Chapter 700:
Caden smiled and replied, “Luck has always been on my side. I bet it’ll be a girl.”
Observing his assured expression, Alicia dreaded the devastation that bankruptcy would bring him.
Throughout her pregnancy, Alicia didn’t slow down.
She worked as hard as ever, showing no signs of fatigue.
Theplications at the gallery werergely sorted out by ke, who, after consulting with Alicia, nned to leave soon since his own business demanded his attention.
Alicia gave a distracted nod.
“Mr. Langstaff, manage it however you think best. My approval isn’t necessary.”
ke could see her exhaustion and knew that she was preupied with Caden’s predicaments.
Caden had once been a leader, now heavily scrutinized, and any issue would not remain hidden for long.
ke was already aware of some whispers.
He ced a bottle of herbal calming tonic on Alicia’s desk.
“Alicia, you’re the pir behind Caden. It’s crucial you look after yourself.”
Alicia’s eyes welled up with tears, and she nodded her understanding.
ke earnestly continued, “Avoid rash decisions. I suspect the Moss family might approach you. Any misstep could undermine all of Caden’s hard work.”
Alicia was surprised by ke’s insight but managed a weak smile.
“Thank you, Mr. Langstaff. I’ll handle it.”
Once ke departed, Alicia steeled herself and dove into her tasks.
As evening approached, Alicia called Caden.
“You promised we’d have dinner together tonight,” she reminded him gently.
“Are you wrapping up soon?”
Caden remembered his promise and had already adjusted his ns.
“I’ll go pick you up soon.”
Alicia responded with a soft acknowledgment and ended the call.
Caden was shutting his files, preparing to depart, when Hank rushed in.
“Mr. Ward, Gareth has just reached Warrington.”
He paused, catching his breath.
“He’s asking to meet with you right away.
Caden’s brow creased in thought.
He looked at his phone, its screen now dark, and said, “He’s justnded. He might be exhausted. Have him check into the hotel first. I’ll meet him in an hour.”
Hank queried, “Mr. Ward, is there an urgent matter?”
Caden responded, “Yes, there is.”
