《Game to Start》 Chapter 1 - Windsong Academy The heavy luggage that kept dragging down her steps was finally put down. She breathed a relief sigh as she quietly gazed down at the massive building before her. The eight-storey building was wide and old and was long erected aeons ago. The architecture was ancient, even the walls were greyed by time. The surrounding area was surrounded by a huge garden where thousands of plant species were gathered from all around the world. The big lake stretched from left to right like a river. Fountains with sprouting waters dancing in the air. She couldn¡¯t help but feel enamoured by it. ¡°So beautiful.¡± In the past, she wouldn¡¯t believe she had the chance to study here. However, thanks to her master¡¯s friend, she transverse through the sea and land to reach a foreign country where this school was located, the Holy Empire of Grand Meadow. But, unfortunately¡ Due to certain circumstances, she missed the opening day. This was bad news for her. ¡°I hope I¡¯m not too late¡¡± The soft feminine voice was then letting out a heavy huff as she continued to drag her big suitcase back. She moved forward once again as she needed to clear out the final hindrance first. **** ¡°So, you accidentally missed the registration days because the ship you boarded was sent to an unknown island?¡± An old man, who looked like he was reaching his 80s, was staring sternly at her. ¡°That¡¯s very unfortunate for you.¡± His dark purple robe mostly covered up his figure, the fairly long silvery beard hanging on his face and his wrinkled hand reaching out a piece of paper. ¡°However, since you came here under the recommendation of Madame Constance, I already see that you already cleared most of the school tests.¡± His skinny fingers combed his long beard. ¡°And your name is?¡± ¡°Echo. Just Echo.¡± The girl finally introduces herself properly. Her dark maroon long and wavy hair looked so unkempt, even though she already tried to tidy them before entering the headmaster¡¯s room. Her black dress was simple, as she wasn¡¯t coming from a well-off background. The old man gave her one last look. The semester had already started for two weeks. The girl in front of him probably missed out on a lot of things as a new student. However, it wouldn¡¯t be bad to give the girl a chance. Especially when Madame Constance sent her all the way from a far country. ¡°So, Miss Echo. Welcome to the Windsong Academy.¡± The Headmaster welcomed the last student of the current year. ¡°May the Asta¡¯s divine light bequeathed you all her blessings.¡± **** Echo kept spinning the piece of paper she held. She tried to read it. When she left the Headmaster''s office earlier, an academy staff handed her a few things. She hadn¡¯t checked out all of them yet but she found the academy map among the things she had right now. The staff told her to go to her designated dorm, Midwood Manor. Yes, she perfectly saw Midwood Manor on the map, however trying to navigate there was a challenge of its own. ¡°Why is this academy so big?¡± Echo surveyed her surrounding area. Based on the map, she was probably on one of the pathways leading to places but she didn¡¯t exactly know where she was right now. All she saw were domineering trees and some small buildings she didn¡¯t even recognise. Even the academy area itself was isolated from the rest of the country. She had to take a horse carriage and go through a teleportation portal just to reach the main entrance. This book was originally published on Royal Road. Check it out there for the real experience. Windsong Academy was a renowned education center, where their students came from inside and outside of the country. Even the nobilities and royalties went into this academy. There were multiple ways to become a student of Windsong Academy. A standard route where candidates took the tests at the academy ground. Recommendations from the professors from outside of the academy. And lastly, through the VIP route. So the academy welcomed various types of students here. That being said, Echo saw a group of female students gathering in one place. And they were noisy about something. ¡°He¡¯s here! Is he taking a short stroll right now?¡± ¡°I didn¡¯t expect to meet him here. Is this the sign of my luck today?¡± They were talking about someone. This made Echo curious. She tried to join the mass and took a peek at whatever they were gushing about. Then she saw what she assumed to be the centre of attention right now. A tall man with shining silver hair. A beautiful handsome face like no other. His gestures were so graceful like the clean stroke of water. When he noticed the girls were staring at him, he gave them a wave and a sweet smile painted on his face. The gesture gave the girls an elated glee when he acknowledged their presence. But, Echo understood what the hype was. If people said that he was an angel, she would believe it right away. The aura he emanated was like a pure light descending from the sky. ¡°He must be someone famous around here,¡± Echo muttered to herself. Since she was a foreigner who just come to this land, Echo was entirely unfamiliar with everything here. She looked back at her map. There was something more important that needed to be done. ¡°He looked at us! Should I go talk to him?¡± One of the girls talked to her friend while giggling. Her friend quickly replied in excitement, ¡°You¡¯re sure about that?¡± ¡°Hello¡..¡± Echo soft voice tried to call the girls. ¡°Now please accompany me¨C¡± The girl grabbed her friend''s arm and tried to grab her along. However, her friend refused to move forward. ¡°Ehh~ Do it yourself!¡± ¡°Hello!¡± Echo voice went even higher. She almost screamed out her throat. Even then she tried to keep it not so high so as not to attract everyone there. And luckily it worked. The two girls from earlier finally noticed Echo. ¡°......Uh?¡± The excited girl was confused looking at Echo. A kind of gloomy girl who didn¡¯t even wear her school uniform suddenly reached out to them. Echo continued on. ¡°I want to ask this¡¡± She showed the two girls the map. ¡°I want to go to Midwood Manor. But I kind of lost¡¡± An apologetic smile accompanied her face. The two girls stared at her. ¡°Oh¡¡± One of them responded first by observing the map Echo had shown. ¡°Midwood Manor ... .It is the one that is pretty far from here right?¡± She was eyeing her other friend. ¡°Probably right. I never go anywhere near there. I think¡¡± The other girl pointed at the map. ¡°You have to take this road here¡Go far to the left. Oh, I think you have to cross the small river here. I heard that the place is surrounded by a pretty gloomy forest.¡± Her eyebrows frowned like she was imagining something scary. This sounded like going to be a long road for Echo. But well, at least, she finally pinpointed her current location. ¡°Thank you for¨C¡± ¡°Wait, did that girl just come out to him?¡± ¡°Huh, what? Urghh, her again?!¡± The girls¡¯ attention immediately went back to their subject of adornment earlier. Echo didn¡¯t even get her to say her thanks. Those girls already ran off to the centre of the crowd. Echo was stunned a little. But it was not a problem for her. Due to the gloomy aura she exuded, like a vague and dull colour, people rarely paid so much attention to her. Even when she caught people''s attention, it was usually not a good sign for her. ¡°Haa¡.¡± She sighed in low spirit. It was not a time to reminisce. She picked up her heavy suitcase again and made her way out from the crowd. Chapter 2 - Midwood Manor The girl earlier was right. This place was surrounded by somehow¡ gloomy forest. Echo stood in front of a big gate. The big entrance was connected by a high metal fence that surrounded everything it could cover. The trees were¡ kind of dead, with barely withering leaves still stuck on the branches. And the crows were also here. The caws could be heard quite loudly. But still, there was no building that looked anything like a dorm. Echo was quite tired at this point. ¡°Do I have to continue to walk more?¡± She was not physically weak or anything. However, since she was navigating here for the first time, she was bound to get lost and have to walk around. Now, she regretted not arriving earlier. ¡°It¡¯s okay, Echo. Walking this much doesn¡¯t matter.¡± Echo tried to lift her spirit by herself. ¡°You used to climb and walk down mountains before this. You used to run away from a scary beast. You used to swim against the river current¡¡± ¡°Hello?¡± ¡°Eekk!¡± A girl''s voice suddenly barged in and sent a jolt to Echo. She quickly looked at her back in shock and saw a girl around her size looking at her. Her bob-brown hair was cut around her chin, and she was wearing what she assumed was a uniform with an extra black robe. The girl asked her again. ¡°Hello. What are you doing here?¡± There was a curiosity in her eyes. Echo quickly put down her suitcase. ¡°I¡¯m trying to find Midwood Manor.¡± She glanced at the forest behind her and looked back at the girl. ¡°Are you from here?¡± The dazed look on that girl''s face quickly changed into a bright smile. ¡°Oh, you¡¯re on your way to Midwood Manor? How lucky, I live there! Are you probably¡¡± She observed Echo. ¡°A new student?¡± ¡°Yes,¡± Echo admitted right away. The girl immediately clapped her hands. ¡°Really? I thought we were already done with new student entrances this year!¡± ¡°I arrived late actually. Due to¡some unfortunate accidents.¡± The short-haired girl walked close to Echo. ¡°That¡¯s unfortunate. But never mind. I¡¯ll show you around here. Come follow me.¡± The girl waved her hand and asked Echo to follow her. Her voice singing in excitement. As if her mother had just given birth to her new little sibling. Echo didn¡¯t speak more. She followed the girl into the gloomy forest. The stone pavement was cracked yet still good enough to walk around on. Street lamps also stood along the road, which lit the way at night. But due to the surrounding forest, it would definitely look scary. ¡°So what¡¯s your name?¡± ¡°Echo. Just Echo.¡± ¡°Oh hello, Echo. That¡¯s a unique name. My name is Esme. A third year here.¡± Esme introduced herself as they walked on the path slowly. ¡°Are you familiar with this school?¡± ¡°No. I come from a faraway land.¡± Esme turned her head to Echo. ¡°Oh? So you¡¯re a foreigner. Hmm¡¡± She surveyed Echo carefully. The dress that Echo wore, although plain, didn¡¯t look like something a local would wear. ¡°You do look like that. Are you here based on recommendation?¡± ¡°Yes. From Madame Constance.¡± Esme¡¯s face brightened up even brighter. ¡°Madame Constance?¡± ¡°You know her?¡± ¡°Yes, she is very famous here. Notable for her magic research. She is an outstanding witch.¡± ¡°....Witch.¡± Esme looked back to the front. ¡°Are you a witch?¡± ¡°Yes.¡± ¡°Hehehe, me as well.¡± Esme giggled quietly. ¡°The moment you are sent here, already shows who you are.¡± Echo gazed at Esme¡¯s back head. The weird feeling shrouded her heart. ¡°So there are other people like me somewhere in the dorm?¡± It was an unusual situation for her. This story is posted elsewhere by the author. Help them out by reading the authentic version. ¡°Hehe, I¡¯ll introduce you to our sisters when we arrive there.¡± The word made Echo curious. ¡°Sisters?¡± ¡°Yes. The sisters of us witches. We have a witch coven here.¡± Esme briefly explained the true nature of Midwood Manor. ¡°Don¡¯t worry. When we reach there, I¡¯ll introduce you to this academy. This is my duty as your oldest senior.¡± ¡°Okay.¡± Echo didn¡¯t consult more. Like Esme had said, she simply followed her until they reached the dorm. She lifted her chin and faced the sky. It looked gloomy here, very different from the bright sky at the other part of the academy ground. However, she didn¡¯t feel isolated or displaced. Since it looked the same as the western forest at her home, which she frequented a lot with her master. **** ¡°So¡..¡± Esme was standing between Echo and a few other girls. Not a lot in number, just seven of them only. It was quite a small number for a place as big as this dorm. ¡°Let me introduce her.¡± Esme gestured at Echo while facing the rest of the girls. ¡°This is Echo. She is new here. Supposed to come earlier with everyone else.¡± Echo observed the people gathering in front of her. They were all wearing the same uniform as Esme as well. A cedar-coloured dress that reached the knee. Some of them also wore the same black robe as Esme. ¡°Hello, I¡¯m Echo. Nice to meet all of you.¡± She barely hid the nervousness inside the voice. ¡°Hi, there! I¡¯m Bethe. The same year as Esme. There is also Morgana but she isn¡¯t here right now. We are the only last years here. You can consult me if you want to ask anything about this school. About this country even. I¡¯m the most knowledgeable you know.¡± The tall girl with hair reached her waist and approached Echo. The aura of friendliness seeped from her as she took Echo¡¯s hand and shook it. Bethe then turned to her fellow dorm mates. She pointed at them one by one. ¡°The ones here are your fellow first years, Ursa, Marigold and Azula. Then¡ The second year, Jade and Denise. There is also Fortuna as well but she also isn¡¯t here.¡± In response, the girls said hello in their way. Some of them were high-spirited and there were low voices as well. Echo saw that they all have multiple different personalities. So she made a notice in her mind to acquaint with them properly later. BANGG!!! The loud banging door surprised everyone there. Each head turned to see the source. ¡°Everyoneeee, I have news here.¡± A redhead woman with glasses suddenly rushed in. ¡°We have a new¡Uh?¡± Her eyes stopped at the unfamiliar face in front of her. It took her a few seconds to sink in. ¡°Oh, I see. So you¡¯re already here.¡± Her eyes then followed up on the rest of the girls. ¡°And I can see you are all acquainted?¡± Esme barged in and raised her hand. ¡°I met her in front of the gate.¡± ¡°All right then. Thank you for your assistance.¡± The lady finally got the whole thing. ¡°I¡¯ll introduce myself. I¡¯m Miss Rowan. The warden of Midwood Manor. You are the new student who just arrived right? I rushed here after the Headmaster informed me.¡± ¡°Hello, Miss Rowan. I¡¯m Echo.¡± She introduced herself for the nth time today. ¡°Okay, girl. You arrived quite late here so I¡¯ll brief you quickly but clearly.¡± Rowan clapped her hands as she looked at the rest of the girls. ¡°Okay, girls. Please continue whatever you need to do today. I¡¯ll take over from here. She needs to catch up with everything.¡± ¡°Okay!¡± The girls responded and dispersed away. One by one leaving the main hall. Esme tapped Echo¡¯s shoulder and winked. ¡°We will have a party for you later.¡± The senior girl then walked away and went upstairs. Now only two of them were left in the large space. Echo turned to Rowan after everyone left. ¡°Okay, follow me. I¡¯ll show you the room.¡± The student dorm was medium in size, with a classical design carved all over the building. There were three floors together, with a large hall at the main door. The large spiralling staircase was connected from the main hall to the second floor. Echo followed Rowan to the third floor and headed to the room on the right wing. ¡°I just notified about you arriving here just now. So, I have to rush the preparation.¡± She stopped at the wooden door and opened it. ¡°This is your room.¡± Echo went inside to see the room. The room was medium size with a small living room in the front. Then she saw two connected open rooms and a hallway. ¡°This is supposed to be shared by two students here. But unfortunately, you have to be a little~ alone this year. I hope you won''t mind.¡± Each open room was decorated with a bed and some furniture. And a window that led to outside. ¡°You can choose which bed you want. It¡¯s a little dusty so you need to clean a little more~. But I assure you everything here is in the right condition to use. After all, not many students used this dorm.¡± Echo became curious. ¡°Are there other dorms, Miss Rowan?¡± ¡°There are five others. Each is quite different from the other, based on what groups of students live there. If you have a chance, maybe you can visit them. Midwood Manor accepted students that practised magic that are different from the rest.¡± Echo¡¯s mind spoke to herself. ¡®So it is not a familiar thing here as well.¡¯ ¡°Before you came here, the staff gave you some things, right?¡± Echo nodded in response. ¡°There is supposed to be your class schedule in there. Along with some academy notes. I recommend you just stick with the rest of the first years here. They will show you around. Although they are probably still not familiar with this place yet. This is a very large school ground after all.¡± ¡°It¡¯s okay. I learn quite fast.¡± ¡°I¡¯m glad. Tonight I¡¯ll bring you your uniform. For now, just clean your things here and rest up for a bit. I¡¯m pretty sure the other girls are probably already heading to their classes.¡± ¡°I will. Thank you, Miss Rowan.¡± The older lady nodded in acceptance. ¡°Sure. Now as a warden, I¡¯ll officially welcome you to the Midwood Manor. Welcome to the house, young witch.¡± Chapter 3 - The Lunar Sisters CHAPTER 3 - The Lunar Sisters ¡°Hold your hands like this.¡± She followed that gentle voice. She held up her tiny hands and held them together as if she wanted to collect the raindroplets. Her small face shone with curiosity. The gentle woman''s voice spoke once again, ¡°Now focus on the middle of your hands, imagine there is a light flying in.¡± That small girl immediately imagined it. Her eyes were completely locked into her hands. In her mind, she saw that a light appeared in her hands. When the mind''s vision became clearer, empty hands welcomed some tiny lights that came lying in. A smile burst on her face. ¡°Oh, look. You¡¯ve succeeded.¡± That gentle voice became elated. ¡°Now, inhale through your mouth. Imagine you are inhaling a sweet jelly into your mouth.¡± The girl once again followed the instructions. She swallowed the air as if she was eating tasty jelly from a big bowl. ¡°Good. Now blow it slowly. Like a soft breeze smothered your body.¡± The little girl blew the light softly. When the air hit the grouping lights, the light dispersed into smaller lights like fireflies floating in the air. The small lights expanded into the air and shone in the dark forest. ************ When Echo opened her eyes, she was welcomed by the darkness. Her hazy mind immediately faded away and finally pulled her back to reality. Her hand pushed the soft mattress and raised her body. She gently rubbed her eyes. ¡°I¡¯m not at Masters¡¯...¡± She observed the dark room all around her. It was already night when she woke up. ¡°I must have accidentally fallen asleep.¡± She remembered she was tidying her and cleaning her new room. Her tired body became heavy so she decided to lie down for a while. Now what it looked like as ¡®a while¡¯ was actually extended until night. She jumped from her bed and walked to the window. When she peered outside, she saw the dark sky illuminated by the stars and a moon. Although she was far away from her home, the sky was still the same everywhere. The loneliness that weighed her heart went away for a little. She held up her hands, just like she did in her dream earlier. Lights gathered together forming a ball in her hands. As she blew the lights away, the darkness in front of her instantly became more beautiful with tiny lights floating around. A tiny smile curved in her mouth. As she was savouring the tranquil view, she heard a loud grandfather clock¡¯s bell echoing loudly from inside the building. ¡°It is already 12 o''clock?¡± Echo retracted herself from the window. She reached for the lamp on the nearest table and cupped the top of the candle with her hands. It was indeed magic, when she opened up her hands, the flame already lit up. In turn, the room was partially illuminated. This story has been taken without authorization. Report any sightings. The bell still echoed non-stop. Echo walked to the door and peeked outside. Her eyes met with the barely lit and quiet hallway. There was no one there. However, she was sure the feeling was right. It felt like the bell sound was summoning her to where it came from. Her interest grew and she decided just to follow the sound. She walked through the hallway and followed all the way to the ground floor. When she walked down the spiral stairs at the main hall, the bells became louder and clearer. She was sure she had come to the right path. Her head kept turning only to see the lifeless surroundings. No one was there. And the bell rang for a considerably long time. ¡°Is there no one here?¡± She whispered to the quiet hall. Echo searched for the source. Her eyes fell on the double door located at the back of the hall. She was sure it came from there. She pushed the big doors slowly and met with candles that lit the hallway. She stepped onto the path carefully. Further down, the space became brighter until she found a room full of candles. She paused. ¡°Uhh, what are we doing here?¡± Echo looked at the multiple-robed figures with their hoods on. They were gathered together in the circle with a candle in each hand. In that room, Echo found the grandfather clock that had been ringing since a while ago. One of them finally spoke, ¡°At midnight, we all gathered.¡± ¡°When the clock finger touched the middle top,¡± another voice followed suit. ¡°In the dark sky, the moon is hanging, alluring the lives underneath.¡± ¡°As life slumbers, the sisters chuckle in amusement.¡± ¡°As life falls silent, the coven converges under the moonlight.¡± The voice continued from one another. And then fell into silence once again. ¡°Please go to the middle.¡± One of them instructed Echo to move into the circle. Echo just obeyed and placed herself in front of everybody. ¡°Now, we will start our coven oath.¡± A familiar voice spoke out. ¡°Our new sister, please hold up your hand.¡± Echo put out her hands like she did in her room earlier. When she did that, the other robed figures also held up their hands all together. The light appeared on their hands and floated to the ceiling. ¡°O, Moonlight. Guide our new sister to the secrets behind your door.¡± The light fell into Echo¡¯s hand and then exploded. She impulsively closed her eyes with the sudden brightness. The bell had stopped ringing. The room suddenly brightened up. When she opened her eyes again, she saw a moon brooch in her hand. ¡°Now, now. Let¡¯s welcome our new member, sisters.¡± The girl earlier removed her hood and revealed her short bob hair. The other also copied the gesture and revealed the familiar faces from the day earlier. ¡°Is that a welcoming ritual?¡± Echo asked her. The other oldest girl, Bethe joined in, ¡°Yes. Now you are a part of our witch coven, The Lunar Sisters. Let¡¯s get along with each other from now on.¡± Echo looked at Bethe and changed her focus to the brooch she got. She stared at the moon-shaped ornament. ¡°You can put that on your robe,¡± said Morgana as she pointed the same brooch on her dress. The unfamiliar feeling burst out from the hidden corner of Echo¡¯s heart. It was like the still water in the isolated pool broke through the fortress, flowing into the river. A clap pulled Echo back into the room. ¡°Now, let¡¯s welcome our new student.¡± Rowan was also here. ¡°Here is everyone¡¯s gift to you.¡± She gave one big clap and something glittering appeared in the air. The sparkle came to hug Echo and shiny light covered her. In a flash, Echo changed from her old dress to the cedar-coloured uniform like everyone else. The bright smile burned in excitement as Echo twirled around in her new dress. Rowan¡¯s motherly smile praised Echo. ¡°It looks good on you.¡± ¡°Thank you.¡± The tiredness from her journey suddenly disappeared like thin air. The excitement from earlier had come to grow even more. She couldn¡¯t wait for more new encounters. Finally, she felt her long, arduous journey felt more worthwhile. Chapter 4 - Fortuna ¡°So where are you coming from?¡± Echo looked on her side. She saw a very tall girl sitting right beside her. After the oath ritual was finished, Rowan prepared a feast for celebration. Eating after midnight¡ the dorm warden was surprisingly lenient. Right now Echo was stuffing a mushroom and meat pie into her mouth. She was taking a moment before answering the question. After she emptied her mouth, she quickly answered, ¡°From the far north of this country, goes by many names. But people here called it, Zarasa Fallen Empire.¡± The tall girl¡¯s eyes widened for a moment before it returned to normal. ¡°That¡¯s an interesting homeland you got there. If you don¡¯t mind, please share some stories with me.¡± She smiled gently. ¡°Sure.¡± Echo didn¡¯t mind about it. Although she knew her homeland wasn¡¯t famous for great things. But as someone who was born there, it was just a normal home, just like everyone else in this world. ¡°Oh, right!¡± She suddenly clapped her hand once. ¡°I forgot to introduce myself. Since I went to the main city earlier, we haven¡¯t seen each other yet. My name is Fortuna. Nice to meet you, dear little sister.¡± ¡°Hello, Fortuna.¡± Echo stopped herself from introducing her name once again. She was pretty sure everyone here already knew her name at this point. ¡°Nice to meet you too.¡± ¡°What¡¯s your speciality, Echo? You must be good to receive a recommendation from a professor.¡± Echo sipped a sweet fruit juice from her mug. She couldn¡¯t recognise what fruit was used in it at all but it was tasty and fitted right to her throat. ¡°Potions. My master taught a lot about potions.¡± ¡°I see~ That¡¯s great. Many people think potion-making is easy since it is just a mixing process. But I have some experience in it and could tell it wasn¡¯t easy at all.¡± Fortuna suddenly reached for a slice of orange-looking cake and pushed it in front of Echo. ¡°Here, eat this. This is a local famous delicacy.¡± ¡°Thank you.¡± Echo picked up her fork and dug the cake. When she put it into her mouth, she tasted a tangy and sweet flavour. The taste was unique for Echo, as she usually ate something hot and spicy before coming here. ¡°It¡¯s quite tasty.¡±If you come across this story on Amazon, it''s taken without permission from the author. Report it. ¡°Really? They sell this a lot during important celebrations. You can even find the variants of this.¡± Fortuna sipped her drink. After she put down the mug, her right hand suddenly swiped some balls. ¡°As for my speciality¡ I am well-adverse in fortune telling. Are you interested?¡± Fortuna placed the balls on the table. The tiny balls were like gum jelly, shiny and transparent with orange in colour. Echo had never seen this type of fortune-telling before. ¡°Yes.¡± Echo had never felt such a strong curious feeling before. A smirk curved on Fortuna¡¯s lips. Her index finger then tapped the table twice. In a flash, the coloured balls floated and emitted a soft light on the surface. ¡°Here. Try to touch it.¡± Echo accepted her invitation. Her hand reached out to the floating balls and tried to touch them. Just a mere contact, the shining spheres emitted even stronger light, making Echo put on her guard. The balls disappeared with the poof like a fairy sparkle, only three balls were left behind. ¡°Let¡¯s see what your fate looks like.¡± Fortuna summoned the remaining balls into her hands. ¡°Ready?¡± She looked at Echo for her confirmation. Echo nodded in her consent. Fortuna smiled in excitement. Her index finger touched the first ball. Then, it floated a little higher and popped. A pair of white-feathered birds flew out and disappeared into the thin air. ¡°Ah~ I see. It looks like you will meet your soulmate soon.¡± Echo tilted her head. ¡°Soulmate?¡± ¡°The one that knows and understands what¡¯s hidden in your heart.¡± Echo¡¯s heart was beating strongly like an earthquake. The mixed feelings of uneasiness, curiosity and excitement suddenly came to wash over her like a tsunami. She didn¡¯t know whether to be elated with the news or not. ¡°Now, let¡¯s continue to the next one.¡± Fortuna¡¯s finger touched the second ball. Once again, the ball floated and exploded. This time, a mist expanded from inside the ball. A frown appeared on Fortune¡¯s face. ¡°I see¡So you will face the uncertainties in your relationships. You probably don¡¯t know whether they are your friends, a family, a lover or foe. Probably more than one.¡± Echo¡¯s heart skipped a beat when she heard those words. But she couldn¡¯t care less about something she hadn¡¯t met yet. It was something for future her, to worry about. ¡°And the third one¡¡± The last ball released some broken mirror shards which disintegrated into silver particles and disappeared. ¡°Hmmm, there are some pieces of truth that you must gather. Until then you will see the light.¡± Echo silently swallowed Fortuna¡¯s words without many questions. As curious as she was, it was not something happened yet. And for that, she decided not to press it further. ¡°Is your divination accurate, Fortuna?¡± ¡°Hmmm¡¡± The older girl scratched her chin. Her eyes went around the room for a moment before settling back on the younger girl sitting beside her. ¡°Well, nothing can come as ¡®accurate¡¯, but you can say that it will be fairly ¡®reliable¡¯.¡± She winked at her junior, reassuring her that she indeed was not a troll.
