    Waaaaaah! Waaaaaaaaah!

A high pitched, constant, crying could be heard from a certain emergency room. A man in his early twenties could be seen in a chair next to the bedside of his wife, holding his newborn son. A torrent of tears were rushing from his eyes, his wails chilling those around him as his cries mixed with that of his newborn. In the bed next to him, covered in bloodied bandages, was his wife.

It could be considered nothing short of a miracle for this child to be alive. His mother, at only 19 year old, was dead. Killed in a car crash that nearly destroyed her entire body, yet the child within her was okay. The doctors had no clue as to how the little babe was able to survive. Till this day, they believe it was none other than God that saved him. Truly this child was lucky.

Little did they know, the "luck" this child possessed, would change the world as they knew it.

    ********years later*********

    "Dad! Dad! Dad! Daaaaaaaaad!"

A young boy, around eight years of age, was calling out to his father. He had short, black, straight hair that was still a bit messy from his nap. He had all blue pajamas with small pictures of a certain blue spotted dog with its tongue hanging out. His brown eyes were sparkling with delight, apparently happy that something good just happened to him.

"BLAKE, WHAT COULD YOU POSSIBLY WANT AT THIS TIME OF NIGHT?"

A man in his late twenties was slouchily sitting up in his bed, awoken by the loud cries of his son. He was pretty tan, with short black hair and brown eyes just like his son. He was quite the looker, with a beefy toned body, and a face that made many girls blush...... in his dreams. In reality, he would look some much better if he''d cut that overgrown forest off his face!

Blake: “I had the AWESOMEST DREAM!"

Dad: "Really Blake, you nearly blew my ears off, AGAIN, because of some dream?"

Blake:"Uh-huh! It was the best I ever had! EVER!"

Blake''s father couldn''t help but sigh. He knew that if he didn''t listen to what Blake had to say, he''d pester him for days on end until he finally caved in.

Dad:" Alright, If I listen to your dream will you go back to bed?"

    Blake:" Yeppers! "

Dad:" It''s "Yes" Blake and go ahead and start your story."

Blake jumped right into his dad''s bed and laid right next to him, wanting to make sure he could hear every single word. Despite his young age, Blake got a little dangerous when he had to repeat himself. He never liked to.

Blake:"Alright, alright. Remember that REALLY BIG HOUSE that grandma and grandpa lives in? Okay, in my dream, me you and mom was li-"

Blakes father''s mind went blank when Blake had mentioned his mom. All the emotions he had buried deep within him almost came bursting forth from his heart in one swoop. The only thing that kept the big release from happening was his oath to give Blake the best childhood he could, the one he and Lara could no longer accomplish together. He quickly composed himself and started to focus his mind on his son''s dream story.

    Blake:" DAD! You listening?"

Dad:" Ugh, yeah. What else do you think I could have been doing? You''re right next to my damn ear!"

Blake:" Really dad? Okay, what color was the pretty pink dress mom was wearing?"

Dad: “Obviously purple Blake. See, I was paying attention! Now if yo- OW!"

Dad was rubbing his left eye that was stinging a little bit from his son''s punch.

Dad:" What did you do that for? I told you it was pur-OW! OW!"

Blake: "Dad, you weren''t listening at all! Apologize!"

Blake''s face was slowly turning redder, and tears were starting to form in his eyes.

Dad:"Okay okay! How about I treat you to some of your favorite ice cream from Mandy''s Ice as an apology? That sound good to you?"

Blake shot out of the covers with his father and started to jump up and down on the bed, his tears of sadness, now tears of joy. Mandy''s was his favorite ice cream place and nothing else could compare. Their special Minty Browny Vanilla Crunchy Mix was the BEST.

Blake:" Of course I want to go and... OH OH! Can I play those awesome games while were there?"

Dad:"Geez kid, that might be pushing it. I''m not exactly flowing in cash. Those machines will drain the life out of my money."

    Blake:" Please dad, PLEEEEEEEASE!"

Blake tried to make the biggest puppy eyes as possible, hoping to get his father to crack!

Dad:(Dammit Blake, I hate when you do that. UGH)

Dad:"Alright kiddo, I''ll let you! BUT you owe me!"

Blake:"Cooool! Alright see you tomorrow dad!"

Blake jumped out of bed and flew out the door to his room, happily laughing in anticipation of tomorrow''s fun times.

Dad:" Man, kid is going to turn my hair white before I know it. Ah, well. It''s all for his sake anyways."

Dad got up and walked over to his closet. It was filled with many nice suites he needed for his job. Everything was in nice and neat order, except for one little corner of his closet.

He walked to a box that had set in the closet corner since he and Blake had moved into this nice apartment. It was filled with little mementos of his younger years with Lara. He cherished each and every one and visited the box every week as a sort of homage to his deceased wife.

As he fumbled through the box, he noticed a small glint of silver which reflected the lights above. He dig deeper and deeper into the box wondering exactly laid below that drew his attention. When he finally reached the sliver of silver, he couldn''t help gasp. It was a picture of him and his wife together in front of the old Mandy''s he promised Blake they would visit tomorrow. He was dressed up in one of his sleek, black suites and was bent down at the knees, his face next to Lara''s bulging stomach. She was wearing a silk dress, as white as the clouds, and it was embroidered with small rose flowers that lined the bottom of the dress. It was simple, yet it looked so good on her. That was the wedding picture he and Lara took in front of their favorite childhood ice cream place. They had planned the picture beforehand as a symbol of times past.

Dad started to cry a little. He wanted to hold it all in, but couldn''t help it. This picture was just one month before the fateful accident. The last great memory he had with Lara before tragedy struck.

Dad:"Lara, don''t worry. I''m going to make sure Blake has the time of his life tomorrow. I swear."

Dad put the picture away, careful to make sure it wasn''t damaged as he stored in back in the box. He got up and left the closest, determined to make sure he had gotten a good night''s rest before tomorrow''s activities!
