When Yerick heard the name "Rose", he frowned. "I''m a little curious. How did I bump into you here and end up getting hit? Do you even know how to drive?"
"You jaywalked, and you''re ming me for hitting you?" Theodore replied. "I have a dashcam. Want to check and see if you broke thew?"
"I was in a hurry," Yerick said, sounding aggrieved. "Besides, you''re the one driving. Don''t you know how to give way to pedestrians?" Theodore couldn''t be bothered to argue with Yerick, and merely said, "I''ll take you to the hospital and pay for your medical bills. The rest is on you." Yerick had darted across the street, and Theodore hadn''t been able to stop in time. Even if there was any fault, it was shared equally. By getting him to the hospital and covering the costs, he had already done his part.
"You''re so cold-hearted. No wonder Rose left you and married another man. You deserve it!"
Theodore frowned, and tightened his grip on the steering wheel. "What did you say?"
Yerick, despite the pain, gritted his teeth and sat up. "Are you angry? Am I not speaking the truth? Thest time we met in the hospital, you were so aggressive and punched me. How could Rose be happy with that?"
Hearing this, Aurora was utterly shocked. "You two know each other? And what do you mean by punching him? Mr. Spencer, did you hit him?"Text ? by N0ve/lDrama.Org.
"I did punch him. He had iting," Theodore said, starting the engine.
"What''s all this about?" Aurora turned to Yerick. "So, you two know each other? Is this really a coincidence?"
Yerick replied, "We''ve met once. It was when Rose''s husband had an ident. We thought it was Theodore''s doing."
The more Aurora listened, the more confused she became. Just as she was about to ask more questions, Theodore interjected, "Enough. Let''s all be quiet."
He didn''t want to discuss these matters inside the car. He feared he might lose his temper.
Seeing Theodore''s displeasure, Aurora dared not ask further. Yerick, too, fell silent. He leaned back against the back seat and continued groaning in pain.
Finally, they arrived at the hospital. Theodore helped Yerick inside, with Aurora following behind.
The doctors examined Yerick. He indeed had some fractures and some soft tissue injuries, but nothing too serious.
Theodore stood by the hospital bed
and said, I''ve paid for your medical bills. The doctor said you should stay overnight for observation. If everything''s fine tomorrow, you can be discharged."
With that, Theodore turned to leave.
"Wait a minute," Yerick called out.
Theodore turned around. "What else do you want?"
"Who''s that woman? Is she your new girlfriend?"
"No, she isn''t. Don''t make assumptions."
He didn''t want people to misunderstand him about such matters.
Aurora, who had been standing outside the room, heard how seriously Theodore denied it, and her heart acked. However, she wasn''t his girlfriend, so it was natural for him to deny it. It was just that she liked him too much, which was why she felt hurt.
Aurora took a deep breath. She leaned against the wall, and patiently waited.
"If she''s not your girlfriend, then why are you two together? And the way she looks at you is different."
"How is that any of your business? Mind your own business," Theodore said, irritated.
"She looks like Rose," Yerick said.
"Haven''t you noticed? You im she''s not your girlfriend, but I don''t believe it. Could it be that since you couldn''t have Rose, you found a substitute?"
"Yerick, don''t push your luck. Do you want to get punched again?" Theodore''s expression turned dark.
