The world was divided into 6 kingdoms, each having a complex system made to ensure the fairness of the royal family. There were technically more overseas empires that maintained a trading route with the kingdoms, democraties that refused having a royal family. The world is huge after all. Whisper concentrated herself on Noctus, the name of the land on which resided the 6 kingdoms.
Noctus was divided in 6, the surrounding royals, the name of the kingdoms positioned around the mainland. And the Mainland, the biggest kingdom placed in the center of Noctus and in the middle of the surrounding royals. The Mainland was the biggest and strongest kingdom, it was the center of trading and the head of Noctus, no-one would dare attempt anything against such a powerful land….
Well…no-one except the one they call the Mad Prince, eldest son of the Mainland royal family, his ideas and visions were not appreciated by everyone, especially his own father the king. He wanted war and death, well that’s what the history books say at least, and was exiled from Noctus with his partisants. He was followed by The Taster and The Undead, a powerful witch who uses necromancy to slow down a body’s aging. The exile happened 200 years ago but the Prince is still alive and well thanks to his Witch. He founded a kingdom based on crime and hatred, any exiled person could find refuge in it, well if you could kill to survive.
The Exiled Prince was fuelled by hatred and rage, losing himself in the desire to destroy the world that rejected him. He trained his kingdom trying to find the perfect assassins for the job, and he did.

Whisper stared at the moon, this year will be the Black sun, a magical event where the sun goes black and the world is plunged in darkness for 7 days. This phenomenon only happens every 1500 years, the last one to be recorded was during the Elfin War, a war between the humains and the elfs, they were exterminated by humans and all magical beings were suppressed by the kings and made into slaves.
A gentle breeze made her shiver, the roof of the guard tower was windy and often cold, but it offered a view that made her forget the blood and tears. The colours melting together in a painting of light and darkness, the subtle sway of the trees and the infinite horizon that made her realize she was small, a tiny drop of paint in the beautiful painting that was the world.
She stayed there, waiting for the moon to disappear behind the clouds, and smiled. A smile was a rare occurrence in this hell Scape of a kingdom, only the fool or the ignorant would smile. Yet she let herself become a child, a foolish ignorant smiling at the sky.
-”You should head back”, the voice did not startel her, she knew it was there and her smile faded.
-”Don’t be stupid Whisper”, it continued “I know you can hear me, get down and go to bed, we both know you need it”
She sighed, letting the air escape from her body before breathing the fresh breeze in, filling her lungs to the brim. The man leaning on the ramp underneath her was calm, his voice was deep and threatening, often used to slander others and mock the weak. Yet it seemed calm, almost soft and caring. He looked at her in the eyes, a look she did not respond to.
He observed her, she had brown eyes and brown hair, her hair was long and tied in a loose braid, she had long lashes and thick lips, but apart from that she was, average, she did not look scary or menacing, she was not ugly noor beautiful, her face had a strong nose pointing up and a normal color. Nothing about her was special.
He looked away and she vanished, disappearing within mere seconds. Leaving him alone in the watchtower, Mortem called his name and he left.
Whisper was tired, Falling was right, he always was, she wished he would leave her alone. But he never left, it was comforting to know someone was there, knowing that whatever happens Falling would be there. She hoped they would die together, a romantic end for both of them, and a fitting one.
