of the elevator, and her eyes widened as she saw Ye Xun sitting in front of her door.
Hearing the footsteps, Ye Xun¡¯s head snapped up to look at her.
¡°When did you arrive?¡± asked He yu as she extended a hand to help Ye Xun off the floor.
¡°Not long.¡±
¡°Call me next time.¡±
From the looks of it, she has been here for a long time. He Yu thought.
Ye Xun hummed in agreement.
He Yu invited her in and poured her a ss of water.
After theirst encounter, He Yu still felt a bit embarrassed. She checked her phone and found that Ye Xun had messaged her through WeChat at around 9 pm, but she hadn¡¯t noticed because she didn¡¯t check until now.
Moreover, Ye Xun didn¡¯t have her number so that she couldn¡¯t have called her.
¡°You came here because¡.¡±
¡°I forgot my keys here.¡± Ye Xun replied, ¡°I had wanted toe earlier, but the sses ran longer than usual, so I could onlye at night.
¡°Did you eat yet?¡± It was long past the curfew, so Ye Xun would have to stay the night.
¡°I did.¡±
¡°Then I¡¯ll help you look for the keys. Today I was in a rush, so nothing has been cleaned up yet. Do you remember where you left it?¡±
¡°They should be on the nightstand.¡±
¡°Ok, I¡¯ll go grab them.¡± He Yu offered. She was very alert right now, and her exhaustionpletely wiped away. After getting the keys, she¡¯ll set up the guest bedroom for Ye Xun to use. Afterst night¡¯s endeavor¡He Yu couldn¡¯t help but panic a bit.
She entered her bedroom and flipped on the lights, her eyesnding on the keys resting on her nightstand.
She walked over and stooped to pick them up and was suddenly embraced from behind.
A scorching breathnded on her tender neck, slightly hurried, and made her heart tremble.
He Yu struggled slightly but was unable to break free.
Ye Xun rested her chin on He Yu¡¯s shoulder and hummed, ¡°I miss you today ¡¡±
He Yu didn¡¯t know what to say in response.
The force on her waist tightened a little, and she felt something wet and soft, brushing the back of her neck. Like a feather, it tickled but tenderly trailed her skin.
¡°I¡¯ve been thinking about you all day. During ss, when I¡¯m eating¡¡±Ye Xun nted one kiss after another onto her neck, then moved from her neck to her sensitive earlobe, then slowly turned her around and pushed her to lean against the wall.
The small lights in the room were a little dark and dim.
¡°I want you so, so much¡¡±
Her breathing becamebored, and the feeling of warmth moved down her throat, all the way to her core. He Yu¡¯s chest was beating furiously against her chest as if it wanted to jump out.
It was unclear as two who initiated it, but soon the two were deeply kissing one another. He Yu was much shorter, having to stand on the tips of her toes, her arms looped around Yeh Xun¡¯s neck as Ye Xun leaned down to meet her.
The warm and moist feeling passed from the tip of the tongue to the body, lingering and gentle, a desperate sense of wanting to know everything about the other.

Today, Jiang Yun was finally free to spend time with He Yu, so she came to visit her at the shop.
The two chatted, Jiang Yun was the one talking while He Yu listened, and when Jiang Yun was almost done with her monologue, He Yu asked, ¡°Are you familiar with Ye Xun?¡±
¡°Ye Xun?¡± Jiang Yun was surprised. ¡°I know she is close to my cousin Ah-Ning, but other than that, I don¡¯t know her very well. Why?¡±
He Yu¡¯s ears turned red, ¡°No reason. Just asking.¡±
¡°Oh,¡± Jiang Yun said, ¡°Well, I know she¡¯s from Beijing, a rich second-generation type. I think that the family deals with real estate. The specifics are not clear. She¡¯s smart too, and I heard she participated in some nationalpetitions and won a few.¡±
¡°Uh-huh.¡± He Yu said in a daze; she was just an ordinary person, the difference between the two of them was huge.
¡°By the way, do you remember when I participated in that auto show on behalf of ourpanyst year?¡± Jiang Yun recalled, ¡°I also met her there, she was a racer, representing Dongfeng or whicheverpany participated in the race at the time, she was pretty good. ¡°
¡°That¡¯s amazing.¡±
¡°Right? If our Ah-Ning interacts with her and learns a bit, she would be able to pass her sses at least.¡± Jiang Yunughed, then thought of something and asked her, ¡°I say, you have been single for so long, are you nning on finding anyone yet?¡±
He Yu shook her head, ¡°No need to hurry. I still got time.¡±
Jiang Yun squinted at her, raising her eyebrows: ¡°You are picky; you will be thirty in three or four years, then it will be even harder to find someone.¡±
He Ye didn¡¯t answer and continued to wipe down the coffee container.
¡°Is it because of your mother?¡±
¡°No,¡± He Yu replied, sighing, ¡°I just haven¡¯t met the right one.¡±
¡°If you¡¯re not looking for one, how do you know that you can¡¯t meet the right one? Find one as soon as possible; it¡¯s better than living alone.¡±
He Yu didn¡¯t answer, but asked, ¡°How about you?¡±
Jiang Yun was speechless for a moment. She moved her lips and was silent for a long while. Then she squeezed out in a low voice: ¡°I¡¯m going out for a smoke.¡±
He Yu waited for her toe back, then gave her a ss of iced lemonade. ¡°Angry?¡±
Jiang Yun said, ¡°Maybe?¡± She drank half a ss in one breath, and said, ¡°She wanted to get back together two days ago ¡¡±
He Yu froze and quickly recovered, her head not even lifting, she asked, asking, ¡°What do you think?¡±
¡°Impossible, I cannot tolerate sand in my eyes.¡±*
The ¡°she¡± they were talking about was Jiang Yun¡¯s ex-girlfriend. The two were high school sweethearts and dated through college as well, an ideal rtionship. However, the other side was caught cheating, and Jiang Yun caught off their rtionship cleanly.
¡°Good.¡±
Jiang Yun took a look at the time, grabbed her bag and got up: ¡°Are you free on Sunday? Dayang Department just opened a new store at the mall, and since I¡¯m on vacation, I want to go and take a look.¡±
¡°Ok, I haven¡¯t gone shopping for clothes for a long time.¡± He Yu replied.
¡°Great, can I bring Ah-Ning along? I need to get her some new outfits as well.¡±
¡°That¡¯s fine.¡±

Sunday.
He Yu waited for Jiang Yun at the gate, and the little cousin arrived a few minuteste with Ye Xun, unexpectedly, following from behind.
Jiang Yun politely greeted the two of them, the little cousin responded with an energetic shout, and imed the passenger seat, letting the other two sit behind.
They had already done it, and although she was no longer as embarrassed, He Yu didn¡¯t want to reveal anything to Jiang Yun. She leaned as far away as she could and stared out of the window.
Ye Xun naturally approached her, their legs touching each other. He Yu could not retreat, she was blocked, and she nced at Ye Xun. Ye Xun then grabbed her hand.
Jiang Yun was concentrating on driving, not paying attention to them.
Her hands were very soft, and Ye Xun, feeling mischievous, started ying with He Yu¡¯s hands, pinching her palms and fingers. He Yu couldn¡¯t win against her, so she chose to look away through the window.
Dayang Department store was not too far away, about half an hour¡¯s drive. As soon as they entered the mall, they went straight to the new store. He Yu first helped the little cousin choose clothes, and then she picked a light blue linen dress to try on.
Ye Xun had nothing to buy, so she helped them carry their bags, and waited on a leather sofa outside the dressing room area.
He Yu was the first toe out, the cor on her dress was turned outward, and Ye Xun helped her smooth it out.
And this scene happened to be seen by Mother He and sister-inw, who was passing by the store.
But He Yu didn¡¯t see her mother and sister-inw, she took the dress to the front desk to pay, and when she came back, she saw her mother talking to Ye Xun. She was too far away and couldn¡¯t hear what she said, by the time she walked up to them, Mother He abruptly turned around and left, obviously having no intention to talk to her.
Chapter 7: Ending?
Chapter 7: Ending?
He Yu clenched her hands into fists, to Ye Xun¡¯s side, and asked softly, ¡°What were you talking about with her?¡±
¡°Nothing much, just a few random words. They asked me where I was from.¡± Ye Xun replied, ¡°Maybe because, at first nce, I don¡¯t look like the typical Chongqing inhabitant.¡±
He Yu smiled.
Behind her, Jiang Yu called out to He Yu and asked her what she thought about the clothing she was holding. He Yu didn¡¯t ask anything more and walked away.
After a few people finished their shopping, it was already noon. Jiang Yu invited them to eat out at a restaurant on the fourth floor.
During the meal, Jiang Yu received messages on her phone from herpany. Even on her vacation, thepany wouldn¡¯t give her a break. The product department sent her over a dozen messages, asking her to return to work early the next morning to take a look at a problematic product. It was quite a headache and looked like she would be busy all next week again.
And she was right. When Wednesday arrived, it was He Yu¡¯s birthday, but she could only send her a few text messages, wishing her a happy birthday.
That day, He Yu also received a call from her brother and returned home to celebrate her birthday.
After the dinner and cake, Mother He walked He Yu out the door.
The pair of mother and daughter were silent the entire time, and when she was out the door, He Yu could not help but whisper, ¡°Thanks, Mom.¡±
Mother He maintained a nk expression, thinking about what to say and nced at her: ¡°Next time¡bring your girlfriend with you.¡±
She was still somewhat unable to ept this, and there was hesitation between her words, but for her to be able to say this was already hard enough for her. It showed she had thought about this a lot and had to ovee a few mental struggles of her own.
He Yu understood who Mother He was talking about; however, she didn¡¯t acknowledge anything, but nodded: ¡°Ok.¡±
¡°I don¡¯t know what you¡¯re thinking, choosing someone so young. She looks like a troublemaker too.¡± Mother He voiced her dissatisfaction as she called for a taxi. Then without saying another word, Mother He turned around and headed back inside.
He Yu watched her leave, with mixed feelings in her heart.
She had received Jiang Yun¡¯s messages and the messages from her other friends as well. During the car ride back, she responded to each message.
However, she hadn¡¯t received anything from a certain someone.
She opened the chat and sent a message to the other party: What are you doing?
The other party quickly responded: Waiting for you.
He Yu stepped inside the elevator and pressed the button for the 15th floor. When she saw those three words, her heart pounded. She realized something but was afraid to confirm it. She didn¡¯t reply, and stared at the changing numbers, rapidly rising from 1 to 15.
Ding-
The elevator¡¯s doors opened.
Suddenly, she felt her eyes water-Ye Xun standing in front of the door with a bouquet.
¡°Happy Birthday.¡± She handed the flowers to He Yu.
¡°Thank you.¡±
Then they both went silent. As soon as she entered the door, Ye Xun swept her into her arms, kissed her hair, kissed her forehead, kissed her nose, and then touched those pink lips. Every action was affectionate and gentle.
In response, He Yu grabbed her shoulder, threw the flowers onto the sofa, threw off her high heels, and hugged Ye Xun¡¯s waist.

After tossing around all night, He Yu opened up Ye Xun¡¯s gift for her-an an all-white box-inside was a ring, not the wedding kind, but a ring nheless.
Ye Xun kissed her neck and said: ¡°I had it made over summer vacation, I asked a trusted contact to make it, do you like it?¡±
The voice was a little hoarse, tickling her heart.

The apartment opposite of hers, 1503, which had been empty, finally had a new upant move in.
He Yu, who had been home these past few days, didn¡¯t know until they came knocking on her door.
¡°Hello, my girlfriend.¡±

Chapter 8: Delicate roses
Chapter 8: Delicate roses
At the end of October, the temperature finally dropped. Compared with the months before, the weather was much more rxed. Additionally, because midterms had started, the business in the shop was slow and depressing.
The shop¡¯s quiet atmosphere was liked by some students whoe here to read and study, order a drink, and stay for an entire afternoon. He Yu recently started researching how to bake, and because she couldn¡¯t finish eating all her creations, she would bring cookies and small cakes to the shop every day for those struggling student customers.
After a few times, the amount of returning customers increased.
For the past two days, Ye Xun was busy working on finishing ab project. She spent all day in theboratory and rarely came to the store. He Yu would visit her at school after work or sit in apartment 1503 at night.
The two were now in the early days of love, a time when they try to understand each other more.
Younger girls tend to be more inexperienced when ites to dating, and although they were eager and energetic, they still needed to be taught a few things.
Ye Xun was a quick learner, exceptionally quick at picking up the more practical skills. He Yu also spent more time with her, staying at her ce, about two to three times a week now.
The intense feelings were like the slowly flowing water. As time passed, it gradually umted, drowning her up to her neck. She closed her lips andy on the slightly cool wall, unable to stop her fingers from clenching.
After a while, Ye Xun embraced her and lifted her into her room.
The overall decoration of the room is dark, simple, and clean. The red rosesy on theputer table, sent by herst night.
Ye Xun kissed her tenderly on the lips, cheeks, chin, and then down to her slender neck¡
Usually, Ye Xun was indifferent and not one for words, and is even quieter in bed. However, He Yu preferred the silence during times like this. It made the atmosphere seem more romantic.
After going at it for the entire night, she didn¡¯t wake until around 10 in the morning.
He Yu propped herself up and stared in a daze.
Ye Xun was still asleep, and since there was no ss this morning, she¡¯ll let her rest a little longer.
He Yu picked up a pair of underwear and put on a short t-shirt. She brushed away some hair covering her face and went into the bathroom to clean up.
By the time she came out, Ye Xun was already up. When she saw He Yu¡¯s bare legs, she leaned back, her eyes roamed over them quietly, but she didn¡¯t move, she just looked at the other person.
He Yu ignored her deliberately, found a pair of pants, and put them on.
¡°Any sses tonight?¡± She asked.
¡°No,¡± Ye Xun replied, and sat up, suddenly embracing her from behind, chin resting on her neck, ¡°Would you like to eat together?¡±
Because of the shop¡¯s hours, He Yu usually went out to find something simple to eat, but sometimes Ye Xun would deliver a meal, and they¡¯ll eat together.
¡°Done with your project yet?¡±
¡°Almost.¡± Ye Xun whispered and kissed her earlobe.
He Yu¡¯s ears were her sensitive spots. She subconsciously tilted her head and stopped the hands at her waist: ¡°Go and wash up, eat lunch first, rest a bit, and then go to ss.¡±
She paused, ¡°There¡¯s a new Japanese restaurant that just opened down the street. Do you want to eat there tonight?¡±
Ye Xun hummed in agreement, then holding her face, tilted it to the side to shower it in kisses. Finally, she had He Yu turn around and bent over to kiss her lips, sucking on them for a long time before she was content.
Ye Xun wanted to move in with He Yu.
Considering she was still studying, and might go overseas for her postgraduate studies, moving in might end up interfering with those ns. Therefore, He Yu hadn¡¯t agreed to it yet.
In the afternoon, there were fewer customers and scattered all over the ce. Almost all of them were either reading books or discussing topics in a low voice.

Chapter 9: Jealous
Chapter 9: Jealous
He Yu was setting up the autumn-themed products, cing some of the cranberry biscuits and treats she bakest night into a bamboo basket. When a customer ordered a drink, two pieces would be given out, free of charge.
Later, closer to evening, the weather suddenly turned gloomy, the winds blew like crazy, and it became gray outside as if announcing a heavy rain was about to start.
Ye Xun had not arrived yet. He Yu narrowed her eyes as she looked up at the gray sky. She remembered that Ye Xun didn¡¯t bring an umbre with her. If it rained, she would have to pick her up.
It was a little past 5:20, meaning there were less than ten minutes left of ss.
After hesitating for a long time, she asked a student she was familiar with to look after the shop for a while, then took the umbre out, and within a few minutes, dark clouds covered the sky, and the raindrops sprinkled onto the ground.
She sent a message to Ye Xun as she walked, asking Ye Xun to wait at the gate of the building.
The campus was ratherrge, and since sses had just finished, it was crowded, and the intensity of the rain continued to increase. The raindropsnded onto the umbre and sshed onto the ground, some sshing onto her legs as well. By the time she reached the building, her back was drenched in water.
Ye Xun stood in the hallway, waiting when she saw He Yuing, and frowned. She walked forward to receive the umbre.
The door swung back and forth on the hinges, the wind mming into He Yu that she couldn¡¯t help shrinking and shivering a bit. Her back felt sticky and ufortable, so she shifted her clothes, trying to fix them.
Ye Xun embraced her shoulder.
¡°Don¡¯t let yourself get wet.¡± she took a half-step towards the door and looked at the weather outside. ¡°Stand here for a while, and wait for the rain to subside a bit before we go.¡±
She finished speaking, Ye Xun took her away from the doors and pulled her into her arms, pressing her close.
The closeness between the two of them made several students nce at them as they walked by. Ye Xun let go after they were safely behind the doors, away from the cold.
¡°Is it cold?¡± She asked softly.
He Yu shook her head.
Because of the sudden heavy rain, many people were trapped inside the hall. Ye Xun moved behind He Yu, and helped cover her wet back with a half-hugging posture. This move of her attracted a lot of attention, but Ye Xun acted utterly unaware, and stood indifferently, only when He Zuo looked at her did her eyes soften.
About five or six minutester, the rain was getting lighter. He Yu looked up at the sky and saw the clouds were slowly receding.
¡°Let¡¯s go back to the shop first.¡±
Ye Xun nodded and held the umbre open, still walking a half step behind to help cover her back.
Because sometimes drinks could be spilled and stained her clothing, He Yu always had two sets of clothes in the back room, so she changed into a fresh pair of dry clothes.
The student who helped watch the shop was d that she was back. When she saw the rain outside, she asked two sentences about He Yu, asking her if she was okay. He Xie whispered in a soft voice, gave the other a cup of hot drinks and cookies, and started a conversation as she worked.
The student chatted with her and smiled as they sipped their drinks.
Ye Xun stood to the side, silent, but when she heard He Yuughing at something the other party said, she raised her eyes, and her mouth formed into a thin line. She still said nothing.
The atmosphere wasn¡¯t quite right, but the ssmate didn¡¯t seem to notice the mood changing.
He Yu gently told the student that she was busy. The student understood and would not bother the other, so they began ying with a mobile phone for the time being.
Ye Xun stayed silent and walked over to stand behind the bar.
¡°Do me a favor and grab the contents inside the left-hand drawer, please.¡± He Yu said, making another drink.
Ye Xun didn¡¯t say anything, but still did what He Yu said¨Cinside the drawer was a small piece of tiramisu with exquisite packaging, and it seemed to be reserved for her.
¡°Try tasting it,¡± said He Yu pushing a drink in front of her, ¡°and this new autumn product, I want you to try them and tell me how it tastes.¡±
Ye Xun stood still, looking down at the tiramisu.
Chapter 10: Blue Roses
Chapter 10: Blue Roses
The gentle sister with a good appearance and figure was very popr with young people. Since the opening of the shop, many young people have confessed to He Yu. Sometimes there would even be two people who came to confess per week. The students, full of vitality and energy, made He Yu feel troubled.
For a shop to make money, it cannot afford to offend customers, and so she could only handle each confession in a roundabout and peaceful way. Some people who were thin-skinned stopped after one try, while others grew more frustrated and courageous after each rejection.
Chasing people also tested the person¡¯s emotional intelligence, how well a person can understand the other¡¯s preferences. He Yu always preferred to be low-key, so she liked those ordinary and quiet confessionspared to those high-profile gifts and crazy affections.
Last Saturday, a boy came to the store with arge bouquet of purple tulips. He Yu told the other party that she was in a rtionship, but he didn¡¯t her because Ye Xun was not there, and thought it was just an excuse. He happened toe again twice after that, and coincidentally, Ye Xun was there for those two times.
On the surface, Ye Xun seemed not to react, but her eyes would go dull for a moment, and her body would exude an aura of pressure. Although she didn¡¯t say or do anything, she cared.
He Yu felt helpless. The boy was still persistent. She repeatedly refused, but it didn¡¯t work, and the customers just watched. Ye Xun¡¯s method of solving the problem was rtively simple and straightforward, walking past the boy, and ordered at the bar. She would not give the boy a single chance to talk to He Yu, and finally, the boy became frustrated and left.
Later, Ye Xun would corner her in the restroom and kiss her fiercely, but when walking home, she would say nothing. He Yu thought she was angry, but Ye Xun never expressed it.
In short, it made her feel awkward.
Whenever Ye Xun seemed to feel jealous, He Yu tried to calm her down and soothe her feelings. Like making this cake just for her. Or else, it would be another awkward night.
She opened the cake¡¯s packaging and felt that this situation was a little funny, and could not help the corners of her mouth from rising.
Ye Xun nced at her, her expression moving ever so slightly, picked up the Tiramisu and ate it quietly, then sipped her drink, and whispered, ¡°It¡¯s ok.¡±
He Yu smiled and went back to work.
At nine, the two went to the newly opened Japanese restaurant and returned home at nearly ten-thirty.
He Yu grabbed her and kissed her lips, then let go: ¡°Go to bed early ande over for breakfast tomorrow morning.¡±
Ye Xun hooked her hands around He Yu¡¯s waist and said, ¡°Ok.¡±
Ye Xun¡¯s strength didn¡¯t loosen, and she wasn¡¯t letting He Yu leave.
He Xun didn¡¯t rush her and hugged her back while Ye Xun leaned forward and kissed her cheek, before letting her go in.
In the middle of the night, a light rain drizzle, but He Yu slept all night peacefully, and by the next day, the sky was blue and clear.
Ye Xun did not have any sses today, so He Yu got up at eight to make breakfast. Just after she was done, she was about to wake Ye Xun and call her over when the doorbell rang.
She took off her apron and opened the door. A bouquet of blue roses appeared before her, and she froze. Before she could do anything, the Ye Xun grabbed her with one hand and led her inside.
Because she lived alone, He Yu had only worn a loose blouse, which was convenient for the other party.
¡°Morning.¡± Ye Xun kissed her chin, lips, and went down to explore the valley between He Yu¡¯s breasts.
He Yu could not help but inhale a sharp breath and stuttered as she said: ¡°How early¡ when did you¡ when¡?¡±
¡°Not too long ago.¡± Ye Xun pressed her against the wall and lifted her blouse. He Yu raised her hands to Ye Xun¡¯s shoulders, stepped in a little, and leaned towards her involuntarily.

He Yu curled her legs and clutched at the sheets below her¡
Chapter 11: Party
Chapter 11: Party
After three rounds of back and forth, the sun had risen, the light shining through the slits of the curtains.
He Yu sat half-kneeling on Ye Xun¡¯s legs, with her palms clutching at the back of the other¡¯s head. She probed the tip of her tongue into Ye Xun¡¯s moist mouth, hooked the other¡¯s soft tongue around hers and rolled them, their tongues intertwined in a fierce battle. Ye Xun¡¯s ears turned red as she raised her neck and supported He Yu¡¯s back with one hand.
After a long kissing session, He Yu slowly withdrew her tongue. She rubbed Ye Xun¡¯s ear and asked in a low voice, ¡°What¡¯s wrong, are you feeling sad?¡±
He Yu didn¡¯t forget that this child still remembered the events fromst week, and He Yu knows that she cared but was silently enduring the entire time.
¡°No,¡± Ye Xun whispered, taking back her hand, her knuckles white, ¡°There¡¯s nothing to be depressed about.¡±
He Yu took a deep breath as she adjusted to the sudden feeling of emptiness on her back. She lifted her hands to brush her scattered hair and then raised Ye Xun¡¯s face to kiss her once again.
She kissed very lightly, and slowly, and Ye Xun¡¯s eyes gradually changed, and a certain deep feeling stirring in her eyes.
¡°Don¡¯t overthink it¡¡± He Yu whispered, kissing the corner of her lips, slowly slid down as she lifted her chin.
Ye Xun was startled and hurriedly reached out to stop her, but unexpectedly He Yu caught her hands and pinned them above her. Ye Xun¡¯s clenched her teeth as her ears turned a deeper shade of red.

The breakfast ended up untouched as it turned cold on the table.
When the sun reached the center of the sky, the two of them finally got out of bed and ate some noodles for lunch.
In the afternoon, Ye Xun went back to school, and He Yu looked after the shop.
In the evening, He Yu received another bouquet of blue roses delivered to her by the nearby flower shop. No need to guess who ordered it, she already knew who sent them as she signed the forms.
This was the first time that the customers saw her ept flowers from anyone, so a familiar customer asked curiously, ¡°Boss, who sent those flowers?¡±
She set the bouquet on the left side of the bar and smiled softly, ¡°My lover.¡±
The customers were more surprised by this revtion. They had all thought it was just an excuse.

Recently, the weather has be hot, and Jiang Yun was less busy than usual. She invited her friends to get together, and they decided to rent out an outdoor swimming pool.
He Yu took Ye Xun with her, and some of the other guests also brought their lovers or their friends.
Everyone here was quite liberal about their choice of wear, all of them wearing seductive three-point bikini sets, naturally, that included He Yu as well. Ye Xun had been following her, refusing to be farther than half a step away. Jiang Yun pulled He Yu to the side and whispered: ¡°Your child is so clingy~¡±
He Yu nced at Ye Xun behind her, raising her slender eyebrows as Jiang Yun smiled meaningfully and walked away, cocktail in hand. He Yu led Ye Xun towards one of the poolside chairs, handed her a sunscreen bottle, lifted her hair as shey on the chair: ¡°Help me apply the sunscreen.¡±
Ye Xun stared at her.
She looked down and stared at the bright and beautiful back for a moment, then squeezed out the sunscreen, rubbing it into her back, shoulders, back, waist¡ and above the tailbone, where her hand stopped, hovering there for a long time.
He Yu tilted her head sideways and looked at her.
Ye Xun lowered her eyes, dodging He Yu¡¯s gaze.
The women around them nced at the two andughed softly, whispering in hushed tones.
Jiang Yun was chatting with a cold faced woman who didn¡¯t respond, making her feel bored. She sipped her drink and walked away to talk with someone else. She slipped into a corner and took out a pack of cigarettes. She had a bit of an addiction and couldn¡¯t control her need to smoke a stick or two.
Back to the couple, Ye Xun had finally finished applying the sunscreen, He Yu stood up and said, ¡°Come here, let me help you put on some sunscreen as well.¡±
Ye Xun moved closer, and He Yu first applied some on her arm, and just when she touched the other, the nearby conversations suddenly stopped.
He Yu turned her head to see what happened. Everyone was staring at an uninvited guest, especially Jiang Yun, whose face wore an ugly look.
Chapter 12: Intimate
Chapter 12: Intimate
At the left end of the pool, a neatly dressed, a short-haired woman stood there, looking at Jiang Yun. Jiang Yun stared back but refused to greet her; instead, she watched her indifferently, sighing as she exhaled a breath of smoke.
This woman was Qin Zhao, Jiang Yun¡¯s ex-girlfriend.
The people present were all aware of the rtionship between the two, so none of them greeted her.
She walked over to Jiang Yun¡¯s side, and Jiang Yun raised her eyebrows, inhaled again, tapped the cigarette against the ashtray, and twisted the remaining half of the cigarette into the trash can. She waited for Qin Zhao to reach her and then, with a calm voice, said, ¡°Don¡¯t bother everyone here, let¡¯s go outside and talk.¡±
Qin Zhao frowned, seemingly unwilling, but Jiang Yun didn¡¯t give her time to hesitate as she went straight past her. Qin Zhao hurriedly walked as she tried to keep up.
The cold faced woman watched Jiang Yun¡¯s retreating figure until she disappeared.
Only Ye Xun didn¡¯t understand what was going on, so He Yu exined it to her.
¡°She wants to get back together?¡± Ye Xun asked.
He Xun nodded, wiped down Ye Xun¡¯s arm, turned to her back, and stroked the straight spine. Ye Xun immediately stiffened at the touch. He Yu stopped teasing her, solemnly applying sunscreen and said: ¡°However, this is quite unnecessary, Xiao Yun will never agree.¡±
Jiang Yun and Qin Zhao had dated for nearly nine years, but even such a rtionship couldn¡¯t prevent the other from cheating on her with a cheap woman willing to spread their legs open for anyone. If it wasn¡¯t for the provocative photo the ¡°mistress¡± had sent, Jiang Yun would¡¯ve still been in the dark about the whole affair.
This society was changing too fast, trying to bnce life and work; these two big mountains of responsibility would leave one breathless. So the more eager one bes for a peaceful bnce, the more clear-headed they are when making choices in their emotional rtionships. How many times can a person waste nine full years in a lifetime? If a person wants peace, it is better to throw away the garbage instead of spending your time.
Ye Xun stayed silent for a long time, and when the sunscreen was applied, she sincerely said: ¡°I will never do this to you.¡±
He Yu froze, she did not expect Ye Xun to change the topic to their situation, and so did not know what to reply.
¡ª¡ª¡ª¡ª¡ª¡ª¡ª¡ª¡ª¡ª¡ª¡ª¡ª¡ª¡ª¡ª¡ª¡ª¡ª¡ª¡ª¡ª¡ª¡ª¡ª¡ª¡ª¡ª¡ª¡ª¡ª¡ª¡ª¡ª¡ª¡ª¡ª¡ª¡ª
Not even three minutes had passed when Jiang Yun returned, and Qin Zhao had left. Everyone knew not to say anything, and two of Jiang Yun¡¯s friends pulled her into the water to y. Eventually, the atmosphere returned to its previous cheerfulness.
On the left side of the pool, a long-haired couple of simr height were kissing in the water. Beside them were other couples, holding each other in intimate positions, only He Yu and Ye Xun seemed to be following an unspoken rule, keeping an appropriate distance.
He Yu had her eyes closed andy there sunbathing, while Ye Xuny on a chair next to her, the two speaking a few words to each other from time to time.
Ye Xun looked at her secretly, staring at her smooth shoulders, delicate back, thin waists, and her slightly raised buttocks. And there was a faint bluish-purple mark on the inner thighs. On the inner thigh, there was a faint bluish mark, which was left by herst night when she ****ed her.
The creator was fair. Although He Yu was not tall, she has perfect body proportions, especially her well-formed long legs, so fair and sexy.
Ye Xun didn¡¯t dare to look more, retracted her eyes, and closed them.
On the other side, Jiang Yun and crew had their fun in the water, and were now ashore, cooking barbecue.
While the temperature was still warm, He Yu brought Ye Xun to swim with her for ap or two. At this point, there were still a few couples in the pool as well. He Yu emerged from the water and identally bumped into Ye Xun¡¯s arms, which tightened them to envelop He Yu into a hug.
Ye Xun brought He Yu to the poolside.
Because Ye Xun moved so fast when He Yu finally reacted, she was hugging Ye Xun tightly.
And Ye Xun held her thigh, their bodies pressing against each other.
Chapter 13: Before bathing
Chapter 13: Before bathing
The sun reflected from an opposite high-rise building, turning the sparkling pool¡¯s water transparent. She blinked as the water slid down her hair andnded on her chest.
She tried to move her legs, but instead, the inner sides ground onto Ye Xun¡¯s waist.
Their positions were incredibly intimate, causing a few people above to nce at them. However, everyone pretended not to see them, and didn¡¯t say anything.
She wanted to step back, but Ye Xun stopped her and held the two of them together. Maybe it was just an illusion, but He Yu felt cold as the water sshed around her, a cool breezending on her back. She unconsciously tightened her arms around Ye Xun and closed the distance between them.
Ye Xun pushed her against the pool¡¯s wall, released her hands, and bent over to kiss. He Yu on the corner of her lips.
Just a light peck, nothing more.
A few people watchingughed suddenly, even He Yu couldn¡¯t help the corners of her lips from raising.
In contrast, the other two couples in the pool were either ying in the water or kissing so deeply that they were almost inseparable.
This group of girls was all at an age where they no longer interacted with people of Ye Xun¡¯s age, so everyone was secretly observing Ye Xun.
After soaking in the water for a long time, He Yu pulled Ye Xun ashore.
Jiang Yun brought some barbecue over and teased her a little, He Yu epted the barbecue and ignored her.
_______________________________________________________________
Around ten in the evening, the guests started going home. Jiang Yun had drunk herself silly while He Yu hadn¡¯t drunk a drop. He Yu wanted to drop Jiang Yun off but was intercepted by the cold-faced woman who offered to drive Jiang Yun home instead.
He Yu had seen the cold-faced woman once or twice; she was a friend of a friend who had a working rtionship with Jiang Yun.
Jiang Yun still held some rationality, knew who the other party was, so epted the cold-faced woman¡¯s offer, and left with her.
He Yu and Ye Xun drove back to their neighborhood.
At this point, themunity was silent; the dim street lights were the only lights left on. When He Yu reached the door of her apartment, Ye Xun was still following behind her.
He Yu stood at the door and refused to let Ye Xun in.
Ye Xun respected her wishes; she wouldn¡¯t enter if the other didn¡¯t want her to.
¡°I¡¯m going to S City on Tuesday,¡± said He Yu. ¡°I will be studying and staying there for two to three days.¡±
Even if she was just selling coffee, she still needed to keep up with the current trends and learn thetest marketing techniques. Since one couldn¡¯t expect a person toe and teach, she had to attend an event instead.
Ye Xun quietly hummed in agreement.
¡°Go to bed early, and I¡¯ll see you tomorrow morning.¡± He Yu started to close the door.
Ye Xun stopped the door with one hand, leaned forward, and kissed her lips. Just like how she was taught, she bit on He Yu¡¯s lips and poked with her tongue.
He Yu was a bit surprised, but didn¡¯t push her away, and opened her mouth slightly in response.
_______________________________________________________________
The trip was a total of three days. When she returned, Ye Xun was leaving to participate in apetition. It seemed their schedules were staggered.
Ye Xun¡¯spetition should be done in the afternoon, and she said she would return this evening.
He Yu had bought a gift from S City for Ye Xun and was preparing several dishes for dinner when Mother He called, asking about thetest situation with Ye Xun.
He Yu mumbled some answers and didn¡¯t directly answer Mother He¡¯s questioning.
¡°Bring her over when you¡¯re free.¡± Mother He ordered, before abruptly hanging up.
He Yu felt helpless. Ye Xun was still a student; if she took her home, Mother He will definitely have a lot of opinions on the matter. She¡¯ll wait until Ye Xun graduates before doing anything.
Around eight, Ye Xun returned. They ate, unpacked, and even took a bath together.
Taking off their clothes, they didn¡¯t enter the bath immediately and did it in front of the sink.
He Yu supported herself in front of the sink while Ye Xun was behind her¡.
Chapter 14: Water
Chapter 14: Water
In some things, Ye Xun listened intently and had made rapid progress in her learning.
When He Yu finished, she copsed onto the bed, exhausted. However, Ye Xun hadn¡¯t had enough and continued unashamedly to make trouble for her throughout the night.
_______________________________________________________________
Ye Xun stayed there the entire night, and the two didn¡¯t fall asleep until one or two in the morning.
The next day the sun was shining brightly in the sky, but the curtains were closed tightly, and they only opened around 2 pm. It had only been a couple of months into the rtionship, so the emotions were still going strong. He Yu was still lying on the bed when Ye Xun bit her ear. Although she tried to move, she couldn¡¯t escape.
¡°Do you have anything in the afternoon?¡± He Yu asked, her voice slightly hoarse. She felt exhausted and would not be opening up the shop today.
Ye Xun helped brush the messy hair covering He Yu¡¯s neck and answered, ¡°No, I should be free all week since thepetition has ended.¡±
He Yu didn¡¯t have much energy, just hummed, and stopped talking. She wanted to rest for a while and sleep. Ye Xun didn¡¯t bother her, and shey there beside her quietly.
_______________________________________________________________
In deep sleep, He Yu felt something pressing on her body, but her eyes didn¡¯t open, so she must be feeling it in her dreams.
In her dream, the two of them were separated, and Ye Xun was looking for her in a canyon. The valley was densely popted, the ground was wet, the road was muddy and slippery. She waited for Ye Xun on a nearby hillside and watched as Ye Xun walked over very slowly even though the distance between them was short. She called out to Ye Xun frantically and told her to hurry, but Ye Xun remained indifferent to her pleas.
The dark clouds above them converged together, and rain fell onto the ground, forming a muddy stream. However, Ye Xun was still strolling without hurry, and the rain-soaked her body, the water dripping from her slender knuckles.
When she finally stepped in front of her, and He Yu hugged her tightly, like a dying man grabbing onto their life-saving cure, refusing to let go. She felt sweat drip down her face, a feeling of surviving a cmity washing over her.
Ye Xun rubbed a soothing hand across her back, and whispered seductively into her ear, ¡°Older sister¡¡±
_______________________________________________________________
Her chest tightened as she awoke, and she tried to calm her breathing. It took her a long time before her mind cleared up and her breathing stabilized.
Ye Xun had woken up first, cleaned the room, and ordered takeout.
When she felt strong enough, He Yu took a bath first, washing off the sticky sweat on her body.
Around dusk, they went downstairs to walk around when Brother He and his wife came to visit.
The two of them just happened to be passing by and wanted to bring some food and see how she was doing.
He Yu happened to be holding hands with Ye Xun at the moment, an intimate gesture that could not be mistaken for anything else.
Although Brother He epted his little sister¡¯s sexual orientation, he still froze upon seeing the two. He thought his little sister was one who was a clear-headed person and that her partner would be someone like her, a stable and mature person. He didn¡¯t understand why she was with someone who looked like a student.
After asking a question, he realized that the other not only looked like a student but was a student as well.
Brother He¡¯s face contorted into aplex expression, but his wife was calm and politely greeted Ye Xun.
The four people walked up the stairs, and the entire time Brother He¡¯s brows were furrowed, his forehead twisted. It seems he couldn¡¯t approve of Ye Xun being his sister¡¯s lover.
Ye Xun was 21 this year, and his little He Yu was five years older. Although this wasn¡¯t a big difference, the other was still an inexperienced student, one that could easily hurt He Yu. Brother He was extremely dissatisfied as he thought of this.
As they entered, Ye Xun poured everyone a drink. Sister-inw smiled and thanked Ye Xun, but Brother He still wore a grave expression.
Chapter 15: Coincidence
Chapter 15: Coincidence
His wife elbowed him, and Brother He dropped his expression. He was, after all a 34-year-old man and knew how to keep up a polite pretense. He continued to chat with Ye Xun and would not purposely make the other side feel ufortable.
He Yu was not good at handling these situations, so he watched quietly from the side. Ye Xun was sincere and clever in her answers, knowing what to say and how much she should reveal. When asked about her family, she answered that they were in Beijing and worked with real estate, but didn¡¯t go into the details.
Being young and rich would not help her situation, and would instead do the opposite, making Brother He even more uncertain about her. So she tried not to emphasize those two facts.
The conversation went smoothly; at least her brother¡¯s disapproval was not too noticeable. He Yu wanted to keep them for dinner, but there was still a Mother He and baby waiting for them at home. The couple stayed for only half an hour and then left.
Before leaving, Brother He told He Yu: ¡°Don¡¯t take her home to visit yet, Mom will¡¡± He hesitated for a while, then said, ¡°She¡¯s still too young, wait until your rtionship is more¡ stable.¡±
He Yu didn¡¯t need him to say anymore.
Ye Xun was cleaning the table, and He Yu wanted tofort her but didn¡¯t know what to say. Instead, it was Ye Xun who made the first move and led her to the sofa, ying her down. She helped massage He Yu¡¯s waist and legs.
Last night, they had done it too many times. The result of her overdoing it was a sore body and weak legs, and although she could still walk, a light massage would make the pain more bearable.
¡°Don¡¯t take it to heart.¡± He Yu moved her waist a bit ¡°My brother was just spewing hot air, he didn¡¯t mean anything by it.¡±
When she had moved earlier, some of her clothes hitched up, revealing a thin white waist with red patches covering the lower areas. Ye Xun saw it, and her ears turned red before she pulled the clothes back down.
¡°Ok, I won¡¯t.¡± She whispered, looking away.
He Yu didn¡¯t notice anything, grabbed her hand, flipped it over, and massaged her back in turn. Ye Xun twisted her hands around a bit but didn¡¯t stop He Yu as her face burned up slightly.
¡ª¡ª¡ª¡ª¡ª¡ª¡ª¡ª¡ª¡ª¡ª¡ª¡ª¡ª¡ª¡ª¡ª¡ª¡ª¡ª¡ª¡ª¡ª¡ª¡ª¡ª¡ª¡ª¡ª¡ª¡ª¡ª¡ª¡ª¡ª¡ª¡ª¡ª¡ª
As time flies, the cool breeze turned into a fierce wind that cuts like a knife. The school had let out for winter vacation, so the shop became deserted. There were no more than two guests a day, so He Yu decided to shut down the shop to avoid wasting ingredients.
Before the end of term, Ye Xun and a few ssmates had applied for some research program at the school and was in no hurry to leave the school. He Yu would visit her and deliver snacks from time to time.
Everyone in the program knew about their rtionship, and since the younger generation tended to be more tolerant and open, they didn¡¯t treat them any differently from an average couple.
It was unusually cloudy today, and He Yu had nothing to do; none of her friends were free either. So she stayed inside all day, listening to music while practicing yoga. On the way home from buying groceries, she saw the clouds gather together and looked like it was going to rain.
She hurriedly returned home, grabbed an umbre, and walked to the research building.
When she reached the building, she sent Ye Xun a message and waited.
Ye Xun didn¡¯t reply, so she was probably busy.
There are also two people in suits and leather shoes outside the research building. They looked like important executives, and the older one had a kind expression, his hair neatlybed. He wore a Cartier watch on his hand, his suit looked like it was personally designed for him, but He Yu didn¡¯t recognize the brand of his shoes.
He Yu nced at them curiously, but she was polite enough to not stare at them directly.
The man noticed He Yu looking at him and didn¡¯t mind; instead, he nodded at her in a friendly manner. He Yu returned with a smile and nod of her own.
She waited and nced at her phone. Ye Xun hadn¡¯t replied yet. The dark clouds were tumbling like turbulent waves, but the rain hadn¡¯t started yet.
About a minuteter, the clouds cleared away, and the sky returned to a faint turquoise color. At that moment, her phone buzzed. She tapped on the message: Coming soon. It was from Ye Xun.
The younger guy in the suit also looked at his phone and then whispered to the older man.
Chapter 16: Meeting the parents
Chapter 16: Meeting the parents
He Yu never thought that the kind man in the suit was Ye Xun¡¯s father.
Ye Xun had first called out a ¡°Dad¡± to the old man and then stood next to her. Caught in this sudden situation, He Yu froze but was still able to greet the other person.
Father Ye seemed more kind than she had imagined. He wore expensive clothing but was not arrogant. He was on a business trip to Chengdu and decided to swing by Chongqing to see Ye Xun.
Ye Xun had only known her father wasing when she received a message around four in the afternoon, and because he had a flight early in the morning, she didn¡¯t think to tell He Yu. She had intended to have a quick reunion and meal with her father but didn¡¯t expect her girlfriend and father to have coincidentally met here.
Without any warning or preparation, He Yu was a little nervous about meeting her girlfriend¡¯s parents.
Father Ye was a cheerful and talkative man, and the younger man was even more talkative. He was Father Ye¡¯s secretary.
The four of them went to a traditional hot pot ce for dinner.
He Yu originally wanted to take them to a ce that served Beijing styled dishes, but Father Ye said he wanted to try out the recipes that were unique to Chongqing.
They ordered the ¡°mandarin ducks¡± hotpot*, and since all three Beijing citizens dislike spicy food, none of them touched the spicy section. During the meal, Father Ye would ask He Yu a few questions, such as her age and upation to which He Yu answered back truthfully.
¡°It is good to pursue your dreams and do the things you like when your younger; it is much better than working yourself to death in an office.¡± Father Ye learned that she had opened up a coffee shop near the university, and while he didn¡¯t disdain her for doing so, he didn¡¯t support it either, he kept a neutral opinion.
When Ye Xun helped him cook some food, he smiled happily.
He Yu was a lot less nervous after seeing his attitude and took the initiative in bringing up topics. Before leaving the hot pot restaurant, Father Ye invited her to visit Beijing for vacation.
Early the next morning, the two saw Father Ye off, and He Yu gave the secretary some local snacks for them to eat.
Although this was the first time they met, and Father Ye¡¯s attitude wasn¡¯t considered warm, he was thoroughly impressed by He Yu.
Two dayster, Ye Xun received some exclusive products from Beijing, including a roasted duck. Of course, it was not just for her. Father Ye had used a roundabout way to express his feelings, and Ye Xun understood, so she brought the products over to He Yu¡¯s apartment.
He Yu had just taken a shower, and her hair was still wet.
Ye Xun helped blow dry her hair.
¡°Would you like to go to Beijing for a short trip?¡± Since they were currently idle, they might as well go out and pass the time.
He Yu felt a bit conflicted, she didn¡¯t know why, but she felt like now was not the right time to take a trip to Beijing.
¡°We¡¯ll see in two days, let me think about it first,¡± she said, without directly rejecting it.
Ye Xun hummed, and set down the blow dryer: ¡°I¡¯ll be leaving next Sunday and will return five days before the next semester starts.¡±
¡°Your research project is done already?¡± He Yu asked, stunned.
¡°I can continue next semester.¡± Ye Xun got up and hugged her waist, kissing her soft and fluffy ck hair, whispering, ¡°May I?¡±
She asked, but her hands were already under her clothing, slowly sliding up.
Her back felt like it was burning like a fire. He Yu raised her chin, took a deep breath, and, unconsciously tightening her stomach¡
Ye Xun kissed her, sending the fire to spread all over her body.
Chapter 17: Hurried
Chapter 17: Hurried
He Yu didn¡¯t let her do much, stopping after two rounds. Feeling sticky, the two of them took a bath together¡.
The two were bing morepatible with each other.
_______________________________________________________________
The next few idle days were rxing but boring. There wasn¡¯t anyone avable to hang out with so she could only stick to exercising or reading books and watching dramas. She asionally went home to visit her mother, and every time Mother He would bring up Ye Xun. She wanted to meet her daughter¡¯s girlfriend, but He Yu would always change the topic.
Naturally, Mother He knew that He yu was avoiding the subject so she could say, ¡°Don¡¯t torment yourself and live a peaceful, stable life.¡±
He Yu knew that her mother was just worried for her, so she nodded her head: ¡°I know.¡±
When she left, Mother He would pack her two person¡¯s worth of portions of ky meat-filled rice cakes and sticky brown sugar rice cakes.
These two person¡¯s worth of rice cakes all ended up in Ye Xun¡¯s stomach.
Regarding Ye Xun-s previous proposal to visit Beijing, He Yu thought about it and finally decided not to go, but, s, things always change unexpectedly. Right before He Yu was ready to tell Ye Xun the decision, Mother He suddenly decided to travel abroad for Chinese New Year, and would only return after the fourth day, which happened to conflict with He Yu¡¯s schedule.
When her brother told her the news, Ye Xun happened to be present, and she nced sideways at He Yu.
In the next few days, although Ye Xun didn¡¯t say anything, she was observing He Yu¡¯s reaction secretly, waiting for her answer.
It seemed that Ye Xun really wanted to bring He Yu home with her.
He Yu didn¡¯t know what to do, so he asked for advice from Jiang Yun.
Jiang Yun answered without hesitation: ¡°It¡¯s good to see the parents in advance. The dad has already sent you gifts, which means they already ept you. Don¡¯t stress about it too much, and you¡¯ll have to see them sooner orter anyway.¡±
¡°Wouldn¡¯t it be too sudden?¡± He Yu frowned, their rtionship seemed to be moving a little too fast.
¡°Why do you think that little kid asked you to go?¡± Jiang Yun asked, if it weren¡¯t for her parents reminding her, Ye Xun would¡¯ve never asked. ¡°It¡¯s not like you¡¯re asking them for their blessings to marry or anything. Nowadays, it¡¯s just a meal and some chatting, not a big deal at all.¡±
He Yu still had her doubts, while Jiang Yun searched for a cigarette, but she didn¡¯t smoke it. She was trying to quit, but whenever she felt the need, she would take out a stick and take a whiff. When she was annoyed or angry, she would only smoke half a stick. After a while, she felt a little anxious and went outside with a lighter.
_______________________________________________________________
He Yu decided to go to Beijing. Ye Xun, on the surface, was calm but had called her parents two or three times in private.
On Friday night, maybe because she thought they wouldn¡¯t have many chances to do it after they arrive in Beijing, Ye Xun came over to He Yu¡¯s apartment in the middle of the night. She gave an excuse, which was ¡°to help pack the luggage,¡± but came over to mess around.
He Yu knew what she wanted, but didn¡¯t let her do it until the packing was done.
¡°You can pack up in the morning¡¡± Ye Xun whispered, leaving kisses behind her ears, then leaning down to kiss her neck while her hands tightened around her waist.
He Yu tilted her head, grabbed Ye Xun¡¯s arms, and murmured something softly. Ye Xun turned her around, biting her soft lips, and kissed her fiercely as their tongues intertwined.
After ¡°messing around¡± the entire night did they fall asleep.
Chapter 18: Good for you
Chapter 18: Good for you
The weather was beautiful the next day, and there were no clouds in the sky. The sun gradually rose from the east and changed from orange-red to golden.
In the winter, a warm quilt was extremelyfortable. The heat under the quilt was quitefortable. She moved her legs, and her white fingers couldn¡¯t help reaching out for something when it was clenched by another slender hand.
The quilt seemed to tremble until after a long while, it finally stopped.
A wet hand reached out from under the quilt, and grabbed the phone on the nightstand, unlocking the screen.
He Hexian kissed Ye Xun¡¯s face and moved to stand up and dress: ¡°I¡¯m going to cook, you clean up the room.¡±
Ye Xun pulled her back to the bed, into her arms, and said softly, ¡°Sleep a little longer¡¡±
She was enveloped into a tight hug, unable to move, so she just brushed her hair a bit, andy there with Ye Xun. Her eyes were closed, and she breathed quietly, her lips slightly open. Perhaps she felt ufortable since her hands were being crushed for son long, so she lifted her hands from under He Yu¡¯s waist. She did a half-turn and buried her face into He Yu¡¯s neck.
He Yu found this scene to be too cute, so she didn¡¯t push her away.
¡ª¡ª¡ª¡ª¡ª¡ª¡ª¡ª¡ª¡ª¡ª¡ª¡ª¡ª¡ª¡ª¡ª¡ª¡ª¡ª¡ª¡ª¡ª¡ª¡ª¡ª¡ª¡ª¡ª¡ª¡ª¡ª¡ª¡ª¡ª¡ª¡ª¡ª¡ª
On Sunday, the two went to Beijing.
He Yu told her family she was traveling by herself. Mother He said a few words without asking much, telling her to stay safe.
In Beijing, Mr. and Mrs. Ye picked them up.
She sat in the back with Ye Xun, and although Mother Ye talked to her in a kind and warm manner, He Yu was still a little nervous. Ye Xunforted her and secretly grabbed her hand, rubbing her knuckles softly.
When the car stopped, Father Ye identally saw this scene, thought about something, and then nced at Mother Ye, who smiled back.
Before they entered, Father Ye said to He Yu, ¡°Just think of us as your own family, no need for any formalities.¡±
He Yu nodded in response.
The old couple were very approachable and didn¡¯t put on airs. The other family members were told in advance that He Yu wasing and greeted her warmly.
This visit was nice and easy and was like what Jiang Yun predicted, just to chat and eat. They didn¡¯t ask her anything about her family and respected her privacy.
Mother Ye was a well-read person. When she was young, she had studied in Ennd and was open-minded to new ideas. The Ye family also didn¡¯t interfere with Ye Xun¡¯s decisions-they believed in an education that was different from the traditions.
Mother Ye took them shopping and to greet some old friends. She likes reading and flower arrangement, which, coincidentally, so did He Yu.
¡°Young people nowadays only go online, never finding the time to explore other things,¡± Mother Ye said, ncing at Ye Xun, who was scrolling through her phone and then looked at He Yu carefully pruning the branches and felt satisfied. ¡°I learned flower arrangement from Ah-Xun¡¯s grandmother, but only a little bit so that I could pass the time.¡±
He Yu praised her arrangement, and Mother Yeughed.
They spent New Year¡¯s in Beijing, and on the second day of the new year, Mother Ye dragged her to make dumplings. She didn¡¯t know how to roll the skin, so Ye Xun went, and she wrapped it.
On the third day, He Yu flew back to Chongqing.
Ye Xun said she¡¯ll stay in Beijing for a while, wouldn¡¯t return with her, but drove her to the airport. Before getting out of the car, Ye Xun kissed her. There were many people outside the vehicle, and although He Yu was a little embarrassed, she put that hough into the back of her mind. Ye Xun held the back of her head and rolled her tongue in He Yu¡¯s mouth.
The weather was cold, and He Yu gasped for breath, the exhaled breath was white. Ye Xun put her hat on and then walked her in.
Ye Xun helped her with the luggage, waited for the ne, and walked with her to the check-in. She didn¡¯t leave until she saw He Yu¡¯s ne takeoff.
When Jiang Yun heard He Yu¡¯s description, she said with emotion, ¡°Good for you, I¡¯m so envious¡
Chapter 19: Okay
Chapter 19: Okay
He Yu smiled: ¡°How are you doing?¡±
¡°Same old, same old. Still trying to quit smoking,¡± Jiang Yun said, shaking her empty cigarette box. She still kept the box to remind herself to stop. ¡°It¡¯s not fun¡¡±
¡°I had decided to quit smoking on impulse, but how can it be that easy? It¡¯s tough to give something up once you¡¯re addicted to it. This addiction is annoying, too, making me feel so tired every time I can¡¯t satisfy my craving.¡±
He Yu handed her a piece of chewing gum, ¡°Persevere, you¡¯ll get through it.¡±
Jiang Yun didn¡¯t reply and chewed gum.
The two were sitting in a western restaurant waiting for their food. The restaurant lights were dim. He Yu scrolled through her phone and asked casually, ¡°What has Ah-Ning been up to recently?¡±
¡°She is preparing for the graduate school entrance examination,¡± Jiang Yun replied, ¡°She has a school she wants to go to, bought the materials, and have begun studying.¡±
He Yu froze and stared at her.
Jiang Yun also said, ¡°Students these days have everything nned out. When I was their age, I was toozy to study and made up for that mistaketer by suffering in the workce.¡± she paused, squeezing the edge of the cigarette case. ¡°I heard from Ah-Ning that Ye Xun would most likely continue and be a graduate student at T University. What will you do then?¡±
He Yu didn¡¯t think about this problem because it depends on Ye Xun¡¯s decision. After all, going abroad to study wasn¡¯t umon nowadays.
¡°Whether she chooses to prepare for the postgraduate examination or go abroad will be up to her.¡± She replied.
¡°I don¡¯t think she¡¯ll go abroad. Most students who n to go abroad would¡¯ve left two to three years ago. Our domestic education is not worse than those foreign countries. T University is a good school, they rank among the best in the world for mechanical engineering majors. Moreover, you don¡¯t need to rely on a professional degree to support your rtionship.¡± Jiang Yun analyzed, and then, feeling that they had strayed from the initial conversation and so changed the subject, ¡°How was the shop¡¯s profitst year?¡±
He Yu held up four fingers, ¡°Monthly average.¡±
¡°You are one richdy¡¡± Jiang Yun tutted.
¡°Ready to buy a house in April.¡±
¡°Work hard so I can hug your big thighter!*.¡±
He Yu couldn¡¯t help butugh, ¡°Okay.¡±
_______________________________________________________________
On the tenth day, Ye Xun returned to Chongqing, and He Yu went to Jingbei airport to pick her up. Ye Xun was dressed elegantly, her long legs and height made her even more attractive despite the almost shoulder-length short hair that was tied up half-heartedly. In her right hand, she held a suitcase, and in the left, she held a bouquet of roses. When she walked out and saw He Yu, she hugged her fiercely.
There were lots of people passing by, and they nced curiously at the two.
He Yu patted her back, ¡°Alright, let¡¯s go back.¡±
She felt a bit embarrassed because, after all, they were still in the middle of a crowded, open space. Ye Xun hummed in agreement, lifted her hands, and straightened, her lips lightly brushing He Yu¡¯s cheeks.
He Yu noticed, looked up at her, and grabbed the roses as Ye Xun very naturally, grabbed her hand.
After dinner, He Yu actively asked Ye Xun to stay for the night.
Ye Xun saw that He Yu was reading an article on furniture decoration, and asked while moving the pillow, ¡°Which ones are you going to buy?¡±
He Yu put down her phone and lifted her waist in response, ¡°Still looking.¡±
¡°I¡¯m going back to Beijing next year,¡± Ye Xun pulled down her trousers and leaned down to kiss her soft lips, ¡°I¡¯m going there for graduate school.¡±
The warm and numbing touch made He Yu feel satisfied but also a little bit empty. She grabbed Ye Xun¡¯s shoulder and kissed back.
After a while, Ye Xun pinned her to the bed.
¡°Make sure to study diligently,¡± she lowered her neck slightly and grasped the pillow. ¡°Later, when ¡ I¡¯ll have time ¡Ahnn~¡e visit you ¡¡±
Ye Xun pressed against her back, leaned close to her ear, and whispered: ¡°Okay¡¡±
Chapter 20: Bump into
Chapter 20: Bump into
In early April, He Yan picked a suite in the Yuzhong District. It was a little expensive, but it was in a good location. She had waited for more than half a month before she decided to buy it. The process of buying a house was a bitplicated. The process of buying a house was a bit confusing, plus buying furniture and overseeing shop matters, by the time summer came, the new home was still notpletely set up yet.
However, He Yu wasn¡¯t worried; she had paid up to a year¡¯s worth of rent, so she would move after the contract expires.
By the end of September, Ye Xun¡¯s affairs were settled, everything went smoothly.
Moreover, with admission to graduate school confirmed, the two were able to spend more time together. Apartment 1503 was almost empty because Ye Xun had started moving her things into He Yu¡¯s apartment. At first, it was her toothbrush, then herputer, and then even her clothes were brought over.
He Yu noticed this, but didn¡¯t say anything because there was still half a year left on her contract, and so let Ye Xun do as she pleases.
Today, the He family had invited her and some rtives over for dinner. It just so happened that Ye Xun had a party with her research partners or something at the same time. So the two went out together and walked to the gate. He Yu helped Ye Xun to straighten her clothes before leaving.
The dinner was at a well-known Jianghu restaurant. Rtives were all passionately discussing different topics when they brought up He Yu and asked Mother He with a smile: ¡°Xiao Yu is already 27, when will she bring back a son-inw?¡±
He Yu paused, her brother and his wife looked at each other, and Mother He calmly announced, ¡°She already has.¡±
The rtives asked in more detail, ¡°When did this happen? Howe we didn¡¯t know? Who is it?¡±
¡°An outsider, not from Chongqing. Not bad either.¡± Mother He nced at He Yu, then changed the topic.
The rtives noticed the change but didn¡¯t say anything as they continued to chat.
He Yu helped her mother see the guests out the door, Mother He asked her in a quiet voice only the two could hear, ¡°So where is she from?¡±
He Yu froze, then answered truthfully, ¡°Beijing?¡±
Mother He only nodded her head and didn¡¯t ask anymore.
He Yu was conflicted as to when she should bring Ye Xun over. At first, she had considered waiting until she graduated but then didn¡¯t want to interfere with her studying for graduate school, and since she wasn¡¯t working yet, she thought her mother wouldin that Ye Xun was a bum as well. However, in the long run, no matter what happens, nothing could guarantee that Mother He wouldn¡¯t have something toin about.
She wondered if she should bring Ye Xun over for New Year¡¯s.
She would ask Ye Xun first, and if she agreed, then that was the n they would go with.
But an ¡°ident¡± urred¡ª
One Saturday morning, He Yu got up early and had nned to go out to pick up some groceries. She had just put on her jacket when Ye Xun came over and hugged her for a ¡°morning exercise¡±. He Yu always did not turn her away and allowed it to happen.
After two rounds, she washed up and went out, leaving Ye Xun home alone.
The floor was messy, and there were clothes thrown all over the ce. Ye Xun had gone back to sleep, and at 10:30, she slowly got up and packed up. When the cleaning was finished, and she was tying her shoes, ready to throw out the trash when the doorbell rang.
Except for Jiang Yun and Ah-Ning, usually, no one else came to visit. So she didn¡¯t think much and just opened the door.
As soon as the door opened, both the person inside and the person standing outside were stunned.
The face outside the door was seven to eight parts simr to He Yu. Without needing to guess, Ye Xun knew who the other party was¡ªMother He.
Mother He studied her carefully and saw that she was holding a garbage bag in her hand, and her expression eased slightly.
¡°Auntie.¡± Ye Xun politely addressed her, Opening the door wider.
Chapter 21: I miss you
Chapter 21: I miss you
Mother He doesn¡¯t visit often, and asionally when she does, it was during the day, when Ye Xun was in school. So even though He Yu and Ye Xun had been dating for a long time, neither side had met. When she heard Ye Xun¡¯s greetings, her expression turned slightlyplicated, and she hesitated for a while. Without a reply or even making a song, she entered the apartment.
Ye Xun set the garbage bag outside the door, washed her hands, and poured a ss of water for Mother He.
Probably because she didn¡¯t quite approve the rtionship, Mother He was tense from the beginning to the end. Ye Xun was sensible; she knew what Mother He was thinking and took the initiative in starting a conversation. Mother He briefly asked a few questions, and she answered them patiently, one by one. When she heard that Ye Xun was 22, Mother He immediately frowned.
For a moment, the temperature seemed to drop; the atmosphere had frozen. She was not able to ept this situation, but in the end, she couldn¡¯t do anything about it. After a long time, she calmed down and talked with Ye Xun for half an hour.
At noon, He Yu brought the groceries and returned. As soon as she entered, she saw the two sitting on the sofa and chatting like everything was normal. At first, she stood there in a daze; then, she reacted with a shout, ¡°Mom.¡±
The previous heavy expression on her mother¡¯s face eased up a little and nodded slightly in response.
He Yu nced at Ye Xun with a guilty look, and the other party looked back calmly.
The three had lunch together, but because He Yu had to open the shop in the afternoon, she had Ye Xun escort Mother He home instead.
Ye Xun stayed for dinner before leaving. Although Mother He had herints about Ye Xun¡¯s age, she didn¡¯t make thingsplicated and decided that the age gap was normal. After meeting her today, she could guess as to why He Yu was always hiding Ye Xun from her. However, as a person gets older, they start to lose interest and be more rxed when dealing with other people¡¯s affairs. She was also trying to be more open-minded and decided to leave let the younger generation be responsible for their affairs. She just wanted to live the rest of her days infort, ying cards with her grandchild. Although she was still concerned, she no longer interfered.
Ye Xun understood Mother He¡¯s intentions and concerns, so in the following days, she would go shopping Mother He and bought small gifts for He Yu¡¯s family when she visited.
He Yu was more concerned about Ye Xun¡¯s education. She didn¡¯t go to graduate school, so she had no idea what it was like to be a graduate student. For the next half of the year, she researched everything about T University and bought reference materials that Ye Xun might need.
Jiang Yun said she was like her mother and was more worried than even Ye Xun¡¯s biological parents.
¡°Today¡¯s schools are more stressful than before,¡± she said softly, ¡°I can¡¯t help much anyway, so this is all I can do for her.¡±
Jiang Yun quipped: ¡°She hasn¡¯t even left yet and you¡¯re already like this. When she leaves, I bet you¡¯ll fly to Beijing the next day.¡±
He Yu smiled but didn¡¯t deny nor defend herself.
It may be because she was leaving soon, but time passed extremely fast, just like the sand in the funnel, flowing at a fast rate. Ye Xun leisurely spent her time, and asionally went to the school¡¯sb for some research, but the rest of her time she spent helping out at the store. Also, the two of them did it at least two times a week, and now He Yu no longer had anything left to teach her.
As she grew used to thisfortable lifestyle, He Yu was even more reluctant to see her go.
But that day will eventuallye. In September of the following year, she sent Ye Xun T University and only returned to Chongqing after she spent two days in Beijing.
The first day after their separation, everything felt the same as usual. However, on the second day, her heart started to feel a bit empty, and by the third day, she felt anxious, even during their phone calls.
On the fourth night, at about half-past ten, Ye Xun called, and she had just taken a shower.
She picked up, and the other party only said four words-¡°I¡¯m at the door.¡±
She froze as she heard those words, and walked in a daze, opening her door, when two hands grabbed her waist and hugged her.
She wanted to say something, but Ye Xun closed the door and kissed her, stripping off those obstructing pajamas.
Actions speak louder than words; at this moment, all their thoughts and feelings were expressed through actions.
Maybe it was because absence makes the heart grow fonder, it came fast, like the raging ocean waves, while Ye Xun bites her soft red tongue.
He Yu was pinned against the wall, arms wrapped around her shoulders.
¡°I missed you-¡±
