The southern walls were lined with horsetail reeds that rustled with gusts of wind, and in the yard were tworge trees with lush foliage-a honey locust tree, and a magnolia tree. There was also a variety of flowers and leafy nts spread across the yard.
Matthew took a quick scan of the area and followed Levi to the building. Once they arrived at the entrance, the burly man stopped and gestured for them to
enter.
"I am not allowed to enter, Mr. Lancaster, so please go ahead."
Upon hearing that, Levi hummed in reply and pushed open the door. Then, he saw a woman in her 30s dressed in a maid''s uniform, and she smiled at Levi before saying politely, "This way, mister."
Levi then turned around and signaled for Matthew to follow him in. The maid brought them to the dining room on the second floor, and they saw a man in his mid-30s who was having his meal.
The moment Levi saw him, he greeted, "Hi, Mr. Fuller. Are you having lunch?"
Keh then smiled and said, "Come and have a seat, Mr. Lancaster. Let''s eat together."
At that, Levi nodded and took a seat before he motioned to Matthew to sit as well. Matthew hummed and went over to sit next to Levi.
All of a sudden, Keh pped his chopsticks down onto the table. His face darkened as he looked at Matthew and asked, "Who said you could sit down?" Then, Matthew froze in confusion-he didn''t understand what Keh meant.
From the moment he saw Keh, Matthew wanted to ask him for the form directly. But because he had promised to follow Levi''s n, he suppressed his urges to talk. Who knew Keh would talk to him like that out of nowhere? There was a contemptuous note in Keh''s gaze. "What? Are you a chauffeur?" Matthew nodded in reply and said, "Yes, I am."
Just then, Keh gently knocked onto the table with his middle finger and said, "This is where I eat, and a chauffeur like you is in no position to sit with me!"
Levi was shocked when he heard what Keh said he hadn''t realized that there was such a rule in the Fuller family for he used toe alone all the time.
The main issue wasn''t the fact that Keh had discriminated against a mere chauffeur, but Matthew, who had taken Isaac''s life. He didn''t dare think of the consequences if Keh were to provoke Matthew.
As a result, Levi quickly tried to appease Keh. "Don''t be mad, Mr. Fuller. It''s
not worth it to get angry over such a small matter."
But Keh ignored Levi and
pointed at Matthew as he said, "Can''t you hear me? A measly.
chauffeur like you does not deserve to sit at the same table as me.
"What are you even worth? Why are you looking at me like that? Are you mad?"
Matthew clenched his fists as he stared straight at Keh-he could hardly hold it in any longer.
Facing the current scene, Levi felt his worries heightened, and he carefully asked Matthew, "Why don''t you... stand for a little first?"
Seeing Matthew stand up slowly afterward, Levi let out a breath of relief-he was d that Matthew wasn''t angry.
After that, Keh snorted coldly and said, "Well, you''re pretty quick on your feet. If it weren''t for Mr. Lancaster, I would''ve broken your legs."
Then, Levi smoothed things over with a smile. "Thanks for your graciousness, Mr. Fuller. It was my fault for not considering it."
When Matthew heard that Keh was going to break his legs, he frowned and looked up at Keh.
Immediately, Keh let out a
disdained expression. "What are you
staring at? Please take a look at your worthless self! Seriously. Are you asking for a beating?"
There was a chill that shed past Matthew''s eyes, and very quickly, a crisp p
sounded across Keh''s face, which echoed throughout the room.
Keh was shocked by the p and held onto his cheek as he spoke in disbelief. "You... How dare you p me!"
Even Levi was bewildered-now that Matthew had gotten physical, it meant that they had thrown away their very hope of reconciliation with Keh.
The maid, who was standing by the side, was so shocked by the scene that her
eyes widened till they almost popped out of their sockets.
How could a mere chauffeur p Mr. Fuller so daringly? Was he asking for a death wish?
