Matthew was ready to leave, yet Ss was still unconscious. It was a troublesome situation.


    He was about to carry Ss on his back before thinking that it was inappropriate. Left without any other choice, he carried thetter in his arms.


    Ss was skinny and surprisingly light. Matthew carried him out of the room and walked downstairs.


    After arriving at the yard, he pondered for a while before burning it down with a torch.


    Only then did he walk out, carrying Ss. Once he was outside, his vision cleared significantly. He looked down and immediately noticed Ss staring at him with wide eyes. Matthew stopped walking. "You... You''re awake?"


    There was a weird smile on Ss'' face. "Yes, I''m awake."


    The sight of the grinning man in his arms suddenly grossed Matthew out. "What the hell? You made me carry you even though you''re awake?"


    He let go, and Ssnded on the ground with a thump, yelping in pain. "Why did you drop me? That hurts. Couldn''t you have put me down slowly?"


    Matthew replied with annoyance, "Suits you right. You were awake, but you still let me carry you. Doesn''t that gross you out? When did you wake up?" Grinning, Ss said, "It''s not gross. Being carried is rather nice. I actually woke up quite a while ago."


    Matthew raised his leg and kicked Ss in the butt. "Are you looking for a fight, you shithead? I''m sticking my neck out for you, yet you''re making trouble for me."


    Ss stood still and let Matthew kick him once. He was not at all angry.


    With a smile on his face, he said, "Truth be told, ever since you came to me, I knew there must be something you''re after. You didn''t ask me about it, and I couldn''t be bothered to say anything. However, I''m very grateful for what you''ve done for me, especially today.


    "My family is all gone. No one cares


    if I''m dead. Yet you risked your life for me and I''m grateful for that. From now on, you are my brother-my blood brother in life and


    death.


    "Tell me, what are you after? I''ll try my best to help you."


    Matthew sighed, feeling that he might have been in the wrong. "I did approach you with a hidden motive. I want the Gugleni Sect''s medical book."


    Ss did not expect that the medical book would be what he wanted.


    "To be honest, the medical book isn''t anything precious. The reason is that many people dislike the Gugleni Sect''s medical training. They think its theories are questionable.


    "All those who are somewhat acquainted with traditional medicine are unwilling to learn it. I''m always worried that it will be obsolete.


    "However, I had trouble keeping myself alive, so I wasn''t inclined to think about passing it on. If you want the medical book, I''ll bring it to you right away."


    Matthew was very surprised by how easy that was.

    Ss scratched his head. "When I was a beggar, no one paid attention to me. Now everyone wants me. What should I do next?"


    Matthew had no clue either. They''d have to wait and see what Sara would do.


    He patted Ss'' shoulder andforted him, saying, "There''s nothing much to do. Everything will be fine as long as you don''t go to her if she uses physical force, just hit her."
