“Nurse Joy already informed me that your Focus seems to lie in the combined effect of Nanab Berry and Meganium.
Rather, their calming effect of each. But how you plan to combine both is a bit of a Mystery.”
”Well, then I quickly explain that one.
Meganium’s Flower produces little tiny pollen on its petals.
I have the hope that pollen can carry over some of that calming effect.”
“Huh, will that even work? I mean, one of the Pollen is from a Pokemon right?
And it doesn’t seem like it creatures them from any purpose, more like a body function that degenerated with Time.”
”Exactly! You know Tropius, right?
There is a Theory ongoing that they both stem from the same Pokemon, or that their ancestor were in a Relationship!
When Plants aren’t hermaphroditic, they are divided in male and female, with the Male producing pollen for the Female.
And most of the Meganium are Male, while fairly, Tropius gender division is more equal than that but!”
”Professor Oak. I understand that the Theory is fairly exciting, but honestly, I have Problems following it.
Moreover, I would rather choose Bulbasaur if I am allowed to.”
”Oh, yes yes, I would never deny someone’s decision.
It seems I was a bit hasty there.”
”No harm done. But I want to clarify, there is a good chance that a previous from of the Meganium we know today used it’s pollen to source offspring.
With that, there is a silver of Hope that this pollen will carry on some kind of Gene Code which will add more of the calming effect the Nanab Berry already has.
What is confusing is, how the smell of the Flower should help to make something to taste or eat more calming.”
”Well, opposed to, let’s say Repel which is pure stinking chemical, the smell of Meganium is more ‘magical’, let’s say.
It’s more similar to Moves which inflict a Status Conditions then, well, chemicals.
The Same for Nanab Barry, which is probably why it’s so universal.
We don’t know the full extent it could go, so I wanted to make some experiments to at least define if it worked or not.
From there, we can find out why it worked or didn’t worked, of we can make it work and more.”
”So, short story. You tried to mix together two different forms of Magic and look if something happens?”
”Yes, many leaps in the science of Pokemon were made that way, to my defence.”
“Okay, and why Nanab Berries, when they already have a calming effect?”
”Because I kind of got stuck with truly unruly Pokemon, so I would like to search for a Solution.”
”You know that it doesn’t work that fast?”
”Oh now, I already secured a fast way, it just got me thinking of there is a better Way somehow.
And then I talked to colleagues, talked about new theories or how I help a new trainer to get a starter and so on.
It got us all fired up, trying to cultivate maybe even a complete different fruit.”If you find this story on Amazon, be aware that it has been stolen. Please report the infringement.
”Can you say Berry? It gets me thinking what is a fruit and what is a berry. And as what Nanab Berry counts.
Not as if we never called a Plant as something wrong in its Name.”
”True, now I am curious too.
Anyway, I guess I talked to much, even as you already made your choice.
Sure that I can’t interest you in a cute Chikorita?”
”I am Sure of that.”
”Okay, here we go.”
Professor Oak puts Bulbasaur in his Pokeball and puts it at where probably he needs to put it on the Terminal.
Sabrina herself puts an empty Pokeball in a fitting Slot, agreeing to a trade request from Professor Oak.
At the bottom of the screen, a bar pops up, showing how far the transfer progressed.
After reaching 100%, Sabrina waits for another message, congratulating for the trade and indicating for her she can pick her Pokeball up.
Hastily, she picks it up and holds it forward.
After a bit of pressing both sides together and then releasing the pressure, she released Bulbasaur without throwing the Ball.
”Bul Basaur!”
”Yes, you are now here.”
”Ba!”
The little Pokemon seems to overjoyed of being under Sabrina’s care now.
With fast steps and a jump, it pseudo-tackled her and she quickly sits down on the terminal again.
”If he didn’t get lively! He didn’t seem to be as happy when he was with me!”
”I am glad when seems to like me.”
”Haha, he really seems so. I have to cut of the call by now.
Maybe we see each other again!”
”By!”
“Bu!”
As the call cuts off, Bulbasaur begins to lies his Vines in Sabrina’s hand, and the two began to play.
Bulbasuar is happy to have such a nice Trainer, that wouldn’t go on an excessive Journey to battle everyone.
Older Pokemon told him a lot of the Journeys, including some tricks and Moves he should try to learn.
Which doesn’t sound to bad, but wouldn’t it be better to be able to just relax?
Not knowing what kind of thoughts said Trainer currently has.
I got a Pokemon! I got a real Pokemon!
It’s unbelievable, just yesterday I would have beloved it, but here I am!
Playing with a Bulbasaur!
And I have so many plans to one which to catch next.
Sabrina found that cash was already transferred to her License, quite a bit even.
But she will have to stock up and also buy food for her Pokemon.
Deciding to have an early Dinner and then going shopping for everything she needs.
Her previous Experience giving her enough judgement to know what to buy and who to ask for help.
Finally, Trainer and Pokemon set off to their new Home.
Because they bought so much, both of them had an Idea shortly after leaving the City.
Lying the Bag with heavy goodies down, the most sturdiest at the bottom, binding it and then dragging it behind.
They use Bulbasaur’s Vine whip, as Sabrina is a bit to tall to drag it along the ground without crouching.
It ripped, in the end. But it ripped only shortly before the goal, so both see it as a Win.
Bulbasaur, a bit tired now, decides to take a nap at her trainer Lap, who scribbles something down in the study room.
Sabrina meanwhile, pats the little ones head and writes down which Pokemon she can potentially catch in Kanto.
The List is only for an overview, from which she has to choose a few, since she can’t support so many Pokemon.
Kanto: Tauros (Transport), Charmander, Squirtle, Caterpie, Weedle, Pidgey, Sandshrew, Cleffa, Vulpix, Oddish, Paras, Venonat, Diglett (Trap), Growlithe, Poliwag, Abra, Geodude, Ponyta, Slowpoke, Magnemite, Shellder, Gastly, Voltorb, Exeggcute, Chansey, Tangela, Horsea, Scyther, Lapras, Eevee, Dratini, Tauros (Transport).
Tauros was more of an Afterthought after remembering todays Journey.
Problem? She can’t take care of so many Pokemon.
Which reminds her of Vanessa. Something to deal later with.
If she had to cut down, the it will end in…
Squirtle, Pidgey, Diglett, Abra, Ponyta, Magnemite, Chansey, Scyther.
Then trying it to cut down to five, Squirtle, Diglett, Pidgey, Chansey and Ponyta.
That would fill her Team. And she could still catch an Scyther helping on her Farm.
Yes, let’s do it like that. With that, Sabrina looks out of the Window.
”Huh, I guess I still have Time to at least take a bit care of the Plants.”
