So, I didn’t only mess up in the height coordinates, I also didn’t iron out the timeline. But this worked out in our favor. We left to retrieve Yzs in late March but we returned begin February that same year. A bit of time travel there.


    The Mainfloor was still in a mess. I also had to address the fact that there currently was a paradox as the country was both gone and present in February. I had to go through 5 rounds of [Elgards Overload] to fix this. It was currently late March again. It did remind me of my overpowered teleport which I named [Paradox Teleport].


    I’m soo exhausted!


    Then go to sleep!


    But I want to go with you guys!


    You will just be bored and Raishin seems to have arranged something for you. Did you leave a small spot unstitched around Yzs?

    Do you really think that patch of ‘nothing’ is the key to finding out how to do your role?


    I think so. Raishin and I could learn something from it. The thing Raishin had arranged for you sounds quite interesting hehe, it starts in 2 weeks! We want to do some training together before we leave the day after tomorrow though. I will wake you up, now go sleep.

    Greg left and I looked at Nilah who was curled up next to me.  Just us two now. Hey did you fall asleep without me!?


    Nilah had betrayed me and already fallen asleep. I decided to do the same.


    More nightmares, the fairy nightmare and someone dying right before my eyes. Those two dreams played off the most but the one with Hablena in it seemed the most vivid and real. Is this event nearing or does this mean something else?

    Greg woke me up and we went to the AA to practice.


    It was busy as always. Greg had rented a private duel space. The Obsidian Prince was very popular under the women so he had to. Raishin and I grinned.


    What are you idiots grinning at?


    Oh nothing!

    “It has been a while since I’ve been in one of these simulation rooms!” Elliana spun around and let greenery grow.


    So uhh what is the plan? Do we just beat eachother up? I don’t want to fight any of you, fighting you is unfair. I can however beat up Elliana!  Raishin pointed at Elliana.


    “I actually wanted to teach Agnis how to use a bow ore more accurately… how to shoot arrows.”


    You want him to increase the amount of pain in the ass skills he has? I’d say go for it. We will benefit from it somehow.


    Hey it’s not a useless skill! I get embarrassed shooting arrows with an elf nearby! I can’t keep it like this!


    You and your strange motivations. I guess I will beat up Raishin. Let’s go!


    Eh? But I’ll lose!


    Yes, and this exercise is important so that you don’t lose as fast!  Greg and Raishin took some distance and started to duel.


    “You still have my items and belongings stored right? Can you take out my archery supplies?”


    Sure.


    I looked through the items that I had stored for Elliana and took out various bows, arrows, bowstrings and other items I don’t recognize.


    “All we need is this for now.” Elliana handed me a jar of a green viscous liquid.


    Secret weapon #4?


    Elliana shook her head. “No silly, this is Woodbark Amber. You’ve noticed how some of my arrows have strange trajectories right?” I nodded.


    “Arrows that use this as a tip will show that behavior. It solidifies if a short burst of nature energy runs through it and gains similar properties as glass or obsidian.” She revealed that the 2 stones were molds. She placed a headless arrow between 2 stones.


    “This is how we make them. We pour the amber in the mold, we stick in the headless arrow, make sure nothing sticks out and then gently apply some nature energy.”


    She poured the green viscous liquid in the mold, stuck the headless arrow in, applied nature energy and revealed the arrow. The arrowhead looked dull. She tapped it with 2 fingers, applying some more nature energy and the dull parts shattered off, revealing a dangerous looking sharp arrowhead.


    Whoa.


    Elliana messed with the system of the training room and had the simulation create a simple monster. She nocked the arrow and aimed.


    “Arrows with Windbark Amber heads fly perpendicular to the wind direction. They don’t react instantly to natural wind but they do to wind magic.” The monster was roaming around and it didn’t seem as if Elliana could hit it at where she was aiming currently.


    There was no wind in this simulation room. Elliana released the bowstring. She made small simple gusts, nearly imperceptible on the arrow which made it zigzag, curve, make a small arc around the monster and hit it from behind.


    “It will be a bit trickier with natural wind but that’s the gist of it. Anyone can learn this technically as you don’t need a wind magic affinity to do this, just produce small gusts. The ability to read the wind and precision are needed however, but that should be no problem for you.”


    Whoa, that’s so overpowered! But I assume this would indeed be tough without Elgards Eyes.


    “For arrows without Windbark Amber, it’s just reading the wind. It was brief but you seem to shoot arrows through layers of air and wind that are similar, try to take a bit more advantage of changing winds and areas with different air pressure, I’m sure you can figure it out. Now for the last skill.


    She flung some nature energy on the monster that had the arrow on his back. And showed me a magic circle.


    “It’s a simple elven magic spell. It causes nature energy attacks to follow the target.”


    She nocked a normal arrow and imbued it with nature energy. She didn’t bother aiming and shot. The arrow made a natural curve toward the monster. It did miss but it was clear that the arrow was attracted to the monster.


    “That’s it.”


    Ohh I see. Interesting. Cn I see the magic circle again? Can I also see the magic circle of your [Wind Arrow]? I might have something for you. Well I don’t have it yet but I can make it.


    Elliana showed me the magic circles. I didn’t want to mess with elvish magic so I just learnt it as Elliana showed me. [Wind Arrow], however isn’t elvish magic so I improved that for her and made a [Lightning Arrow] skill for her. She also showed me a heavy hitter called [Wind Ballista] and I made a lightning equivalent for her. I needed specific runes to make a better [Lightning Ballista] but this was sufficient for now.


    I messed with the wind and lightning versions. I gave them some interesting properties but it will be boring if I tell you, it’s better if you find out yourself hehe.


    “Thank you! I was starting to feel that the lightning skills I knew were… out of place for my style. And now we both have something to practice!”


    Elliana made the space spawn more monsters and she started to practice with her new and improved skills.


    I started to make arrows with Windbark Amber. The arrows were made out of ice and the tips will be frozen in its shape and then hit with nature energy.


    My application was a bit rough but after 6 failed arrowheads I got something that looked deadly enough. I felt like a toddler as I had made a mess and there were green shards and green liquid everywhere.


    The training began after I had cleaned up my mess. A weak monster appeared and I shot the arrow. The arrow snapped midair as I had applied too much wind mana to it. My magic control is top tier but that doesn’t matter for an element I hardly use. I can only make neat [Airballs].


    It took 17 snapped arrows before I got the hang of it. It wasn’t hard. That was ignoring that I have overpowered eyes of course. While not as graceful or accurate as Elliana, the arrows did find their target. As long as I hit the target, I feel that I’m accurate enough. Aiming for specific parts will take more training but I will rely on Elliana if we need to go for the eyes or a small specific part.


    At least I shouldn’t be embarrassed to shoot off arrows in front of an elf now! I practiced the other skills Elliana had thought me and I saw that Elliana had figured out how to use the new and improved skills I gave her. She was alternating [Wind Arrow] and [Lightning Arrow] which matched the intent I had put in them.


    I looked over to the fight between Greg and Raishin. Raishin was laying the hurt on Greg but we all know that if Greg gets a good hit in that the situation could reverse. That’s why Raishin was keeping up the pressure.


    Aand he got bound by vines. I forgot that Greg also knows some nature energy and elven magic. I’m sure Raishin had forgotten too as he seemed surprised and was complaining.


    Aand he stopped complaining as Greg knocked him out with his hammer.


    I connected to the leyline currents and used [Counterspin] it was time to practice under situations that are a bit more… extreme.


    I returned to my room exhausted. We had practiced almost the whole day. I had said goodbye to Raishin, Greg and Elliana as they will be going out and find out what their race is supposed to do tomorrow. This means I can have a nice sleep!

    I heard knocking.


    “Mr. Silver Torrent! Your appointment!” I got up. I freshened myself up swiftly and changed. Nilah was looking out of the window and studying the humans in the lobby of the AA. I wonder what Raishin had planned for me. I opened the door and a short man in the AA uniform was in front of the door.


    Bring me to your leader!


    “That was the plan, follow me.” Oh, I didn’t expect this to happen. I got brought to the 5th floor and into an office. I saw many familiar faces.


    Uhh Vice Daddy, what is going on?


    “I see, Raishin, hasn’t told you anything, good. We all had a rough few months but most of the AA are fully operational now. I have to say, you do move around a lot. Anyway, it was a challenge to get everyone to Brilliance, but here they are, the first 3 adventurers to succeed in getting into the Silver Torrent role.Stolen from its rightful author, this tale is not meant to be on Amazon; report any sightings.


    I looked at Mo, Crissy and Hayley.


    Ah that explains a lot.


    “It is good to see that you are well.” Crissy had a strange smile on her face.


    “Too bad Raishin isn’t here but we haven’t seen you for even longer!” I had no idea Hayley was still in contact with Raishin.


    “But man, that exam was rough whew!”


    Even for you Mo? What kind of sadistic exam did you cook up for them Vice Daddy? And uhh? New secretary?


    “Really Agnis? Would it hurt you to remember me?”


    “Leave it be Tania, I’m not sure what you were expecting… Anyways while the continent is still recovering, they could use some excitement. They are already excited that there is not just a new member but a whole team that has joined the Silver Torrent role. But what if we add on to that if you were to fight them1”  Eh? You want me to embarrass myself?


    “And why do you think you would embarrass yourself!?” Crissy put her hands on her hips.


    It’s 3v1 I will lose!


    Nobody in this room seemed to believe that.


    “You do know that we do this knowing we will lose right? Raishin told me this would happen.” Hayley snapped her finger and an AA worker appeared and opened a suitcase with a pristine salmon in it. My mouth started to water.


    What do you want me to do!


    “So easy… just show us what you’ve taught us 2 years ago!”  2 years ago? Has it already been that long?


    The 3 nodded.


    Hmm, ok, just make sure you are serious you might get seriously hurt otherwise.


    Vice Daddy got up. He seemed satisfied that the bribery was successful. Crafty old man. “Well glad that is fixed, we have prepared an arena and we will be recording it. Maybe you can show why you’re called the Silver Torrent, I’m sure everyone is curious.”


    The three took a step back.


    “Uhh, Vice president, we’re fine, he doesn’t have to do that!” I agreed with Crissy, that is overkill.


    “Hmm, really? I’m quite curious.”


    Maybe another time. So, when is it?


    “Get ready, it’s in an hour! Yessir! This is going to be fun!” Mo started to dance. He seemed excited.


    Uhm, I guess I will have Nilah sit out this one.


    “Nilah? You… have a girlfriend?”


    Uh, no Crissy, she’s, my pet.  I turned Nilah from sword form to fox form.


    “Oh, I’ve seen her before so her name was Nilah!” Hayley crouched down and started to pet her.


    Warning, she will steal your mana.


    Nobody cared as usual.


    Crissy cocked her head. “Why won’t you let her join?”


    She will seriously fuck you up but I can have her participate if you want.


    “She took all of my mana… maybe we should listen to him Crissy…”


    Ok I won’t use her. Well get ready you three, I bet you haven’t have gotten your asses kicked since 2 years ago.


    We all left the room and got lead to the battle arena. Did Raishin set this up for this fight or was he trying to get me with Crissy? He can be quite cunning sometimes; he was probably aiming for both.


    I wondered how to kick their asses. I could out speed Mo, or outdo Crissy with ice. Or… I could go full physical with dagger and wires. I haven’t done that in a while. I will do that.


    We walked in the arena. They were so kind to have covered the floor in water. The only audience were some AA workers, Vice Daddy, his secretary and is that the president? And he also had some people with him.


    The first thing they seemed to notice was that I was walking on the water that was shin height. Sadly, this isn’t due to my water mastery anymore. It is quite hard for me to sink nowadays.


    The bell rang to start. Crissy instantly froze all the water and Mo started to skate. I threw a dozen of daggers at him. This surprised the three of them. Mo evaded them but the daggers flew in strange patterns because they were attached to wires. I started to use [Accel Step] over the ice and electrified the wires. I had caught Mo in a net and zapped him.


    I [Blindsided] Crissy and landed an electrified palm thrust to her back, briefly paralyzing her. I tied her up in wires.


    “Hey! You didn’t teach us this!” Hayley tried to help Crissy, but I turned the ice under her, causing her to turn around. Mo tried to break out of the wires but they were made out of dragon beard.


    He did send magic at me but I threw lightning infused daggers at them, canceling them out.


    “Ooh shucks, what are these wires made off?!” Mo couldn’t get out of them. I pulled him in and made him crash into Hayley. I jumped up to evade an [Ice Spike] Crissy shot at me. Her intention was for me to move to the side so she could box me in but I know these tactics.


    There was nothing for them to interrupt because I was using physical combat and magic infusions. A [Ice Pillar] launched me but that just put me in a more advantageous position. I pulled on the wires and pulled the three together and bunched them up together.


    I landed on Mo’s head and my hand holding wires crackled with red lightning.


    Want to go on?


    “No sir! We surrender! That was amazing though!”


    “Wow, I feel quite embarrassed, we lost faster than I expected…” Hayley said as she tried to get out of the bind.


    “You eliminated any chance for us to act, just as you have taught us…” I freed them and consoled them.


    Don’t worry, this means you still have lot’s to learn. Knowing this is one of your weaknesses only makes you stronger.


    “JEFF DO YOUR FUCKING JOB AND ANNOUNCE THE WINNER!” Something familiar happened and the president was yelling at the announcement guy.


    Sorry for ending it so quick, longer fights do favor our style but it will also keep us under pressure to keep the control up.


    “Wires, eh?” Crissy went nerd mode and was writing down notes.


    Vice Daddy’s secretary seemed to be his daughter in the end. I finally remembered her; she wanted something stupid as me joining her party. I refused her again. Vice daddy seemed lost in thought, he seemed to have been taken aback by my use of daggers and wires.


    “Jerome, we need to have a meeting!”


    “I agree, Terrence, will you be taking your daughter to the meeting?”


    “Not this time, Tania, the President and I have important matters to discuss, please… don’t embarrass yourself.” Vice Daddy and the president walked off. I was wondering if I was in trouble.


    A small party was organized to celebrate the creation of Team Moch. I bet Hayley came up with this name it used the first letters of every team member but since ‘Mo’ only has 2 letters it ended up as Moch. Mo was the leader so she only found that fair, it also made for a better name.


    We were at some place. I didn’t catch the name but we could lounge but it was also a place where one could hold these infamous ‘Parties’. They were also distributing alcoholic beverages. I don’t like where this is going.


    “So, what are you up to these days?”


    Not much, some snackin’, slackin’


    “Hey! He is my rival! He will join my party!” Tania butted in.


    Didn’t your daddy say to not embarrass yourself? Shouldn’t you be the example here as our elder?


    Hayley inspected Tania. “She is older than us? How do you know the daughter of the vice president?”


    Dunno, I discovered today that he has a daughter, I always thought he had a son.


    “That’s not true! Hehe! We know each other for about 10 years now! I remember still when he was a 12-year-old brat!”


    Huh? That happened?


    “He doesn’t seem to remember you though…” Crissy tilted her head.


    “That’s because his memory is terrible!” She said as she pointed at me. It seems as if she was getting close to having one drink too many as she is successfully embarrassing herself.


    Hayley grinned. “He remembers us though.” This seemed to do critical damage to Tania.


    Mo stopped dancing. “Well, it is known that the Silver Torrent tends to disappear and has a bad memory, there are rumors that he is an alien.”


    What? Why!? Not again! I can’t stand this accusation! You! Daddy’s girl! Do something!


    “Hmpf, remember my name first!”


    Will you help me, Tania?


    “Oh, eh, sure.”


    Heh, easy, such a Daddy’s girl!


    “Hey are you sure you don’t remember me?!”

    The rest of the day was quite lively, a bit too lively. I left a clone behind and walked through Zanyr. The emperor is fast as always. It looks way better than when we returned Yzs. It seems they have started to treat Elliana and Raishin as heroes over there. Greg and I were seen as also contributors


    This had made the country extremely friendly to Zanyr because…. I looked at the statues of Dimitri, Greg, Raishin, Elliana, and me on the big city square. I sighed. Complaining to Dimitri is just going to make things worse for us. I want to bust down these statues but it’s just going to give him an excuse to build better ones. This is so embarrassing… I decided to ignore it.


    The three stayed in Zanyr for another week. Our fight had blown up. Everyone seemed to be aware of how strong team Moch was because they had fought other 3-man teams before to show their dominance but this fight showed how far they still had to go. This in turn… made me more popular.


    “Come on Agnis, what did you expect? You defeated us under 2 minutes, that is certainly going to count for something!


    But they’re making it out to be a big deal!


    “Well, we have been challenged 43 times since we passed our test a month ago and we had beaten all of them relatively easy. Some of them were very strong teams.” Mo had put on glasses and was reading from their track record off a tablet.


    So, it’s your fault that this is happening!


    “So unreasonable!” I had walked them to the teleport gates. These 3 had become filthy rich in a short time so they could afford these stupidly expensive gates now.


    “We will make you proud don’t worry!” Hayley sounded like a daughter setting out to make her parents proud. I hate this…


    Hey stop with that sappy stuff, I’m not your teacher anymore nor am I your parent. You owe me nothing, do what you want and enjoy.


    “We will put up a better fight next time! And say hi to Raishin for me!” Hayley stepped into the gate.


    “Until we meet again! I will find a way to deal with physical crowd control!” Mo shook my hand and stepped through the gate.


    “Raishin had set this up hoping something would happen… I am moving on, thank you for teaching us in the university. The world seems to hold way more possibilities and opportunities now. We won’t forget your teachings.”

    Crissy smiled, waved and went through the portal. Raishin is going to nag me when he learns nothing happened. At least I got more famous by beating up my ex-students. He can’t nag about that right?


    I decided to rest. I need to find a way to get rid of this fame. How does one fall out of fame? Doing something bad won''t work it will just turn into infamy. Maybe if I do nothing? I tried that before but that didn’t work. Nuking the continent? I can’t be famous if there’s nobody left! I decided to use that as a last resort.


    It wasn’t a long way between the teleport gate terminal and the elevator to go to my room but it took forever because adventurers had come here to meet me. This sucks!
