Chapter 298

Just as Charles looked up, a tour group of middle-aged folks, led by a guide waving a little g, strolled by, chatting andughing. The g briefly blocked his view. Brooks, holding Evelyn''s hand, slipped past him from the other side of the crowd. Charles felt an instinctive urge to turn around, just as a sweet voice called out, "Daddy!"

It was Sandy, back from her autumn camp. After two weeks apart, Sandy dashed toward Charles. He crouched down, just like when she was little, and caught her in his arms. "Daddy, I missed you so much," she said, wrapping her arms around his neck and yfully pouting. Over the past couple of years, Charles''s affection for her hadn''t waned one bit, and her love for him had only grown stronger.

When she first met Charles, her mom had told her to win his favor, to make him like her. She aimed to make her mom happy by liking her dad. But now, she truly loved her father-wanted him to always be her daddy, her daddy alone. She felt relieved that Charlie was gone. Now, Daddy was hers alone.

"Mr. Jenkins," a teacher approached, respectfully greeting Charles. He exchanged a few polite words with the teacher, his tone gentle but with a hint of detachment. Sandy stood closely by his side, tightly holding hisrge hand. Her smile was sweet, and seeing the other parents either looking at her father with reverence or ttery made her feel proud.

Charles didn''t linger long, nodding to the teacher and leading Sandy away. "Daddy, where''s Mommy?" Charles was about to answer when a gentle voice called out, "Sandy."

"Mommy!" Sandy''s smile grew even sweeter as she pulled Charles towards Dahlia, who was seated in a wheelchair. "Weren''t you supposed to wait in the car for Sandy?" Charles asked, looking down at Dahlia.

"I haven''t seen Sandy for two weeks.

    ??

I missed her,Dahlia replied softly. "Don''t worry, I stopped caring about others'' stares long ago." Holding Sandy''s hand, she nced up at Charles, her eyes filled with tender affection. Her gaze seemed to say that it was his love that gave her such courage.

This scene caught the eyes of other travelers, who looked on with both admiration and envy. Today, Dahlia and Charles were no longer as low-key as before, and more people knew about them. Over the past two years, Dahlia had be a pretty well-known designer, with millions of followers on social media. She never kept anything secret. Her followers atPknew her fiancé was Charles, the head of the Jenkins family. They had known each other since childhood and had been together for many years. They were once forcibly separated for five years, yet their feelings for each other had never changed. In these past two years, their rtionship had remained stable.

Two women watched the couple exchange loving nces. One couldn''t help but say to her friend, "Seeing Mr. Jenkins and his fiancée makes me believe in love again."

"A man as wealthy, powerful, and handsome as Mr. Jenkins, and yet Ms. Dahlia''s disability doesn''t bother him. He still loves her like it''s the first day."

Her friend had a different perspective, thinking there was no way a man like Charles could have just one woman. "If he loves her so much, why hasn''t he married her?"

"It''s not that Mr. Jenkins doesn''t

want to marry her. Rosa''s period of e

mourning isn''t over yet, is it? Mr. Jenkins was very close to Rosa, and he wants to honor her memory for three years, which is why he hasn''t married yet!" Her friend didn''t say anything after that.
