Chapter 1: Get Rich Overnight
Trantor: Henyee Trantions Editor: Henyee Trantions
Inside the operating theater, a team of healthcare professionals dressed in dark blue stood around the operating table and focused on their work.
The surgeon kept his eyes on the patient¡¯s wounds. ¡°Sweat!¡±
A young woman standing next to the surgeon picked up the gauze immediately and dried his sweat while avoiding his eyes!
¡°Hemostatic forceps!¡±
¡°¡¡±
¡°Gauze!¡±
¡°¡¡±
¡°Scissors!¡±
¡°¡¡±
With a snip, the surgeon¡¯s hands halted before he rxed.
¡°The patient¡¯s breathing is normal, and no otherplications arose!¡±
¡°Send the patient to ICU for observation tonight. Remember to watch out for fever and record all observations carefully!¡±
The moment the surgeon finished his sentence, a few healthcare workers pushed the patient and the venttor out of the operating theater.
Only the surgeon and the young woman who assisted him remained in the operating room.
The moment the operating room doors opened, the patient¡¯s family members swarmed over and barraged them with endless questions:
¡°Doctor, how¡¯s my Dad?¡±
¡°Nurse, was the operation sessful?¡±
¡°Yeah! When will Dad wake up?¡±
¡°¡¡±
The nurses stood in front of the swarm of family members and spoke in a practiced and calm tone, ¡°Excuse me, please let us through. The surgery was sessful, but we really need to bring him to ICU! I will answer all your questions in a minute!¡±
As the operating theater doors closed, themotion disappeared eventually.
Inside the operating room¡
The surgeon removed the blood-stained gloves and tossed them into the trashcan by the side.
¡°Su Tang, you assisted well in the surgery today. I will write a report about your performance. I¡¯m sure you will get made full-time member this month!¡±
The mask covered Su Tang¡¯s face, so only her bright eyes could be seen as they glinted with joy.
¡°Really? Thanks!¡±
The surgeon calmly nodded as he said, ¡°Uh-huh! I have seen how hard you worked! Keep it up! The hospital will reward you well!¡±
Su Tang nodded eagerly and could not contain her excitement!
¡°Enough. It¡¯s gettingte. Have an early night after you clean up the operating room!¡±
¡°Yes, I will! Goodbye!¡±
After the surgeon left, Su Tang¡¯s eyes beamed brightly.
She deftly tidied up the operating room as she checked the time to see howte it was.
She caught sight of something shining outside the window from the corner of her eye as she retrieved a surgery apparatus from the disinfecting cab. Hence, she automatically went towards the window.
A double-zed window was installed since they were easier to maintain, so it was bright and clean.
Su Tang¡¯s eyes became softer as they glinted slightly. ¡°Is that a shooting star? It sure looks beautiful!¡±
TICK TOCK, TICK TOCK!
All three hands on her wristwatchbined¡
Su Tang closed her eyes as she muttered softly, ¡°I want to be rich overnight. If it can¡¯t be done overnight, I don¡¯t mind waiting a couple of nights!¡±
A few secondster, Su Tang opened her eyes to see the shooting star right in front of her and felt stunned.
The first thought that crossed her mind was whether meteorites could travel that fast.
Su Tang watched as the dim meteorite crashed onto her swiftly.
Do you want to know how fast the meteorite was?
It was so fast that Su Tang did not even have time to shut her eyes.
Despite the closed window between them, a white light covered Su Tang. In that instant, she almost wanted to cry as a thought shed through her mind.
She should never have made a wish when she saw the shooting star!
Was it toote for her to regret it?
...

A faint voice rang while Su Tang¡¯s mind was in chaos¡
¡°BEEP! Linkingpleted! Transmigration sess!¡±
The white light gradually faded. Su Tang was instantly stunned when she got a close look at the environment.
All the trees around her were so huge that it would take four or five men to embrace them. The lush canopy blocked away most of the light. The ground was covered with a thickyer of wilted leaves, which felt soft to the touch and must have taken a long time to umte.
The forest was rather dark. Mushrooms the size of bowls could be seen in some damp areas! Vine, as thick as her wrists, crept up the trees. Some of them hung in mid-air and looked scary.
Su Tang stared in shock as she stood motionless with the tray.
A single question kept running through her head¡
Where on earth was she? Was this some primitive forest?!
Such fresh air and ancient forests certainly no longer existed in the year 2222.
Su Tang¡¯s hands kept trembling as she held the tray while the operating apparatus clinked crisply.
RUSTLE RUSTLE¡
A sound came from the bushes behind. Su Tang hastily turned around and stared at the bush that was almost a meter high!
RUSTLE RUSTLE¡
Su Tang was on the verge of tears. She suppressed the tears welling in her eyes and picked up the scalpel on the tray before she aimed it at the bush.
The bush swayed even harder as though something was about to jump out.
Su Tang¡¯s heart palpitated. She was terrified and wanted to run, but her legs had gone limp.
She inhaled before mustering her courage to stare hard at the bush.
The bush shook violently before a white silhouette suddenly leaped out of the bush.
¡°AHHH!¡±
Su Tang yelled in shock as tears welled in her eyes. She stumbled behind the tree.
The white silhouette was certainly startled by Su Tang¡¯s scream and hopped away.
Su Tang was a little stunned. Was that a rabbit?
A rabbit the size of a full-grown husky?
She walked up to a tree with her legs shivering.
Su Tang used her sleeve to wipe the tears from the corners of her eyes gently. She wrapped up the surgery apparatus with the cloth inside the tray, ced it inside her pocket, and hugged the tray.
Su Tang huddled under the tree as she scrutinized her surroundings frightenedly. She was still unsure whether she was in a dream or reality.
...
In the forest nearby, a stag hastily raised its head while it was drinking water. It smelled danger in the air and swiftly fled!
A winged white tiger with ck stripes suddenly leaped from the tree and ripped the stag¡¯s throat before it even took two steps.
The stag iled its hooves in resentment before it moaned and closed its eyes helplessly.
¡°Owooooo!¡±
Men with animal skin wrapped around their waists and armed with spears fashioned from long sticks tipped with sharp stones charged out from everywhere. They encircled the white tiger and dead stag as they cheered excitedly.
A white light shed from the winged white tiger before a strong lean man appeared.
¡°Chief! You were awesome! When will I be as strong as you?¡±
Cain looked calmly at the man and said, ¡°Keep hunting. I heard something up ahead, so I¡¯m going to check it out!¡±
¡°Yes, Chief!¡±
The moment Cain finished his sentence, he transformed into a huge white tiger and leaped onto a tree branch.

Su Tang clutched the tray tightly with tears welling in her eyes. She wanted to cry very badly but was afraid of attracting any wild animals.
Su Tang was an orphan. She learned Chinese medicine from the orphanage director, and it was her biggest dream to be a Chinese physician.
However, it was hard to make a living as a Chinese physician owing to society¡¯s advancement. Since it was easier to make a living in Western medicine, Su Tang had no choice but to change her trade for the sake of money!
Su Tang had led a tough life, so she did not want that for the orphanage director and her.
Despite her faintheartedness, Su Tang overcame all her problems and studied hard. She ended up epted as an intern in the hospital of her dreams.
She could finally go through one operation after another without batting an eye and was about to be a full-fledged doctor when fate pulled this stunt on her!
Where on earth was she?
The forest was a little dark, and asional hooting could be heard, so it simply felt creepy!
Su Tang felt even more terrified as she hugged herself and wept softly.
Cain squatted on the tree branch and scrutinized the fair Su Tang huddling under the tree. She seemed to be a female¡
A female?
What was a female doing in the Dark Forest?
Was she abandoned by her tribe or lost?
She was probably lost. After all, no tribe in the right mind would abandon females, considering how rare they were.
Judging from how sadly she was crying, she must have gotten lost for a long time.
Cain spread his wings andnded in front of Su Tang softly without making a sound.
The small female in front of him had fair and clean fingers.
Cain frowned slightly. She was an unmarked female.
Su Tang was still reeling in sadness, so she failed to sense therge white tiger standing before her!
Cain stood for some time. When he realized she failed to notice him, he could not help roaring softly.
ROAR!
Hey!
Su Tang¡¯s hair slightly moved as she froze. She warily lifted her head to see a white tiger¡¯s menacing mouth!
Su Tang¡¯s tears cascaded down her face as she wailed.
¡°Don¡¯t eat me. I-I-I taste really bad¡¡±
Cain¡¯s dark feline eyes looked puzzled. What was the female saying? He did not understand it at all.
White light shed, and he transformed into his human form.
Cain walked up to her and said calmly, ¡°Don¡¯t cry. I¡¯ll take you back to the tribe.¡±
Cain wiped her tears with his fingertips. His dark eyes gently shed before he carried Su Tang across his chest.
Su Tang abruptly stopped crying. She stared at Cain in disbelief and did not even realize she was in his arms!
Cain felt happy with her reaction. She was an obedient female. Although she was scrawny, he did not mind keeping her.
He jumped hard and sprinted out several meters as he darted towards the tribe with the female in his embrace.
Su Tangy in Cain¡¯s arms dumbfounded!
What did she just see? Did the tiger just be a human?
She just saw the tiger transform into this good-looking dude!
Oh god!
Su Tang felt as though her world was copsing. Everything she studied in school was now irrelevant.
Although she hated to admit it, she seemed to have transmigrated somewhere¡
It finally dawned on Su Tang that she did not understand a word the white tiger said.
Since she used to be an elite student from one of the top universities back home, she was simply depressed that she ended up being illiterate here.
She ought to have opted to major in veterinary sciences instead¡
Oh, wait¡ Vets could notmunicate with animals either¡

Chapter 4: Beast World ¨C Part 3

Cain darted through the forest with Su Tang in his arms. Although he was swift, he avoided any dense undergrowth so that the female would not get hurt.
The female in his arms had a sweet scent and felt soft to the touch. Also, she made him salivate while his primal instincts surged!
In the past, warriors in their tribe would often fight over females. Although Cain always found this odd, he finally grasped it now.
He would not want to share this female with anyone else either.
In a few breaths, Cain already had the urge to brand her as his own.
The female was not dressed in animal skin, and her clothes felt softer. Cain had never seen such material before.
Could this female be from Beast City?
Cain¡¯s dark eyes glinted as he tightened his grip on Su Tang. Regardless of her origin, now that she was here, she was now a member of the Winged Tiger Tribe.
After traveling in the forest for about ten minutes, Su Tang noticed that it became brighter as the trees diminished.
...
After traveling in the forest for about ten minutes, Su Tang noticed that it became brighter as the trees diminished.
There were mountains, meadows, and an unsulliedke.
The scenery outside the forest was surprisingly picturesque and felt utopian.
Su Tang was instantly excited and said, ¡°Are we finally out? Where are we going?¡±
Cain lowered his head.
The female¡¯s voice sounded as melodic as a birdsong in springtime.
Although he was clueless about what the female was saying, her eyes were clearly beaming excitedly.
¡°This is Dark Forest. I will take you to my tribe.¡±
Su Tang was startled by his husky voice before she recalled she was incapable ofmunicating with him.
Hence, she went quiet and felt depressed.
Cain was somewhat disappointed that the female stopped talking. He sped up and headed swiftly towards the tribe.
Although Su Tang did not bat an eye when he suddenly sped up, she was delighted as the tiger moved up and down.
It was absolutely thrilling!
Five minutester, the tiger halted in front of a forest.
Su Tang could vaguely see people walking around.
The tiger pulled Su Tang¡¯s hand and gestured for her to follow him.
Although Su Tang said nothing, she was a little scared. After all, this man was a tiger.
She walked out to discover she was in a tribe and an ancient one no less¡
Each of the men had animal skin wrapped around their waists. It came in tiger skin, leopard skin, and even some other skins, which Su Tang failed to recognize.
Compared to the men, the women wore animal skin around their chest and gave off a wild appeal.
Su Tang¡¯s eyes glinted. Before she said a word, someone noticed them.
¡°The Chief is back. He even has a female with him!¡±
With a roar, everyone in Winged Tiger Tribe exploded.
¡°What? Did Chiefe back with a female?¡±
¡°The Beast God has blessed Chief with a female!¡±
¡°How could Chiefe back with a female? Impossible!¡±
¡°But the female looks awfully small. Do you think she¡¯s a kid?¡±
¡°Yeah, exactly! Also, she looks very skinny. Don¡¯t tell me she¡¯s sick? We don¡¯t have any healers here!¡±
¡°Sigh! Why did Chiefe back with a dying baby female?¡±
Su Tang found it odd why everyone cast strange looks at her.
In a matter of moments, the entire Winged Tiger Tribe presumed Su Tang was a young dying female.
Chapter 5
Chapter 5: A Casualty
Cain felt annoyed when he saw tribespeople surrounding them.
He could not help roaring.
It instantly silenced themotion.
Su Tang raised her head and nced at Cain in surprise. The tiger was shockingly highly revered in the tribe.
For some inexplicable reason, Cain certainly enjoyed the female¡¯s attention.
He stuck his chest out and told his tribe, ¡°She was lost. She isn¡¯t sick, and I will take care of her from now on!¡±
After a few seconds of silence, a hugemotion came!
¡°Since this female isn¡¯t sick, she isn¡¯t about to die!¡±
¡°She sure looks pretty, but she¡¯s a little skinny! Do you think she can have babies?¡±
¡°Is Chief going to take care of her?¡±
¡°Heavens! Beast Warriors can only brand a single female in their entire life! Chief should have gone for someone stronger and capable of bearing babies!¡±
Su Tang looked at the people around her curiously. Were they animals too?
Since she could not transform into an animal, would they devour her because she was different?
She automatically shivered in fear.
Cain detected something amiss with her. He thought she was startled by the tribe, so he raised his hand and gestured for them to be quiet.
His dark, stern feline eyes scanned through the crowd as he said coldly, ¡°She is my female!¡±
In a word, he made it clear there was no room for negotiation. Also, he sent out a clear warning to all the other males who had any thoughts about Su Tang.
¡°Owooo! Owooo!¡±
The beastmen waved a fist over their heads and jumped excitedly.
Despite the strange sight, Su Tang could sense that they were weing her.
She slowly rxed, and a smile emerged on her face.
Just as everyone cheered exhrated, a man covered in blood pushed through the crowd and ran inside.
¡°C-chief, we encountered a saber tooth tiger! Meng Ze is injured! His belly was sliced open, and he¡¯s bleeding badly!¡±
Cain¡¯s face turned grave as an intimidating aura radiated from him. It was an emergency, and he gave the orders methodically.
¡°Big Bear, take two men and carry Meng Ze to the stream. Take care not to touch his wound. Green Fruit, get Old Nick to go over and have a look.¡±
Both the beastmen left swiftly.
The rest of them went into a furor.
¡°Meng Ze was sliced open at the belly. Can he survive?¡±
¡°May the Beast God bless Meng Ze and ensure he makes it!¡±
¡°Since we don¡¯t have a healer in the tribe, I don¡¯t think Meng Ze will make it!¡±
¡°Sigh. Meng Ze had so much potential to be a Divine Warrior. It¡¯s such a pity that he¡¯s¡¡±
Everyone spoke sadly.
Su Tang had an inkling that someone was hurt, and they were unable to treat him.
Would they give her asylum if she managed to save the beastman?
It was a mere thought. Since she had yet to examine the patient, Su Tang did not want to take any risks and provoke them if she failed to save the patient.
A young female suddenly dashed from the crowd and knelt by Cain with her eyes red.
¡°Chief, please save Meng Ze! He cannot die¡ I-I-I haven¡¯t even given him any kids yet. I can¡¯t go on without him¡¡±
Chapter 6
Chapter 6: A Casualty ¨C Part 2
A lot of older females could not help wanting to cry when they heard the young female sobbing.
¡°Yuanyuan is so pitiful. She only recently became partners with Meng Ze. How could this happen?¡±
¡°Yuanyuan, why don¡¯t you get up? Chief isn¡¯t a healer, so it¡¯s not like he can cure Meng Ze.¡±
¡°That¡¯s right, Yuanyuan. If you hurry over to the stream, you might get to see Meng Ze onest time¡¡±
¡°That¡¯s nonsense! The Beast God will protect Meng Ze and make sure he survives!¡±
Yuanyuan knelt on the ground stubbornly.
Cain pursed his lips and said, ¡°We don¡¯t have a healer in the tribe. Since Meng Ze isn¡¯t a Divine Warrior, he is too badly injured to survive the trip to Great Eagle Tribe!¡±
Yuanyuan¡¯s eyes lit up. She hurriedly stood up and whispered something to Cain softly.
Cain¡¯s eyes glimmered a little. Although his face remained calm, Su Tang could sense that he was excited and happy.
Cain waved to the beasts, who were still standing around. ¡°It¡¯s already halfway through the rainy season, so we have to stockpile enough firewood or we won¡¯t survive winter. Everyone else who¡¯s free should collect firewood!¡±
The moment he gave the order, the remaining beasts who were standing around immediately scattered.
Cain nodded to Yuanyuan. ¡°Let¡¯s go see Meng Ze.¡±
Yuanyuan looked at Cain in gratitude. ¡°Thank you, Chief! With your help, I¡¯m sure Meng Ze will survive it!¡±
As Cain started to walk, he recalled the female he was still holding hands with!
In an instant, he did not know what to do. How could he bring her to the stream? What if she could not bear the bloody sight?
Yuanyuan instantly became anxious when she noticed that Cain stopped moving. ¡°Chief? Anything else?¡±
Cain shook his head.
Forget it. Saving Meng Ze was a priority, especially since he had just be a Divine Warrior!
If the female felt frightened by the gore, he would help cover her eyes.
After making up his mind, the three of them headed to the stream.
Meng Ze was genuinely badly injured. The injury started at the chest and nted down to the left side of his waist. The blood flowing from him had almost soaked the earth beneath him.
Su Tang instinctively frowned. If this went on, the beast might die soon from excessive blood loss.
Cain frowned too. ¡°If we can¡¯t stop the bleeding, he won¡¯t even make it out of our territory!¡±
Yuanyuan ran over and grabbed Old Nick by the arm. ¡°Old Nick, help Meng Ze stop the bleeding! If this goes on, he might end up meeting our maker!¡±
Green Fruit went up to help support Yuanyuan andforted her, ¡°Calm down. Old Nick needs to help Meng Ze stop the bleeding. Let¡¯s stand aside and wait!¡±
Yuanyuan finally noticed Old Nick holding his precious earthenware jar and quickly let go of him.
Cain went over with Su Tang.
Cain was relieved to see that the female was not afraid or ufortable.
Old Nick slightly bowed when he saw Cain. ¡°Chief, you¡¯re here!¡±
He turned to look at Su Tang standing behind Cain, and his pupils constricted slightly. He asked casually, ¡°Who is this?¡±
Cain waved his hand. ¡°She is my female. We can talkter. Help Meng Ze stop the bleeding first!¡±
Meng Ze was genuinely gravely injured. His face was increasingly pale, and he did not even have the strength to speak.
Old Nick nced at Su Tang deeply and said nothing.
Old Nick removed some soil from the earthenware jar and wanted to apply it to Meng Ze¡¯s injury.
Su Tang¡¯s eyes opened wide. When she realized what Old Nick was about to do, she shouted, ¡°No, stop¡¡±
Chapter 7
Chapter 7: A Casualty ¨C Part 3
¡°No¡¡±
Everyone was startled when Su Tang suddenly shouted!
Cain hurriedly lowered his head and asked with concern, ¡°What¡¯s wrong?¡±
Su Tang did not have time to exin. She pushed Cain¡¯s hand aside and walked up to Old Nick. When she saw the soil and broken stone in Old Nick¡¯s earthenware jar, she looked upset.
Did all the beastmen use this to staunch bleeding?
The earth was filled with so many germs. Anyone who could survive treatment without any infection could count themselves lucky!
Su Tang pointed to the soil in Old Nick¡¯s hands and pointed at Meng Ze¡¯s injuries as she gestured and struggled to tell them that their treatment method was wrong!
Old Nick looked at Su Tang and felt somewhat surprised. He turned to look at Cain. ¡°Chief, erm¡¡±
Even Cain did not know what she meant.
Su Tang squatted next to Meng Ze and checked under his eyelids. It looked good. Since his pupils were not dted, he probably only fainted from blood loss.
However, if his injuries were not handled promptly, his life might be in danger!
His injuries started from his chest and progressed to the left of his waist. Although it was not deep and the bleeding was not severe, it was not a good sign, so she had to sew him up as soon as possible!
She ced the tray on the ground, retrieved the operating tools from her pocket, andid them out on the tray neatly.
She was so nervous that her palms were sweaty.
It was her first time performing surgery on her own. Although it was just some basic suturing, it was the best she could do, considering the situation.
Also, she had some absorbable surgical suture leftover from the earlier operation. It was perfect for the wound, and it would save her the trouble of removing the suturester!
Su Tang was clueless about the astonishment she had left the beastmen in.
Yuanyuan stared in disbelief as Su Tang retrieved all kinds of strange objects from her pocket like magic.
Green Fruit looked sideways at Cain excitedly. ¡°Chief, is she a healer?¡±
Cain said nothing. He did not know whether she was a healer. However, judging from what she was doing, she was trying to save Meng Ze!
Big Bear looked at Cain and muttered, ¡°Chief, she looks so young. How could she be a healer? Take her away so that Old Nick can start treating Meng Ze¡¯s bleeding!¡±
Cain said nothing and watched quietly as Su Tang worked.
Since Su Tang was highly focused on the surgery, she automatically blocked out all distractions.
After threading the surgical sutures, she deeply inhaled before she performed suturing with the stitches closely aligned to each other.
She had already disinfected her tools before she transmigrated. Although she did not have any anesthetic, the patient had passed out, so it should be fine to go without it.
From the moment she started working on Meng Ze¡¯s injury, everyone stared.
They watched as Meng Ze¡¯s injury was closed until the blood was staunched.
Big Bear stammered as he looked at the female, ¡°She¡ she really is a healer¡¡±
Yuanyuan looked at Green Fruit in delight with tears in her eyes as she hugged Green Fruit and spoke with her voice trembling a little, ¡°She¡¯s a healer! She¡¯s a healer! There is hope for Meng Ze now!¡±
Green Fruit was equally excited. ¡°It looks like Meng Ze won¡¯t be dying today with this healer around!¡±
Chapter 8
Chapter 8: System Activation
Old Nick suddenly ced his index finger by his lips and said, ¡°Hush. You have to stay quiet when healers work.¡±
Green Fruit and Yuanyuan stopped talking out of fear they would disturb Su Tang.
A worried look swept across Cain¡¯s eyes.
Since he was the chief of the tribe and responsible for his people¡¯s well-being, he had to think ahead.
If Su Tang were just an ordinary female, no suspicion would be raised. Since she turned out to be a healer, he could not help contemting.
Healers and sages were critical for the future of any tribe!
A healer could save their people while a sage was crucial to their development!
If a tribe had both a healer and sage, it was only a matter of time before they developed into a big and powerful tribe!
Winged Tiger Tribe was only a small tribe that consisted of over 100 tribespeople. It could not even be considered a small tribe since some of its people were beastmen of other races who joined the tribe for various reasons.
In the past, the Winged Tiger Tribe barely survived. Things only started looking up after Cain took over leadership.
After all, Cain was the only Divine Warrior with awoken bloodline.
But now, he was one of two with awoken bloodline.
Yuanyuan had just told him that Meng Ze had awoken his bloodline and was now a Divine Warrior as well.
Other than the two Divine Warriors, there was nothing in their tribe worthy of attention.
Since the tribe had suppressed all news that he was a Divine Warrior, the female could not have been sent as a spy by their enemies.
From the looks of it, she honestly turned up here by ident and not because of some ruse.
Cain gradually rxed as he mulled.
As long as she was not out to harm them, he did not care about her origins.
¡
After finishing thest stitch, Su Tang cut off the remaining thread and finally exhaled.
[BEEP! You have seeded in saving a severely injured beastman. 100 points awarded! The 007 system has been sessfully activated. Wee on board!]
Su Tang raised her head quickly in shock. ¡°Who¡¯s talking?¡±
Cain went over and squatted next to Su Tang and asked softly, ¡°What¡¯s wrong?¡±
Su Tang said nothing since she did not know what Cain was saying.
Although she had an inkling of what he was saying, they couldn¡¯tmunicate!
Judging from the people around them, she was the only one who heard the voice. However, she was certain she did not imagine it. What system activation? What on earth was going on?
Her eyes looked around curiously as she scrutinized the environment and did her best to find clues.
At this very moment, she could hear the voice once more¡
[BEEP! The system has detected that you are unable tomunicate. Would you like to use 100 points to activate barrier-freemunication mode? Countdownmences 10, 9, 8¡]
Su Tang was at a loss.
Su Tang had just finished a high-stress task of sewing up Meng Ze, so when something so out of this world happened, her mind could not help going nk!
The countdown ended¡
[BEEP! The system has automatically used 100 points to redeem barrier-freemunication mode!]
What on earth just happened?
Yuanyuan felt worried as she looked at Meng Ze as hey on the ground unconscious before looking at Su Tang, who was in a daze.
¡°Chief, look at the female¡ no, wait¡ I meant the healer. What has gotten into her?¡±
Su Tang turned to look at Yuanyuan in sheer disbelief!
She¡ she could understand everything they said! She suddenly understood what they were saying!
Chapter 9
Chapter 9: System Activation ¨C Part 2
Yuanyuan made eye contact with Su Tang and felt worried. ¡°H-healer, are you okay? Is Meng Ze okay?¡±
Cain looked at Su Tang and turned to tell Yuanyuan, ¡°She doesn¡¯t understand ournguage. I think she¡¯s tired.¡±
Su Tang wondered whether she could tell him that she could now understand them.
[BEEP! You have sessfully utilized 100 points. You are now level 1. Please ept your reward!]
[BEEP! You have been rewarded with storage space worth one cubic meter and elementary survival questions: 100/100 times.]
The mechanical female voice spoke again. Su Tang had a headache, and her eyes became increasingly blurry. In the end, she could not help closing her eyes.
A second before she fell down, she assumed she would not get abandoned since she had just saved a beastman.
Su Tang had a dream.
She dreamt that she transmigrated to primeval times after being struck by a meteorite, and she encountered arge white tiger that transformed into a handsome man.
Also, she dreamt of doing sutures for a man. In the process, she activated a system called 007 and even received rewards.
Su Tangughed so hard that she woke up. What kind of bizarre dream was that?
The moment she opened her eyes, she noticed the stone roof overhead, and her smile froze¡
No, this was no dream!
She swiftly sat up in bed.
She touched the unknown furry animal skin under her before she realized she was in a cave.
The cave was very clean and minimalistic, so there was only a single stone bed with two animal skin pieces. One of them was beneath her while the other was being used as a nket over her. Other than that, there was nothing else¡
She suddenly recalled some system she activated before fainting¡ Was it not called 007 system?
She cleared her throat and said, ¡°Ahem ahem¡ where are you 007?¡±
[BEEP! Please enter your question.]
Su Tang was stunned to see a glowing blue screen suddenly pop up before her.
She nced around it.
Where was the keyboard?
How could she enter anything without a keyboard?
[BEEP! Questions can be entered using your mind! 100/99.]
Su Tang wanted to curse when she saw ¡°100/99¡± in bold behind the answer!
Was this considered a question?
Her lips twitched before she continued asking, ¡°Where am I?¡±
[BEEP! The system confirms that you are in Beast World! 100/98.]
¡°How did I end up here?¡±
[BEEP! Space-time distortion urred when the system was linked! 100/97.]
¡°Then can I go back?¡±
[BEEP! Level up to level 10 and utilize ten million points to activate a wormhole! 100/96.]
Tsk¡ Ten million points to activate a wormhole?
It certainly sounded tough.
Before a minute was through, Su Tang had already asked four questions.
From the looks of it, she couldn¡¯t return home in the short term, so her existence might hinge on these survival questions!
She could only ask questions 100 times. Would the quota get refreshed? Otherwise, she had to use them wisely!
¡°Would my quota to ask questions get refreshed?¡±
[BEEP! Elementary survival questions 100/100 daily, intermediate survival questions 10/10 per week, advanced survival questions 1/1 per month. 100/95.]
Su Tang was relieved to see this answer!
Although she did not know what to expect in the future, she felt the system was like the inte and could tell her anything, so it certainly gave her an immense sense of security!
Just as she was about to ask more, she suddenly caught sight of a silhouette at the cave entrance from the corner of her eye.
She panicked and automatically wanted to swipe the glowing blue screen aside.
007: [Sigh. She looked absolutely silly! Could she serve a different host?]
Chapter 10
Chapter 10: Yuanyuan
Yuanyuan came in with arge green leaf with several pieces of palm-sized roast meat and two bright red fruits on it.
She walked in on Su Tang, waving her hands around. After the brief shock, she happily went over. ¡°Healer, you woke up!¡±
Su Tang¡¯s arms went stiff. She smiled awkwardly at Yuanyuan. ¡°H-hello¡¡±
Yuanyuan was caught by surprise again!
¡°Healer, you canmunicate with us after all.¡±
Su Tang only realized that she was the only person capable of seeing the blue screen, judging from Yuanyuan¡¯s nonreaction.
She happily nodded and said softly, ¡°Uh-huh. Is that roast meat for me? It smells great.¡±
Yuanyuan hurriedly handed her the leaf and said reverently, ¡°Healer, this was made by the best cook in the tribe. Please have some!¡±
Su Tang took the roast meat from her awkwardly. ¡°Stop calling me that. My name is Su Tang. What¡¯s yours?¡±
¡°My name is Yuanyuan!¡±
Su Tang felt a lot more rxed. She even wondered happily if this will be the first person she befriends in this world.
¡°Stop standing. Come over and have a seat! We can share it since I can¡¯t finish it all!¡±
Su Tang moved in on the stone bed and made space for Yuanyuan as she spoke.
Yuanyuan looked shocked. ¡°Healer, this is just a snack since it isn¡¯t time to eat yet. I was worried it wasn¡¯t enough for you. Are you really unable to finish it?¡±
Su Tang instantly went quiet.
Since there was around one kilogram of meat here and two fruits that resembled apples, it was over a kilogram worth of food. Even if she was a glutton, she could not finish it all¡
Something suddenly dawned on Yuanyuan as Su Tang contemted. ¡°No wonder you are so underdeveloped! You haven¡¯t had enough meat to eat!¡±
She looked at Su Tang pitifully. ¡°Don¡¯t worry! Ever since the new chief took over, we have meat all the time other than the cold season when there¡¯s nothing to hunt! If you live in our tribe, you will certainly be bigger!¡±
Su Tang quietly looked at Yuanyuan¡¯s chest before she lowered her eyes to check hers out. Inparison, Yuanyuan was certainly more well-endowed¡
What was she thinking?
Su Tang pulled Yuanyuan¡¯s arm and gestured for her to sit down. ¡°Just call me Tangtang. I¡¯ll call you Yuanyuan, okay?¡±
Yuanyuan nodded. ¡°Certainly, Healer. Eat up before it turns cold!¡±
Su Tang went speechless: ¡°¡¡±
She was supposed to call her ¡°Tangtang,¡± but she did not do it!
She picked up a piece of meat. The food certainly smelled good!
It smelled so delicious that it made her stomach growl.
She took a bite.
Su Tang was shocked. ¡°¡¡±
Why was it so tasteless? Did beastmen not know what salt was?
Su Tang almost wanted to cry.
Yuanyuan¡¯s big, beautiful eyes glinted in anticipation as she asked, ¡°What do you think? Was it good?¡±
What else could Su Tang say? She could only nod quietly.
She ought to be thankful that they had knowledge of fire and that the meat was cooked!
Yuanyuan looked smug. ¡°I just knew you¡¯d like it! I only get to eat roast meat when I¡¯m sick. I¡¯m not allowed to eat it usually!¡±
Su Tangughed. Just as she was about to reply, a powerful husky voice came from the cave entrance.
¡°Yuanyuan, who are you talking to?¡±
Chapter 11
Chapter 11: Cain
Yuanyuan hastily stood up and smiled at Su Tang. ¡°Healer, the chief is here.¡±
Su Tang looked sideways at the cave entrance.
She wanted to see what a tribe chief from primeval times looked like.
She was dumbstruck.
The tiger was the chief.
The tiger sure was good-looking. His topless torso looked strong, his muscles were well-defined, and he had short, smooth silver hair. Su Tang blushed a little as she looked at him.
Su Tang veered her eyes away. To disguise her uneasiness, she took a big bite of roast meat!
Her cheeks were bulging as they moved, and she looked like a squirrel that was sneaking a snack.
Cain strode over with his long slender legs and arrived in front of the stone bed in a few steps.
His eyes could not help bing softer when he saw Su Tang kneeling on the stone bed doing her utmost to eat.
His eyes could not help bing softer when he saw Su Tang kneeling on the stone bed doing her utmost to eat.
Yuanyuan promptly betrayed Su Tang. ¡°Chief, the healer understands ournguage and canmunicate with us. Her name is Su Tang. Isn¡¯t it a pretty name?¡±
Su Tang swallowed the meat and stared at Yuanyuan.
Was she not her friend? How could a friend betray her so easily?
Sadly, Yuanyuan did not understand what Su Tang was trying to convey. Yuanyuan merely looked back at her innocently.
¡°Cough, cough¡¡±
Su Tang lost her breath and ended up choking on the meat!
Cain sat down next to Su Tang and patted her back gently as he told Yuanyuan, ¡°Fetch some water!¡±
Yuanyuan nodded and ran out of the cave quickly.
When Su Tang saw Yuanyuan leaving so hastily, she could not help choking even harder!
She kept coughing until tears almost came out of her eyes before she felt better.
¡°Feel better?¡±
A deep husky voice rang overhead.
Su Tang finally realized that she had unknowingly leaned into Cain¡¯s arms.
In an instant, her face flushed crimson!
She hurriedly left his embrace and exined as she stammered, ¡°I¡ I didn¡¯t mean it¡ I¡¯m sorry¡¡±
Cain¡¯s lips curved upwards slightly, and his eyes looked gentle. ¡°I¡¯m Cain. What¡¯s your name?¡±
Su Tang felt as though her face was burning. She stumbled on her words as she replied, ¡°I am Su¡ Su Tang¡¡±
Cain nodded. ¡°Su Tang. Your name sounds lovely!¡±
Su Tang went quiet.
¡°You can call me Cain, and I¡¯ll call you Su!¡±
Why did hee off sounding a little like a domineering CEO?
¡°Su, why did you go to the Dark Forest on your own? Where is your tribe?¡±
Su Tang lowered her head dejectedly and muttered, ¡°I¡ I was lost. My tribe is somewhere very far away, so it¡¯s impossible to go back now.¡±
A thought ran through Cain¡¯s head when he saw how sad she was.
Since it was impossible for her to return to her tribe, then he could openly get her to stay here!
Cain reached his hand out to stroke Su Tang on top of her head as heforted her, ¡°From now on, Winged Tiger Tribe is your home. I will always protect you and won¡¯t let you get lost.¡±
He paused before he continued, ¡°Even if you get lost, there¡¯s nothing to be afraid of. I will find you before you know it. I swear on the Beast God that I will definitely find you!¡±
A white light shed over Cain¡¯s head.
Su Tang was startled. ¡°What was that?¡±
¡°It happens when you make a binding pact with the Beast God. Shouldn¡¯t you know this already?¡±
Su Tang¡¯s eyes opened wide. She did not know what to say to the chief after he said such things. If he were not as good-looking, she would have assumed he was a hooligan and beat him up!
¡°What happens when you break your promise?¡±
Chapter 12
Chapter 12: Cain ¨C Part 2
Cain replied nonchntly, ¡°If you break the vow, the Beast God will punish you!¡±
Su Tang felt angry and anxious.
She was angry that Cain made a vow out of the blue and was anxious that he might me her when the gods punished him one day!
¡°Don¡¯t randomly make vows to the Beast God from now on, got it?¡±
Cain looked at Su Tang calmly without answering.
Was she worried about him? It felt rather good when someone showed concern over him!
Su Tang looked anxious. ¡°Did you hear me?¡±
Cain nodded. ¡°Yeah. Got it!¡±
He took everything about Su Tang seriously!
Su Tang finally heaved a sigh of relief.
¡
¡°Healer! I¡¯m here with your water.¡±
A voice could be heard before someone entered the cave.
Yuanyuan came in with a leaf filled with clean water.
¡°Drink up. I will get you more when you¡¯re done!¡±
Su Tang reached her hand out to take the leaf, but Yuanyuan dodged her.
¡°Healer, the leaf is tricky to hold. Let me hold it for you to drink!¡±.
Su Tang had no choice but to gently hold the edge of the leaf while she took sips of water.
Cain was particrly angry. ¡°Yuanyuan, have you forgotten what I told you at the stream?¡±
Yuanyuan looked at him with her big bright eyes innocently. She honestly could not remember what the chief had said.
Coldness started radiating from Cain as he spoke in an angry tone. ¡°You were supposed to hide the fact that she was the one who saved Meng Zi. Are you trying to broadcast it to the entire tribe by calling her Healer so loudly?¡±
Yuanyuan instantly realized her mistake!
She apologized, ¡°My mistake, Chief. I was too excited when I saw Healer¡ I mean Tangtang!¡±
Cain¡¯s voice sounded stiff like an emotionless machine. ¡°Don¡¯t do it again! Leave!¡±
Yuanyuan happily left the cave with the water when she heard his order.
Su Tang felt awful. All she wanted was to drink a few more sips of water¡
A look of desperation emerged on her face.
Cain turned to look at Su Tang and said in a gentler tone, ¡°Eat up before it turns cold. Just take a bite for now. I will make you more tonight!¡±
Su Tang waved her hand hurriedly. ¡°It¡¯s fine. I can¡¯t even finish this as it is, so don¡¯t bother making me more!¡±
Cain could not help frowning. ¡°You have to eat more meat. You are simply too skinny!¡±
Su Tang lowered her head to eat quietly. She had a generation gap with the people here. No one appreciated the slender body that she worked so hard to maintain!
¨s^¨t
Su Tang ate one more piece of meat before she stopped!
The roast meat was tasteless and greasy. Despite how fresh the meat was, it could not change the fact that it tasted awful!
¡°That¡¯s all?¡±
Su Tang nodded and patted her belly to indicate that she was full!
Cain frowned. He abruptly pulled Su Tang into his arms and ced his hand on her stomach.
Su Tang¡¯s face blushed for the nth time!
¡°W-what are you doing?¡±
Just as Su Tang was about to retaliate with her tiny fists, Cain let go of her!
On ount that he was a national protected animal, Su Tang decided to let him off!
¡°You barely ate anything. You need to eat more meat. Otherwise, you won¡¯t be able to make it past the cold season!¡±
Cain looked as though Su Tang would instantly die if she did not eat meat. Su Tang genuinely felt exhausted from exining herself.
She picked up the fruit on the leaf and cleaned it on her doctor¡¯s robe before she ate it to get rid of the greasy taste in her mouth.
However, Cain unexpectedly reached his hand out to stop her.
Chapter 13
Chapter 13: Cain ¨C Part 3
Cain¡¯s gentle tone suddenly sounded firm. ¡°No! You have to eat meat first before you can eat fruit!¡±
Su Tang looked at Cain indignantly. She softly spoke as though she was somewhat whining, ¡°The roast meat tastes nd, so I want to eat fruit!¡±
Cain sensed his throat go dry when he saw Su Tang act this way.
He was incapable ofing down hard on her when she looked at him with her limpid eyes.
He said powerlessly, ¡°Then you have to eat more meat tonight!¡±
Su Tang hurriedly nodded when Cain gave in.
She narrowed her eyes in bliss as she munched on the fruit.
The fruit resembled an apple but tasted like a pear. The texture of its flesh was smooth, crunchy, and juicy. It tasted particrly sweet and refreshing!
However, the fruit was huge and was asrge as two of Su Tang¡¯s fists.
After she finished one, she was incapable of going on!
She wiped her mouth sadly as she wondered what the fruit was. It certainly tasted great!
[BEEP! Would you like to use 10 points to activate scanning mode?]
[BEEP! You have insufficient points. Scanning failed!]
Su Tang nced at Cain before she finally felt relieved that she was genuinely the only person who could see the glowing blue screen.
However, she promptly sighed¡
Su Tang was such a pauper!
She considered her situation and recalled a saying from the year 2222.
She was having such a hard time!
Cain felt perplexed. The female was so happy when she ate the red fruit. Why did she suddenly look sad?
Before Cain wrapped his mind around it, Yuanyuan hurried back shortly after she left.
¡°Chief, Meng Ze woke up! Tangtang, can you go examine him now?¡±
Yuanyuan was so anxious that her eyes became red. If Cain were not in the cave, she would have ced Su Tang over her shoulder and carried her to Meng Ze.
Su Tang finally recalled she saved a beastman before she passed out!
¡°Is Meng Ze the beastman I helped earlier? Is he awake? How¡¯s he doing? Bring me over now!¡±
Since she was a doctor, she instinctively wanted to take care of the patient.
Before Su Tang¡¯s feet even touched the ground, Cain carried her up by the waist and ced her back on the stone bed.
She looked stunned and stared at Cain in bewilderment.
Despite his stiff tone, it was clear that he was worried about her. ¡°You¡¯re hurt, so you can¡¯t go over!¡±
Su Tang finally realized that Cain was talking about her fainting earlier.
It instantly made her feel warm in her heart.
The tiger was kind to show concern for her even though they wereplete strangers.
Su Tang was unaware of the thoughts Cain harbored for her. Instead, her impression of Cain improved a lot.
However, the beastman whom she had just stitched up was of a top priority now.
It was the first time she performed such a procedure on her own, let alone in such subpar conditions. She was worried that anyplications might arise, so she had to examine him now!
She patted Cain¡¯s arm around her waist, ¡°I¡¯m fine. I was too tired earlier, but I¡¯m all good after some rest!¡±
Cain was somewhat skeptical.
Su Tang passed out without warning earlier. He could still recall how terrified he felt now that he thought about it!
Yuanyuan was on the brink of tears when Cain refused to let Su Tang leave.
¡°Chief, please let her check Meng Ze now! Old Nick said Meng Ze feels warm, but the healer might know what to do!¡±
Su Tang was startled to hear this!
¡°Is he having a fever? Oh no. He must be suffering from an infection. Take me to him now! Otherwise, it might be toote!¡±
Chapter 14
Chapter 14: The ttered Old Nick
Cain stopped saying otherwise.
He carried Su Tang. ¡°I will bring you over since you aren¡¯t feeling well.¡±
Su Tang blushed as she pushed Cain¡¯s arm. ¡°It¡¯s okay. I can go on my own!¡±
Cain carried Su Tang out of the cave without saying a word.
Su Tang was about to retort, but she went quiet when Cain carried her and jumped from a five to six-meter high cliff andnded firmly on the ground.
She automatically clung on tightly to Cain¡¯s neck.
At a nce, she discovered that all the caves were located on cliffs. Some of them were even eight to ten meters high. Also, she did not see any stairs for entering the caves.
She even saw the innocent-looking Yuanyuan deftly jumping from the cave she was in andnding steadily on the ground.
Despite seeming unperturbed, the sight raised a tsunami in her heart.
Fortunately, Cain was around to carry her down. Or else¡
Beast World was simply terrifying, and she wanted to go home badly!
¡
After Cain put Su Tang down, he spotted the tears welling in her eyes and instantly became worried.
¡°Su, what¡¯s the matter? Are you sick? I¡¯ll take you back now!¡±
He wanted to take Su Tang back to the cave as he spoke.
Su Tang hurriedly stopped him.
She stammered and exined, ¡°It¡¯s not that. The sun was just too ring. I feel fine! Let¡¯s go see Meng Ze!¡±
Cain checked with Su Tang a few times. After Su Tang exined to him repeatedly, the two finally headed over to Meng Ze¡¯s cave.
Only Old Nick and Green Fruit were inside the cave.
Old Nick anxiously sat and told Green Fruit to give Meng Ze water as he kept looking out the cave entrance.
The moment he spotted Cain and Su Tang, he stood up happily.
¡°You¡¯re here! Meng Ze has a fever. What should we do about it, Healer?¡±
Su Tang felt embarrassed that an old beastman with gray hair was speaking to her so politely.
¡°My name is Su Tang. Feel free to call me that!¡±
Old Nick nced at Cain, who nodded.
Old Nick continued, ¡°Sure, Su Tang. I¡¯m Old Nick! Why don¡¯t you take a look at Meng Ze and see if there¡¯s anything you can do about his fever?¡±¡®
She went up to Meng Ze, squatted down next to him, and checked his wounds.
Sure enough, the area was red, and Meng Ze felt burning hot.
Su Tang turned to tell Cain, ¡°Mind helping me move him to the cave entrance? Since there is sun and fresh air at the entrance, the sun can help to kill germs. It will do him good!¡±
Cain nodded without hesitation. He effortlessly carried Meng Ze, who was around his size.
Su Tang sighed in surprise in her heart at how strong these beastmen were!
Old Nick boldly asked Su Tang, ¡°What do you mean by germs? Why is the sun able to kill them?¡±
¡°To put it simply, there are a lot of tiny bugs that cannot be seen on Meng Ze¡¯s wounds. These bugs can¡¯t stand the sunlight, so if we put Meng Ze in the sun, it will help kill them!¡±
Old Nick nodded and felt enlightened. ¡°I see. Thanks, Su Tang!¡±
¡°You¡¯re wee. It¡¯s nothing!¡±
[BEEP! 1 point for spreading knowledge! You now have a total of 1 point!]
Su Tang felt excited when she saw the system notification!
She had no idea she could gain points this way. Now she was eager to see more curious folks like Old Nick!
She turned to look at Old Nick with her eyes glinting.
¡°Do you have any other questions? I can answer them all!¡±
Old Nick felt extremely ttered!
¡°R-really?¡±
Chapter 15
Chapter 15: Spread Knowledge
Su Tang nodded hard. ¡°Yes, of course!¡±
She caught sight of Green Fruit feeding Meng Ze water with arge leaf through the corner of her eye.
She figured the people here did not boil their water before consumption. However, considering Meng Ze¡¯s situation, he should drink boiled water.
Since they were not in the habit of cooking, no vessels were avable.
She vaguely recalled Old Nick holding an earthenware jar in his arms.
Her eyes glinted as she recalled.
Hang on!
Where were her operating apparatus?
She looked at Old Nick anxiously. ¡°Old Nick, do you know where the tools I used on Meng Ze when I treated him are?¡±
Old Nick nodded. ¡°Chief told me to pack them up for you before we left the stream. You can ask him where they are!¡±
Su Tang heaved a sigh of relief. However, she patted her head angrily!
Look at how careless she was. She might even end up getting lost before she knew it!
She went up to the cave entrance and saw that Cain had already ced Meng Ze in a sunny spot.
He asked Su Tang, ¡°Is this okay?¡±
Su Tang nodded.
Yuanyuan hurried over breathlessly and looked at her with her eyes watery, ¡°Tangtang, how is Meng Ze? You must save him! We don¡¯t even have any kids of our own yet!¡±
The news instantly drew Su Tang¡¯s interest. It turned out Meng Ze and Yuanyuan were married.
Yuanyuan nodded hurriedly. ¡°Just say the word. I will do anything you ask!¡±
Su Tang turned to look at Old Nick and said, ¡°Old Nick, I recall you had an earthenware jar in your hands when we were at the stream. Mind lending it to me?¡±
Amid Old Nick¡¯s shock, he felt somewhat hesitant.
He brought the earthenware jar back from Beast City, and it was the only one in the tribe. No one else knew what it was or took an interest in it.
However, Su Tang was capable of identifying it right away. Also, she did not appear surprised.
The earthenware jar was rare even in Beast City!
Su Tang was a doctor. Also, judging from her clothing, she probably came from a powerful tribe. Old Nick asked hesitantly, ¡°Can you tell me what you want to do with it?¡±
Su Tang nodded. She looked around at everyone.
Cain, Yuanyuan, Old Nick, Meng Ze, and an unknown woman were in the cave.
Did this mean she would earn five points?
Su Tang happily thought as she answered, ¡°I want to use the earthenware jar to boil water for Meng Ze to drink!¡±
Green Fruit looked puzzled. ¡°But we already gave water to Meng Ze!¡±
Su Tang exined, ¡°Remember how I said there were tiny invisible bugs in Meng Ze¡¯s wounds that needed to be destroyed with the sun? They exist in the water as well, so we need to boil the water to kill them and make the water safer for drinking.¡±
¡°You should drink boiled water even if you aren¡¯t sick. It works even if you drink boiled water after it turns cool. If we drink it straight from the river, we will vomit, get stomachaches, or lose appetite!¡±
After listening to Su Tang, Yuanyuan and the others instantly looked enlightened!
¡°Oh, so this is the reason I keep getting stomachaches!¡±
¡°asionally, I will vomit my food sometime after drinking water. Then I won¡¯t be able to eat anything except fruit for a couple of days!¡±
Chapter 16
Chapter 16: Spread Knowledge ¨C Part 2
[BEEP! 9 points for spreading knowledge! You now have a total of 10 points!]
Su Tang quietly calcted in her heart and seemed to understand the scoring system.
She could get points for each new piece of knowledge she shared. No points were awarded if she shared the same information a second time with the same person.
Su Tang beamed at everyone as she said, ¡°We should boil water with fire before we drink it. Just keep boiling it until bubblese out of it. But you must be careful since it will be very hot, so you need to let it cool before you drink it! Otherwise, you will get burned!¡±
[BEEP! 5 points for spreading knowledge! You now have a total of 15 points!]
Old Nick felt excited. When he was in Beast City, the beastmen drank boiled water. However, he had no idea why they did it!
Hence, he instantly felt enlightened when Su Tang exined it!.
After joining the less civilized Winged Tiger Tribe, they did not have the conditions to allow their tribesmen to drink boiled water, so he never brought it up!
¡°Su Tang, I will lend you the jar. I¡¯ll get it now! Just give me a moment!¡±
Old Nick ran back to his cave anxiously, leaving Green Fruitughing out loud.
¡°I¡¯m Green Fruit. Yuanyuan tells me your name is Su Tang. Can I call you Tangtang too?¡±
Su Tang felt overjoyed. She blinked as she smiled and said, ¡°Certainly! Then I will call you Fruit!¡±
Yuanyuanughed and said, ¡°Tangtang, you had better call her something else. There is plenty of other beastmen named after fruits in the tribe. If you call her that, no one will know who you are calling!¡±
Su Tang slightly blushed as she said shyly, ¡°In that case, I will call you Green Fruit, okay?¡±
¡°Certainly!¡±
¡°Cough¡ Cough, cough¡¡±
Meng Ze suddenly coughed while he was getting overlooked by everyone.
Yuanyuan shouted in surprise. She squatted next to Meng Ze. ¡°Ze, are you okay?¡±
Meng Ze smiled weakly as he shook his head.
Yuanyuan raised her head and looked pitifully at Su Tang with her eyes red. ¡°Tangtang, what should we do?¡±
Su Tang scratched her head before turning to tell Green Fruit, ¡°Green Fruit, can you fetch more water from the river?¡±
Green Fruit did not ask further. She merely nodded and left the cave with the leaf in hand to fill it with more water.
Su Tang looked at her doctor¡¯s robe before she sighed.
She pulled up its hem and wanted to rip a strip of fabric off.
Even after her face flushed red, not the slightest damage was done to her robe.
She held onto the corner of the robe awkwardly and looked at Cain. ¡°Can you give me a hand?¡±
Cain nodded. He pulled the corner of her robe effortlessly and ripped a strip off!
Su Tang quietly gulped andbeled Cain a dangerous animal!
Did Cain do anything wrong?
Before long, Green Fruit came back with fresh water.
Su Tang waved to Yuanyuan and handed the fabric to her.
¡°Dip this piece of cloth in the water and use it to wipe Meng Ze¡¯s forehead, behind his ears, his palms, and soles. Also, wipe the blood around his wounds, but be careful not to touch it!¡±
Yuanyuan quickly learned under Su Tang¡¯s guidance.
Old Nick came back with the cleansed earthenware jar and had filled it with water.
Su Tang said to Green Fruit, ¡°Can you help boil the water? Old Nick and I will go out to see if there are any herbs that we can use on Meng Ze!¡±
Chapter 17
Chapter 17: Spread Knowledge ¨C Part 3
Green Fruit nodded. However, she instantly met with difficulty after taking the earthenware jar from Old Nick.
¡°Tangtang, how do I boil it?¡±
Before Su Tang replied, Old Nick hurriedly interrupted, ¡°Hang on. Let me make a stand! You can boil the water after the jar is ced on the stand!¡±
Old Nick was delighted that Su Tang was taking him out to gather herbs, so he could not wait to leave!
Green Fruit turned to look at Su Tang after she heard what Old Nick said.
She was clearly asking if Old Nick was right.
Su Tang did not know whether to cry or tough as she nodded.
However, Old Nick was so infuriated by Green Fruit that he red at her!
When they were finally ready to go, Su Tang turned to tell Yuanyuan, ¡°You must keep wiping his body until his temperature goes down. If it gets tiring, then take turns with Green Fruit. I will find the herbs that Meng Ze needs for sure, so don¡¯t worry!¡±
Yuanyuan nodded hard with a look of gratitude. ¡°I will! Thanks!¡±
Su Tang waved her hand and left the cave coolly. However, she u-turned back after she got to the cave entrance.
She went up to Cain and raised her head before she stammered sheepishly, ¡°C-can you take me down? It¡¯s too high for me¡¡±
Cain¡¯s lips curved upwards into a smile. ¡°Sure!¡±
He pulled Su Tang into his arms and leaped, nding firmly on the ground!
Wow! It was as thrilling as a roller coaster ride!
Su Tang was so excited that her cheeks flushed red. ¡°Thanks, Cain!¡±
The tiger continued to smile happily!
¡°Hey! Wait up! I¡¯m not getting any younger!¡± Old Nick slowly climbed down from the cave using some protruding rocks by the side.
Su Tang finally noticed the irregr rocks by the side of the cave. If she did not pay any attention, she probably would never have realized what they were there!
Su Tang could not help sighing. The beastmen were not that stupid after all!
Old Nick climbed down the rocks, energetically walked up to their side, and asked curiously, ¡°Where are we going to get herbs?¡±
Su Tang looked around before she pointed at the forest in the south. ¡°Where¡¯s that? Can we go there?¡±
Cain nodded. ¡°It¡¯s a safe ce to hunt since it doesn¡¯t have any ferocious animals. Most of the time, the females gather fruit there!¡±
¡°Then let¡¯s start there since it faces the sun. The herb I need grows where there is sun and tends to avoid the cold, so we might be able to find it there!¡±
Cain said nothing and held onto Su Tang¡¯s hand tightly as though he was worried she would get lost.
Old Nick followed behind them happily.
A team of females was in the process of gathering in the forest. There were five females along with three males guarding them.
All of them were delighted to see Cain, Old Nick, and Su Tang!
A female raised a red fruit and said, ¡°Chief, what brings you here? Try some of this red fruit! It¡¯s absolutely sweet!¡±
Su Tang nced at it. Was this not the fruit she just ate that looked like an apple but tasted like a pear?
So it was called red fruit!
It was certainly an apt name!
Cain neither took the fruit nor said a word. Not a shred of expression radiated from his face!
The female seemed to have already expected Cain¡¯s reaction, so she turned to look at Old Nick.
¡°Old Nick, aren¡¯t you taking care of Meng Ze? Why did youe here? Have a red fruit!¡±
Old Nick said, ¡°Only females like fruit. Males prefer to eat meat! Meat gives us strength!¡±
Chapter 18
Chapter 18: Cain¡¯s Jealousy
The female sneered, ¡°Then don¡¯t eat a single fruit during the cold season!¡±
Old Nick instantly smiled sheepishly. ¡°Since there¡¯s no meat lying around in the cold season, I naturally have to eat fruit!¡±
Red Fruit turned to look at Su Tang. She found Su Tang unfamiliar, so she asked quizzically, ¡°Who¡¯s the girl?¡±
The team was already gathering in the forest when Meng Ze was injured, so they knew that he was taken back to the tribe for treatment. However, they did not know that Cain had brought Su Tang back to the tribe.
Before Old Nick said a word, Cain interrupted, ¡°This is Su Tang. I found her in the forest. From now on, she will stay in the tribe!¡±
Red Fruit noticed that they were holding hands and smiled teasingly.
Su Tang tried to be friendly. She smiled as she greeted the other females, ¡°Hi! I¡¯m Su Tang. Nice to meet you!¡±
Her soft voice resembled that of a newborn beastman!
Since beastmen were typically candid and many of the females had kids of their own, they could not help taking a liking for Su Tang.
¡°I¡¯m Red Fruit! This is Green Grass, Yellow Fruit, Bu Sen¡¡±
Su Tang smiled and waved. ¡°Hello!¡±
Everyone was very friendly. They did not resemble the beastmen that Su Tang had read about in fiction books that were selfish and violent. Hence, she liked the ce even more!
When the males noticed no Beast Ring on Su Tang¡¯s right hand, they instantly got excited!
They energetically stood upright and wanted to get Su Tang¡¯s attention!
Since the beastmen were 1.9 meters tall on average, Su Tang was genuinely short at 1.6 meters!
The females were typically over 1.7 meters tall. Some of them were even as tall as 1.8 meters!
Hence, it was no surprise that Su Tang was mistaken for a kid!
Cain¡¯s face turned livid when he saw three males strutting around in front of Su Tang!
He yanked Su Tang away immediately!
Old Nick smiled awkwardly. ¡°Go on gathering. We are going to get some herbs for Meng Ze¡¯s treatment!¡±
After the three of them had gone far, Red Fruit chuckled as she nced at the males around them.
The three males eagerly stared in the direction that Su Tang had left and could not wait to go after her!
¡°You should just stay put. Can¡¯t you see how angry Chief is?¡±
Bu Sen asked stupidly, ¡°Why would he be angry?¡±
Yellow Fruit reached out and hit his head disappointedly. ¡°Why are you so dumb? Can¡¯t you see Chief holding her hand?¡±
Bu Sen held his head indignantly. ¡°But she isn¡¯t wearing a Beast Ring! Although she is too skinny, she is the fairest female I have ever seen!¡±
Red Fruitughed out loud and threw a freshly plucked red fruit into his arms.
¡°Can¡¯t you see him holding her hand? Bu Sen, do you want to challenge Chief?¡±
Bu Sen went quiet briefly and seemed to be contemting whether it was possible before he replied, ¡°That might just work. Even though I am no Divine Warrior, I am a pretty good fighter in the tribe!¡±
All the females shook their heads helplessly as they continued to gather fruit!
They did not have much time left since the rainy season was halfway through. Before the priest headed to Antelope Tribe to exchange for salt, he once divined that heavy rains woulde!
Only males can go out when the timees, while females will have to stay in the caves.
Chapter 19
Chapter 19: Stroking a White Tiger
Su Tang looked at the tiger bitterly from behind as she thought about her short legs and moaned how tough it was for her to survive in Beast World!
Even though the grass was short, they were half a meter tall and were up to her thighs.
If she was not careful, she might end up spraining her ankle if she tripped in any vines or rocks!
¡°Slow down. I can¡¯t keep up.¡±
Cain immediately stopped when he heard Su Tang¡¯s voice!
Su Tang was unable to stop in time, so she walked right into Cain¡¯s muscr back.
¡°Ahhh¡¡±
She covered her sore nose with tears automatically brimming in her eyes.
Cain was startled. ¡°Su, are you okay?¡±
Su Tang waved her hand as she rubbed her nose gently. ¡°I¡¯m fine. It was my fault. Let¡¯s look around! We might be able to find it here!¡±
Old Nick came chasing energetically.
¡°Su Tang, what does the herb look like? I will help find it!¡±
Su Tang nodded as she gestured and said, ¡°I need goldenrod, also known as wild yellow chrysanthemum. It¡¯s roughly so tall, and its stems are woody and purple-brown. Clusters typically appear at the bottom, and they rarelye singly. Its flowers are round while the tips of the petals fold inwards.¡±
Old Nick contemted as he nodded.
¡°What can we use goldenrod for? Is it for Meng Ze¡¯s fever?¡±
¡°There are a variety of uses for goldenrod. It can be used to cure bitterness in the mouth, dryness in the throat, giddiness, overheating, or chills. Just boil its stems and leaves in three bowls of water until there is only one bowl left and drink it.¡±
Old Nick learned a lot from Su Tang. He stroked his goatee while he walked around the forest looking for goldenrod!
[BEEP! 2 points for spreading knowledge! You now have a total of 17 points!]
Just as Su Tang was talking, the glowing blue screen popped out without warning, frightened her!
Su Tang: [007, can notifications be hidden?]
[BEEP! All notifications are now hidden. Passive mode activated, so the system will only appear on demand!]
Su Tang nodded satisfactorily. It seemed the system was rather user-friendly.
After sorting out the system, Su Tang started walking around in the parts of the forest with a lot of sun. Since goldenrod preferred the sun, there was a higher chance of finding them here!
Cain said abruptly, ¡°I¡¯ve seen it before!¡±
¡°Huh?¡± Su Tang was initially at a loss.
Hence, Cain exined, ¡°That herb you were talking about. I have seen it before!¡±
Su Tang was instantly excited. ¡°Where have you seen it? Take me there!¡±
¡°It¡¯s a little far. I will carry you there!¡±
Cain squatted down. White light shed, and he transformed into a white tiger with ck stripes!
Even though Su Tang had already seen him doing this, her heart could not help palpitating in shock!
This tiger was certainly beautiful!
He had bright smooth fur, well-defined muscles, and powerful limbs. Su Tang finally realized why Cain¡¯s hair was silver!
He must be one of the four great beasts back home, a white tiger!
Su Tang was dying to stroke him!
But a voice in her heart kept warning her that he was a national protected animal! She could not stroke him no matter what!
She struggled to keep her hands away.
Cain immediately realized that the female liked his animal form a lot!
Hence¡
Therge tiger walked up beside Su Tang elegantly and rubbed his head inside Su Tang¡¯s arms. His big bright watery eyes were so cute that Su Tang¡¯s heart almost turned to mush!
Chapter 20
Chapter 20: Stroking a White Tiger ¨C Part 2
¡°Aww¡¡± Su Tang shouted excitedly.
Su Tang brushed aside all restraint!
She held the tiger¡¯s huge head and stroked it repeatedly!
It felt better than she thought!
She stroked the tiger¡¯s chin like she was stroking a dog.
Therge tiger narrowed his eyes and groaned in satisfaction.
After a long time¡
Su Tang graduallyposed herself and removed her treacherous hands before she coughed a couple of times awkwardly.
The tiger even swung his tail somewhat unhappily.
¡°Should I ride on your back?¡± asked Su Tang cautiously with a hint of excitement!
Cain raised his head and roared softly.
Su Tang walked up beside the white tiger happily, but¡
It was all the tiger¡¯s fault for being so tall and must have nothing to do with her short legs!
She looked at the white tiger sadly and said softly, ¡°Cain, I can¡¯t get on.¡±
The tiger turned back and eyed Su Tang¡¯s height before he looked at himself. He paused for a second andy on the ground.
Su Tang was so angry that her face turned red!
She was certain the stupid tiger was teasing her for being short!
He was so mean!
She sat on the tiger¡¯s back sulkily and grabbed the fur on both sides of his neck!
But the moment he stood up, Su Tang swayed so hard that she almost fell!
She was so startled that she lowered her body to lie prone on his back almost entirely!
This was much better!
The tiger ran steadily and did not jolt her around. It felt great to lie on the tiger¡¯s furry back!
Just as Su Tang was about to fall asleep, the tiger stopped finally.
ROAR!
They were there!
Su Tang shivered. She lost all her drowsiness when she saw a bush of huge goldenrod in front of her!
She slid off the tiger¡¯s back and walked up to the goldenrod in disbelief.
She could not help sighing in shock, ¡°Wow! Is this the same goldenrod that I know? Why is it so big?¡±
Su Tang remembered how the orphanage director would take her to the mountain to find goldenrod when they did not have medicine for any kids who fell ill.
Since the orphanage director was a fine Chinese physician, Su Tang learned all her Chinese medicine knowledge from her!
In her memory, goldenrod was typically 20 to 50 centimeters tall.
However, the bush of goldenrod in front of her was as tall as a small tree!
It was almost over 2 meters tall. If not for its familiar scent, she might not have thought it was goldenrod!
Did this goldenrod get mutated?
Cain transformed into his human form and walked up to Su Tang. Amid her shock, he asked, ¡°Is this it?¡±
Even Su Tang was unsure.
¡°Erm¡ Hang on. Let me double-check. Since we are using it to treat Meng Ze, we have to take it seriously!¡±
How was she going to confirm this?
She had to ask the system, of course!
Su Tang: [007, is this goldenrod?]
[BEEP! You need to activate scanning mode to find out. Would you like to utilize ten points to activate it?]
Su Tang looked at her remaining points. She still had 17 points.
Considering how she could use it permanently after activation, she gritted her teeth and activated it!
[BEEP! You have utilized ten points to activate scanning mode. Please scan your item!]
Chapter 21
Chapter 21: Stupid System!
Su Tang looked at therge bright screen in front of her, adjusted the angle slightly, and pointed the screen at the huge goldenrod.
[BEEP! Information about scanned item retrieved. Do you want to utilize one point to find out?]
Su Tang stared at the messagepletely stunned and was incapable of calming herself.
What the hell?
Did she just spend ten points purely to activate a new function?
She was so infuriated that she almost exploded!
This stupid system!
She gritted her teeth and selected ¡°yes.¡±
Cain was at a loss.
One moment, the female looked reluctant. One moment, she looked furious. However, there was no one else here other than them!
He was a level three Divine Warrior, so unless the warrior was of a higher level than him, it was impossible for them to hide.
The female was an exception, and he could not detect what race she was. However, he adored her scent!
¡
Su Tang gritted her teeth and utilized another point. She felt upset about spending the points!
Fortunately, her efforts paid off!
[BEEP! This is goldenrod. It tastes spicy and bitter. It thrives in a warm environment. It can be used for colds, fevers, alternating heat and cold, irregr periods¡]
She looked at the information and found that it resembled the goldenrod she learned about in the past!
She rolled up her sleeves and squatted next to a smaller goldenrod, and started to dig.
Cain hurriedly pulled Su Tang up. ¡°Allow me!¡±
Su Tang did not oppose. She nodded and said, ¡°Be sure to dig up its roots. I need them!¡±
Cain replied, ¡°Sure!¡±
¡°I want to see if there is anything else we can use. Call me when you¡¯re done digging!¡±
Cain¡¯s motions paused. He checked the vicinity with his acute senses and detected no threat, so he did not stop her.
However, he said worriedly, ¡°Okay! The forest is dangerous, so don¡¯t go too far!¡±
Su Tang was aware of the dangers in the forest. If she did not spot some familiar nts, she would have stuck right next to Cain!
After all, she treasured her life!
She walked about 10 meters away from Cain and remained in his view.
Su Tang studied the old tree in front of her. These primeval trees were simply huge! It would take five to six men to encircle the tree with their arms!
Spiky balls roughly 15 centimeters in diameter hung densely from the branches. One of the branches even broke and fell onto the ground as there were too many fruits.
Su Tang walked up and plucked one cautiously. She was delighted to see that they were chestnuts!
She ran back to Cain with the spiky ball in hand and said, ¡°Guess what I found, Cain?¡±
Cain frowned and removed the spiky ball from Su Tang¡¯s hand before he tossed itpletely out of sight!
Su Tang was dumbstruck: ¡°???¡±
She was at aplete loss.
¡°Why did you do that?¡±
Cain grabbed Su Tang¡¯s hand and checked that she did not hurt her hands before he stopped frowning.
¡°Thorny fruit is dangerous. You might get hurt from going too close!¡±
At first, Su Tang was displeased. However, her fury instantly dissipated when she heard what the tiger said.
She was not unreasonable in nature. Since the tiger was showing concern, she should not get angry!
Su Tang shook her head helplessly. She took Cain¡¯s hand and led him to the chestnut tree!
¡°Thorny fruit isn¡¯t dangerous. You can even eat it, and it tastes great.¡±
Cain looked at Su Tang suspiciously. Su Tang was determined to prove him wrong!
Chapter 22
Chapter 22: Discovering Chestnuts
Su Tang plucked another spiky ball from the tree. Just as Cain was about to grab it and throw it away, Su Tang threw it on the ground!
Since the chestnut was ripe, it instantly split open!
Big round chestnuts were instantly revealed!
¡°Wow! Look at how huge the chestnuts are! They look absolutely yummy!¡±
Su Tang squatted down happily and picked up the chestnuts on the ground.
Although Cain was surprised that the thorny fruit would split open, he felt it could not possibly taste good!
Since the female looked so happy, he did not say otherwise!
Cain left Su Tang to pluck the fruit and went back to digging the herbs!
¡
In about two minutes, Su Tang¡¯s pockets were filled with chestnuts.
Su Tang looked at the fruit hanging on the branches and felt sad that she could not pick more. She had no choice since there was limited space in her pockets, and the chestnuts were rather heavy!
If only she had a bag, then she could get Cain to help carry it!
Hmm? Hang on!
She seemed to be forgetting something here!
Oh yes, she had a storage space!
She was awarded a storage space when she activated barrier-freemunication mode!
Su Tang furtively nced at Cain, who was concentrating on digging herbs, before she ced her hand on her pockets full of chestnuts.
She said in her heart quietly: [007, move the chestnuts into my storage space!]
In a second, Su Tang¡¯s pockets went light. Sure enough, the chestnuts disappeared!
Su Tang kept happily filling her storage space with chestnuts like crazy!
She went on until her space was filled to the brim and satisfactorily stopped when both her pockets were full!
She was as happy as a hamster who had just collected a lot of food.
Since Su Tang did not specify how much goldenrod to pick, Cain had already dug up all the herbs here while she was picking chestnuts!
Including the two-meter tall goldenrod, which was the size of a small tree!
Su Tang felt bad!
Herbs were delicate nts and died easily.
But she ought to be in time to save them!
She hurriedly told Cain to cover the roots of thergest goldenrod with soil and nned on nting it in the tribe so that they could have easy ess to it!
Cain suddenly noticed the chestnut shells lying nearby all over the ground when they were about to leave.
It felt odd since Su Tang¡¯s pockets were not that big.
However, Cain said nothing. He knew that she had secrets just like him.
¡
Su Tang had no idea that she had already blown her cover as she sat on Cain¡¯s back with a bundle of goldenrod.
Something suddenly felt different, and she lowered her head to see the tiger¡¯s wings!
That was odd. She did not see any wings on his back earlier.
She certainly had to examine them closer when they went back to the tribe!
The tiger lifted the bigger goldenrod with his mouth, and the two of them flew into the air!
He did not go too high and only flew above the canopy. From a distance, it looked like he was running over the treetops.
Su Tang had a great time enjoying the wind!
Green Fruit anxiously ran over when they returned to the tribe. From the looks of it, she had been waiting for them for a long time.
¡°Tangtang, Meng Ze¡¯s temperature decreased a little, but he is still very warm, and he keeps saying he¡¯s cold. What should we do?¡±
Su Tang jumped off the tiger¡¯s back nimbly and waved the goldenrod in her hands as she said, ¡°Calm down. We have found the herbs we need!¡±
Cain put down therge goldenrod and changed into human form.
He carried Su Tang before running to Meng Ze¡¯s cave.
Chapter 23
Chapter 23: Meng Ze
Cain carried Su Tang before he hurried over to Meng Ze¡¯s cave.
He exined with a straight face, ¡°It¡¯s faster if I take you!¡±
Su Tang curled up in Cain¡¯s arms obediently with her face blushing crimson!
She kept telling herself that he was only trying to save his tribesmen and not to overthink it!
¡
In two breaths, they arrived at Meng Ze¡¯s cave.
Yuanyuan was instantly delighted to see them as she wiped Meng Ze¡¯s body!
¡°Tangtang, take a look at Meng Ze. I have been wiping him nonstop, but he still feels warm!¡±
Cain put Su Tang down unhurriedly.
¡°Cain, can you wash the herbs quickly?¡±
After Cain left with the herbs, Su Tang examined Meng Ze.
His situation was the same, and he was suffering a fever due to an infection.
She was unable to find any anti-inmmation herbs in the forest, but it was a top priority to lower the fever, so she hurried back first.
Su Tang saw the worried look in Yuanyuan¡¯s eyes, who did not want to disturb her, and smiled as she consoled her.
¡°It¡¯s fine! Let¡¯s lower his temperature first. I promise Meng Ze will be fine, okay?¡±
Yuanyuan nodded hard. ¡°Okay. Tangtang, I trust you!¡±
However, tears trickled down her face as she spoke!
Meng Ze raised his hand weakly and wiped the tears on Yuanyuan¡¯s face. ¡°Don¡¯t cry. I¡¯m fine!¡±
Yuanyuan cried even harder!
¡°Meng Ze, I¡¯m so scared! Don¡¯t die! I promise to be good from now on!¡±
Meng Ze gritted his teeth and raised his hand to pat Yuanyuan¡¯s head. ¡°Didn¡¯t you promise to be good? Then stop crying. The moment you cry, my wounds hurt!¡±
Su Tang felt like crying too. She inhaled deeply and said, ¡°Don¡¯t cry, Yuanyuan. If your tears fall onto the wound, it will worsen his condition!¡±
Yuanyuan instantly stopped crying.
¡°Okay! I won¡¯t cry! I¡¯ll stop crying!¡±
Su Tang sighed as she stood up and poured all the chestnuts from her pockets before handing the white robe to Yuanyuan.
¡°Yuanyuan, can you wash this? We are going to use it to bandage Meng Ze¡¯s woundster!¡±
Yuanyuan was stunned and felt hesitant.
¡°But this belongs to you¡¡±
Su Tang waved her hand nonchntly. ¡°It¡¯s fine. Go on. If we don¡¯t have clean bandages for his wounds, he won¡¯t be able to recover.¡±
Yuanyuan sniffled and said, ¡°Okay! Don¡¯t worry, Tangtang! After Meng Ze recovers, I will get him to hunt a few firefoxes so that you can have the fur!¡±
Su Tang sweetly smiled as she said, ¡°Okay! Go on! After you wash it, dry it next to some fire. We can only use it when it¡¯s dry!¡±
After Yuanyuan left, only Su Tang and Meng Ze remained in the cave.
¡°S-Su Tang, are you a healer?¡±
Su Tang nodded. ¡°Uh-huh. Kind of. I learned medicine, but you are my first patient!¡±
Meng Zey with his head tilted. His face was unusually red due to his fever.
¡°We don¡¯t have a healer in the tribe. Although I don¡¯t know how you ended up here, our tribe will treat you well. Can you stay?¡±
Su Tang understood Meng Ze¡¯s concerns even though she was new in town.
She nodded and said, ¡°Don¡¯t worry. I¡¯m lost, so I can¡¯t go back to my tribe. I will probably stay here from now on!¡±
Meng Ze seemed to detect Su Tang¡¯s sadness, so he consoled her gently, ¡°Our tribesmen are very kind, so don¡¯t worry!¡±
Chapter 24
Chapter 24: Chestnuts¡¯ Temptation
Meng Ze inhaled in pain after talking.
Su Tang was aware of his kind intentions. She hurriedly interrupted, ¡°Don¡¯t talk so much. Since there isn¡¯t any anesthetic here, your wounds will hurt a lot!¡±
Meng Ze shook his head and looked like he had more to say.
Since he did not continue, Su Tang turned a blind eye.
The water in the earthenware jar had started boiling, so she rolled up arge leaf into a cone and cautiously filled it with water to cool.
After a long silence, Meng Ze finally asked, ¡°Healer, I am badly injured. Am I going to die?¡±
Su Tang did not know whether to cry or tough.
¡°Of course not. You just need to rest and get some nourishment. Then you will recover in no time!¡±
Meng Ze¡¯s eyes glinted. He pursed his dry cracking lips. ¡°Thank you!¡±
Su Tang smiled quietly.
After the water cooled down a little, she released the funnel a little and let the water flow into Meng Ze¡¯s mouth.
¡°When Yuanyuanes back, she can give you water by using a funnel. Since you have a fever, you need to replenish your fluids!¡±
¡°Got it!¡±
Su Tang examined the leaf in her hand curiously. It resembled a banana leaf but was a lot stronger!
It did not show any signs of turning soft even with the hot water inside, so it was pretty useful!
[BEEP! Information about item retrieved. Do you want to utilize one point to find out?]
Su Tang red angrily!
She decisively picked ¡°no¡±!
She gave Meng Ze more water before Cain came back after washing the goldenrod.
Su Tang took some of the stems and leaves and ced them in the earthenware jar before telling Cain to watch the fire.
She broke the unused goldenrod into small sections.
Then she took therge leaves in the cave andy them outside under the sun before cing the sections of goldenrod on the ground to dry them for storage!
After she was done, the sweet scent of the goldenrod made Su Tang a little hungry.
She retrieved five or six chestnuts and went up to Cain and chuckled before throwing them into the fire.
¡°Cain, are you hungry! Let me make you some chestnuts.¡±
Cain replied candidly, ¡°No, I¡¯m good!¡±
Since Su Tang would get to eat delicious chestnuts very soon, she was in a good mood and did not get upset with Cain!
¡°Then don¡¯t take a single one when I am done roasting them!¡±
¡°Okay!¡±
Su Tang sneered unhappily.
The tiger was so serious!
Su Tang stopped Cain from adding firewood after most of the water in the earthenware jar had boiled away!
Su Tang put out the fire and waited for the jar to cool before telling Cain to give Meng Ze the medicine using a funnel-like instrument she created.
After Cain removed the earthenware jar, she eagerly retrieved two skinnier branches from the fire.
Su Tang dug out the chestnuts from the fire using the branches and left them to cool.
She picked up a rock in the cave and used it to hit a chestnut, now ck from roasting, and smashed it!
The chestnut shell split open crisply!
Su Tang could not be bothered by the heat with the faint scent of the chestnut wafting in the air. The moment she peeled it open, hot vapor escaped from the chestnut.
Its yellow flesh appeared even more delectable in contrast to its dark shell!
She blew it a couple of times before cing it into her mouth.
In an instant, Su Tang narrowed her eyes and beamed in satisfaction. She looked so adorable that Cain stared fixedly at her.
Since the chestnut was well-cooked, its texture was soft and buttery and smelled fragrant!
Chapter 25
Chapter 25: Chestnuts¡¯ Temptation ¨C Part 2
The chestnuts were the size of an egg, so Su Tang became full after having three!
She had yet to digest all that meat she had for lunch, so she was not really hungry and merely wanted a snack!
Su Tang sighed as she looked at the three remaining chestnuts.
She used a rock to smash a chestnut, and its shell opened with a crack.
Su Tang went next to Cain with her eyes glinting like she was offering a treasure. ¡°Have some.¡±
Just as Cain was about to turn her down, he automatically gulped when he saw the earnest look in Su Tang¡¯s eyes.
Su Tang secretly smiled at the sight, poured some chestnut onto her palm, and ced it by Cain¡¯s mouth.
Having some germs in the food can help strengthen our immune system.
¡°I know you want it! Why don¡¯t you have some for yourself and see how great they taste?¡±
Before Cain knew what he was doing, he licked Su Tang¡¯s palm and ate the chestnut from her hand.
After tasting the chestnut, he was stunned. The warm chestnut genuinely tasted great!
When Su Tang sensed his soft tongue on her palm, she pulled her hand back as though it were electrified. Her face swiftly flushed crimson.
She hurried back to the fire to disguise her awkwardness and said loudly, ¡°Meng Ze, don¡¯t worry. You can have some too! I will peel one for you now!¡±
¡°Thanks!¡±
In reality, Meng Ze was dreadfully curious about chestnuts!
When Su Tang first ate the chestnut, the scent had wafted through the air. Now that he was a Divine Warrior, his sense of smell became sharper!
Even though he was partial to meat, he could not help developing an interest in chestnuts!
Hence, he could only watch on powerlessly as Su Tang fed Cain some chestnut.
Fortunately, Su Tang did not forget about him!
Su Tang was the best! After he recovered, he had to give her a lot of meat in gratitude!
As Meng Zey on the ground and waited happily for the food toe, he suddenly caught sight of the Chief¡¯s deathly stares!
Cain asked, ¡°Su, can Meng Ze eat his if he¡¯s sick?¡±
Su Tang replied, ¡°It¡¯s perfectly fine for him to eat it!¡±
Cain could not bear to throw a temper on Su Tang, so he looked at Meng Ze unhappily.
He found the sight of Meng Ze annoying!
His face looked stern as he red at Meng Ze angrily. ¡°Do you want some?¡±
Meng Ze felt sad for himself!
What should he say?
As Cain stared daggers at Meng Ze icily, Meng Ze said meekly, ¡°I¡¯ll pass!¡±
Su Tang felt sorry that the chestnuts would go to waste. ¡°But chestnuts are yummy and make great sustenance. Are you sure you don¡¯t want to give it a try?¡±
Meng Ze turned his head away sadly. ¡°Nope. I have no appetite!¡±
Su Tang sighed and muttered, ¡°But I can¡¯t finish it either¡¡±
Cain¡¯s ears pricked before he said with a straight face, ¡°We certainly can¡¯t let food go to waste. Why don¡¯t I eat it instead?¡±
He tantly stared at Su Tang¡¯s hand with a burning look in his eyes as though it were some delicacy!
Su Tang suddenly recalled the embarrassing situation, so she took a leaf and ced the chestnuts on it before handing it to Cain.
¡°Here!¡±
Cain felt somewhat disappointed that she was not going to feed him this time!
¡°What¡¯s that smell? It smells great!¡± Yuanyuan¡¯s voice came from outside the cave. ¡°Hurry up, Old Nick!¡±
¡°Hey! Yuanyuan, help me out with this!¡±
¡°No! You are so dirty. Don¡¯t get my freshly washedundry soiled!¡±
Chapter 26
Chapter 26: Chestnuts¡¯ Temptation ¨C Part 3
Yuanyuan was already done drying Su Tang¡¯s white robe and brought it to Su Tang happily.
¡°Tangtang, I finished washing your robe! What¡¯s that you have? It smells great!¡±
Su Tang took her robe and gave Yuanyuan a chestnut.
¡°This is called a chestnut. It¡¯s very yummy, and you can find it in the forest. Go on and try some!¡±
Yuanyuan instantly sumbed to the sweet, soft, and fragrant chestnut.
Yuanyuan¡¯s eyes opened wide. ¡°It¡¯s super yummy! This is great! Why didn¡¯t we know about such delicious food?¡±
Su Tang covered her mouth as sheughed secretly. ¡°Cain calls it thorny fruit, but in my tribe, we call it chestnut!¡±
Yuanyuan was stunned once more!
¡°Huh? Is this thorny fruit?¡±
¡°A young boy once got smashed by thorny fruit on the head and lost a lot of blood. Since we didn¡¯t have a healer, he died before long¡¡±
¡°From then on, we stayed far, far away from thorny fruit out of fear more people would get hurt¡¡±
Yuanyuan was particrly sad as the poor young beast she was talking about was her little brother.
Su Tang patted Yuanyuan¡¯s shoulder and said, ¡°It¡¯s true that the thorns outside the chestnuts are dangerous, but they be less hard after they ripen and turn dark brown! Even though it hurts to get struck by one, no bleeding will ur.¡±
¡°Also, it can be stored for a long time, taste good, and make good sustenance. If you are worried about anyone getting hurt, just focus on the kids and tell them to stay away from them!¡±
Yuanyuan nodded distractedly.
Cain suddenly asked, ¡°Su, can chestnuts be stored for a long time?¡±
Su Tang contemted before she replied, ¡°Uh-huh. There are few ways they can be stored long-term. In this environment, you can store them in the sand or dry them!
¡°For the first method, you need to pick a good spot and bury the chestnuts in the sand. As for the second method, you need to dry them before cing them in a dry and well-ventted ce.
A faint look of excitement appeared in Cain¡¯s eyes. He continued asking, ¡°How long can they be stored? Does this apply to all other fruits as well?¡±
¡°Nope!¡± Su Tang promptly turned into a science teacher and shared her knowledge. ¡°Since chestnuts are nuts, these methods work for them. They will have a shelf-life of about six months. If they are stored for too long, they will lose nutrition value!¡±
¡°By other fruits, are you talking about things like red fruit? Fresh fruit can¡¯t be stored long term, but they can be made into dried fruit or jam.¡±
Everyone felt moved and thrilled after they heard what Su Tang said.
Yuanyuan even shouted excitedly, ¡°That¡¯s wonderful! If they can be stored long-term, we won¡¯t have to worry about going hungry in the cold season! None of the old beastmen will have to leave the tribe either!¡±
Old Nick was so excited that he tossed some unknown nts in his hands onto the ground as he trembled and wanted to hold Su Tang.
¡°Su Tang, please teach us how to store food. Everyone in the tribe would be grateful if you could!¡±
Su Tang was startled by their reaction!
In the past, the plotline of beast world stories revolved around the male and female leads¡¯ rtionship and how the female lead fought off other women.
But judging from their reaction, it sounded like people died in the cold season.
Su Tang was a little stunned.
Fortunately, Cain was still capable of remaining calm. He stopped Old Nick¡¯s grubby hands before Old Nick touched Su Tang.
Chapter 27
Chapter 27: Exposed!
Fortunately, Cain was still capable of remaining calm. He stopped Old Nick¡¯s grubby hands before Old Nick touched Su Tang.
He asked calmly, ¡°What do you mean by half a year?¡±
Su Tang pointed at the sun as she said, ¡°Each sunrise and sunset is equal to one day. Thirty days is equal to one month. Twelve months is equal to one year.¡±
Cain realized what she meant while everyone remained dumbstruck.
¡°So half a year is six months and 180 days!¡±
Su Tang pped happily. ¡°Uh-huh! That¡¯s right!¡±
Cain¡¯s following words went against Su Tang¡¯s understanding of the world.
¡°The cold seasonsts 180 days too. If we store a lot of chestnuts and some meat before the rainy season is over, we won¡¯t have to go hungry during the cold season!¡±
Su Tang was a little lost!
What did he mean when he said the cold season was 180 days?
If she was not mistaken, the cold season ought to be winter!
She hurriedly interrupted, ¡°Hang on! Are there only two seasons here?¡±
Everyone looked confused and did not understand what Su Tang meant!
Cain paused before he realized what she was asking and replied, ¡°We have four seasons in total when it¡¯s warm, hot, rainy, and cold. Each seasonsts 180 days.¡±
Su Tang clutched the clothing at her chest tightly and looked bewildered.
¡°Is it different for your tribe?¡±
Su Tang was at a loss for a moment.
¡°Of course not. Do you know what a year is? Each year consists of a cycle of seasons from the warm to cold seasons! Each season is about three months, and there are 12 months in a year!¡±
Cain frowned. ¡°So that means half a year is only one season here!¡±
Su Tang nodded.
Yuanyuan waspletely confused until she heard what Cain said and asked quizzically, ¡°Tangtang, the seasons throughout Beast World are the same. Why is your tribe different?¡±
Su Tang nervously swallowed when Yuanyuan looked at her quizzically.
Oh no! She made a mistake!
Was she not tantly saying that she was not from Beast World?
Su Tang instantly felt anxious!
Before she coulde up with an answer, she could hear Meng Ze coughing.
¡°Cough, cough¡ Yuanyuan, I want a drink!¡±
Yuanyuan promptly turned her attention to Meng Ze.
Yuanyuan looked at the empty earthenware jar with some remnants of goldenrod inside. She asked Su Tang, ¡°I¡¯m going to get Meng Ze more water. Do you still want this?¡±
Su Tang shook her head a little anxiously. ¡°N-no, I don¡¯t¡¡±
Yuanyuan did not detect anything amiss. Instead, she nodded before she brought the earthenware jar to the river.
Su Tang shrank her head meekly and did not dare even to breathe hard.
Cain nced at Old Nick, who instantly caught his drift.
He picked up a bundle of herbs he tossed aside in excitement earlier and said, ¡°Su Tang, this is what I found. Is there any goldenrod here?¡±
Su Tang raised her head and looked at Cain and Meng Ze furtively. They looked normal and did not feel suspicious of her after hearing what Yuanyuan said.
She exhaled in relief before she studied the nts resembling weeds that Old Nick brought back.
Su Tang failed to detect the thoughtful look in Cain¡¯s cat-like eyes when she lowered her head.
She did not bear much hope when she looked at it but surprisingly found something useful among the weeds.
Chapter 28
Chapter 28: A Surprising Find
Su Tang carefully pulled out a nt that looked a little wilted.
Old Nick muttered, ¡°Hmm? Why is there a piece of grass in there? I must have identally dug it up along with the herbs. Let me toss it out!¡±
Su Tang quickly dodged Old Nick.
She exined, ¡°Old Nick, this herb can be used to stop inmmation and bleeding! Where did you find it?¡±
Old Nick looked with his eyes wide in surprise. ¡°Isn¡¯t it just some weed?¡±
¡°This is ink grass. It¡¯s a prettymon herb used for preventing inmmation and bleeding. After mashing it up, it can be applied to the injury! Since it¡¯s very effective at staunching bleeding and inmmation, it can be used on patients who suffer from a fever after getting hurt!¡±
Old Nick kept stroking his gray goatee as he said with fear lingering in his heart, ¡°I¡¯m so d I didn¡¯t toss it out! Are there any other herbs in there?¡±
Su Tang set aside the ink grass. She carefully checked the bundle of weeds before she shook her head disappointedly.
¡°That¡¯s all. That¡¯s the only medicinal herb in there. Do you remember where it came from? This herb is very useful. It can be pounded into powder form for storage. You can take it with you when you hunt and scatter it over your wounds to staunch bleeding when you are hurt!¡±
Before Su Tang finished what she was saying, Old Nick headed out as he said, ¡°I will go back and find more!¡±
Yuanyuan happened to return with water.
Su Tang used the water in the earthenware jar to wash the ink grass before rinsing her hands with the rest of the water.
Yuanyuan went out with the empty jar to fetch more water from the river.
She handed Cain the ink grass and asked nicely, ¡°Can you chew this up?¡±
Cain put the herb into his mouth without hesitation.
Su Tang smiled mischievously.
Since Cain always looked so serious and expressionless, Su Tang could not help wanting to tease him. Ink grass was one of the most bitter herbs out there!
However, Cain had already spat the herbs out without even batting an eye.
Su Tang could not help suspecting she made a mistake about the ink grass. Was it not ink grass?
She quickly ced a little ink grass into her mouth and chewed it. The familiar bitter taste quickly spread throughout her mouth.
¡°gh!¡±
Su Tang looked at Cain angrily. ¡°Isn¡¯t it bitter?¡±
Cain shook her head. ¡°Nope!¡±
Su Tang was dumbstruck: ¡°¡¡±
Did she just shoot herself in the foot?
¡°How do we use this?¡± Cain pointed at the medicinal paste in his hand.
Su Tang stopped teasing him and rolled her sleeves up as she said, ¡°Give them to me! Chew more!¡±
She applied the medicinal herb paste evenly on Meng Ze¡¯s wounds. ¡°This might hurt a little, so bear with it!¡±
Meng Ze nodded slightly.
The herb was just enough to apply on all of Meng Ze¡¯s wounds!
She used her white robe to bandage Meng Ze¡¯s wounds before she looked at the setting sun and said to Cain, ¡°Can you carry Meng Ze back into the cave? It¡¯s getting a little cold. Now that he has taken medicine, just cover him with animal skin and let him have some rest. His fever will subside after he breaks a sweat!¡±
¡°Okay!¡±
After Cain carried Meng Ze back to the cave, Su Tang could not helpughing out loud.
Since Cain had helped to chew up many herbs, his teeth and lips had a dark green stain and made him look hrious!
¡°Cain, the sun is about to set. Let¡¯s hurry over to the river and clean up, orr else, the herb stains won¡¯te off!¡±
¡°Okay!¡±
Chapter 29
Chapter 29: A Surprising Find Part 2
Cain started a fire before leaving so that Yuanyuan could use it to boil water with the earthenware jar when she came back.
The two quickly washed up by the river before it turned dark.
Su Tang was introduced to a new nt that was approximately two centimeters thick and roughly the size of a coin.
It was filled with a lot of gtinous fluid and was excellent for maintaining oral hygiene.
Cain surprisingly did not know what it was called when she asked.
By the time they made it back to the tribe, it waspletely dark. Su Tang was dressed only in a T-shirt and leggings, so it felt a little chilly.
Fortunately, a bonfire was made on the empty space in front of the cliff. The entire Winged Tiger Tribe had circled the fire as they chatted happily.
Yuanyuan waved at Su Tang when she spotted her. ¡°Tangtang, over here!¡±
¡°Tangtang, I brought the chestnuts over too. Can we eat them?¡±
Su Tang nodded and said generously, ¡°Certainly! There isn¡¯t much, so everyone can only get a taste!¡±
Cain told the two beastmen beside him to give out the raw chestnuts. Since there was not enough to go around, they were given to the female beastmen and the young first.
She had already roasted six of them, so there were slightly over a dozen left.
There were already five to six females and three young beastmen sitting near them, so not many males would have a chance to try the chestnuts.
However, the males seemed disinterested. They felt only females and the young liked fruit. Males were partial to meat!
Only meat could fill their stomachs and give them the strength to hunt.
Su Tang could understand theirckluster interest, so she smiled without taking it to heart.
¡°These are chestnuts. Put them into the fire but not too far in. Otherwise, you might not be able to get it outter!¡±
The females and the young mimicked Su Tang and ced them next to the fire.
Cain handed Su Tang a piece of roast meat. ¡°You can have some meat while the chestnuts are roasting!¡±
Su Tang was genuinely famished. The unknown meat was grilled to perfection with its juices oozing out of it and looked sulent.
The food tasted good and had great texture. Sadly, it was not salted.
¡°Sigh¡¡±
Cain turned his head sideways. ¡°What¡¯s wrong?¡±
¡°Do you have any salty ingredients? Like nts or a white crystal that tastes really bad on its own¡¡±
Cain knew what she was asking for. ¡°Are you talking about salt?¡±
Su Tang was instantly delighted!
She thought they did not have any salt around here!
¡°Uh-huh! Yes, I was talking about salt! Don¡¯t you use salt for cooking?¡±
Cain exined, ¡°Our priest has taken five Beast Warriors to Antelope Tribe to trade for salt. They mighte home in two days.¡±
Su Tang nodded. ¡°Is Antelope Tribe very far?¡±
¡°It isn¡¯t that far. If I run with all my might, I can get there in three days!¡± said Cain after some thought.
Su Tang did the math in her head. She did not know what the tiger¡¯s full speed was, but she knew the ce must be over 500 kilometers away if he had to run for three days!
Back home, that kind of distance required half a day¡¯s travel. However, in a dangerous ce like Beast World, she reckoned she would take over ten days to get there!
CRACKLE!
The chestnuts in the fire suddenly crackled, so Su Tang quickly gathered her thoughts.
She hurriedly told everyone, ¡°The chestnuts are done. Use a stick to take them out of the fire so that you don¡¯t get hurt!¡±
Su Tang felt an immense sense of nostalgia when she saw the dark roasted chestnuts.
She stood up and looked around and wanted to find a stone to open the chestnuts but to no avail.
Chapter 30
Chapter 30: A Shock to the Tribe
Cain picked up a chestnut from the ground and opened it with a gentle squeeze.
Su Tang opened her mouth wide in shock. ¡°I-isn¡¯t it hot?¡±
Cain remained calm. ¡°This bit of heat means nothing to me.¡±
Cain thoroughly enjoyed the way she looked at him in admiration with her bright eyes.
The young and females opened the chestnuts one after another with the help of the males.
After they sampled the roasted chestnuts, every single beast was won over, including the males!
Cain stood up and looked at them as he said, ¡°Su Tang was the one who discovered this fruit. It¡¯s called chestnut, and they can be stored for the entire cold season!¡±
Everyone went into amotion the moment they heard this!
¡°What? Can they be stored for an entire cold season?¡±
¡°That¡¯s brilliant! Then we have to gather more chestnuts. That way, we won¡¯t have to go hungry in the cold season!¡±
¡°Yeah! This fruit tastes awesome! Can we really get to eat this during the cold season?¡±
¡°But I have never seen this fruit before. Is it hard to find?¡±
¡°Yeah, where can we find it?¡±
Everyone chattered nonstop.
The young hid behind the grownups and looked at Su Tang quietly.
Su Tang smiled at them when she spotted them looking at her.
Cain roared, and the tribe instantly went quiet.
¡°It¡¯s easy to find, and there are a lot of them! If we gather everything, it¡¯s enough tost the tribe the entire cold season!¡±
The tribe exploded once more!
¡°Huh! What did he just say? Is there enough for us to eat the entire cold season?¡±
¡°Is this for real? Big Bear, hit me now! I¡¯m not sure if I¡¯m dreaming!¡±
¡°That¡¯s great! In that case, my father won¡¯t try to leave the tribe secretly! I have to tell him about this good news!¡±
¡°Exactly! I have to go back and tell my mother about the news too!¡±
¡°Ow. Big Bear, why did you hit me so hard!¡±
¡°Didn¡¯t you tell me to hit you?¡±
The tribe felt lively as everyone bantered and was overjoyed!
Su Tang felt infected by this atmosphere as she stood next to Cain.
She suddenly pulled Cain¡¯s arm and gestured for him to bend over.
She went close to Cain¡¯s ear and said secretly, ¡°I also know a way to store meat throughout the cold season!¡±
This time, even Cain felt shocked!
He held onto Su Tang¡¯s shoulders tightly and did his utmost to suppress the excitement in his voice. ¡°Really?¡±
Su Tang nodded. However, she could not help feeling unconfident when she saw the restrained and earnest look in Cain¡¯s eyes.
¡°I know how to do it, but I never tried it before, so it might not work! We can try since I won¡¯t have to use too much meat!¡±
Cain¡¯s breathing became rapid!
He pulled Su Tang into his arms and embraced her tightly!
¡°Thanks, Su!¡±
His intense manly scent enveloped Su Tang. It smelled good and even made her feel floaty!
She blushed as she patted Cain¡¯s back and calmed him down. ¡°You¡¯re wee. If you didn¡¯t save me from the forest, I wouldn¡¯t havested three days in there. I¡¯m the one who should thank you!¡±
Cain responded by hugging her even more tightly.
¡°C-Cain, I can¡¯t breathe! ¡±
Cain let Su Tang go reluctantly.
It felt great to hold her in his arms, but now was not the time.
Since she was still too young, he did not want to frighten her.
He suppressed the desire in his eyes and rubbed Su Tang at the top of her head.
Chapter 31
Chapter 31: A Shock to the Tribe ¨C Part 2
¡°Chief, what kind of fruit is it? Why haven¡¯t we seen it before?¡±
After a beast asked quizzically, everyone chimed in.
¡°It¡¯s thorny fruit!¡±
The crowd fell silent when they heard Cain¡¯s answer.
Su Tang suppressed the excitement flooding her heart after Cain had embraced her and addressed their concerns.
¡°After thorny fruit ripens, their husk bes weak. Even though it looks sharp and dangerous, all you need to do is throw it on the ground to open them!¡±
A female asked in disbelief, ¡°Really? A thorny fruit once fell on one of our boys. He lost a lot of blood and died.¡±
Another female chimed in, ¡°Yeah! I recall he was Yuanyuan¡¯s little brother!¡±
Su Tang looked at Yuanyuan in shock. Yuanyuan did not bring this up when they talked about chestnuts in the afternoon.
Yuanyuan nodded sadly, so Su Tang did not probe.
¡°Since kids tend to have softer skin, they should avoid touching thorny fruit, but it¡¯s okay for grownups! It will only hurt a little when they fall on us, and you definitely won¡¯t die from it!¡±
Since Su Tang looked petite and weak and had only joined the tribe today, she did not have any sway over them.
All the beasts felt hesitant and did not know whether to trust Su Tang.
Cain said deeply, ¡°Old Nick was blessed by the God Beast in his sleepst night and became a healer. From now on, we will have a healer among us!¡±
Old Nick chuckled aloud as well.
¡°That¡¯s right! I have done my utmost to look for medicine for the tribe all these years. Last night, I was finally enlightened by the God Beast and became a healer!¡±
Green Fruit and Yuanyuan stepped forward to attest to his abilities.
¡°That¡¯s right! Old Nick was the one who saved Meng Ze!¡±
Most of the beasts in the tribe had seen the severity of Meng Ze¡¯s injuries!
In the past, badly injured beasts were sent to the Prayer Cave to await Beast God¡¯s decision to let them live or die if there were no healers to save them!
However, Meng Ze had not been sent to the Prayer Cave. Although no one knew how he was, Yuanyuan would stay at his side if he was dying since she was Meng Ze¡¯s partner, so the tribe believed them before long.
They surrounded Old Nick and tossed him into the air repeatedly!
¡°Owooo! Owooo! From now on, Winged Tiger Tribe has a healer too!¡±
¡°Old Nick! Old Nick!¡±
¡°Thank you for blessing Winged Tiger Tribe, Beast God!¡±
¡
Cain held Su Tang¡¯s hand and led her out of the crowd.
¡°I¡¯m sorry. I didn¡¯t tell them you were a healer! Don¡¯t be upset. I am just trying to protect you!¡±
Su Tang tilted her head sideways and smiled. ¡°I¡¯m not angry. Although I don¡¯t know why you did it, I trust you!¡±
Cain smiled too. ¡°Since you¡¯re too young, you might end up attracting trouble if others find out you are a healer!¡±
Winged Tiger Tribe was located in a remote part of Beast World. Since the area was too poor and backward, there were barely any healers.
Of all the tribes in their area, only Great Eagle Tribe in Beast City had a single healer!
If anyone from the other tribes needed treatment, they had to offer fiverge wild animals as consultation fees and see if the healer was willing to take the patient!
Other healers had emerged in the area before. However, Great Eagle Tribe wanted to monopolize the trade. Hence, if they failed to get the healer to join them, they would hunt them down!
Chapter 32
Chapter 32: Stupefied
Divine Warriors were rare as well, and only Great Eagle Tribe had five or six of them, so they had called the shots in the region with no opposition for years.
Since it was a well-kept tribe secret that Cain was a Divine Warrior, the Great Eagle Tribe had not made an attempt on his life yet.
Meng Ze had the most potential to be the next Divine Warrior before Su Tang came to the tribe. If she did not suddenly turn up, they would have brought him to Great Eagle Tribe if Old Nick could not save him.
But Meng Ze might not have survived the trip there¡
Su Tang felt it was incredible as she listened to Cain but thought it made sense.
After all, all the beast world books she read in the past were about fights over territory and resources. The winner ended up taking all, and the scenes were incredibly bloody!
¡°No one can know that you are a healer. Since I need to exin how Meng Ze ended up recovering, I told Old Nick to im he is a healer. That way, we can protect you and answer to the tribe, so don¡¯t be upset!¡±
Su Tang patted Cain¡¯s shoulderfortingly and smiled as she said, ¡°I already said I wasn¡¯t angry. Instead, I have to thank you for protecting me!¡±
Cain held Su Tang¡¯s hand firmly with a solemn look on his face!
¡°I¡¯m already a level three Divine Warrior, and I¡¯ll do my best to be stronger and protect you always!¡±
Su Tang veered her eyes nervously as her heart palpitated nonstop.
Wow. The tiger was so handsome and such a heartthrob!
Su Tang kept telling herself to calm down. Since the tiger was only protecting Su Tang because she was a healer and essential to the tribe, she could not overthink it!
She repeatedly told herself not to overthink it!
Su Tangposed herself before she looked at Cain. ¡°Thanks. Don¡¯t worry about it. If Old Nick is interested, I can teach him to identify herbs and treat patients.¡±
¡°Thanks, Su!¡±
Cain¡¯s eyes looked even sexier, and Su Tang almost melted.
So Su Tang hurriedly changed the subject. ¡°Oh yes. You keep talking about Divine Warriors, but what does that mean?¡±
She felt it might attract suspicion and hurriedly added, ¡°Erm¡ My tribe probably has Divine Warriors too, but they might be called something else.¡±
Cain¡¯s eyes turned solemn. Since it was dark at night, Su Tang failed to detect them.
In just a day, Cain found Su Tang highly suspicious from the moment he encountered her. He felt even more confident that the female did not belong to their world.
Judging from her behavior and knowledge, the female led apletely different life from him that could not evenpare with Beast City!
Did the Beast God Realm really exist? Was the female exiled to the Beast World by Beast God?
Cain said nothing to Su Tang. Instead, he opened his hand.
Su Tang nced at him quizzically.
A small gold orb gradually formed on Cain¡¯s palm. It suddenly transformed into a de before changing into a gold rope in the blink of an eye.
It looked just like magic, leaving Su Tang stupefied!
He clenched his fist, and the gold rope instantly shrank before disappearing into thin air.
Su Tang was shocked: ¡°¡¡±
What did she say about possibly knowing what Divine Warriors were?
Could she take her words back?.
Chapter 33
Chapter 33: Stupefied ¨C Part 2
¡°Divine Warriors are Beast Warriors who are brave, determined, and lucky enough to be blessed by Beast God.¡±
¡°Divine Warriors can sense energy in the atmosphere. They can use their skills to strengthen a part of their body or awaken other powers! Also, some Divine Warriors can detect elemental energies!¡±
¡°Legend has it that white tigers are born blessed. After bing Divine Warriors, they can sense gold energy just like me.¡±
Su Tang blinked wide-eyed. Was he talking about the five elements gold, wood, water, fire, and earth?
However, Su Tang did not dare ask. After Cain exined what Divine Warriors were about, she pped and looked at him with admiration. ¡°Wow! That¡¯s brilliant, Cain! You are the most powerful beastman I have ever seen!¡±
ttery always worked.
She just needed to distract him with some ttery before he noticed anything amiss about her questions.
Cain looked at Su Tang in the darkness with his eyes burning but said nothing.
Despite saying this, Su Tang could not help feeling nervous. To begin with, she was already a little cold, but now cold sweat had broken all over her forehead.
The more Cain stayed quiet, the guiltier Su Tang felt.
¡°It¡¯s getting a little cold. Cain, take me back to the cave, will you?¡±
¡°Uh-huh,¡± acknowledged Cain before he left her swooning when he carried her back.
Su Tang climbed onto the stone bed in the dark when they got back to the cave and curled up under the animal skin with only her eyes showing.
The cave was quiet, and only the sound of flintstones could be heard as Cain rubbed them together.
Before long, the cave lit up slightly.
Cain ced the fire closer to the cave entrance before he said to Su Tang softly, ¡°That should make it warmer. Now you can sleep!¡±
Su Tang instantly felt nervous. ¡°Erm¡ then what about you?¡±
Cain did not know what the female was driving at. He went quiet for two seconds and said, ¡°I¡¯m going to take care of Meng Ze!¡±
Su Tang was a little stunned to hear this.
¡°Do I have to stay in the cave alone?¡±
¡°Uh-huh,¡± replied Cain.
Su Tang felt upset!
The fire was not even bright enough to light up the whole cave, so it was dark and shadowy. Since there was no door, she would not even know if any other creatures came in at night!
She felt scared just thinking about it!
She looked at Cain pitifully. ¡°Isn¡¯t Yuanyuan taking care of Meng Ze? D-Don¡¯t go, will you?¡±
Despite the embarrassment, Su Tang had to say it!
She could even sense her face burning up like it was on fire!
Fortunately, the fire was not right next to the bed, and the lighting was dim, so Cain probably failed to notice anything!
Su Tang was unaware that beastmen had an equally good vision at night for the sake of survival, so Cain caught sight of how shy and adorable she looked.
¡°Okay!¡±
Cain¡¯s eyes glinted slightly as he felt his throat go dry.
Su Tang finally heaved a sigh of relief.
Since there was only one piece of animal skin on the stone bed and no pillow, she felt sore sleeping there. Life sure was tough!
It was so quiet in the cave that Su Tang could even make out her breathing.
She secretly raised her head to see what Cain was doing.
Her eyes were quickly glued to the white bundle by the side of the stone bed!
Cain had transformed into a tiger again. The moment she recalled how soft he felt, she wanted to stroke him.
Su Tang said softly, ¡°Cain, why don¡¯t you sleep on the stone bed since it¡¯s quite big?¡±
Cain ignored her.
Su Tang refused to give up and continued to say, ¡°Cain, it¡¯s cold on the ground, so you might end up sick!¡±
Cain continued to disregard her.
Su Tang kept trying to convince him, ¡°Cain, if you don¡¯te, I will keep going.¡±
Chapter 34
Chapter 34: What to Teach
Su Tang refused to believe that the tiger would note if she kept trying!
She felt delighted at the prospects of hugging a soft and furry tiger in her sleep.
¡°Cain.¡±
A white light shed before Su Tang fell into a warm embrace.
She was bbergasted.
She could hear Cain¡¯s deep breathing right beside her ears while half her body felt tingly.
Su Tang did not dare to move a muscle. Instead, shey stiffly like a log.
This was not what Su Tang expected!
¡°Go to bed!¡± Cain¡¯s husky voice rang by her ears.
Su Tang hurriedly closed her eyes.
Even up to the second before she fell asleep, she was wondering how unpredictable the white tiger was!
¡
The next day when she woke up, she was the only person lying in bed.
She surprisingly had a good restst night lying in Cain¡¯s arms.
Su Tang anxiously shook her head and tossed the thought out of her mind!
She must have been so nervous that she did not shove Cain aside. Yes, that must be it!
Su Tang stood up and straightened out the bed, but Cain did note back to the cave after a long time.
She checked her wristwatch to see it was already past 7:00 am.
Su Tang walked out of the cave and wanted to try and leave it!
In front of the cave, there was a three to four-meter square terrace. To the east of the cave was a luxuriant tree facing the cave entrance.
If there were a small fence around the terrace and a small table, recliner, and delicate tea thrown in, it would feel pretty rxing.
Cliffs stood on both sides of the terrace with some protruding rocks on the cliff walls.
Despite their distance, Su Tang felt it was worth a shot.
The cave was not that high and was only about five to six meters from the ground.
Su Tang walked up to the terrace. Since the first protruding rock was only half a meter away, she managed to get onto it with a big step.
The second protruding rock was about 1.5 meters diagonally away from her and was also connected to the first rock.
Su Tang inhaled deeply and reached her leg out cautiously as she jumped down with hands on the first rock.
However, Su Tang could not help twitching her lips helplessly when she saw the third rock.
Since the rock was almost two meters in both length and breadth, she could not get down at all!
She shook her head and wanted to head back to the cave, but she shockingly realized she was incapable of making it back!
She was only about 1.6 meters tall. Since the previous rock was already 1.5 meters high, how could she pull herself back up?
She powerlessly sat on the rock cross-legged as she waited for help toe!
As Su Tang waited in boredom, she suddenly recalled the system!
Su Tang: [007, how many points do I have now?]
[BEEP! You now have a total of 128 points. Would you like to see their details?]
Su Tang: [Yes!]
[BEEP! Sixteen points for spreading knowledge. Twenty-three points for spreading knowledge¡]
Su Tang looked at the details of the points she earned on the screen and felt so happy that she beamed from ear to ear!
She quietly contemted what she should teach the beastmen today.
¡
Since Su Tang told Cain that meat could be stored long-term, he woke up early in the morning to hunt on his own.
The meat in the tribe belonged to everyone, so Su Tang could not experiment using those.
He went out while she was still sleeping and came back with an animal.
However, she had shockingly disappeared from the cave when he came back!
Chapter 35
Chapter 35: Stop Rubbing Her Head
Even though Cain could pick up her scent in the air, he could not find her!
At that moment, Cain was so angry that he wanted to destroy everything in his path!
He left his cave sullenly and raised his head as he roared.
All the beasts promptly stopped what they were doing and headed to the open space in front of the cliff in an organized manner.
¡
Su Tang was thinking about her teaching ns when Cain¡¯s roar startled her.
She quicklyposed herself and said softly, ¡°Cain, is that you?¡±
The moment she finished her sentence, Cain appeared before Su Tang with a stern look on his face.
Su Tang failed to detect anything amiss with Cain. Instead, she sulked and felt indignant.
¡°Cain, this rock is too high. I¡¯m stuck!¡±
Su Tang¡¯s adorable whining tone surprisingly had a calming effect on Cain. He carried Su Tang in his arms and pursed his lips.
¡°I¡¯ll bring you down!¡±
¡
Su Tang was startled by the swarm of beastmen beneath the cliff when she arrived on the ground.
She pulled Cain¡¯s arm and asked softly, ¡°Did something happen?¡±
Cain stroked Su Tang¡¯s head and replied softly, ¡°Nope.¡±
He raised his hand at the beastmen expressionlessly. ¡°It¡¯s fine. Get on with your work!¡±
The beastmen left promptly, and only a small group of people remained.
After most of the other beastmen had left, Big Bear asked in a muffled tone, ¡°Chief, are you hunting with us today?¡±
Cain replied, ¡°Yeah! Give me a moment!¡±
He waved to Green Fruit not far from them. ¡°Take Su Tang with you to gather thorny fruit. Take good care of her and make sure she doesn¡¯t get hurt!¡±
Green Fruit nodded. ¡°Don¡¯t worry, Chief! I will take good care of Tangtang!¡±
Cain was still a little worried, so he ordered two Beast Warriors to protect the female gatherers before he stopped frowning.
Su Tang could not help feeling upset. ¡°Cain, I¡¯m a grownup. I can take care of myself! Don¡¯t worry!¡±
Cain said nothing as he rubbed the top of Su Tang¡¯s head gently again. The affectionate look in his eyes left all the other beasts uneasy!
Was this still their stern and cold chief?
Su Tang pulled Cain¡¯s hand off her head and said unhappily, ¡°Stop rubbing my head! Or else, I won¡¯t be able to grow any taller!¡±
A thought crossed Cain¡¯s head before he merely smiled and said, ¡°Fine! I¡¯ll stop!¡±
¡°Take care while you¡¯re hunting. Don¡¯t get hurt!¡±
Cain nodded. ¡°Okay!¡±
Su Tang saw Big Bear anxiously spinning circles as well as the teasing look in Green Fruit¡¯s eyes, so she shyly pushed Cain away.
¡°Enough. Just go! I¡¯m going with Green Fruit to gather thorny fruit!¡±
She went up to Green Fruit, pulled her arm, and ran off without looking back.
After Su Tang was nowhere in sight, he turned to say to Big Bear calmly, ¡°Let¡¯s go!¡±
¡
Su Tang felt curious about the team of gatherers.
¡°Tangtang, did you sleep in the same cave as Chiefst night?¡±
Yellow Fruit was a young female around 25 to 26 years old. She was around 1.8 meters tall, so she looked like a little giant when she stood next to Su Tang!
Su Tang nodded. ¡°Uh-huh!¡±
Yellow Fruit looked at her in shock. ¡°You are so small that you look just like a baby. How could Chief mate with you?¡±
¡°Cough, cough, cough¡ Huh? What did you just say?¡±
Su Tang was taken aback by Yellow Fruit¡¯s candor!
Chapter 36
Chapter 36: Gathering Chestnuts
Yellow Fruit looked at her matter of factly. ¡°Mate, of course! Are you really not a baby?¡±
Su Tang¡¯s flushed crimson and did not know what to say!
Judging from the way the other females looked, they felt the same way!
¡°I¡¯m not a baby! I¡¯m already a grown-up, and I didn¡¯t m-mate with Cain!¡±
Sadly, Su Tang¡¯s appearance and voice remained unconvincing.
The females felt Su Tang must have been too shy to admit it! In reality, they had started to wonder when Su Tang and the Chief would be holding their partner ceremony.
The priest was still away, and the partner ceremony had to be conducted by him. After holding the ceremony and receiving the Beast God¡¯s blessing, the male could mark the female on her finger on her right hand with his insignia toplete the ceremony and be true partners!
No matter how quickly the Chief wanted it done, he had to wait for the priest toe home. The females could not help sighing as they thought about how there was no chance for the ceremony to be held sooner.
A male called felt sad for the Chief when he saw Su Tang reacting shyly!
Since Tie Mu was a male, he had a keen sense of smell and could sense that Su Tan did not have the Chief¡¯s scent on her, so he knew they had yet to mate!
Tie Mu already had a shy partner who would only mate with him at night in the cave, so he felt that it would be the same for Su Tang and Cain after bing partners!
Everyone looked at Su Tang with a thoughtful, knowing look on their faces and left Su Tang feeling powerless!
It was no point to argue with them, so she quietly followed them to the forest to gather chestnuts!
It was not easy for Su Tang to walk to the forest. Even though everyone thoughtfully slowed down, it took over an hour for them to arrive at the chestnut forest.
Su Tang was already so tired that she was covered in sweat!
Back home, she was a student before she became a hospital intern. Since she worked indoors all the time, she was not as physically strong.
She started feeling exhausted after going a short distance!
Green Fruit looked at her worriedly and asked, ¡°Tangtang, are you okay? Why don¡¯t you take a break while we get started picking the thorny fruit?¡±
Su Tang gasped a little as she nodded and replied, ¡°You don¡¯t have to pluck it. Just get the males to use a long wooden stick to hit the tree branches and make them fall down!¡±
Green Fruit¡¯s eyes lit up, and she said, ¡°That¡¯s a great idea! Let me tell Tie Mu and the others. Go on and take a break!¡±
Green Fruit went over to Tie Mu and told him about it. He nodded and picked up a roughly two-meter tree branch.
Tie Mu told the females who were about to pick thorny fruit, ¡°Can you step aside? I will hit the branches and make the thorny fruite down!¡±
The females stepped out and gave Tie Mu space to work with!
PANG! PANG! PANG!
As Tie Mu struck the tree branches, all the thorny fruit fell onto the ground like an impressive heavy rain!
In a matter of seconds, the forest ground was covered with a thickyer of thorny fruit. There was so much thorny fruit lying on the ground that they could hardly walk!
¡°Enough, enough. Tie Mu, you can stop for now! Let us pick the ones on the ground first!¡±
Red Fruit was slightly older and was more meticulous in nature, so she quickly stopped Tie Mu when she noticed there was already a lot of thorny fruit lying on the ground.
Tie Mu really wanted to keep going, but he stopped and told the other four beasts, ¡°That was fun! You should try itter!¡±

Chapter 37: Gathering Chestnuts ¨C Part 2
Tie Mu really wanted to keep going, but he stopped and told the other four beasts, ¡°That was fun! You should try itter!¡±
Red Fruit scolded them jokingly, ¡°Stop ying, you silly boys. Get over here and help us gather the chestnuts!¡±
The males hurriedly started picking thorny fruit from the outside.
The chestnut husk had already split apart from the fall. Some of the chestnuts still remained in the husk, so everyone had to pick chestnuts and check if there were any left inside.
Everyone was energetic and worked swiftly. Before long, the chestnuts they gathered were one meter high!
¡°Willow, bring the animal skin over so that we can move this batch of chestnuts back first!¡±
Yellow Fruit waved at a petite female standing in the corner. The female walked over meekly with her head lowered, carrying the animal skin.
Su Tang looked at Willow curiously. Since Willow had little presence, Su Tang would not have noticed her if Yellow Fruit did not talk to her.
Willow seemed to sense Su Tang scrutinizing her, so she lowered her head even more until only the top of her head could be seen!
Green Fruit exined softly, ¡°Her name is Willow. She just came of age, but no male wants to be her partner as she doesn¡¯t look good! The young don¡¯t want her to watch over them either because of her looks, so Chief assigned her to the gathering team!¡±
Su Tang immediately veered her head and said to Green Fruit apologetically, ¡°Sorry, I didn¡¯t know about her situation¡¡±
Green Fruit shook her head as she smiled. ¡°Don¡¯t worry about it. Willow is really nice. Just give her a chance and get to know her!¡±
Su Tang nodded.
As they chatted, the other gatherers had transferred the chestnuts onto a piece of animal skin. Red Fruit was instructing two males to lift the skin by the corners and carry them back to the tribe!
Su Tang turned her head to ask Green Fruit, ¡°Do you usually use animal skin to transport things? Do you use any other tools?¡±
Green Fruit was unsure what Su Tang asked. ¡°What tools?¡±
Su Tang shook her head and stopped probing.
She mulled in her heart. If they could weave a basket or something, it would make gathering easier and more efficient!
It was so tiring to carry the chestnuts back to the tribe bit by bit!
Su Tang stood up and asked Tie Mu, ¡°Brother Mu, I want to take a look around here and see if there is any food. Can youe with me?¡±
Tie Mu turned to look at Red Fruit uneasily.
Red Fruit was the leader of the gathering team, so everyone had to report to her.
Red Fruit overheard their conversation. She did not mind since Su Tang was the one who told them about the thorny fruit. If Su Tang could find any other type of food, it would be even better!
¡°Sure. Tie Mu, you must keep a close eye on Su Tang and don¡¯t go too far. Although the hunting team has already cleared the forest of any dangerous animals, some animals might have gotten missed, so be careful!¡±
Tie Mu instantly nodded and straightened his back. ¡°Don¡¯t worry, Red Fruit! I will take good care of Su Tang!¡±
Su Tang smiled sweetly at Red Fruit before she told Tie Mu, ¡°Let¡¯s go over there for a look, Brother Mu!¡±
In a matter of a night, other than the males out to trade salt with the priest, everyone, including all the females and young, knew that the Chief fancied the female he had brought back to the tribe!
Hence, the moment Su Tang greeted him so sweetly, Tie Mu panicked!
Chapter 38
Chapter 38: Weaving Pack Baskets
Tie Mu scratched his head with anxiety and awkwardness as he said, ¡°Just call me Tie Mu!¡±
Su Tang felt surprised in her heart. She wanted to be friendlier, but he did not want her to talk to him that way!
Was he younger than her in reality?
Su Tang did not dare ask or say anything, so she merely nodded stiffly, ¡°Okay, Tie Mu!¡±
¡
After the two of them had gone some distance, Bu Sen went up to Red Fruit and mumbled, ¡°Auntie Red Fruit, you should have asked me to go with Su Tang. Tie Mu is so stupid that he might end up scaring Su Tang!¡±
Red Fruit nced at Bu Sen. She ignored him and continued picking chestnuts.
Bu Sen kept following Red Fruit as he said, ¡°Auntie Red Fruit, you know what Tie Mu is like. What if Su Tang ends up thinking everyone in the tribe is hard to get along?¡±
Red Fruit finally could not stand his chatter and pped Bu Sen on this shoulder hard. He was simply too tall, so she could not hit him on the head!
¡°Keep working! The rainy season is already halfway through, and the cold season ising soon! Do you really think I don¡¯t know what you are ying at? Chief likes Su Tang, so don¡¯t make trouble!¡±
Bu Sen rubbed his shoulder. Red Fruit had barely done any damage when she hit him.
He kept going close to Red Fruit shamelessly, ¡°Auntie Red Fruit, don¡¯t be angry! I wasn¡¯t trying to make trouble! I will work hard, so don¡¯t tell Chief about it!¡±
Red Fruit red at him angrily. ¡°Hurry up and get cracking!¡±
¡
Tie Mu pulled Su Tang by the sleeve and said, ¡°There¡¯s a cliff up ahead and nowhere else to go!¡±
Su Tang nodded before she continued heading towards the cliff.
Tie Mu scratched his head. He did not know what else to say and could only follow behind her.
Many unknown nts hung from the cliff, and one of the vines that were roughly as thick as an index finger caught Su Tang¡¯s attention.
The vine grew in abundance here and tangled together like the electric cables outside the orphanage!
She went over and pulled one. Perfect, it did not break!
Su Tang activated the system and paid one point to determine if the vines were strong enough for making baskets.
The system answered quickly!
[BEEP! These are ghost vines. They are strong enough for basket weaving and be very durable and light after drying!]
Su Tang beamed happily at the positive result!
¡°Tie Mu, can you help me yank these vines off? I need them!¡±
Although Tie Mu did not know why she needed them, he did not probe. Despite his powerful innate strength, it was hard for him to yank them off!
Su Tang felt even happier about the ghost vine when she saw this!
Su Tang gathered four bundles of ghost vine with Tie Mu¡¯s help. After taking a walk around the ce without discovering any more ghost vine, she left with Tie Mu.
On their way back, Tie Mu could not help asking, ¡°Su Tang, are they edible? How do we prepare them?¡±
Su Tang softlyughed as she shook her head. ¡°These aren¡¯t edible, but they are as important as food!¡±
Tie Mu was at a loss. He could not see how something could be more important than food!
He led Su Tang back to the spot where they were gathering chestnuts.
¡
¡°Tangtang, why did youe back so soon? Did you find any new kind of food? What is Tie Mu carrying?¡±
Green Fruit felt curious when she saw a mysterious smile on Su Tang¡¯s face!
Tie Mu walked over and ced the ghost vine on the ground before he said quizzically, ¡°Su Tang said it¡¯s not for eating, but just as important as food!¡±
Chapter 39
Chapter 39: Weaving Pack Baskets ¨C Part 2
Red Fruit came over for a look when she heard Tie Mu say how important the vines were.
Other than the meek Willow and the two males who had headed back to the tribe with the first batch of chestnuts, all the other four females and three males circled around Su Tang.
Green Fruit could not help asking, ¡°Tangtang, what on earth is this? How can it be more important than food?¡±
Su Tang undid the bundles of ghost vine and used Tie Mu¡¯s stone knife to cut it down the center with a lot of effort!
She handed the stone knife to Green Fruit and blinked at her mischievously before she said, ¡°Do you want to know? Then do as I do, and you¡¯ll find out!¡±
Green Fruit quickly took the stone knife and cut a bundle of ghost vine down the middle just like Su Tang before she handed the stone knife to Red Fruit.
Su Tang activated the system while everyone cut the ghost vine into sections.
Su Tang: [007, I want instructions for weaving pack baskets!]
[BEEP! Instructions for weaving pack baskets have been found! Would you like to use 100 points to activate intermediate survival questions?]
[10, 9 , 8¡]]
Su Tang was certain she must be an angry bird in her past life. Or else, why would she keep wanting to throw a fit?
The system must be finding ways to suck her blood when it realized she had points!
Despite her fury, she had to utilize the points!
She opted to utilize the points for the instructions like an angry little kitten!
[BEEP! You have utilized 100 points to activate intermediate survival questions!]
[BEEP! Instructions for weaving pack baskets have been found. Please refer to the instructions below. 10/9.]
Su Tang¡¯s temples could not help throbbing when she saw ¡°10/9¡± in bold at the end of the sentence! She felt as though someone was hammering her head nonstop!
Sigh! She could sense her blood pressure rising!
Calm down! She had to calm down!
Since it was just a machine, she should not lower herself and get angry with it!
Su Tang inhaled deeply.
She smiled at the others as she said, ¡°Just follow me!¡±
Red Fruit, Green Fruit, and Yellow Fruit all took some ghost vine and mimicked Su Tang¡¯s movements.
The first step of weaving a pack basket was its base. A round base had to be woven using thin strips of ghost vine based on one¡¯s needs. Su Tang made a base that was roughly 30 centimeters in length.
Red Fruit and Green Fruit started slow but ended up weaving rather deftly.
However, Yellow Fruit¡¯s vines were in a mess, and she was incapable of weaving.
Yellow Fruit huffily threw the vines aside. ¡°I give up! I will go gather chestnuts!¡±
¡°Erm¡ Mind if I try?¡±
A weak voice rang in the air. Su Tang raised her head to see it was Willow.
She hade over to watch them too.
It was the first time Su Tang managed to see Willow¡¯s face and finally realized why everyone felt she was ugly.
Willow was on the skinny side, she was only about 1.7 meters tall, and her face was covered with pimples.
However, Willow had striking features and a fairplexion, unlike the other females in the tribe. If she did not have any pimples, she would be gorgeous!
Willow wanted to hide when Su Tang kept looking at her.
She could sense that Su Tang did not mean any harm. Otherwise, she might have taken off!
¡°Never mind¡ Forget it¡¡±
Su Tang hurriedly called Willow back when Willow started to leave. She smiled at Willow warmly as she said, ¡°Certainly. Come over and weave with us!¡±
Willow was stunned before she cautiously sat down in Yellow Fruit¡¯s old spot.
Chapter 40
Chapter 40: Weaving Pack Baskets ¨C Part 3
Yellow Fruit patted Willow¡¯s shoulder encouragingly as she said, ¡°Good luck, Willow! You can do it!¡±
Willow lowered her head shyly. ¡°T-thanks¡¡±
Su Tang asked thoughtfully, ¡°Do you need me to show you one more time?¡±
Willow shook her head gently. ¡°It¡¯s okay. I remember how to do this!¡±
Willow straightened out the ghost vine before she started weaving the base following Su Tang¡¯s instructions.
Willow was good with her hands, and the base she had woven was even better than Su Tang¡¯s, so everyone was stunned.
Yellow Fruit also said in shock, ¡°Willow, have you done this before?¡±
Willow shook her head and replied softly, ¡°No, I haven¡¯t¡¡±
Su Tang nonchntly smiled as she said to the others, ¡°This means Willow is a talented weaver. Keep it up! You are very good at this, Willow!¡±
Willow lowered her head nervously and did not even know where to put her hands.
Su Tang pretended not to see her reaction. ¡°Enough. Let¡¯s keep weaving.¡±
After making the base, they went on to make the pack basket body. They kept working up from the base to form a round-shaped basket. Each time they finished making a line, they had to press it down to make it seamless.
In the process of weaving, it was important to keep shaping the basket. If this was not done, it would affect the shape of the final product.
Halfway through the weaving, Red Fruit suddenly realized what it was for.
She was instantly thrilled!
She raised the halfpleted basket and asked, ¡°Su Tang, w-what is this called?¡±
Su Tang smiled as she exined, ¡°It¡¯s called a pack basket. You can use it to carry a lot of stuff when out gathering, so it makes things easier!¡±
Red Fruit smiled happily!
¡°Uh-huh! We won¡¯t have to carry so much animal skin when we go out gathering now that we have this! This is good stuff! Thanks for showing us how to make it, Su Tang!¡±
Su Tang nodded. ¡°This is just one of the things that can be made through weaving. Based on your needs, you can create other tools as well!¡±
Red Fruit was so thrilled that she did not know what to say. Her impression of Su Tang changedpletely.
No one objected when the Chief said he wanted to keep her around, but Red Fruit knew that many of the tribesmen did not like the idea, just like her.
Although she was pretty, she was too petite and skinny. Everyone felt she was not capable enough to be with the chief!
However, Red Fruit certainly did not feel that way anymore!
Su Tang told everyone about a fruit that could be stored throughout the cold season and taught them to weave!
She was genuinely a kind female!
The more Red Fruit looked at Su Tang, the more she liked Su Tang!
Su Tang felt shy when Red Fruit kept looking at her, so she changed the subject, ¡°Cough, cough. It¡¯s gettingte, so let¡¯s weave quickly!¡±
¡°Uh-huh! All right!¡±
The two beastmen who had left with the first batch of chestnuts came back about ten minutester.
They stood beside the others and watched as they wove.
The weaving was almost done. Su Tang ced two ghost vine pieces she saved and attached them to the basket before she finished weaving thest two rows.
Su Tang finished making a pack basket that was 30 centimeters in width and 50 centimeters in height.
Yellow Fruit took it excitedly, automatically carried it on her back, and jumped in joy!
¡°This is awesome! Now I can carry a lot of chestnuts back to the tribe on my own!¡±
Green Grass looked at Yellow Fruit¡¯s basket earnestly. ¡°Yellow Fruit, let me try it too!¡±
Since Yellow Fruit still found the basket novel, she refused to remove it from her shoulders!
Chapter 41 - Chestnuts Temptation - Part 2
Chapter 41: Chestnuts¡¯ Temptation ¨C Part 2

Let¡¯s hurry over to the river and clean up, orr else, the herb stains won¡¯te off!¡±
¡°Okay!¡±

¡°Owooo! Owooo! From now on, Winged Tiger Tribe has a healer too!¡±
¡°Old Nick! Old Nick!¡±
¡°Thank you for blessing Winged Tiger Tribe, Beast God!¡±
...

Chapter 48: Stupefied

Even up to the second before she fell asleep, she was wondering how unpredictable the white tiger was!
...
She quietly contemted what she should teach the beastmen today.
...

Even though Cain could pick up her scent in the air, he could not find her!
At that moment, Cain was so angry that he wanted to destroy everything in his path!
He left his cave sullenly and raised his head as he roared.
All the beasts promptly stopped what they were doing and headed to the open space in front of the cliff in an organized manner.
...
¡°I¡¯ll bring you down!¡±
...
After Su Tang was nowhere in sight, he turned to say to Big Bear calmly, ¡°Let¡¯s go!¡±
...

Chapter 55 - Weaving Pack Baskets - Part 2
Chapter 55: Weaving Pack Baskets ¨C Part 2
Chapter 56 - Weaving Pack Baskets - Part 3
Chapter 56: Weaving Pack Baskets ¨C Part 3
