《On the Berry Ranch [A Pokemon Fan-fiction]》 0. In the Beyond Arceus. The Creator of the Pokemon Wold. At first, there was nothing. Then, from a source, so far away he still can¡¯t seem to find it, a Tale came. A Tale of a complete new World, filled with mysterious Creatures. This Creature are called Pokemon. After this, slowly, the Tale of Arceus the Creator was spun. And the Maker himself was born through this Tale. He listened. He listens to the Tales. Not on Tale, there are many of them. Some seem to be based on previous told ones, being part of one big one. If you discover this tale on Amazon, be aware that it has been stolen. Please report the violation.Other seem to be made by individuals, every slightly different then another. As he listened, he made. He made a World as he heard it. But he made it his own Creation. Not exactly a Copy, but also not the Same. He created a Word as he wants it to be. And as it continued, he found something interesting, while he literally found something else. His interest was catched by some Stories who are so different but carry a Spirit to it. A Spirit as if wanting to make a Story of one¡¯s own, while sharing it with others. Wanting them to appreciate it. And what else he found are two things. For one, an interesting Person, who he wants to see Blossom, even if it¡¯s just for fun. The other a Lost Soul, seemingly coming from the same Place as the Tales. And with his Decision, he acted. No one will know, that Arceus was the most successful Hacker and Document-forger that ever existed. 1. Oh, a Magikarp! *Evolution Noises* Sabrina is currently sitting on a comfortable wooden Chair. To the Chair is a wooden table, on whip two Items lie. The whole Setup is in a mix of Dinning Room and Kitchen. Her Attention is now completely focused on the two items. One seems like a mix of forearm guard and Smartphone. As if a Device was specially made to be put in the forearm, held on it by two bracelet bands. It has the typical Pok¨¦dex Colour scheme, with much red and some black. A Camera on the side, cross buttons, power button and so on. But the biggest Attention Catcher is a booklet, ten-odd pages thick. Its front depicts in a nice drawn style Mountains, Forrest and Rivers, lacking much wildlife. The Title is ¡°Introduction to the World of Pokemon: Personalised Form!¡±. And at the right corner is a ¡°-written by Arceus¡± as if it is the most normal thing in the World! After sitting a bit dumbly around, she sighs and takes a deep breath. Then, she opens the Booklet. Chapter One: Welcome to the World of Pokemon, Sabrina Belford! As it stands, your current Background is of coming from Unova and taking care of the Belford property. The Land is pretty wide and you are supposed to take care of the Berry Ranch. A Farmland for Berries and Ranch for various Pokemon. Your current state is of being a twelve year old, in two months thirteen. You didn¡¯t make any Journey until now or got any Starter Pokemon. Chapter Two: The Plot of Land you have is pretty vast. Currently you are South of Celadon City, and South from you is the Ocean. A big Part of it is owned by you, since no one else used it. The Soil is optimal so you should be able to plant most Plants. There is also an invisible Ward for now, keeping any Dangerous Pokemon out. Especially Grass Pokemon will like it there. Chapter Three: There shouldn¡¯t be much Explanation needed on how to catch Pokemon. Still, be warned that just catching one won¡¯t make it your Friend or trust in you. The other Point is, that you can keep as much Pokemon as you want on your Farm. Normally, it would break a Law, but not for you. Which only applies to the keeping of Pokemon. You can legally keep Region restricted Pokemon on your Ranch, but if you are forbidden of Catching them, then it¡¯s still forbidden for you. Chapter Four: The various Berries you currently have on your Ranch. There are currently Six different types, native to Kanto or from Unova breed: -Oran Berry, an acquired Taste with universal healing Ability. -Pecha Berry, very sweet and detoxifying. -Nanab Berry, bitter sweet with a slight calming Effect. Should make it easier to catch Pok¨¦mon¡¯s. -Sitrus Berry, mild taste and better Healing effect then the Oran Berry, but needs a bit more attention for less Haul. -Lum Berry, a mixed Bag without sourness, and a Cure to most Status Conditions. Hot commodity for Gym Challenger. -Hondew Berry, a tangy Flavour of bitter and spicy, a bit herb. Special Attacks are slightly weakened a bit after eating it raw, but great for making Friends with other Pokemon. Chapter Five: You will find some Shelves inside the House. Cooking in the Dinning/Kitchen Room, Common Sense in the Lounge and most other in the Study Room. You could be reading stolen content. Head to Royal Road for the genuine story.Get slowly acclimated to the new World of Pokemon. Also, you need to register in your Pok¨¦dex as User. The first Time Password is 9876, which you will have to change afterwards. Chapter Six: Since you don¡¯t know anything, and then don¡¯t even have a Way of selling things, you got some Equipment which can relive you of the Burden. There are Mainly Machines for Processing the Berries, but also some other Gadgets which can be useful. Also a TM machine, for making your own TM¡¯s for sale, if interested. Additionally, the most important machines for now will be the static safe-keeper, keeping Pokeball in a greater Stasis, with a Pouch of similar Use. A Bag with greater Capacity (not uncommon in these Worlds, but a bit pricey) and and automatic Marketing machine, with which you are allowed to sell your own Products directly, even when there is a quantity Limit. Chapter Seven: This one is connected to the unlimited Pokemon you can keep on your Ranch. I want to ask you of keeping the Pok¨¦mon¡¯s of a Girl called Vanessa, of which Pokemon you will have a shared Ownership when send to your Ranch. She is a diamond in the Rough, and I want to make her fully unfold her wings. You¡¯re treated as Cousins, even though your supposedly shared Blood goes back to a Grand-Grandma. It¡¯s possible to reject her if you want, since you have no obligation and the seat back won¡¯t be to significant for her. But you can ask of the Pokemon to Help you on the Ranch as long as they are there. Good Luck in this different, but hopefully wonderful World -Arceus. It took a Minute stupidly sitting around without anything happening until she kinda woke up from her Stupor. She stood up and making her Way to the door, directly accessible from the Hallway leading into the Dinning Room. Shortly after going through the door less passage in between, she turns around and picks up the Pok¨¦dex. Registering and setting a Password she won¡¯t easily forget, then making her way again, this Time more put together. As she left the House, she sees a breathtaking View. Various Trees and some Bushes are placed in a Field near the House, looking beautiful. Oran Berries on very big Bushes, Sitrus Berries on Tress looking similar to lemon Trees and Nanab Berries growing in bunch near the Crone of a Tree. Not to far, Water is flowing looking perfect tranquil, as if is coming from a pure Mountain Spring. Inside it are some Pokemon. Sabrina Recognises some Poliwag playing in the Water in tiny Groups, some Feebas hiding in the Shadows of the Growth hanging over the Water, and even some Magikarp. One of them catches her Attention as it pokes his Head outside the Water, seemingly watching her. The Crown like Ornament on top of his Head has a tiny Scar, if it can be called that. It rather seems like a freshly healed Wound, the usual golden-yellow a bit faint, as if a slashing Attack made a swallow Cut. She always wanted to know what it would feel like to touch. As Curiosity takes over, she slowly begins to hover her Hand of its head. The Magikarp doesn¡¯t react, which reminds Sabrina a bit of Slowpoke. A bit before touching its head, the Magikarp suddenly begins to glow. Stunned, Sabrina is squatting at the edge of the Water. Before suddenly remembering in what Magikarp Evolves and what kind of reputation Gyarados has. So she turns around and sprints with all her might. But she took to long, as the glowing silhouette rapidly expands the shine began to diminish. And it revealed a mighty Gyarados, anger written all over its Face. It roared, making its present known. Any Pokemon in the vicinity began to Flee. Sabrina fell over, the might of the Roar pushing her Over. As she looked back, she saw how most Pokemon in the River either fled in all direction the skies know or tried to hide even deeper in the Shade of Vegetation. And the Blue Creature locked Eyes with her. She suddenly felt an immense Weight in her Shoulder, stoping her from running away. 2. Saying Hi to Celadon City Not to far away from the Ranch, Officer Jenny makes her Way. She wanted to check on citizens on Celadon City, at least registered as one. It would be hard to really see her as one, considering she lives so far away from the actual City. After half an hour walking, she already sees the House from the Distance. But suddenly, she sees a familiar Light in the Distance, which quickly forms an well known Pokemon. And a Roar follows. Officer quickly increases her Stride, until she sprinting with all her might. After a bit of hesitation, she releases two Pokemon. ¡±Spearow, look around for any Human near here, there is presumably one. Growlithe, you too, drag anyone you can find outside of the Danger Zone!¡± Both Pokemon took on an withe glowing hue, until they made their way in great Speed. Officer Jenny has two other Pokeballs ready, which will only find use if she got near enough. In her Dash, she sees how Growlithe bite into the sleeve of a Girl and dragging her away, the girl barely able to stand on her legs. Spearow took it courageously on himself to distract the Gyarados. ¡±I don¡¯t have enough Time for that! Electabuzz Thundershock! Don¡¯t hold back!¡± ¡±E Electa!¡± Electabuzz doesn¡¯t need any more to get to work. He begins to attract the attention of it quickly with its Attack. Only two out of three hit, as Gyarados dodged one barely, without having suffered from Paralysis. Officer Jenny reached near enough to call Spearow and beim closer then Sabrina, without being an to obvious target. ¡±Gloom, come out! You know the Drill!¡± Without further command, Gloom and Spearow got to work. The Gyarados is practically a new born, despite all its rage, it never actually fought. So it didn¡¯t know what came for it as Gloom produced Sleeping Powder, with Spearow guiding it with Wing Attack. Slowly, it begins to feel sleepy, still focused in Electabuzz without noticing it stopped its Attacks. The Operation shouldn¡¯t go awry by Paralysing it before putting it to sleep. Finally, it began to sleep. Even with comparative little damage Done. It seems it didn¡¯t even consider at first going out of the River. The surrounding Vegetation is a bit damaged and the River around that particular Part was widened a good bit, as it still, tried tail-attacks and Bites. ~~a few Hours later~~ ¡±Ugh, where am I?¡± ¡±Chansey! Chan Chansey!¡± ¡±Chansey?¡± ¡±You¡¯re awake.¡± ¡±Nurse Joy?¡± ¡±Yes, Officer Jenny found you as your Ranch was attacked by Gyarados. She rescued you and captured it, before any mor Damage could be done. We examined you and couldn¡¯t find anything wrong with your body, but you must have been tired after what happens today.¡±If you spot this story on Amazon, know that it has been stolen. Report the violation. ¡±Yes, I was just going for a walk and then suddenly a Magikarp evolves.¡± Sabrina doesn¡¯t know herself how she came up with the lie of going for a walk so quickly and naturally, but can¡¯t really bring herself to care. Alone the Memories of the sudden Evolution and its intimidating Presence left her shivering. Her first Day, even her first perceived Hour in another World and she got to face on of the most terrible Creature possible. ¡±Freshly Evolved? That at least explains some things.¡± ¡°Aehm, how is Officer Jenny doing?¡± ¡±Good, great actually. Recently some more Troublemaker got here. The next Journey is about to start in a Month, so they want to semi establish themself, hoping to get something good. Like earning Pokedollars by battling unsuspecting New Trainer or offering some slightly overpriced Items, maybe even trading Pokemon. But only a few still have the Guts to act that openly and confident when a single Officer subdued a Gyarados.¡± ¡±I see, at least no everything was bad.¡± ¡±Oh, no. The incident didn¡¯t really go bad. If I may say so, only one Person in damage zone, uninjured and no noticed property damaged is one of the best track records there probably are. At least were people live.¡± ¡°Okay. Good to know at least my knew Home didn¡¯t get damaged before I even got to sleep in there. But I should be going.¡± ¡±A wait, here is your Trainer License! And from what I know, you are supposed to choose a Starter Pokemon. Since we don¡¯t have any place were you could Source one, we are supposed to get you into contact with Professor Oak. It seems he can give you one of the normal Kanto Starter, or an Chikorita if you are interested. Especially since you also plant Nanab Berries, he seems to want have some exemplars of if there is a difference of ones that were grown with its help. Well, mainly if the plant reanimating Effect of Meganium¡¯s scent can affect them. And other Berries, he just seems very interest in a Pokemon calming berry.¡± ¡±Oh, oh okay. Can I go into Contact now?¡± ¡±Yes, no Problem.¡± Later Sabrina stood before one of the communication Stations, with which she could even trade Pok¨¦mon¡¯s. She also got a simple Bag, containing Antidote, Healing Potions and three Pokeballs. One of the Pokeballs will soon contain her first Pokemon. Despite all what happened until know, Sabrina just began to feel anticipation for it, and fear. A giddiness to experience something that should be impossible, joy of soon having a Partner in a way she would have never considered. And Fear, of having reality crash down. What are Pokemon? Will she really able to hold the truth? It won¡¯t go the way she hopes, she know it herself. Her view is to self-centred, not leaving enough room to consider her Pok¨¦mon¡¯s feeling. She will have to pull back. The Gyarados comes to her Mind again. A Knot forms in her Stomach. Hope for to much and the disappointment will be on you, anticipate the Worst, and you will only feel better afterwards. Shaking her Head, she begins to connect the call. And the first thing she sees is the Visage of a Bulbasaur. It curiously looked into what is probably the Display showing her Face. In the Background is a Charmander lazily sitting on a desk, probably positioned to show all the Starter, and a Squirtle seemingly scolding the Bulbasaur. ¡±Pfffft, Professor Oak, it seems I remember your Appearance wrong.¡± ¡±Ah indeed, I seem to be a little green in the Face today.¡± Grabbing the Bulbasaur and sitting it on the table, while shoving a chair forward, is Professor Oak. Typical appearance of an aged friendly-natured Man. Instead of Wrinkles, he seems to just have that many laughing Lines. On his Lap is a Chikorita, seemingly searching from its elevated Position for something to play with. ¡±Sorry for the Delay, it seems someone already figured out how to answer an incoming call.¡± ¡±I don¡¯t mind. The little one must be quite proficient with Vine Whip if he could pull of such a Feat.¡± ¡°Bul Bulbasaur!¡± ¡±Yeah, very impressive! Do you train it regularly?¡± ¡±basaur.¡± ¡±Oh, could you say that again with more Conviction?¡± ¡±Ah, sorry if I interrupt, but you two seem to be on the same Wavelength. Would you like to choose your Starter? And I would like to ask an Favour.¡± ¡±Does it have something to do with Hyperactive Pokemon?¡± ¡±Yes, how did you know?¡± 3. First Pokemon and calming Talk! ¡°Nurse Joy already informed me that your Focus seems to lie in the combined effect of Nanab Berry and Meganium. Rather, their calming effect of each. But how you plan to combine both is a bit of a Mystery.¡± ¡±Well, then I quickly explain that one. Meganium¡¯s Flower produces little tiny pollen on its petals. I have the hope that pollen can carry over some of that calming effect.¡± ¡°Huh, will that even work? I mean, one of the Pollen is from a Pokemon right? And it doesn¡¯t seem like it creatures them from any purpose, more like a body function that degenerated with Time.¡± ¡±Exactly! You know Tropius, right? There is a Theory ongoing that they both stem from the same Pokemon, or that their ancestor were in a Relationship! When Plants aren¡¯t hermaphroditic, they are divided in male and female, with the Male producing pollen for the Female. And most of the Meganium are Male, while fairly, Tropius gender division is more equal than that but!¡± ¡±Professor Oak. I understand that the Theory is fairly exciting, but honestly, I have Problems following it. Moreover, I would rather choose Bulbasaur if I am allowed to.¡± ¡±Oh, yes yes, I would never deny someone¡¯s decision. It seems I was a bit hasty there.¡± ¡±No harm done. But I want to clarify, there is a good chance that a previous from of the Meganium we know today used it¡¯s pollen to source offspring. With that, there is a silver of Hope that this pollen will carry on some kind of Gene Code which will add more of the calming effect the Nanab Berry already has. What is confusing is, how the smell of the Flower should help to make something to taste or eat more calming.¡± ¡±Well, opposed to, let¡¯s say Repel which is pure stinking chemical, the smell of Meganium is more ¡®magical¡¯, let¡¯s say. It¡¯s more similar to Moves which inflict a Status Conditions then, well, chemicals. The Same for Nanab Barry, which is probably why it¡¯s so universal. We don¡¯t know the full extent it could go, so I wanted to make some experiments to at least define if it worked or not. From there, we can find out why it worked or didn¡¯t worked, of we can make it work and more.¡± ¡±So, short story. You tried to mix together two different forms of Magic and look if something happens?¡± ¡±Yes, many leaps in the science of Pokemon were made that way, to my defence.¡± ¡°Okay, and why Nanab Berries, when they already have a calming effect?¡± ¡±Because I kind of got stuck with truly unruly Pokemon, so I would like to search for a Solution.¡± ¡±You know that it doesn¡¯t work that fast?¡± ¡±Oh now, I already secured a fast way, it just got me thinking of there is a better Way somehow. And then I talked to colleagues, talked about new theories or how I help a new trainer to get a starter and so on. It got us all fired up, trying to cultivate maybe even a complete different fruit.¡±If you find this story on Amazon, be aware that it has been stolen. Please report the infringement. ¡±Can you say Berry? It gets me thinking what is a fruit and what is a berry. And as what Nanab Berry counts. Not as if we never called a Plant as something wrong in its Name.¡± ¡±True, now I am curious too. Anyway, I guess I talked to much, even as you already made your choice. Sure that I can¡¯t interest you in a cute Chikorita?¡± ¡±I am Sure of that.¡± ¡±Okay, here we go.¡± Professor Oak puts Bulbasaur in his Pokeball and puts it at where probably he needs to put it on the Terminal. Sabrina herself puts an empty Pokeball in a fitting Slot, agreeing to a trade request from Professor Oak. At the bottom of the screen, a bar pops up, showing how far the transfer progressed. After reaching 100%, Sabrina waits for another message, congratulating for the trade and indicating for her she can pick her Pokeball up. Hastily, she picks it up and holds it forward. After a bit of pressing both sides together and then releasing the pressure, she released Bulbasaur without throwing the Ball. ¡±Bul Basaur!¡± ¡±Yes, you are now here.¡± ¡±Ba!¡± The little Pokemon seems to overjoyed of being under Sabrina¡¯s care now. With fast steps and a jump, it pseudo-tackled her and she quickly sits down on the terminal again. ¡±If he didn¡¯t get lively! He didn¡¯t seem to be as happy when he was with me!¡± ¡±I am glad when seems to like me.¡± ¡±Haha, he really seems so. I have to cut of the call by now. Maybe we see each other again!¡± ¡±By!¡± ¡°Bu!¡± As the call cuts off, Bulbasaur begins to lies his Vines in Sabrina¡¯s hand, and the two began to play. Bulbasuar is happy to have such a nice Trainer, that wouldn¡¯t go on an excessive Journey to battle everyone. Older Pokemon told him a lot of the Journeys, including some tricks and Moves he should try to learn. Which doesn¡¯t sound to bad, but wouldn¡¯t it be better to be able to just relax? Not knowing what kind of thoughts said Trainer currently has. I got a Pokemon! I got a real Pokemon! It¡¯s unbelievable, just yesterday I would have beloved it, but here I am! Playing with a Bulbasaur! And I have so many plans to one which to catch next. Sabrina found that cash was already transferred to her License, quite a bit even. But she will have to stock up and also buy food for her Pokemon. Deciding to have an early Dinner and then going shopping for everything she needs. Her previous Experience giving her enough judgement to know what to buy and who to ask for help. Finally, Trainer and Pokemon set off to their new Home. Because they bought so much, both of them had an Idea shortly after leaving the City. Lying the Bag with heavy goodies down, the most sturdiest at the bottom, binding it and then dragging it behind. They use Bulbasaur¡¯s Vine whip, as Sabrina is a bit to tall to drag it along the ground without crouching. It ripped, in the end. But it ripped only shortly before the goal, so both see it as a Win. Bulbasaur, a bit tired now, decides to take a nap at her trainer Lap, who scribbles something down in the study room. Sabrina meanwhile, pats the little ones head and writes down which Pokemon she can potentially catch in Kanto. The List is only for an overview, from which she has to choose a few, since she can¡¯t support so many Pokemon. Kanto: Tauros (Transport), Charmander, Squirtle, Caterpie, Weedle, Pidgey, Sandshrew, Cleffa, Vulpix, Oddish, Paras, Venonat, Diglett (Trap), Growlithe, Poliwag, Abra, Geodude, Ponyta, Slowpoke, Magnemite, Shellder, Gastly, Voltorb, Exeggcute, Chansey, Tangela, Horsea, Scyther, Lapras, Eevee, Dratini, Tauros (Transport). Tauros was more of an Afterthought after remembering todays Journey. Problem? She can¡¯t take care of so many Pokemon. Which reminds her of Vanessa. Something to deal later with. If she had to cut down, the it will end in¡ Squirtle, Pidgey, Diglett, Abra, Ponyta, Magnemite, Chansey, Scyther. Then trying it to cut down to five, Squirtle, Diglett, Pidgey, Chansey and Ponyta. That would fill her Team. And she could still catch an Scyther helping on her Farm. Yes, let¡¯s do it like that. With that, Sabrina looks out of the Window. ¡±Huh, I guess I still have Time to at least take a bit care of the Plants.¡± 4. How to pluck Berries and the Power Plant! True to his Words, in the Study are various Books. I don¡¯t know if someone really wrote a book with the Titles ¡°Lowest Level Basics of Berry Farming for Dummies.¡± or Arceus created it. Both are bizarre, but for my own Sanity, I don¡¯t consider that a god-like existence seriously studied on how to Pluck Berries. With Hands. On the other Hand, the Book is well written, explaining things in an easy to understand manner and the Illustrations also aren¡¯t that hard to understand. Some books depict pictures were one can¡¯t really make heads or heels what is depicted wenn one isn¡¯t already knowledgable in that area. There is also lightly touched on why it is so, but only in keywords, which would make it easier to search for the topic without gaining half-baked Knowledge. Overall, the Book is great. Something truly made for beginners. I only skimmed over most the information for now. Even the table of contents is very well made, making it easily distinguishable what gives information on what to watch out and were what is explained. The Book is definitely worth a complete read. Especially since there are exercises and tips on healthcare mentioned, which one should follow for a comfortable farming Life. ¡°Bulbasaur, would you help me out?¡± ¡±Ba?¡± ¡±Picking some Berries, some seem already ripe.¡± ¡±Bulba!¡± Without further Delay, both of them made their Way. The Study is in the second Floor, on the first is a Storage Room. In the Storage Room they found some Baskets, big enough that they probably wouldn¡¯t need more then two to get todays Haul. Sabrina also noted Basket which can be carried on the back, still woven and with the hole on top. And a bag, being able to be slung over one shoulder and be at hip height in the other. The Design is like a cute drawing of Eevee, while the inside has many doodle-like Pokemon pictures. Weird, she has the feeling to have seen more Pok¨¦mon¡¯s on the side then the side of the Bag should be able to hold with its reasonable pacing. Probably the pseudo Bag of Holding mentioned in the Booklet. With two Hand-held Basket at one Hand, the the carried by Vines, they made their Way to the little Plantation for the berries. The Trees have some space in between, most to high to reasonable reach them. She could probably go for most low hanging Pecha Berries, with something to stand on most Nanab Berries. Nanab Berry Tree looks like it couldn¡¯t decide between being a fruit tree or a palm, as it doesn¡¯t branch as often as the other trees, and the branches also have more rarely branches. But on every end a wide shade forms, as palm like leaves circle around it, even when smaller then real palm trees. Sabrina has the feeling it has more to do with the fact that the Tree is comparatively small to an actual palm. Only now notices Sabrina that she is even a good bit tall. While a good bit older then twelve or thirteen, she was still sixteen years old in her past world. But the height difference isn¡¯t big enough to confuse her. At least not completely, but she is still smaller than before. Anyway, Sitrus, Lum and Hondew Trees are too big for her to reach any Fruit. Maybe when she has one of those tiny platforms to step on for children, she could reach lowest ones. This book was originally published on Royal Road. Check it out there for the real experience. But when her sight isn¡¯t deceiving her, or the book, then they still need a bit before being completely ripe. So she turns her Attention to the most numerous and easiest to harvest, Oran Berry. Even though she is pretty sure, they to, were growing on trees, here, they grow on bushes. It could be she is mistaken, but Sabrina believes there was an Episode Pokemon were they plucked berries, Oran Berries for one, and somehow angered some Pokemon? The details are blurry, but technical, in the Pokemon of her old world, ten year old could harvest them. But she also played Legends:Arceus, and there were berry trees that had to be shaken by Pokemon. On the other Hand, every tree looked the same. Well, maybe she shouldn¡¯t compare Anime, Game and Reality, just being thankful for the plentiful harvest of Berries. Since Every Bush has more fruits then the biggest Tree, while being placed closer together, making it even more berries for the same Space. Wait, do Berries grow on Trees? No, stupid. Cherries are Berries. Or are they? Weren¡¯t they drupes or something? Which doesn¡¯t actually mean anything, being a drupe and a berry shouldn¡¯t be mutually exclusive. Or are they? Ahhhh, that¡¯s the Problem with School! We learn what kind of unicellular is what and why and so on, how worms live and so on, but things one would actually need in live are something one needs to find out themself! What do they expect? That I will one day be able to see the smallest kind of creature in existence and then having Problems identifying them? *Deep Breathing* ¡±Bulb?¡± ¡±Sorry, just kinda got of track. I should just pick Berries.¡± Carefully, she plucks the Oran Berries. Not much needed to do so. Just pull them off, no trying of imbalanced force pulling them or twisting it off. They come of easily and are sturdy enough for a berry that even a bit more grip strength won¡¯t crush them. Probably related to what Professor Oak said about the Berries also having some of the Mystic Energy like Pokemon. A single piece can lie comfortably in the Hand. While not entirely boring, even a bit serene, Sabrina¡¯s thought again began to wander around. Magnemite. She would like to go to the Power Plant if possible. Catching one there feels a bit special and much more guaranteed then going along the paths. Even Pikachu, Grimer and Voltorb, Electabuzz, plus evolution would be there to find. But there are multiple catches to it. First is Zapdos. Not going to provoke a legendary bird. Second is, it¡¯s an abandoned place with still running Machinery. If that doesn¡¯t sound like it¡¯s filled with electric hazards, then she doesn¡¯t know what is. Last is, Voltorb and Electrode. In the Anime, they showed an Behaviour of exploding when provoked. Dangerous, Self-Destruction and Explosion was it? Explosion is better but needs an higher Level for acquisition or something. And then there is the hidden Ability of them, which fits them to a T. Aftermath only damages someone by physical contact, but I am not so optimistic to think it won¡¯t explode when beaten. It can just be that the radius is so small, which is why it has that mechanic. Abilities. There is Damp, blocking Self-Destruction and Explosion, also Aftermath if someone has it. Lightning Rode protects the Pokemon from Lightning Damage while redirecting it. But if the Voltorb¡¯s and Electrode don¡¯t explode, then I don¡¯t see myself having much of a chance. I believe those two not only used lighting attacks, but various other attacks using its ball like bodies and sound-based ones. Ah, it¡¯s nice to chew out a Problem to distract oneself, but I won¡¯t be going, no matter what I think I have as an Solution. First, it¡¯s still super risky, I already will need two Pok¨¦mon¡¯s for there ability to not get overrun by Voltorb and Electrode, not considering the other living there. And supposedly, I could have a short meeting with Zapdos, a Pokemon with a permanent pissed Visage. Grimer and their Poison, Magnemite, Pikachu, Electabuzz. Yeah, sounds tough. Well, a Pokemon with Lightning Rode would probably be Rhyhorn, a Ground/Rock type. It actually wouldn¡¯t be a bad fit for the Power Plant. But still, I should stop thinking about it. ¡±Bulbasaur!¡± 5. Machinery and Shopping! Bulbasaur and Sabrina didn¡¯t manage to pluck all Berries, but that fine. They worked a bit into the Evening and managed three bushes. Every Bush has a good bit of height, standing as tall as an adult Male. But given the Size of Oran Berries, they didn¡¯t bear more fruits than Raspberries. Well, they still had more Volume. And Mass. ¡±Huh.¡± I knew already that the baskets are big, but the weight somehow feels less than I guessed it to be? Not less, more like, am I stronger then I imagined? Hmm, well I Carrie pretty big shopping Bags. Thinking bag, they seemed the standard Size. Should I have noticed it sooner? ¡I still have some books on common sense im the Lounge, if I remember right. The Duo goes rather merrily inside the House. There, they pause for a bit, since Sabrina doesn¡¯t know where the Machinery for processing is supposed to be. Because trying doesn¡¯t hurt, Sabrina walks inside the Kitchen Room, a place where it would sense if they are close. Inside a door, hidden by Furnitures to see it from the entrance and dinning table, opposite the kitchen is a pastry. Sabrina notes that she should have placed the food in there. Probably. The Kitchen is actually fine for now. And to the right is a comparable small Room, six to seven metres in each direction? Not to small for a Room, but the second smallest one inside the big Farm House by now. First is the highly likely Guest Toilet. She still needs to find the Bathroom. Pokechowinator, Super Duper Drier, Marmaladiaor, Cand-o-mat, Treatserinator and so on. Each somewhere between 30 cm and half a metre wide, going up somewhere between her collarbone or chin. There is on everyone machine a tiny Panel, giving a good overview of what is needed and how much overdue of the standard recipe is. Or lacking, in that Case. Only the drying, Marmalade and Candy machine need berries and maybe Sugar. Sabrina decided to dry three fourths of the Oran Berries, with the Rest getting made into Marmalade. It could be that there are other Machines that won¡¯t need more than Berries, but decided that she can inspect the exotic Machines another Day. And with that, Bulbasaur and Sabrina go to sleep, with a peaceful first Night. Sabrina does have some Problems at first, fearing that maybe another Magikarp evolves and catches her off guard. But feeling Bulbasaur shifting and even try to snatch the Blanket calmed her down in a weird way. It ended as she cuddled with Bulbasaur and wrapped both of them under the Blanket. The Next Day, early in the Morning, both of them plucked Berries again. Bulbasaur showed of his Moves. Tackle, Growl, Vine Whip and Take Down. Only Basic ones, but that¡¯s completely fine. But Sabrina had to cheer the sulking Pokemon a bit up. Afterwards, they checked out the Machines, and to their Surprise, the actual Product is nearly complete. It seems she needs either a stainless steel Box or silicon wrapping, or take out all the dried fruits as they. Same for Marmalade, she doesn¡¯t have any glasses to but them in. Sabrina would punch herself for being so careless, what if the Quality deteriorated because of this? So she made her Way again for the City. Bulbasaur was less then excited by the prospect, being carried in the Pokeball for a change. With the Space Bag hung over her Shoulder, Sabrina makes her way back to Celadon City. This Time in a more hurried gait, to be a bit faster. After a good while walking, she finally reaches the City. Wondering where she might have to go. You could be reading stolen content. Head to Royal Road for the genuine story.PokeMart? No, that is a Pokemon Supermarket. The Player just never had to use a normal one. So, following the Wisdom of Old, when you don¡¯t know, then Ask! After a bit of Questioning some friendly old People, she ended up on a Supermarket on the smaller scale. It Isn¡¯t run down or anything, even well cared, but, how to say it? A lot less attention grabbing then a Supermarket should be. Were other have colourful signs or are pure white, this one looks like a normal Building, when not housing. Straight Facade without much more, but some pots with Flowers. The Colour scheme is nice, with darker colours for the walls and lighter ones for most else. Even pretty clean, looking very much like it isn¡¯t to long since it was painted. But the Building overall doesn¡¯t seem to be freshly renovated or similar. Huh, the assortment seems to be placed weirdly. The Pokechow for specialised Pokemon is near camping gear, but households one near household products? Is it deliberately placed so that things one would need too, aren¡¯t to far away. While not a bad marketing strategy, wasn¡¯t it proven better when one needs to go through the whole Market and be tempted to buy more? And variety is lacking, two different Tomato Sauce, one Ketchup variety. No, red easily falls in the Eye. But even a closer look doesn¡¯t prove the opposite. Even the bottom of the shelves are empty. And they aren¡¯t to high, I can see from here where the boxes and warnings are. Sabrina goes through the Shelves, which are placed orderly. A detail she didn¡¯t notice, even though it to stands opposite from the half-mazes most Supermarkets have. Quickly packing five, then one more box from stainless steel with Poliwag print and some dozen Wrappins from silicon. She notices that Candy Wrappings also went to far, quickly packing six foils. As she walks over near the kitchen wares, she takes 23 glasses. Most that she can Selfe balance. ¡±Thank you for your Purchase.¡± ¡±Hey, eh¡¡± The Clerk is a normal black haired Boy, roughly fifteen years old. He is polite and has a neat attitude. Even though he put Sabrina a bit of, as he seemed to move in practiced Motions. No matter what he did, his head moved fitting for the Motion, but his eyes didn¡¯t. They were always relative to his head as they were when he stood straight since she entered. ¡±The Arrangement is a bit weird for a Supermarket. It¡¯s neat, in a Way, and less waste of Time and subconsciously manipulation to buy something. What would be a good word? It¡¯s very User Friendly?¡± The Boy quickly puts on a Smile. While not looking quite fake, or like a polite smile of sorts, it seems very practiced. Even the motion of moving the mouth seems to be practiced in the Mirror, like a trained behaviour when hearing something joyful. And only the Mouth moved. The Boy didn¡¯t seem to have made any other Movement then that. ¡±Indeed. Our Family praises itself by having supplied the residents of Celadon City since Generation with high Quality Products. Fair Pricing, only the best Products available choose to sell here and being as friendly as possible to put Customer. That does include not confusing them with high shelves built as a Maze or making them buckle for satisfactory Products. And end of our Products is Satisfactory.¡± ¡°Okay, that¡¯s weird. It felt much more like free speaking now then the Thank you. But one normally doesn¡¯t say sentences like that when speaking freely.¡± ¡±Excuse me if that was disturbing. I will train myself to do it better.¡± ¡±No need, not like it was bad.¡± ¡±We don¡¯t want to feel that Customer are put off.¡± ¡±Ugh.¡± Why must people be so stubborn on weird Places. ¡±You know, of you want to be a troublesome Person, do it. Not mine wasted effort.¡± Sabrina turns around to leave, having already payed. She feels bad for saying it, but she doesn¡¯t want to give the impression she genuinely felt it was bad. It is a good Service, no Problem, but some people just have a filter over things. And through the same filter will also the story be told. At least people hearing the Story won¡¯t misunderstood. Expect, she didn¡¯t got to take another Step. ¡±Could you please tell why am I troublesome?¡± Directly before her is the Boy who was just behind counter, pleading in his Eyes. Still looking directly forward. 6. Jerome and Vanessa! ¡°Okay Okay, calm down!¡± ¡±I am Sorry. I overreacted.¡± ¡±That¡¯s fine. Can you at least tell me what is your Problem.¡± ¡±I am avoided for being Creepy.¡± ¡±Aren¡¯t the Residents grateful for the Service of your Family? Do they isolate or bully you?¡± ¡±No, all the Residents are amicable, besides most new trainers, which don¡¯t like me because of my quirkiness. Saying things like I am a Creep which I shouldn¡¯t be associated with. Especially some trainer from Saffron City seemed to be scared of me.¡± ¡±Saffron City, as far as I know, has a Psychic as Gym Leader. Supposedly she is also a bit quirky, which can scare People.¡± ¡±Do I look like a Psychic? Should I change to not look like one?¡± ¡±No, rather, I believe they found out that not only Pokemon can have weird Abilities. And that Mind Reading is a scary enough prospect for them to be scared of people who could learn it. Last, is it really that much of a Problem?¡± ¡±Well, I, ahhh, ehm.¡± ¡±You don¡¯t want to b disliked and or are scared of ruining some thin of your Parents?¡± The Boy just meekly nodded his Head, bowing it down to look at the Floor. Even while fidgeting and everting else, his pupils didn¡¯t move one centimetre. Weird, but he seems normal enough. ¡±First and foremost, your pupil doesn¡¯t move or seem to track anything. Which is very weird. What is even more confusing is, how you go through the actions and movements like someone who follows most things with one¡¯s Eye¡¯s. Second, you give of a very artificial impression. Like exercising simple Movements and reciting Sentences when you aren¡¯t flustered. Overall, you don¡¯t give of the mist ¡°humane¡± impression, which scares some people away. Wait, o believe there was a Name for. Something about looking scary the closer it looks human while showing something that isn¡¯t human.¡± With a Snap of her Fingers, Sabrina begins to remember. Already shoved the thought away how weird it is to share the name with a real Psychic. The Boy twitches at the Sound, seemingly not having expected it even though he looked at her. ¡±Uncanny Valley! I believe that was the Name. Well, if it is you natural Habit to act like that, then most things are probably for naught. The closer you go to a complete ¡°normal¡± behaviour, the more people will be scared off by you. And even though I can¡¯t say it for an 100%, the parts that stand out as ¡°quirks¡± are part of you, so they will probably be part of you forever.¡± ¡±I see. So it¡¯s useless?¡± ¡±No? I mean, hat do you need from passing by Trainers and tiny Brats who didn¡¯t even made their Journey?¡± ¡±Well, the Market doesn¡¯t get much visited by starting out Trainer. Only middle aged or older People buy here. Which are all Residents. It¡¯s not bad, but if fear that I cost my Parents Customer and by extension Money.¡± ¡±Well, do you know what an average Trainer buys here?¡± ¡±Pokeballs, Healing Potions, Antidote, TM¡¯s, Battler Pokechow.¡±Find this and other great novels on the author''s preferred platform. Support original creators! ¡±The Place is pretty easy to view, and i see none of them here.¡± ¡±My Parents probably don¡¯t buy them since I scare away the Customer Base anyway.¡± ¡±Or because it¡¯s foolish to try to establish oneself against the Poke Mart, which is a Chain Supermarket known all over the World and every trainer knows of it. Where would you go for trainer supplies? This little Shop or the very familiar Chain that you know from everywhere else. Listen, you must be pretty stupid if you think Business is all about selling things. If you can¡¯t fight someone, then don¡¯t fight.¡± ¡°? But wouldn¡¯t it be more Profit if we would sell more?¡± ¡±Then make a little Experiment. Ask you Parents if you can Showcase some Pokeballs. Buy maybe like three from your own Money. They will be yours, the Price will be yours and so on. Since you seem to be helping out and not hired, you shouldn¡¯t be paying taxes for now. Meaning you can buy Pokeballs from the Mart and sell them for the same Price, without loss. You can look how many are sold after a week, a month, maybe two. When it then doesn¡¯t go into your thick skull, then I don¡¯t know.¡± Sabrina sidestep the Boy a bit dumbfounded and confused. He didn¡¯t react to her passing him, not giving away if he is in thought or just simply staring, unmoving. Subconsciously, Sabrina raises her head a bit higher, giving of the optimal Picture of an Unova Girl the Kanto natives have. Just to have her Nose planted perfectly for the door to crash against it as someone rapidly opens it. ¡±Jerome! Did it arrive? Did it?¡± ¡±Vanessa! Yes, everything packaged and ready. And why did you crash into the girl?¡± Sabrina was completely ignored, even though the intruding girl should have felt some resistance. She just stormed past and grabbed the Boys arm, from which she only picked up the name now. Jerome, confused and worried, still answered the Question orderly in a normal pace. Only now it seems to have concurred to Vanessa that she crashed into someone. A bit sheepishly she smiles at Sabrina and offers her a Hand. Taking the helping Hand with one, and holding the bleeding nose with the other, Sabrina stood up. ¡±Hello. Sorryyyyy, I didn¡¯t see you.¡± ¡±Weird, I could swear the door has a big fat glass plane in its middle. Or the Walls have some. Maybe I am confusing something.¡± ¡±¡Ups.¡± *sigh* ¡±To my defense, I was very excited. Jerome, show the Stuff! I want her to see it.¡± ¡±¡ you aren¡¯t talking about drugs, are you?¡± ¡±What! No! Why do you think so? I got a Sylph Co. Bag and a Pok¨¦dex! Soon, I will begin my Journey!¡± ¡±Here it is.¡± Jerome took something from behind the counter, probably fiddled around with a Lock. Now on the counter, a normal bag with a gray-white for most of it and the bottom compartment and the bottom have a nice yellow-beige. There isn¡¯t any Logo, but a tiny Chain on one of the Straps with Sylph Co. written on a Plate. Besides it is the Pok¨¦dex, looking like a wider Nintendo with its typical Pok¨¦dex Colour scheme. Quickly, Vanessa picks up the little piece of machinery, opening it and fiddling a bit around. As there is no Pokemon to target, she puts it down again and fully opens the Bag. Opposed to the infinity Wall Sabrina saw in her Bag, this one ends in a Black Shadow light doesn¡¯t seem to be able to pierce. ¡±Look, isn¡¯t that pretty Cool?¡± ¡±Vanessa, this Girl has a Space Bag to, a smaller one in which she fit in most of the Purchase.¡± ¡±Really? But I bet you don¡¯t have an Pok¨¦dex as cool as this one.¡± Vanessa waves her new Toy around energetically, not one bit disheartened by the revelation of Sabrina¡¯s space Bag. Deciding that it gets to on her Nerves, she rolls up her Sleeve, showing an even cooler looking Pok¨¦dex. She found out that the Screen can be covered with a Button, which is the same to reveal the little glass plane again. Putting on a nonchalant Face, better then any taunt, she puts her Hand before her chest, placing her arms so that the display faces both of them. ¡±Okay, you have an Pok¨¦dex. But do you already have an Pokemon?¡± *wissshhh* ¡±Bulbasaur!¡± At the Question, Bulbasaur pops up from his Pokeball, which was hidden by Sabrina shirt, which goes over her Belt for Pokeballs. Vanessa still seems to have the same energy and intention of flexing something. But at the sight of the Pokemon, she only stick out her chest and crosses her Arms before it. Not making a move of pulling an Pokemon out herself. After five Seconds, she then decided to use her Pok¨¦dex for the first Time. ¡±Let¡¯s see Let¡¯s see. Bulbasaur, a Kanto Starter, what? Plant and Poison? And it¡¯s the first stage of overall three evolutions?¡± ¡±By the Way, I am Sabrina. I am supposed to meet a Cousin of mine in this City. Would you know any other girl called Vanessa?¡± Vanessa stopped watching the Dex so intently and decided to make her best mix of sheepish grin and puppy eyes. 7. Distant Family and Ranch talks! ¡°No, she is the Person you seek. I was asked a bit before to give someone directions to her Home if they ask after a Cousin called Vanessa or everyone else from her Family.¡± ¡±Welcome to the Family! Welcome Hug?¡± Vanessa opens her arms wide for an invitation for a Hug. It looks like a pretty bad attempt of trying to gloss over a bad first Impression. But Sabrina doesn¡¯t see any reason to decline, since her taunts were only a bit annoying, and not malicious. If she wanted, she could have played it cool, but messing with her would be Cousin was funnier. The little Girl smiles brightly at the Hug, but a bit of Gloom mixes as she notices her forehead gets pressed against shoulder blade and collarbone. Noticing and deciding to be a bit mean, ahem, testing her character, Sabrina teases her a bit. ¡°You¡¯re shorter than I expected.¡± At the Words, Vanessa let go of the Hug and strikes a Pose, with a Fist to the Sky and her other hand on her Hips. ¡±You will see. Soon, I will grow in unmatched Speed!¡± Sabrina stifles her Laugher at the fast Reaction and pose. But she has an Agenda to work on. She still needs supplies form Poke Mart, Pokeballs, Potions, Antidote and Anti-Paralyses. Lum Berry and Sitrus Berry would replace everything expect Pokeballs, but she doesn¡¯t know if that would be a good idea to only rely on that. And last would be a kit to take care of Plant Pokemon. Or a personalised one for Bulbasaur. ¡±Well, I still have some things to deal with, would it be fine if I visit you later.¡± ¡±I can just accompany you. Then we go back together!¡± ¡±Fine.¡± Jerome was gaping a bit. Vanessa was always easy going, which made her amicable but also hard to deal with for some. She would retreat easily of asked for, but many feel being pushed by her, which causes them to unconsciously avoid her. So there aren¡¯t many people she regularly interacts with. But the Girl, Sabrina, just accepts her in a Stride? As someone rather unsocial and immature, he seriously thought they were mocking each other at first. Sabrina and Vanessa quickly browsed through the Poke Mart. Vanessa still has to make her Journey, but she often enough envisioned how it would be as a trainer. So she nearly knew of every Trainer Essential Item in the Mart. Besides that there were Kits for taking care of Pokemon. It¡¯s not like she never saw it, just didn¡¯t gave it any importance. She was a bit shocked, but asked for it was needed. But quickly got silent after Sabrina answered that she can ask Nurse Joy for detailed informations. A bit confused by her Reaction, Sabrina takes a mental note to head her own Advice. The Purchase wasn¡¯t to big, and everything was going fast. In no Time, Vanessa led her to her House. Or her Parents House. It was a nice normal House on could find outside of Big cities. Probably standing there for two three, maybe four generations. Some Flowers were planted in Pots which are hooked at the bottom side of the windows frame, giving it a really nice atmosphere. ¡±This is my Home!¡± ¡±Looks nice.¡± ¡±I know!¡± Both walked inside. What catches Sabrina¡¯s attention is that Persian and Arcanine seem to live inside the House. This content has been misappropriated from Royal Road; report any instances of this story if found elsewhere.Or, well, partly. It seems only the first Floor actually has that much room in every direction. The only doors seems to go to a Pantry and the Stairs are also to small for an overgrown Fire Dog. A Persian is definitely bigger then a common House-cat, but won¡¯t have any problem if everything is Arcanine sized. Everything seems to be designed to be spacious. So there is only a Kitchen/Dinner Room and Living Room from Sabrina¡¯s View, both which could probably house an Snorlax and still have room. Is there even a Toilet on the first Floor? ¡±Mama! Papa! Look who I found. Our long lost Cousin!¡± From the Stairs sound could be heard. At first, it sounds like hurrying and pushing each other. Then, it comes to a pause, a bit of waiting, until relaxed Foot steps came. A Couple, which seems to be a bit past mid twenties cakes down, with a Persian that looks a bit exasperated. Long Before even Vanessa¡¯s Shout ended, a big Window revealed an Arcanine sitting their docile, with wagging Tail. The Woman has a light brown shade for her neck long Hair and Green eyes. Her Face looks like always ready from switching from Kind Smile to ¡°I¡¯ll beat the shit out of you¡± Smile. Meanwhile the Man has a darker brown and shoulder long Hair, a bit of a long Face and look like a nervous Kid NPC 3 has grown up. His Eyes are also a light shade of brown. Presumably the Mother has a Sweater and Jeans, while the Father has a Shirt on open Jacket, with Jeans too. Vanessa takes more after her Mother, while not as light in the Hair colour, she has an even brighter Green for her Eyes. Opposed to how her Mother Hair seem to form perfectly something similar to a Pixie Cut, Vanessa¡¯s Hair seems to be as Voluminous and nice looking as her Fathers. Her Face could also have a switch like her Mothers, but from hyperactive kid Expression to ¡°Ups, I messed Up!¡±. Both would only need minimal change in facial muscles and a glint in their Eyes. ¡°Hello, you must be the child of the Belford Clan!¡± ¡±Yes, Sabrina is my Name.¡± ¡±Come in, Come in, we prepared some Cookies for should we met.¡± Disregarding that she is already inside the House, she goes to the Dining Room as motioned by the Mother. She sat down on the Table and put her Straw Hat down, which she wore the whole Time. Protection from the Sun is and while be Important. She forgot Suncream. The Table is the typical one for four People, which probably came in set with four Chair, as there are four. At Sabrina¡¯s unworried Stride, everyone followed her a bit hastily. Only Vanessa with a spring in her gait while Persian was rather languid. Once there, the Mother seems to less nervous and takes out a cookie box and places it on the Table. Instead of fidgeting, she leans her Arms in the Table and smiles amicable. ¡±So, do you want to talk about something, or should we start about the Ranch?¡± ¡±Well, there isn¡¯t much to talk from my Side. I am fine with Vanessa sending her Pokemon to her Ranch, but it will be limited. And rather heavily for now, since I just don¡¯t have the capacity for most Pokemon, and especially not numbers of them.¡± The Parents smile fell for a bit, which is kind of rude. And even ruder is how one notices that the Mother tries to coax me. One of her Arms is held by the Father, and from their facial expression, he seems to want to dissuade her. But was firmly rejected their. ¡±Well, is it really so? Her Pokemon can help you on the Farm if needed. That alone should make it worth it. Take a cookie if you want.¡± ¡±No, because it¡¯s plainly rude how you want something from me and want to coax me for it. But you don¡¯t respect my Judgement or Will at all.¡± Ah, her Smile froze. Now there is desperation creeping up her Eyes. The Father just shakes his Head. Do they even noticed they wanted to chat with me before introducing themself? Were they that eager to improve their odds of whatever they want? ¡°I am Sorry. We are the one who only gain Benefit from it while you would have to juggle everything around. And you don¡¯t even have any kind of Obligation to us. It might be rude to say, but we tried to make a good impression, which kind of mixed up with coaxing. I sincerely hope that your impression of us won¡¯t hinder any Friendship with Vanessa, especially since she is a separate individual and the one who really is the one who should be in agreement with you.¡± He bows his Head and says so. His tone is sincere and what he says is true. ¡±I never planned to not separate both of you. The Journey¡¯s whole point is to prove oneself, isn¡¯t it? And maybe, the next time you want something from me, you should start with an introduction.¡± Both of them froze for a bit, then fidgeting while being pretty good in synch. They also had the kind of Panic, which isn¡¯t quite Panic, but one thinks of stuff like ¡°I am so stupid! Why didn¡¯t I think of that!¡±. 8. Tauros and further Berry plucking! ¡°Mom and Dad also prepared a Gift for you. They aid it was hard to acquire but then clutched their heads if it is really helpful.¡± ¡±Oh, what kind of Gift?¡± ¡°It¡¯s a Tauros. We catched a Tauros in the hopes you like it and need it. But we only realised afterwards that berry farms don¡¯t need to plow their Field.¡± The Father spoke up to answer the Question. A Tauros, heh? I thought about it for Transport. Between Ponyta and Tauros, both have advantages, in a Way. Ponyta is, well, a Pony, so it won¡¯t carry me far and fast until evolving. Which can and probably will take its Time. So a Tauros would and instantaneous Solution. And while Rapidash would certainly faster, it would be limited to my space Bag. Tauros could probably help carrying things that don¡¯t fit in, but I doubt many things that don¡¯t fit in could be helped by Tauros to be delivered undamaged. Short Story long, for now a Tauros is nice, even though I hope to be able to switch to Rapidash at one point. Oh, and Ponyta/Rapidash can have Run Away, very nice since no one could hinder them Running. Arena Trap of an Diglett or I believe Mean Face? Yeah, that was a Move which can hinder Escape of Pokemon, if I remember right. Diglett Diglett. There was a Place for that. Digletts Cave! That was it! Yeah, I will probably have to look for one there! A Memories come back. Thinking about it, there isn¡¯t any Item like Revive, is there? I didn¡¯t saw one by the Pokemon medical Supplies. Wasn¡¯t there another Pokemon to catch there? Well, that changed from edition to edition, but i will probably only find Zubat and Golbat. Even when Game mechanics place them in the Cave, doesn¡¯t mean they would like living there. ¡±Sabrina? Your a bit dazed right now.¡± ¡±Nah, just thinking. And I should probably say that an Tauros is welcome since I somehow have to get around more efficient.¡± ¡±I see. Glad it can be of any Help.¡± The Father takes a miniaturised Pok¨¦ball from a Belt Pouch gives it to Sabrina. Instead of tucking it on her own Belt, she let it change back to its original Size. ¡±Would you mind if I let it out for a bit?¡± ¡±Heh, No? I mean, it can¡¯t be making a bigger mess that Arcy.¡± ¡±Tauros.¡± ¡±Hello Tauros. I will be your new Trainer from here on. I will mainly ask for rides, if that is fine. I don¡¯t plan to let my Pokemon slack, but I won¡¯t be exactly a Battler. Do you have any problems with that.¡± The Tauros shakes his head, before lying down on the Floor and closing his Eyes. Sabrina doesn¡¯t call him back, as there isn¡¯t any need for it. She sits down again, having stood up for the Conversation. ¡±Tauros is a good Companion, from what I saw, but can be pretty adamant about things.¡± ¡±Like?¡± ¡±Not eating the Pokechow with medicinal use or giving in that he needs Healing.¡± ¡±Hmmm, Tauros, while I might not be able to always get food you want to eat, the pasture and six different kind of berries are an Option. For medical Check Ups, I won¡¯t take a no. Only because some wounds heal by themself doesn¡¯t mean to risk an infection.¡±This story has been stolen from Royal Road. If you read it on Amazon, please report it ¡±Tau.¡± As a Response, the Pokemon only gave of what seems to be a defiant snort. Sabrina decided to deal with that later. She already planned to take it to Nurse Joy after leaving and buying the next Care taking Kit. A sudden thought crosses her Mind. She is bad at throwing. Not to bad, but not precise or fast bough for a normal Pokemon which can see it coming. Haaa, an Issue for later. ¡°Well, I guess I take my Leave.¡± ¡±Can I come to your Ranch, then?¡± ¡±Sure.¡± Why are the Parents always reacting like that? It¡¯s like they¡¯re not trusting to not antagonise me. Ironic, considering they were ruder than her. ¡±I I¡¯ll have to get some more supplies for Tauros now, but after that it¡¯s fine. Do you have a Pokemon who would give you a Ride?¡± ¡±Arcy can give her one. We still have to give her a Starter.¡± ¡±Understood. The Arcanine is your Pokemon, I take it?¡± ¡±Yes, and Nik got an Meowth, since his Family already new he won¡¯t be a big Battler and rather works from Home.¡± ¡±Well, and what is your Name?¡± The Woman flinches a bit at the bit sharper tone, as she tried to sneakily introduce themselves and reveal a bit about their Life¡¯s. ¡±Monica. I am called Monica.¡± With a nod, Sabrina makes her way to the Door, followed by Vanessa. They quickly made their Way back to Poke Mart and Sabrina gave her new Pokeball to Nurse Joy. The Examination ended and Tauros was only half sulky. It tried to fault Sabrina for her sneaky ways, but decided to not let it bother it anymore since she doesn¡¯t seem to repent. Or so it acted, but it was unmovable and didn¡¯t gave a Ride when the Time came. Sabrina called him back shortly afterwards and both of the Girls rode in Arcy, the Arcanine. ¡±Wow, those are¡ less numerous then expected.¡± It¡¯s understandable what she means. For a farm or Ranch, the numbers of trees is indeed rather low. Between ten and twenty per Berry. Those are many for a single Person to attend, but in these world exist Pokemon. Not only can they help in trimming and plucking, but also picking, keeping Vermin¡¯s away or grow trees. Meganium, for example, can help to rejuvenate plants a bit with its scent. And Pokemon or stronger and more enduring, more helpful then any Human. These Numbers especially aren¡¯t much when i am supposed to feed others people Pokemon and can have their help growing them. ¡±Its understandable what will only grow from there. I didn¡¯t have myself established by now, and letting them grow wild before I have the Manpower to properly tend them could make it too much for me to handle. The Number is small but only right for now.¡± ¡±Hmm, so I have to catch many Pokemon who can help you!¡± ¡±Please no. Like I said, I am new to it. I don¡¯t know if I can juggle two such responsibilities, both I am not used to.¡± ¡±Okay. But you only got an Pokemon now, right? Should we both travel the first bit together so that you can at least expand your Team to help you? Ah, but you just got an Tauros. Not that it will any Help.¡± The Pokeball of Tauros wiggles a bit, but Sabrina ignores it. ¡±Would you help me a bit plucking Oran Berries? In a week again, the first Nanab should be ripe and two weeks after that, most other will begin to ripe.¡± ¡±Great! In these Time Frame we can catch Pokemon!¡± ¡±I thought you don¡¯t have any starter until now?¡± ¡±Oh, I got an Pokemon, but I don¡¯t want others to know. Especially my Parents. Jerome knows already, since he helped me to get am Pokeball for it. I will have to pay him back later.¡± ¡±Wan¡¯t me to give you some Money for your help? Won¡¯t be enough to pay for a Pokeball, but every bit counts.¡± ¡±No thanks, I want to make my first Money from Duels!¡± ¡±So you didn¡¯t earn any until know? Not even part time or Summer jobs?¡± ¡±Ah, well, sometimes I helped to mow down the lawn of neighbours, but that doesn¡¯t count!¡± ¡±Okay. What Pokemon did you catch or plan to catch?¡± ¡±A secret! And a Caterpie, I will see from there. And you, any favourite Pok¨¦mon¡¯s or Types you like.¡± ¡±Squirtle, Diglett, Pidgey, Chansey, Ponyta, Magnemite, Oddish, Scyther. The actual list is a bit longer, including Caterpie and Venonat, but roughly like that. For Types, something like that: Grass, Bug, Ghost, Steel. Extra points if it¡¯s Water or Poison too.¡± ¡°That¡¯s a Line up. What does your list roughly look like?¡± ¡±Take the KantoDex, minus everything that can evolve from a previous Pokemon minus some that are hard to take care and then some odd ones.¡± ¡±Oh. Are you some kind of Maniac?¡± ¡±No, the list is made very optimistic. Shoot for the Moon and you reach the Stars.¡± 9. Talk and Pokemon! ¡°Is there any Type you like?¡± ¡±I like every Pokemon! Oh, but I like Dragon especially.¡± Yeah, Dragons. Applin. Who the Heck designed Applin?! Did someone prideful who said ¡°Apple¡± by ¡°Who¡¯s that Pokemon?¡± and had to prove his Point? And it evolves into an Apple Pie! A-P-P-L-E P-I-E! It¡¯s a Dragon Type god dammit! We¡¯re is there a Dragon anywhere? Smolive, the cutie, is a so much better example on how to design them and assign Types. Not like it¡¯s the only one. Tsatsugiri. The uncompleted Japanese Dish as Pokemon. As Dragon Type! What do they think of their fish in Japan, that even catched their still Dragon Type? Ah, wait. Wild fishies can¡¯t become a Dragon. Gyarados is just a simple Water Flying type. Who the hell decided that bullshit? How did the conversation go? ¡®Hey Boss, the Design for the Pok¨¦mon¡¯s inspired by the Myth of a Carp climbing up a Waterfall is completed. We only have to make its attributes, move pool and name.¡± ¡®Make it Water Flying.¡¯ ¡¯What?¡¯ ¡®Make it Water Flying type.¡± ¡®But why? It is clearly a Drago¡¯ ¡¯MAKE IT WATER FLYING!¡¯ ¡¯Okay, sorry Boss. Should we make it fly then?¡¯ *scoffs* ¡®Of course not! That would be stupid. Ever saw a giant oversized sea snake flying?¡¯ ¡¯¡¡¯ ¡¯And don¡¯t let it learn Fly!¡¯ Wonder what the People who made it unable to learn Fly thought when the Bug in Legend Arceus came up. Not that I would ever like to meet an Gyarados again. Thinking about it, maybe it isn¡¯t bad that the thing isn¡¯t Dragon, especially since it makes Electric Attacks four times as effective. But I wonder how Physics work on that one. The more mass it has, the less effect there should be. Using Iron Tail and stick it into the ground also makes one a Lighting Rode completely unbothered by electric attacks. Weird work I live in. ¡±What about you? Liking any Dragon Pokemon especially?¡± ¡±No? Never thought about them like that. Most are pretty cool, so I guess I never ranked them?¡± ¡±Well, that¡¯s understandable. Any Favourites of other Types?¡± ¡±Thats hard to answer. There are Pokemon I like, that I don¡¯t like or like more, but I never could point out a favourite.¡± ¡±Really? Most say Growlithe or Ponyta or Eevee when asked.¡± ¡±Eh, when I find a Pokemon I liege the most, I say it. But I want to see myself rather the Type that appreciates the Pokemon personality instead of Species.¡± ¡±Nice! We can be good friends then!¡± Sabrina and Vanessa already picked everything ripe for picking, and Sabrina stored them away. She can discretely put them into machines after Vanessa left. Vanessa on the other Hand thins she could go along really well with Sabrina. A bit mean but very amicable and open minded. ¡°Want to watch something?¡± ¡±Yes.¡±If you discover this tale on Amazon, be aware that it has been unlawfully taken from Royal Road. Please report it. Both are currently inside the Lounge, with a big TV, Bulbasaur is out of the Pokeball to. He isn¡¯t sleeping, but doesn¡¯t look like wanting to be active any time soon. With a click, the TV is on. Currently is an Ad nearly ending, some kind of yogurt. ¡°I wanna be the very best Like no one ever was To catch them is my real test To train them is my cause¡± ¡°I will travel across the Land ¡°I will travel across the Land¡± Searching far and wide ¡°Searching far and wide¡± Teach Pokemon to understand ¡°Teach Pokemon to understand¡± The Power that¡¯s inside¡± ¡°The Power that¡¯s inside¡± Vanessa was a bit astonished as Sabrina began to sing the Song to, even in a pretty quiet tone. Quickly, she also chimed in, liking the Song too. Sabrina deactivates the TV again after the Song finished, not very motivated to watch the actual series. ¡±You Surprised me. I wouldn¡¯t have thought you would openly sing that.¡± Realising only now, Sabrina scratches shyly behind her ear, ignoring the blush. ¡±Well, I guess after everything, something so familiar had a nice effect on me.¡± Vanessa nods at that. ¡±My Mother often told me that having everywhere a Nurse Joy and Officer Jenny is helpful. On time she was somewhere were not a Nurse Joy worked in the Poke Centre and she felt so much more helpless. Something constant just changed like that and her rhythm was completely thrown off. She always laments how she wasted her Time when she tells me about it.¡± ¡±I never made a Journey, but a place without Nurse Joy is still quite hard to imagine. And I don¡¯t think I have the bias of someone who already did their Journey.¡± Even though she has her Bias from Games and Anime. But that¡¯s somethings different. ¡±Do you plan to challenge to local Gym at one point?¡± ¡±I don¡¯t know for sure, but probably. When I trained my Pokemon to a certain degree I might want to prove myself. And you, staring with this one on your conquest?¡± ¡±Nope, my current Pokemon is a bad Match up. My Parent will probably get me a Growlithe, so that will help. But I would have to familiarise myself with it.¡± ¡±Not one of the typical Starters?¡± ¡±Nope. You probably don¡¯t know but they are more expensive and less likely to be obedient. For Growlithe it¡¯s kind of in their Nature, will they are expensively trained and bred. And it¡¯s much easier to multiply Growlithe, it seems. The Starter Tradition has something to do with Pokemon which lived in great Numbers. Lived in packs or herds, but were caught to disturb them to other Children. My Parents also say that the Breeder purposely increase costs of them breeding and selling. That¡¯s something I don¡¯t fully get.¡± ¡±Maybe some kind of big Company bribed or bribed them? I mean, from how you told me Newley only Growlithe could prove itself. To establish such a Business so fast before competitors could even gain a good foothold needs preparation and much resources. And when they are bred in large numbers then it means much upfront investment before they are sold. Additionally, potential incidents carry a much greater risk. Let¡¯s say a disease. Isolating individuals who are sick will be so much harder before they affect other, and then it needs again Money to cure them. If they aren¡¯t kept in one big places or few big places, but I doubt they will make such an effort.¡± ¡±What do you mean with Bribe? Giving Money for not making Money?¡± ¡±Well, what are Bulbasaur and the other viewed as Starter?¡± ¡±Kinda luxurious, other Kids who have them get prevailed often and stand out.¡± ¡±See, through their Rarity and Impression, may even promoted by the Breeders, People are willing to use more Money. But their Customer Base still shrunk. And the new Customer Base has Individual in the higher side of society. People who have the Money for luxury and want or feel obligated to make an impression. And like mine, it¡¯s not like every Bulbasaur is sold to high earning People. Depending on the Bribe, it¡¯s well worth it. Especially considering the stability their business has now. A Probably fixed income plus sells.¡± After her last Sentence, Sabrina realises something and adds. ¡±I am Sorry, I theorised so much while utterly lacking information and said it with such Conviction. There is no way to prove it wrong or right, right now, so please don¡¯t think it must be really so, maybe it could be so at most.¡± ¡±Nahhh, doesn¡¯t that make kinda sense? The Local Bulbasaur Breeder seems to have changed his Pokechow supplier suddenly to an High-end one. Also the Facade was rebuild and so on and as much more appealing to rich people. Not much Later, Growlithe appeared in the Market for an affordable price. Shortly after Kanto wide all Starter Breeder increased their Prices. Mam and Dad still say that People were really glad for it, and the Auntie next Door still tells from how angry she was at the suddden increase in Price and that a Growlithe Starter is better anyway, her Son having wanted one since ever.¡± ¡±Okay, how did it start from me looking like a conspiracist to looking like there is actually and conspiracy?¡± 10. Product Wholesale ¡°Then it¡¯s a farewell.¡± ¡±Wait a moment, is it fine if I call you Sabby?¡± ¡±¡Fine, but please don¡¯t introduce me like that to others.¡± ¡±Nice! The you can call me Nessa.¡± ¡±M, Goodbye, till tomorrow?¡± ¡±Day after tomorrow, I will have something to do. Goodbye.¡± Vanessa pulls out a Pokeball, which houses her Mothers Arcanine. With practiced Movements, she sits on its bag and it began to run down the way back they came from. Sabrina is leaning on her door frame. Chatting was surprising fun. ¡±Alright, I still have some stuff to do.¡± ¡±Bulba!¡± With Bulbasaur cradled in her Arms, Sabrina puts everything in her Bag. She already checked the machine that is supposed to sell for her. It¡¯s a vending Machine with added Function. Like marking Metal Boxes for Refund Purpose. And it¡¯s locally, so she would have People travel to her Ranch so that they can buy something. Pretty bad if she really wants something to sale. Currently packed in are Boxes of dried Oran Berries, Oran Berries Jam and Treats, some with and without Jam added. The Treats are packed in Boxes too. Their Number should be fine too, considering how long they should last, their usefulness and how long it will take to the next Harvest. As she can¡¯t play clerk herself or feasible hire someone, not even having a Store, wholesaling is the best Option. ¡±Tauros, are you fine now?¡± ¡±Tau!¡± Okay, it¡¯s still mad at me for being examined. At least I put some of them aside for my own use. Let¡¯s see, one of the Vaporeon boxes has treats. There. ¡±Do you want some?¡± ¡±Tau!¡± ¡±Fine, then I have to go to foot. Should I ask Nurse Joy for consultation regarding a stubborn Pokemon.¡± Tauros begins to glare at Sabrina¡¯s obvious act. It feels insulated, but won¡¯t budge just because of some words. Before it could do anything else, it was already called back. The same as Tauros won¡¯t back down, Sabrina doesn¡¯t have the patience to talk to someone who doesn¡¯t want to listen. Even if it¡¯s a Pokemon. True to her words, she began walking, with Bulbasaur either in her arms or putting it down and holding its Vine. She walks inside the City and to the Store which is owned by Jerome¡¯s Family. At best, she can wholesale her stuff there, or can at least give advice on who to sell. This Time behind the Counter is a Woman, with Jerome viele through the window maybe gardening, but more little plucking weeds. Something she also will have to do extensively, doesn¡¯t she? The Woman seem to sense that Sabrina isn¡¯t here to actually buy. ¡±Welcome, what can I do for you?¡± ¡±Hello. I am Sabrina and, well, don¡¯t have any place were I can sell my Products, so I am searching now for a bit.¡± ¡±Sorry Darling, but I really can¡¯t buy Berries of Fruits, they just rot to fast for this Place.¡± There is a flicker of pity in her Eyes, as her dialect and poise change to something more casual and with dialect. Love this novel? Read it on Royal Road to ensure the author gets credit. It feels familiar but Sabrina can¡¯t say how, only that the biggest change is in how the Tongue is moved, at least it¡¯s quite apparent for even someone like her. But instead of delving deeper into that matter, she takes out wrapped silicon Bags, stainless steel boxes and jam Jars. ¡±They are already processed, there is no need to worry.¡± ¡±Oh my, that certainly looks great. What are in the boxes?¡± ¡±Treats and dried Fruits. Everything Oran Berry, as they were already ripe.¡± ¡±How do you plan to sell them, especially since the Containers are reusable and more expensive, not something everyone is willing to purchase, since it¡¯s pricier then.¡± ¡±Well, do you see this little mark there?¡± Sabrina isn¡¯t a big enough fool to not think of that part, since she was also worried about it. But the Vending Machine had a Function of adding a Print and Scanner for such refundable Objects. Even something she doesn¡¯t really understand, but seems to inspect and potentially fixes dents in it. Well, the whole machine is quite bulky, maybe the size of a Square that can fit in a Snorlax Belly sized circle? ¡±That is for Refunds, if possible.¡± ¡±Good Work on the Mark there. Looks also quite nice.¡± The Mark which gets complimented looks like a flame, a leave and a raindrop position to from a circle, with an Oran Berry in the middle. It isn¡¯t super complicated in single parts, but to position everything so orderly would probably be quite a challenge. If someone wants to fake it, but the Boxes come from here, at least the same one weren¡¯t in the Poke Mart. And the refund price should be cheaper anyway. ¡±So you search for a business Partner which not only sells them but also expects the Refunds, yes?¡± ¡±Well, in theory I have a Vending Machine for that on the Ranch. Problem is, it¡¯s on the Ranch.¡± ¡°The Silicon?¡± ¡±Has a mark too.¡± ¡±Okay, everything should be fine.¡± ¡±Is it Okay?¡± ¡±Yes, we have quite a small shop, so there isn¡¯t much to do. It¡¯s easier then you think.¡± ¡±Excuse me if I say it like that, but there is only so much remuneration that I can give, would it be really fine?¡± ¡±You¡¯re overestimating the workload. It¡¯s selling and giving Money if they bring a Product back. The increased traffic should even be good for us¡± ¡±But will everything really work out fine.¡± ¡±Sweety, no use worrying about details. It¡¯s fine if it¡¯s fine.¡± ¡±So there is something¡± ¡±Sshhhhh. I want to make it like that and that¡¯s everything a good business deal needs from my side. And you should also be fine like that, right?¡± Sabrina nods numbly, overwhelmed by the sudden shift. ¡±Great, can you show me everything you have that can sell?¡± Sabrina takes out everything she has ready for that. The Woman looks with critical Eye at the Wares. ¡±The Numbers are Fine, but you may need to export some of the if it continues like that, depending on how often your harvest the Berries. In the City only so many People buy things like dried fruit or Oran Berry Products. But no need to worry, many old Folks like em, many which are regulars here.¡± Oran Berries had a somewhat aquired Taste, Sabrina remembers. At least for Humans. ¡±Local Confectioneries may be interest in the Jam, so pack about half of them an ask around. They are good for Pokemon Treats, especially tiny Cookies. You don¡¯t have anything else?¡± ¡±Ehm, this Boxes have treats with Jam and the other stack without, but still made with Oran Berries. The last stack only has the dried fruit and all silicon wraps only have dried fruit.¡± Sabrina didn¡¯t pack the Treats in Silicon, as it felt stupid. At an 1:9 Ratio of Box and Warping, there aren¡¯t that many Boxes. But the Boxes have more of them, at least. ¡±Good, we can make use of the Boxes too. How about I purchase everything of that, sell that as it is, tell them about the refund either here or at your ranch. When you come her again, I sell the refunded ones to you at the same price as my and your refund. That Transaction won¡¯t be taxed, as it uses the Boxes to sell the goods again. You should inquire yourself what the tax is, near the police station we have a government office, placed for stuff like that. Makes it easier to kickstart business for young adults, since Celdaon City is a bit to tiny for the Government. Just carefully note everything down. And don¡¯t go in the luxurious looking confectionery when selling the Jam, only prideful there. A bit away from the big street should a nice one somewhere.¡± ¡±Mom, do you mean Albert¡¯s?¡± ¡±Ah yes, weren¡¯t there for a long time.¡± Jerome just came in, still with his unmoved Eyes. But his speech got more causal when addressing his Mother. ¡±I am Sorry, I will show you the Way.¡± No, back to the nearly artificial Way of speaking, it seems. ¡ Didn¡¯t anything go to smoothly? 11. Tauros Talk Sabrina plops on the Couch in the living Room, where she and Vanessa previously chatted. Bulbasaur is out training either leech seed or razor leaf, something ranched from its bulb at least, Sabrina guesses. Selling her Products didn¡¯t pose any Problem in the End. They even got praised, which makes her a bit conflicted. On one side, she didn¡¯t do anything besides nit messing it up, on the other hand, it¡¯s hers now, right? But before she can go to deep into the matter, she reads the Books again. It¡¯s the same one were she skimmed the contest for only the most important parts. She didn¡¯t read it whole until now, which she should do if she wants to continue making a good job. In there are also many pictures of things she found in the storage, clarifying what they do. Should I get into the Habit of checking weather predictions? But there is a warning about how they use Castform for it, and they only predict it right at where Castforms are. There, I should watch out what multiple stations say, and even without trying to keep an eye on the sky and keep tarps ready. Best case if having a Castfrom, as they can predict the Weather for up to three hours prior, when properly trained. ¡°Having many hands is always good, but it shouldn¡¯t be underestimated how dexterous Pokemon can act with Mouth, Hooves and similar.¡± Tauros probably won¡¯t help me, seeing his demenar. But I probably should have an Heart to Heart talk with him. Deciding that inside the Lounge is fine, she puts away the carpet and lets Tauros out. ¡±Tau!¡± ¡±Pssst. I called you out so that we can have a proper talk. It¡¯s fine if you get emotional, but refrain from throwing a tantrum.¡± ¡±Ros.¡± A Stare showdown happened between the two of them. Sabrina doesn¡¯t understand what Tauros¡¯s Reason is for his attitude here, while Tauros is just defiant. ¡±Okay, I am going to say it as I see. Either you are at least ready to open you mind for what I ask or nothing is going to work. It¡¯s fine to argue if you have a Point, but when everything backing your defiance is pride, then nothing is going to work. You already noticed that I am decisive when you are plainly uncooperative. Two Options. You either decide to remain stubborn and I am going to talk with a Ranger about releasing you or selling you. If you don¡¯t want that your my responsibility, then you won¡¯t be my responsibility. Simple as that. Second would accepting that you have to take care of me and I of you. Every time I tried to give you treats or Pokechow you trashed it around, eating the Grass on the ground. Plainly obvious that you don¡¯t like me and insist on it, even though you shouldn¡¯t know me. Whatever your train of thought is, I can¡¯t change it, and the result speak for itself. So, wanting the first choice? Then we have to find out if we sell or release you.¡± ¡±Tauros.¡± Without hesitation he nodded at that, calling his Name to emphasise his Point. ¡±Okay, before we continue, I need you to agree to at least give me the ride to the City.¡± ¡±Tau!¡±The story has been stolen; if detected on Amazon, report the violation. A Snort. ¡±Then you have to wait inside the Pokeball or out on the Pasture eating Grass for the next occasion i have to go out.¡± Don¡¯t think I don¡¯t notice that you eat the dirtied Pokechow or Treats sneakily afterwards. You like them but not me, without wanting to compromise on something. But I can¡¯t fault it, as ruminants would need Grass all day, which I don¡¯t know if he is, but not gonna risk his health for it. Haaaa, I want to be angry at him for that but still act to soft. No, it isn¡¯t soft but responsible in a way. In the other Hand, not hating him for that is maybe soft again? ¡±Tau.¡± ¡±So you relent in that point?¡± ¡±Tau.¡± I can see how he would rather go meek, but is to prideful for that. Well, I guess that stubbornness could be useful for an Battler. ¡±So, wanting to be released?¡± ¡±Tau.¡± ¡±? Are you perhaps unsure?¡± I really can¡¯t say it. It wasn¡¯t a clear affirmative but also not a denial. ¡±Tauros. Tau Tauros.¡± ¡±Scared about not finding a herd anymore after being captured?¡± Thats the best point I can think of. ¡±Tauuu Ros.¡± ¡°Ah, wait a Moment, I have to think for a bit.¡± ¡±¡¡± ¡±So, as an Herd Animal, you need an Herd in the wild. You can¡¯t take care of yourself, so you would need a Trainer. But you can¡¯t stand it to think you wear unruly caught just to get sold and gifted and whatnot. So you stubbornly insist in hating the Trainer. But you would need someone to take care like a Trainer again. Which makes it a viscous circle.¡± ¡±¡Tau.¡± Tauros looked for a Moment like wanting to argue, but choose to relent and agree. The whole thing wore him mentally down, as he sees no escape. ¡±Okay, tomorrow we have to talk about a Ranger how such cases are handled. At worst I could release you at the Safari Zone, I believe. But that quite far. Maybe there is a Procedure for such cases?¡± ¡±Tau?¡± ¡±Yeah, Safari Zone. Many Pokemon there which are bred and or trained to be captured at a relative wild open place, I think? I am not an Expert. At some point I would like to go there myself, for the Pokemon you can capture there, buuut I have the whole Ranch here. Not properly learning the Ropes for it foul be fatal if I come back and urgently need to do something, without knowing what.¡± ¡±Tau.¡± ¡±Sorry Sorry, not going to continue bother you with my Problems. Not like you make it hard for me.¡± After everything was talked about, both parties have a stare showdown again. At least Tauros perked up again after hearing of a potential Solution. Well, perked up as in gazing as defiantly as before. Sabrina didn¡¯t notice while taking, but it seems Tauros had his Head hung lower and shoulder a bit down. If that is an adept description for an quadrupled hoofed Pokemon. ¡±Okay, want to go in the Pokeball or out with Bulbasaur?¡± ¡±Tau.¡± ¡±Okay, just don¡¯t do anything stupid.¡± ¡±Tauros.¡± ¡®Who do you think I am?¡¯ or something along the Line he seems to say. Since Sabrina doesn¡¯t want to risk it and let Tauros go out himself, she recalls him Back quickly and let him out through the Window. She then goes back to her Book. How to care for what berry, how pollinator Pokemon can help, grafting etc.. Grafting especially catches her attention. The weird thing is, that noticeable results of grafting of berries seem to need excessive help from Pokemon. Or Land blessed by Shaymin. Otherwise, Turtwig, Roserade, Bellosom, Trevenant, pollinator Pok¨¦mon¡¯s, Gloom or Vileplums secretions and Pokemon with the ability Harvest can be very useful for checking the Condition of the Land and Pokemon and improving it. Relaying on Meganium isn¡¯t recommended, as revitalised Plants will lack Flavour and Nutritions that way, even though it speeds the process up. Noting down the information, especially getting a Trevenant which is a Pokemon she really likes, she decides to read the last bits. It¡¯s only two Pages, but what makes Sabrina restless is how it goes into detail how good her Plot of Land is. Even knowing it was blessed by a Shaymin, which she didn¡¯t know. And at the end is written ¡®Author: Arceus.¡¯. Sabrina didn¡¯t get an comfortable sleep tonight. 12. Tauros Transfer! ¡°Today is the Day. Tauros, if you would.¡± Sabrina calls out Tauros and gave him a nod. She pruned preemptive everything she knew she could and should trim of. There are also some cleared places, were Sabrina decided to plant new Berry types. For her search for trimming Tools and an outdoor footstool (she remembered the name), she found a shed. Surprise surprise, there were also little saplings inside. When the little signs are to be believed, the they¡¯re are young Saplings of Persim, Rawst, Wiki and Occa berries. Occa and Rawst make a great protection against Fire Moves, Persim helping against confusion and Wiki also able to heal. Even though it seems it¡¯s more of an Treat for Pokemon liking the flavour. But all the little Trees are still far from growing, even though Sabrina could swear not everyone looks like a real sapling. Then she pondered about placement, then got nervous about the black soil underneath and the implication and so on. Finally, she decided to let it go and ride Tauros to the City, getting rid of him one way or another. Tauros is motivated for it an breaks out into a run. He doesn¡¯t seem to use any Move, but it was still incredible fast. And uncomfortable. Both are after a noteworthy shorter journey in front of the City. ¡±Ah, my butt.¡± ¡±Tau!¡± Before Sabrina can throughly lament her fate, she was pushed by Tauros. With a dismissive ¡®Yes Yes¡¯ she calls him back and searches for the Police Station. Celadon City isn¡¯t big enough to warrant having two separate buildings to report things like that. And the actual Ranger Building is placed a bit more outside the City. Rangers are some kind of mix of fire fighter, rescue teams specialised for Forest search and a bit of Police. Some live in Celadon City I their own house, other in the building for it an again others change it from time to time, depends on season and shift. Sabrina only knew that she has to search for the Police Station after waking an Auntie watching over a Cubone and a Pichu. ¡±Hello, what can I do for you?¡± ¡±I like some consultation regarding a Pokemon, a Tauros, which would liked to be released but fears of not having a herd. On the other Hand, it knows it needs a Trainer but doesn¡¯t agree with being sold and then getting taken care of by some random Person.¡± ¡±That is a Case for the Rangers. We have someone you can talk to right now at the Station.¡± ¡±Thank You.¡± Sabrina gave the person on the reception a tiny bow, before following. She leads her through an hallway, an bigger gathering room and then to a door at the back. ¡±This Person here would need some help regarding a Tauros that is unwilling to change hands in a normal way.¡± ¡±Ah, that¡¯s fine. We need a break anyway.¡± ¡±Yeah, Girlie, can you tell us a bit about it?¡± Three seemingly rangers, an Officer and an Official from their Looks ist inside the Room. A simple map of Kanto before them, with route 17 was it? Marked. The one left of Celadon City. A Woman in Ranger outfit sitting quietly in the Corner, as if knowing it will be pointless to engage. Probably leading the whole affair a middle aged Ranger man, his hair grown a bit long but average overall, for someone in a job that needs much fitness. And what probably is a Veteran Ranger, calling Sabrina girlie, causally leaning in the desk. Enjoying this book? Seek out the original to ensure the author gets credit. The Officer is looking really troubled with the Official sitting there in a no non sense manner, probably not helping one bit. ¡±I moved here only recent and there are some circumstances regarding my Pokemon Team. What you need to know is that I got it gifted¡ wait a moment please.¡± Getting Tauros and having Vanessa at home. Wholesaling everything was a day after, wie I couldn¡¯t meet her. And on the same day I and Tauros agreed to tomorrow from yesterday, also today, to ride here. Huh, times passes. I don¡¯t know if I expected it short or longer. ¡±Yes, two days ago, around noon from a distant family to help me. I only know that they supposedly had an hard time getting him. He was plainly uncooperative, stubborn and prideful, not ready to train under someone suddenly. Also, he is unsure where he should go, as selling him to another random person or getting released without herd are both things he doesn¡¯t want. For now he is calm at the prospect of entering the Safari Zone.¡± ¡±Ay, the Family that gifted it you?¡± ¡±The Father was Nick, the Mother, ahem¡, and they have a Daughter called Vanessa.¡± ¡±Pfft, forgot the Name, eh? Well, we can work with that. Everyone her knows Vanessa at least. Even though the Mother should be the hardest to forget hahaha.¡± Something seems to amuse the man with stubble Beard, who is probably a Veteran. On the other Hand, the woman perks up and even stands up, beginning to talk. ¡±Sending Pokemon to the Safari Zone officially isn¡¯t that simple. Even though often Trainer let them simple Free their. While there is no law prohibiting it, it¡¯s only because it can hardly be enforced and cases that carry consequences are already covered by the Law. For a Period of three Months to half a Year Tauros can be trained, but the Training Period is already over. Normally, a single Pokemon could be added to the Program, as they already get teacher in Mass, especially a Pokemon which can feed itself on Grass. But in this Case, you would need to cover the Cost.¡± ¡±So I take it as a no?¡± ¡±We can transfer it to an Tauros Breeder. There will be someone we can find who will take care of it for that period. No problems on that front. It¡¯s just, you won¡¯t get any Money from it. A free Pokemon would be gladly accepted by some, to buy it without guarantee it would give of a good offspring? Less so.¡± ¡°I am fine with that. As it stands, he is more trouble then worth it.¡± ¡±Good.¡± With that, the Woman sits down again. ¡±When you don¡¯t mind, what are you discussing? If I am not a bother.¡± ¡±Why should a little kid be involved into that?¡± ¡±We don¡¯t mind! You wouldn¡¯t be in this Room if it¡¯s something to keep a secret. On the contrary, Ranger mostly act pretty open, so never fear to ask, as unknown information could make it hard or even endanger you. Currently, we try to discuss what we do with a Snorlax this Year. You are new here, right? So let me explain. Every time, at least once a Year, on Route 17, a Snorlax blocks the Way. Many aspiring Trainer either get in Danger for attacking it to go through or supercharger for an alternative way. So we capture them and send them somewhere. Thing is, we can¡¯t release it back into the wild since it seems to just go back. On the other hand, a Snorlax is a handful to take care of, so there aren¡¯t many places we can send them. Only well off Trainer still could have a Demand, and being well of means for them being strong, which means they already have a Full Team and trained with it. But glasses here is opposed to send it somewhere far away. We don¡¯t know why, but he complains for sure.¡± ¡±Because that is irresponsible! Places without the natural calamity posed by its gluttony could suffer from it by now knowing what to expect!¡± ¡±He keeps the argument going the entire Time, treating Snorlax like an Voltorb ready to use Explosion.¡± ¡±How many people do you think could get an Snorlax fed without loosing to much on something!¡± ¡±Well, did you search for people that could? Of you know it so much better, shouldn¡¯t you go communicate with people who could potentially do it? I mean, getting someone knowledgeable on the boat shouldn¡¯t be a bad idea by any measure. And from how you argue so expertly, you see, to have a better grasp on Snorlax then the Rangers it seems.¡± ¡±What does a kid know? Heh?¡± ¡±Not much, which is exactly why I said to get someone knowledgeable to help, and you seem to be knowledgeable when you know it better than the Rangers on sending a Snorlax away.¡± ¡±Be silent, this is an Adult Talk!¡± ¡±I thoughts it¡¯s about a Snorlax? Or do you search for a continent excuse that people shouldn¡¯t listen to my words and you don¡¯t need any Reason to give why your words regarding Snorlax treatment should have power?¡± 13. Route 7! ¡°I am here to represent local administration, this isn¡¯t your Place to butt in!¡± ¡±Well, you could probably contact Pokemon Professors who knowledge about things like that. Having a clear Lost of ¡¯Can and Can¡¯t¡¯ should certainly be useful to filter potential places were it could be send. Is it alright if I leave Tauros to you?¡± ¡±It would be fine, but are you alright with that?¡± ¡±Yes, don¡¯t mind me.¡± Sabrinas Words were pointed at the Man with stubble Beard, while the Leader like Person answered. The only Reason she engaged like that was because she doesn¡¯t like his behaviour and how unproductive he seems to make the discussion. A quick good bye to the Receptionist and out of the Station. Now Tauros-less. Haaa, self important Person. But I am also pretty unhinged. Well, no use worrying. I probably should rather about a ride. Maybe there is a renting Service somewhere in Celadon City? Hm? Is that Vanessa? ¡±Vanessa, is that you?¡± ¡±Sabby! Call me Nessa or Nessy if you want!¡± ¡±Okay, but what are you doing here?¡± ¡±Haha, getting an Advantage over others!¡± ¡±?¡± ¡±Training with my new Growlithe and trying to catch more Pok¨¦mon.¡± ¡±Oh, were are you planning to go?¡± ¡±Along the Way to Saffron City, Route 7! It¡¯s the best Spot where safety and Pok¨¦mon abundance is mixed.¡± ¡±Oh, who do you plan to catch, or is it really just making things up as you go?¡± ¡±Well, I hope to meat an Oddish or Bellsprout first, alternative a Pidgey or Rattata maybe? Anyway, look what I especially got for my little Mission, to guarantee success!¡± Vanessa takes out a Pokeball from her Backpack. Instead of the Usual Red White and black lines, this one is Pink, with Hearts. Sabrina naturally recognises it, having thought it was underrated for early Game. But seeing the Design in Real Life still makes her shriek a bit back. ¡±This is a Heal Ball! Pok¨¦mon Captured in it are ready for Combat again! But only when captured, afterwards it¡¯s of no Help.¡± ¡±So your Plan is to forcefully make a Pok¨¦mon submit, then capture it, just to heal it up again to make it fight for you so that another Pokemon can go through the cycle again? Do you also carry a Frustration TM with you?¡± Sabrina originally wanted to joke about it, but she herself noticed while saying what she said sounded quite a bit¡ Well, it wasn¡¯t untrue, that¡¯s a terrible first impression she can make. ¡±Oh, yeah, I guess? I didn¡¯t plan that one through.¡± ¡°Not like they are useless. You don¡¯t have to be in the City to make Friends. And it isn¡¯t like you have to beat them up till they can¡¯t fight anymore. Even some Situation may still occur where it¡¯s better to have them patched up after fighting. A case of content theft: this narrative is not rightfully on Amazon; if you spot it, report the violation.Mankey, for example. When you catch one it surely would appreciate being in top condition to continue fighting.¡± The smaller girls perks up a but after hearing it, but there still seems something that bothers her. ¡±How many did you buy?¡± ¡±Ahem, ehm, around, like, I believe they weren¡¯t many.¡± ¡±Is it Five?¡± ¡±¡¡± ¡±Seven?¡± ¡±¡¡± ¡±Eight?¡± A bit of desperation creeps up Sabrina¡¯s Voice. She doesn¡¯t have a good grasp of economics in the Pokemon world, but her Behaviour is too similar to someone who just wasted all their Money. ¡±Ten?¡± ¡±Eleven.¡± ¡±Well, that could last you for a Lifetime. Do you still have enough Money to but normal Pokeballs? If not, then I could borrow you some.¡± ¡±Really?¡± An astonished Face faces suddenly upwards, looking Sabrina in the Eyes. It¡¯s like she never beloved something that good could happen. ¡±Yeah, that will be less of a Problem. Even though I expect that you properly pay me back afterwards.¡± ¡±Promise! And, could I borrow Money right now?¡± *sigh* ¡°Sure, but plan well how you want to use it. I won¡¯t lend again, for discipline reason.¡± ¡±Yes, I can do that.¡± ¡±Why do you even need it right now?¡± ¡±My Parents gave me my Pocket Money early and said that I have to sustain myself for today. After I persuaded them to let me train Growlithe early and catch Pokemon. So, I cut it close for a cheap Lunch, but I would like something better, especially since I feel more hungry then expected.¡± *sigh* ¡°Okay, my Treat then.¡± ¡±Really?!¡± ¡±Yeah, but could I go with you in exchange? And you probably want to get normal Pokeballs too, potions and co. if you don¡¯t already have.¡± ¡±Will do. Thanks Sabby!¡± ¡±Not a Problem.¡± Both Girls ate at a Restaurant. Vanessa was shifting uncomfortable the whole time, probably intimidated by going out for lunch without Parents around. Sabrina can relate a bit, as she too felt everything was more imposing when one has to pay for themself. Or peers. She hopes it¡¯s either the unfamiliarity or having someone else pay that isn¡¯t a parent that makes her look like that. And not her Choice of an advertised Healthy Vegan Business, which has very good Fake meat, or how it is called. Meat substitute. In the End she choose something with Slowpoke Tail, pretty much the thing on the list that has real meat, but not Pok¨¦mon had to suffer for. ¡±I didn¡¯t know you were Vegetarian.¡± ¡±I am not. I just rarely eat meat since I don¡¯t often feel like it.¡± Thats a Lie. She isn¡¯t Vegetarian or often reluctant to eat Meat. There were just two parts in her mind, semi-clashing, which made her say that. One is that the Meat comes from Pok¨¦mon, which she doesn¡¯t trust herself to eat. While the others say that she will probably eat them in the end anyway, so saying vegetarian now could be problematic later. Naturally, the Lie wasn¡¯t well thought out, which she notices soon enough. But she has more important things to do now, like watching out for Pok¨¦mon on Route 7. ¡±Here we are!¡± A well maintained path, wide areas of high grass to the sides. And the Forrest not to close to fear anything suddenly coming out t without having the chance to run away. Bellsprout yellow, Rattata sound and Pidgey¡¯s in the Air. There isn¡¯t any other sign of different Pok¨¦mon Sabrina can see now, but she is content right now. Oddish, Pidgey, Vulpix and Abra. Those are the Pokemon I should especially look out for. Or, well, Pokemon I would especially much to catch. Wasn¡¯t there something with the Japanese names of the Abra evolutions? Abra was named after a supernatural guy who answered questions in his sleeps, Kadabra after someone who bent spoons and Alakazam after Harry Houdini. For some reason I thought I need verification from were the Names come from, even though it was obvious. But I also remember that Sleep Dude and Spoon Bender Dude both made others believe they really had supernatural abilities. Which fits with Abra and Kadabra, but their Final evolution is then called after Houdini, who I believe should have a track record of dispeing and exposing people who exactly did such things. Well, it really is just random Knowledge that pops up. I wonder, will I remember similar useless knowledge when meeting the other Pokemon sleeping in the Grass? ¡±Aaaaaaabra.¡± Even the snoring of Pok¨¦mon is after their Names. Or is there a difference from species to species or individual? ¡±Sabby, what¡¯s this?¡± It looks so peaceful. But it must be completely exhausted as it doesn¡¯t even hover anymore. ¡±An Abra. Pure Psychic Type and can evolve two Times. Not including Mega Evolutions.¡± I wonder under which circumstances it even stops levitating? When it was named after a Sleeping magical guy, then I guess it¡¯s very unnatural. ¡±Do you wanna catch it?¡± ¡±Maybe? I am more worried of its condition.¡± 14. Rare Catch! ¡°Well, it¡¯s sleeping. I don¡¯t believe it¡¯s made to sleep. They normally snore them, and give of a Zzzz or something.¡± ¡±Yes, I know. But Abra should levitating a bit at least. It always does. It¡¯s like, you know?¡± ¡±An Exeggcute looking happy?¡± ¡±¡Well, I guess that fits.¡± ¡±Is it really that bad?¡± ¡±Honestly? I don¡¯t know, but it is very worrying.¡± ¡±Okay, what should we do?¡± ¡±Haaa, your very calm, he? Fine, let¡¯s look up something.¡± Sabrina points the Camera of her Pok¨¦dex at Abra den makes a Photo. Besides general Information of Abra, estimated size, weight, strength, weakness etc. a condition section was added. Status Effect: Encore, Disable Not revealing it to Vanessa, Sabrina took in a sharp Breath. She knows that tactic. And a Pok¨¦mon which can learn both Moves. Vulpix at best, Ninetails at worst. But it shouldn¡¯t be able to learn on of them naturally? Encore should have been TM exclusive right? This is one of the tactics she actually knows, even only having hear Rattata beating Arceus from quick surfing, not diving deeper. Well, not that she searched for it, she was just curious if that would actually work. And her first time learning about struggle, but that¡¯s beside the matter. ¡±Vanessa.¡± ¡±Call me Nessy, and yes?¡± ¡±There might be a Pokemon lying near which put Abra into this State. Probably a fire Type.¡± ¡±Oh, how did you find that out? Is there some kind of Pokemon liking to prey on Abra,¡± *cough cough* *cough* ¡°I deduced it because of two moves which could do that and one Pokemon which loves in Kanto which can learn both.¡± Right, how do Abra¡¯s fly? They can¡¯t have levitate. But didn¡¯t Abra need TMs to learn something besides Teleport? Because of can only think of Telekinesis to do that, which is a move. ¡±It shouldn¡¯t take to long until it recovers. Just be careful what you think about, Abra¡¯s should be able to read mind.¡± ¡±Heeee,¡ WHAAAAAAT!!! They can do something that dangerous?!¡± ¡±Well, they largely depend on that and Teleport. They just don¡¯t have the com, get away from there!¡± Sabrina grabs Vanessa and jumps to the side, just away from a large ember shooting at their Face. At least she can be pretty sure it will be only a Vulpix, since it was ¡°only¡± Ember. Hey, wait a moment, isn¡¯t Take Down to high levels for Bulbasaur right now? ¡±Vuuuu!¡± Quick Attack? It¡¯s getting close to us! Not directly hitting us but perfect distance for retreat and attack! Dammit! ¡±Growlithe!¡± ¡±Growwwwwl!¡± Before Sabrina can decide the next course of action to avoid the ember Bullet, a red dog-like Pokemon jumps in the Way. Instead of leaving any mark, it harmlessly absorb it into its fur and flashing in a fiery red right. Flash Fire, increasing damage of fire type Moves by 50% after getting hit by a fire move, additional immunity to them. This narrative has been unlawfully taken from Royal Road. If you see it on Amazon, please report it. ¡±Now, Ember!¡± ¡±No!¡± To late, Growlithe fires of a shot of small flames, smaller then Vulpix¡¯s. Said Vulpix looks unimpressed, still standing there as if it doesn¡¯t even exist. Only for the same spectacle to repeat with Vulpix as it did with Growlithe. Vanessa and Growlithe both let out an stupefied sound. ¡±Do you know how many Pok¨¦mon there are in Kanto who have Flash Fire? Quite a bit actually, under the Fire types. Ponyta, Growlithe, Flareon and Vulpix, plus Evolution. Not many fire Pokemon left who can¡¯t have it.¡± ¡±Ah, it¡¯s doing something!¡± ¡±Probably Encore. Smart one. Now it¡¯s probably going to use it¡¯s bought time for Tail Swipe.¡± Before Sabrina even finished, Vulpix already made its move, ready to use Tail Swipe. It looks a bit annoyed at being predicted, but a flash of astonishment replaces it as Sabrina calls Bulbasaur. But at seeing the obvious plant type Pok¨¦mon, arrogance replaces it. ¡±Why don¡¯t you call Tauros?¡± ¡±Tauros is gone, he didn¡¯t want to be part of my Team, so he is on his Way to a better Place.¡± ¡±Heeeeee?!¡± ¡±Growl! Don¡¯t let it keep up Advantages.¡± ¡±Buuuuuu!¡± Before even questioning hat is going on, Bulbasaur let¡¯s put a cute cry. It certainly is easy to recognise an Enemy who already looks at you condescending when you just entered. Not only did it lower Vulpix¡¯s Attack, but also let¡¯s take Vine fall out. But it doesn¡¯t give it to much Attention, focusing on a second Tail Swipe agains Growlithe. Both Growlithe and Vanessa are a bit out of it, understanding it can¡¯t use Ember but everything else fails. ¡±When you are finished, could you use Howl or Leer? And position Growlithe between Bulbasaur and Vulpix. They could cover each other.¡± ¡±Ah, yes. Growlithe!¡± ¡±Grow!¡± Told as to do, Vanessa gave her Signal. Sabrina rethinks everything. How possible, Vanessa should use Leer. If Growlithe uses buffs or debuffs, it could be locked again with Encore. Slowly wearing it down when everyone fights at least for the first Time with each intern can make them prone to mistakes. Bulbasaurs range is lacking. So their chance is to bluff. To make the impression of having a solid ability to defeat her. The Battlefield was even out, especially since Bulbasaur did a second Growl. ¡±Vuuu!¡± ¡±Growlithe, don¡¯t let one of them past!¡± Vulpix fired of two Embers, both in direction of Bulbasaur. Growlithe jumped in the Way of both, but Sabrina doesn¡¯t look at that. Whole the Direction was right, they weren¡¯t directly aimed. A distraction, Sabrina believes. And true enough, Vulpix tried to get close to Bulbasaur with Quick Attack. Thankfully, the plan failed. Sabrina already talked to Bulbasaur of using his Vines more passively and efficient, letting them out nur be ready to move at Moments notice. But it seems it understood something different, since it sneakily spread out his Vines, snatching Vulpix¡¯s ground under her feet after steeping on them. He couldn¡¯t grab her, it seems and ensnare the hostile Pok¨¦mon, but it did trashed their Plans. Not only Vulpix¡¯s, but also Sabrina¡¯s to use the chance for Tackle, maybe Take Down. ¡°Vuuuu!¡± The shame seems to be to much to bear, now looking clearly pissed at Bulbasaur. But before it could do anything more threatening then glare, a dog jumps at her and begins to Bite. Frightened, or maybe because of the Effect of the Move, the Pok¨¦mon jumps back frightened. Sabrina sees something wriggling between the Grass, near Vulpix and sees her Chance. She is unsure if a Pokeball would work, but she feels greedy. And is really unsure how they should, proceed if it doesn¡¯t work. ¡±Vine Whip! Ensnare it!¡± ¡±Buuuulbaaaa!¡± Quickly noticing something wrong, Vulpix uses Quick Attack to get away. What neither Pok¨¦mon nor Trainer expected is how nasty Bulbasaur could be. Instead of trying to tie it down where it was, it prepared a loop to where Vulpix hastily jumped, making Vulpix jump in the Trap head first. Sabrina throws her Pokeball with much force, hoping it will fly straight at least. But something unexpected happened. Near Vulpix, roughly a metre away, Abra appears. And it seems to use psychic Powers to free it, looking at her(?) direction. And even more surprising is how of course the Ball flies, directly at Psychic Pokemon. Probably reading Minds right now, it hastily looks at her Direction. Which was a mistake, as the Pokeball directly crashes into its forehead. The dramatic sounding ¡°Abraaaaa!¡± transmitted its agony as it was sucked in the Pokeball. Vulpix and Sabrina look at the Ball dumbfounded, not properly processing what happened. Then, the ching resounded, marking a successful capture. Sabrina begins to understand even less now. Vanessa meanwhile readied her Ball and throws at Vulpix. Her Aim is much more steady, not to forceful like Sabrina¡¯s. But her target still had more than enough presence of Mind to shoot it with Ember, bringing it of Course. ¡±Nooo Fair! You can luckily capture an Abra but I struggle with an already trapped Pokemon!¡± ¡±V, Nessy. I don¡¯t understand myself what happened.¡± 15. Persuasion ¡°Nessy, just stop it for now. Vulpix seems to at least have resigned that she can¡¯t escape, but it won¡¯t let itself get captured either.¡± Vanessa and Vulpix had a less then Epic showdown, wir one side throwing Pok¨¦balls and the other shooting Embers at them. Said Vulpix refrained from attacking the Vines holding it down and Bulbasaur, Sabrina let them, but has told Bulbasaur to be a bit more gentle. And indeed, Vulpix doesn¡¯t look as uncomfortable now, even having recovered a bit. The glowing Effect of Flash Fire also long ended, making Ember a bit weaker, but still sufficient for the Pok¨¦balls. Besides the one were Vannesa threw it with all her mind, but the tragedies still deflect and missed Vulpix by a small margin. If it weren¡¯t for the Ball shattering upon impact, Vanessa would have probably tried again. ¡±Feeling Better? I am really sorry about that.¡± While supervising Vanessa, she took out her new Pok¨¦mon, treating its wound on the forehead. Or at least spoiling him, as there doesn¡¯t seem to be much wound. But after talking nicely to him, giving him treats and a caring attitude, Abra seems to be less repudiating. He is still not very amicable, but more in a wait-and- see approach way. The acknowledgment of Genders is because Sabrina remembered her Pok¨¦dex, and how it can give General Information about an individual specific. Bulbasaur, Abra and Growlithe are male, making Vulpix the only female Pok¨¦mon of them. Vulpux meanwhile, slowly draws her gaze to Sabrina and Abra increasing more often. She can¡¯t distinguish exactly what she wants, but at least doesn¡¯t seem to want to play anymore. ¡±Okay, Bulbasaur, could you let her down?¡± ¡±Bul?¡± ¡±It¡¯s fine. Even if she is going to run away, it won¡¯t be something bad. Not that I think she will.¡± ¡±Bulbasaur.¡± The little Fire Pokemon was let down without complication, only Vanessa sending Sabrina a little Glare. More of a Pout, actually. Trying to glare while pouting.. Sabrina doesn¡¯t give them or her panting any attention. Not being able to conserve strength is her Problem, for now at least. With that thought, Sabrina moves her gaze to Vulpix, who approaches them in a speed mindful of potential injuries. ¡±You two are Friends, right?¡± Vulpix looks up to Sabrina a bit, which is easier because she knees and is a bit away, before slowly nodding. Seeing Vulpux answering like that, Abra moves his Head to in strong affirmative. ¡±Encore and Disable, was that both you? You should already be able to use Disable, while you used Encore for certain.¡± A shake to the left and right. ¡±Encore was you, Disable someone targeting ore attacking you? Both or one of you specifically?¡± From her Gaze it¡¯s easy to guess she doesn¡¯t like how pinpointed Sabrina¡¯s question is, but nods nonetheless. ¡±Your Encore, it was taught to you right? Locking Growlithe down on Ember was probably around your second time outside of learning or practicing it.¡± Yep, she doesn¡¯t like it all. ¡±A Game of Chase, I presume. Something in that Abra would be a formidable Opponent. You generally had someone teach you Moves, as Telekinesis isn¡¯t something a wild Abra would normally learn. They are to reliant on their mind reading and teleport ability, while sleeping much of the time, so without an Incentive, he wouldn¡¯t learn more Moves.¡±Reading on Amazon or a pirate site? This novel is from Royal Road. Support the author by reading it there. That¡¯s something Sabrina learned from the Pok¨¦dex. The Move Pool she know or at least can remember is only for Moves wild Pok¨¦mon are guaranteed to learn as they grow stronger and older. At their own initiative, they can learn other moves, even though it isn¡¯t uncommon that it will be one they would learn anyway with Time. On the other Hand, the Pok¨¦dex Information about Abra also said that it¡¯s highly likely that it will learn anything in the Wild since it can feed itself from berries and always escape predators. Not always always, but between winning the Lottery two times and an Healthy Abra getting surprised before it can react in its natural Habit, one should bet for the Lottery. Well, that is also heavily influenced by the Numbers of Abra¡¯s compared to the of Lotteries, but one gets the Gist. With Mind Reading even picking up Ill Intent while Sleeping, which it does 18 Hours a Day, and an instinctual Teleport which every Abra can, catching it is supposed to be hard. ¡. Not her Fault when it teleported directly in the trajectory of the Pok¨¦ball! Oh, Abra gives her Glare. Probably wanting to say not everyone misses at such a big Margin from the intended Target. ¡±Hey, not my Fault! Everyone can make mistakes!¡± *clap* ¡±Anyway, you were suddenly ambushed. Abra managed to get away somehow, while his ability to levitate seems to be cut off. Dunno how that works, but good Job. You probably chased after him or searched for him, meeting us hovering over him. Were it Humans that attacked you, by chance?¡± Seeing how it steps back and the unpleasant expression, yes it were. And skilled enough to determine an Encore while using the Chance for Disable. Huh, I really have no Idea. Well, not entirely true but¡ ¡±So, you both have some elder of some kind which took care of you. Otherwise you wouldn¡¯t be so overly cautious with your injury. At least, I take it a totally wild Pok¨¦mon doesn¡¯t have the Luxury. You were also ready to talk with me after being caught in a Trap, not trying to dislodge yourself or anything. I can¡¯t guess how many there are of you, but it will probably be a child loving Pok¨¦mon, as both of you are pretty young. Neither of you also showed to behave yourself like thinking it¡¯s you two against the world, with only the Elder as an ally. Which you probably should have developed if he was permanently shielding you or otherwise got all the Time the impression the world is hostile. It can be that you just learned things differently, but that Mindset would be the easiest one on the Mind. Which makes me think you have regular friendly interactions with other Pok¨¦mon. In the End, I can¡¯t say anything for sure, besides your confidence that everything will be fine, even after meeting hostile Humans which didn¡¯t follow you until here.¡± Vulpix scoffs at the last Sentence, but grew visible tense while she explained. Abra looks at the Ground before himself, before nodding. He then lifts five of his six fingers, indicating the Number of Pok¨¦mon. ¡±I take it you counted yourself and Vulpix too?¡± A Nod. The more it goes on, the more concerned Sabrina grew. She couldn¡¯t pinpoint it, but something made her restless. ¡±Amazing! You are like the Pikachu from the new Movie!¡± Vanessa was really amazed by how Sabrina pointed out details and deduction she wouldn¡¯t have thought about. Sabrina, on the other Hand feels like she made 20% deductions, 30% gut feeling and 50% fantasising about stuff and then finding a reason why it¡¯s true. Which isn¡¯t wrong, since she noticed the oddities, found an explanation in an Elder who took care of them, which was just a stray thought that popped into her Head, which she then tried to rationalise. ¡±Okay, let¡¯s go. I hate to say, but we, or at least you two, should find the Elder we just talked about. I have a bad feeling, even if that is a very bad reason.¡± Vulpix looked offended at that, but Abra looked her deeply in the eyes, probably doing some psychic stuff, before nodding. The little Fox looked betrayed, but the emotion was overshadowed by concern as Abra looks at her. Somehow, they talked with each others it seems. As the little Fire Pokemon was ready to jump of into the Forrest, Abra took hold of her with Telekinesis. She could probably have spooked it off, but didn¡¯t move because of her trust in Abra. Abra meanwhile, took a Pok¨¦ball from Sabrina¡¯s belt, in which are the ones ready to throw. Shocked, Vulpix gets hit by the Pok¨¦ball directly in the Face, having used Telekinesis while putting force behind it. Naturally, some resistance was offered, but it seems Vulpix gave it up after the saving blinking, as the light and movement of the Ball decreased significantly. Without hesitation, Abra used Telekinesis again to to move the Pok¨¦ball in Sabrina¡¯s Hand and then took her other Hand. Before realising what is going on, Abra already used the Move which was the biggest Factor for Sabrina to catch it. Teleport. 16. Trouble is Brewing Sabrina felt like space suddenly compressed around here until she was an undefinable Size. In a short Moment, it felt like her feet were on her Torso, her Stomach in her Head and when she is gonna puke it¡¯s from her back. For one, she feels nauseous, but much more then that she feels like he world view just collapsed. The shock of the Sensation of everything being in the wrong place and the feeling of being Teleported numbs her. Before she can naturally one back, she now felt the Sensation of being stretched. And that not linear, but up down left right backwards and forwards, as if it¡¯s the craziest roller coaster to ever be. Only after being felt stretched over whole Kanto, she feels the other end of her move and follow the Trail of herself she left behind. Suddenly, it was like she was a rubber band that was let loose. Before she could scream, which was now the first time she though about it, she was in the Forest. There are some individuals and Pok¨¦mon near there, but she isn¡¯t in a stat of Mind to give it any attention. ¡±¡¡± Over the whole Duration of the Teleportation, it felt like being moved and that her flailing around. She thought she will Puke when it ended. But her whole Body feels like it never teleported. Never moved even one bit. Her whole poise, facial expression, heck, even her breathing weren¡¯t interrupted or changed. All the movement but not on bit inertia left when they arrived. When the Teleportation directly did t make her puke, then how disconnected her senses suddenly are. Which was promptly stoped by Abra patting her back, a bit forceful, and fearfully pointing towards and commotion. There are two burly Men, with receding Hairline as only noteworthy trait, giving commands to two Pok¨¦mon¡¯s each. One commands an Lapras and the other an Machoke. What shocks Sabrina especially is the Pok¨¦mon on the opposite facing them. It¡¯s seems to have taken plenty of hits by now, even though she can see only heavy bruises and frozen Body parts, instead of Blood. But it doesn¡¯t seem to have heavily fought back, but that could be because of the two vs. one and Type Advantage the other side has. Drampa. Fighting the two Pok¨¦mon and Trainer is a Drampa. A Pok¨¦mon native to Alola and high places, not the Forrest of Kanto! ¡±A! Abra!¡± Sabrina looks over to where Abra pointed. In a Burrow under a big tree, Sabrina can make out some Pok¨¦mon. For one, she believes to see an Oddish at the Entrance, together with a lone Exeggcute. Only one, which makes Sabrina feel a bit weird. A bit further into the Burrow, she can see a bit of Pink. The angle from which she looks doesn¡¯t allow her to see more. I have to somehow stop the fight somehow, don¡¯t I? Haaaaa. Why are they still fighting? Drampa could have Berserk as ability, which could be very troublesome, but Oh, oh shit. Drampa does have Berserk and it know how to use it. Did it store Berries in its Mouth, chewing them as Berserk activates? And those two Idiots just continue attacking it! Their Pok¨¦mon are already panting but Drampa is fluctuating around the 50% of his max. Health! Ahhhhhhhhh, why are there such Idiots! ¡±Stop it you two if you value your Life!¡± ¡±Huh, you Brat said somethings?!¡± ¡±Your fighting a Drampa who secretly increases is special attack to the maximum! One use if Dragon Pulse of Hyper Voice or Dragon Breath or whatever you want to choose, on you are gone!¡± ¡±Shut up, kiddo. We got everything under Control! See, our Pok¨¦mon are in great Condition, while he was completely defenceless against us!¡± ¡±Say that after you saw it Attack!¡± Ah, shit. It a.ready readied its Attack. If you discover this tale on Amazon, be aware that it has been stolen. Please report the violation.Thank God! Or Arceus or whoever, it¡¯s aiming to the sky! Suddenly, an intense Flame in Purple Colours shoots like a Pillar from the Earth, high in the Sky. Sabrina feels like being scorched alone by standing near enough to make out the Drampa. Plants begin to wilt, or rather, to completely dry out, near Drampa. Lapras let¡¯s put a Cry before feeling inside the Pok¨¦ball, while the two men and Machoke endure it. One collapses. The one with the Lapras. The other one seems to curse, at least his expression indicates that. But the only sounds clear distinguishable is the crackling from the Fire. Its terrifying. Something beyond understanding. And beautiful. Like catching a glimpse of a might to great to imagine. Sabrinas Eyes are drawn to the Flame, which seem to split the Sky. Never she would have imagined that she would witness something like that. After what felt like an Eternity, but was barely fifteen seconds, it ended. Drampa slumps over, completely exhausted. Only then Sabrina recognises that her initials impression was wrong. The Drampa is old. Very Old. It looks so vulnerable right now. Keeping itself from falling over rather through Willpower then anything else. It¡¯s heavily panting, making everything that didn¡¯t burn down in its vicinity rustle. But before Sabrina can think about it more, Drampa¡¯s gaze was suddenly pointed at her. She feels like it¡¯s wants her to go over to him. With slow and careful steps, Sabrina moves forward. Abra, unsure of what to do, levitates a few steps behind. He doesn¡¯t forget the Pok¨¦ball that Sabrina dropped in all the Chaos. The two Men are nowhere to found. They probably run away when they had the chance. Carrying someone unconscious with an Machoke certainly should be much of an Hindrance. For a minute, Sabrina feels like only her Boots, steeping on nearly ashes, and Drampa¡¯s panting are the only Sounds in a radius of hundred metre from her. Curious Gazes go her direction from the Burrow, but she doesn¡¯t notice. Now, she stands before Drampa. The Being which could incarnate not only her but everything in the direction he faces. And a Flash of white Light goes through his Eyes, building Afterimages of Eyes on each side of his Skull. The Move ended, but Sabrina still gets intently watched by the Dragon. *Pant* Finally, he releases a breath, which Sabrina didn¡¯t notice he was holding. He moves his Gaze to the burrow, giving it a nod, before looking behind her. She moves her Head a bit to see Abra, holding her Pok¨¦ball, giving a nod in direction above her. Feeling eyes on her, she faces forward again, hearing rustling of burned grasses, Pok¨¦mon approaching from behind her. There was also the sound of releasing a Pok¨¦mon, so she guesses every Pok¨¦mon Drampa took care of gathered here. Slowly, Drampa looked at her carefully again, before closing his, seemingly steeling himself. Then, he spoke. It was hoarse, slow and unsteady, but had intense feelings behind it. ¡±Dram. Drampaa.¡± No one said anything at that. But she can feel how Pok¨¦mon behind her got restless. They want to say something, but spurred it. Be it list of Respect to Drampa, or because it¡¯s something they know it¡¯s true but still don¡¯t want to accept. Sabrina can only guess. She feels as Pok¨¦balls in here poach begin to move again, but to her Surprise, Drampa¡¯s eye seem to have a pink glow. It¡¯s hard to see under so much eye brow like Drampa has, but she is sure of that. Slowly, one after another, the ding of a successful caught Pok¨¦mon resounded three times in succession. Drampa nearly slumps over heavily, but he continues to hold himself upright. His Gaze at Sabrina again, and even though he said nothing, she believes she understood. She turns around, trying to pick up the Pok¨¦balls, but Abra swiftly used Telekinesis to give her them. A tiny thanks muttered, and she continues walking. Deeper in the Forrest, with Abra leading her slightly to the right. After having walked far enough to be nearly out of sight, she let everyone out. Oddish and the sad looking lone Exeggcute are cradled in her Arms, while a Comfey with pink Flower levitates near her. That there is a Comfey surprises her, but the solemn mood took over quickly. For her new Pok¨¦mon, she turns around, so that everyone can say their goodbye. Exeggcute and Vulpix try to stay strong, but both cry their faces ugly. Oddish is very energetic, desperate to lighten the good mood, but there are all tears in her eyes. Abra sombrely winks his good bye, before quickly turning around, only a sniffing to hear. Comfey throws her flower wreath at Drampa, which lands beautifully on his Hand. Probably because of the immense Heat from Dragon Breath, the Flowers look dried, even brittle. Seeing that, finally Comfey and Oddish broke out in Tears too, while Sabrina feels how her Eyes get watery. Everyone understood. This is a proud Dragons last Stand. And his final Favour for them. 17. Who wants to join? ¡°Ehhh! What happened?¡± ¡°Bulbasaur?¡± Sabrina and the Pok¨¦mon met Vannesa and Bulbasaur halfway through the Forrest. The Dragon Breath should have served as a very good Landmark. Even though astonished, Vanessa seems to read the mood after her initial burst and stays quiet, going a few steps ahead. Bulbasaur senses Sabrina¡¯s complex Emotion and intervenes bis Vines im her Hand. It¡¯s a bit more complicated, with her hands each holding and elbow to cradle Exeggcute and Oddish, but very well possible. She grips the Vine a bit tighter, after feeling how Bulbasaur tries to reassure her. Her Emotions are a mess. At first, there was worry about so many things. She couldn¡¯t grasp what happened, what she should have done or¡ anything at all! She would scream at her past self, maybe. Even now she doesn¡¯t know really what was. Poachers? Normal Pok¨¦mon Trainer who planned for that? She doesn¡¯t know! Then everything was going so fast. A Dragon Breath was fired of, and it was beautiful, terrifying, and maybe so many other things but she couldn¡¯t keep up! Just so that she now walks away with the Pok¨¦mon he raised? She doesn¡¯t get, she doesn¡¯t understand! Its just so infuriating! Oddish and Exeggcute notice the change in Sabrina¡¯s gait. Before, it was slow, a bit unsteady. And she didn¡¯t breath until she felt that she needed too. Now, her steps are very deliberate. A steady Rhythm in her breathing, achieved by being conscious of it. Exeggcute moves a bit to look up. There, he sees Sabrina gaze pointed forward, a complex swirl of Emotion deep underneath. Even though a Psychic Pok¨¦mon, he isn¡¯t adapt in reading other mental state, as he could neither develop his psychic abilities with peers, nor is his species generally adapt at reading others. But it at least allowed him get distracted by his current worries. So he tries to mentally contact Abra. To quick for anyone liking, they reach Route 7. Only Vanessa is a bit happy inside that the stifling Atmosphere won¡¯t last for much longer. Even though she is surprised as Sabrina¡¯s voice rings out. ¡±We need to make it clear. I believe he wanted that you all come with me, but you are your own entities. While his Judgement might seem objectively the best from his point of view, you are also individuals with feeling. That is not supposed to mock him, that he didn¡¯t think of you, but he was also desperate. You should be able to make your own choice and own reasoning.¡± As she finished speaking, the mood turned gloomy again. Gloomy might not be the best o word for it. Rather, it¡¯s like a Funeral, with a complex relationship between two parties, that involves not knowing each other but having to interact. Which is one way to describe what happened. And now the tempting option of ignoring each other and living their live is one the table, but no one knows what they should do after and it would disrespect him. Abra was the first act. ¡±Ab.¡± He levitated his Pok¨¦ball to Sabrina¡¯s Belt, were Bulbasaur already hang. His gaze was then directed at Vulpix. Sabrina then notices how the three Pok¨¦mon besides Vulpix and Abra look very young. And even someone like her can say that since everyone is at least mildly underdeveloped. Oddish still has some Purple spots and leaves tinier enough to notice. Exeggcute, she believes, is a bit paler, but that can be imagination. Or rather, she just feels that he is very young, instead of seeing something. And Comfey is especially noticeable, since her main body is in a power yellow, and the line she holds to make her wreath is rather sized for a wristband, instead of on around the neck or as headwear. Not that it would have been much of a difference on an Drampa. If you spot this narrative on Amazon, know that it has been stolen. Report the violation. She didn¡¯t notice it until know, as Comfey floated a bit behind and anytime else she was concentrated on other things. ¡±Vuuu.¡± ¡±Ab.¡± ¡±Vuuu, Vulpix!¡± ¡±Abra.¡± ¡±Bulba.¡± Whatever they talked about, Vulpix began to cry again. She cried until her face was distorted from it. But she managed to bring up the Power to push the Pok¨¦ball, which Abra placed for her, to Sabrina. Which seemed to be the point were everything broke for her, the final self-admission she won¡¯t see him again. Sabrina turned around after picking up the Pok¨¦ball, letting her have the room to cry she needs. Exeggcute didn¡¯t take long. He steeled himself before announcing his decision with determination to Abra, who then gave Sabrina his Pok¨¦ball. Before even properly on the belt, Exeggcute called himself back, having kept up a brave face until know. Oddish seems to be a bit in denial. Unsure of what she should do. Comfey seems to try to buy her Time, so she doesn¡¯t feel pressured. Her Choice seems to be too follow Sabrina before making her Choice. She repeats that openly and then asks if that¡¯s the gist. After nodding, Comfey talks to Oddish in an comforting Voice, probably telling her to not feel pressured. ¡±Odd! Oddish!¡± That seems that it triggered something in Oddish, as she jumps down from Sabrina¡¯s Arms, while shaking Comfey off. She then bows to Sabrina, before saying her Name in a Manner similar to ¡®Please take care of me¡¯ and calling herself back. It didn¡¯t go unnoticed how silently, there seem to be a fire lit in her Eyes. Comfey only shakes her head in a disapproving Manner. Sabrina then approaches Vannesa, hearing Vulpix still sniffing. ¡±I am Sorry that it ended like that.¡± ¡±No biggie. Or rather, you seem to have it hard.¡± ¡±it was very unexpectedly, but I am sorry, I can¡¯t currently talk about it, everything is a mess¡¡± ¡±Calm down, calm down. Whatever happened, it also hit you deeply. There isn¡¯t any harm done to me, so concentrate on yourself first, Okay?¡± ¡±Hmm. I¡¯ll try to make it up somehow, but I probably won¡¯t go Pok¨¦mon capturing anymore. Ensuring that they are fine for now takes priority for me.¡± Vanessa pats Sabrina¡¯s left shoulder, while the right is occupied by a tired Comfey. Still, she, Abra and Bulbasaur listened to them while not interrupting. As for Vanessa, she tries to lift the Mood a bit. ¡±Look at you talking like a seasoned Trainer, eh? Really, no worries. To take care of your Pok¨¦mon¡¯s is important.¡± ¡±Hmm. I am¡¡± ¡±And I caught even a Pidgey!¡± ¡°? When? No, sorry, I guess I¡¡± A stronger clap on her shoulder. Vanessa looks at her a bit aggrieved. ¡±Haaa, don¡¯t apologise so much. I know what you¡¯re thinking. You were selfish for thinking that you run of like that but still expect me to lay everything down to search for you, instead of thinking I use the time for my own good? Or that you ruined something? Let me tell you, alone finding on of the less heard Pok¨¦mon of so easily would be a rare spectacle. But you had a whole adventure it seems and maybe a full Team! Additional, your a bit more feisty then that remember? You called me stupid or something for not knowing about Flash Fire. By the Way, which Pok¨¦mon native to Kanto and have Fire Type don¡¯t have Flash Fire?¡± ¡±Haa, Growlithe and Ponyta evolutions have a good chance to have it or not. Flareon and Vulpix will most likely have it. The Magmar Evolution won¡¯t have it. Moltres, the legendary Pok¨¦mon also likely won¡¯t have it. And Charmander plus Evolutions can¡¯t get it. But be careful there, as it will probably have Blaze instead. Blaze is nasty, since when it gets wounded enough, the Power of Fire Attacks will increase the same as if with Flash Fire.¡± ¡±Got it! Just asking you about the abilities of Pok¨¦mon when the need rises up. By the Way, what Legendary Pok¨¦mon do we have in Kanto?¡± ¡±What? ¡±You know, our Teacher regarding that was pretty chill, so I just slept through it.¡± ¡±What?! Don¡¯t skip out eduction!¡± Sabrina wasn¡¯t too loud, but still shouted. At least no one present was startled, besides Comfey who nearly began to nap. ¡±I know we have three legendary birds in Kanto!¡± As if the argument made any difference, Vanessa proudly displayed her Knowledge. ¡±Do you even know there name or Type?¡± ¡±Ehh, Zapdos was Electric. Then¡¡± ¡±¡¡± ¡±I just listed Moltres as a Fire Pokemon. And every one of the Birds does have flying type too. Last would be Articuno, the Ice Flying Type Pokemon.¡± ¡±Cool. Do the have some kind of special Job to do or something?¡± ¡±Vanessa. You are asking very weird questions there.¡± ¡±Ahahahahaha.¡± 18. Teaching and getting Astonished ¡°Ha, yes, they have a special job. A very important one.¡± Good that I am someone who enjoys the lore of games, even though Pok¨¦mon lore is always a bit¡ Nah. ¡±There are three islands where the three of them likely house. Between them is a sea current, with great importance. When the current gets disrupted or changes otherwise, it will have a big impact on Kanto''s and other regions climates.¡± Similar to Gulf Stream in my last life. Europe would be so, so much colder without it. ¡±Usually, the three birds are evenly matched, at least in how far their influence spreads. So their influence on the stream is pretty stable and not very dangerous. Which doesn¡¯t mean everything goes to shit just because they go away. Moltres, for example, is said to show up when the league tournament gets disrupted, which start gets signaled with his Flame. Articuno also helps lost people in snowy mountains. Zapdos¡ Well, Zapdos doesn¡¯t have both typings vulnerable to rock. ¡±Oh, how do I recognize one? Something noteworthy on how they look?¡± ¡°Well, yes. Moltres looks like a plucked and burning Fearow. By default, angry-looking flames are mostly visible on his head and wings, which doesn¡¯t mean other parts aren¡¯t hot. Zapdos looked kind of like he was made out of multiple parts, with the only joints at his neck and the base of his legs and wings. His wings look like a triangle, mostly. Overall, his body has similar coloration and looks like the spiky body of a Jolteon. But I remember he is supposed to discharge lightning attacks by rubbing his feathers, even though I am unsure on that one. Articuno is the most beautiful of them, which is accepted like that in general by the populace. White Feathers on his belly while he otherwise had a light blue fitting for an Ice Type everywhere else. Only the ornament between his eyebrows, similar to Magikarp, and his long tail following him in his flight have a deeper shade. It¡¯s strange that his wings are made out of ice. He is also the most graceful out of the three of them.¡± ¡°You were remarkably precise for Articuno, weren¡¯t you? Do you like him the most?¡± ¡±Well, he is the most pleasing to the eye while having an appearance that needs a bit more explanation than the other ones.¡± ¡±Hm. Sabby, let¡¯s say, purely theoretically, someone, I am asking for a friend, has caught one of them.¡± ¡±Nessa. Yes, Nessa fits better. Do you want to tell me one of the three Legendary Birds was caught by someone just like that?¡± ¡±Well, ehhh. I guess?¡± Sabrina makes an effort to say something, but she doesn¡¯t know what and only brings out grunts. And she shakes Vanessa by the shoulder, but that isn¡¯t important. ¡±"Please stop shaking me. Thank you. I will explain, okay!¡± ¡±Better do so.¡± Sabrina sat down on the ground, not expecting to get caught up in such a mess. For a short moment she thought that she overreacted, since there is no way such a Pok¨¦mon was caught in real life. But Arceus putting special attention on her and it being a completely different world with different standards made her doubt it. Unlawfully taken from Royal Road, this story should be reported if seen on Amazon. On the other side, can they really be caught like that? While an intense battle of arguments breaks out in Sabrina¡¯s head, Vulpix sneaks next to her thighs, having finally found a moment to insert herself. Abra was too dumbfounded by the notion that a legendary bird was caught to give something else his attention. Comfey is confused why he and Sabrina react like that and gets gently told by Bulbasaur why it is a big deal. Bulbasaur himself doesn¡¯t seem to be nervous, as he can¡¯t read Vanessa¡¯s mind and doesn¡¯t think it¡¯s true. ¡±So, you know, some two months ago I found this in the garden.¡± With her words, Vanessa proudly presents the crystal ball she swiftly pulls out. Sabrina wants to slap herself, because when it is what she thinks it is, then the whole situation is unreal. And in the Garden? ¡°A bit shorter than a month ago, I accompanied Jerome to Lavender Town. He caught a Cubone there, whose mother lies there. We don¡¯t know the exact date, but it should have been roughly her death anniversary. Not too far is the power plant. I then had the idea that I could capture an Electrode or Voltorb there. When my journey starts, I could just use Explosion to at least make the battle a draw. With that, my money would be safe!¡± ¡±Isn¡¯t it a bit tasteless to go capturing Pok¨¦mon under such circumstances?¡± ¡±I don¡¯t know how it is for you, but in Kanto it¡¯s at least part of everyday life. In bigger cities, maybe they scheduled it better, but not every place has a convenient bus line to the Safari Zone. And Cubone matured pretty much by now. Jerome said something along the line that her mother didn¡¯t die so that the day gets remembered as a painful no-fun day.¡± I am pretty sure Jerome and Cubone said something more smart-sounding, but it¡¯s nice to know she got over it. ¡°They even offered to accompany me, as Cubone would have a big advantage against most Pok¨¦mon inside the Power Plant. And I accepted naturally; I mean, I only did get good things out of it.¡± ¡±Great, just great.¡± ¡±But there weren¡¯t many Pok¨¦mon who wanted to fight, besides a cowardly Electabuzz who ran away from an Electrode, who was then protected by Voltorbs, so I gave up on capturing him.¡± Makes sense, I guess. The place would be forbidden or at least better managed when it was too dangerous. At least I guess it was fairly easy when she and Jerome got in. ¡ Shouldn¡¯t a place where legendary Pok¨¦mon appear not be better managed anyway? ¡±Then, there was a room that seemed to be buzzing behind an important looking door! Behind it was a mean-looking Big Bird, who seemed to attack us with Thunderbolts at any moment. I naturally tried to capture it.¡± ¡°Who the hell faces a Legendary Pok¨¦mon and then tries to capture it! Especially since it would have been your first Pok¨¦mon. And why did it even work?! Did you have a Master Ball or something?¡± ¡±Nope, I am not that rich. I just accidentally threw the crystal ball. Then it got all tame and was easily captured when I actually threw my Pok¨¦ball. It also ate through most of my savings, which makes me thankful again my parents gave me my pocket money earlier.¡± ¡±Maybe they just noticed that you were carelessly spending your money on something? Wait, Pokechow comes in packaging, which you have to throw away. They probably saw them in some trash can by their house when you didn¡¯t make an extra detour to throw them out far away.¡± ¡±Ehh, really? They never said anything about it?¡± ¡±Well, that isn¡¯t my business. Interpol agents are probably already searching for you. It was nice to have known you; may your sentence not be too heavy.¡± ¡±You really think so?¡± ¡±Well, they have to be stupid, blind, or both to not watch out for the three Legendary Pok¨¦mon, which not only are vital for the survival of Kanto and more regions but can also bring destruction alone by manipulating the weather and then not notice it. The question is just how long it will take and if you will turn yourself in on your own will.¡± ¡±You''re kidding?!¡± ¡±Maybe. I honestly don¡¯t know if you get punished heavily. You¡¯re still a minor, and Zapdos seems to have let him get captured. It¡¯s hard to argue with Zapdos on that part, but maybe you should also show the crystal ball that even made it tame to begin with.¡± If my prediction is right, then she may even be hailed as a hero. Depending on how much they know, I don¡¯t think Arceus wants to see her flourish just so that his intervention makes her a criminal. On that note, the Crystal Ball in her Garden means Arceus did something. Why? Why do I have to get involved in that? 19. Legendary Pokémon are fine?! Not my Problem. Vanessa and Sabrina made their way to the Pok¨¦mon Center. It¡¯s better to check things out, and maybe Sabrina can ask for Nurse Joy¡¯s expertise regarding young Pok¨¦mon. And regarding Exeggcute, she really doesn¡¯t know how that works. Exeggcute was supposed to be five of them, but she only caught one. Is that fine like that? When it evolves, will it have only one head? But it goes from five to three heads anyway. ¡±Hey, Sabby, did I mess up?¡± ¡±We aren¡¯t looking for if you messed up but how badly. But considering everything, maybe you will do just fine? Should we go to the station now, or is it wearing down your nerves?¡± ¡±No, I want a bit more time.¡± Her usual energetic self vanished, replaced by a concerned look. She seems to understand the grave implication of what she has done better than most of her age. Or above her age, considering the politics of my last life. World? Did I die in between? Maybe the booklet mentioned it, but I don¡¯t remember. ¡±Hello, what can I do for you?¡± ¡±Please take a look at our Pok¨¦mon, and could I have a diagnosis for mine at least?¡± At the last words, Sabrina looked at Vanessa, trying to ask through her gaze if she needs a diagnosis too. A sad smile spread on her face before she nodded. Nurse Joy seems to understand and smiles, not letting her bad mood spread, which would make Vanessa probably feel guilty. She seems to be a bit surprised as Sabrina gave her the whole six, as she is informed of her circumstances. But a joyful smile appears as she sees that Vanessa also caught a Pok¨¦mon as she gave over her three Pok¨¦balls. Wait, three?! ¡±Nessa, you didn¡¯t?¡± ¡±I thought it would be easier this way. And he should also get a check-up.¡± ¡±Well, at least you don¡¯t have to walk into the station like a convict with that.¡± Sabrina and Vanessa go to the side, to a waiting room. There, they can see how Nurse Joy put Sabrina¡¯s Pok¨¦mon first in the machine. Six pictures of Pok¨¦mon appear: her starter Bulbasaur, accidental catch Abra, backstabbed Vulpix, trying to play through Exeggcute, down-feeling baby Oddish, and in temporary care, Comfey. The thing with Comfey is that she goes along like she decided to be her Pok¨¦mon, to have a better picture of what she would get into when she really accepts or if she should decline. Seeing the lineup of Pok¨¦mon seems to be quite surprising, as Nurse Joy steals a glance, wide-eyed, at Sabrina. After giving the tablet with Pok¨¦balls to Chansey, who then walks away, she puts in Vanessa¡¯s Pok¨¦balls. Both can feel how the world seems to slow down while they hold their breath. The moment of truth. As Nurse Joy inserted the last Pok¨¦ball and let the Healing Machine do its job, nothing happened. Only the nurse reacts at seeing a picture of Zapdos with great surprise and even a bit of joy. She quickly took the Pok¨¦balls out again and made her way to the waiting room. Vanessa looks confused at Sabrina, but she just stares at the window, not understanding what¡¯s going on. Enjoying the story? Show your support by reading it on the official site.As she sits closer to the window, Vanessa doesn¡¯t appear in her view before she turns to Arian at the sudden sound of a door slamming open. ¡±Vanessa, this is amazing! You are the one who managed to capture Zapdos?¡± ¡±Well, ehh, yes. Yeah, I did.¡± ¡±That¡¯s great! I didn¡¯t know you were such a talented trainer!¡± Sabrina and Vanessa exchange bamboozled gazes before looking in at Nurse Joy as if she is a Pikachu who said, ¡®Boah, what a hard day. Does someone have a cold one?¡¯. Sensing something amiss, she quickly explains. ¡±I was contacted by Interpol, the international police, regarding the vanishing of Zapdos. They wanted me to keep an eye open. You don¡¯t need to worry. Even though they are legendary Pok¨¦mon, they are still Pok¨¦mon and beings with their own will. It didn¡¯t end well last time when they were seen as anything else than that. Since it would have been plainly obvious by thunderstorms and Articuno and Moltres reaction if it was caught against its will, it¡¯s treated as willingly captured, which is completely legal after the law.¡± ¡±What about the balance between the three Legendary Birds to ensure the Sea Current stays as it is?¡± ¡°Zapdos just has to sometimes go back to the Island of Thunder and ensure no one is encroaching into his territory. Their presence isn¡¯t needed all day, because if it were, then it implies that they would have to do something all day. They are more like managers who don¡¯t actually do anything but have to check sometimes if everything runs smoothly. If theyhad to do something actively 24/7, then they would have ditched the job long ago. I would have, at least. And Lugia ensures that no battle will break out without good reason, so no one will encroach on his territory.¡± ¡±I see. I don¡¯t really get why it¡¯s fine, but at least there won¡¯t be any climate catastrophe.¡± ¡±Does that mean I won¡¯t have to go to jail?¡± ¡±No. It¡¯s a common misconception, in a way. You may even be asked of Assistance by the Government to get crystals Balls from the Islands if a dire Situation arrives.¡± ¡±Ahh, I¡¡± ¡±Is it really fine, just like that? Nothing to watch out for?¡± ¡±Well, other people will bother you about it, some even trying to strong-arm you to give you the Pok¨¦mon. But even if you submit to their demands, at worst Zapdos would be disappointed in you and fly away after beating the person up. What is illegal is to use Zapdos''s power for crimes or carelessly use it. You are responsible for him, so when he does something bad, it falls on you.¡± While Sabrina asked the question, Nurse Joy mainly talked to Vanessa, as she needs to know it more urgently. Having seemingly forgotten, or too absorbed in what she got told, she forgot the crystal balls. Sabrina is unsure if she should have interrupted her, but for now she wants to keep responsibilities away from her. Vanessa faced Zapdos before showing it the Crystal head-on, and he had the guts to throw a Pok¨¦ball! Until she matures a bit more, she shouldn¡¯t try to handle too much. Mainly for Sabrina¡¯s mental well-being. ¡±Sabby, thank you.¡± ¡±Ah, no. I unnecessarily scared you.¡± ¡±No, I was scared before! But I didn¡¯t have any idea what I was supposed to do. I already knew it¡¯s a Legendary Pok¨¦mon, as Jerome said it¡¯s the legendary Zapdos, but I didn¡¯t understand its further implication. If I hadn¡¯t asked, or if you hadn¡¯t explained it to me, I would have just continued hiding him and been scared of the moment it got found out.¡± ¡±Well, asking is always a good thing to do. Even though I also have some complex emotions right now about how I should think of it. But first, I should follow my own advice, since it seems I will have to take care of Pok¨¦monat the age of little kids for now.¡± ¡±Ehh, really?¡± ¡±Yes, I believe Exeggcute is a bit young, while Oddish and Comfey still seem to have some growing to do.¡± ¡±Wow, I didn¡¯t even notice.¡± ¡±Already perked up again? Good to see you smile again.¡± ¡±Mm, thanks, Sabby. Really.¡± ¡±No worry. I just want to lie down in bed since the whole day is going over my head.¡± ¡±?¡± ¡±Ah, Nurse Joy, I have some things to ask.¡± It ended up unexpectedly fine. I hope it will continue like that. Wait, no! I wouldn¡¯t want to be faced with such a situation again! 20. Nurse Joy’s Consultation Vanessa decided to wait in the waiting room, reading the diagnosis about her Pok¨¦mon. She feels content, just sitting there, reading, knowing everything is fine and she doesn¡¯t need to worry. For about a minute until she read through the easy-to-understand bits and now has to decipher the rest. Sabrina wanted to talk about something relatively sensitive with Nurse Joy. Both entered a private room for consultation and similar talk better done in privacy. Even though she wants to retort if it¡¯s fine to go away, she profits from it, so she keeps quiet about it. It¡¯s not her anyway. Maybe she should bring it up in the end. ¡±You don¡¯t have to worry. I will be busy in the near future, but right now Chansey can deal with anything not too unusual.¡± ¡±We just walked in with a Zapdos, and Vanessa was plainly congratulated. If that didn¡¯t cause an uproar, then I fear the whole of Celadon City won¡¯t be able to deal with anything ¡®unusual.¡¯.¡± ¡±Eheh.¡± Nurse Joy scratched her cheek, embarrassed at the retort. ¡±It¡¯s true that having a Legendary Pok¨¦mon get captured by you is not an everyday occurrence¡¡± ¡±Lacking arguments or words?¡± ¡±Words. What I want to say is that even if we want, there just isn¡¯t much we can do. Even if we fight against Legendary Pok¨¦mon and win somehow, they are just too important for the world to risk antagonizing them.¡± ¡±So, they are basically such bigshots that anything else but ignoring their antics would just invite more trouble?¡± ¡±The analogy might be misleading, since needs and social structure of Pok¨¦mon are completely different from humans, but yes.¡± ¡±Huh. We should stop it here. I might get a headache from all of that. What I wanted to ask is something that is related to all of my new Pok¨¦mon. I will need your consultation not only on how to take care of young Pok¨¦mon, something specific to their species, but also about a traumatizing experience.¡± Sabrina released all her Pok¨¦mon beforehand and gave them the choice of either listening or staying outside. They talked to themselves and came to the conclusion of everyone listening. Bulbasaur also takes part in the conversation, watching over Exeggcute, Oddish, and Comfey. Birds of a feather tend to flock together. Even though Comfey isn¡¯t a Grass type. More of an honorable Grass-type Pok¨¦mon. ¡±I see. Is it something you would rather hand over to a Hypno or something to talk about and give advice on how to treat your Pok¨¦mon?¡± Nurse Joy doesn¡¯t seem to omit anything just because the Pok¨¦mon are present. Sabrina had a slight, sad smile at the option of an Hypno, knowing it wouldn¡¯t be good. She isn¡¯t convinced of the belief that ¡®every experience shapes a person, which is why we should never let people conveniently forget memories!¡¯ or what the argument was again. While it was never something she actively thought about, a bit of self-reflection makes that clear. Every choice shapes the character, and forgetting something or not is also a choice. And sometimes, forgetting is just easier for one. Who will have anything from purposely retaining bad memories that will weigh on someone down? Shaking her current thoughts out, Sabrina focuses her attention on the current situation again. ¡°It¡¯s about their Guardian they had. They won¡¯t see him again. But we met for a short time before he decided to put their care into my hands.¡±If you stumble upon this narrative on Amazon, it''s taken without the author''s consent. Report it. ¡±It might be rude to ask, but who was their Guardian? To have such a young Comfey means he probably had an egg.¡± ¡±That¡¯s where it will get a bit weird. It was a Drampa in the forest.¡± Sabrina looked down at the table while talking but quickly looked upward to see the standing Nurse Joy. She created sudden noises as she quickly stood up and pushed her chair away. Surprised, Sabrina looks up to see Nurse Joy¡¯s astonished and serious face. ¡®Yep, aha. Serious Business. There might be a Zapdos in my clinic right now, but hearing about a Drampa is much more urgent.¡¯ goes sarcastically through Sabrina¡¯s head. ¡±Let me put this together. There was a wild Drampa in the forest out there; you met it, and then it gave you five other probably at this point wild Pok¨¦mon in your care. ¡±I don¡¯t know if itwas wild, but it was fought by two burly men, one with Lapras and the other with Machoke, until it released a Dragon Breath to the sky. The damage should still be clearly visible, unless local Pok¨¦mon did something against it.¡± ¡±Can we safely assume that the Dragon Breath was the same Pillar of Violet Fire that was spotted around noon?¡± ¡±Yep. Considering Drampa used berries to heal itself before getting damaged again to maximize the special attack enhancement from Berserk, it¡¯s very likely that it should have been visible from the city.¡± ¡±It wasn¡¯t. Or rather, without a good view, it wasn¡¯t. The distance was too large to make it visible unless they were on an outpost. How did you reach that far?¡± ¡±Abra teleported me.¡± ¡±I see.¡± Way at about the distance to large? It reached the clouds! And how she said it, as if distance could reliably obscure the vision, but being on a higher point of vantage helps? Is it some other world Pok¨¦mon shenanigans, or do physics work differently here? ¡ It was supposed to be a tiny vent session on my mind, but were there really some kind of restrictions for stuff like that? Oh yeah, maybe there is. Would suck to get hit by a Mega-evolved Dynamax Gyarados Hyper Beam if that works. Maybe moves really have a range restriction, or something similar? ¡±Well, we should continue our consultation. Am I right that you don¡¯t want them to forget?¡° ¡±Yes.¡± ¡±That¡¯s good. But I need to say, I can¡¯t give any solid advice. Every Pok¨¦mon is different in how they can be helped with that. I can only say that you should lend them an ear and comfort them when needed, give them space when needed, and be honest. Also, it will never go away. Don¡¯t expect them to be ¡®cured¡¯ from it one day. It might sound superfluous, but it¡¯s always good to have a person say it out loud to you.¡± ¡°Hmm. I guess that¡¯s the best I can ask for.¡± ¡±Yes. Sadly, the journey will begin shortly, so I won¡¯t be able to be of much help when it does. But feel free to come before that if you ever need help. Or when your Pok¨¦mon got injured.¡± ¡±Will do. And I need to ask something else. As you can see, those three are not fully grown up. At least I guess so.¡± ¡±No, you are right. Oddish is fine; you can treat her as fully grown already. Comfey is closer to being a baby¡¯s but well educated. Just don¡¯t stress her too much, but that¡¯s something you should never do. Her stress limit right now is a bit lower than normal for Pok¨¦mon, so watch out for that. What stands out is the Exeggcute. It¡¯s on the edge of full maturity, but it seems to not have gotten much in the way of nutrients since your age, leading to it being underdeveloped. And it¡¯s alone. Is there any other Exeggcute it shares a mental bond with?¡± ¡°I don¡¯t know what a mental bond is, and no.¡± ¡±Ah, up it''s just. You know how Exeggcute and his evolution, Exeggutor, can talk with each head mentally? That''s what is asked for in the case of Exeggcute. Alternatively, it can mean a connection between psychic Pok¨¦mon and Trainer, made through means from the Psychic Pok¨¦mon. There are potentially many meanings, but those two are the most important. I would recommend looking such things up for the various Pok¨¦mon types; it can give insight into your Pok¨¦mon too. And, when he really is alone and was beforehand, then he probably really has none.¡± ¡±Could it be related to him being underdeveloped?¡± ¡±Yes, but not like you think. They flock together as a means to defend themselves and search efficiently for sustenance. Did you never wonder why there are five Pok¨¦mon but they use Moves with the effectivity of one Pok¨¦mon and then only one Move? It¡¯s not that they have a fifth of the regular strength of Pok¨¦mon, but they are weaker alone. A mental bond is especially important for them since they can synchro then. For Psychic Moves, they all coordinate their attack while supplying the needed energy, for example, Grass Moves, to one Pok¨¦mon. The golden number in that case is five; everything above has a barely noticeable increase.¡± 21. A new Case! Doesn’t have anything to do with me! ¡°I see. But what about evolving? They only have three Heads then.¡± ¡±Good question, which you don¡¯t need to worry about. You see, the bond between Exeggcute is not only special because of the synchronization, but also because they are slow. assimilation to one mind. More or less. None of the personalities will be gone, but every personality is in the same mind. It¡¯s hard to explain, since they don¡¯t really get mixed but still fuse together. But we don¡¯t deny the possibility of a personality change. While Exeggcutes are rather somber or even a bit angry, most Exeggutors are pretty jolly.¡± ¡±Huh, that¡¯s a bit hard to grasp, but I think I understand.¡± ¡±Having a rough idea is enough. But still, a lone Exeggcute.¡± ¡±As I thought, it¡¯s a problem.¡± ¡±Yes, No. When you expect it to fight or evolve, that will be impossible until it connects with others. Otherwise everything is fine, even though itshould get lonelier faster, but you will have to give your Pok¨¦mon special attention anyway.¡± ¡±I don¡¯t plan on neglecting them. Also not Bulbasaur.¡± At her words, Sabrina shifts her gaze to Bulbasaur, who was a bit out of the loop. He began to visibly brighten up at her words. ¡±Okay, when you find out more, please consult with me. Chansey can also help mediate when needed. But I am afraid we can¡¯t stop this talk. ¡±Is it about Drampa?¡± ¡±Yes. Drampa is neither native to Kanto nor to the forest. From your words, I take it he died of old age. ¡°Seems so. The fight also has worn him down. I guess he was male, by the way.¡± ¡±Can I ask you to keep it a secret?" We would also need to know the rough location.¡± ¡±When you talk about ¡®we¡¯, you mean an official institution that needs to take care of it?¡± ¡±The Rangers, mainly, and the Government. I pride myself on being reliable enough to be connected and informed with all that.¡± ¡±Ahah, must be a high standard of trustworthiness.¡± (Monotone) ¡±Ahem, Drampa was released by a Trainer who wanted to protect a little Pok¨¦mon that lived around her. Same Pok¨¦mon was and is targeted by the infamous Team Rocket.¡± ¡±When we are at that point, why is it called Team Rocket when it¡¯s a whole organization? I mean, the team would suggest a smaller number of people.¡± ¡±Uhm, I don¡¯t know? Every evil organization seems to have team in its name, so I never thought about that. Anyway, I need to ask you to stay out of that in the future. Will the two men remember you?¡± ¡±Hard to say. I shouted at them to run away, since I noticed Drampa using his Berserk ability while munching on berries, fearing the worst. Otherwise, when they know I have the Pok¨¦mon he took care of in my custody, who knows what they will think? ¡±Were you there in that outfit?¡± ¡±Ah, yes. Probably not hard to associate it with me, a newly arrived berry farmer.¡±If you discover this narrative on Amazon, be aware that it has been stolen. Please report the violation. ¡±Indeed.¡± I currently wear clothes that, I don¡¯t know if they are fit for clothing, but look like prejudiced, good-looking, modern farm girl clothes. Bib shorts looking like jeans cover me even better than a proper apron for kitchen staff, with a loose T-shirt below visible. At least from outside, as I have an undershirt underneath additionally. Simple but good-looking boots in a darker shade of brown and a straw hat complement the outfit perfectly. ¡±How good were they at fighting?¡± ¡±Can¡¯t say. Lapras fired off an Ice Beam while the Trainee just stood to the side. For Machoke, I believe Close Combat, even though I think it made cross motions. So also either Cross or Dual Chop.¡± I remember that Machoke can unexpectedly get the Dragon Move Dual Chop. It kind of stood out in the Machoke Move list. Naturally, I don¡¯t remember them from my past life, but I looked it up in my Pok¨¦dex now. Even though it¡¯s surprising, with Abra it was already mentioned which moves it can learn naturally, so maybe it¡¯s fine? Close Combat wasn¡¯t on the list, but considering Machoke, it isn¡¯t unnatural it can learn it. ¡±Did it need to heal through the damage fast?¡± ¡±Wouldn¡¯t say so. He was pretty slow-paced with munching. And I bet the fight was going on for a while, with Drampa not striking back. Even though unharmed, both Lapras and Machoke were sweating.¡± ¡°Hm, he was still going strong. Were there any other Pok¨¦mon near?¡± ¡±When, then, they fled at the Dragon Breath. Abra and Vulpixwere already with me, while Exeggcute, Oddish, and Comfey were in a burrow. The first two were clearly visible, while I saw the pink flower of Comfey¡¯s flower wreath from an angle. She gave it then later to Drampa, so she doesn¡¯t have it anymore.¡± Comfey, who suddenly felt talked to, perks up. On her band are some carefully plucked and placed wildflowers, found on the side of Route 7. Opposed to the usual picture of Comfey, where the flowers are lined up, she intricately weaves them. Which also makes her band look pretty lonely, as she only covered one third by now, which isn¡¯t much considering she still has to grow. But Sabrina is a bit proud, seeing her so selective and meticulous in her craft of creating a weave. Even though she isn¡¯t actually her Pok¨¦mon. Officially, it may be different, but that¡¯s how it is. ¡±Okay. Could you tell the place?¡± ¡±Sorry, no. I don¡¯t have a sense of direction; Abra teleported me there, and I didn¡¯t carefully watch on the way back. Again, Abra nudged me in the right direction.¡± ¡±I see. Could Abra place a sender there, so we¡¯ll know through the signal?¡± Abra looks visibly uncomfortable at the thought before slowly nodding. ¡±You don¡¯t have to when you don¡¯t want to." I can just lead the way. That¡¯s something I should at least manage.¡± He looks in her direction, his face seemingly showing a sad and resigned smile, even though it¡¯s hard to say. Sabrina placed a hand comfortingly on his shoulder, which he placed his hand on and tried to push away. But he can barely exercise any force, showing against his will how reluctant he is. ¡±No worries." I will do that. Can you, meanwhile, watch over the others, since I will leave you at home?¡± Abra looked a bit shocked at Sabrina but understood that he didn¡¯t really have a say in that. Or rather, she tries to bear the responsibility of the choice, lifting a bit of weight off his shoulder while mostly preventing him from blaming himself for making a choice. He grips her hand a bit tighter, showing that he agrees to it. Not only watching over them, but also that she should go without them. ¡±My, Abra seems to be very attentive to details. I wonder if he already had interactions with humans.¡± ¡±Possible, but let¡¯s put that aside. Do you need anything else?¡± ¡°Besides your word that you keep silent about and you guiding others to the spot, no.¡± ¡±I see. I will take my leave then.¡± Sabrina walks out with her Pok¨¦mon. She kept Bulbasaur, Exeggcute, and Oddish in her arms, later two cradled in them while she held Bulbasaur against her chest. Comfey seems to have fun playing a flower hairband, but because of her lacking circumference, she twists her band to make Sabrina¡¯s hair a ponytail instead. Vulpix and Abra can walk, or float, behind them, which they do. ¡±Ah, no, nothing.¡± For a short moment, she wanted to ask if she would know something about Tauros, but decided against it. They already parted ways on mutual agreement. Messing around now holds just to be useless. Going back to the waiting room, she sees Vanessa looking at the diagnosis sheets with her Pok¨¦mon. Currently, she seems to be explaining something to Pidgey. With Growlithe sleeping at her feet and a very interested-looking Zapdos looking over her shoulder. ARCEEUUUUUUSSSSSS!!! 22. Welcome to the Ranch, my new Pokémon! ¡°Pray, Arceus, tell, no, what are you, no, Vanessa, you¡¡± Grrrr, I don¡¯t find the right words! ¡±¡¡± ¡±Haaaaa, you don¡¯t even get what you did wrong, did you?¡± shake ¡±Releasing a Legendary Pok¨¦mon in a public building anyone can walk in, probably scaring them in the process, which might even cause extreme reactions, just so that you can try to ask your Pok¨¦mon what they think the diagnosis means. Does that ring a bell? ¡±That is what I just did.¡± ¡±Correct. Do you think there might be anything wrong with that?¡± ¡±Nurse Joy said that it should be fine, as long as I dissuade troublesome people.¡± ¡±First, dissuasion might not always work. Clearly push them away; when they continue to approach you, extreme measures such as calling the police should be fine. Don¡¯t let yourself get harassed. Second, ¡®Nurse Joy said¡¯ won¡¯t cut it out! What would you do when you enter the waiting room while your Pok¨¦mon gets treated and see a Gyarados right before your nose? ¡±I would probably call Zapdos to help.¡± ¡±¡ I am speechless. Really? Calling Zapdos?!¡± ¡±Psst, keep your voice a bit down, please.¡± exhale¡±Then please, please¡ try to understand what you did wrong.¡± ¡±I won¡¯t call out Legendary Pok¨¦mon casually more.¡± ¡±Yes. Yes, thank you. Wait, Legendary Pok¨¦mon? You say it as if you had more?¡± ¡±No. Only Zapdos.¡± ¡°Ha, good.¡± Just by entering the room, Sabrina already stood near Zapdos. The meaning face, occasionally discharges all over its body, and the pressure from being near it sapped out all of her strength and courage. Vanessa noticed at some point the pale girl standing in the room and looked at her, trying to say something. But before she could formulate her first words, Sabrina already swished her head in her direction, creating eye contact. For a moment, Vanessa feels like looking into the eyes of a vengeful spirit, which will haunt her all the way down to the underworld. As she tried to reflexively cover herself, she was already packed by the shoulder, looking directly into the face of a very angry Sabrina. Her Pok¨¦mon sensed something amiss at the time but had varying reactions. Zapdos looked a bit bored, shuffling its feathers comfortably before calling itself back, looking like it wanted to rest. Pidgey already chose the flight reaction as Sabrina¡¯s head flung this way, flying outside the room and beyond. Growlithe stands to the side, quietly panting, seeming to wait for the lecture to be over to play, oblivious to the stifling atmosphere. As Sabrina collapsed exhausted in a chair, he jumps into Vanessa¡¯s stomach with a very light jump. ¡±Eehhhhhmmmm, I would need to find Pidgey now.¡± ¡±Do that, and don¡¯t forget the papers." Just ask your parents or look it up. This content has been unlawfully taken from Royal Road; report any instances of this story if found elsewhere. At this point, you could just call Zapdos out in your home.¡± ¡±Okay, thank you!¡± Thank you, she says. Am I her guardian or something? ¡±And don¡¯t pick fights with Gyarados, you hear me?¡± ¡ No response. She won¡¯t, right? Right? ¡±Haaaaaaaaa.¡± ¡±Sorry, I ended up neglecting you all.¡± Sabrina talks to her Pok¨¦balls, every one of her Pok¨¦mon having dodged witnessing the scene by calling themself back. She puts the papers carefully in her bag, not having the motivation to read it. Walking. That¡¯s her only option now: to go back to the farm. Not that it was any different before, but now it feels especially exhausting. Shortly before being out of the city, she sees an orange-red flash passing by and stopping before her. ¡±Hey, I heard you came back?¡± Vanessa¡¯s mother, which name she already forgot, sits before her on her Arcanine. It¡¯s noticeable that she is a bit confused why she is so weary, evidence that she left before Vanessa came back. Either because she left fast after hearing about them coming back or bad timing. Idly, she wondered how Nick, was his name?, would react at seeing Zapdos. ¡±Want me to give you a ride?¡± She wears a polite smile as she asks. And shifts a bit around as Sabrina began to smile nefariously at the thought. ¡±I gladly take you up on that offer. If possible, without using extreme speed or something similar that would require me wearing goggles.¡± Sabrina composes herself before answering. The second sentence was an afterthought, seeing the Mothers Googles, Biker outfit, and remembering their entrance from before. Even though a bit surprised at how she answered, the mother still begins to smile genuinely at her words. ¡±Sure. Hop on.¡± She looks at the standing Arcanine and wonders how she should ¡®hop on¡¯ before thinking she could just try. Since she isn¡¯t physically exhausted, a bit of run-up and a high-aimed jump aren¡¯t too demanding. To her surprise, and also the mothers and Arcanine''s, she reaches the height pretty good. Before gravity could take control over completely, Sabrina holds on to the mothers, holding herself down and a bit forwards. The back was safely reached in her jump, but she was pretty to the side, nearly sliding down again. Now being in a more comfortable position, she positioned her leg left and right while facing in the same direction as Arcanine and the mother. ¡±Okay. Everyone ready? Let¡¯s go!¡± Monica! Her name was Monica. As Monica gave her signal, Arcanine took off like an arrow. At least he doesn¡¯t seem to use any Moves, is what Sabrina can think of as the surroundings flash past too fast for her to make anything out. Even when she tries to look forwards, using Monica as a shield for dust and insects, itstill feels like flashing past. She also needs to duck down a bit, being relatively tall for her age, while the adult woman leans forward like a shrimp. Having gotten a very visual presentation once about the consequences, Sabrina does have a bit better posture, even when not perfect. So she thinks it''s grueling how she leans forward so much, but rethinks about is as she remembers her appearance in the dining room in her House. Maybe this is just an exception and not the norm. ¡±We are there!¡± ¡±That was fast.¡± ¡±Of course! How many Pok¨¦mon do you think are there that can rival his running speed?¡± ¡±Hmm, I guess that is what you can expect of a Pok¨¦mon that learns Extreme Speed at his evolution.¡± ¡±You know your stuff, I must say. Most probably would have never heard about the move, but you even know that.¡± ¡±Well, when things are interesting to you, it¡¯s natural that you learn them. Arcanine is something that comes in conjunction with Kanto rather easily, legend status and all.¡± ¡±Ah, right. That¡¯s like, four, nearing five years already that it was found out it only needs a Fire Stone. Before, they were said to be legendary Pok¨¦mon. I am surprised you know that.¡± ¡°I did my homework before coming. And also, Kantos legends are very interesting.¡± ¡°Oh, glad to hear that. Then bye!¡± With that, Monica turns around and vanishes in a blur. A prime example use of extreme speed on an open field. Hopefully, she crashes in no one. ¡±I wonder if there is a speed limit for Pok¨¦mon. Well, Arcanine shouldn¡¯t be so stupid as to crash into something or someone.¡± Sabrina began to take all her Pok¨¦balls currently used in her hand, reversing the miniaturization. Gripping three in each hand, she threw them into the air. ¡±Welcome to my little Berry Ranch! Let me be your guide.¡± She says it in a dramatic voice and ends it with a bow. There are quite a few things she has to do until the next harvest. Let¡¯s not waste time! 23. Relaxing Day It¡¯s a new day after the whole commotion. Yesterday, Sabrina got to know their move set and learned a bit more about her Pok¨¦mon. She also read another book on farming, but seeing how the content goes well over her head, she will read a cooking or common sense book in the future. It at least helped her with planning on how to plant new trees, how far from the river, which one facing east, and so on. A bit, at least. Sabrina had to look up some things, but it worked out. Oddish has Absorb, Growth, Acid, Sweet Scent, and Charm and seems very invested in practicing Absorb. Acid, especially, is not something that Sabrina would have recognized, as she simply didn¡¯t know the move. Absorb is special, as is Acid, which can lower special defense with a low chance. She is unsure if she should go for a buff/debuff strategy, but it might work well against physical attackers, and she lacks options. Especially since Absorb can heal Oddish. Exeggcute has Absorb, Hypnosis, Reflect, Leech Seed, and Protect. Protect? It has Protect? But the Combination is also nasty, as it will heal and protect itself while slowly damaging the opponent. And is it trying to learn Psybeam? Sabrina could only guess, but it seems to be that, at least after Exeggcute. Comfey knows Wrap, Growth, Vine Whip, Helping Hand, and Draining Kiss, and what she found out is Trailblaze. Vine Whip requires her to whip out her band body part, but from there seems to extend a vine that is, seemingly, made with the same energy as most other Grass-type moves. While not having Absorb or Leech Seed, isn¡¯t it still ridiculous how three of her Pok¨¦mon have attacks that recover health by damage? And why does Comfey have the best options for physical moves? Or rather, she is the only one with some! Abra has only Teleport and Telekinesis. From what she gathered, he seems to work on the same kind of field and an attack version of telekinesis. Field is probably Psychic Terrain then? Not getting hit by attacks with a higher priority, was it? Pairs well with Teleport as an evasive maneuver, I think. Vulpix has Tail Whip, Ember, Disable, Quick Attack, and Encore. It¡¯s funny how Vulpix tried to be the bigger person but seems to be the most unwilling. Meanwhile, Comfey is very comfortable beside Sabrina, even though she is the only one not having given her agreement. Anyway, her first thought was that Vulpix would have the upper hand against any starting Charmander trainer. With good planning and maybe an additional move, Growlithe would also work. On further thinking, Vulpix generally has an advantage over most others starting out already by having Encore and Disable. But Defense. That could be a breaking point. Maybe. Sabrina never battled in real. After having slept and found out all of her Pok¨¦mon¡¯s moves, she looks over the diagnosis. One thing that makes her jump is Exeggcute. It has Harvest! That is as recommended, and the name alone promises great things. Well, at least when you have a Berry Ranch. Or a farm in general. That is very good. At least she thinks so; she doesn¡¯t know what it is even supposed to do. The rest are more normal: Vulpix with Flash Fire, Oddish with Chlorophyll, Bulbasaur with Overgrow, Comfey with her unique Triage, and Abra with Inner Focus. Sabrina feels really lucky. Also because Comfey doesn¡¯t need to have Triage, even as it¡¯s subjectively the better option. Otherwise, it would either have its secret ability like Exeggcute or Flower Veil, which only has an effect on allied Grass-type Pok¨¦mon. On that note, why does Exeggcute have its secret ability? Well, she doesn¡¯t know where Drampa picked it up. ¡°Okay, what do you all plan to do? Everyone besides Comfey and Vulpix seems to want to train something, as far as I know.¡±Reading on this site? This novel is published elsewhere. Support the author by seeking out the original. A round of nods goes through the Pok¨¦mon. ¡±Well, when you want to train now, do as you please. Just don¡¯t destroy the field or disturb others.¡± Comfey and Vulpix are the only ones not going away. Opposed to the little Fairy, Vulpix looks a bit uncomfortable, wanting to go away but not having thought of anything to train. ¡±How about you either try to strengthen your Ember or learn Sunny Day? We have three Pok¨¦mon that can profit from it, including you. Oddish gets faster; Bulbasaur wouldn¡¯t have to charge Solar Beam when he learns it, and you get your Fire Moves enhanced. Also, Water Moves get weaker. You could also contribute to the farm.¡± Vulpix''s ears perk up at the weakening effect but drop at the contribution point. With an accusing glare, Vulpix settles down on the grass. ¡±Don¡¯t take it the wrong way, but you are pretty much the only one who can¡¯t help in the farm.¡± With a jerk, Vulpix stands again and looks at her ill-mannered. ¡±Exeggcute and Abra have psychic powers, while the former is also a Grass Pok¨¦mon. Bulbasaur has Vines, and Oddish¡¯s nectar or saliva is very nutritious; it is also a Grass Pok¨¦mon. Comfey has a strong plant affinity and can float. So everyone has a way to pick berries or at least help the plants in a way, I would say. Only you can do nothing.¡± Yes, I am purposely provoking her while trying to sound innocent. Itdoesn¡¯t take a genius to see how insulted she feels at being ¡®useless.¡¯. And I can learn more about her by her reaction. Is she so prideful that she tries now to learn Sunny Day? Will she further deny her help or try to play me by doing something else helpful? Oh, she distanced herself and looked up. She seems to be trying Sunny Day. ¡±Vuuuuu. Vuuuulpix!¡± She cried a bit out in the sky, but nothing changed. After a bit of trying around, she begins to fire Embers in the Sky. As she finally recognizes it¡¯s useless, unwillingly, she makes eye contact with Sabrina. While there is a mask of ¡®I do this to help you, so you should teachme,¡¯¡¯the pleading in her eyes is visible. Sabrina melts a bit at the sight of the cute creature, approaching her and trying to help. ¡±You see the Sun? That sunlight you feel, try to intensify it. Don¡¯t go on it while thinking that more sun or heat should be, but rather enhance it so it can give power to your fire. Sunny Day¡¯s effect is supposed to cover the battlefield. You don¡¯t need to worry about anything else. Can you try to enhance the light shining at you right now?¡± Vulpix just stares at her annoyed, seemingly not wanting to admit something. Honestly, Sabrina just dished her up something that sounded plausible, but nothing she wouldn¡¯t be convinced of herself. Quickly navigating the Pok¨¦dex, she finds streaming platforms are accessible. Use of Sunny Day in Leagues, Arenas, or normal Pok¨¦mon fights, she finds a bit of everything. Or rather, there is a channel that makes a video for each move to help Pok¨¦mon and trainees who try to teach their Pok¨¦mon, balancing where and how Sunny Day was used. The little Pok¨¦mon was attentive at the beginning, but halfway through, it was rather of use on side-eyeing Sabrina, who was intently of use all the time. Huffing, she turns around and tries to train Sunny Day. Not noticing how Sabrina quickly turns around as Hershey faces her back, concentrating on her tail. Indeed, only three Tails. It just looks like nine from how her fur is arranged! Well, she also behaves like a teenager anyway. I think. Never was a mother or good at self-reflection. Wonder how the training is going on from the other Pok¨¦mon. Sabrina goes around to see the progress of each Pok¨¦mon. She notes down how each of them seems to have made distance to each other to train. Comfey began again to act as an improvised hair tie, with what she now recognizes as a wrap to properly make her hair into a ponytail. Absentmindedly, Sabrina browsed a page of flower stores in Celadon City. The variety is good, and she takes screenshots of every picture at which Comfey seems to be especially agitated, even when she doesn¡¯t look at the screen in the moment. It¡¯s pretty noticeable when your hair tie makes erratic movements. 24. A bit of Training and Comfey, the cutie Everyone is still training, so feeling a bit out of place, Sabrina began to run around the field and house. Comfey seems to be quite happy with the wind flowing through her hair. Ironic how everyone seems to have been conflicted about being under a trainer, but they live so harmoniously together now. Even Vulpix seems to only want to protect her pride with that attitude, instead of really rejecting her. Having thought about it, she now wants to make a proposal to Comfey. ¡±Hey, Comfey.¡± She doesn¡¯t pant as much as expected. ¡±Com?¡± ¡±What if you become really one of ¡®my¡¯ Pok¨¦mon for now, and I will release you if you want?¡± ¡±Com? Com Comfey?¡± ¡±It wouldn¡¯t make much of a difference in practice, but¡ I guess I place an invisible barrier in my mind. Well, it would be troublesome if it were visible and with that material. Anyway, I guess we feel plenty close already, but, you know. You also hold back with what you want to do with my hair, right? I don¡¯t want to say that the distance and politeness are bad; on the contrary, they can ensure long-lasting friendships. But there is the invisible tension between you and me. Between all of you and me. Now that I think about it, you would probably be the stepping stone in that case if you agree.¡± *wish* ¡°Comfey!¡± ¡°Ouch, okay. Stepping Stone would be mean! Pioneer. How about Pioneer!¡± Comfey used Vine Whip in a large and pretty harmless way to slap Sabrina¡¯s neck from behind. Sabrina was pretty surprised, having to guess what she is dissatisfied with. From Comfey¡¯s tone, she doesn¡¯t really seem to be indignant about the prospect, so she thinks she doesn¡¯t like the words used. ¡±Okay, okay. Pioneer Comfey, the Bridge between Pok¨¦mon and Trainer.¡± Surprised by the sudden hair in her face, Sabrina slows down until she comes to a stop. Only now she notices she feels winded, which is surprising. Only winded, and her legs also didn¡¯t hurt like hell. Maybe she got overconfident in how she runs; it¡¯s Pok¨¦mon shenanigans, or Arceus did something. Or a combination. ¡±Sorry. But really, thank you. It¡¯s not only helpful for me but also very brave of you.¡± Comfey came face to face with Sabrina, having a pout and a slightly teary-eyed face. A mix of being embarrassed about the title and being proud of it seems to fight over control of her facial features. And since such a battle ensued, which troubles her, she naturally had to look accusing of the one stirring up trouble. Sabrina thinks about girls in anime, who look like that at the protagonist for one reason or another. Unknowingly to Comfey, she is speedrunning Sabrina¡¯s fondness level right now. Instead, her face gets proud as Sabrina sincerely thanks and praises her. She gently coops up the little Pok¨¦mon, still holding her hair together, and presses her against her cheek. Not only not resisting, but Comfey even leans in, finding it rather comforting and warm. Sarbina, on the other hand, feels her cheek getting a bit tickled, as not only Comfey but also her hair gets pressed against. Additionally, Comfey moves a bit up and down, which makes her hair follow suit. ¡±But are you sure? I don¡¯t doubt your resolve, but you initially declined for a purpose, right?¡± ¡°Com!¡± Comfey only gave her a hands-up, as she lacks thumbs, or fingers for that matter. Unauthorized content usage: if you discover this narrative on Amazon, report the violation. But the gesture is well understood and appreciated. She only declined because she was overthinking, feeling unsure if she can ever feel at ease after leaving Drampa, being a good partner, and more. In the end, it was fine to just go with the flow. There wasn¡¯t any complicated issue behind it, just two people who crossed ways and walked the same path for now. For now. Feeling the words resonate in her heart, Comfey looks down for a bit. Her last words to Drampa. An apology for only having given him a flower wreath now. Drampa reacted a bit surprised before encouraging her. ¡®That¡¯s fine; just know to make many wreaths to cherish any encounter. So you don¡¯t need to regret anymore¡¯. Comfey is still young, but she got taught about how she can regret things. Looking up to Sabrina, there is a small, soft spark now. It¡¯s weak right now, but she plans on fanning it. ¡±¡¡± Sabrina obviously noticed the change and determined smile of her Pok¨¦mon but kept quiet about it. Over the whole silence, various emotions washed over her face, making it at least clear that she thought about Drampa. At least from the pained and sad expressions, Sabrina guessed. But what are the others supposed to mean? ¡±...let''s go back for now. Not that the others are slacking off right now.¡± ¡±Comfey!¡± ¡±Oh, you are going to beat them to a pulp if they do?¡± ¡±Com. Comfey.¡± ¡±Yeah, I can totally see you doing that. Your name will be fearfully engraved in history. Bow before the might of Comfey!¡± ¡±Com, Comfey!¡± ¡±Oh, so you want to learn Close Combat. As expected, such savagery.¡± ¡±Com! Com Comfey Com Com! Comfey!¡± ¡°Pfft, hahaha.¡± Outraged at her purposely mistranslating, Comfey began to pull on her hair. The little underaged Fairy Pok¨¦mon didn¡¯t do any harm and probably held back, as she wasn¡¯t pulled after Sabrina, even when her gait was aimed at a different direction than Comfey¡¯s pull. But she wonders a little. Comfey is pretty easy to understand. She can almost understand whole sentences behind it, while she even struggles with Bulbasaur to get his intent right. Not that she seems to have made any mistake until now. Vulpix is easy enough to understand; Oddish and Exeggcute communicated purposely with facial expression till no. Even though she can¡¯t glean otherwise in what they think. And then there was Abra. Abra was always curt, using gestures more than words. There was no way to mistake what he meant, but otherwise? Sabrina doesn¡¯t even understand his character, if he is very calculative, emotionally driven, or just having a sleepy face and being lazy. ¡±Comfey, would it be fine if I asked you something?¡± ¡±Com?¡± ¡±I don¡¯t really understand Abra. His face doesn¡¯t express anything, and he barely talks, mostly using easy-to-understand hand movements. Does he like something especially? Something I could use to get in a conversation with him. At least the flow of the conversation should bring some answers.¡± ¡±cooooo. Com! Com Comfeeeey!¡± ¡±Spicy? Or does he want to learn flamethrower?¡± An eye roll. Yeah, she probably means spicy berries. Interesting. Spicy is usually something in settings that is well liked by fire Pok¨¦mon. Well, I guess there is nothing wrong with it. At boarding school, there is the one guy who could eat anything with spicy sauce and spices. Or rather, it¡¯s rarer that he didn¡¯t add something to his dish. Still scary how he could empty the Tabasco sauce by at least half with only spaghettis. ¡±Ehm, Abra, would you have a moment?¡± ¡±A?¡± ¡±I heard from Comfey you like spiciness?¡± ¡±A? Ab Ab.¡± Slow and sure shaking of his head. So he doesn¡¯t. ¡±Comfey?¡± Sabrina slowly turns around, putting her ponytail forward. Instead of finding a Comfey howling it together, there is woven grass, similar to a mini rope. Turning around completely, she sees what looks like a tiny flower wreath weaving between the berry trees with what she now recognizes as Trailblaze to increase her speed. Curiously, branches and leaves seem to move slightly out of the way, but that makes it also predictable where she is going to fly. Shaking the thought away, she faces Abra again. When the Pok¨¦mon with Fey in the name isn¡¯t trustworthy, she can ask Abra himself. ¡±I wanted to know you better, so I asked her for things you¡¯re interested in. Would it be fine if you told me?¡± No use being insincere there. Especially since he can read minds. Oh, wait. He can read minds. Right. I have the feeling Abra just facepalmed, but that must be my imagination. ¡±Abra.¡± ¡±Oran Berries? Are you sure?¡± ¡±Abra.¡± He pointed at the distinct bushes near the actual trees. Sabrina remembers that it was written as acquired taste, but it¡¯s fine with her. It doesn¡¯t mean the taste is bad, just unused. But Surstr?mming is also said to be an ¡®acquired taste.¡¯. There even exist laws to forbid opening cans of them if it harasses other tenants of the House! 25. Think of a Title Later ¡°Here. Do you know what the others like?¡± ¡±Abra. Abra.¡± ¡±I can just give them that?¡± Abra just answers with a nod. But I have the feeling he said it because he knows I only have Oran Berry Taste. Well, let''s look into it. I should probably give Oddish and Exeggcute some and tell them to get a break. Afterwards, Vulpix. When I act as if I don¡¯t have the time since I still have to go to Bulbasaur and search Comfey, she won¡¯t argue too much and eat it behind my back. Probably. Then, looking at Bulbasaur¡¯s progress, considering he is my starter and I am pretty fond of him, I should spend some time with him. Afterwards, play tag with Comfey. When she gets tired, she will highly likely feel less mischievous. ¡±Oooooodiiiishh.¡± ¡±Going well?¡± ¡±Odd!¡± ¡±Here, a sweet snack. Rest for a bit when you need to and think about what you do. Maybe it will help you.¡± ¡±Odd? Od.¡± Sabrina leaves her with a head pat. This time, she really didn¡¯t understand her reaction. Normal, considering they don¡¯t speak the same language and are completely different creatures, but it still hurt her a bit. ¡±Eeeeeexeggg.¡± ¡±Looks like you can manifest some of the psychic power already.¡± ¡±Exegg!¡± ¡±A treat and take a break when you need. When you feel like something is missing, think about it carefully.¡± ¡±Ex Egg!¡± Felt similar to an ¡®Yes, ma¡¯am!¡¯, just less formal. Slowly but surely, she gets familiar with them. And he is making enough progress with the beam that one can at least see the flickering of the energy of the Psybeam. ¡±Vuuulpix.¡± ¡±Mmm, a bit brighter. Sunny Day will take a long time, but you are at least on the right path for it.¡± ¡±Vuu! Vulpix!¡± ¡±A Treat for you. Take a break when needed.¡± Shock, after which indignation follows. Sabrina knows she approaches from behind, but she isn¡¯t sneaking on them. If she would come from the front and they fire off some attack, it would be bad for her. Vulpix, meanwhile, can only watch Sabrina walk away like nothing happened, not Ben being able to argue. After having glared enough at her back, she resumes training. ¡±Bulbasaur!¡± ¡±Hey, I wanted to check on you. Is everything going fine?¡± ¡±Bulb Basaur.¡± ¡±Yes? Semi?¡± ¡±Bulba.¡± ¡±You don¡¯t manage to produce your projectile?¡±Unauthorized reproduction: this story has been taken without approval. Report sightings. Her Pok¨¦mon wordlessly pointed at the bulb on his back with his vines, before throwing them in front of them, imitating projectiles firing off. She still doesn¡¯t know if he tries to learn Razor Leaf or Leech Seed. ¡±Well, how does it look until now when you want to produce it?¡± ¡±Bul?¡± ¡±Huh?¡± Was that a ¡®What do you mean?¡¯? ¡±Well, to fire it off, you need to produce it first, right?¡± ¡±Bul!¡± Ah, he slapped himself with a vine. Didn¡¯t he think of it? At least he is now concentrated on training again. Ah, now, he gave me a grateful nod. ¡±I¡¯ll leave a snack here. Take it when you¡¯re hungry. I go take a look at Comfey.¡± Bulbasaur didn¡¯t answer back, but she was on her way anyway. Seeing how he renewed his focus, she won''t be going to break it just for that. Finding Comfey on the other hand proved to be a bit of a challenge. Naturally, she looked between the trees first, where she last saw her flee. The moved leaves and branches seem to be back in place, considering how there isn¡¯t an obvious path anymore. It was only by luck that she looked up for a moment and came face to face with a Comfey hiding between the leaves of the Nanab Tree. She discarded her flowers for now to be as unnoticeable as possible. Which would have been very effective, since Sabrina looked for Flowers as an indicator. ¡±Com!¡± ¡±I am surprised too, you know?¡± ¡±Comfeeeeyy.¡± ¡±Zoooom, I guess.¡± The little Pok¨¦mon quickly continued flying away in haste. This time without Trailblaze, probably too panicked. Sabrina runs after her at a modest speed. No need to amplify the fear by catching up. ¡±You know that I am not angry, right? I just wanted to find you. It¡¯s fine if you continue to run away if you feel insecure.¡± ¡±Com?¡± From the top of a tree, Comfey warily watches Sabrina. She feels that she didn¡¯t get lied to, but it also isn¡¯t the whole truth. Looking exceedingly cute, Sabrina must think of a hamster. Quickly deciding on how to continue the conversation, she pulls out the box and a treat from within. ¡±Want some?¡± ¡±Coommm.¡± (Stare) ¡±I know you were mostly fooling around. Probably to hide your insecurities. Besides the spicy prank. I think you sincerely wanted to make a joke on his expenses there.¡± Uncomfortable shifting at the insecurity part and averted gaze at the spicy prank. Sabrina understands that, since she prefers over-the-top reactions to vent when she is emotionally overloaded. Besides her looking outraged at such moments, she actually is filled with quite a bit of fear. She knows that the best, especially since she tends to get violent when being actually angry. ¡°I guess I am a bit unused to everything? I don¡¯t know what I think of you. You appear to be the most human, closely with Vulpix. But I really can¡¯t say if I am reflecting myself and superficial clich¨¦s on you or if I am just lacking. It¡¯s hard. I want to respect you as your own individual, but at the same time, you are someone who is supposed to fight for me, and I take care of you, like a pet. Neither is wrong, but not one of them feels right either. Sometimes, I wonder what Bond means. It¡¯s probably easy for both to feel as if they fight to live. Both then have a place and a role they are supposed to play. But here? Who are you? Who am I?¡± ¡±Com!¡± ¡±Ouch!¡± Comfey intently listened to what Sabrina had to say at first, but as she got more sentimental, she just stared blankly at her. Her gaze was a prime example of ¡®What are you talking about?¡¯. As Sabrina began to get philosophical, Comfey began to hit her with a Vine Whip. The message was obvious. Your concern is nice, but that¡¯s just bullshit. ¡±Hey, I have a serious concern! I agree that maybe getting philosophical wouldn¡¯t yield any result, as the questions aren¡¯t really practical, but concern still stands!¡± ¡±Com.¡± Sabrina would swear that Comfey would have given her a shrug if she had shoulders. ¡±Fine. We are going to find it out with time. How does that sound?¡± ¡±Comfey.¡± Quite happily, she seems to agree. Swiftly, she takes her place as hair tie again, having gotten her flowers from somewhere again. Seeing how satisfied she looks, Sabrina feels bamboozled but can¡¯t pinpoint why. ¡±Well, when you are happy like that, then I guess you don¡¯t need any treat.¡± She says as she packs the box again. It¡¯s petty behavior to do that just because of a feeling, but that¡¯s just how it is. When she truly wants to be friends with someone, then she isn¡¯t going to play pretend. ¡±Com! Com Comfey!¡± ¡±Fine! So demanding!¡± ¡±Com!¡± With light claps on her back, carefully held back to not even hurt, Sabrina walks back outside the tree. Feeling a bit lighter, she looks refreshed into the sky. Just in time as the light gets more intense and she is a bit blinded. Yep, Vulpix Sunny Day training is doing great. 26. Snoozing around Noon ¡°Is somebody tired?¡± Sabrina is going around asking that. Vulpix, Abra and Bulbasaur seem to be fine. Exeggcute still holds strong, but he will begin to tire out sooner or later. Oddish is sleepy, same as Comfey. She is a bit conflicted since Nurse Joy said something about treating them like adults already, but maybe they are just too unused to it or something. Luckily, Sabrina is somehow used to taking a nap at noon, following her grandmother¡¯s example when they visit. Even though she doesn¡¯t know if that makes any difference. ¡±Let¡¯s go inside for now.¡± Saying so softly, Sabrina begins to question it now. She noticed it previously, obviously, but brushed it off with the excuse of dealing with it later. Her voice is oddly harmonic, reminding her of a musical instrument. When she talks normally, the effect isn¡¯t obvious, but when she is careful or emotionally loaded, it becomes more obvious. Not that it is a bad thing. First impressions are important, so is a polite greeting. And when making sarcastic, snide remarks or scolding someone, it would have a greater impact. But she doesn¡¯t get why it is like that. ¡°Stupid question to ask, but no one wants tea or hot milk, right?¡± ¡±Com Com.¡± ¡°Odd.¡± Comfey shakes her head, or whole body, while Oddish seems to want some. ¡±Tea or milk?¡± She is moving her head so that the leaves point at my tea. I guess that''s obvious. ¡±Tea? That¡¯s mixed fruit. Is that fine with you? There is also chamomile and thyme.¡± My favourite is mixed fruit; chamomile and thyme are more for their medicinal use, for which I am indebted to. Aching throats and similar are always a pain to deal with. ¡±Odd.¡± A nod, so I guess it¡¯s fine. Oddish can¡¯t really drink from a teacup, so I use the drinking bowl. Let¡¯s see, I bought six bowls each, hoping I get a full team. Charmander, Squirtle, Bulbasaur, Growlithe, Eevee and Pikachu-themed ones, color only, no face. Bulbasaur is for Bulbasaur. I would also choose what would fit the others, but I should let them make the choice themselves. ¡±Oddish, which one would you like? Comfey, you too.¡± ¡±Odd. Oddish.¡± ¡°Comfey.¡± Oddish takes the Eevee and Comfey the Pikachu-themed ones. I should probably go around and ask the others, but I already choose to nap. Nothing I can do about it. ¡±Here you go. In three more Minutes, we can take out the Tea Bag. Three more Minutes more then that, and the Tea begins to taste bad. For now, I let it be in the cup, since it will cool down fast when in the water bowl.¡± ¡±Coomm.¡± ¡°Odd?¡± ¡°I know we wanted to nap, and we will, but when we take the luxury to do so midday, then let¡¯s make it enjoyable.¡±This narrative has been purloined without the author''s approval. Report any appearances on Amazon. ¡±Com. Com Comfey?¡± ¡±No problem. There is still enough hot water left. On that note, anyone Honey? There is also sugar, but I wouldn¡¯t recommend it since it wouldn¡¯t properly mix in the water and settle at the bottom.¡± ¡±Com!¡±¡±Odd.¡± ¡±Heee, Oddish, you are a rather calm kid, aren¡¯t you? You don¡¯t express your emotions as strongly as others, while still showing them.¡± ¡±Odd?¡± ¡±Yeah. But you still show your point if you have to, do you?¡± ¡±Odd?¡± ¡°Com, Com Com Com, Coomfeeeyy.¡± ¡±Hmm, can it be that you want to learn Hyper Voice?¡± Sabrina, thinking she understood what Comfey said, began to tease Oddish. Indeed, Oddish began to behave embarrassed, covering his face with the leaves growing on his head. From her understanding, when Oddish doesn¡¯t get a turn to talk, she will loudly cry out and throw a tantrum. ¡±Good to know. Your tea is ready.¡± After mixing it properly with honey, Oddish¡¯s Bowl was filled with tea. Comfey¡¯s also won¡¯t let itself wait too long. Sabrina, meanwhile, snatched a book. She brought the water heater with her to the lounge, filled with water and tea bags. For Honey and additional cups, she had to go to the kitchen again, but that was fine. The book is very tiny, having a square form. It¡¯s like the cheap children''s picture books with extremely short stories one sees sometimes in bookstores. Not properly shelved but thrown in some kind of container with a price sign on a stick fixated on the container. Only its title is remarkable, as even the cover is only white, otherwise. ¡°How Move Energy Affects the Surroundings and Humans.¡± The actual content is simple. Pok¨¦mon look only bruised after a fight because of the energy. Berries can heal because of the energy. People don¡¯t instantly die when hit, depending on the user and move, because of the energy. Poison, paralysis, spores, etc., will not be deadly in most cases because of that. Humans can get more easily stronger and develop abilities of their own, in a way, and increase their resistance to moves. They won¡¯t be able to learn moves but will interact with their surroundings in abnormal ways. Like mind reading or telekinesis. Lastly, kind of a status board for me. Melodic Performance, CQC Affinity, and Nature Bond stand there. Not the actual effect or something, but there is a note of Arceus that he gave the names. And whatever the things mean to me, too. I don¡¯t understand, but I think I understand. For example, my voice sounds as it does partly because of Melodic Performance. CQC Affinity is probably related to fighting, but I don¡¯t really know how. Nature Bond probably does have an effect on my Grass Pok¨¦mon or farm, maybe both. I really wonder what the Space Llama thought when he did something like that. ¡±Comfey, yours is ready too.¡± Bad, I nearly forgot. Wait, but me lying my way through doesn¡¯t seem to connect to any of them. Maybe Melodic Performance, seeing as it has performance in the name? ¡±Oddish, does it taste good?¡± ¡±Odd.¡± ¡±Hmm. Then let¡¯s go to sleep.¡± ¡±Odd.¡± ¡°Com?¡± ¡±Relax, we won¡¯t be able to fall asleep instantly.¡± ¡±Cool.¡± She likes the tea, huh? Sweet Dreams. Before she notices, Sabrina has already fallen asleep, lying down on the couch. Comfey and Oddish are a bit dumbfounded, seeing her already snoozing away. Both look at the same time at her face, seeing it peaceful and calm. Also, both let in sync a sigh of relief, having not to endure snoring. Oddish slurped a bit of tea before plopping down on the couch, lying down next to her Sabrina¡¯s stomach. She leans back and falls asleep. Only Comfey feels uncomfortable, not feeling sleepy anymore. Comfey has childlike, bottomless energy, so it was more of a mental fatigue than anything else. Now being inside the house, with the door closed, she doesn¡¯t have much to do. Even worse, Hallway, Lounge and Kitchen are anywhere she can go, but when she makes a sound, she could wake up others. Being a good kid at heart, she doesn¡¯t want to do that, so she slowly began to braid Sabrina¡¯s hair, careful to not wake her up. It¡¯s surprisingly fun, having it only done with Drampa¡¯s Eyebrows before, which are comparatively stiff. She began to braid hair because Drampa said one time that one of the companies used to braid it all the time. He also teaches her from what he knew, pointed out things he thought were wrong, and together they did things by trial and error. As she reminisced, she fell asleep before she noticed, even having braided herself partly in her hair because she was careless. Oddish will wake up with a tiny cry of pain by Sabrina and surprised, panicked shouting by Comfey.
