[Nineteen Years Later]


    Me? Who was I? That’s right I was a prince, now I was just a low ranked post-service soldier and a heretic that worshipped the goddess of chaos. I was now living in a simple room, I always woke up from my wooden bed and looked at the table, there was always a simple dark rose that was because every day I picked up a red rose from my little garden and put it on the table, I knew she was watching me.


    I still had my old habits, every morning I always had a bath and then I looked at the small mirror, I used to see a handsome young man, now that handsome young man turned into a middle-aged man with circle glasses and a golden beard that covered every part of his face.


    I wore my simple armor and my sword sheath, I went to the postal office, this town used to be a simple country, now this was the birthplace of geniuses because of The Genius Duchess.


    I opened the postal office, I was the only one working there because these geniuses also invented the pipe message system and the dragon message system, almost nobody used the royal postal service, I sat on my chair, started to wait for my newspaper. "Mister Arthurian here is your newspaper." The young boy handed my newspaper, I handed him a couple of bronze coins but these coins were becoming old too. "Mister do you have paper ?" He was talking about the new paper currency, this was also invented by The Genius Duchess. "You got your money!" The young boy left the office, I knew about the fact I was acting like a grumpy old man but I couldn''t stop myself from acting, I just felt too old in this city.


    I opened the newspaper, there were two things got my interest. First one was about Deristian now he was the regent king, our father was getting old and sickly but he was going to take up his crown when he recovered, I knew this because it was the sixth regency and my little brother added a couple of members to his harem. I was disgusted by him but I wasn''t in the place to be disgusted with him, during my youth I also slept with other woman but I didn''t marry them or really loved them.


    The second one was about The Empire of Elyssia, now it wasn''t The Empire of Elyssia but The Noble Republic of Elyssia, eighteen years ago The Crown Princess locked herself in her room and was never seen since, she gave orders via letters and every letter had a feather from her wings this was to prove the fact she gave that order but this was exploited by the nobles, all they had to do was to remove the feather, burn the letter, write a new letter and put the feather in it and their emperor was already bedridden and died one month later with that nobles established The Noble Republic.


    The news was about some important noble in that noble republic dying, I didn''t care about that and finished reading the newspaper.


    Like every day this day was empty but every Sunday I had a special customer and today was Sunday, the doorbell made a sound, I turned to the door and saw a young woman with platinum long hair that was braided like a tail and light blue eyes just like the sea.


    I picked up my newspaper, just to look busy, she arrived at the counter. "What can I do to help you ?" I said. "Come on mister, I have been coming here for ten years." I looked over the newspaper. "Well, you should know that you are under eighteen so and if you are under eighteen you cannot get a letter from me without your parent''s signatures." She put a basket on the counter. "This is my parent''s signature."  I looked at the basket and saw a weird white thing that was in a glass. "This is the new sweet I invented, it is called Ice Cream, try it" She handed me a spoon, I took the spoon and took a bite out of that thing. "Delicious! But the letter isn''t here yet, they arrive in the afternoon." "I know" She pulled a letter from her dress, It was probably in her corset. "This letter is important please send it fast."     I was her letter friend, I went by the name "The Great King" At first I started to write to her when she was a ten year old, she was a shy and an easily scared child, a coward. I wanted to help this little girl so I started to write her pep talks as a fan, then she started to ask me things, these things got more and more personal until the point I was her mentor. I didn''t want to lose her to my little brother so I started to write badly about my little brother and she started to disgust him like I did, I wasn''t proud of what I did but I was okay with it but there was one thing I was proud of it was her, that shy and coward child turned into a smiling and an ambitious genius girl.


    I opened the letter and started to read it.


    "Dear The Great King, just like always I have questions to you and these are urgent ones, please respond fast. First thing is that That Disgusting Womanizer, sent me a letter about a hospital, you might not know what that is, it is basically a health center for everything, I want to say yes because this is for the people but I want to ask your opinion on that matter. Secondly, I have told you, I have been having nightmares and I was becoming more paranoid every day,  I want to thank you for helping me but yesterday I collapsed due to overwork but the doctors said they found an incurable disease in my body, they say I will be paralyzed after three months and die one year later, I don''t know what do to, please help me! ---Alycia"


    This letter wasn''t an advice asking letter, it was a cry for help letter, I started to write my response immediately.

    [One Day Later]


    I was doing paperwork, I heard a knock on my door. "Come in." A bald old man wearing a butler outfit came in through the door, this man was Sebast, my chief butler, and bodyguard. "My lady, Mister Arthurian delivered this letter" I quickly took the letter from his hands, I was happy to get a letter this fast, I opened the envelope and started to read it.


    "Dear Alycia, I have read your letter and I have solutions to your problems like always, first about that hospital thingy, offer the hospital be built in your city, Urvia. And if he says no, just build one, yourself. Secondly your disease, I have one solution to that, if that doesn''t work I am dearly sorry, I do this to turn my white hair back to its original color and it works for me, follow my directions directly, it is simple. First, pick the most beautiful rose in your garden. Second, put the rose close to you when you are about to sleep. Third, write a letter about your wish, though I don''t do this but you should. Four you should sleep, next morning go to the doctor and get yourself checked.---The Great King"


    I instantly looked outside, it was already night. I stood up from my chair and ran to the garden to find the most beautiful rose, and I found one, it was just in front of the moonlight, I picked it up and went to my room, everyone was watching me, I must have looked weird to them, I wrote a letter and put it right next to the rose and I slept, that night I didn''t have any nightmares.


    Next day, I woke up, I looked at the table to see what happened and I realized the red rose turned dark and it was crumbling and the letter was gone, I yelled to Sebast. "Call a doctor!" After one hour every doctor in the city was around me, every one of them was invited, and they all were surprised. "This must be a miracle!" "I can''t believe it is gone" "What did you do Lady Duchess ?" They were all waiting for me to answer, I answered with a smile on my face. "I just put the most beautiful rose I had on a table and wrote my wish on a letter, now the rose has turned dark" I showed them the dark rose, but it crumbled away. After that day, the legend of the wishing rose started to spread around.
