Thank you god, thank you heavens, for being merciful enough to bring back my man to me...
Meanwhile, Huo Yunting sensed something strange from Lu as he surveyed her carefully. She was shivering—a very slight, brief shudder from time to time but noticeable. Her eyes were fixed upon his brother, as if she was beholding a nearly extinct creature in this world.
Out of a sudden, her shoulder felt tight as she felt the wind stirring nearby—it was Huo who came teasing her, as usual, “You are obviously into my young uncle. You thought of your plot yet?”
It should have been the perfect timing for Lu to knock his arm, pinch his face or anyical gesture between the canonical couple in the romance genre, but she decided to zone out, pletely neglecting it.
“Hello? Are you listening to me?” Huo’s grip tightened on her shoulder, as he profoundly added, “Earth calling Lu Zhaoyang!” Lu Zhaoyang had probably stopped working, as her eyes were welling up and staring at the stage the whole time.
The statue-like reaction was rming to Huo, as a sudden, crazy link came into his mind.
Thest time I saw her being so dramatic was during my investigation on the Chen guy...
Chen...
Huo Chen...
Interesting...
Lu’s reaction was beyond his imagination. There seemed to be something between them in the dark.
Huo could not help but raise the corners of his lips, as mischievous disdain built up in his eyes.
He loosened his grip.
“It is already at heaven’s mercy for I am able to return alive. Thank you god and thank all the guests who took time for this asion.”
The apuse roared.
Lu Zhaoyangunched a cluster of apuse, as her head stiffly moved along with her general, like her steps.
But before she could take a step further, she was grabbed by her arm. She was forced to stay by Huo Yunting’s side.
“LET ME GO!” She red at Huo Yunting, as tears rolled off her eyes uncontrobly.
I just want to see Chen, right now!
“Uh huh, I know you want to see my uncle. But, as what kind of identity? His beloved niece or his beloved wife of his nephew?” Huo lowered his head and looked straight into her eyes. He wrylyughed, “Lu Zhaoyang, if you want to flirt with your own uncle, do you understand the concept of a taboo?”
Lu’s joy was extinguished, then smashed into a million pieces by the question.
I-I...
Huo is right... I’m his wife and I am a daughter of Madam Xue. I was no longer that simple student Chen dated in college.
And...my body...was no longer the way it was before—We can’t turn back time...
“N-NONE of your business!” Howled Lu as she swung his hand away and walked in another direction. She needed some time-out.
Meanwhile, the first thing Huo Chen did was to go after Lu Zhaoyang who stormed out of the ce.
He might have fallen unconscious, but his brain never stopped reaching her in the past few years. And it was this faith that had kept him alive.
All he thought was her and only her all these years.
There were urges in him that were arriving in waves and shouting at him to wake up right away, only to see her.
“Oh Chen, my brother! Come here, I’ll show you somebody!” That was when Huo Zhenning showed up in the crowd and grabbed him to the other side. He tried pinpointing Lu but she was already gone.
Lu strolled in the garden behind the mansion. She tiptoed across while being sluggish and dead. It was as if every step would rey the days with Chen.
